The initial scans
show a five-centimetre
left sphenoid meningioma
compressing on your optic chiasm,
which would explain your vision loss.
Meaning
A tumour that grows in the outer
three membranes of the brain.
I have a brain tumour?
I'm afraid so.
Cancer?
90% of meningiomas are benign,
so there's no reason to
think that it's malignant.
But how could I have something that big
in my head and not know?
They're slow growing.
They can go undetected for years
before they start causing symptoms.
We're still waiting
on the detailed scans
to get a complete picture
of what's going on.
So, what now?
There's a neurosurgeon
over at Halifax General
who can do the surgery
in the next few days,
if you agree to it.

Well, if they can alleviate the pressure

can fully restore your vision.
