[HAYLEY] The facts of the case
are as follows.
I arrived at TCH at 09h00
to pick up a 54-year-old woman
flying to Winnipeg
for a kidney transplant.
Amy? Is that you?
No, I'm Hayley. I'm your flight nurse.
Oh. My daughter used to joke
that I had laser vision,
but ever since my kidneys
started failing
Amy was supposed to be here by now.
Is she coming to Winnipeg with you?
She's late.
You'd think a
classically-trained chef would
have better time management skills.
[CHUCKLES]
[HAYLEY] Twenty years ago,
Leona donated a kidney
to her brother.
Normally, kidney donors go on
to live healthy lives.
Unfortunately, Leona got
an acute kidney infection
six months ago that put her
in chronic renal failure.
As a living donor,
she got bumped to the top
of the transplant list.
La Petite Frisee.
That's the restaurant downtown, right?
I've heard great things.
Oh, I'd like to think so, but
as the owner, I'm a bit biased.
Oh, no way?
My boyfriend and I have been
meaning to go for ages.
Is your daughter the chef?
Well, we're both chefs,
but Amy trained in Paris.
I can give her a call, if you'd like?
I can have her meet us at the airport?
Oh, thank you. I appreciate that.
Yeah, of course.
[HAYLEY] The patient and I
arrived at YTH at 10h00,
as scheduled.
The pilots were doing
preflight checks.
[CURIOUS MUSIC PLAYING]
Um, I'll be, I'll be right back.
[HAYLEY] Crystal arrived
with the kidney at 10h30.
As a resident,
she'd been invited to Kenora
to observe the retrieval
and escort the organ.
But
Crap! Are they still not here?
Nope.
Oh. I'm supposed to
sign this cooler over
to a Donor Screening Canada rep
before I can go.
But I need to get back to TCH.
I promised a patient I'd discharge him
before his son's graduation.
Well, I can take the organ
into my custody as Chief Nurse
until the rep gets here.
Oh. You're the best.
- Okay. See ya later?
- Yeah.
My daughter's still not here yet.
Why don't I try calling Amy again?
Thank you.
Uh, can you tell Chief Nurse Roberts
that if her patient's
secure, we're ready to go
as soon as we finish fueling.
I-I know it's my first day
back from a head injury,
but Hayley's right, right there. Okay.
Uh, Hayley, Wheezer
Tell Chief Pilot Heaseman
we can't leave until
the DSC rep gets here.
So, I managed to connect with Hayley.
Sonofabitch!
[FUEL SPLASHING]
We've got a fuel spill.
We've got to evacuate.
Wheezer, I don't want to move
the patient
any more than necessary.
Yeah, and that fuel's
extremely flammable.
It's SkyMed protocol to evacuate
till it's cleaned up.
Will we still make it to
Winnipeg in time for my surgery?
Your kidney's still viable
for 16 more hours.
We've got lots of time.
If you can get me my kidney today,
you and your boyfriend have a
table at La Petite Frisee any time.
Disconnect the ground power
If I still have a boyfriend.
You're seeing someone, Amy?
I told you,
it's busy at the restaurant.
I need you focused.
Leona, are you feeling okay?
Where where are the potatoes, Amy?
I can't serve coq au Riesling
without gratin!
Hayley, hurry up, we've got to go.
I can't. Her sugars are tanking.
No, we need to evacuate now.
Okay, well help me unload the patient.
I have to give her D50 on the move.
[HAYLEY] We got Leona safely
off the plane.
Dextrose works fast,
so I was able to stabilize her.
But then I realized,
in all the excitement
The kidney!
Uh, Zay?
Can you watch my patient?
She just had a diabetic incident,
but I need to get back to the plane.
Okay.
[HAYLEY] But while we were distracted
evacuating the patient, somehow
[CURIOUS MUSIC BUILDING]
the kidney went missing off 911.
[WHEEZER] We immediately
started searching,
but when the Donor Screening
Canada rep arrived
You lost a kidney?
We had to evacuate the plane.
The patient needed emergency care.
Well, that patient is
a living donor, Ms. Roberts.
That's why she was bumped to
the top of the recipient list.
I know.
Do you know how long it takes
for most people to get a kidney?
It's only viable for 13 more hours.
If we don't find it by then
We will.
As Chief Nurse, the kidney
was in your custody.
It was and
I understand that that means
that I was responsible for it.
But the kidney is not lost,
it was just misplaced.
And I've closed down the hangar.
We're looking for it.
[EXHALES]
Of course this happens
on the day I am supposed to go
on my first vacation in five years.
All right, I'll help you look.
Where can I put my stuff?
Um, I can take it
to the staff locker room.
Okay, just don't lose it.
Like you lost the kidney.
Yeah, well, the kidney isn't lost.
What if it is, Wheezer?
Nothing has landed
or taken off since the spill.
And I shut down the hangar
as soon as we realized
it was missing.
It's here, Hayley. Okay?
We'll find it.
[HAYLEY] I let Leona know
we were delayed,
but the way her sugars crashed
earlier worried me.
A lot of kidney recipients
are diabetic,
so fluctuations wouldn't be
uncommon for them.
But I'm not diabetic.
I needed a new kidney
because of an infection.
And you haven't had anything
to eat or drink today?
Not before surgery.
I wouldn't risk not getting my kidney.
Will this sugar thing affect that?
It shouldn't. Um
but you haven't had any
medications or anything
you don't normally have?
Just my usual pills and whatever
the other flight nurse gave me.
What other flight nurse?
The one who came into my room
before you.
She put something in my IV.
[HAYLEY] The only medication
that can make
a person's sugar drop like that
is insulin.
But there was no record
of anyone giving Leona insulin
at TCH.
Which meant it was either an accident,
or someone didn't want us to know.
Could you describe
the other flight nurse?
She was wearing a baseball hat.
I thought that was odd. And
[AMY] Mom! I thought I'd miss you.
Amy, where have you been?
And why haven't you been
answering your phone?
I had a meeting this morning.
Well, I manage the restaurant
schedule.
You didn't have anything booked.
Is my mom okay? What's going on?
Yeah, she's going to be
fine. I'll just, um
[HAYLEY] I explained the delay,
but it worried me,
who was the other flight nurse,
and why did she give Leona insulin?
[WHEEZER] As Chief Pilot,
I needed to know what caused
the fuel spill.
The rampie had done
all the proper safety checks,
but when I inspected the fuel truck
Every fuel truck has a de-fuel
valve with a safety wire
to lock it in place.
[MAYA] Someone cut the wire?
But that means the fuel
spill was on purpose.
And if someone gave Leona
insulin on purpose
to cause an emergency
We think this was
orchestrated as a diversion
to get us off 911.
We didn't lose the kidney.
It was stolen.
But who would steal a kidney?
It's not like you can
walk into a hospital
and not get questioned.
There's always a way.
Especially for something
as valuable as a kidney.
Look, all that matters
right now is Leona, okay?
She needs that kidney to live,
and we have 12 hours to find it
while it's still viable.
And we need to protect SkyMed.
We cannot be known
as the air ambulance company
that loses organs.
And you were all in the hangar
when it took place,
so one of you has to have
seen something.
[OMINOUS BEATS]
Maya?
You're up first.

