Fact or Faked: Paranormal Files (2010) s01e08 Episode Script

Symphonic Spirits & Hovering Humanoids

- Tonight on "fact or - Paranormal files" Is house just gives me the creeps.
Did you guys just hear that? I definitely do not feel alone.
What is that? We don't know what it is.
Launch! That is insane.
Whoa, whoa, whoa! It's picking up a lot of speed.
That is a piano playing.
Stop.
Everyone, just stop! Oh, my goodness! There's a flying saucer.
I'm getting a series of lights right there.
Oh, my God! What the heck is happening? Okay, ladies and gentlemen.
Hey, there, Ben.
Hey, hey.
You ready to find our next two cases? Yeah.
Who's up first? Well, guys, there are millions of people saying it's the scariest clip they've ever seen.
This clip has spread across the Internet like wildfire.
And there's a lot of controversy about it, whether it's fake, whether it's real.
Check it out.
Whoa! Oh! Oh! Oh! That's kind of gruesome.
The guy that posted it claims that this is a guy that went into his room and is being attacked by a poltergeist.
So, that guy was never heard from again? - Supposedly.
That's another - "As the story goes" Yeah.
So, that just tells me that this is obviously a hoax, but it's a great hoax.
You know what? I think it's the same arm that's been duplicated throughout the room.
Especially if you look at the ones coming from the bottom of the wall, the little miniature arms they're all the same, all the same, exactly.
Well, what do the rest of you guys think? C.
G.
I think this would be a great clip in a horror movie.
I think we should move on now.
Definitely.
Agreed.
Bill, it's your turn.
This may be definitive proof of a ghost caught on videotape.
This is something that we've never seen before.
It was shot at a museum called valentown in Victor, New York.
This is a civil war museum.
This is considered the hot spot for paranormal researchers shadow-person encounters, people reporting feeling touched, the musical instruments that are stored there are being tinkered with.
If you look at the video, make up your own minds.
Okay.
Wow.
Oh, I see it in the background.
This is what looks like a ghost walking behind a woman who doesn't react to it.
She didn't hear or see anything.
What is that? That gives me the creeps.
It's almost like the stereotypical ghost.
Wait.
It's walking in front by that cross.
But you can see the cross through it.
It kind of passes through it.
That's what it appears.
And this is taken with a security camera? Security camera set up by Dwayne Claude.
I love that it's a security camera.
So many times we see a video, first thing you think is, "why is this person there? What are they doing filming?" A lot of other ghost-hunting groups have been there, correct? They have.
But nobody's ever reported anything quite like this before.
This is why this video has become such a sensation.
Not only is it creepy, but we also have a potentially credible witness who's willing to stand by that video.
I agree.
I mean, it's a case I would love us to take on.
It's not often you get a full-body apparition.
Think it's something that we should take a look at.
Great.
Okay.
Well, that brings us to jael.
I have a video that I like a lot because it's something that we have yet to work on.
It comes from a woman named Diana perla chapa, and she's a u.
F.
O.
Enthusiast.
She was actually having a meeting with a u.
F.
O.
Club that she's organized.
And they happened to see something in the sky.
I'm not gonna tell you what it is because I want you to give me your own opinions.
I'll just play the tape.
What is that? Is that a balloon? 'Cause it floats like a balloon.
Well, that's good that you say that because it's actually one of the theories.
But most of the people are talking about this being a flying humanoid, or, in Mexico, a bruja , which is a witch.
It looks like it's got a broom and a pointed hat.
There are quite a few videos out there of flying humanoids, but this is one of the better ones I've seen that actually kind of shows, like, a human form.
Flying humanoids are a phenomenon that have been reported worldwide.
And just the fact that there have been sightings right here in California, to me, I feel like we can actually even go investigate it here.
I think we definitely have enough.
We've never done this kind of case before.
Bill, what's your instinct? Some legends have origins in truth.
