Our Sons and Daughters

1 Previously on "Heartland" Mackenzie! I love you! I will marry you wherever and whenever you want.
I now pronounce you husband and wife.
- Where you off to? - My place.
Yeah.
He's got a really cool record collection, so we're just gonna go study there.
I thought you and I were gonna do something later, my shift's almost over.
Yeah.
Well, we'll just hangout after? Yeah, okay.
Sure.
Hi, uh I'm Wyatt, and I've never done this before.
But this is for someone special out there.
I like you, I like you Even when I don't try to Yes I do That's the truth I like you (HOOVES THUD, TACK JINGLES) (HOOVES CLOMP) (HORSE SNORTS) - GRAYSON: No! no! - MACKENZIE: Okay.
Okay.
- Do you want your game console? - No! Go back home! (KNOCKS) IAN: We're just here for a little while, okay? - GRAYSON: No! No! - Hi.
Oh my gosh! - Hi.
Mackenzie! - Hello.
It's been forever.
I hope this isn't a bad time.
No, no, no, it's fine.
Sorry, you remember Ian.
- Hey - Hi, hi Amy.
And that's um, our son Grayson.
Um, I just wanted to make sure you had everything you need, I We do.
It's um I-I can't believe.
It is so good to be back.
I can't believe it's been nine years since Ian and I walked down the dock to get married.
I know, I'm so glad you decided to vacation here.
We're having a dinner tonight at the house I don't know if you guys have plans or not, but we'd love to have you over.
Thank you, that's really nice, I think we're all a little exhausted tonight.
Yeah.
Yeah, of course, that's fine, - maybe, maybe later in the week.
- Absolutely, yes, please.
I cannot wait to catch up with you, with all of you.
- Yeah? - Um, I should Yeah, I just wanted to make sure that - you had everything you need.
- We do.
- Thank you, thank you.
- Okay.
- Okay.
- Okay.
- What are you doing? - I'm trying to find his iPad.
- Did he say he wanted it? - No! So this is an actual museum? Yes, the Torrington Gopher Hole Museum.
- It's so weird.
- Yeah, I don't get it.
What's the point of dressing up stuffed gophers and dropping them into anthropomorphic settings? The point is that there is no point.
Look, come on.
Okay, look at this.
Gophers making a snowman, gophers robbing a bank, you can't see this anywhere else.
- We have to go sometime.
- No thanks.
Dude, seeing it online is enough for me.
I've gotta go, I promised Olivia I'd hangout with her.
You're killing me, Adam.
Come on.
Wasting your life.
What about you? What are you doing tomorrow? Nothing.
Why? You wanna go on a little road trip? (READING) "Feel free to give me a thank you call anytime after you get this.
All my love, Aunt Evelyn.
" Wow, it is something.
Yeah, that's something all right Yeah.
She um she heard we officially moved in together, and wanted to get us something special.
Apparently, this is painted by Lisa's favourite artist.
Now, I don't know too much about this sort of thing, But I do know my wife has good taste, so well, if she loves this artist, I should probably hang it up somewhere.
Daddy, you have to take me to dance class.
Yes, I know, sweetheart, I'm ready when you are.
But first you have to do my hair.
Okay, I'll be right there.
(SIGHS) Um, can you? - Yeah.
- Yeah? (SIGHS) Mommy does French braids.
Well, Daddy does it like this.
Hey, can I go on a road trip with Wyatt tomorrow? - What? - You're doing it all wrong! Just hold still, honey, please.
It's just in Torrington, it's not far.
Mommy does it way better.
(CHUCKLE) I'm sure she does.
Do I know a Wyatt? I'm not going to dance class dressed like this! Yes, you are, sweetheart.
You look great.
Okay? It's perfect.
We'll talk about this later.
Don't (KATIE GROANS) (SIGHS) Oh! FIGHTER PILOT 1: Now there is the target! FIGHTER PILOT 2: Straight ahead, Skip! FIGHTER PILOT 1: Watch ahead, okay? Hi, Grayson.
(FIGHTER JETS ROAR) Wow, I like your plane.
