Fact or Faked: Paranormal Files (2010) s02e20 Episode Script

Florida Woodland UFO & Black Forest Entity

Tonight on "Fact or Faked: Paranormal Files".
.
Whoa, look at that.
What the heck is that? Fire in the hole! - Here we go.
- One, two, three.
That was great.
What is that? What is that? What is this thing? I don't know.
There.
.
Wait.
Where's it going? It's getting smaller.
Bill, can't you still see it? - It disappeared.
- It just faded.
The best video evidence we've captured of an unidentified object in the sky.
Woo-hoo-hoo-hoo! Woo! Is there somebody here in this room with us? Oh, my God! Oh, my goodness! There's a flying saucer.
I'm getting a series of lights right there.
So, you seeing what I'm seeing.
What the heck is happening? - Hey, guys.
How's it going? - Hey.
- Hey, Ben.
- It's good? All right.
All right, well, who wants to start first today? I do.
Now, this video was shot in Hawaii on new year's eve just minutes before 2012.
Now, the family that captured this footage, they were enjoying a fireworks display.
And when they reviewed the footage the next day, they realized that they were being watched the entire time.
- Wow.
- Huh.
The video does move kind of fast, so make sure you guys pay attention to the bottom left corner.
Oh, I see it.
There it is.
I mean, it looks alien but still humanoid.
It's almost as if somebody is putting a flashlight onto this figure.
You know, Jael, I see what you mean.
I mean.
.
If it was from the flame, you would see that figure flickering, but instead, it's like a steady glow.
Exactly.
I agree.
It looks like the object is stationary.
Probably some type of a puppet, and that it was set up to have an external light source so you just barely caught glimpses of it.
My vote is that it's a hoax.
And I think we should move on.
All right, guys, well, I have a case that has baffled paranormal investigators for years.
and hearing rattling sounds and stomping across empty floors.
- Wow.
- So Steven decided to put cameras in and around the property to see if he could capture something.
You guys have to check this out.
Whoa, look at that.
What the heck is that? It almost looks like energy.
Something is trailing, like it's got flames or something hot, like, falling off of it.
He calls these things energy beams.
Wow.
I mean, what I find really interesting about this particular case is how these light sources seem to change directions very erratically.
They don't behave like you would think an insect would, that maybe it's caught on infrared.
So this is truly a perplexing case.
Now, the second video I have is even stranger than the first.
This one was shot inside the house with a locked-off shot on night-vision camera.
Take a look.
- Check that out.
- Whoa.
It looks like it's in slow motion.
What the heck is that? Whatever it is, it appears that it's almost spilling out over itself.
- It's like popping and just kind of.
.
- Right.
Now, I am really familiar with this particular case, and forensic investigators and paranormal researchers have been trying for years to solve this riddle.
Whatever is going on at the Lees' residence, nobody knows for sure.
The unfortunate thing is that the Lee family is now moving out of their home because of all these occurrences, so this could be our last chance to investigate what's going on.
Wow.
Both videos are highly testable.
This is really interesting, guys.
I like it.
Let's definitely put this near the top.
Cool.
- So, who wants to go next? - I've got a clip.
It comes from the panhandle of Florida, just outside of Pensacola.
It was shot November 2011.
Our witness, Joe, said he was driving on the 10 freeway when he noticed something in the woods, so he pulled over, pulled out his camera, started filming.
Take a look at what it recorded.
Look at it.
- Yeah.
What? - It almost looks like a ball of flame.
This looks too bright to be headlights.
Keep watching.
- Look it.
There's three lights.
- Wow! - You see that? There's three of them.
- That is just insane.
That is just amazing.
This is good stuff.
Bill, did the witness hear anything out there? No, he said that he could hear nothing, and then the object just disappeared.
Hmm.
Did he say if this was over land or water? He was unable to tell if it was land or water.
You know, it's pretty marshy up in this part of Florida.
Well, you know what? That opens up this case in terms of experiment options.
That's true.
I'm baffled by this one.
I think we might be dealing with something that is - quite significant here.
- Hmm.
I say we put it on the top of our list, definitely.
- Sound good? - Yeah.
- Yeah.
- All right.
Well, last but not least, I have a video that comes from St.
Paul, Minnesota.
Chris Brockman captures what might be poltergeist activity in his home.
Wow.
Now, strangely, they have three cats that seem to stare at the same empty space.
Multiple times throughout the day.
And the occurrences are happening more and more frequently.
They've started to document their findings.
Now, there's a lot of things going on in this video, so pay close attention.
Now, the first thing is, you might notice uh, there's kind of a mist that enters the room.
