[epic choral music playing]
[narrator] The True Demon King has died.
The enemy of the world
was defeated by somebody.
But even now, the powers left behind
writhe in multitude.
They cannot be subdued
by ordinary strength.
A hundred shura-like demons…
The world's largest city, Aureatia,
proceeds with the selection of a Hero,
while the leader
of the New Principality of Lithia,
Taren the Guarded, seeks new order,
and governs through fear.
[theme music playing]
ISHURA
Episode 10 "Vanishing Calamity"
[wind gusting]
New Principality of Lithia
- [loud thumping]
- [tense music playing]
[crashing]
[chuckling]
[chuckling continues]
[Mage City soldiers panting]
- This one's for Mage City!
- [whimpers, groans]
[grunts]
Oh, no.
Mage City was our city,
and you burnt it down.
- Die!
- [squelches]
[dark choral music playing]
[Kia pants]
Professor, the fire
has spread this way too.
[Elea] Is this fire the result
of Mage City soldiers running riot?
Or was somebody else responsible?
- [Kia] Professor!
- [gasps]
[fire crackling]
[surprised grunt]
Look, women.
They must be Lithia women.
Stop already, they're not soldiers.
Who cares!
[worried gasp]
Lithia destroyed our city.
They're just as guilty!
[Elea]
Mage City soldiers are on Aureatia's side.
Getting rid of them would require
a certain level of justification.

Let me speak with them first.

[Mage City soldiers] Huh?

[soldier over radio] The wyvern squad
has already been destroyed!
- They've broken through all defense lines.

and we have no way of extinguishing it.
- [rumbling]
- In addition, invading Mage City soldiers
are massacring

Just like the things I saw in Nagan,
there's a core
keeping this tarantula thing alive.

[rumbling]
I need to kill what's inside this thing.
So then,
what's the plan?
[heavy stomping]

[intense music playing]

You fight well, swordsman.

- [soft gasp]

[soldier groans]

[Nihilo] Heat and impact attacks
have no effect on Helneten.

that would be enough to defeat me?
- [intense music playing]

[Dakai] This isn't good.
I lured that thing
into the water deliberately.
I thought the gaps of the armor
might start to bubble open
once the air heated up.
But it's completely airtight.
Isn't there a single airhole?
How does whatever's inside stay alive?
Suffocation is not an option.
Submersion is pointless.
The blade of my enchanted sword

[laughs]
Look at this. For the first time,

[shocked gasp]

So I thought if that's the case,
maybe it can be destroyed
by bursting the nerves,
with the poison of a mandrake.
[narrator]
Dakai had stolen one of the poison blades
that Higuare would hide inside his body.
His unworldly observational power
is even capable of spotting
the flow of nerves.
Through this observation, he had confirmed
where to induce malfunction
and which part of the brain to target
with the poison that acts on nerves
in order to unlock the hatch.
The cut made by Soujirou the Willow-Sword
turned out to be a keyhole
for Dakai the Magpie.
[Nihilo chuckles]
[Nihilo] You really do like to chat,
don't you?
[Dakai]
Aren't my conversations interesting?
[sighs]
Perhaps they are…
[tense music playing]
[music intensifies]
- [sword scrapes]
- [music fades]
[squelching]
[buzzes]
[rumbling]
[Lana breathing heavily]
[gulps, grunts]

[breathes shakily]
Was that the power of the World Word?
[pants]

[Lana gasping]

[Lana] They were strong too.
We had to overcome them to save Aureatia.
Yet they were killed so easily…
[Lana breathing heavily, shakily]
[Lana grunts]
[sniffles, breathing shakily]
Monsters that trample over others
like trash shouldn't be allowed to exist.
[Lana gasps softly]
- [Elea] Lana, what are you doing?
- [gasps]
Elea. Kia.
[fire crackling]
This is too awful.
The place is full of monsters.
[residents screaming, clamoring]
I'll destroy it all!
- Lana!
- [gasps]
This city and the rest of you in it!
I should just blow it all away
with the Cold Star!
[Lana] Somebody…
[shouts]
Somebody has to or it will never end!
Lana!
[gasps]
[chiming]
[zapping]
Stop!
[zapping stops]
[both gasp]
Disperse.
[chimes]
[terrified gasping]
[Cold Star clatters]
Calm down, Lana.
[Kia] You're probably so scared
that you can't think straight.
You're not acting like the Lana I know.
Isn't that right?
[terrified gasp]
- [fire crackling]
- [Kia] All this horror is the reason.
Professor.
You said my power was meant
to make people happy, didn't you?
[gasps]
Kia, stop!
You mustn't reveal your power!
[gentle music playing]
Vanish.
[fire blazing]
[uplifting music playing]
[shocked gasp]
- Lana…
- [gasps]
…there's nothing to be afraid of now.
W-Who…
[Lana] Who are you two?
[Elea] Lana.
Let's go home.
[terrified gasping]
[Lana whispers]
Do you…
Do you plan to kill me?
[breathes shakily]
Please don't. I beg you.
[Lana] Kia is watching.
Lana, um…
[Kia] The truth is,
I'm capable of anything.
I'm sorry for keeping it a secret.
I'm sorry for not being able
to save your city sooner.
Though she may be a monster,
you want to be
a kind and beautiful professor, don't you?
[Lana] Please.
[melancholy music playing]
[Elea] Lana.
There's no way
this professor would do anything
to hurt you.
