excited about.

the country has been

a chicken coop right now?

You can't really capture it

It's sour-ish.
I've heard bits and pieces
of what happened.
But you wanna tell me
exactly how it started?
The girls were having
a slumber party
with friends in here.
And my youngest daughter
just kept bugging me,
"Mom, I smell something,
I smell something."
And not to be gross,
And not to be gross,
but it smelled like
fish and bleach,
and it was changing in smells.
I remember Kasey
coming and grabbing me.
She was like,
"Do you smell that smell?"
And I said, "Yeah."
And then all of a sudden,
we both looked up
and we saw smoke
coming out of one light.
She was like, "Fire, fire!"
And so she got everybody out,
I immediately
turned off the light,
and that's when
I saw the flames
and I knew the entire roof
was burning.
A lot was happening.
It felt like slow motion,
but I know we were all moving
as fast as we possibly could.
We thought it was
originally a porch fire.
Because out here on the porch
we had a fire burning.
we had a fire burning.
But then later we
learned that it was that.
I'm shocked it didn't
come down here more.
Like, how fast were they here
putting this out,
the firefighters?
Oh, it was quick.
Probably seven minutes.
- Oh, wow.
- [Kasey] Yeah.
We also learned that
the basement was flooding,
it flooded when we were trying
to cut the power off.
We have geothermal
and that's honestly
what the fire chief said
is kinda what kept it
from just going up in flames.

That's why the smoke
smell is so bad

are like, "Oh, it looks fine."

Modern, classic,
rustic, eclectic.
[JT laughing]
That's the eclectic part!
That's like asking me what
kinda genres of music I like.
I think we like what we like.
So, let me explain.
We have some pieces
that we wanna incorporate
back in the house.
Okay, which are
JT's dad and mom
opened the first multi-track
recording studio
in Fort Worth, Texas,
back in the '80s.
That's very cool.
We have a lot of fun
memorabilia from that.
- That's amazing.
- Um
- American bison-themed.
- Love it.
[Kasey] We have
a huge buffalo head.
[Kasey] We have
a huge buffalo head.
- And
- [JT] His name is Chuck.
- Yeah.
- And he is
a necessity.
[Kasey] We also have
this really cool wooden sign
that hung outside
of his dad's studio
that we'd like to incorporate
in some kinda table
- Nice, love it.
- in the house.
- Perfect.
- And then everything else
I mean, I'm open.
- Okay, so, options.
- I'm not stuck on anything.
What colors are you guys