You can just talk to me, Cap.

you needed a break.
And you aren't taking one.
Did you even sleep last night, Stef?

Can I speak to you about something?
Of course, yeah.
Don't feel bad, Logan. I get it.
Everyone was always talking about
what my sisters were doing too.
And that is a pretty great tank,
whether your family sees it or not.
So, don't give up, okay?
Wanna see me draw a T-34?
I thought you'd never ask.
[ZAY] Someone told me recently
that if you want to impress someone,

Behavioral changes, tremors,

seizures, it's juvenile-onset
Huntington's.
We'll see.
We'll run a thorough

bloodwork.
But you'll test
the brother too, right?
I'm sorry, when did you get
admitting privileges here?
Huntington's is genetic.
So, if the sister has it,
there's a chance the brother does too.
That's a possibility,
but Kya's the one
that's showing symptoms.
But we can't just ignore
Logan because his sister's
getting attention.
Genetic testing
for Huntington's in kids
is discouraged unless they're
actively showing symptoms.
He just dropped a piece of paper.
Now, maybe that's normal kid stuff,
or maybe he's sick too,
and no one's caught it yet.
I've already discussed it with Mom.
We're not testing Logan right now.

[ZAY] But I knew I was right,
and I didn't want Logan

[ZAY] I convinced the dad
to let me take Logan's blood.
But I'm not a doctor.
I can't order tests at a lab,
and Crystal wouldn't do it.
Hey!
Crap. Oh, sorry! Precious cargo, here.
Please, go ahead.
[HAYLEY] But you didn't send it
to a lab.
You sent it to a surgeon
at Winnipeg Sinai.
And how do we know
that it was just blood
and not the kidney?
That's why I had Crystal call Sinai.
No! Crystal can't call them.
Too late! It was just blood samples.
But Zay didn't send them
to "a" surgeon,
he sent them to the Chief of Surgery.
Wait, what?
Why send them to someone so high up
if you just needed bloodwork?
Because she's his mother.
But he could have also sent it
to the ER Chief,
who's his father.
Or, one of his sisters,
who are doctors in obstetrics
and cardiology.
Wow! Some heavy hitters
in the family, eh, champ?
Zay, why didn't you tell us?
And why the hell are you here?
With connections like that,
you could work anywhere.
This is a gross overstep, Zay.
You can't just go behind
Logan's parents, behind me,
to order these things.
I didn't. I got the dad's permission.
And you know why
I wouldn't order testing?
Aside from Logan not showing symptoms?
Because his mother asked me not to.
We were waiting on her bloodwork,
because if she's not a carrier,
then we don't have to test Logan.
But his dad could be the carrier.
Only if he's Logan's biological dad.
What?
His mother told me in private.
But now, when the results
that you ordered, come back,
the truth will come out.
Crystal, I was trying to help!
No! You were trying to prove
that you were right!
Look, if we're done here,

