Tracker (2024) s03e05 Episode Script

The Old Ways

Previously on Tracker
The man you saw on the cliff
the night Dad died, his name's Otto.
Mom's the one that sent him up there.
He threw Dad over the cliff.
You think Mom was
having an affair with this Otto guy?
I think she trusted him enough
to ask him for help.
You know, something else Otto
told me he said that there
were people from the government
that were harassing our family.
Also found a phone number
hidden in the spine
of one of his journals,
had my guy look into it.
Belonged to a scientist.
What was his connection to Dad?
I don't know.
Well, maybe I can shake something loose.
Thought you were saying leave it be.
Well, you're not going to, are you?
Yeah, there's no service.
Oh, no, J. How are you gonna survive?
Come on. I think we should
head back soon.
I think we should do
the opposite of that.
What? What's wrong? Is it almost empty?
- No. No, I'm good.
- Let me see it.
Mom and Dad told me
to watch out for you.
- J, stop.
- Just let me look.
- Let me see it. Come on.
- J, I said I'm good.
Look, the sun's gonna set soon,
plus we are stuck back in park,
- and I'm hungry.
- Well,
I got a peanut butter crunch
and three cookie dough,
so I think we're good.
I'll take a protein bar,
- and I can keep going.
- Yeah.
One more hour, please?
I don't know.
Come on, J. You promised
one last adventure.
Plus, how cool would it be
if we found something?
That would be cool.
Please?
I say we head back.
I-I'm with Jaden.
Fine, suit yourselves.
Charlie, you coming?
Charlie.
Mom and Dad are gonna kill us, Sara.
Randy, did you get
that stuff I sent over?
Uh, yeah.
Got some stuff
from your brother Russell.
Bunch of records.
It looks like some kind of
FOIA redacted stuff.
I'm-I'm not gonna ask him
where he got it, but,
- guess I'm here to help.
- Take a look,
- see if there's anything there.
- All right.
Hey, is this about that name
that you had me run?
The-the-the number that
you found in your dad's box?
From David Pearson?
- Yeah, that's right.
- Okay.
You don't think it'd be nice
to tell me more about it?
I don't know. I think it's best
if you come in cold.
All right. You got it.
I'll do a deep dive.
Maybe we'll find something.
Or maybe we just
run into another mystery.
Yeah, well, lot of that
when it comes to my family.
Yeah, I'm starting to see that.
Oh, and before you say anything,
don't worry, I'm keeping it
all to myself.
- Appreciate it.
- You got it, man.
So, you close?
Uh, yeah, a couple minutes
from the trail right now.
- Any updates on the search?
- No hit on the kids' phones.
They're either off or out of service.
That makes sense. If I go any deeper,
I'm gonna need my sat phone.
Yeah, coastal fog
hampered the use of drones,
but they got some folks
coming out to assist.
Nora and Pierce Canfield
they're waiting for you.
That's Jaden and Sara's parents.
Okay. Charlie and Brooke's parents?
They are on the way from Florida.
- They just jumped the first flight out.
- Okay.
I'll update you when
I know anything. Thanks, Randy.
Colter.
Thanks for coming so fast.
We're grateful you're here.
How familiar
are your kids with the trail?
Jaden's hiked it before,
their friends Brooke and Charlie, too.
It's Sara's first time.
She has asthma,
and if anything goes wrong,
if she has an attack, then
Jaden knows what to do if that happens.
Any sign of them on the trail?
Just some protein bar
wrappers at a junction.
All right. Any, uh,
any way they, uh, they snuck off,
- did something different?
- They wouldn't do that.
Okay.
I'm sorry, I have to ask
is there, uh,
any issues at school, maybe at home?
- Uh
- Uh, well, we're leaving
the country next month,
moving to Hong Kong.
- Nora got a promotion.
- And how'd that go over?
Well, Sara's coming around to the idea,
but Jaden's taking it hard.
They're just both trying
to make the most of the time
they have left with their friends.
It was just supposed to be a day hike.
When was the last time
you heard from 'em?
Oh, they sent this picture
yesterday afternoon,
two hours into the hike.
- Mm-hmm.
- I replied right away,
but I haven't heard anything back since.
They were prepared.
Water? Space blankets?
I don't know.
Okay.
Search and Rescue geolocate the photo?
Yes, they're up there right now.
They know we hired you.
I'll send you the photo.