- Black.
- Yeah.
Blacks
- Dark blues, browns.
- Dark greens.
Little, like, modern,
historic, vintage.
- Yes.
- Like, music vibes.
- Yeah.
- But, yeah, okay.
Happy wife, happy life.
It's gonna be worth it.
I hate when people say that.
Drives me nuts.
[laughing]
This isn't, you know,
a total tear-down,
but there's elements of it
that are gonna have
to completely
start from scratch.
So, what you're saying is,
"The pressure
is on, Christina."?
Yeah
I mean, I don't want it
to feel like a challenge,
but maybe working with J
- might be that way, so
- [laughing]
Okay, so
I know that there's
a lot of unknowns here
as far as
I'm not sure exactly
how much it's gonna cost
to extend everything
into the covered patio,
to extend everything
into the covered patio,
different doors, windows,
et cetera
This is not a normal project.
This is a remodel
and a restoration
due to fire damage.
JT and Kasey
don't know how much
they're gonna have
to spend here.
And once we are able
to walk it with a contractor
and get a formal bid,
we'll have a much better idea
what this project
really entails.
I know you guys know
the contractor
who I've worked with
out here, JB.
- JB!
- Yes, yes. Of course.
Natural fit? Good friends.
- Yep.
- Very good.
Okay, perfect.
That's what I heard.
All right, I can't wait
to get started, super excited.
All right, I can't wait
to get started, super excited.
[grunting]
Down.
My contractor, JB,
and his team
have already started demo.
But with this being
such a huge project,
we all need to meet to talk
about the layout and cost.
- Hi, guys.
- Hi!
- Welcome home.
- [Kasey] We're here!
- How's it going?
- Yay!
You're both in the same room!
- Good to see ya.
- Good to see you.
All right, you guys excited?
- Yes! Let's
- [JT] A little nervous.
- Yes! Let's
- [JT] A little nervous.
Okay, so, last time
we were here
we talked about
extending the house
into the covered porch area.
- Mmm-hmm.
- Yeah.
So, what I would love to do
is extend the ceilings
that basically carry
the A-frame all the way over,
knocking these walls out,
knocking this side out,
extending the house
this way as well.
And tearing the kitchen
all the way from
the back side of the house
and wrapping it around
over here.
- We can do a massive island.
- [Kasey] Yay.
A kitchen.
Christina recognizes that the
heart of the home is the kitchen.
I am so excited to have
a bigger kitchen.
I am so excited to have
a bigger kitchen.
Although I will be
losing my porch,
I'm okay with it.
I would love to extend
this way as well
into the front porch.
And maybe do, like,
a couple double doors,
or a nice, big window
[Kasey] Love that.
[Christina] We would
basically take this fireplace
and shift it all the way
to the back wall,
so your fireplace would now be
where the covered porch is.
[JB] Very cool.
I know that before
you had the big buffalo head.
Where do you want that?
I want it over the bar.
- There you go.
- Where's the bar?
- We could do a bar
- [laughing]
- We could do a bar
- [laughing]
We could do a bar over here.
Take out these built-ins.
And we can have
your bison up there.
And then we can do
a nice bar area as well
facing this way.
Oh, I love it.
Chuck, you'll have
a home, buddy.
[laughing]
- So, I get my kitchen.
- [Christina] Yeah.
- He gets his bar.
- Exactly.
We are gonna have to do
a new foundation out there.
We are gonna have to do
a new foundation out there
because that used to be
a car port,
and the concrete's only
three inches thick.
What?
- [groans]
- [Christina] Yeah.
It's a pretty big hit,
too, unfortunately.
We are removing
all the plumbing,
We are removing
all the plumbing,
all the HVAC,
all the electrical.
We had a fire, yeah.
It's not like we're coming in
and just
re-wallpapering the bathroom.
Like, we've got
structural issues.
We need to make sure
it's safe, you know.
We're not remodeling,
we're almost, like, doing
a renovation in a sense.
This is probably gonna be
close to 400,000 dollars.
Wow.
Okay.
Um
Uh, I mean
JT's JT, this is where
he's really acting
like the money
doesn't affect him.
But in reality, it's
I wish you could get that.
Again, I think,
yes, there's a time
to splurge, sure.
But I also feel like
there are phases.
It's like, "Hey,
let's get this done,
and then in a year's time
we can do this if we want."
- Mmm-mmh.
- Continue to
No.
There's not gonna be
another phase
- post-fire.
- Sure!
I guess we do spend
90 percent of our time here.
I guess we do spend
90 percent of our time here.
I need Christina's help
convincing him
that we can afford
this project.
That the budget is
gonna be what the budget is,
and we're not looking back.
How much would it cost
just to not extend
and fix the interior?
[JB] It would probably knock
close to 100,000 dollars off.
[Christina] So, hearing
those two numbers,
I mean, for only
Not only, but
for 100,000 dollars
to have the home
of your dreams
I think you should do it.
We're not gonna do this again.
We're not gonna do this again.
- Wow
- I mean
- I hope.
- You're very good, Christina.
You're very, very good.
We're out of
our house anyway.
- Let's do it.
- Let's do it.
Can we get the bar up first?
'Cause I'm gonna need that.
- [all laughing] - I'm
gonna need a lot of drinks.
[Christina] The bar
is over there.
So, I know you guys
have worked together before.
What projects were you
doing last time?
It all started with
- A chicken coop.
- A chicken coop?
[Kasey laughing]
Where?
[JB] You can see it
back there.
- Oh, I need to go look.
- [JT] Go check it out.
[Christina] Because
guys, you know what?
I need a chicken coop.
[Kasey] It's a very nice
chicken coop.
Oh, my gosh, when my kids
come, can they come over, too?
Oh, my gosh, when my kids
come, can they come over, too?
[Kasey] Of course, yes!
That's the best part.
Kids and chickens.
Oh, my gosh.
Josh and I tried
to have chickens once
and unfortunately,
they all hopped the fence
and tried to fly away.
This is not okay.
Can you please go back home?
[Josh] Chickens, go back in.
[clucking]
So I know the importance
of having a good coop.
We need that.
- That's like a coop mansion.
- [Kasey] Yeah.
Okay, next time we see
you guys back here,
there will be no roof, right?
Bare bones.
[Christina] Ready or not.
Here we go.
- All right.
- All right, guys. Bring it in.