- Whoa, right there on the left.
- Oh.
I see it from the left.
Now watch when it leaves, over that cushion.
Keep your eye on it.
Look.
You can see there's like leg impressions.
Oh! You see the whole cushion go down? - Oh.
Weird.
- Yeah.
- And finally.
.
- Oh.
Well, I don't know, guys.
- Let's talk about the seat depressing.
- Okay.
It doesn't really look as if it's being pushed down.
But it almost looks like smudges, like it could be C.
G.
There's no real weight depressing on that cushion.
Why? What made you say that? Let me show you something real quick.
Focus on just this area right here.
Uh-huh.
That's the only part that you're actually seeing moving, okay? To simply make this look like it moves.
All you would need to do is give this effect.
You grab one point, and as you move, it smudges.
And it smudges everything around it to give the appearance of legs, but none of this is ever being manipulated.
It's 100% C.
G.
Guys, I didn't look at the cushions in such detail until you pointed that out.
I think we've shown that it most definitely is C.
G.
we should move on.
You know, well, guys, we have some great contenders.
I want to go to Florida all the way, you guys.
I can already think of 20 experiments for that case.
My vote goes for the Florida UFO.
Well, I really like my Black Forest case.
I feel like it has so much history, not to mention it's time-sensitive, so I feel like we should get on it.
I'm with Jael on this one.
I mean, the Black Forest has two separate videos, and neither one have I seen anything like.
I'm in.
Florida UFO.
So, Jael, why don't you, I, and Austin go to the Black Forest.
- Colorado? - Great.
And Bill, Lanisha, and Devin.
.
Florida UFO.
- That's fantastic.
All right.
- Okay, let's get to it.
It's, like, settled.
All right, guys.
We're on the I-10 freeway in the heart of Florida's panhandle, 25 miles outside of Pensacola.
Now, we're here to investigate that mysterious video that shows those three shimmering lights hovering in the swampy woods just off the highway.
It was November 2011 around 10:00 P.
M.
When Joseph, our videographer, he sees these amazing lights just pouring through the woods off the freeway.
So immediately he exits, he gets out his camera, and starts videotaping the event.
This area's known as a UFO corridor and the infamous Gulf Breeze sightings happened here.
And there's also a number of Air Force bases around here, such as Eglin and Hurlburt Field.
Now, maybe what we're seeing is just some kind of top-secret government project.
Nobody's come forward to claim responsibility for the video and nobody's been able to identify what the lights are.
This case is still a mystery.
Now, this next exit is the one that Joe took the night that he shot that video, so I'm looking forward to meeting him and getting his take on what he saw that night.
- Joe? - Yeah.
- Hey, how you doing? Bill.
- Nice to meet you, Bill - Nice to meet you.
So, Joe, tell us about the night that you shot this UFO video.
I was just heading to see a friend of mine and saw some lights.
Just kind of looked strange, so I decided to pull over and take some video.
Okay, now, is this where you shot the video? No, it was actually a little further over that way.
- We'd love to see that.
- Can you lead us to that spot? - Let's go take a look.
- All right.
I mean, I was shooting right out through this area.
It was drifting across from left to right.
- Did you hear anything? - Absolutely not.
- I mean, it was.
.
It was silent.
- Wow.
How long was the object floating? Something like that.
Did the object disappear? It was there, and then it was gone.
Do you think it was primarily over land or water? It was really tough to say, but it was definitely up high.
The video seems to abruptly end.
It seemed that my whole camera malfunctioned.
I found later that just the battery had died.
The battery was actually brand-new and wouldn't even take a charge again.
I mean, the camera was maybe two weeks old, as well.
What kind of camera did you use? - It was a DSLR camera.
- Okay.
- And would that be it right there? - Yes, it is.
Do you mind if we use it, Joe, for our experiments? - Sure.
Go ahead.
- Thank you.
You've given us a lot to work with.
Thank you for your time.
We appreciate it.
- Take care.
- Okay.
- We have our work cut out for us.
- We definitely do.
Joseph did say that it was basically at eye level and maybe with a slight elevation.
So we've got some options here.
We do see the tree, so this right here is gonna be our vantage point.
I think we should start with a land-based explanation.
I mean, a lot of people in rural Florida use all-terrain vehicles because it's a practical way to navigate through the woods and into the marshy areas.
So, what if what Joe saw was just an ATV with lights on driving through the woods? When it's seen moving through either leaves or branches, it could easily be misidentified.
Well, that makes sense.
I think we need to get ourselves an offroader.
- All right.
Let's go.
- Let's get going.
All right.
As you guys can see, this is our off-road vehicle.