You'll help me find a therapist?
Of course! We take care
of our own, Stef. Always.
Seen any loose kidneys
floating around?
No. You?
Nah, just lung, couple spleens.
[CHUCKLES]
What does a spleen even do? [CHUCKLES]
It filters your blood.
Makes white blood cells.
Oh, damn. Guess I shouldn't
have used mine as an airbag
when that car hit me.
I should go check on my brother.
We only have eight hours
to find this kidney,
but we've already questioned everyone.
The hangar's locked down,
everybody's looking.
We'll find it, okay?
Hey, listen, um
we're not getting a Learjet.
I found a cheaper King Air
in Quebec, so you
you can have the medics you need.
You know it's not just
about the plane, right?
Wheezer, you didn't include me
in the decision to buy it,
and you didn't think you needed to,
because you don't see me as an equal.
I do see you as an equal.
Then why are you so panicked
that I actually screwed up
this kidney?
You're so desperate to protect SkyMed,
but you don't mean protect
SkyMed, you mean protect me.
Hayley, I'm just trying
to help you find the damn thing.
Right.
Because you don't think
I can do this job
unless you do it for me.
No, I'll make my flight.
Don't worry. I promise.
I know how important this
is. I will make it happen.
Okay, I gotta go. Love you.
Sorry. I wasn't eavesdropping,
I was just, you know,
looking for a kidney.
I can't believe SkyMed
doesn't have security cameras.
I mean, someone must have seen
the kidney get unloaded off 911.
I was on the apron before
and during the spill,
but I didn't see anything.
But I think I know someone
who might have.
[PIPER] You don't need
to talk to Finn.
We just want to know
if you were on the apron
during the fuel spill?
Wyatt said he saw you
on his walkaround.
Someone do something wrong?
Not that you need to worry about, pal,
but maybe you saw something
that could help us?
He doesn't know anything
about a missing cooler,
and I'd rather you keep him
out of this.
Wait, you're looking for
a cooler? I know where it is.
I- I thought everyone was upset
about the fuel spill.
I didn't want to get anyone
in trouble,
but I saw a rampie do something
behind the truck,
and then there was just all this
fuel everywhere. I
I thought it was a mistake.
Okay, well can you
describe the rampie?
Kinda. Um, she had
a reflective vest, a hat,
and a bandana over her face.
Wait, what about the cooler?
Do you know where it is?
How does this boy know
where the kidney is?
The rampie told me to bring it here.
[WHEEZER] It's the kidney!
Oh, thank God!
[OMINOUS MUSIC PLAYING]
[HYDRAULIC WHIRRING]
[SLOW-MOTION] No!
[COOLER CRACKING]
[LOUD POP]
It's ruined!
SkyMed just destroyed a kidney!
So, now Leona's not going to
be able to have her transplant.
That means even more people
are gonna get bumped.
That organ was in your
custody, Nurse Roberts!
I've never seen anything
like this in my entire career!
[EXHALES HEAVILY]
Hayley, this wasn't your fault.
No, Wheezer, this was my mistake.
I'm the one who left the kidney
on the plane.
Carla was right, it was in my custody!
Oh, my God! [EXHALES]
I guess there was a reason
why you don't think
I could do this job.
Hayley, no, no, no, no.
If you'll excuse me,
I have to go tell a sick woman
she won't be getting a kidney today.
[SOMBER MUSIC PLAYS]
Hey, dang vending machine
gave me an extra hot chocolate.
You wouldn't happen to know
anybody who might want it,
do you?
[CHUCKLES] Okay yeah,
the hot chocolate was for me.
You want the coffee?
You know it wasn't your fault, right?
Putting the cooler on the junk pile?
Does everybody know about that?
I get it.
I know what it's like
to feel responsible
when something bad happens.
Yeah? Did you squish someone's kidney?
Look buddy, this, this isn't on you.
You just, you did what
an adult told you to do,
and sometimes adults make
bad decisions.
I just wanted to help my sister.
You know, she's been
through so much for me.
Hey, you're from a farm.
You know about animals.
If a deer got hit by a car,
would it definitely die?
Or would it be kinda hurt
but still okay?
You know, that depends where
it was hit, how hard.
Hard enough to crack a headlight?
I think the deer probably
made it out okay.
They're pretty tough.
Maybe you could tell Piper that.
She hit a deer when we got up here,
and she's been pretty upset about it.
She said it was dark,
and she was coming around a curve,
and it was just standing
there on the road.
[DOOR OPENS]
I think she's been really
worried about that deer.
I screwed up.
I just really wanted to help Amy.
But staying out late,
even if I wasn't drinking,
was bad judgement.
And I understand if
you need to let me go.
Well, you know, normally
in a situation like this,
a pilot would be sent
to treatment, or fired.
But you've shown promise as a pilot,
and Captain Martine and I
have seen nothing to indicate
that this is a pattern.
It seems to be a one time,
monumental lapse of judgement.
But you didn't put your uniform on,
and you didn't report to the hangar,
which demonstrates
that you realized that,
and you tried to correct it.
But let me make myself
crystal clear
we take things like this
very seriously.
You pull anything ever like that
again, and you are gone.
Absolutely, sir. Thank you, sir.
[DOOR OPENS]
I'm sorry.
Captain Martine,
you are the last person
I ever want to disappoint.
Look, I made some
questionable choices
when I was a greenhorn, too.
And it's still just Lexi, okay?
This isn't about not disappointing me,
it's about not disappointing yourself.
When you put on those gold bars,
it means something.
So, whatever you do,
just don't let you down.
Okay?
[LEXI EXHALES DEEPLY]
[DOOR OPENS]
Piper, this whole time,
I thought you were the one
who saved me,
but you were the one who hit me!
And I've had this crush on you
like a goddamn idiot?
Piper, I kissed you!
You let me! You knew,
and you let me kiss you?!
No, Wyatt, I-I kissed you.
I wanted to tell you.
I- I tried to tell everyone
the night it happened.
What the hell stopped you?
Because clearly, it's-it's not
because you want to protect
my feelings, 'cause it's obvious
you don't give a damn about me!
No, I was afraid!
For Finn!
After our parents died,
they sent him to a foster home.
And it got it got really bad.
I had to fight really hard
to get him out of there.
And I can't ever let him
go back there.
I did something wrong,
and if I get in trouble for that,
I deserve that.
But if I go to jail,
they're gonna take Finn away, Wyatt.
They'll send him back to that place.
[DEEP SIGH]
I won't tell anyone.
[CRIES] Thanks, Wyatt.
But, I'm not doing this for you.
I'm doing it for Finlay.
[BREATHES SHAKILY]
Wheezer says soon as you're
ready to transport Leona to TCH,
he'll lift the lockdown.
What are you doing?
I have to collect the kidney
for proper disposal.
Isn't that someone else's job?
I'm Chief Nurse, it was my mistake,
and Leona won't be getting
a kidney today because of it.
Hang on. This shouldn't be here.
Lost luggage should be kept
at dispatch.
This looks like someone's work stuff.
Is that the kidney?
What's all the pink stuff on it?
I don't know.
This should be a clean, shiny organ.
Someone's coated it in something.
This is a dead kidney.
Well, I mean, it did just get crushed.
No, no, no, this has been dead
a lot longer.
The pink stuff is just disguising it.
Okay, I'm not a specialist,
but this isn't right in here.
It seems right to me,
but I've only ever seen pig kidneys.
Farm next door to us raised pork,
and that there looks
like a pig kidney.
[REVEALING MUSIC PLAYING]

[LEONA] She really left me.

and it's all my fault.
I was trying so hard to keep her close

[SIGHS]
What if I've pushed her away forever?
[DOOR OPENS]
[HAYLEY] Wheezer!
You can't reopen the hangar.
Look, I don't have time to explain,
and I know you're
not gonna believe me.
Hey, hey, come here a second.
Look
I am a control enthusiast,
and I'm not used to sharing
this job with somebody,
especially someone I'm dating,
but Hayley,
I wouldn't be dating you
if I didn't respect
how smart and capable you are.
We are long-haul stuff, Hayley,
because I do believe in you always.
You are the person
that I believe in the most.
Okay, I'm gonna need you to
repeat all that later, okay?
All right, yeah.
Wheezer, the kidney wasn't destroyed,
but it's only viable
for a few more hours,
and I know where it is, and
I know that sounds insane but
Whatever you need, you lead the way.
[HAYLEY] Carla
you forgot your suitcase.
Oh, it's not mine.
Are you sure? It almost got
destroyed with the fake kidney.
Sorry, did you say fake kidney?
Someone left this in the junk pile
to be destroyed.
I guess they didn't need
the disguises anymore.
But it's funny, whoever it was
knew a lot about the protocols
around organ transplants.
Hmm. Well, that's not mine,
and my flight's boarding, so.
Well then, where's your suitcase?
I didn't have one.
No, you definitely did.
Zay saw you with one, remember?
[CURIOUS MUSIC PLAYING]
Oh um, that one's mine.
I think that one is yours.
[AMY] Oh, sorry.
Thought that felt a bit light.
So, where's your suitcase?
Do you wanna know
what I think happened to it?
[HAYLEY] Lexi said you came
into the locker room at 08h30,
hours before Leona was supposed
to arrive at the airport.
But why were you so early?
And what were you doing
in the locker room?
Maybe you went there
because you needed a badge
to get into Leona's hospital
room, to slip her insulin.
You must have timed it perfectly.
You knew if you forced a fuel spill,
it's SkyMed's protocol to evacuate.
And if the pilots were
distracted by the spill,
and I was distracted with Leona,
of course the kidney would be
left alone on the plane.
Now, was it an accident
that Finlay saw you
sabotage the fuel truck?
Or did you want him there
so that he could take the cooler
off the plane?
Either way, once you got
the kidney where you wanted it,
all you had to do was show up
and let us take the blame for it.
That doesn't make any sense.
The kidney was destroyed.
We all saw it happen.
Yeah, because you wanted us
to see it happen.
I mean, think about it,
no one would keep looking
for an organ we all saw get crushed!
Except the kidney
in the trash compactor
wasn't a human kidney.
It was a pig kidney.
A pig kidney?
Well then if it was a pig kidney,
then where's the real one?
Probably where you put it
in your backpack.
[HAYLEY] We'd never think
to search an empty backpack
that a DSC rep showed up wearing,
after the kidney went missing.
You even gave it to me
for safe-keeping.
It was smart.
You swapped the kidney for a fake,
wait until we found it,
and then made sure we were all
there to watch it get destroyed.
No loose ends.
And then all you had to do
was wait for Wheezer
to open up the hangar
so that you could hop on
your flight to your vacation,
where you probably have
a surgeon waiting for you,
don't you?
[POLICE SIREN]
But Carla, why?
Why would you steal an organ
when you have dedicated
your entire life to helping
people get them?
Because I was trying to help someone.
My fiancé has been
on the donor list forever.
I mean, it's how we met.
But he just keeps getting bumped.
Do you know how many people
don't live long enough
to receive a compatible organ?
Then one finally came up.
He got bumped.
And then another one came up,
and he had an infection,
and he couldn't receive it.
And then this one comes up,
and he gets bumped again.
I wasn't trying to hurt Leona.
But she's a living donor.
She will be priority
for the next kidney.
My fiancé can't wait that long.
[UNZIPS BAG]
[OFFICER] Carla Wiarton,
placing you under arrest.
[HANDCUFFS CLICK]
Well, good work, Chief Nurse Roberts.
No one's stealing an organ
on your watch.
We still have a couple hours
to get Leona to Winnipeg,
where her surgeons are standing by.
Right.
[TENDER MUSIC PLAYING]
[CRYSTAL] Zay.
Yeah, I know.
You think I'm the biggest asshole.
Huh.
But I just wanted to make sure
that the kid was gonna be okay.
Mom's bloodwork came back.
She's not a carrier.
It's likely Dad is.
And since he's not
Logan's biological father,
Logan will be okay.
Why didn't you tell me
who your parents are?
And what are you even doing here?
You can have any job
you want in Winnipeg.
Has it occurred to you that
maybe this is the job I want?
And maybe I didn't want you
to be impressed
by who my family is, Crystal.
Maybe I hoped
you'd just be impressed by me.
Finn?
I'm sorry for screwing up.
I had no idea about Wyatt.
Are you gonna get in any trouble?
Doesn't look like it. Not yet.
Now I know why you didn't
want me talking about the car.
I'm really sorry, Piper.
It's not your fault.
I'm-I'm the reason you
had to keep that secret.

