at the hands of the Mayfairs.

the things
that would be really surprising is
if it happens very early
in the episode.

HUSTON: For an audience,
you have to understand
that nobody's safe,
and therefore there are no rules.
And that makes for
such an exciting season.
Lasher gives Rowan the power to heal.
So we use that
and he has this second life in
the second part of the episode.
No. And that was really,
really fun because
then you get this moment where,
"Well, now is he gonna die or not?
Or will she just save him again?"
[GASPS]
We got to play with
Lasher's obliteration twice
and twist it around a little bit.

There's no other way to get
the Dutch into your system
to the point where
it feels authentic and natural.

In that particular scene
when he rescues Rowan
out of the dungeon,
it does bring about a sense
of healing.

And it's a good sign that there's more
to follow after this.
And then, you know,
they'll cross that bridge
about their personal relationship.
But right now there is the mission

To save Lasher, to save the children.

SPALDING: Shooting something
like the battle sequence
is a lot
like fighting a battle, right?
You plan and plan and plan,
and you get the best possible soldiers
that you can and generals,
you know, and so on.
And then at the end of the day,
it's unpredictable.

And you look at the storyboards
and it is overwhelming
the amount of shots

you need to put together
to make this puzzle.

the other guys do it
and you realize
why they're the professionals.
DIRECTOR: Okay, here we go.
And action.
WILLIAMS: I think when you first
see the wolf puppet get carried
across the battlefield,
there was a bit
of a collective chuckle.
Yesterday, the day that the wolf
appears on camera,
we got this wolf.
But the secret thing
I had in my pocket
is that the stunt coordinator
here, he owns a black wolf dog.
His name is Dracul.
And Dracul nailed it every time.
It's heaven-sent.
Best reference you can get
is an actual live being
doing the action
that the CGI wolf will later do.

Aah! Ah!
DYLAN: At the end here,
when Lasher gets hit by the ax,
we're going to do a classic trick
that they do in the old cowboy movies,
which is called a whip pan,
which is we see the person throw.
We whip the camera this way,
and then we whip
the camera again to the person
receiving the ax,
but the ax is already in the chest.
3, 2, 1, ax!
It tricks the audience
feeling like the ax
is flying through the air
and gets them in their chest.
[SCREAMING]
Attagirl.
DADDARIO: I didn't
get to work with Jack Huston
as much this season, and I
really enjoy my scenes with him,
not just because I love him
as an actor and a person,
but because I think
that the dynamic between the two
characters is so interesting.
ROWAN: Oh, please.
Williams: That's the culmination of,
honestly, a 2-year journey here.
You can tell there's something
real and emotional there
in having to say goodbye.
It does feel like something special.
HUSTON: I always knew
that this was gonna be
my ending in season two
from the beginning.
You know, who knows.
Who knows what's gonna happen.
He can die.
I mean, he's been dead before.
CHIRISA: These are things
that come with the job.
Getting into these type
of situations is nothing unusual
because he's trained for it.
At the end of the day,
it's just another job
that needs to be fulfilled.

SPALDING: I really feel that
when she takes the sip of blood,
she is only doing that
because she thinks
it will bring Lasher back.
But she then feels
the flush of what that power is
and the choices she makes
on the other side of that,
to not have Lark around,
who has really acted
as a kind of conscience to her,
are taking her to another place
that's going to be really,
really exciting to explore.
DADDARIO: She's lost a lot,
but she has the power
that she always wanted.
She says she's gonna use it for good,
but I think we've seen
that that's
not particularly entirely true.