It's plenty powerful enough to handle anything we need going through rocks, mud, and sand.
You can also see it's outfitted with a lighting rack.
This rack is gonna have these lights mounted onto it.
It's very common for off-road vehicles like this so they can off-road at night.
So, we should use this as our third light.
I can stand in the passenger's seat and hold this up, and hopefully that will give us the effect that we're seeing in the original video.
Right.
It makes sense that we would have a hand held spotlight because people who go offroading need to see what's in front of them because they could easily break an axle or pop a tire if they make a wrong turn.
Yeah.
Keep your eyes on the trail, because one wrong turn, you're in the lake.
We're gonna mount these lights, and we'll signal you when we're ready.
Let's see how that spotlight looks.
Do you have it handy? - I actually do.
Go ahead and.
.
- You might want to watch your eyes.
Lumos! Nice.
It's pretty bright.
All right, this looks really good.
I think we're ready to go.
Let's do this.
All right.
Our 4x4 lights are on, our jeep is at the starting point, and Bill is at camera P.
O.
V.
Hopefully this combination of lights and driving angles will help us replicate the UFO seen in the original video.
I've got you framed up.
Go ahead and start in three.
.
Two.
.
One.
Go.
Yes! These trucks are common off-road vehicles, and they're outfitted with a row of lights.
If this is, in fact, the source of the UFO in Joseph's video, we'll know in a minute.
In three.
.
Two.
.
One.
Go.
Woo! Looking good, Devin.
Keep going.
Keep going.
Woo! Perfect.
That's perfect, guys.
All right, guys.
I think I got it.
I'm gonna come join you guys for a side-by-side comparison.
Woo! That was fun.
Let's see what it looks like on the camera.
- Oh, wow.
Okay.
- Oh.
Whoa! Look at that.
Look at the way that it glows in the leaves.
- It does.
- It looks like flames almost.
- And I couldn't hear anything.
- Right.
And that diffusion that looks kind of smoky.
Mm-hmm.
- And, again, it looks nebulous.
- Right.
I could definitely see the light, but notice I said "light".
Because from that distance, they were pretty much converged.
Right.
We've been talking about this source being flame-like.
Why not actually use something that burns? Yes.
I think that's a great idea.
And let's put something high in the sky.
Far apart from each other, so that way we get three light sources.
- Let's get set up.
- All right.
Let's do it.
Okay, guys.
We need to light something on fire.
Let's revisit the idea of using a signal flare.
- Okay.
- We send one up in the air.
It'll float down in a controlled manner.
And we've used them before.
What do you think? But why would somebody be using a flare out here? Well, hikers and campers do often keep flares in their emergency kits.
I mean, they're used for a light source.
They use them for an emergency fire starter.
They use them to signal when they're in distress.
I'm thinking if we send up a rocket flare, it would have the altitude and the brightness to be seen from the highway at night and the camera's vantage point.
Okay.
Bill, you make an excellent point.
You guys, we also cannot ignore the fact that on this river, there's a whole bunch of boats, and on the boats, they use these fishing-pole holders, and they nicknamed them "rocket launchers" because they actually fit these signal rocket flares, okay? Now, this thing will shoot up about 1,000 feet.
It'll burn for about 40 seconds and give us a very nice, controlled descent, hopefully replicating that video.
- Okay.
- You're right.
Check it out.
Want to give it a test? Why don't you guys step back? Okay.
All right.
Whoa! Look at that, look at that, look at that! Nice.
Okay.
Maybe that's what Joe recorded on his camera.
Now, we're gonna have to get three flares up in the air at the same time.
It's gonna be pretty difficult.
Ah yes, that's why I think that this is a case of either misidentification or possibly a hoax scenario, because it could have easily been someone playing around with the signal flare and just shooting it up in the sky for kicks right off the side of the road.
It happens all the time.
You know what, guys? Let's do this.
- All right.
- Okay.
You want to give us a hand? All right.
Yeah.
Our three-tubed rocket-flare launcher is actually quite simple.
It consists of fishing-pole holders that you normally find on the back of a boat.
We attach those to a simple base.
We have a spring-loaded launching bar that we'll attach the pull strings of each flare to.
When we pull this cable, it will drop the bar, firing all three flares at the same time.
All right, guys.
So, let me let you finish setting up here.
I'm gonna head back to the vantage point.
Okay.
You ready to get started on these guide wires so we can stabilize this thing? Absolutely.
Okay.
First flare.
There it goes.
- Be careful not to pull on that.
- This is dangerous.
- It is dangerous.
- Yeah.
We have explosives here.