It's not often that we actually get, you know, a pretty clear silhouette form this close up of a flying humanoid.
I say we listen to Austin's case, but put this one up there.
All right, guys.
I have a phenomena that has literally been reported for the last 800 years.
This comes from the brown Mountain.
It's a rugged, low-lying Ridge in the pisgah national forest in west north Carolina.
The scientific community, they're yelling "natural causes" swamp gas, ball lightning.
However, the paranormal lore behind it is amazing.
In the 1200s, there was a huge I mean huge battle between two local Indian tribes.
Almost everybody died.
So, they're saying these are a lot of the maidens or wives of the Indian chiefs and warriors that died walking around with torches looking for them.
To me, it looks like car lights, or maybe some atvs could have gone up there.
There are no roads back there.
I'm inclined to think that there's a natural explanation to it, but I don't know.
We have stronger cases on the table right now.
That's what I was gonna say.
I like it, but it's so similar to the case that we've already investigated, so I would put it on the shelf for now.
I just don't think it's up there with our other contenders that we've seen today.
What are your favorites, then? Valentown ghost.
I like valentown ghost.
Kind of want to go find me a bruja.
Flying humanoid it strikes me as one of the strongest.
So, who's most enthusiastic to go to investigate the flying humanoid? Bruja.
All in favor? Three? Okay.
And you guys, I guess, valentown.
Valentown's recent and it's got strong video and the witnesses are available now.
Bill, with your ghost expertise, why don't you lead the team and take chi-LAN and Larry with you? Okay.
That leaves us with flying humanoid.
Let's get set.
Let's go.
Let's do it.
So, guys, we're here Victor, New York, home of the valentown museum.
Well, the valentown museum is well known for its hotbed of paranormal activity.
Investigators have come from all over the world to investigate this museum.
It is pretty much indisputable amongst the community.
Everyone believes that this museum is haunted.
So, Dwayne is the man who shot this video that we're investigating on April 24, 2006.
He's convinced that what he caught on tape that night is a ghost.
You're really setting the stage for, like, a really good ghost hunt.
I'm getting enthusiastic about this.
Oh, I think this is it right here.
What is it? That is really cool-looking.
Thank you, man.
Wow.
Wow.
Hey.
Hi, I'm chi-LAN.
Nice to meet you.
Carol.
Well, welcome to valentown.
It's good to be here.
This place looks like it has so many amazing artifacts.
It does.
It was built in 1879 to be a shopping mall that really never materialized, so then it became a museum.
Well, Carol, I have to say, we're really excited.
Can you give us a tour? I can.
Now, this is what we call the electric room.
Is this stuff still operational? Yeah, yeah.
This machine right here this is the influence machine, the static machine.
It will arc a spark about 6 inches long.
There's no doubt in your mind that there are spirits in this? Oh, there's no doubt in my mind none at all.
Is this one great room? Wow! A lot of activity up here.
Do you ever hear weird noises? We do hear music.
There was a murder here in the ballroom.
A lady was dancing with a fella, and her beau came in and shot the fella.
This ballroom is pretty eerie, Carol, I have to tell you.
It is.
Now we are in what we call the loom room For obvious reasons.
We have spinning wheels here, looms on the other side.
This is the room of the apparition.
This is the room.
There's a possible cross here.
We have the archway, right? Yeah.
Judging from looking at this cross and this arch, I think the camera was here.
That image seemed to walk by, and you could see the view was wide enough when you could see something pass in front of that window, this window, and then right here you could see this pole behind this figure.
When I bring my groups that come in here to investigate, they're, of course, snapping pictures to see if they catch anything.
And twice within a month period, as they flashed, they saw a man standing right here.
The night that camera caught that apparition okay.
What was the weather like? Do you recall? It was stormy.
It was stormy? Which it looks like it may be stormy again tonight.
Have the investigators that have been here over the years come to the conclusion that, during a storm, they're more likely to get activity or not? There seems to be a lot more activity during an electrical storm.