It's a model of a P-47 Thunderbolt.
It was the Allies best fighter.
Good in a dogfight.
Even better for a ground attack.
Huh, did your parents get you that? It's armed with eight .
50 caliber machine guns, and it can carry five-inch rockets, or a bomb load of 2,500 pounds.
Well, that's pretty cool.
That's Chance, do you wanna go see him? He's a really nice horse.
He loves kids.
(CHANCE BREATHES HEAVILY) (TACK JINGLES) (CHANCE SNORTS, AMY GIGGLES) No, no, no! Dangerous.
That is dangerous! - No, no! - Come on, come on, come on! - Sorry.
- No! No! no! It-it's okay, Mackenzie, he's really gentle.
I'm sure the horse is fine, Amy, but you don't understand.
I'm sorry, it's been a long day! - No! Noooo! Aaaah! - Come on, I got you.
Noooo! Noooo! (GRAYSON SCREAMING AND CRYING) S11E07 Our Sons and Daughters And at the break of day You sank into your dream You dreamer Oh oh oh oh You dreamer You dreamer Katie could've done a better job painting that.
You know, maybe it would look better in the hallway, or your bedroom, somewhere less visible? - It hurts my eyeballs.
- All right, you two.
That painting happens to be painted by my wife's favourite artist, not to mention the fact that it's a gift from her aunt, so we're all gonna give it a chance.
Is that clear? - (PETER SIGHS) - Where's Katie? She's won't leave her room.
Apparently all the girls made fun of her hair at dance class.
And of course it's completely my fault.
I'm basically just ruining her life now.
Oh, and she won't eat dinner because she hates fried chicken.
That doesn't sound like Katie.
Yep, well, her mom took her out for some sushi in New York, and now that's all she wants to eat.
Did you get a chance to think about that road trip? Uh, yes.
Yes, I did.
And yes, you can go.
- But I wanna meet Wyatt first.
- Uh, Dad - What? What's the problem? - Mmm If you're too embarrassed to introduce me to him, then you can't go.
Okay? It's not up for discussion.
(SIGHS) (SCOFFS) Wow! Jack, is that uh is that the spot for it? That is also not up for discussion.
(LYNDY GIGGLES) JEN: Oh, you would not believe how hard it is to find rice flour in Hudson! Luckily Casey had some in her pantry, so crisis averted.
Can you take that please? Sure.
I have never even made gluten free pancakes.
But I'm thinking, I'm hoping, that I found a good recipe, but who knows, it could all be a huge disaster.
And in that case I will just serve them with mimosas, 'cause everything tastes better when you're a little drunk, right? I'm Jen, Lou's new Dude Ranch slash Maggie's manager.
And you are Peter.
I have seen the good looking family photos.
And I feel like already know you.
Katie and my son Brick have become pretty good friends.
Right.
And Georgie and Wyatt.
Yes! How do you feel about this whole road trip thing? I was thinking at first that you know, I wasn't sure, but they're both really good kids, - so I'm thinking it'll be okay.
- Yeah, yeah.
Yeah.
Okay, great, I'm just going to leave all this here, and I will be back first thing in the morning to make gluten free magic! Or cardboard.
Later! (DOOR SHUTS) I don't like it here anymore.
No, I don't wanna be with my Daddy.
Why can't I come with you to New York? I know.
Love you Mommy, bye.
(PHONE BEEPS OFF) (BLANKETS RUSTLE) (HAY FLAKES THUD) - Hey.
- Hi.
You're up early for someone on vacation.
Well, it was a beautiful morning, I thought I'd go for a stroll.
- Is this Lyndy? - Yes, it is.
Wow, look at her.
Isn't she a beauty.
I remember when Grayson was that small it seems just like yesterday.
They grow up really fast.
(SMALL LAUGHS) Listen, I'm sorry about yesterday.
Oh, that's okay.
Traveling can be hard on kids, I get it.
Well, especially kids like Grayson.
You know, routine is very important to him.
Any small change in his daily schedule, and he really gets thrown off.
