didn't mention any of that?
We were told
she had bitten the minister.
But when we got there, we realized
there was something else going on.
[PAUL] What would cause
a 17-year-old girl
to bite a grown man?
It was tetanus.
- [ABIGAIL GROANING]
- Lockjaw. A bacterial
infection usually caused by
some kind of puncture wound.
How did Abigail get such a wound?
The room she was staying in.
There was an old, metal bed frame.

[PAUL] What was the likely outcome
if her tetanus had remained untreated?
Trouble breathing, pneumonia,
broken bones from the spasms
and possibly death.