Now, a regular rainstorm, generally not so much.
But an electrical storm seems to really charge the activity up.
Carol, this place really does have that eerie quality to it.
Doesn't it, though? Thanks so much.
We know what spirits to look for now.
Exactly.
Have a good time.
Thanks.
The next thing for us to do is have an interview with Dwayne Claude, the guy who shot the original video.
Definitely.
Let's go.
It's nice to be here.
Thanks for coming and meeting us.
So, this the room where you shot the video? This is the shot everybody seemed to talk about.
It was one of those nights that it began to rain.
It poured.
There was thunder, there was lightning, to the point where everything was just flashing.
The place was electrified, literally.
The trifield meters were jumping all over the place.
You could just feel the energy change as the storm came in.
Why did you come to the valentown museum? To just more or less do an investigation.
They'd been having some reports of music playing, of seeing a shadow walk around.
We got a lot of really weird readings that night.
A few days later, went back, started looking through the video footage.
Came across something on camera.
Not gonna say 100% it was a ghost, because I don't know, but it's something I couldn't explain.
So, thank you so much for spending time with us and giving us your firsthand account.
Thanks.
So, let's start setting up the experiment.
Now, we spoke with Carol, who's the museum director, and she had actually theorized that the valentown ghost is actually just someone walking in the background out of focus.
We're hoping to re-create the video using this I.
R.
Cam and Larry and I in the video.
Chi-LAN's gonna be in the foreground in focus, and, hopefully, I'm gonna be out of focus in the background.
We have to be able to see all three windows, as well.
We have both the columns pretty much in the center frame, which I'm sure is what he was focusing on.
Does this look about right? Yeah.
Take a couple steps back.
You're in position.
I want to kill these lights, go infrared.
Let's go dark on three, two, one.
Dark.
- Coming up on "fact - Paranormal files" This house just gives me the creeps.
- Did you guys just hear that? -I definitely do not feel alone in here.
Now, I'm a skeptic, but, honestly, I can't fully explain it.
Launch! So, right now I'm hooking up our power supply to our focus experiment.
And, hopefully, in this experiment we're gonna be able to replicate what Dwayne caught a fuzzy image in the background.
All right, guys, it's time to go green.
Let's go dark on three, two, one.
Dark.
We're recording now.
Walk towards us.
All right.
A little bit hesitant.
Okay.
Go between the posts and the cross.
Out of frame.
Perfect.
Okay.
Let's go ahead and turn the lights back on, and let's do a side-by-side comparison.
Definitely.
Look at the definition.
It's just too defined my features.
In the original video, nearly all details are o obscur.
Larry just has too many details that are visible.
You're just too defined for us to really take this focus test seriously.
It's not working.
It's not a match.
What if it's something as simple as a reflection? Ause when you look around here, I mean, look at the number of windows.
I could believe that.
So, now it's time to eliminate the obvious.
For our next experiment, we're gonna move on to a reflection test.
Our reflective surface is a 6x8 sheet of plexiglas held in place by c-stands and secured by these knuckles.
We're gonna set up a completely black background.
I'm gonna be where the person in the video was standing.
Larry will be illuminated by this light source here.
Larry's reflection will bounce up towards the plexiglas, back towards the camera.
Hopefully, we can create our own ghostly image right here in the middle of the room.
All right, guys.
You ready? In three Two One Cut right.
Is it dimming? Actually, that's pretty good.
Well, guys, I think we got it.
What about we shut this off and then review it side-by-side comparison? - Yes.
- I agree.
The size isn't 100%.
Mm-hmm.
There are a couple of problems with this reproduction in that you are really bright.
You aren't as big as you should be.
But, honestly, as a ghostly video, you kind of have, like, that eerie orb around you, and you're transparent enough and you're going through things, you know? So, I think these are really good results, but I don't think it's an exact match by any means, and I think we have to move on.