[HAYLEY] The facts of the case
are as follows.
I arrived at TCH at 09h00
to pick up a 54-year-old woman
flying to Winnipeg
for a kidney transplant.
Amy? Is that you?
No, I'm Hayley. I'm your flight nurse.
Oh. My daughter used to joke
that I had laser vision,
but ever since my kidneys
started failing
Amy was supposed to be here by now.
Is she coming to Winnipeg with you?
She's late.
You'd think a
classically-trained chef would
have better time management skills.
[CHUCKLES]
[HAYLEY] Twenty years ago,
Leona donated a kidney
to her brother.
Normally, kidney donors go on
to live healthy lives.
Unfortunately, Leona got
an acute kidney infection
six months ago that put her
in chronic renal failure.
As a living donor,
she got bumped to the top
of the transplant list.
La Petite Frisee.
That's the restaurant downtown, right?
I've heard great things.
Oh, I'd like to think so, but
as the owner, I'm a bit biased.
Oh, no way?
My boyfriend and I have been
meaning to go for ages.
Is your daughter the chef?
Well, we're both chefs,
but Amy trained in Paris.
I can give her a call, if you'd like?
I can have her meet us at the airport?
Oh, thank you. I appreciate that.
Yeah, of course.
[HAYLEY] The patient and I
arrived at YTH at 10h00,
as scheduled.
The pilots were doing
preflight checks.
[CURIOUS MUSIC PLAYING]
Um, I'll be, I'll be right back.
[HAYLEY] Crystal arrived
with the kidney at 10h30.
As a resident,
she'd been invited to Kenora
to observe the retrieval
and escort the organ.
But
Crap! Are they still not here?
Nope.
Oh. I'm supposed to
sign this cooler over
to a Donor Screening Canada rep
before I can go.
But I need to get back to TCH.
I promised a patient I'd discharge him
before his son's graduation.
Well, I can take the organ
into my custody as Chief Nurse
until the rep gets here.
Oh. You're the best.
- Okay. See ya later?
- Yeah.
My daughter's still not here yet.
Why don't I try calling Amy again?
Thank you.
Uh, can you tell Chief Nurse Roberts
that if her patient's
secure, we're ready to go
as soon as we finish fueling.
I-I know it's my first day
back from a head injury,
but Hayley's right, right there. Okay.
Uh, Hayley, Wheezer

It's SkyMed protocol to evacuate

Okay, well help me unload the patient.
I have to give her D50 on the move.
[HAYLEY] We got Leona safely
off the plane.
Dextrose works fast,
so I was able to stabilize her.
But then I realized,
in all the excitement
The kidney!
Uh, Zay?
Can you watch my patient?
She just had a diabetic incident,
but I need to get back to the plane.
Okay.
[HAYLEY] But while we were distracted
evacuating the patient, somehow
[CURIOUS MUSIC BUILDING]
the kidney went missing off 911.
[WHEEZER] We immediately
started searching,
but when the Donor Screening
Canada rep arrived
You lost a kidney?
We had to evacuate the plane.
The patient needed emergency care.
Well, that patient is
a living donor, Ms. Roberts.
That's why she was bumped to
the top of the recipient list.
I know.
Do you know how long it takes
for most people to get a kidney?
It's only viable for 13 more hours.
If we don't find it by then
We will.
As Chief Nurse, the kidney
was in your custody.
It was and
I understand that that means
that I was responsible for it.
But the kidney is not lost,
it was just misplaced.
And I've closed down the hangar.
We're looking for it.
[EXHALES]
Of course this happens
on the day I am supposed to go
on my first vacation in five years.
All right, I'll help you look.
Where can I put my stuff?
Um, I can take it