it's full steam ahead
to get this project underway.
Ever since we bought
this house in Tennessee,
there's one thing
the kids have always wanted,
there's one thing
the kids have always wanted,
and that's chickens.
So, I'm bringing them by
Kasey and JT's house
so they can check out
the chickens and the coop.
I've been telling Taylor
all about you girls
and the fluffy chickens,
of course.
- What?
- Chicken!
- Look at that chicken!
- [Taylor] What?
- [Christina] I know.
- [Taylor] Looks like a fluffy emu.
[JT] Here, sit down,
sit down, you can hold it.
Hey, what's that one's

- Boot.
- Boot?
He's the sweetest
of all the chickens.
[exclaiming excitedly]
[JT] Hold the wings,
'cause they'll slap if you
Did you hear?
He went [imitates clucking].
Do you want one of these
at our house here?
- Yeah!
- Taylor!
[Christina] Keep your fingers
out of his face.
- Oh, yeah.
- Can you get that?
You wanna see the eggs?
- Yeah.
- Yeah, let's go see the eggs.
We need a mom chicken
to sit on them
for them to hatch.
Will you sit on them
if there's no chicken?
[laughing]
[Christina] You can sit
on them today.
Do you wanna come to
this watering hole we have
that's right down the road?
And then you get
to swing in there.
- Wait, actually?
- Yeah.
Yeah, of course!
Can we go?
Yeah.
- Okay.
- What's a watering hole?
So it's basically where you,
like, there's this rope swing,
and then you swing on it.
and then you swing on it.
And then you drop in the water
and it's really fun.
That sounds amazing.
That sounds so fun.
I've never been
to a watering hole.
Wait, where's Boot?
[chortling]
I mean, Boots is just
involved in everything now.
Well, he might just mysteriously
show up at the property one day.
- Overnight.
- [Josh] Yeah.
[Christina] Okay, let's help
get them back in the coop.
Go wrangle the chickens up!
If you gonna play with them,
you gotta wrangle them in.
Here, chick, chick, chick.
Leave no chicken behind!
[Josh] Let's go, chickens!
[Christina] No! Oh, no!
[JT] Chick, chick, chick
[Josh] You, chickens.
[JT] This is actually one of
the hardest wrangles ever.
[JT] This is actually one of
the hardest wrangles ever.
[Christina] Oh, no, no.
Yep, there you go.
- [JT] Come on, chick, chick, chick, chick
- [Christina] There you go.
- Good job.
- [Kasey] All right, got a couple more here!
- Couple more.
- Oh, no. He got lost.
- There you go.
- Got all of them?
- I think!
- Hey Brayden! Good work.
Good job, Brayden, high five.
Nice.
After seeing them
like this here,
it's confirmed.
we need a chicken coop.
Tennessee life.
I say country life.
[Christina] We're making
some great progress
at Kasey and JT's house.
at Kasey and JT's house.
And I'm on my way to show them
some material options
for their kitchen.
This is my first time doing
a design pitch outdoors.
And in the heat.
I'm like, molting,
just like Bagel over there.
[Kasey laughing]
[Christina] We're both
shedding our hair.
Poor Bagel.
You want me to make you
a mud bath?
[laughing] I do.
I would appreciate that.
So, today's a fun day.
Let's design the house.
I'm loving it!
So far so good!
[Christina] All right, so
Where do you guys
wanna start?
[Kasey] I'm gravitating more
towards this for the backsplash.
[Kasey] I'm gravitating more
towards this for the backsplash.
[Christina] I agree.
And what are you thinking
countertops? This or this?
I think I might like that.
I think if we go too
down the dark pole,
it could start feeling cavey.
I agree, I definitely feel
like this might be too dark.
But I think that
would look beautiful.
[Kasey] Yes, I agree.
[Christina] Which flooring
are you guys thinking?
Does the red oak pull pink
or pull red?
I mean, it's red, right? So
There is a potential
There is a potential
that it could pull