I'm thinking maybe it's not so much a reflection.
Maybe it's more of a projection.
Ooh.
And if we do that, then we'll have control over the image because we can film this ahead of time, the ethereal image, and then project it on a suitable surface.
I like that idea.
Let's try that out.
It's now time to move on to an experiment we have a lot more control over, and that's gonna be a projection test.
Now, the first step to the projection test is actually to film our own mini movie of Larry walking.
Start swinging your arms and coming towards us.
It's looking good, Larry.
That does look good.
Keep going off camera.
Now I'm just gonna take this video, put it in the computer and then feed it into the projector so we can go ahead and project onto our wire-mesh screen.
We're gonna be projecting the image onto this wire-mesh because it will catch the image, the light of it, and, at the same time, you'll be able to see right through it.
Looking good, bill? All right.
I'm gonna get the lights.
In three, two, one.
Pass in front of the cross and then the pole.
And then take a step back so it gets a little bit larger.
Go off frame.
Right there.
I think we got it.
I still think it's a little too soft.
In the original, it does have soft edges, but you can still see that it is a figure with a head, shoulders.
If this is the best that it's gonna do, I'm not convinced that it's gonna work.
Maybe we have to get a little bit more sophisticated with our experiments.
Did you guys just hear that? What is that? What is That is a piano playing.
So, that's not my imagination? You guys are hearing that, too? No.
We heard it.
It happened twice while I was talking.
This is starting to mess with me.
Okay, stop.
Everyone, just stop! Maybe we have to get a little bit more sophisticated with our experiments.
Did you guys just hear that? - What is that? - What is That is a piano playing.
This is starting to mess with me.
Okay, stop.
Everyone, just stop! Let's stop this experiment and let's see what's going on.
I'm totally creeped out.
This is kind of weird.
Wait a second.
Did you hear that? Shh! Right there.
Wait.
Again.
It sounded like a guitar.
Like, I thought this had some, like, strings in it.
I think that used to have strings on it.
Yes.
It used to have strings on it.
It's a stringed instrument.
I don't know.
I don't know where these sounds are coming from.
I'm a skeptic, and I don't just think that this has to be proof that there is some type of paranormal activity here, but, honestly, I can't fully explain it.
There's enough reports of paranormal activity in this location that we're gonna launch into our own investigation.
We're all set up and ready to go.
Here are your radios.
We got the cameras set.
Correct.
I've got my equipment, and I'm headed to the basement.
I'm heading to the second floor.
I got my audio recorder.
All right.
I'll be watching you.
Good luck.
All right.
All right.
Temperature is normal.
Larry, chi-LAN checking in.
I'm not seeing anything just yet.
Larry, I'm heading into the taxidermy room.
I'm entering now.
Can you check something out for me? I see a reflection in the casing right in front of you.
It has an American flag, but it has a strange reflection, and I can't tell what it is.
Am I pointing towards it now? Yes, you are.
Larry, I believe that reflection is coming from the music room.
The windows there have lights across the street shining right through.
Okay.
During the conversation with Carol, while she was giving us a tour down here, she had reported a lot of activity towards the back left corner here of the basement.
I'm gonna begin a short evp session here.
Maybe you can say your name and this recorder can record your name.
I'm gonna try to trigger something using the influence machine that Carol showed us to try to stimulate some actity.
The investigators that have come here have said that stormy nights may help.
I'm gonna create some lightning.
This place it getting a lot eerier than I expected.
This house just gives me the creeps.
I just heard something, and I'm pretty sure It came from this room.
Did you hear that? I just heard a crazy groan.
Wow.
It is very cold in here.
I just heard a groan in this back corner.
I definitely do not feel alone.
Maybe we have to get a little bit more sophisticated with our experiments.
- What is that? - What is I just heard something.
I just heard a crazy groan.
So, how was it with the boys? It was all right.
Did you guys have an actual storm there? Yeah, we sure did.