Okay, just don't lose it.
Like you lost the kidney.
Yeah, well, the kidney isn't lost.
What if it is, Wheezer?
Nothing has landed
or taken off since the spill.
And I shut down the hangar
as soon as we realized
it was missing.
It's here, Hayley. Okay?
We'll find it.
[HAYLEY] I let Leona know
we were delayed,
but the way her sugars crashed
earlier worried me.
A lot of kidney recipients
are diabetic,
so fluctuations wouldn't be
uncommon for them.
But I'm not diabetic.
I needed a new kidney
because of an infection.
And you haven't had anything
to eat or drink today?
Not before surgery.
I wouldn't risk not getting my kidney.
Will this sugar thing affect that?
It shouldn't. Um
but you haven't had any
medications or anything
you don't normally have?
Just my usual pills and whatever
the other flight nurse gave me.
What other flight nurse?
The one who came into my room
before you.
She put something in my IV.
[HAYLEY] The only medication
that can make
a person's sugar drop like that
is insulin.
But there was no record
of anyone giving Leona insulin
at TCH.
Which meant it was either an accident,
or someone didn't want us to know.
Could you describe
the other flight nurse?
She was wearing a baseball hat.
I thought that was odd. And
[AMY] Mom! I thought I'd miss you.
Amy, where have you been?
And why haven't you been
answering your phone?
I had a meeting this morning.
Well, I manage the restaurant
schedule.
You didn't have anything booked.
Is my mom okay? What's going on?
Yeah, she's going to be
fine. I'll just, um
[HAYLEY] I explained the delay,
but it worried me,
who was the other flight nurse,
and why did she give Leona insulin?
[WHEEZER] As Chief Pilot,
I needed to know what caused
the fuel spill.
The rampie had done
all the proper safety checks,
but when I inspected the fuel truck
Every fuel truck has a de-fuel
valve with a safety wire
to lock it in place.
[MAYA] Someone cut the wire?
But that means the fuel
spill was on purpose.
And if someone gave Leona
insulin on purpose
to cause an emergency
We think this was
orchestrated as a diversion
to get us off 911.
We didn't lose the kidney.
It was stolen.
But who would steal a kidney?
It's not like you can
walk into a hospital
and not get questioned.
There's always a way.
Especially for something
as valuable as a kidney.
Look, all that matters
right now is Leona, okay?
She needs that kidney to live,
and we have 12 hours to find it
while it's still viable.
And we need to protect SkyMed.
We cannot be known
as the air ambulance company
that loses organs.
And you were all in the hangar