All right, so, our triple rocket-flare assembly is armed and ready to go.
Lanisha is over at the vantage point.
We're about to find out if what Joe saw in his UFO video were three flares.
Lanisha, we're ready to launch these rockets.
You got that camera rolling? I'm all framed up and ready to go, Bill.
On three.
.
Two.
.
One.
Fire in the hole! Hold on.
Where are they? Where are they? There we go.
One, two, three.
That was great.
Lanisha, why don't you join us here for a side-by-side? How'd it look from over here? Quite explosive, but let's see how it looks on the camera.
Definitely.
All right, guys.
Let me cue this up.
You know what? I'm seeing the fire.
- And it's definitely bright.
- Huh.
But, um, where are the other two flares? That's the thing.
I was only able to get one flare at a time.
The other two I couldn't find in the viewfinder.
They went up in the air at the same time, but the thing is that they didn't stay aligned at all.
They went in all sorts of different directions.
As soon as it fires up and launches, they're gonna go whichever direction they want.
- There's no fins.
- Mm-hmm.
There's nothing to keep them from going astray.
And there's no way to tether flares together to make sure that they stay 2 feet apart or 10 feet apart.
That's what we would need in order to replicate the video.
Doing this test really makes me think that our rack of lights is what brought us the best results, but our vehicle was wrong.
I think we can switch things up, and I think I have just the thing.
Interesting.
Let's pack up, and let's get ready for another test.
- Sounds good.
- All right.
Hey.
How's it going, Captain? How y'all doing, guys? Good.
It's a beautiful boat.
Permission to come board, Sir.
Ah, permission granted.
All right, guys.
This is a Basically, it's awesome.
So, we can just align the lights so they're visible from the side and the back.
Right.
Exactly.
And we'll space them about 3 or 4 feet apart, right along this side of the boat here.
Now, these boats can sometimes get pretty loud, so we'll have to see if we can hear it from the vantage point.
All right.
I'm gonna head back to the vantage point.
All right.
Sounds good.
I got the radio.
All right.
I'll see you guys in a bit.
Very good.
Hey, hey! Very good.
Lanisha, we're shoving off.
All right, Devin, I see you guys, and I have you all framed up.
All right, we're in position.
Count us down.
Get ready to go in three.
.
Two.
.
One.
Go! Go, go, go, go! Yes! Footage from 2008 shows a pair of blue mysterious disc-like objects streak past an airliner flying in the skies over Hawaii.
This footage was shot near Honolulu international airport, and the cameraman didn't notice the anomaly until the footage was reviewed later that day.
Is it Fact or Faked? The answer when we return.
The videographer captured two mysterious crafts while plane watching one day.
But are they Fact or Faked? Faked.
What appears to be two crafts mysteriously appearing in the sky is actually a reflection from the sun in the windshield of his car.
The objects remain stationary, and they appear to move because the camera is tracking the fast-moving plane from right to left.
We have 500-watt lights that we've mounted evenly spaced along the sides of the boat.
The way we have them oriented, they can be easily seen from the sides or the back.
Once we're all set, we can ferry the boat into position in the water.
And we can drift from left to right like we see in the original video.
Maybe that's an explanation for what we're seeing in the original clip.
Get ready to go in three.
.
Two.
.
One.
Go! Go, go, go! Yes! Woo-hoo-hoo-hoo- hoo-hoo-hoo! Hey, hey, Lanisha, how'd that look? That looked great, guys.
Why don't you go ahead and come back for a side-by-side? We are heading back to the dock right now.
- Woo.
Nice work.
- Yeah.
It looks awesome.
From where we were sitting, the fog looked like smoke kind of billowing up from the lights.
It looked a little bit like fire.
Take a look and let me know what you guys think about it.
- Look at that! - Oh, wow.
- It looks great.
- Seriously.
Oh, my God.
So, you see the light diffusing through the trees, just like we're seeing here in the original video, so that's a match.
Look, and there's three orbs.
- I mean, this is actually really good.
- It really is.
Except for the fact I could hear you loud and clear, and Joe did say the original video was silent.
I really thought this was gonna be the explanation.
This was the most logical one.
This straight up proves that when you put lights close to the surface of the water, no matter what, you're gonna see a reflection.
- You're gonna get a mirror image.
- Yeah.
You know, and our eyewitness said that he thought this was a UFO.
And this area is a UFO corridor.
- Yeah.
It's true.
- So, it's almost like we really should do a sky watch here.
Well, I don't think we'd be doing our jobs if we didn't.
Maybe he really did capture a flame-like UFO in the sky that night.
This could be a lot of work.
- We have a lot of river to cover.