We created our own storm.
Tell us about it.
What happened in valentown? We decided we'd settle on a couple of experiments Three of them the first one being we worked under the assumption that the figure that was behind was simply a person that was out of focus.
Larry was acting as our ghost.
Let's see what it looks like.
Well, obviously, Larry was still too well defined.
Well, then we decided that maybe the image we were seeing was an actual reflection.
Well, that's pretty cool.
It was still a little too sharp, and when we cast that reflection, you will see our light hit the ceiling.
Not a reflection but it's a projection.
" We set up a projector, and we created an image.
But the figure is way too diffused at this point.
But this is the thing while we were actually reviewing the results, we heard this clink of a piano.
Maybe we have to get a little bit more sophisticated with our experiments.
Did you guys just hear that? We got up, and we were like, "where is that sound coming from?" We busted into the other room, and as soon as you get there, you see a piano.
But then in the corner, we heard guitar strings starting to play.
They had a stringed instrument in the corner of the room.
But guess what there were no strings.
No strings? We knew now was the time to record evps.
It was then that we got this recording.
You don't see any signature of heat with the thermal imager? It sounded like something screamed.
I tend to believe that you were kind of experiencing some of the same patterns as the paranormal group that was there.
We had our own personal experiences the impressions we were getting, the musical instruments playing.
I feel that I can say that there was some paranormal activity going on in the valentown museum.
Well, guys, I think you guys actually captured some paranormal evidence at valentown.
Well done, guys.
Shh! Did you guys just hear that? SoTell us about the flying humanoid.
Well, the flying-humanoid case went really well.
We went full force with this one.
You guys remember a u.
F.
O.
Group in Mexico was having their scheduled meeting, and they spotted an object on the Mountain range.
And this is what happened.
So, may 17, 2006, is when Diana and her u.
F.
O.
Club filmed this in Mexico.
But these have been sightings all over the world.
I mean, recently, they have even been in Texas and north and Southern California.
I mean, they've been going on for, what, decades? I mean, people talk about ancient petroglyphs that depicted flying humans.
There's just a huge range of phenomena this is attributed to.
Yeah.
If it's next to a military base, people automatically assume, "oh, it's something the military's doing.
" In Mexico, the officer that saw it he theorized it to be a bruja, or a witch.
Other skeptics say that it's possibly just debris floating in the air.
I can't wait to talk to Diana, as well.
It's great that we could bring her out of Mexico, because it's not a very safe situation to go there for ourselves.
Very nice to meet you.
Very nice to meet you, too.
Can you tell us what you saw that day? I still don't know what I saw.
We arrived at the club for the reunion, the meeting.
And we were getting everything together, and somebody started yelling, "Diana! Diana! Run! Look what's in the sky!" We started looking at this thing, and it never moved from the distance to the Mountain.
It never the height was always the same.
The speed was always the same.
Did you hear anything when you were watching? Not at all.
That's another thing.
It didn't make any sound at all.
And what about the weather along the ridgeline? Was there any wind? A lot of wind.
How long was the figure in the sky? Like 5 1/2 minutes.
Now, seƱrora Diana, some people are saying that this video looks like a hoax, that either someone in your group did or somebody that was there and you didn't know.
That's impossible, especially for that thing not to fly away when the current of the air goes through the Mountain.
It would have to fly away.
Well, if you don't think it's a hoax, what do you think this could be? We don't know what it is.
It's a u.
F.
O Or a flying human.
I really appreciate your time.
Oh, thank you very much.
Thank you.
So, we just heard Diana's firsthand account, and we're ready to start our tests and see if we can re-create the video, find an explanation.
Diana mentioned that the winds did not affect the flight path of the humanoid.
One of the popular theories is that this was some type of self-contained propulsion system.
I had always kind of pictured Texas as superdry with tumbleweeds everywhere.
Didn't realize it was gonna be so rainy today.
You must be kinnie.
You bet.