a different color.
But here, it doesn't look
like it would pull anything.
- Right.
- But if we put it in the sun,
which I don't really
wanna go out there,
- 'cause I'm sweating
- [all laughing]
it could
Yes, it gets redder,
for sure.
So, what are you thinking?
Just, like, a clear stain?
Yeah, so, if we do
something like this,
I would say a very
minimal stain,
'cause I think it's beautiful
but, you know, you do want
some type of stain
so you don't have this
really rough finish.
It's so pretty.
Now, is this expensive?
Now, is this expensive?
So, here's the thing
with the floors.
This one, the red oak,
is in budget.
This one that you like,
the white oak,
is about a 5,000 dollar
upcharge.
And then there's
a third option.
And that is, you guys
currently have
solid oak floors in the house.
They weren't
technically damaged
'cause the fire
was in the attic.
So they're salvageable.
So, we could sand them down,
and stain them
like this color.
and stain them
like this color.
There was not a lot
to salvage,
so maybe that could also
be kind of
- Cool?
- sentimental.
- Nostalgic?
- Yeah.
Just to keep one thing,
keep the floors.
- So
- Yep.
Um, so, yeah, I guess
we'll go with option C?
- Perfect.
- Okay.
I think that's a great option.
I think it's gonna
look beautiful.
It's gonna look
very similar to this.
And then I like the fact
that you are saving something
that was there before.
- Yeah.
- [JT] Yeah!
[Christina] Okay, so
How do you guys feel
about the paint color?
I really like
this paint color.
This feels very safe
and comfortable.
This feels very safe
and comfortable.
Okay.
So, are you thinking
black cabinets throughout,
including the island?
If we're gonna do it,
let's do it big. So
I think it adds, like,
a really cool, like
almost like a slight, like
glam element, too.
What are you thinking
for pull handles?
I like the combination
of brushed brass and black.
- [JT] I like it.
- Me, too.
- I think some kind of combination of this.
- Yeah.
[Kasey] I don't know
that this is it quite yet,
but you nailed
the combination.
No?
Really? That's where
we're gonna
Really? That's where
we're gonna
If I wouldn't have
noticed your face,
I wouldn't have
known anything.
[Kasey] I was gonna say.
that's gonna be
what we get hung up on?
So, JT, what are you thinking?
- You like this?
- I like it like that.
What's wrong with that?
You talking about
making this like that
and then this be black?
- Whatever you wanna do, babe.
- [Kasey sighing]
But I'll tell you this.
Come bar time, it's my time.
Oh, my God
[JT] I'm making the decisions.
What are you thinking
for this bar? So I'm aware.
Three or four kegs.
Uh
I'm kidding, you gotta
bring me some options
and I'll tell you what
I like and don't like.
and I'll tell you what
I like and don't like.
- Oh, okay.
- Yeah, bring him some options.
- Okay.
- [all laughing]
[Kasey] Um, real quick.
This is what we're putting
around the fireplace?
- Yes. You guys like that?
- [Kasey] Yeah.
I like this for the fireplace.
Okay, so, we have
the flooring color,
we have the beautiful
black cabinets
with the pull handles,
we have the backsplash
and the trim,
we have the counters,
the fireplace and the paint.
Yay!
You killed it,
that's perfect.
- That's it.
- Christina, you rock.
- Okay, well
- [Kasey] Good to go.
We'll get this ordered
and then next time we meet,
we'll do the bar.
[chuckling]
I'm absolutely obsessed
with JT and Kasey's
chicken coop.
I'm hoping, with JB's help,
that we can legit build
a chicken mansion
masterpiece.
Hi.
How's it going?
What's going on?
I mean, my chickens
are gonna live large.
Would you expect
anything less?
Hi, JB.
I'm sorry, but I'm really
here for Bacon.
Bagel! Bagel!
Bagel! Bagel!
- [laughing]
- Oops, Bacon.