- We do.
- Let's get set up.
- All right.
Sounds good.
Nice work out there.
All right, Dev, we're all set up out there.
Nice.
All right.
What you got? Okay, so, we got cameras covering this entire river, all right? Because we've got some known Air Force bases nearby, I've got two infrared cameras pointing at the direction of the bases in case anything flies in the area.
We've also got a full-spectrum Cam covering the main part of the river and an I.
R.
Cam over by the vantage point.
- All right.
- Anything flies in the sky tonight, we're gonna see it.
Now, Devin, while you're monitoring base camp, Lanisha and I, we're gonna jump on the boat.
If you see anything that we don't, let us know.
- We'll have our radio.
Okay? - Okay.
Sounds good.
Let's go green.
All right.
Sounds good.
Let's do it.
Lanisha, you know what's odd? The fog has completely lifted.
- That's right.
It did.
- Yeah.
It's gone.
I mean, if there's gonna be anything that's gonna show up in the sky tonight, - we're gonna see it.
- Definitely.
Yeah.
Bill and Lanisha, I got you guys on I.
R.
Ride safe out there.
Thank you, Dev.
Keep in contact.
Yeah, we're definitely gonna have to be careful out here, Bill.
It's pitch black, and there's lots of stuff going on under the water here.
Yeah.
Devin, we're gonna explore a little closer to the shoreline, so, uh, if you see our lights, you know it's us.
Copy that.
Bill, how far down the shoreline are you? We're out a mile and a half away from the dock, and we're about 50 yards from the shoreline.
Bill, you guys are way out of my eye line and I'm getting some.
.
Some, like, glowing flashing lights at the edge of the channel over here.
Devin, we're not seeing anything.
How much above the horizon are you talking about? It looks like it's very close to the water surface.
But I cannot see them with my naked eye.
Copy that, Dev.
We're gonna look with the spotlight.
Standby.
All right.
Let me know when you're using the spotlights so I can tell if that's what I'm seeing.
Hey, Devin, our spotlight is on.
Are you seeing it? Negative.
What are you seeing up there, Bill? Lanisha, I don't see anything.
There's no bridge structures.
There's nothing.
Whoa! Whoa! Whoa! What is that? Whoa.
They're gone.
The lights are gone.
They've been there the whole time.
The lights are gone.
Where'd they go? Devin for Bill, I had a row of about five lights that were static, and now they disappeared.
Do you copy? Devin for Bill, do you copy? Look in the middle of the trees over there.
Oh! Look at that.
What do you think that is? I don't know! What is that? What is that? What is that? Devin for Bill, do you copy? I've got major activity on one of the IR Cameras.
Bill, where are you? We're here, Devin.
Can you hear us? Yes, Bill, at the end of the channel right around the bend, there's a major light source on the IR Camera.
Can you see it? We're recording on it right now, Devin.
We don't know what it is.
I'm zoomed in on it, Devin, and I still can't identify what it is.
I can't even see it with my naked eye, but I can see it on the I.
R.
, and it is very bright.
Bill, I've seen a couple light sources tonight.
I've never seen anything like this before.
Lanisha, look at this.
Devin, what is this thing? Whoa! Whoa! Whoa! What is that? Bill, where are you? We're here, Devin.
Can you hear us? Bill, at the end of the channel right around the bend, there's a major light source on the IR Camera.
Can you see it? I'm zoomed in on it, Devin, and I just can't identify what it is.
I've never seen anything like this before.
Lanisha, look at this.
Devin, what is this thing? - What is.
.
- I don't know.
But that's no helicopter.
I don't know the source of the light.
- It almost looks.
.
- I can't identify this.
There it.
.
Wait.
Where's it going? Where's it going? It's getting smaller.
Bill, can't you still see it? Just now it faded out.
It just faded.
Where the hell did it go? Are you guys looking at this? Okay.
Well, guys, how was your investigation? Well, as you know, we went to the Florida panhandle to investigate that UFO encounter that took place right off the I-10 freeway.
We determined that what we were seeing in the original video was most likely just a boat with three lights on it.
But because this area is known as a UFO corridor, we had to stay and do a night watch.
And that's when things got really interesting.
- Yeah.
- Really? So, Bill and I went out on the river, and Devin stayed and manned base camp.
Now, we had infrared cameras covering all areas of the sky and a full-spectrum camera covering right where the vantage point was.
Mm-hmm.
Things started to get a little weird.
One of the infrared cameras started to pick up a really strange light source over by the riverbank.