Kids like Grayson? What do you mean? Ah.
Mack didn't tell you.
Um Well, When Grayson was three years old, he was diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
You know, we knew something was going on with him before that, but it was just good to have a name for it.
- I'm sorry, Ian, I - No, no, no.
It's okay.
It's okay, I don't wanna make it sound like it's worse than it is.
When he was diagnosed, we didn't know if he was ever gonna be able to speak, or be potty trained, and he's learned to do both.
And he's really very smart, especially when it comes to airplanes.
But um you know, he has a hard time connecting with other people.
And we've been working on that a lot with his doctors, and his therapists, but it's really hard.
If there's anything I can do, let me know.
Actually, there is something you can do.
I'd like to ask you a really big favour - Who's that? - I don't know.
Hey, I'm Katie.
This is Brick.
FIGHTER PILOT: I'm goin' into battle! Pull up! (PLANES ROAR) You wanna throw rocks in the pond with us? FIGHTER PILOT: Steady! Steady! (JET ROARS, FIGHTER JET PILOT CHATTER CONTINUES) - Fine.
- Let's go! What are you gonna say to Wyatt? I don't know, I thought I'd just invite him in for a cup of tea, and show him some old family albums.
Dad! Hey, it's okay if I friend him on Facebook, right? It that cool? 'Cause I Calm down, I just wanna meet him, that's all.
I didn't know Adam was coming.
Neither did I.
(MUSTANG ENGINE RUMBLES) (REMI BARKS IN THE DISTANCE) - Hey.
- Hey.
- Adam, how are you? - Good.
- Whew! - There you go.
- You must be Wyatt.
- Yes, hi.
I'm Georgie's dad.
Hi.
Nice to meet you.
That's a good solid grip you've got there, Mr.
Morris.
- Uh huh.
- Mhmm.
- Have her home by ten, okay? - Okay.
Yeah.
Ten.
Okay, before ten, like way before, so - Sounds good.
- Hours before.
- All right.
- Okay.
(GEORGIE SIGHS) (CAR DOOR SLAMS) - She is a beaut.
- Yeah.
- Bye, Dad.
- All right.
- Have fun.
- Thank you so much.
- Nice to meet you.
- You too.
I thought you weren't interested in the Gopher Museum.
I'm not.
But Wyatt showed up at my house this morning and wouldn't leave until I got in the car.
Yeah, I'm doing you a favour, this is probably going to be the best day of your life.
Doubtful.
You do the thing I told you to do? Oh yeah yeah.
As instructed, I compiled a playlist of songs suitable to a road trip.
I considered our various tastes in music, but also focused on themes of summer and youth.
Okay, good.
You wanna play it? Yeah! (CAR STARTS, ENGINE REVS) I just can't explain the way I feel Something in the air She is beautiful, Can I hold her? - Yeah, of course.
- Baby! One, two, three.
Ohhh! I had a nice chat with Ian this morning.
He mentioned riding lessons for Grayson.
Of course he did.
He said you might not be in favour of them, but was hoping that maybe I could change your mind? Yeah, I don't agree with Ian's opinion that horses are going to magically solve all of our son's problems! No, I don't think they're gonna magically fix them either.
But I've seen kids with special needs benefit from connecting with horses in ways that are hard to understand.
And sometimes that leads to connecting with people.
At the very least, Grayson might have fun.
I would do anything to help my son, as long as it doesn't jeopardize his safety.
If he has a temper tantrum on that horse, he could get seriously hurt.
I'm sorry, the answer is no.
I understand.
- How about you? - What about me? Well, when's the last time you were on a horse? Yeah, I I mean, it's been, a Not for since at least before Grayson.
I think it's high time you were to get back on.
And I'm not taking no for an answer.
(MACKENZIE CHUCKLES) Hey, have you seen Katie? Uh yeah, she's at the barn with Brick.
They asked if they could ride their horses over to the dude ranch to see Mitch, and I said yes, I hope that's okay? Yeah, yeah.
It's fine, she rides out there all the time.