Awkward.
If you're here for bacon, you're
eating the pig, not feeing her.
[Christina] Bagel,
I'm so sorry!
I brought you a treat!
In all fairness,
the chicken coop we have,
I did not build.
I said I would build
a new chicken coop,
and then she told me
about this,
and, uh, I don't think
I can build one that well.
[JB laughing]
I want it to look
like our house,
which is, like,
a modern farmhouse.
- Okay.
- Are you designing a chicken coop right now?
Yes!
So, you told me you have
an awesome chicken coop.
So, show Josh
where to go.
What do you got
compared to this?
Well, my wife wanted
a luxury chicken coop.
Well, my wife wanted
a luxury chicken coop.
It had a chandelier
and pictures and
So, we did some little ha-has.
So it does have
a chandelier.
Oh, my gosh, a chicken
coop with a chandelier?
Where's the chicken coop?
This looks like your house.
- [laughs]
- Yeah.
- [Josh] Oh, wait, oh, I get it.
- [Christina] So
This is the house.
That's the chicken coop?
[JB and Christina]
No! [both laughing]
- [Christina] This is it.
- Oh, my gosh, I would sleep in that.
[Christina] So, they have some
designer chickens in here, too.
- Oh, do they?
- Kasey's got, like,
the most rad chickens
I've ever seen.
the most rad chickens
I've ever seen.
She has, like, fluffy ones.
She has chickens
that lay colorful eggs.
- This one, I think, is about to lay an egg.
- [chuckles]
That would be pretty cool.
Now, let's talk about
the most important part,
and that's aesthetic,
like the design of it.
-So, see how this one matches
their, you know, -Of course.
barn slash garage
and how cute it looks?
Well, ours kind of needs to
match the vibe of our house,
so, like, pitched roofs,
white and black.
- Maybe, like, a cute door.
- You want it to look like our house?
This is, like, oh, my gosh,
- look how cute this building is.
- [Josh] Well, yeah,
- I think it's so cute.
- [Christina] Yeah,
- I think it's so cute.
- [Christina] Yeah,
so they look similar, right?
Well, yeah, then ours should
look similar to our home.
I'll try my best, but I'm sure JB's
gonna make it looks real good
- Yeah.
- and I'm gonna take all the credit.
- Oh, okay, there you go.
- [JB chuckles]
- It's a collaboration.
- It is, yeah.
Josh and Josh. Josh squared.
- Josh squared can handle anything.
- All right.
-Well, I'm hot,
-Country style.
- let's go jump in the pool.
- All right.
[Christina] This project
is a big undertaking
and it's gonna take a lot
longer than most projects,
but I think in the end JT and
Kasey will both be really happy.
but I think in the end JT and
Kasey will both be really happy.
What the heck?
- Hey.
- [JB] Hey there.
- Oh, my gosh.
- Kinda crazy, huh?
- Very crazy.
- [chuckles]
- It's quite the project.
- Yeah. We're cruising along.
It's gonna be a pretty
phenomenal before and after.
I saw it coming down the road
- and I was like, "Got to be kidding me."
- [laughs]
- [laughs]
- Oh, my gosh. Wow.
Why didn't we just
take the whole house down?
To save some of the bones,
we were able to do that,
and also, we're gonna keep
the areas that have been bricked,
and also, we're gonna keep
the areas that have been bricked,
- Yep.
- and right there that's a big house saving.
Like, how much?
I would say close to 50 grand.
Well, $50,000 is a big saving
so that definitely makes sense.
So, now that everything's opened
up and we can really get an idea,
basically the kitchen island's
going about in this vicinity?
- [JB] That's right.
- Okay.
-[JB] Then we got a
pantry over here, -Nice.
- and seating area, little nook.
- Yep, perfect.
[Christina] And then we're
extending all the way to the kitchen,
- all the way up to there, right?
- [JB] That's right.
[Christina] This is gonna be
a massive improvement.