She was never gonna give it to me.
She is so sick she can hardly see,
and she still won't let me help!
I've proven that I'm capable
over and over again.
I don't feel like I'm living my life.
I don't feel like I'm living at all!
I know how easy it is to wake
up and realize someone else
has taken over your life,
and every second feels like
you are losing more and more
of who you are.
But it's your life.
You need to take control
and do something.
- I've thought about it.
- Yeah.
I even came up with a plan,
starting tomorrow.
But it's drastic.
[MAYA] Then be drastic!
You can't lose yourself
because you let someone else
control you.
You are right.
If my mom isn't going to
give me the restaurant,
I have to take what I need.
[MAYA] Hell, yeah.
Let's have another drink.
Get you some courage.
Hey, I'm heading out now.
Remember, 12 hours from bottle
to throttle.
So, you should bail soon, too.
Totally. I just want to
make sure she's okay,
and then I'm right behind you.
Okay.
[LEXI] But the conversation
stuck with me.
Amy was gonna do something drastic.
Maybe she took her mom's kidney
so Leona couldn't have the transplant,
and Amy would get the restaurant?
Amy arrived after
the kidney was stolen,
so she would have had time
to board the plane and take it.
And Leona can't see very well,
so she wouldn't have been able
to tell her daughter apart
from a flight nurse.
All right, let's see what Maya knows.
No, you can't.
Lexi, what's with you and Maya?
[SIGHS]
Can I talk to you for a second?
- It's pilot business.
- Yeah.
And the missing kidney
is medical business.
So, unless Wheezer has a medical
degree I'm not aware of,
you can speak to the both of us.
[HESITATES]
[LEXI] Our check-in time
was 8:30 this morning.
But when I got to the hangar
[DOORS CRASH OPEN]
I know, I know. I'm sorry I'm late.
I had to fight for the shower
this morning.
You okay?
[EXHALES] Yeah. Just tired.
Amy needed cheering up
so we went dancing.
- You stayed out?
- Mm-hmm.
I thought I told you to go
home when I was leaving?
Pilots are supposed to stop drinking
12 hours before reporting for duty.
And I did. At least
12 hours ago, yeah.
But did you get any sleep?
I had a hot shower
and drank a ton of coffee.
Maya, you can not show up
to fly under the influence.
I'm not. I'm just a little hungover.
Yeah, being hungover
is being under the influence.
Even just being tired can be
considered being unfit to fly.
You haven't slept.
You smell like alcohol.
You're not flying today, Maya.
You're not in control.
No! You just want to
control me. I'm fine!
Stop!
The moment you put
that flight suit on,
the closer you get to the plane,
the more you demonstrate
intent to fly,
the less I can do to help you.
I am fine!
It's the law, Maya!
You made a dumb mistake,
but we can still fix it.
[DOORS CRASH OPEN]
Excuse me. I was looking for
Chief Nurse Roberts?
She went to go pick up a patient.
Uh, someone at dispatch can help you.
Okay.
[LEXI] I told Maya to go home
and wait until I could talk to you,
but I didn't want to do it
in front of anyone else.
You did the right thing, Lex.
And what Maya did was bad judgment,
but I think that's all it was,
bad judgment.
She's young,
she made a stupid mistake,
but she is a good pilot.
Well, that means a lot
coming from you,
but I still gotta talk to her.
I'll talk to Amy while you find Maya.
Well, I'm coming with you.
Maya can wait.
What, you don't trust me
to handle Amy?
The kidney's only got 11 more hours.
We need to find it for Leona,
and for SkyMed. I'm coming.
[SIGHS]
I don't understand,
why does it matter where I was
this morning?
I was here in time to go to Winnipeg.
Uh, maybe we should talk
somewhere else?
No, it matters because
you were at a bar last night
telling people how much
you resent Leona
for controlling you.
It matters because you told
people you have a drastic plan
to take her restaurant
Is that true, Amy?
I had an interview for a
restaurant in Brandon at 10 AM.
And I got here early to do it
in my car over Zoom.
But it ran long,
so that's why I was late.
Not that that's any of your business.
You know, my job
is to protect our patients
and SkyMed.
So it is my business,
because now her kidney's missing.
Amy, you interviewed
at another restaurant?
Really, Mom?
I'm a good chef, but you don't
trust me to do anything.
You are not going
to another restaurant.
You are staying with me.
Did you say my mom's
kidney is missing?
What?!
I thought this was
a maintenance delay?
It it is, but the cooler with your-
with your kidney has
been temporarily misplaced.
How do you misplace a kidney?
I saw someone here earlier
with a cooler of biomaterial
to send to the surgeon.
I thought that was my mom's kidney.
He sent it to Winnipeg.
Uh, what did he look like?
Oof! What the hell is going on?
What was in that cooler of biomaterial
you sent to that
surgeon in Winnipeg, Zay?
Ohhhh shit.
[ZAY] I can explain about the cooler.
Ten-year-old, Kya Smith,
has a recent history
of clumsiness and tremors.
When I picked her up
after a seizure this morning
We'll run a full neurological workup.
We'll admit her for the night, okay?
Hey Dad, look! It's a Sherman!
[DAD] Not now, Logan.
But it's my best one yet!
Not now.
Well, hey, that
that is a pretty cool drawing.
No, it isn't. Dad doesn't like it.
No, I'm sure-I'm sure he's
gonna love it when he has time
to look at it.
They never have time.
Not since Kya got sick.
Um, can you go get Kya
and Logan something to drink?
I think there's a vending
machine down the hall. Yeah.
Can I speak to you about something?
Of course, yeah.
Don't feel bad, Logan. I get it.
Everyone was always talking about
what my sisters were doing too.
And that is a pretty great tank,
whether your family sees it or not.
So, don't give up, okay?
Wanna see me draw a T-34?
I thought you'd never ask.
[ZAY] Someone told me recently
that if you want to impress someone,
find out what they think
is impressive, and do that.
And I figured out a pretty
impressive diagnosis today.
Behavioral changes, tremors,
cognitive decline,
seizures, it's juvenile-onset
Huntington's.
We'll see.
We'll run a thorough
neurological assessment,
bloodwork.
But you'll test
the brother too, right?
I'm sorry, when did you get
admitting privileges here?
Huntington's is genetic.
So, if the sister has it,
there's a chance the brother does too.
That's a possibility,
but Kya's the one
that's showing symptoms.
But we can't just ignore
Logan because his sister's
getting attention.
Genetic testing
for Huntington's in kids
is discouraged unless they're
actively showing symptoms.
He just dropped a piece of paper.
Now, maybe that's normal kid stuff,
or maybe he's sick too,
and no one's caught it yet.
I've already discussed it with Mom.
We're not testing Logan right now.
Crystal, you know I'm right.
You got Kya here safely.
They're not your patients
anymore. Leave it!
[MISCHIEVOUS MUSIC PLAYING]
[ZAY] But I knew I was right,
and I didn't want Logan
to get overlooked
because of his sister.
Mr. Smith, can I talk to you
for a second?
[ZAY] I convinced the dad
to let me take Logan's blood.
But I'm not a doctor.
I can't order tests at a lab,
and Crystal wouldn't do it.
Hey!
Crap. Oh, sorry! Precious cargo, here.
Please, go ahead.
[HAYLEY] But you didn't send it
to a lab.
You sent it to a surgeon
at Winnipeg Sinai.
And how do we know
that it was just blood
and not the kidney?
That's why I had Crystal call Sinai.
No! Crystal can't call them.
Too late! It was just blood samples.
But Zay didn't send them
to "a" surgeon,
he sent them to the Chief of Surgery.
Wait, what?
Why send them to someone so high up
if you just needed bloodwork?
Because she's his mother.
But he could have also sent it
to the ER Chief,
who's his father.
Or, one of his sisters,
who are doctors in obstetrics
and cardiology.
Wow! Some heavy hitters
in the family, eh, champ?
Zay, why didn't you tell us?
And why the hell are you here?
With connections like that,
you could work anywhere.
This is a gross overstep, Zay.
You can't just go behind
Logan's parents, behind me,
to order these things.
I didn't. I got the dad's permission.
And you know why
I wouldn't order testing?
Aside from Logan not showing symptoms?
Because his mother asked me not to.
We were waiting on her bloodwork,
because if she's not a carrier,
then we don't have to test Logan.
But his dad could be the carrier.
Only if he's Logan's biological dad.
What?
His mother told me in private.