She left her sushi on the table, so I just threw it in the fridge.
Oh.
Yeah Oh no, no, it didn't go bad, did it? No, no, it's just, she won't eat it.
Uh, her mom introduced her to sushi when they were in New York together.
She said she loved it, but, uh, she refuses to eat it.
So apparently I got the wrong kind.
Yes.
Kids and food, the eternal struggle.
Yeah, right.
I don't know if it's so much the food as it is she just misses her mom.
- You know? - Yeah.
I get that.
My um my husband used to make BLTs every Saturday.
Wyatt and Brick just loved them.
When, when Curtis got too sick to get out of bed, I was determined to continue that tradition but uh, it just wasn't really the same without him.
Phew.
(SNIFFLES, THEN CHUCKLES) Anyways, so I made a new tradition.
Every Sunday we make blueberry pancakes together.
And that's not to replace what he had with the boys, you know, it's their dad, that's irreplaceable.
But now, my boys love blueberry pancakes.
And that's a win.
Small win, but a win.
You're gonna eventually have a win with Katie, too.
You'll see.
- Well, that would be great.
- Just not with sushi.
(BOTH LAUGH) (HOOVES THUD) There's a tree down.
Come on.
Let's see if we can move it out of the way.
BRICK: let's just go around it.
(STRUGGLING GRUNTS) Come on! (PHEASANTS SCREECH) (STARTLED WHINNY) - Whoa! Wait! Stop! (PANICKED WHINNIES) Brick! (HORSE WHINNIES) Brick? BRICK: Whoa! Stop! Lis, I didn't hear you come in.
- How was your trip? - Good.
Good.
So, that's new.
Oh, you noticed.
That that is a gift from your Aunt Evelyn.
Yeah, she mentioned that you were a big fan of this artist, so I figured I'd go ahead and put it up.
Now the place has a little bit of your personality, instead of just mine.
Ah, I see, well, I don't know what to say.
That's just too much.
It was very generous of her.
- Yeah, it certainly is.
- (SIGHS) So, let's get you unpacked, I wanna hear all about your trip! Thank you.
Plastic ball? Good Lord.
Katie? (HORSE SNORTS) Katie?! (HORSE SNORTS) There you are.
(HORSE WHINNIES) Whoa Come on.
(HORSE SNORTS) Katie? (BIRDS SQUAWK) (OWL HOOTS) Brick, where are you? Brick! (OWL HOOTS) One good shot for helping me out with this Hm, hm, hm Make it clear to the ones at home Hang a family portrait on the wall On the wall (CAR ENGINE TURNS OFF) (SIGHS) You've been pretty quiet since we left, is everything okay? Yeah, it's just it's a little hard to hear in the back.
Oh, well, you should sit up here for the rest of the trip.
You can take over Adam's DJ'ing duties.
Just take it easy on the death metal though.
Okay? 'Cause I know how much you like it.
Yo, Georgie called shotgun.
No, it's okay, Adam, you sit in the front.
(DOOR SLAMS) (ENGINE TURNS AND RUMBLES) (MUSIC PLAYS) IAN: I understand that, but it's about my influence.
So why do you think that I don't know - what's best for my own son? - I didn't say that! Okay, then why are you so against this? Because I know Grayson because I know that he's not ready.
You're the one who's not ready! What?! I'm not Hey, this isn't (DOOR SLAMS) Wow.
- Hey.
- Which one's my horse? This guy right here, Chance.
He was abandoned at a clinic I taught last year.
- Oh, poor guy! - Yeah.
He was a little messed up back then, but now he's the most gentle horse on our whole property.
- Yeah? - Yeah.
- Go easy on me, Chance.
- (LAUGHS) - It's been awhile.
- Okay.
Do you need a hand? You ready? Oh, you are.
(CAR RUMBLES) (MUSIC PLAYS, CAR SHUTS OFF) (DOORS SLAM) ADAM: Closed? - Okay, it's no big deal.
We'll just find a window or a door that's unlocked.
We're not breaking in.
Have you lost your mind? Yeah, that does seem a bit extreme.