It's gonna be awesome
for their family.
It's gonna be awesome
for their family.
- Great.
- Should I use the front door?
- Come on.
- Okay, I would give you a hug but it's very sweaty here.
- Yes, it's very hot.
- Yeah, sticky.
Let's go.
[sighs wearily]
- It's not that bad.
- Not bad.
We gonna
slide it over a little?
-Catch those grooves?
[grunts] -Yeah.
Pop a nail in right here.
There you go.
That looks good. It's huge.
That looks good. It's huge.
- Can you believe we built this?
- It's pretty impressive.
Well, when I say "we", 90
percent JB, 10 percent me,
but, hey, I helped.
Can you believe
this is gonna be
- a chicken coop?
- Oh, thank you.
Do you know how many eggs
we're gonna have?
I don't quite do
the whole sweet tea thing yet,
- but it has some peach juice.
- What is this?
- [chuckles]
- What is it? What's in it?
- Peach juice.
- [Josh] Peach juice? Is there any whisky in it?
No, sorry, it's just juice.
- Cheers. That's pretty tasty.
- Cheers, buddy.
So, you want
to take a look around?
- Oh, yeah, a tour?
- Come on in.
- This would have been the door here.
- Okay.
-So, this is the big
coop area -Okay.
-So, this is the big
coop area -Okay.
- where they'll all nest.
- Oh, nice.
It's not bad, huh?
This will all be chicken wire
- so this will be their area to play and hang.
- In that area.
- Yep.
- Okay.
And then your over-design
of a place
that's a mini mansion for
chickens will be right here.
Oh, my gosh,
the kids are gonna love this.
How many chickens do you
think we can squeeze in here?
- I'm thinking we could fit 50.
- [chuckling] That's a lot.
- That's a lot of chickens.
- That's a lot of eggs.
- We could fit 25.
- I like eggs.
20 chickens.
That's a good number.
-And if you have one rooster
-Don't forget your rooster.
-And if you have one rooster
-Don't forget your rooster.
you'll have a lot more soon.
- Oh, we're having a rooster.
- Oh, yeah, we're getting a rooster.
- Heck yeah, we're getting a rooster.
- We're having a rooster.
I love those roosters, the way
they walk around all confident.
So, how long until
this is done?
I need to start, you know,
planning my chicken ordering.
Well, the two of us are working as
hard as we can, just the two of us,
but if we maybe have a third set
of hands we could get it done faster.
I'm not wearing
the right shoes.
[Josh] Come on,
go change your shoes then.
- Nope, so like
- Come on.
- You've got other shoes.
- So, like, two weeks?
- Two weeks?
- [JB chuckling]
- We'll have this done by the weekend.
- Oh, even better.
- We'll have this done by the weekend.
- Oh, even better.
- Just keep bringing us this juice.
- Okay.
It's been eight weeks
since I've been
to JT and Kasey's house.
They finally have a roof
so I'm headed over today,
and it's an exciting day because I'll be
showing JT some materials for his bar.
- Yo.
- [Christina] Hi.
- [Kasey] You're back.
- Wow.
You don't remember this,
do you?
- You have a roof.
- I know, right? A new roof.
- You have a roof.
- I know, right? A new roof.
- And look at this porch.
- [Kasey] It's amazing, right?
It doesn't even look like
the same house.
I can't wait
to see the inside.
- Yay, let's go inside.
- All right, let's go.
[Christina] Wow, oh, my gosh,
look at your kitchen.
- I know, right?
- I mean, what will be your kitchen.
Big, big kitchen.
- I just can't get over how high these ceilings are.
- Right?
The perfect hosting space,
right?
- Oh, totally.
- Yeah.
Okay, I'm super excited.
- I brought some bar materials.
- [JT] Okay.
-So, I know you're excited,
-It's my time.
- it's your time.
- It's my time to shine.
- Yep. Oh, Lord, help us all.
- No, no, my time.
- Yep. Oh, Lord, help us all.
- No, no, my time.
[Christina and Kasey
chuckling]
All right,