- I'm gonna get to work.
- Thanks.
Thank you.
Hey, buddy.
This section's closed.
Yeah. Colter Shaw.
- Parents hired me to help.
- Yeah, right.
They mentioned you.
Luke Parsons. Good to meet you.
- Appreciate the help.
- Sure.
This search area's pretty large.
You're gonna need more bodies up here.
It's only been 18 hours.
Usually wouldn't mobilize a whole search
until at least 24 hours have passed,
but I collected a few favors
to get a head start.
Okay. Anything I should know?
Uh, we had a difficult rescue recently
that could've been avoided.
Took a bad trail, couldn't get back.
Those areas are closed off now.
I'm hoping these kids just
got turned around in the fog.
Maybe.
The trail doesn't look too difficult.
Minimal incline,
there's markers at every turn.
Well, I've seen people get lost
on well-marked trails.
Check this out.
Here's what I'm getting at.
Look at all this gear.
Now, they wouldn't need all that
equipment to hike this, would they?
What are you saying?
I think they lied to their parents
about where they were headed.
This junction lead to others?
Not directly.
The cliffs limit your options
in that direction,
but there are plenty of systems
to the northeast.
Bit of a climb, though.
Hoping they aren't there.
All right. I'm gonna
head up there, rule it out.
I'll join you.
Well, if you're worried
about me getting lost, don't.
My old man used to drop
me and my brother
in the middle of the woods.
He'd leave us there.
We had to find our own way back.
That doesn't sound too fun.
No, it wasn't fun,
but it taught us to think,
never react out of fear.
Ah, well, my man hated the woods.
Also wasn't around much.
Probably why I got
into search and rescue,
- to prove I wasn't like him.
- Mm.
I get that.
Randy, I'm headed up the trail
with Search and Rescue right now.
Parents give you any more info?
No. I think this hike
was a cover for something else.
I remember that.
I used to tell my parents
I was headed to swim practice,
but really I was just
gonna go link with my girl.
You check the kids' socials?
See if anything pops?
Yeah, I got you.
Let you know if I find anything.
Hey.
Reenie still not here?
Not yet.
What?
Good luck.
She should be here any minute.
- Uh, can I get you a refill?
- I'm good.
You know, if you're into green
tea, I can break out my stash
of Dragon Well. It's pretty awesome.
I didn't come all the way
across town to have tea.
Thank you, though.
She's not coming, is she?
She is. She definitely is.
Uh, she's probably just
stuck in traffic.
- She has my number.
- No.
Just give me 30 seconds,
and I-I'll find out what's keeping her.
I'm sure she's got a good reason.
Oh, I definitely do.
We're gonna miss the signing deadline.
Good. Because they slipped in
a noncompete
to the final package this morning,
buried it in the executive comp
addendum.
No redline. No heads-up.
Nothing. Have a look.
The clause bars you
from working in health tech
or any other data-driven platform
for the next three years, worldwide.
You could be cashing out,
- you'd be muzzled.
- If we sign,
- can they really enforce that?
- Yes.
We'd be in good legal standing
to fight it. And, look,
I am more than happy to collect
on those billable hours,
but this is not about the money.
Okay? This clause tells me
that they want control,
not partnership.
They're banking that you won't
walk out this late in the game.
What would you do?
Oh, I'd stall the deal. Push back.
Look, if they don't want the
tech without the golden handcuffs,
someone else will.
I just can't guarantee
the payout's gonna be this good.
Okay. Let's push back.
I'll draft a response.
Look, you've made the right decision,
and I'll send you an email
with an update,
and also, sorry about before.
No problem.
Thank you
for stalling back there, really.
Of course, any time.
Um, so, when I was at the D.A.'s office,
the interns
they came up with
this system of, like, code words.
It kind of helped us be more
efficient but also discreet.
I was thinking maybe we could try it?
Like, if you need
to get off of a phone call
or a client needs distracting.
Anything like that.
Okay, interesting idea.
Something only we know. Like a
like a password or something.
Did Randy put you up to this?
Because he loves passwords,
and he has been super concerned
about my online hygiene.
No, no. Trust me,
he's already given me the talk.
Yeah.
Okay, I'll put together a list of words
and phrases for, uh,
different situations
you might want to get out of.
Nice. And what's
the code word for coffee?
Already brewing.
My girl.
Okay.
The drop-off blocks access
to these ranges here.
