[CAR DOOR SLAMS, ENGINE TURNS OVER]
You okay?
Yep. Just hate goodbyes.
Do you have any Advil?
I already feel sore
from lifting boxes all day.
Yeah, on the counter, to
the right of the stove, there.
[PILLS RATTLING]
Your sister really
appreciates your help.
I don't believe any of this would be
happening if you weren't here.
She called the divorce
lawyer on her own.
She, you know, listed the
house, called the movers.
She's figuring it out.
Yeah, I I mean, going to Dallas,
getting away from her useless husband.
Yeah. I'm glad she listened, but
just a fresh start is what she needs.
Uh, sit with me for a minute.
Uh, Dad, I got to get going.
- My flight leaves
- It'll be a while.
You got time.
Uh, I need to say something to you.
Okay.
I'm, uh
I'm sorry for everything I said
when we got into that fight at
the fish restaurant in New York.
Okay.
When a man gets old,
he starts to take stock
of things, and, uh
I know I wasn't the best father
when you were growing up.
Dad, I just don't want to
do this right now, honestly.
Can we just leave it alone?
- Nina, please, this
- I need to go.
This is really important to me, please.
Now, I I know I failed you.
I mean, you basically raised
yourself and your sister too.
And instead of being
in denial about that, I
I should be thankful, and I am.
I am.
You are an amazing woman, Nina.
I mean, you're a caretaker,
and you're so damn resilient.
And you do things the way
you want to do them.
And that's what I really admire.
[SOFT MUSIC]
I mean, if you want to raise
a family without being married,
who am I to judge?
I mean, you'd be
a hell of a lot better at it
than I ever was, that's for sure.
Thanks, Dad.
Do you know when I'm happiest?
It's when somebody asks me what you do.
And I say, my daughter is an FBI agent
with the Fugitive Task Force
in New York City.
And my heart just swells.
Nina, I am so dang proud of you.
And I hope, uh I pray
that you can forgive me for
never saying that until now.

I forgave you a long time ago, Dad.
I love you so much.
You, too, baby girl.
Don't ever forget that.
Yeah.
Thank you.
I know that couldn't have been easy.
Well, it's, uh, not
exactly how I practiced it,
but I reckon it came out okay.
It did.
[LAUGHTER]
What are you doing?
I'm gonna call my Uber, Dad.
- I have to go.
- No, no, no.
You're not taking an Uber.
I'm taking you to the airport.
Okay.
Is that why you didn't
have a beer with dinner?
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
I was suffering through
every minute of it.
- [LAUGHS]
- It's fine.
It'll be waiting for you here
when you get back.
[LAUGHS]
ALL: Hey, hey, ho, ho!
BOGO has got to go! Hey, hey!
The standoff began Wednesday morning
when six federal employees
of the Government Services
Administration Office
inside this building
received notice they
were being laid off.
Attorneys for the employees
claim the firings are illegal,
and for the last two days,
they have refused
to vacate their office.
But that all changed 20 minutes ago
when U.S. Marshals arrived here
with a team from the Federal
Bureau of Government Oversight
and their private security.
Sources tell us the U.S.
Marshals have been ordered
to remove the employees
by any means necessary
so the BOGO team can enter
and do its work.
Are you ready?
I think so.
Ooh, this might be the most
exciting thing I've ever done.
And just remember what we said.
Okay.
Nice and slow until I tell you, go.
Okay. [WHISTLE BLOWING]
Ma'am, stop the car.
Ma'am, ma'am, stop the car.
Ma'am, stop your car!
ALL: BOGO has got to go!
[SHOUTING]
Give it to 'em!
[PROTESTORS CHEERING]
- [GUNSHOTS]
- Get down!
- Get down!
- Saquon!
- Whoa!
- [GUNSHOTS]
[TENSE MUSIC]
- Whoa!
- Go, go, go!
What the hell was that?
Did you guys see that?