Bill and Lanisha are on the boat around the corner already, and I'm like, "what are these light sources?" " Why are they dancing? Why are they moving?" I really couldn't see anything that he was describing, but as we came around the bend in the river, Lanisha and I suddenly saw something that we can't explain.
Why don't you go ahead and play this next clip? What? What the heck is that? Well, we're not sure what that is, and before we could figure it out, the lights abruptly just disappeared.
That's when we caught this.
Holy crap! Did you see that? See that? I got to see this again.
That thing flies off at breakneck speed.
That's unbelievable.
Guys, none of us have seen military craft behave like this.
This is quite possibly some of the best video evidence we've captured of some unidentified object in the sky.
Think about how this could possibly validate the original video.
He said he heard absolutely nothing.
Devin, that was right behind you, and you didn't hear a thing, did you? No, I didn't hear anything.
This is a visible object because that motion tracking on this camera was also picking up on the reflection of the water.
So it's picking up the object in the sky and on the water - as it's coming around the bend.
- Oh, wow.
I see what you mean.
You're totally right.
Guys, I am absolutely floored.
This video is just utterly amazing.
It's no wonder that that area is known as a UFO corridor.
This case is still open.
- Definitely.
- Yeah.
Tell us about the Black Forest haunting case.
We looked at this strange Black Forest entity in Colorado, and this is how it turned out.
So, this is the Black Forest, just outside Colorado Springs.
And it is icy.
Now, these two mysterious videos that we're gonna look at, shot in the home of Steven Lee, they've had paranormal researchers baffled for years.
Now, he says that the activity has been going on nonstop.
But for the last 10 years, he's refused to talk to the press about it.
Well, the police have even been called out dozens of times, and Steve actually invited one of the State Senators to come out and investigate himself.
And get this.
.
He actually did come out, and he captured his own anomalies on his own camera.
Well, this is it.
Hi.
Hi.
How you doing? Steven.
Ben Hansen.
Nice to meet you.
Come on in.
Thank you.
Thank you.
Wow.
Steven, what drew you to come here and to move up into the mountains? Well, we used to come up here on vacation, liked it, and so we moved up here.
What year was that? I would say 1982, I think.
How long was your family here until you started noticing these strange occurrences? Oh, I would say six or seven months.
Uh, we would hear noises, you know, voices, doors opening and closing, beams of light.
.
Things like that.
What brought us here were actually a couple videos that caught our eye.
One of them has what depicts a circular plasma ball.
Where was that taken? I think my camera shot.
.
It was set up right here, and it was pointed out in this direction here.
Do you by any chance have the camera with you that you shot the video on? Yeah.
Would you mind if we borrow that? And use it for a couple experiments.
Go right ahead.
This is it right here, yeah.
It looks like it has I.
R.
settings.
Was the video shot in I.
R.
? - Yes.
- Okay.
Perfect.
Now, we understand that one of the other videos was taken outside.
- Correct.
- Can you show us where that was? - Sure.
- All right.
I had my camera sitting up there, pointed out in this direction here.
What time of the year was this video shot? It was somewhere in July.
Now, some people believe that you're the one hoaxing these things.
Mm-hmm.
Can you say that you've never been involved in any hoax whatsoever? No, none whatsoever.
I wouldn't harass my own self or my family.
You said that you plan on moving into a different location.
Yeah.
The last six months, it seems like it's increasing, and it's just a little bit too much for us.
.
Too much activity.
We want to go on with a normal life, you know? Makes sense.
We're gonna stay and do some experiments.
- We appreciate your assistance.
- All right.
Thank you.
All right, guys.
Let's move into a space where we can work.
- Let's go find it.
- Okay.
Woo! Have I mentioned it's cold yet? Yeah, it's freezing.
So, let's tackle the first video, the one that has that light entity that seems to be kind of streaming in and out of the trees.
Well, I mean, we're outside.
It's night and we're in the woods.
So one natural explanation would definitely be fireflies.
I mean, the bio luminescence would give the glow, filmed on a slow shutter speed, plus the erratic flight pattern of the firefly.
I mean, that could be what we're looking at.
Well, we do have a problem here.
Steve said that this video was shot in July, and right now it's 24 degrees.
And fireflies wouldn't be out this time of year.
They need warmth.
The good news is that I do have this very cool L.
E.
D.
light to simulate fireflies.
The glow lasts the same duration.
It has the same intensity.
So this should be able to work.
I think in the middle of winter, this is the closest we're gonna get to making it look like a firefly.
So, we're not trying to say that Steve actually hoaxed us.
We're just gonna try to re-create what a firefly would look like and see if that's what we're dealing with in the video.
Okay, well, we've got the trees here.