Hi.
Ben.
Nice to meet you.
Ben, pleasure to meet you.
So, this is the place, huh? This is it.
So, let me ask you a question.
Is the weather gonna affect this experiment? Not at all at all.
We can fly when it's raining fairly heavy.
Usually, the crowds leave before we don't fly.
Perfect.
Can we see it? You bet.
You guys ready? Oh, yeah.
Oh, yeah.
All right.
Here we go.
Now, that is a jet pack.
Oh, yeah.
Right under this cowling here is the rocket motor.
It's 800 horsepower.
Oh, that's amazing.
So, who's flying this thing? Dan, our pilot, is.
Hey, hey.
Hey.
I'm Ben.
Hi, I'm Dan.
Good to meet you.
You like our toy? Yeah.
It's great.
About how many of these exist in the world? There are some enthusiasts out there that are trying to build rocket belts.
Where are those people in the world? There's a guy in england, and there's a person in northern California, and there's also one down in Monterrey, Mexico.
Really? Yeah.
Interesting.
That is interesting.
Right now we're doing the jet-pack test, and what we're trying to do is see if we can get the same exact speed and control as well as the hovering and gliding effect that we're getting in the original footage.
In Monterrey, Mexico, right next to where the original video was shot, there are a couple jet-pack enthusiasts who might have access to machines just like this.
Now that the rain has subsided, I think it's time to get you up in the air.
I got my fire extinguisher.
You guys go to your tent.
Let's go to it.
All right.
All right.
So, when we were showing Dan the original footage, we told him what we need is for him to fly from left to right and we need him to go at a specific speed so that he can match this object that's in the sky in the original footage.
Okay, you guys ready back there? We are ready.
We're about 300 yards away, and I'm gonna be recording the sound.
So, if we hear anything from this distance, you know what? Diana and her group, more than likely, would have, also.
Okay, Dan, are you okay? Dan is ready.
Okay, we are ready here.
Are you guys ready there? We're ready here.
In three Two One.
Launch! Right now we're doing the jet-pack test, and what we're trying to do isee if we can get the same exact speed and control that we're getting in the original footage.
In three Two One.
Launch! Successful! That is insane! He's okay.
Yes! Well done! That looked insane! Well done, Dan.
That honestly looked a lot more like the video than we had planned.
It looked great.
If I had 30 minutes of flight time, I could simulate that exact flight that you saw in the video.
But with the limitation at 30 seconds, there is no way that that was a rocket belt or a jet pack.
He's got the fluidity, the motion of the flight.
I think it looks really similar.
My issue is the fact that the rarity of these machines and if he could really fly that long to cover that distance like in the video.
Dan was only up there for about 30 seconds or less.
Diana also said that there was no noise.
And from that distance, though, you were still picking up quite a bit on camera.
Thank you so much, guys.
This was an amazing experience.
Thank you very much.
I want to come back and get some training in this thing.
Thank you.
Let us know what you find.
We will.
So, one of the popular theories is that the flying humanoid Is actually an object or a person on a zip line.
So, for this zip-line test, Austin's gonna be going from left to right on the zip line.
Jael will be filming.
And I'm gonna be watching him, trying to get a gauge on his speed and see if we need to make any adjustments.
The only one on the team with experience as a stunt man, I usually end up the crash-test dummy.
So, I'm about to join the zip line.
Basically, all it is is a harness attached to this pulley, which rides along a half-inch galvanized steel cable.
So, I'm putting a black shirt on, and I'm gonna use my glove to slow me down so I can hopefully match the same speed as in the original video.
All right, Austin, the moment you've been waiting for.
Are you ready for this? I'm feeling more bruja-esque by the moment.
Get ready in three Two One.
Fly.
Speed looks good.
Looks pretty good.
Not too bad.
The only thing is, I see the figure of just a guy, and it looks like he's in a seated position.
In the video, it looks like a weird blob of some kind.
I don't know.