I have a better idea.
It's not like we're going to steal anything.
We'll just let ourselves in, Take a couple pictures or whatever, and then dip.
How about we not do any of those things, and go home! I have an idea! We didn't come all this way to not see hilarious gopher dioramas, okay? So I don't know about you, but I'm going in.
I hope you like jail.
Nobody's going to jail, stop being so dramatic.
Okay wait, give me the keys, I need to get my bag out of the car.
Thank you.
I knew I should've stayed home.
This no-risk policy of yours is a one-way ticket to snooze-ville.
I'd rather live in snooze-ville than get stabbed with a toothbrush in jail.
That's stupid.
(CAR STARTS) (ENGINE ROARS) Where is she going? (BIRDS CALL, OWL HOOTS) (FOOTSTEP RUSTLE IN THE FOLIAGE) Brick! (BIRDS CAW) (DOOR SLAMS) The kids back yet? Well, the horses are still gone.
Something wrong? No, no.
I just um they're up at the dude ranch, I thought they might be back by now.
Well, they're probably hanging out with Mitch.
Yeah.
I'm gonna head up there I think, just check on 'em, make sure they're not overstaying their welcome.
(JACK CHUCKLES) Remember when you said this was gonna be the best day of my life? You were wrong.
Why isn't she answering? She's probably halfway back to Hudson by now.
(CAR RUMBLES) Hey, are you boys in need of some assistance? Okay, we get it.
We were being jerks.
Speak for yourself.
Fine.
I was being a jerk.
- Can we go home now please? - Get in.
Okay While you two were wandering around like lost puppies, I went to the diner up the street.
Did you bring any leftovers because I'm starving.
No, I didn't go there for food.
If you had just listened earlier, I would've explained everything.
I work in a diner in a small town.
Everyone knows everyone.
It's no different here.
I asked the waitress if she knew how we could get into the museum, and it turns out her husband is the maintenance guy.
So he's coming to let us in.
Are you serious? Does this mean we're not going home? Georgie, this road trip was in cardiac arrest and you just brought it back to life.
You're amazing, you know that? (CAR STARTS, RUMBLES) I just can't explain the way I feel Something in the air Something in the air Yeah! I can't tell you if it's a dream or if it's real I don't even care something in the air And I can see it in reverse slow motion We get high, get low and then we go again - Oh! - Ha ha! Yeah, I can see it in the moment captured We get high, get low, we get high, get low, Everybody feels it, everybody feels it Oooh oohh oohh oh Everybody feels it, everybody feels it, Yeaaaah Ooooh Wyatt! (CHUCKLES) Okay! (CAR RUMBLES) Wow, it's a real conversation piece, isn't it? Yes, it certainly is.
There used to be this elephant at the Calgary Zoo who painted with her trunk, and that kinda reminds me of it.
Although she was much more talented.
- Thank you.
- (LAUGHS) - Hey Lis, how's Lyndy doing? - She's great, fast asleep.
- That's good.
- Hey, so uh there's no sign of the kids at the dude ranch.
And Mitch is not in his trailer.
Well, that's strange, I mean, they left over an hour ago.
Well, I'll give Mitch a call.
PETER: Thanks.
Yeah, Mitch, are those kids still over there? Well, where are you? Oh, I see.
Ah no, no.
No.
It's no problem.
All right.
(BEEPS PHONE OFF) Well, he's been in Calgary all day.
Well, why wouldn't they have come home if he wasn't there? Well, I'm sure they're just out having fun.
Yeah, yeah, probably.
Is it okay if I saddle up a horse and take a look though? - Just to be safe? - I'll come with you.
- Thank you.
- Yeah.
(SIGHS) MACKENZIE: I've gotta say, this is the most relaxed I've been in I don't know how long.
You were right, Chance is a great horse.
He would be perfect for Grayson.
If you decided to go forward with the riding lessons.
Is that why you tried to convince me to come for a ride? You thought if I got to know Chance, I'd be more Just part of the reason.
I don't know what Ian told you about Grayson, but he's a good boy.
