And then Jocko thinking that
someone named Gor Danter killed her.
JESSE: Yeah. I ran that name
through the usual North
American databases.
But there's no records, no aliases,
not even a sketchy username.
Yeah.
Well, I hate to say it,
but I'm not surprised.
JESSE: Also, I did some
digging into Jocko's health records.
A few years after you left the service,
Jocko underwent an
experimental treatment
for post-traumatic stress disorder
with a new drug trial that seemed
to make his symptoms worse.
That could explain the delusions.
MARK: Says here he was
betrayed by a trusted translator
who was feeding intel to insurgents,
hiding weapons in the mountains.
Yeah, and that betrayal led
to three of Jocko's men dying
in a cave ambush, traumatizing Jocko.
During the drug trials,
he came to believe
that the army was full of reptilians,
that were created from the
soldiers who were there before.
I guess that translator
was a literal shapeshifter.
Yeah. You're right, it's not the time.
DONOVAN: Okay. But
why would he kill Amber Long?
Okay, he's disturbed.
He's not a killer. Not in that way.
The man took a bullet
for me in Kandahar.
He is a protector.

making the weapon completely silent.
So whoever's behind this had
access to something specialized
and knew how to use it.
It might point to Jocko.
One of the other
attributes of the Mk 1 is that
there's absolutely no blowback.
Which means Rex wouldn't have
smelled powder burns on him
- even if he had been the shooter.

I know it's circumstantial
but I was watching episodes
of Amber's podcast online
and I read some of the comments.
Now, she has a lot of haters.
But I established that most of them
were out of the province
at the time of the murder,
except for one,
Amber's former co-host
Blossom Jade.
She runs an alternative medicine company
that markets to an upscale clientele.
- You said former co-host?
- JESSE: Yeah. They broke up.
And she's been posting
on Amber's channel
using fake handles, calling
her a shill, a sellout.
That makes her worth paying a visit.
[SUSPENSEFUL MUSIC]
BLOSSOM: I don't even know why
you're asking me questions, Detective.
I need to know if you had
anything to do with Amber's murder.
Why would I kill my friend?
I'm all about peace and love.
Why were you flooding
her latest podcasts
with hateful comments?
- [REX SNIFFING]

to get Amber to calm down and focus.

And she kept sending
me frantic messages about
every new hidden plan she'd uncovered.

I cut her off because I got tired of it.
But I didn't kill her.

Look, I was here all day
giving out herbal boosters
on the day she was killed.

who might have killed her
I'd look at Lance Katanga.

He believes that
abandoned buildings are portals
for beings from other worlds.
He seemed intense, but okay.
And then he started going off.

Why would Lance kill Amber?
I think even she turned

He could get mean if

Honestly, he wasn't the only one unkind.

when I try and give them the proof.

what Amber's latest obsession was about.

NEVILLE: Huh. I can't
even tell what I'm saying.
But I remember that day.
She was poking around
government structures.
Okay. Do you know what she
was looking for in there?
Oh, some wild story
about lizards or something.

And that wasn't the only time.
She ambushed me as
I was leaving the office

Now, you made a lot of claims
about what Amber was involved in.
The reptilians.

near the Southside Hills.
I got so close I could
see their green eyes shining.
[REX WHINES]

have you talked to someone
who can help you process
the things that happened in the field?

intel on Lance Katanga.
I checked the ticket logs from TruthCon
where Amber was supposed to speak.
Katanga never attended.
But get this, neither did Jocko.
And that's where Jocko told
you where he was, right?
His alibi doesn't hold up.
But you got a location for Lance?
Yeah, I traced his latest ping to here.
In the outskirts of an industrial park.
An abandoned city storage building.
Yeah, Neville said that
Lance was an urban explorer.
Makes sense. All right, Rex.

I think we just found Lance.

SARAH: So, we initially
thought Lance had drowned.
But I found this bullet
entry wound in his lower back.
Internal bleeding killed him.
Different bullet than
the one that killed Amber.
And even more interestingly,
the primer residue
tested positive for barium.
Don't modern primers use lead?
Yeah. Exactly.
See the marks,
on the bullet from the barrel?
- Yeah.
- Shallow grooves.
Slower twist rate than modern weapons.
Don't tell me, another
Cold War era weapon.
An M16, to be exact.
These Cold War era military guns,
they do raise a few
questions about Jocko.
I did some more digging
into the PTSD experiment he was part of.
Records show that
a few of the patients
in those experiments
committed acts of violence,
- even homicides.

Sure, his behaviour is erratic
but Jocko had no reason
to kill that young woman.
I know, but he may
not have needed motive.
He could have just snapped.

DONOVAN: Jocko would have had training
with the weapons that were used
to kill both Amber and Lance.
And Neville just told
me that he saw Jocko
hanging around the
city facility with a rifle.

If Jocko is a bomb waiting to go off,

him outside of his house

show her proof of aliens.
Texting this video to Blossom,
Amber said that Lance had
shown her in the hills
green lights that don't make any sense.
Strange, pulsing, unexplainable,
just like the government wants it.
Hold, let's just stick to
the facts, please, Jesse.
I'm just trying to
look at the facts, Joe!
I'm sorry.
Say Amber
tells Jocko. He spirals,
hearing about the lights,
because he believes
that the lizard people are
starting their invasion.
SARAH: He also says
that Frank's a government agent
who infiltrated the Truthseekers
to control them, basically.
[REX GRUNTS]
- What? Amber blew his cover?
- DONOVAN: So then Frank kills Amber?
It's a web of crazy!
What if Jocko's not wrong?
Frank started TruthCon ten years ago.
Then he moved it to
Ottawa five years ago.
Now, the funds, they come from an
untraceable account based there.
And payments are made after
each of his conspiracy cons.
- You're thinking CSIS?
- JESSE: Yeah.
So, Frank actually is
working for the government?
- Spy work.
- JESSE: Well, I mean,
good luck getting them to open up.
They're a brick wall.
Maybe not.
I'm going to fly to Ontario.
I know a guy high up at CSIS.
I'd better go in person.

[REX BARKS]
DONOVAN: Mark, it's Joe.
Yeah, I called in a big favour
with one of my contacts at CSIS.
He hemmed and he hawed
but eventually he got me
the intel on Frank Sharma.
MARK: And what did you get?
Jocko was right.
Frank doesn't just run the convention.
He's working for the feds.
FRANK: For the government?
- You think I'm spying for them?
- That's right.
[FRANK SCOFFS] Seriously,
you actually believe that?
We have confirmation from within CSIS.
You've been a confidential
informant for the past five years.
They caught me with
classified documents.
They forced me to work for them.
But I just need to flag
people who might be extremists.
So, Amber was one of these extremists?
Or did she find out who
you were reporting to?
You can't think I killed her.
I was just trying to find out
what she was investigating.
But she wanted to save
it for the convention.
Where were you between 3:00