We've got one, which will be the primary one that you're seeing in the video, and then we could use this one over here, and we could anchor a wire and then string it down to the stake over here on the side.
- Mm-hmm.
- Then we can kind of mold that wire, and it will give kind of a different undulating - flight pattern.
- Yeah.
Perfect.
And then we'll use the mono-filament just - to pull that L.
E.
D.
across.
- I like it.
- All right.
Let's get to work then.
- All right.
We're using a simulator, which stays lit for the exact same amount of time as a real firefly, as well as the exact same illumination as a real firefly.
We're gonna test to see if maybe what Steve saw that night was just simply a firefly flying through the camera at a slow shutter speed.
All right.
You guys all framed up? We're all framed up, Austin.
All right.
I'm gonna let this thing fly in three.
.
Two.
.
One.
We're gonna test to see if maybe what Steve saw that night was just simply a firefly flying through the camera at a slow shutter speed.
All right.
You guys all framed up? We're all framed up, Austin.
All right.
I'm gonna let this thing fly in three.
.
Two.
.
One.
- Pretty cool.
- Yeah.
Yeah.
Well, come back here.
And let's take a look at it.
- Hey.
- Pretty good, huh? Yeah.
You know, and especially since the fact that it's only lit for a second, with the slow shutter speed, it actually does give that whole trailing effect.
Yeah.
There's definitely a trail there.
The glowing effect is really good.
This could be a plausible natural explanation.
I think so.
Absolutely.
What do you guys say we try to tackle the second video? That works.
All right.
Okay.
I like it.
Well, let's take a look at the second video.
This object seems to have almost like a halo effect over it, almost as if it were a bubble with some kind of contents inside of it, and then when it stops moving, it's as if it bursts and then spills the contents down to the ground.
Well, we could make a bubble, fill it with vapor from dry ice.
Somebody could use a low-powered fan, and that would send it from left to right.
And then when the bubble crosses frame, we could use, like, a pellet gun to puncture the top of the bubble.
I don't know.
This sounds pretty fun.
You guys want to make some bubbles? Yeah! All right.
Let's go get set up.
Let's do it.
All right.
For the first experiment of the second video, we're going to test the hoax scenario.
Now, it's possible that what this was.
.
Was some type of bubble, and hopefully the IR Camera will make it look like it was plasma like in the original video.
What we've got here is our bubble delivery system.
We've used some dry ice.
With this nozzle, we'll be dipping it into some bubble mixture, and then by closing the container, there'll be some pressure coming out of the nozzle and creating our bubbles with vapor inside.
I've got a fan right here.
And with that fan, we can manipulate flight trajectory so that the bubbles move straight across frame.
Okay.
Let's go green.
- All right.
- All right.
Here we go.
Jael, when the bubbles get to this location, this is where you have to fire.
This is where it dropped in the original video.
All right.
Nice.
That movement is actually perfect right there.
Guys, this looks great.
I think we got what we need, guys.
I want you to see what I'm looking at on my screen.
Let's bring it in for a side-by-side.
Okay.
Sounds good.
Let me get the lights.
All right.
Well, guys, we definitely got an illuminated object that was roughly the same size.
It moves across the frame, and on top of that, even explodes in the right spot.
But I'm thinking that's about where the similarities end.
I think we've got something that people describe as orb-like, but that plasma is just not there.
I think we need something that emits its own light source, because we used the I.
R.
light to kind of reflect off an object.
.
Mm-hmm.
And it wasn't giving us the exact effect we needed.
So, what we thought was a bubble, might actually be like a lens flare of the light and heat combination coming off of something that actually is very hot.
Right, and if we can use something that's burning that can emit some of its own debris, it could cause that spilling effect that we want.
Okay.
So, we're gonna need something that's on fire, and we're gonna need a way to move this through the camera frame without it looking like we're moving it.
And we'll put something on the ground so that the Lee family is okay and we don't burn their carpet.
Safety first.
Let's get to it.
Okay.
Sounds good.
First thing we're gonna try is, we're gonna see how a sparkler looks, and then we're gonna see how this lighter works.
And I'm gonna try the same movement and everything that we saw in the original video, dropping down at the same time.
- Here we go.
- Re-create the flight path.
Okay.
Here we go.
- And drop.
- Right there.
Perfect.
Oh, that was good.
Hey.
Ben, that wasn't bad for a first go, yeah.
Okay.
Let's get one more out of that.
Come in a little bit quicker and then slow down about halfway through the frame.
Go.
Yep.
Go.
And.
.
Drop.
- That was good.
- I think we got it.
Let's go ahead and move on to the next one.
Okay.
Well, we have the lighter itself.