All of his therapists and doctors say he's doing really well.
And how about you? Me? I'm fine I heard you and Ian arguing I know it's none of my business, - I'm sorry I shouldn't - No, no, it's okay.
Since Grayson was born all of our energy goes into making sure he has everything he needs.
It's not a once a day thing, It's a-it's every day, it's every minute, it's every hour, and it doesn't leave a lot of time for a marriage.
Yeah.
- BRICK: Amy! - Hey, Brick? What are you doing out here? Is everything okay? I lost Katie.
What happened to Brick? He's with Mackenzie, they're headed back to the barn.
Any sign of Katie? No, Brick said this is where he last saw her.
This is where the horses spooked.
That's Katie's helmet! - Well, we better split up.
- Yeah.
Katie! You ride over that way.
(CAR RUMBLES) GEORGIE: I'll be right back.
(CUSTOMERS CHATTER) I hate to be obvious, but you like her.
What? I know the idea of liking someone is pretty subjective, but you're demonstrating all of the typical signs.
Dude, we're not having this conversation.
Why? Because I used to date Georgie? - Yeah.
- We live in a small town.
I've done the math, the chances that we'll end up dating the same girls are one in five.
Now that doesn't sound like much, but statistically it's actually quite significant.
Okay, so why are telling me this? Because if you don't get out of the car and talk to her, then you are dumber than you look.
(SIGHS) (DOOR SLAMS) Georgie, hey I just wanted to say that I'm having a great time.
Me too.
I mean, although this isn't exactly what I had in mind.
What do you mean? Well, I just thought it was gonna be you and me.
But clearly that's not what you were thinking.
No, no.
That's exactly what I had in mind.
Then why did you invite Adam? Um I don't know.
I-I panicked.
I didn't want you to feel like there was any pressure on this to be like a date.
So did you want it to be a date, or - (PHONE RINGS) - Sorry It's my mom.
Hey Uh, I don't know.
Like an hour away, I think.
What? Okay.
Yeah, okay, I'll tell her.
Okay, bye.
- What? What's wrong? - We have to go home.
(WOODPECKER PECKS) (OWL HOOTS) (BIRD CAWS) Katie! (TACK JINGLES) (HOOVES THUD) Katie! JACK: Katie! Katie! (HOOVES RUSTLE IN THE FOLIAGE) I hate the thought of Katie being out here alone.
AMY: Hey.
- Hey, I'm here to help.
(BIRDS CHIRP) (FOOTSTEPS CLANK ON THE BOARDS) Hey Grayson, hang out here for a second, okay? I'll be right back.
I love you.
(SIGHS) Are you worried about Katie? No.
Amy said she'd call.
It's funny to think we got married standing right here.
Yeah.
I was just thinking the same thing.
You know, I'll never forget how you dressed up in that armour, and you rode up to the house to sweep me off my feet.
It's like different people were living their lives back then.
Those people have disappeared.
And it's been replaced by tired, worn-out parents that run from one doctor's appointment to the next.
(SIGHS) Maybe while we're here we could try to remember who those people are.
That we're a couple who love each other.
I love you.
I love you too.
Where's Grayson? - Grayson! - Grayson! - (GASPS) - Wait.
Wait.
Wait.
Wait.
Wait.
- But he's about to - It's okay.
(CHANCE SNORTS) Good boy, Chance.
You're such a good boy.
(OWL HOOTS) (WOODPECKER PECKS) (HOOVES THUD) (SOBS QUIETLY) (HORSE SNORTS) - (SHOUTS) Katie? - (HAPPY GASP) - Daddy! - Hey.
Daddy! - Daddy! - Oh my God! (RELIEVED SIGH) Oh my oh.
(SIGHS) Okay, Grayson.
You're ready to get on? You wanna get on the horse, bud? Come here.
Ready? - No! No! No! No! - Okay.
Okay.
Come here.
Here, here.
Look at me.
You know when you're up in an airplane, way up above everything, and you feel calm and happy? That's what it feels like to be on a horse.
It feels like you're flying.
