It's made up of two organisms
that live together symbiotically.
An algae and a fungus.
I find it fascinating because
it doesn't have any roots.
It just pulls its nutrients
directly from the air,
and I'm exploring how it might be used
as a natural air filter
to help the environment.
Sorry. I can get a little carried away.
I forget not everyone's as
interested in this as I am.
I think it's really nice to hear someone
so passionate about their work.

I'm doing my internship
for my social work degree.
I want to help troubled teens.

he used take me to a farm near our house
