Fantastic Four (2006) s01e07 Episode Script

Zoned Out

(GROWLING) HERBIE: Welcome back, Dr.
Richards.
And this is my lab.
(FRANKIE EXCLAIMING) This is where I come up with all kinds of amazing world saving stuff.
Oh, hello, Jonathan.
Will Dr.
Richards be joining you this evening? Not tonight, HERBIE.
I gave him the night off.
I'm just giving Frankie here the tour.
Would you like to play your videogames, Jonathan? No, bring up a schematic hologram Something shiny and impressive.
Maybe I should call Dr.
Richards.
No, what you need to do is make me look smart.
And call me "doctor.
" - What did you say you invented again? - You know, things.
Space travel, the Internet, the color blue.
Wow! Oh, this is cool.
Yeah, I know.
I'm crazy smart.
I've got a time machine around here somewhere.
Frankie, what are you Don't touch (SCREAMING) that.
HERBIE: Don't worry, Jonathan.
I will call Dr.
Richards.
No, no.
No one's calling anyone.
If Reed and Sue find out we're both in trouble.
Especially you.
Me? But I It wasn't I didn't - Me? - Uh-huh.
Really? Mad at me? Yup, unless I get her back.
So, shh, until I come home.
Oh, boy.
REED: No, honestly, I'm on my way.
No, I do not think I get distracted easily.
I Fascinating.
The space-time curve lengthens as I Oh, what? I'm sorry, what were you saying? Yes, I know the Baxter Building tenant's association meeting is starting.
I'm walking to the elevator right now.
I Susan, I think I might be just a little late.
Go ahead and start without me.
Start without you? Sorry.
Reed will be joining us shortly.
I highly doubt it.
He's running a little late, but that's okay.
Let's just get started with the meeting.
And to answer your question, Mr.
Bartleby, no.
We don't foresee any supervillain attacks this week.
But you never know with that kind of thing.
You don't have to raise your hand, Mr.
Wilson, your water pressure will be back to normal soon.
Huh? And then we'll apparently be working on the electrical systems.
Must have salsa.
I hope Suzy brought some.
Guess we don't really need an oven, Johnny and all.
Someone should have told me though.
Huh? My salsa.
(BEN GROANING) Yes, I'm still coming to the meeting.
I'm just taking a shortcut through the lab.
SUZY: What? HERBIE, do you know anything about a non-terrestrial life-form in the building? I don't know where Johnny is.
HERBIE, what are you Hey, yo, Stretch.
You might want to come down here.
We got ourselves a bug problem.
Here, buggy, buggy, buggy.
Here, boy.
(WHISTLES) Come out, come out, wherever you are.
Huh? (BUG SCREECHING) You might want to bring Suzy when you come down.
And Johnny, if he's not too busy goofing off.
(FRANKIE SCREAMING) Go, go, go, go.
I'm right behind you.
Nothing to worry about.
(GROWLING) FRANKIE: Hyperventilating! They eat fire.
Oh, man.
This is it.
I'm gonna get eaten.
All my friends said, "Don't go out with him.
"You'll get eaten by a big monster.
" And now it's happening.
Whoa, whoa, whoa.
Frankie, we're gonna be fine.
Seriously, I do this kind of stuff everyday.
You got nothing to worry about.
- Really? - Yeah.
Sure.
Now try to keep up.
We have to (FRANKIE SCREAMING) Frankie, would you stop touching stuff? Hang on, Frankie.
No, wait.
Let go, let go, Frankie.
You're supposed to be the superhero.
Save me! Does everything here eat fire? This is so bad.
Johnny, you can stop impressing me now.
Maybe it's a supervillain attack or a monster.
Or maybe the building is being launched into space.
Yes, the lights are flickering but I'm sure there's a reasonable explanation that doesn't involve supervillains or monsters.
It's the termites.
They're eating the lights.
I can hear them in the walls.
Mrs.
Monet, I can assure you, the Baxter Building does not have REED: Susan, I need you upstairs.
I think we may have a bug problem.
Thanks for the heads up, Mr.
Fantastic.
(BEN GRUNTING) Come here, you.
You're a quick little guy, you Uh-oh.
I'm gonna need a net or something.
Ben, I've analyzed one of the bugs.
I Why are you at my Better not look, buddy.
It's not pretty in there.
My room.