And there's the river to the southwest.
That leaves these trails
right here, yeah?
Yeah. Still too much ground to cover.
Even with the extra bodies,
I don't have the manpower
for a search this widespread.
Yeah.
Randy, talk to me. What do you got?
Well, nothing popped up on
their socials, but I did a deep dive.
And it turns out, Sara
is very active on this Reddit board
about urban legends.
She commented on a post
about this old train robbery.
Apparently, bandits stole
over $100,000 in gold coins
and supposedly buried it
out there somewhere.
Yeah, I've heard of it.
Once in a while, we get some
crazies out here looking for it.
Few years ago, this guy
came in from Copenhagen,
- fell and broke his leg.
- Where?
- Right off the Summit Trail.
- Oh, wow.
Sara posted a link to a laser
mapping study in that area.
That's one of the bad ones.
Park closed it off.
- It's incredibly dangerous.
- That's where they are.
Let's go. Thanks, Randy.
Yeah, you got it.
Tracks go off this way.
All right.
Explains why they needed all that gear.
Four sets of prints here, right?
- You got something?
- Maybe.
These knots are hand-tied, aren't they?
What's that about?
I don't know yet. Let's keep moving.
This way.
Got someone.
It's Charlie.
What the hell?
Got a pulse.
We need to stabilize him.
Wounds look superficial.
Got one of the missing hikers.
Charlie Hope.
On the Summit Trail.
Head wound, possible spinal injury.
- Five minutes out.
- Yeah?
Yeah, here he comes.
Here he comes. Hey. Hey, here we go.
There you are.
It's okay.
Whoa, whoa. Try not to move.
Can't move you till
we get the medevac, okay?
Look at me, deep breath.
There you go.
We're here to help you, okay?
Remember what happened?
- I fell.
- Slipped on the trail?
Where are your friends?
Your friends leave this for you?
The bars and the water?
Yeah? They go get help?
They left.
Okay, which way did they go?
You remember?
Hey, look at me. Look at me.
Do you remember which way they went?
There. Okay.
- Okay.
- I need to call it in,
turn it over to the sheriff.
We don't have time for that.
I'm serious. You head down that way,
a couple miles off the trail
gets into some dangerous territory.
What do you mean, dangerous?
Illegal grow operations, all sorts.
Not the kind of people
who welcome outsiders.
They see you, they will shoot.
Good to know.
My sister's still out there.
Okay, hey. I'm gonna
go find your sister.
Okay? You stay with him.
Keep your eyes open. Don't move.
Stay with Charlie, wait for medevac.
Hey, you. Oh, yo, good news.
- What?
- That short-term rental?
Looks like it turned
into a long-term rental.
Ah, I knew you'd vibe with Denver.
Okay, vibe's a strong word.
Let's just say that I kinda
dig it, maybe, a little.
- Oh, yeah, just a little.
- Yeah.
- How's the neighborhood?
- They got this amazing comic book shop
- down the block from where I live.
- Yeah?
Got readings and signings
and all kind of nerd stuff.
You do know that people come to Colorado
for the outdoors, right?
Yeah, I know that. I-I just got
a fresh new pair of hiking boots.
- I'm-I'm ready.
- I am impressed.
- Thank you.
- Wow. Good for you.
- Thank you.
- I really like having you here, Randy.
You know I needed the help.
I don't know if you noticed,
but it has been nonstop lately.
No, I-I noticed.
Hey, how's the new girl?
Actually, she's killing it.
- She really had my back earlier.
- Really?
Very good.
Colt, what's happening?
Hey, Randy, you ever hear
of an app called Wiisp?
- Uh, Wiisp with two Is?
- That's the one.
Yeah.
It's like a WhatsApp but shady.
Got two-factor security, conversation
encryption. Who's using Wiisp?
I don't know. A phone
with the initials "J.A.C."
I think it might belong to Jaden.
Oh, let me check.
Jaden's middle name is Andrew.
What's he got to hide?
I was hoping you could tell me.
I mean, the app is built for privacy,
so, might take me a while
to pull the data.
I was thinking maybe
he's in contact with someone,
knew where they were.
Is that why you think
they disappeared on the hike?
Maybe they had plans to meet up
and something went wrong.
Call you back.
Back up.
Don't.
Don't do that. Back up.
Good. Turn around.
I don't want any trouble.
Looking for three missing teens.