Now, do you want to give it a try? Yes or no? Yes.
Okay.
Okay.
Ready, bud? Here we go.
(CHANCE SNORTS CALMLY) That's it.
Okay.
What now? I want you two to go on either side of him.
Just support him as we walk.
You ready, Grayson, we're just gonna take this nice and slow.
(CLUCKS TONGUE) (CHANCE SNORTS) (CHANCE SNORTS) There.
Do you wanna keep going? Yes.
(MACKENZIE CHUCKLES) Okay that thing is coming down, right now! What? It doesn't go with anything in here! And I cannot stand it! But your Aunt said that was your favourite artist.
I don't care what she said.
She is wrong and clearly confused.
Then why didn't you say anything? Because I can tell how much you're trying to make me feel at home here.
Well, it is your home as much as it is mine.
Yeah.
Yeah, I know, and I don't need a painting to prove it.
And certainly not one covered in garbage.
Yeah.
Yeah, I'd rather look at bacon grease splattered on the back of a stove.
You and me both.
All right, you know what? Why don't we go into town to a gallery, and the two us will pick out something that we love.
I would like that very much.
And we'll take that to the thrift store on the way by.
No.
No.
This has to go back into storage.
Why? Because when Aunt Evelyn comes back for a visit, it's going back up on the wall.
- Mhmm.
- Mhmm.
(LAUGHS) (COMPUTER CHIMES) Look who it is, Lyndy.
- Hi, Daddy! - Hey, Lyndy.
Are you ready for your first BBQ? Oh she is, she even got a nice new outfit.
Looking good, Lyndy.
Looking good.
(LAUGHS) Only one more sleep until you're home.
Yeah, and it can't come soon enough.
- I love you, girls.
- We love you too Bye.
Bye, daddy.
(CHUCKLES) Bye, daddy.
FIGHTER PILOT: Well, there's the target (JET ENGINE ROARS) straight ahead, Skip.
Watch the head, guys.
- Jack! - Whoa! - Ohhh! - Look at you.
Was it really nine years ago that I walked you down the aisle? Should I say pier.
(ALL LAUGH) Yeah.
Yeah, it was.
- A lot has changed since then.
- Yeah, I guess so.
You just can't let it be nine years before you visit again.
- Okay.
- We'll do our best.
Yeah.
Definitely.
Can I have another hot dog, please? Well, yes you can.
And I'm very happy that you like hot dogs again.
- Thank you, Daddy.
- You're welcome, honey.
- You too, buddy.
- Thank you.
See, told you.
That was a win, my friend.
(BOTH CHUCKLE) So Jack tells me that you and Wyatt went on a bit of a road trip? Not just Wyatt.
Adam came too.
Oh yeah, but uh you and Wyatt are hanging out a little bit together? I guess.
You know he's down at the BBQ, don't you wanna go say hi? No.
Not really.
Did he do something to upset you? He's just so confusing.
Like, one minute he dedicates a song to me, and the next he's pretending I don't exist.
Uh-huh.
Sounds like he's maybe scared of you.
What? Well, you're an intelligent, confident, young woman, who knows what she wants.
And he's probably just trying to catch up to you.
Well, what do I do? I would take these steaks down to the dude ranch, and just stop avoiding him.
Does this ever get any easier? No ma'am, it certainly doesn't.
(SIGHS) Hey Oh, sorry, it's JACK: Georgie, are those the steaks? (SIGHS) Let's see here.

Yeah, of course.
You can't get me! You can't catch me! Hey.
Hey! (PLAYFUL LAUGHTER) - Come get me! - (HAPPY EXHALE) But it can't just be a coincidence though, can it? Does it really matter? No What you believe What you believe It's all that you need It'll carry you I see it in you (ROCK SPLASHES) I was wondering where you disappeared to.
- (SIGHS) - So Adam.
He's a pretty cool guy.
You came here to tell me that? No uh, no, well kind of.
I came to tell you that I think that Adam is a cool guy but I wish I hadn't invited him on the road trip with us.
Why? Because then there wasn't a right time to do this.