Are you going to the
soft opening of Remy
and Abby's restaurant this weekend?
There is free booze and food.
- I will be there.
- [LAUGHS] Okay.
Oh, and Barnes said it's
Remy's birthday coming up,
so we should figure out something
we can all pitch in and get him.
Well, I mean, he's not
really a birthday guy,
but I'm down for whatever.
At least a cake?
Oh, yeah.
[LAUGHS]
- Where's Remy and Sheryll?
- In the office.
Been in there for, like, a half hour.
I don't know what's going on.
Well, it's gonna have to wait.
A government worker just got shot
outside a federal building.
Sorry to interrupt. We have a situation.
[SUSPENSEFUL MUSIC]
Saquon, what were you even thinking?
We were just supposed to
cause a little good trouble
and you start shooting?
I don't know what happened.
I I got I got excited.
Where'd you even get a gun?
It's my cousin's.
I was just trying to scare them.
I didn't hit anybody.
I don't care, I don't care.
This is ridiculous. I am pulling over.
Judy, no. We need to keep going.
[BRAKES SQUEAL]
Get out!
Get out of my car!
Judy, just chill.
Oh, I'm not gonna chill.
After everything that I've done for you,
this is how you behave?
Did you forget what they did to us,
everything we talked about
these last few months?
They screwed us, Judy.
Throwing a bunch of balloons
isn't gonna help.
I was I was trying
to make a statement.
All right, I'm gonna go to the police.
- No, no, no, no.
- Yes, I yes.
I'm gonna leave you here,
and I'm gonna tell
them everything that happened.
Judy, please.
You can't do that.
I don't want to go back to jail.
Well, maybe you should
have thought about that.
Just take me to my Auntie Kay's.
You you can leave me there,
and I'll figure out what to do,
but you can't just leave me here.
I'm begging you. Please.
Look, I I know I made
a mistake, and I'm sorry.
[SIGHS]
Where does your aunt live?
In Queens. It's not too far, I promise.
[BREATHING HEAVILY]
I'll take you there under one condition.
You give me the gun.
You won't call the police?
Oh, don't try my patience.
Just give me the gun.
[TENSE MUSIC]

[POLICE SIREN WAILING]
Thanks.
Witnesses saw a blue sedan pull away.
No eyes on the driver, but
there was a young Black male
in the back seat.
He's the one that threw the
paint balloons, and fired the shots.
- Did you ID the victim?
- Yep. Aiko Wu.
She's a 27-year-old Asian female.
She was one of the BOGO team
members waiting to go inside.
What's the status?
He's in surgery at Mount Sinai.
Gunshot wound to the head and neck.
Guys.
The cameraman caught the car leaving.
All right. Can you play that back?
Okay.
All right, so the kid in the back,
he's the one that does the shooting,
but there's not enough for facial rec.
You run the plates?
Yes, they're registered to a Judy King,
white woman, 54 years old, from Tenafly.
No spouse, no kids.
Her occupation is listed
as grant writer.
Well, she could be our driver.
What, do you think she used her own car
- for a drive-by shooting?
- You can't explain stupid.
You two head to Tenafly.
See what you can find.
What about the rest
of the BOGO team members?
Marshal said they're
inside of the GSA Office
with security.
All right, send me that photo.
Canvass for street cams.
See if we can find
a better image on that kid.
Barnes, with me.
[SPEAKING INDISTINCTLY]
Thank you.
Hey.
Uh, listen, I gotta go.
Agent Scott and Barnes, FBI.
Patesh, team leader, and that's Kyle.
How's Aiko?
She's in surgery, but we're hopeful.
Did you two know her well?
Not really.
They just put our team
together a few weeks ago.
Do you know this woman?
We think she may have
been driving the car.
- No.
- Never seen her before.
And what do you guys do up here?
I'm not familiar with the GSA.
They handle logistics
and property management.
Basically, they're the landlord
for the entire federal government.
We were told this office is being closed
because of poor management.
Our orders are to audit
the books, the computers,
file a report,
and go back to D.C. tonight.
And you can do all that in one day?
I don't know.
That's just what they told us to do.
Look, I'm just an out-of-work
tech guy who needed a gig.
I didn't sign up for getting shot at.
I can ask the Marshals to
station a guy outside the door
if that will help.
Actually, I think we're okay.
We've got Pablo,
and we can lock the door.
But thank you.
All right.
Stay safe.
Judy and I have been
roommates for six years.
I knew she was upset, but I never
thought it would come to this.
Upset about what?
She was laid off from
her job three months ago.
She worked at the Department
of Education Office in Newark
her whole career.
Wait, so she's a federal employee?
Was.
BOGO closed down the whole office.
She lost her job, lost her pension.
Couldn't make her rent last month.
But I don't [INHALES SHARPLY]
She's not a violent person.
This doesn't make any sense.
Okay, well, she had
an accomplice with her,
a young African American male.
Do you have any idea who that is?
Saquon.
Who's that?
He works in her office too.
I think she said it was
his first job ever.
And Judy really liked him.
She was like a mother figure.
I'm not saying it's him, but I always
thought their relationship
was a little odd.
You know his last name?
No, but I'm sure Judy's supervisor does.
Judy's old-school.
She kept a Rolodex with all
her work contacts in it,
and the name and number
might be in there.
It's in the bedroom.
Back this way.
[TENSE MUSIC]
[KNOCK AT DOOR]