I know they came through here.
You're in the wrong place, brother.
I'm not a cop.
I don't care about your operation here.
I'm just looking for those three teens
I was telling you about.
That's all I care about.
That ain't our problem,
but you poking round is gonna be.
Where are they?
They never came here.
Come on out.
Come on out. It's okay.
I'm not gonna hurt you.
- You the lookout?
- Yes, sir.
Pretty important job.
I'm guessing not much
gets by you, is that right?
No, sir.
Looking for three teens.
You see anything?
- Yeah, I seen them.
- Shut your mouth, Kenny.
Listen to me.
I'm gonna forget everything
I saw here today.
Let me hear what he has to say.
Go on.
Scary guy marched them
into the bushes there.
Made them wait while he
knocked out the other lookout.
- What'd he look like?
- Couldn't tell.
He was wearing a weird camo suit.
- Where'd he take 'em?
- Don't know. He had a gun,
and then he stole my dad's truck.
What kind of truck, hmm?
- Uh, my dad's baby's an old
- Enough.
No more questions. Walk away.
You got what you need.
Tell me about the truck,
and I'll redirect the cops.
Otherwise, they're gonna track
the kids here, just like I did.
Up to you.
Rusty old Ford. '78.
Yeah.
Hey, you get any information
on that truck I sent you?
Well, a 1978 Ford pickup truck's
a little too old to trace,
but don't worry, let me cook.
All right. Kids were abducted by
someone in a homemade camo suit.
I found pieces of it
on the Summit Trail.
What, you think
he followed them up there?
I don't know. Maybe.
Anything pop on Jaden's phone?
Uh, yeah. Okay, so
Jaden's got one contact on Wiisp,
and the handle's a string of
random letters and numbers.
He deleted most of his messages,
except for that one
that you saw on the lock screen.
What'd it say?
"The path ahead is clear."
I mean, how cryptic can you get?
Yeah. Jaden respond?
No, but there's a lot
of back and forth markers,
so they definitely know each other.
- Who sent the first message?
- Jaden.
Like five months ago.
I'm missing something.
Hold up.
Okay. I traced the sender's I.P.
Pretty remote, but it's in the area.
It's either a cabin or a campsite.
Whatever it is, it's off the grid,
so it's got to be some portable
power source or-or Wi-Fi.
- Send me the coordinates.
- You got it.
I'm gonna call Parsons,
have him meet me there.
Any update on Charlie?
Heard from the hospital.
He's gonna be okay.
- We got to him just in time.
- Good.
And Search and Rescue are on standby.
Smoke.
Place is off the grid.
It's a good match
for your guy's description.
They got a satellite,
which means they probably have Internet.
They could be sending
the messages from here.
- All right.
- Let's go.
They were just here.
Needs a password.
All right, from the looks of things,
this guy's pretty analog.
Maybe he wrote it down somewhere.
Let's, uh, let's try to find it.
It could be anywhere.
Did you check under the keyboard?
Yeah.
That's where I keep mine.
Got it.
- Jaden's messages.
- Oh.
Maybe they met online.
Got close. Guy becomes obsessed.
Maybe.
Jaden's talking
about moving to Hong Kong.
Doesn't seem too happy about it.
Talking to his dad.
Can't be Pierce Canfield.
He hired you to look for his kids.
It's not Pierce. Look.
Hasn't seen this guy in ten years.
Jaden was just a kid when his dad left.
Yeah. So Jaden tries to
reconnect with his biological father.
Turns out, he's not the man
he was hoping for.
Come on. Pick up the pace.
Not too much further now.
Oh, my God. Sara.
Sara. Hey. She needs help.
Sara.
It's okay. It's okay.
Sara, breathe.
You need to breathe.
We got to get her back to the truck.
No, that's not gonna work.
It's in her lungs.
She needs a new inhaler.
Breathe with me.
In and out slow. You ready?
Dad, please. All right,
she needs a doctor.
You can do it.
Good. Good.
Reenie, you talked to the kids'
mom about her ex-husband?
Yeah, Nora's pretty shocked.
I mean, she had no idea Richard
was even in contact with Jaden.
He vanished from their life
ten years ago, but
apparently Jaden convinced
his uncle to put them in touch,
and Nora is furious.
She say anything about him?
That he wasn't cut out
to be a father.
Something flipped when they had kids,
and he started ranting
about modern medicine,
- technology.