You look like a man on a pulley.
Austin's flight path on the zip line was a straight shot through the horizon.
That part looked really good, but the shape of his body didn't exactly match the figure from the original footage, and, also, we got a little bit of shine reflecting off of the pulley system.
So, I think it's time that we move on to something a little simpler.
Right now we're about to test one of the prevailing theories and possibly the easiest explanation.
The alleged flying humanoid is actually just a piece of debris being carried along the ridgeline by the wind.
I actually think this might be what we saw in the video, some type of floating debris maybe a balloon, maybe a garbage bag or something that was caught in an air current along a thermal along this Ridge.
What we've done is jael's working on taking two sections of 6-foot mesh and sealing them together.
Inside of that, we're going to put these balloons seal the whole thing up in some type of an outline that resembles what we saw in the video.
All right.
I'm gonna head to the ridgeline.
I'm gonna start from the left, head right, run as fast as I can.
You guys just get me on the walkie-talkie, adjust my speed.
I'll count you down.
The wind is starting to pick up.
Let's go.
Okay, Austin.
We're ready to go down here.
Copy that.
He's the right distance to start this.
Okay, ready? In three TwoOne.
So, we're gonna be having Austin tethered to these balloons and trying to get the same trajectory just like in the video.
Okay, ready? In three TwoOne.
You know what? This can't be it because this thing that was flying in the original video was so smooth, it looked like a hard line.
It wasn't bobbing up and down.
You know, with the perfect conditions, it probably could happen, but I do think we need to try something with a little more control.
More control.
I have an idea.
Perhaps Diana was seeing the result of a very elaborate hoax.
If her group was out there that day, maybe someone knew they would be there this u.
F.
O.
Club.
Maybe somebody was on the ground, controlling an object for them to see.
So, in this next test, what we're gonna be doing is taking the insides of a remote-control helicopter, and we've put all the electronic parts of the remote control inside of here so that we can attach this to the bottom of a balloon.
We'll be able to control it remotely and hopefully get this thing to fly just like we saw in the video.
I am rolling and ready to go.
Okay.
I'm ready to control this.
Austin's down there at the bottom, ready to release the balloon.
Okay.
Here we go.
In three TwoOne.
Release the remote-control balloon.
That looks pretty good.
Wow.
Yeah.
Okay, here we go stabilizing it.
This is tricky.
Look at that.
Yeah, okay.
Lookit.
Whoa, whoa, whoa! It's picking up a lot of speed.
The "flying humanoid" case was really cool.
For our first test, we wanted to explore the theory that this was actually possibly just a hovering craft.
So, we actually found a guy in Texas who owns his own jet pack, and he let us take it up for a test run.
Wow! It actually looks pretty good.
There's a couple of problems with the jet pack, though.
It's that it can only stay airborne for 30 seconds, which is really quick, considering how long this other object was flying through the sky.
The next thing that we tried now, if you remember, this was shot in a mountainous area.
It's possible that there were some established zip-line routes.
Now, the zip line gave us that flat trajectory, but the silhouette didn't match the original video.
You can tell it's Austin.
So, after that experiment, we decided that we would try the simplest explanation in that this was probably floating debris.
Maybe a cluster of balloons were tied together and were carried along a wind current.
So, what we did was we took a few helium balloons, and we made a makeshift flying humanoid by stuffing those balloons in black mesh.
We had Austin running up the hill.
They were tethered pretty good.
I think you guys were actually on the right track with this one.
That's kind of the same line of thinking that we had.
So, in order to give us a little more control, we attached these balloons to the motors and servos of a remote-control plane.
So, we went ahead and threw together a composite of our r.
C.
Balloon with the original ridgeline.
Here it is.
You guys, look at the shape.
It's exactly like the original footage.
Yeah, that trajectory is really similar, and the silhouette is spot-on.
Now, this is a worldwide phenomena, but in this particular case, I think we've shown without a doubt