I'm liking this.
And up and drop.
Okay.
Go ahead and do it one more time, only you seem to be fading down a little bit as you're - coming to the right of frame.
- Go straight? - Yep.
- Okay.
Here comes the quick streak.
Slows down.
All right.
I think we got what we need.
Let's bring it in for a side-by-side.
All right, man, check this out.
- So, here's the sparkler.
- Mm-hmm.
Very sparkly.
You know, I think it's a lot better than our bubble test.
Having a self-illuminated source in front of the camera is definitely a lot closer.
We're on the right track there.
My issue is that in the original video, it has a unique shape, but it's almost like serrated edges, you know, that are morphing, and we're not getting that effect with this.
Well, you want to see what the lighter looked like? - Yeah.
- Watch this.
Our flight path was pretty much spot on.
- Yup.
- Right.
I'm just not seeing the same shape that we have here there.
The trail in the original video, it's so much brighter.
It looks like it almost dissipates.
- Yeah.
- Our trail, it's just not doing that.
I think it's a great shot, but what I think we're seeing here may not be so easily explained.
Yeah, I mean, given all the experiences that the Lee family has had in this home and the fact that we've never seen another video quite like this one, we should definitely investigate the paranormal realm.
Let's see if we can set up in the same locations that are really active and at least get, you know, closer to some answer, if anything.
All right, guys.
Camera one.
It's actually full-spectrum camera, and that's where the second video was caught facing the kitchen.
And right next to that, we have his original camera.
Second camera, we have facing that main area in the front room.
And, of course, we have his bedroom.
I'll be your guys' eyes in the field.
Let's go green.
Okay, Austin.
I'm gonna actually start some EVPs, so for the next couple minutes from now until when I pick it up to go upstairs, let's just make sure that the radio contact is on.
Copy that.
We're in Steven Lee's home, in the Lee family's home.
We just want to know what you want.
If there's something that's tying you to this property or perhaps to the Lee family.
Is there somebody here in this room with us? Whoa.
It sounds like something's moving on the roof.
It does, doesn't it? It sounds like.
.
You know how if somebody's moving furniture? Is there somebody upstairs? Hey, Austin.
We just finished with a little EVP session downstairs.
We're gonna proceed upstairs.
Dude, you guys be on your toes.
Austin for team, I have a complete visual of you.
Copy that, Austin.
Definitely an eerie feeling up here.
What is it about this house? Is it something with the family? What was that? Given the rich paranormal history of the Lee family home, we've decided to launch into a full night investigation and dig a bit deeper.
What is it about this house? Is it something with the family? - What was that? - What? Did you just take a photo? No.
What was that flash of light? When? Just an explosion of light like right behind me.
Was it that? No.
I heard some.
.
I heard a sound, like a fuse went out.
Like a pop.
Like a bulb.
Like a "poof.
" Like right behind me.
That's strange.
Uh.
.
Keep an eye on this camera that's on us.
We were just asking some questions, and it appears like we might be getting something reacting.
Copy that.
I'll keep a visual.
Did you just do that? Did someone here just make a light flash? I'm taking photos into this mirror.
Can you show yourself in the mirror? We would love to see what you look like.
The family's selling this house.
Do you want them to leave? Oh, my God! So, Ben and Jael were upstairs, and that's when things started getting interesting.
We started an EVP session.
Now, I had the tape recorder going, and I was asking questions.
Check out what we caught on one of the ir cameras.
Okay.
Look in the top part of the screen.
Whoa.
Whoa.
What's that up there? - You guys don't know what that is? - Someone taking photos? We were taking photos throughout the night.
- But at this particular time, we were not.
- Right.
At the same time, I had my audio recorder recording the whole conversation, and this is what you hear.
What is it about this house? Is it something with the family? Okay, at the very end of that, you hear, like, some type of a little pop.
Listen again.
What is it about this house? Is it something with the family? No way.
Yeah.
Seriously? It's kind of consistent with what the Lees were saying, that there were flashes of light in the house.
- Wow.
- Hmm.
So, we continued asking questions, and all of the sudden, I heard a thump.
The dresser moved.
In a second, I found myself on my back.
No way.
Yeah.
I don't know what happened.
All of the sudden, I look to the left, and Ben was on the floor, as if he had been knocked over by something.
It's amazing, but it's frightening.
What's your take on what goes on at the Lee home? While we got close with our firefly test, we never really matched the other video.
And with what happened with the night investigation.
.
I think we left the black forrest with more questions than answers.
I think that given the history of this place.
.
It's a legitimate and on going mystery.
The Black Forest entity.
Uh, fact for me.