- Sounds familiar.
Yeah, right.
At any rate, he joined a group
of radical environmental activists,
and needless to say,
they are not the kind
that just chain themselves to trees.
- Earth Liberation Front?
- Uh, yeah, uh, an offshoot.
Just slashing tires
on logging trucks,
vandalizing roadworks, the lot.
Kids know anything about this?
Absolutely nothing.
Nora shielded them from all of it
because, after that,
Richard just cut all ties
and walked out into the middle
of the woods by himself.
I mean, it doesn't sound
like the kind of guy
who'd make the move
to get his kids back.
Yeah, Jaden reached out to him first.
He was old enough
to miss his dad when he left.
Wait, do you think Jaden planned this?
What, he used the hike as
a cover to meet up with his dad?
Hey, I don't think so.
He mentioned something about the hike,
he didn't mention anything about
meeting up with anyone on the trail.
Well, maybe talking to his son
made Richard realize
what he'd been missing.
I mean, why didn't he let
their friend Brooke go?
Maybe she knew too much,
using her as leverage.
Yeah, this guy's unstable.
Colter, he's dangerous.
He thinks he's doing
what's best for his kids.
He's going about it the wrong way.
They're fully stocked up here.
I think they were planning
on staying here for a bit.
Then, why did they leave?
That is the question, isn't it?
Colter?
Yeah, hold on, I think I got something.
Got Sara's empty inhaler.
Home remedies here.
Uh, this stuff he's using,
it's gonna make her situation worse.
We've got a grid search going
and state troopers have set up
a blockade around the area.
They're treating it
as a hostage situation.
They're not here.
Sara had an asthma attack.
Father's trying to get help.
Where could they go?
Hospital's too risky.
There a pharmacy nearby?
Any local doctor?
Main strip in town's the closest.
- Let's go.
- All right.
Reenie, we got a lead.
Any sign of the truck?
Not yet.
State troopers are setting up
along the roads
into and out of town.
They'll be ready when he gets here.
All right, we're headed there
now. Maybe we can cut 'em off.
- Thanks, Randy.
- You bet.
- Watch out.
- Yep.
- All right?
- Oh, yeah.
Something up there.
- In here, please.
- Hey. In here.
- Please help!
- Hey!
- In here.
- In here.
Hey, it's okay. Brooke,
we're here to help. You hurt?
Uh, no, but he took them.
I-I don't know what he's gonna do.
Please, my brother Charlie,
we left him at the trail.
- He needs help.
- Charlie's gonna be okay.
We got to him in time.
We airlifted him out.
Anybody treat Sara?
- Yeah, me.
- Yeah?
I did what I could,
but they're not moving fast.
She's gonna need time to recover.
Okay. You see which way they went?
- O-Over there, into the woods.
- Okay, thank you.
Hey, they're gonna take care of you.
Take care of her?
- Yeah.
- Let's go.
- I don't get it.
- What?
Why did you contact him?
He's our dad.
Didn't you ever think about him?
No. No, he's crazy. He has a gun.
He would not hurt us.
Are you sure?
Did you know he was gonna kidnap us?
No, I I didn't even know
he was nearby.
I'm scared, J.
I am so sorry, Sara. Okay?
But I'm gonna get us
out of this. Promise.
We need to move now.
Well, she can't have
another asthma attack.
She won't, unless you
put it in her head.
Are we going back to the cabin?
No.
We're gonna build another one together.
I'm gonna teach you to hunt,
how to, how to cultivate,
how to read this land.
Okay?
No, no.
No, please, I can't go any further.
You can and you will.
There's no other option.
Say it.
Say it.
I can.
No, Dad, please.
Okay, just stop for a second.
I mean, look at her.
I am doing this for you!
I'm doing this for both of you.
We go now.
- Now.
- Okay.
Okay, just
Hold up.
Toss me those binocs, will you?
Yeah, I got 'em.
Here, take a look.
We should make a move
before they get too deep.
No, we hang back. Keep our distance.
Those kids are tired.
It's only a matter of time
before they have to set up camp.
He knows that, and when they
separate, I'll go after Richard.
Or we could leave that to the police.
This guy reminds me of my dad.
We bring in the cops right now,
it's not gonna end well.
He thinks he's protecting his kids.
We hang back. Let's go.
Get your pack off the ground.
What are we doing?