My inventions.
Hey, quit eating that.
Stop, those are delicate.
Give my electron microscope back.
Focus! But my stuff.
Stretch, we got bugs.
Now, what's your plan? Upon spectral analysis of the exoskeleton In English.
They're from the Negative Zone.
But based on their shells they appear to be newborns.
Yeah, they grow, I got that.
But their numbers are multiplying and there's no leak or portal into the N Zone for them to keep coming from.
There must be a mother bug somewhere hatching them.
We have to find it before it can lay more eggs.
Or worse, before they get out of the building.
Yeah, yeah, keep the world safe.
I get it.
If we can capture the mother, get it back home, the babies should follow.
And what do we do with this? In English.
If you find the mom, zap her.
(SCREAMING) You're paying for all of this of course.
Bad bug, bad.
Miss Monet, I really don't think that's helping.
This is in direct violation of the building code.
I'll have you expelled for this.
If I leave, Courtney, I leave these bugs here, starting right now.
Reed, you really need to come to this meeting.
BEN: So, what are we looking for here? Well, it will be similar to the other bugs, but bigger obviously.
Obviously.
It might have a distinguishing feature, like a special shell.
Uh-huh.
REED: Maybe even a different coloring to distinguish it from the males.
Wouldn't it be interesting to see that animals from another dimension followed similar gender characteristic delineations as here on Earth? Maybe I should write a paper.
Yeah, that would be riveting.
Reed, I think I found the mama.
(BEN SIGHING) (BEN GROANING) Okay, ma'am, I don't want to have to hurt you, but Who am I kidding? Now stay there.
I gotta get a roach motel or something.
Hey, quit that.
Reed? Reed? I could use some suggestions here.
Reed? That's cutting edge technology, not food.
Persistent little creatures, aren't you? Energy.
They feed on energy.
Incredible.
Reed, I'm a happy person.
I like to smile, laugh, have a good time.
I don't like to nag or yell about giant alien bugs.
But I could have really used you in that meeting.
Can't think about that right now.
I may have given Ben some bad information.
We have to go find him.
And what am I supposed to do with these? I'm working on that.
For the moment, though, just don't drop them.
The power cord of the building is shielded so they shouldn't be able to sense that and we'd know if they were there anyway.
- How? Alarms? - More like explosions.
That's it.
I'm moving out.
This is ridiculous.
What are you just standing there for? - Run! - It's okay.
I figured it out.
The creatures consume energy.
They're attracted to your power pack.
We can use that to lure the bugs up to the lab then open a portal to the Negative Zone.
All you have to do is What? No! Forget it.
I ain't being bait.
I (EXCLAIMING) Okay, so, just give me five minutes.
Distract it or something, then bring it up to the lab.
Okay? Great.
Thanks, Ben.
Swell, I'm stuck here being bug bait and Johnny's probably out having a blast.
HERBIE told them where we were and Reed is gonna save us.
He'll come for us.
It's Reed.
He knows everything.
- He'll come.
- You're not really a doctor, are you? I bet you didn't create the Internet either.
You'll see.
Reed will save us.
They're probably on their way.
Any minute now.
HERBIE, I need to shut down power to the building outside the lab and central elevator.
HERBIE: This wasn't my fault.
- Okay.
- Your computer is weird, Reed.
- What now? - Right.
With everything else shut down, Ben's pack should be the biggest concentration of energy.
It should draw all the bugs after him.
Oh, dear.
- Hey, guys! - Ben, where's the bug? On her way.
(ALARM BLARING) Hey, I held up my end.
Where's the door? Reed, there's too many of them.
Yes! Ben, the pack, throw it in! Uh-oh! It smells your computer, Reed.
HERBIE: Doc, keep it away! No! Well, that was horrible.
(JOHNNY SCREAMING) (FRANKIE SCREAMING) Johnny? But when did you How Why were you We We're back! Thank you! I saw the portal, I knew it was you.
Thank you, thank you, thank you.
It was horrible.
You saved us.
I knew you'd save me.
Thank you, Reed.
Thank you.
You know, for a superhero, Johnny isn't very brave.
I am so I just I didn't want to make you feel embarrassed by being too brave.
Yeah, that's it.
Nice time to go joyriding, Matchstick.
We could've used you with those bugs.
(HUMMING) (CATS MEOWING) Here you go, kitty.