Saquon.
How you doing?
Fine.
What's going on?
This is my friend Judy.
Hello.
She's on her way to
Connecticut to see her dad,
and I bummed a ride.
I figured I'd stop by
and see my favorite auntie.
Huh.
Can we come in?
She just needs to use
the bathroom real quick.
Well, I'm waiting
for my program to start,
but yeah, come on in.
Thank you.
Down there, first door on the left.
Why aren't you at work?
I got laid off. Judy too.
They shut down our whole office, so
just trying to make the best
of our free time.
Sorry to hear that.
When a peaceful
protest turned violent.
A BOGO official was shot
while protesters
and police looked on.
The victim died
from her wounds an hour ago,
and authorities are
looking for two suspects,
54-year-old Judy King of Tenafly
and an unknown male accomplice
described as African American
in his late 20s.
Saquon, you lied.
You did shoot somebody.
- What is she talking about?
- And now they think I did it?
I'm calling the police.
- No, no.
- Saquon!
You're not calling anybody,
and you're not going anywhere either.
Boy, you done lost your mind.
Put that gun away.
- Move, move!
- Or what?
You gonna shoot me in my own house?
I'm not playing, Auntie!
Move!
[DRAMATIC MUSIC]

These people
that were targeted are
government employees who are
simply doing their job.
They deserve the full protection
of the law like every
other American citizen.
The Bureau
of Government Oversight
will not be intimidated,
and we will not be bullied.
Thank you very much.
Did the bureau authorize a reward?
I don't think so, no.
And wouldn't that be our call?
- [PHONE RINGING]
- Hey, Ray. What's up?
We got an ID on our accomplice.
His name is Saquon Ball.
He and Judy used to work at the
U.S. Department of Education
until they were both
laid off three months ago.
So what, they're mad
at the federal government,
and this is some kind of revenge attack?
Uh, possibly.
Judy's roommate said
she was pretty upset.
Maybe he wound her up.
You know, she crossed the line.
But I don't know.
She doesn't seem the type.
What do we know about the kid?
So he's 28 years old,
community college graduate
from East Orange.
He did six months for assault
back when he was 22.
Both parents are deceased.
His oldest brother
is in jail, but he does
have his Aunt Kay
listed on his DOE application
- as his emergency contact.
- Got it.
Kay Ball, 54, address
is 863 Wayside in Queens.
- You still in Tenafly?
- We're leaving Jersey now.
Barnes and I are closer. We'll take it.
[SUSPENSEFUL MUSIC]

it's my auntie's number.
I can't use my phone right now
because the cops are after me.

I did not know that
Saquon brought a gun,
and I'm so sorry that that
young woman was killed.
I truly, I truly am.
Does this woman look
like a terrorist to you?
I worked at the Department

I was proud of what I did there,
helping kids and helping teachers.
And then BOGO came, and they just
swept us out like we're dirt.
I found this in the trunk.
- You care to explain?
- Oh.
That's not mine.
I've never seen that.
Saquon must have put it in there.
He had access to your trunk?
Uh-huh.
We stopped at a restaurant by the bridge
so that he could use the restroom.
And then when he came out,
I popped the trunk so that he
could get the balloons out.
That's obviously when he
put that money in there.

a visit from BOGO?
No, never.

How'd they get in? Sal have access?
No, the only people with the
code are me and the landlord.
And who's that?
GSA, the General