welcome to your bar.
I fancy an old fashioned.
How about you, honey?
Oh, I'll have a glass of wine.
- [chuckles]
- All right, we can do it all.
Okay, so,
I know this is your zone.
- This is my dojo.
- And 100 percent,
we're gonna have that
big old bison buffalo head.
- His name is Chuck.
- Chuck.
-So, we're thinking of a
more masculine, -Chuck's pub.
dark, moody vibes.
- Appreciate that.
- Okay.
- [chuckling]
- So, thinking
- [chuckling]
- So, thinking
butcher block counters
on this side.
[JT] For the bar top?
- Yep.
- [JT] Got it.
And we can do
the entire face in these.
-I think, like, this is a really cool
effect -Oh, like, all the way down?
- when you first walk in, to see that.
- Mmm-hmm.
And then it kind of
plays off the kitchen, too,
the backsplash
we're doing there.
This just has a little more
of a rustic feel,
if you want
to take a look at that.
- [Kasey] Love, love, love.
- [Christina] See that, how it shimmers a little bit,
- but still has, like, the rustic?
- [Kasey] Yeah.
[JT] Perfect.
[JT] Perfect.
And then back here
we can do maybe
a black countertop?
- Uhh
- Little boring?
A little boring to me.
Would you agree?
- This is not my show.
- I don't even know why I asked you.
- Not my monkey, not my circus. Go for it.
- I did, okay, look,
I did see
this really cool countertop
but they didn't have
a sample piece.
I took a picture.
I mean, it kind of looks like
there's, like, tiger stripes
- going on there.
- Yes, yes.
You like that?
- I love that.
- Yep.
It's pretty.
- Can I have that? [laughs]
- That's the one.
- You love it, love it?
- I want that.
- You love it, love it?
- I want that.
- You want that in your kitchen?
- Yes, I love that.
No, no, no. No, no, no.
This is my dojo,
this is my bar.
I like it for my countertop.
We can talk about that offline.
This is my dojo,
this is my bar.
I like it for my countertop.
We can talk about that offline.
[chuckles] Why did he get that
one? Why did he get [laughs]
- All right.
- This is gonna be where people hang.
- Currently, we have the white island.
- Mmm-hmm.
I think the white island's gonna clash
with the dark, with the gold veining,
- Mmm.
- so if we're gonna do that
then I would suggest doing
all dark cabinets in the kitchen,
not two tone.
- Okay.
- Because that counter really is gonna be, like,
-the star of the show,
-Yep.
- and I think the white will look a little weird.
- Yep, got it.
- and I think the white will look a little weird.
- Yep, got it.
I think I 100 percent agree.
Paper, rock, scissors.
- Oh, okay.
- [Christina giggles]
Rock, paper scissors, shoot.
Rock, paper scissors, shoot.
- Won.
- I won.
All right, we're doing both.
- Okay.
- Great choice, love it.
- It's gonna be great. It's gonna be great.
- It's gonna be awesome.
- It's still gonna be different.
- It's still your house!
- Yeah.
- Is it?
Okay, so, quick recap.
Regarding the kitchen, we're
gonna do all dark cabinets,
we're gonna do the beautiful
dark counters with the veining.
And then the bar,
And then the bar,
we are gonna do
this beautiful dark tile
- all along the face.
- [JT] Yep.
[Christina] We have the
butcher block counters right here.
Back here we're gonna have the
dark cabinets with the brass pulls,
same countertops.
I'd love to do, like, a
really big mirror right here,
- [JT] Yes.
- but one of those
- that has, kind of, more that vintage feel.
- [JT] Mmm-hmm.
[Christina] And then we'll do
this really cook rack floating
- where it's gonna have, like, beverages on display.
- [JT] Very cool.
[Christina] And last but not
least, we will have Chuck.
Okay.
- Team.
- Are you excited?
- Team.
- Are you excited?
- Team.
- Yay, oh, we're back to being a team now?
- Yes, bring it in.
- Okay, perfect.
- [all] Team.