But now, when the results
that you ordered, come back,
the truth will come out.
Crystal, I was trying to help!
No! You were trying to prove
that you were right!
Look, if we're done here,
I'm pretty sure my shift ended
Good for you, but don't
leave the hangar for now.
[DOORS CRASH OPEN]
So I checked Leona's records at TCH.
Flight medics,
they have to use their badges
to access patient rooms.
And Stef's was used to access Leona's.
I put Stef on leave. What
what was she doing in TCH,
in Leona's room?
No, that's not possible.
I haven't used my badge
since I was put on leave.
It's right here in my locker.
[MYSTERIOUS MUSIC PLAYING]
No, I left it right here.
I haven't been sleeping lately.
And something happened this morning.
[MYSTERIOUS MUSIC PEAKS]
[STEF] I wasn't happy
about being put on leave.
All this time off, with nothing to do,
was just making me feel worse.
But I was trying to keep busy, so
[DOOR OPENS] [FIREMAN] Hello?
Sorry, the door was open.
I'm here to inspect
the smoke detectors.
Oh, I didn't know that was today.
Yeah, come on in. There's-
there's one in the kitchen.
[STEF] As he came in,
I noticed he had a limp.
But when I asked him about it
[SIGHS] It's this stupid ankle.
There was a big blaze downtown
last week,
and I tripped on a beam
and strained it.
Ah.
I didn't want to tell
anybody and get benched, so
Pushed through. Kept working.
But the stupid thing gave out
on me on some stairs,
a couple days later.
Right in front of my supervisor.
Huh.
So, here I am, smoke detector duty.
[CHUCKLES]
Uh, there's one more detector in here,
but it's pretty high up.
Huh.
Uh, mind if I borrow this?
I'm not sure you should be
climbing on that ankle.
Oh, come on.
I'm already losing my mind
with this probie stuff.
I'll spot you. Okay?
[FIREMAN GRUNTS]
[MYSTERIOUS MUSIC]
There. See? Piece of cake.
[LADDER CLUNKS, FIREMAN GRUNTS]
[GROANS]
Are you okay? You all right?
This stupid ankle.
[WINCES]
Woah, hey, your arm. You're bleeding.
Okay. This needs stitches.
Uh, no, it's fine. I'll just wrap it.
Look, that ankle won't heal
until you let it rest.
I know that you're used
to being the hero,
but I'm a medical professional.
This? It won't just stop
bleeding on its own.
[DISAPPROVING EXHALE]
Look, if a person was on fire,
and you tried to put them out
and they said,
"Nah, it'll go out on its own",
would you be okay with that?
[STEF] I convinced him
to go to the hospital.
But when we got there
Uh, just wait here, okay?
Yeah.
- Got it?
- Yeah.
I need some stitches done
with Dr. Highway.
I'm a SkyMed flight medic.
I should have my ID here.
Oh, it must be in my locker.
Um, you might want to check on
the patient.
He's bleeding through that towel.
What patient?
[MYSTERIOUS MUSIC PLAYING]
Uh what? D-did he leave?
Maybe you should have a seat.
Why? I need to go find my patient.
Because you've lost a lot of blood.
Um
[PUZZLED MUSIC TRILLS]
[STAMMERS]
But there was a firefighter.
He was just here.
There was nobody that came in
with you, hon.
I think you should sit.
No, I have to go.
[STEF] But Hayley,
if I could be confused
about something like that
maybe I was the one who
gave that poor woman insulin?
[MYSTERIOUS MUSIC PEAKS]
When was the last time you slept?
I can't.
I I try to go to sleep,
but I just
my brain won't shut off.
But then when I'm awake,
I'm just so foggy.
This isn't me. I'm,
I'm the person who helps people.
I'm not the person who needs help.
What about the patient?
Did Crystal find out if I
Leona said that the person
who gave her insulin
was wearing a baseball hat,
and a nurse at TCH saw somebody
go into her room this morning
wearing a hat and flight suit,
except she had a long ponytail.
Wasn't you, Stef.
[RELIEVED EXHALE]
Hayley, what if I'm broken?
You are not broken. You're exhausted.
Crystal is going to
send a prescription
so you can get some rest tonight.
And in the morning,
I think we find you a therapist.
I'm sorry, Hayley.
After what happened today,
you did the right thing,
putting me on leave.
I don't know how to fix this, Hayley.
You don't have to.
You just have to know the next step.
You'll help me find a therapist?
Of course! We take care
of our own, Stef. Always.
Seen any loose kidneys
floating around?
No. You?
Nah, just lung, couple spleens.
[CHUCKLES]
What does a spleen even do? [CHUCKLES]
It filters your blood.
Makes white blood cells.
Oh, damn. Guess I shouldn't
have used mine as an airbag
when that car hit me.
I should go check on my brother.
We only have eight hours
to find this kidney,
but we've already questioned everyone.
The hangar's locked down,
everybody's looking.
We'll find it, okay?
Hey, listen, um
we're not getting a Learjet.
I found a cheaper King Air
in Quebec, so you
you can have the medics you need.
You know it's not just
about the plane, right?
Wheezer, you didn't include me
in the decision to buy it,
and you didn't think you needed to,
because you don't see me as an equal.
I do see you as an equal.
Then why are you so panicked
that I actually screwed up
this kidney?
You're so desperate to protect SkyMed,
but you don't mean protect
SkyMed, you mean protect me.
Hayley, I'm just trying
to help you find the damn thing.
Right.
Because you don't think
I can do this job
unless you do it for me.
No, I'll make my flight.
Don't worry. I promise.
I know how important this
is. I will make it happen.
Okay, I gotta go. Love you.
Sorry. I wasn't eavesdropping,
I was just, you know,
looking for a kidney.
I can't believe SkyMed
doesn't have security cameras.
I mean, someone must have seen
the kidney get unloaded off 911.
I was on the apron before
and during the spill,
but I didn't see anything.
But I think I know someone
who might have.
[PIPER] You don't need
to talk to Finn.
We just want to know
if you were on the apron
during the fuel spill?
Wyatt said he saw you
on his walkaround.
Someone do something wrong?
Not that you need to worry about, pal,
but maybe you saw something
that could help us?
He doesn't know anything
about a missing cooler,
and I'd rather you keep him
out of this.
Wait, you're looking for
a cooler? I know where it is.
I- I thought everyone was upset
about the fuel spill.
I didn't want to get anyone
in trouble,
but I saw a rampie do something
behind the truck,
and then there was just all this
fuel everywhere. I
I thought it was a mistake.
Okay, well can you
describe the rampie?
Kinda. Um, she had
a reflective vest, a hat,
and a bandana over her face.
Wait, what about the cooler?
Do you know where it is?
How does this boy know
where the kidney is?
The rampie told me to bring it here.
[WHEEZER] It's the kidney!
Oh, thank God!
[OMINOUS MUSIC PLAYING]
[HYDRAULIC WHIRRING]
[SLOW-MOTION] No!
[COOLER CRACKING]
[LOUD POP]
It's ruined!
SkyMed just destroyed a kidney!
So, now Leona's not going to
be able to have her transplant.
That means even more people
are gonna get bumped.
That organ was in your
custody, Nurse Roberts!
I've never seen anything
like this in my entire career!
[EXHALES HEAVILY]
Hayley, this wasn't your fault.
No, Wheezer, this was my mistake.
I'm the one who left the kidney
on the plane.
Carla was right, it was in my custody!
Oh, my God! [EXHALES]
I guess there was a reason
why you don't think
I could do this job.
Hayley, no, no, no, no.
If you'll excuse me,
I have to go tell a sick woman
she won't be getting a kidney today.
[SOMBER MUSIC PLAYS]
Hey, dang vending machine
gave me an extra hot chocolate.
You wouldn't happen to know
anybody who might want it,
do you?
[CHUCKLES] Okay yeah,
the hot chocolate was for me.
You want the coffee?
You know it wasn't your fault, right?
Putting the cooler on the junk pile?
Does everybody know about that?
I get it.
I know what it's like
to feel responsible
when something bad happens.
Yeah? Did you squish someone's kidney?
Look buddy, this, this isn't on you.
You just, you did what
an adult told you to do,
and sometimes adults make
bad decisions.
I just wanted to help my sister.
You know, she's been
through so much for me.
Hey, you're from a farm.
You know about animals.
If a deer got hit by a car,
would it definitely die?
Or would it be kinda hurt
but still okay?
You know, that depends where
it was hit, how hard.
Hard enough to crack a headlight?
I think the deer probably
made it out okay.
They're pretty tough.
Maybe you could tell Piper that.
She hit a deer when we got up here,
and she's been pretty upset about it.
She said it was dark,
and she was coming around a curve,
