Cash In Cash Out

1
Just turned in my last paper,
which means Andre Johnson
Junior is no longer a freshman.
I've only got a couple
days left on campus.
Gotta make them count.
Okay, so the last three weeks
in L.A. have been pretty perfect.
Only two days left
before I'm back on my grind
in the city that never sleeps.
And I want to make the
most of my time left.
So with the clock running down,
me and my crew have got to turn up.
And all I want to do is
turn down with my man.
We're gonna get takeout,
spend late mornings in bed,
oh, and watch a marathon
of "Blind, Drunk Love."
Oh, my God. Wow.
You only get this many notifications
if someone's died or
you've won an award.
Maybe I've won an award.
This may be the last chance
for me to hang with my crew,
but luckily, I still get
to spend some quality time
with my girl, Grace, before
she goes away for the summer.
Is everything okay?
Hi. Hey, Morgan, I got
your 15 missed calls,
but I saw your three
911 texts. What's up?
We need to talk.
What?
What do you mean our
biggest investor pulled out?
This isn't working.
- You can't be serious.
- You can't be serious.
Um, uh, where does this leave Anti-Muse?
That doesn't make sense.
I thought we were happy.
How could they just walk
away from the company
and leave me hanging?
I'm really sorry, Andre.
- Oh, my God.
- Oh, my God.
- It's over?
- It's over?
Okay, so, no big deal.
Just lost my investor, and
everything is falling apart.
Aah. When I say it out loud,
it really sounds like a big deal.
All right, I just have
to come up with something.
Think, Zoey, think.
Use your mind. Use
your mind. Think. Think.
- Think. Think. Think. Think
- Baby? Baby. Hey.
- Hi.
- I understand
that you're stressed out
right now. I get that.
But maybe you just need to take a beat,
you know what I mean? Just
slow down for a second.
I can get you some
food. Make you something.
Babe, it's just not time
for a breakfast burrito.
Them breakfast burritos
is slapping, though.
So, not hungry.
Uh, maybe you pivot.
You find a new investor. You restart.
Just wish it was that simple.
But any firm that would back us
is gonna be totally scared off
by the fact that we just got
dropped by our biggest investor.
And, not to mention, I inherited
so much company debt from Luca.
We almost I don't
know where to start.
- I don't know what to do.
- We don't say Luca in this house.
Zo, you you fix it.
Because that's what you do.
Play chess, not checkers.
This is a marathon, not a sprint.
You're not a businessman,
you're a business, man.
- Mm-hmm.
- Or woman,
but you know what I'm saying.
I know what you're saying.
- Big Zo-Zo.
- Mm-hmm.
- They don't know you.
- They don't know me.
- So what you gonna do?
- I'mma tell 'em, right?
I'mma put my boss boots
on. I'mma punch the clock.
- I'mma get to work!
- So go out!
- Let's do it!
- Yeah!
I do need higher heels, though, first.
Hmm.
Yeah, you go do that.
I am not gonna lie. Who eats this?
Gamma Last Chance invites are here.
- All right.
- One for you.
Thank you.
One for you.
Aww, it's finally paying off
to be a WAG. Thanks, babe.
And you.
You have given me a lot
of side eye recently,
and I just am not sure
that you deserve one.
What are you willing to do for it?
I won't tell anyone you voted for Kanye.
One for you.
The Last Chance Party is
my favorite event. You know,
it's the last time you're
gonna see everyone till fall,
so it's just bro after bro
swinging for the fences.
Like, last year, this
guy invited me to Mykonos.
Literally no idea who he was.
Great trip, though.
- Wow.
- Mm.
Whoa. You okay?
No.
Grace and I broke up.
What?
Oof, first casualty of the summer.
- Bruh.
- Oh. Uh, I I mean,
I'm sorry, bud.
Did she at least give you a reason?
That's the crazy part.
She said it was because
Annika and I are too close.