Yeah, so these are
the Seramas.

All right, so, I think we're

- This one.
- Think that could fit?
- I think so.
- Let's see. I think we can fit 'em all.
- All right.
- Oh, it's like the bracelet.
- Hey, all right, hey, I don't mind.
So, all these ones
are coming home with me

- Let's load 'em up. Perfect.

- This thing's full grown.
- Aww.

[Josh] Hey, Brayden,
eggs are cool and all,
but have you seen
a mini rooster before?

- Oh, he's so cute. What's his name?
- You can name him.
- Oh, oh, I want to name him.
- We're going to agree because you might name it
- Chicken!

- [Carolee] That's a good name.
- Onyx.
- Do you guys love having chickens?
- [both] Yes.
- What's your favorite part?

- Get him the big rooster.

All right, what kind of eggs
do you want?
- Scrambled.
- Sunny side.
- I think I heard scrambled and sunny side.
- All right.
- All right.
- Can I have two?
- [Josh] Sure.
- Sure, baby, you can have two.
Let's go. We'll take these.

- They really do.
[Kasey] Love this tile.
- Oh, my gosh, the tile work looks awesome.
- The tile's great.
The best part, by extending
into the outdoor porch area
we were able to create
this massive kitchen.
- [JT] Countertops right there.
- [Kasey] Oh, my gosh, the mood, the vibe.
- JT, Kasey stole your style from the bar.
- The countertops.
- What do you think?
- She did steal my style.
[Kasey]
There's this edge that we have
- in our space.
- Well, the entertainment business,
- Yeah.
- you know, and we wanted something unique.
[Kasey] I feel like we're kind of
walking into this rock and roll kitchen
[Kasey] I feel like we're kind of
walking into this rock and roll kitchen
- that, like, is unique and you don't see every day.
- [whispering] Yeah.
[Christina] This was bold,
and it was a big decision,
and a big choice.
- It was a good choice. It was a good choice.
- [JT] Oh, yeah.
- It was a good choice.
- [Kasey] Yes.
I love these cabinets.
- I love the pull handles.
- Oh, my gosh.
I think this also adds
that tiny bit of, like,
a little bit of the feminine,
a little bit of glam,
- a little bit of the lights that I think it really needed.
- Yes.
Otherwise, it could have felt a little
too rugged, a little too masculine,
so I think
those subtle touches
- just really make it blend nicely.
- [Kasey] Yeah.
- just really make it blend nicely.
- [Kasey] Yeah.
I feel like we should have taken
our shoes off before we came in.
[Christina chuckles] Too late.
[JT] I feel like
it's not even my house.
I got to get used
to staying it.
- Yeah.
- It's completely different but I'm so just grateful.
So, I know you guys lost
some personal items in the fire,
but I love the fact
that we're able to incorporate
a lot of items
that mean a lot to you guys,
- such as this dining table.
- [JT] Wow.
I'm getting a little
[chuckles]
So, this is
my dad's studio sign.
Being able to make this
a table is pretty awesome.
I can't wait
for him to see it.
[Kasey] This is the
custom touch that I love.
- [Christina] Yep.
- You know, you could go anywhere
and buy a dining table,
but this has a story to it.
[Christina] I love all the personal
touches you guys have here,
and that's what really
makes it feel like home.
- [Kasey] Yeah.
- [JT] Agreed.
And then, of course, we can't
ignore the bison in the room.
- [Kasey laughs] - [Christina]
Chuck just staring at us.
- [Kasey] Chuck is back.
- [JT] Chuck!
- Go to your bar.
- Oh, my gosh,
- Chuck is back. [chuckles]
- it looks so good there.
[JT] Chuck is home.
He just seems so happy.
- Chuck's pub.
- Chuck's pub, baby.
Ladies, what can I get you?
- Right?
- Oh.
[JT] Well, of course, the best
part of the house is the bar.
- The countertops make it.
- Oh, okay.
[Christina] I can't wait
to see the girls' faces
when they walk in here
for the first time.
- [JT] They're gonna love it.
- Speaking of the girls,
I'm gonna go get them because
they have something for you.
- Oh, something for me.
- Yeah.
Surprise.
Surprise.
[JT] Well, we are obviously
so grateful for Christina.
Of course, going through this
process with the fire and everything,
she really
hit a homerun for us.
[JT] Oh, my gosh.
- Oh!
- Look at that.
- We've got a gift for you, Miss Christina.
- Oh, my gosh.
- Surprise.
- Are they for me?
[laughs] This is the best
- It's gonna start flapping.
- [shrieking]
This is probably the best gift
I've ever received in my life.
This chicken is going to be
the perfect addition to our family.
This chicken is going to be
the perfect addition to our family.
[Kasey]
Hey, welcome to the country.
It's a little something
to fill the coop, right?
-I mean, it's weird giving someone
a pet as a gift -[Christina] It's not!
- but I felt like I could give you a chicken.
- It's not weird.
Listen, it is not weird.
This is the best gift ever.
- Ohh.
- Thank you.
You're so welcome.
[Kasey] When we first started
talking to Christina,
we were in a place where we
had been frustrated, and healing,
and trying
to figure out all that out,
and I feel like
she took our vision
and just
wrapped her arms around it,
and we got exactly
what we wanted out of it.
- [Christina] Do you girls love the house?
- Yes, ma'am.
- [Christina] Do you girls love the house?
- Yes, ma'am.
Yes?
What's your favorite part?
[girl] I like the kitchen.
[Christina]
Yeah, the kitchen's so nice.
[Kasey] Seeing our
house finished is a relief.
It's happiness.
I feel like
we're gonna be settled now.
Oh, Delta, you're, like,
right at home, girl.
Perfect.