and it was just standing
there on the road.
[DOOR OPENS]
I think she's been really
worried about that deer.
I screwed up.
I just really wanted to help Amy.
But staying out late,
even if I wasn't drinking,
was bad judgement.
And I understand if
you need to let me go.
Well, you know, normally
in a situation like this,
a pilot would be sent
to treatment, or fired.
But you've shown promise as a pilot,
and Captain Martine and I
have seen nothing to indicate
that this is a pattern.
It seems to be a one time,
monumental lapse of judgement.
But you didn't put your uniform on,
and you didn't report to the hangar,
which demonstrates
that you realized that,
and you tried to correct it.
But let me make myself
crystal clear
we take things like this
very seriously.
You pull anything ever like that
again, and you are gone.
Absolutely, sir. Thank you, sir.
[DOOR OPENS]
I'm sorry.
Captain Martine,
you are the last person
I ever want to disappoint.
Look, I made some
questionable choices
when I was a greenhorn, too.
And it's still just Lexi, okay?
This isn't about not disappointing me,
it's about not disappointing yourself.
When you put on those gold bars,
it means something.
So, whatever you do,
just don't let you down.
Okay?
[LEXI EXHALES DEEPLY]
[DOOR OPENS]
Piper, this whole time,
I thought you were the one
who saved me,
but you were the one who hit me!
And I've had this crush on you
like a goddamn idiot?
Piper, I kissed you!
You let me! You knew,
and you let me kiss you?!
No, Wyatt, I-I kissed you.
I wanted to tell you.
I- I tried to tell everyone
the night it happened.
What the hell stopped you?
Because clearly, it's-it's not
because you want to protect
my feelings, 'cause it's obvious
you don't give a damn about me!
No, I was afraid!
For Finn!
After our parents died,
they sent him to a foster home.
And it got it got really bad.
I had to fight really hard
to get him out of there.
And I can't ever let him
go back there.
I did something wrong,
and if I get in trouble for that,
I deserve that.
But if I go to jail,
they're gonna take Finn away, Wyatt.
They'll send him back to that place.
[DEEP SIGH]
I won't tell anyone.
[CRIES] Thanks, Wyatt.
But, I'm not doing this for you.
I'm doing it for Finlay.
[BREATHES SHAKILY]
Wheezer says soon as you're
ready to transport Leona to TCH,
he'll lift the lockdown.
What are you doing?
I have to collect the kidney
for proper disposal.
Isn't that someone else's job?
I'm Chief Nurse, it was my mistake,
and Leona won't be getting
a kidney today because of it.
Hang on. This shouldn't be here.
Lost luggage should be kept
at dispatch.
This looks like someone's work stuff.
Is that the kidney?
What's all the pink stuff on it?
I don't know.
This should be a clean, shiny organ.
Someone's coated it in something.
This is a dead kidney.
Well, I mean, it did just get crushed.
No, no, no, this has been dead
a lot longer.
The pink stuff is just disguising it.
Okay, I'm not a specialist,
but this isn't right in here.
It seems right to me,
but I've only ever seen pig kidneys.
Farm next door to us raised pork,
and that there looks
like a pig kidney.
[REVEALING MUSIC PLAYING]
I have to find Wheezer.
[LEONA] She really left me.
Amy isn't coming,
and it's all my fault.
I was trying so hard to keep her close
that I never let her be my equal.
[SIGHS]
What if I've pushed her away forever?
[DOOR OPENS]
[HAYLEY] Wheezer!
You can't reopen the hangar.
Look, I don't have time to explain,
and I know you're
not gonna believe me.
Hey, hey, come here a second.
Look
I am a control enthusiast,
and I'm not used to sharing
this job with somebody,
especially someone I'm dating,
but Hayley,
I wouldn't be dating you
if I didn't respect
how smart and capable you are.
We are long-haul stuff, Hayley,
because I do believe in you always.
You are the person
that I believe in the most.
Okay, I'm gonna need you to
repeat all that later, okay?
All right, yeah.
Wheezer, the kidney wasn't destroyed,
but it's only viable
for a few more hours,
and I know where it is, and
I know that sounds insane but
Whatever you need, you lead the way.
[HAYLEY] Carla
you forgot your suitcase.
Oh, it's not mine.
Are you sure? It almost got
destroyed with the fake kidney.
Sorry, did you say fake kidney?
Someone left this in the junk pile
to be destroyed.
I guess they didn't need
the disguises anymore.
But it's funny, whoever it was
knew a lot about the protocols
around organ transplants.
Hmm. Well, that's not mine,
and my flight's boarding, so.
Well then, where's your suitcase?
I didn't have one.
No, you definitely did.
Zay saw you with one, remember?
[CURIOUS MUSIC PLAYING]
Oh um, that one's mine.
I think that one is yours.
[AMY] Oh, sorry.
Thought that felt a bit light.
So, where's your suitcase?
Do you wanna know
what I think happened to it?
[HAYLEY] Lexi said you came
into the locker room at 08h30,
hours before Leona was supposed
to arrive at the airport.
But why were you so early?
And what were you doing
in the locker room?
Maybe you went there
because you needed a badge
to get into Leona's hospital
room, to slip her insulin.
You must have timed it perfectly.
You knew if you forced a fuel spill,
it's SkyMed's protocol to evacuate.
And if the pilots were
distracted by the spill,
and I was distracted with Leona,
of course the kidney would be
left alone on the plane.
Now, was it an accident
that Finlay saw you
sabotage the fuel truck?
Or did you want him there
so that he could take the cooler
off the plane?
Either way, once you got
the kidney where you wanted it,
all you had to do was show up
and let us take the blame for it.
That doesn't make any sense.
The kidney was destroyed.
We all saw it happen.
Yeah, because you wanted us
to see it happen.
I mean, think about it,
no one would keep looking
for an organ we all saw get crushed!
Except the kidney
in the trash compactor
wasn't a human kidney.
It was a pig kidney.
A pig kidney?
Well then if it was a pig kidney,
then where's the real one?
Probably where you put it
in your backpack.
[HAYLEY] We'd never think
to search an empty backpack
that a DSC rep showed up wearing,
after the kidney went missing.
You even gave it to me
for safe-keeping.
It was smart.
You swapped the kidney for a fake,
wait until we found it,
and then made sure we were all
there to watch it get destroyed.
No loose ends.
And then all you had to do
was wait for Wheezer
to open up the hangar
so that you could hop on
your flight to your vacation,
where you probably have
a surgeon waiting for you,
don't you?
[POLICE SIREN]
But Carla, why?
Why would you steal an organ
when you have dedicated
your entire life to helping
people get them?
Because I was trying to help someone.
My fiancé has been
on the donor list forever.
I mean, it's how we met.
But he just keeps getting bumped.
Do you know how many people
don't live long enough
to receive a compatible organ?
Then one finally came up.
He got bumped.
And then another one came up,
and he had an infection,
and he couldn't receive it.
And then this one comes up,
and he gets bumped again.
I wasn't trying to hurt Leona.
But she's a living donor.
She will be priority
for the next kidney.
My fiancé can't wait that long.
[UNZIPS BAG]
[OFFICER] Carla Wiarton,
placing you under arrest.
[HANDCUFFS CLICK]
Well, good work, Chief Nurse Roberts.
No one's stealing an organ
on your watch.
We still have a couple hours
to get Leona to Winnipeg,
where her surgeons are standing by.
Right.

[CRYSTAL] Zay.
Yeah, I know.
You think I'm the biggest asshole.
Huh.
But I just wanted to make sure
that the kid was gonna be okay.
Mom's bloodwork came back.
She's not a carrier.
It's likely Dad is.
And since he's not
Logan's biological father,
Logan will be okay.
Why didn't you tell me
who your parents are?
And what are you even doing here?
You can have any job
you want in Winnipeg.
Has it occurred to you that
maybe this is the job I want?
And maybe I didn't want you
to be impressed
by who my family is, Crystal.
Maybe I hoped
you'd just be impressed by me.
Finn?
I'm sorry for screwing up.
I had no idea about Wyatt.
Are you gonna get in any trouble?
Doesn't look like it. Not yet.
Now I know why you didn't
want me talking about the car.
I'm really sorry, Piper.
It's not your fault.
I'm-I'm the reason you
had to keep that secret.
Hey
I would do anything to keep you safe.
That's not gonna change, okay?
Don't worry, Finn.
They still don't know
the truth about you.