Setting up camp. Bedding down.
Here?
Sara, look around you. What do you see?
Um, nothing.
Trees?
Look again.
Ground, it's level. It's dry.
The woods providing cover.
We can see in all directions
if anything should approach us.
We're protected here.
- You see?
- Yeah.
Now all we need is shelter.
The two of you are gonna
help me build it.
Come here.
Take these. This one, this one.
Cross 'em up. Go ahead.
Hold them steady now.
All right, test it. See if it holds.
Go ahead. Let's get some branches,
we're gonna cover the sides, all right?
Go on.
- All the way up the sides, all right?
- Yeah.
Good.
Good job.
All right, you guys
keep collecting sticks.
I'm gonna go find
something better, all right?
Yeah.
Richard's on the move.
Why aren't they running?
'Cause they're kids. They're scared.
They don't know where they are.
He's got a gun.
- Now's our chance.
- Yeah.
Hey, listen, remember the plan.
No matter what,
make sure those kids are clear and safe.
- Here we go.
- All right.
Easy. Easy.
- You a Fed?
- No.
Just want to get your kids
out of here safe.
Why don't you toss the axe and the gun?
We're gonna have a talk.
There's an easy way to do this.
A way that nobody gets hurt.
I've never taken
the easy way out of anything.
Why not?
You're in over your head.
You know that, right? And those kids?
They're scared.
Where were you gonna take 'em?
Someplace wild.
They're safe when they're with me.
You really believe that?
'Cause you couldn't help Sara
when she needed it.
You had to hijack an ambulance
just to get her treatment.
I couldn't see her like that.
And I get that. And I believe you.
What happens next time?
They need me.
This world has made them soft.
Maybe.
So what was your plan?
To wake 'em up.
To train them and
teach them the old ways.
They grew up without you.
Jaden's got his sister
to take care of right now.
You force this life on him,
they will turn on you.
State troopers are gonna march in here.
You make one false move,
and they will take you down.
They will kill you
in front of your children.
Is that what you want?
I can't go to prison, man.
I'll die in there.
Locked up in a cage.
The only way out of this for you
is if you let 'em go.
You can stand your ground,
you can do that,
it's up to you. It's your choice.
You can show your children
who you really are.
If you love 'em
if you really care about 'em,
you got to let 'em go.
I messed up.
They're grown.
And they're set in their own ways.
This is all I know.
I guess I got to let 'em go,
though, huh?
Yeah.
Got to let 'em go.
You never contact 'em again.
You understand that, right?
Never.
You let 'em go.
You never come back.
Go on, get out of here.
I'll give you a head start.
What are you gonna tell 'em?
What happened?
Realized he was in over
his head. Came to his senses.
Uh, you have his gun, so
He, um
He did want me to tell you
that he's sorry.
Said he's sorry and that he loves you.
Said that he loves you both.
Let's, um let's get you two
out of here.
I have a vehicle coming in.
We just have to make it back
to the road.
Hey. Listen, um
It's okay. It's time to go home.
Okay.
It'll take time.
It'll be okay.
Let's go home.
- Yeah.
- Yeah.
How are the kids?
A little shook up, but they're good.
Yeah. I wanted to thank you
for your help today.
Likewise.
It would have been a very
different night without your help.
- Ah.
- Now that it's just us,
you want to tell me
what really went down?
Just laid it out for him.
- Told him how it ends.
- Yeah?
You try to stop him?
- Nah.
- I'll leave that out of my report.
Man like that should face consequences.
He's never gonna see his kids again.
Maybe that's punishment enough.
Yeah, guess so.
Maybe some folks
are better off in the wild.
Yeah, I think you're right.
Hey, Parsons, we need you over here.
Don't lose my number.
If you need anything, call me.
All right.
- Hey.
- I don't know what to say.
Thank you for saving our family.
You're welcome.
Oh, um
There's something in there from
Brooke and Charlie's family, too.
Oh, no, that's not necessary.
They wanted to.
You'll thank them for me?
You have good kids.
They're strong. They're gonna be okay.
I know.
Richard's not coming back.
You're safe. You don't
have to worry about that.
I just wish I could have done
something to prevent this.
If I was more open with Jaden,
maybe he would have just
come to me first.
Yeah, I don't know.
I think he had to learn the
truth about his dad on his own.
- Thank you, Colter.
- Yeah.
Go enjoy your family.
I will.