Yeah, that that tracks.
Yeah.
- Yeah.
- What?
Annika and I are just good friends.
- Good friends.
- Yeah.
Mm-hmm. Who text nonstop every day
- and also all night.
- Yeah.
Yeah, like, have you seen
the two of you together?
It's like everyone else
in the room doesn't exist.
It's actually really cute.
Guys, it is not like that.
We are friends. And
besides, she has a man.
And I like Kwame, who is also my friend.
I like it. You know, get close to him,
gain his trust, and then
stab him in the back.
Who da Brutus? You da Brutus.
Oh, my God. I would never.
I mean, you also said you
would never go to a naked party
or do shrooms, but somehow this
is the line you won't cross?
Y'all know me, and that is
not something I would ever do.
Okay.
So, getting dumped wasn't the
perfect end to the semester,
but, hey, maybe I'll get
into pottery or poetry
or, I don't know,
whatever people get into
at the start of their Sad Boy Summers.
Andre, we heard about the breakup.
Yeah, man. Bring it in.
Really appreciate it, man.
Aww. Look at you two.
My BF and my BFF.
Well, I got some good news.
I didn't want to say anything
until I knew you were okay,
but I got into Influencer Island.
Oh, my God. That's amazing!
I have no idea what that is.
It's basically a bunch of influencers
living in a house in Chicago
while they put out content.
- Got it. Okay.
- But it is amazing.
Yeah, and the best part about it
is that me and Kwame get to
spend the summer together.
Really? You two? All summer?
Yeah. Remember? I have
that internship in Chicago.
So we thought we'd drive out together.
Strategic.
Mm-hmm. And we're gonna take Route 66
and see the Grand Canyon.
- Nice.
- You have to come visit us.
We're gonna have the best summer.
I'll see you at the
party, though, right?
Of course. Wouldn't
miss it for the world.
- Okay.
- All right, y'all.
You two have fun.
Be strong.
Wow.
I am happy for them.
You know, two of my friends
getting to spend a
magical summer together,
one, a great guy
who I'm inviting to my
Fantasy Football league,
and the other, a gorgeous, stunning,
effervescent dream girl
who's about to have a summer of sex
with someone who isn't me.
Grace was right.
I am crushing on Annika.
Yo.
I got news.
Finally got invited to the cookout?
No.
I still think that I
have feelings for Annika.
That's not news.
Why you worked up now?
Because now she's headed off
to get freaking Route 66'd
by Kwame all summer long.
Don't get me wrong. Kwame is my guy.
Look, bro, Kwame is really
just some guy in the way.
And if he spends the summer
with Annika, you're done.
I mean, he becomes her college boyfriend
and not just some dude
she dated her first year.
I know, I know, but I just
I don't want to be a bad guy.
I mean, you know where
nice guys finish, so
And if you're looking
for some kind of sign
Huh. Yeah, that is pretty clear.
Yeah. Really is.
Okay, Zo-Zo, you're ready.
I really am.
All I had to do was cash in every favor,
chip, marker I have ever accumulated.
But I did land a meeting
with an angel investor
who's like one chair away
from being on "Shark Tank."
They're in the business
of making dreams come true.
What is Anti-Muse?
Anti-Muse is the story of my life
told through fashion,
style, and culture.
It's not "who are you wearing,"
it's "what are you saying?"
And as you can see, if
sales increase as projected,
then we predict financial stability
in just two years and
profitability in three years.
But this isn't just about my dream.
It's about kicking the door wide open
for so many people
that are just like me.
And your funding of Anti-Muse
means keeping hundreds of workers
and international artisans employed
in fair, well-paying jobs.
Because we're not just
trying to change a culture,
we want to change an industry.
Well done.
Thank you.
Very inspiring.
I'm just so happy that
you see the vision.
I really do.
But unfortunately, Zoey,
we're not in the position
to make this kind of
financial commitment right now.
Sorry, love.
