Light as a Feather (2018) s01e10 Episode Script

Slippery as an Eel

Previously on Light As A Feather The game, it gets passed on from one person to the next like a curse.
Five people play, only one survives to play again.
- Aah! - Aah! Damn it, why can't I read you? - Jennie.
- What do you want? We have to play Light as a Feather again.
If we knew how she's supposed to die, we'd have something on her.
We could get her to talk.
Lena said she watched them play Light as a Feather.
Then Lena heard how Violet's supposed to die.
Violet Simmons Did you save anything from the journal? Check this out.
I don't trust you, but if there is one thing that you, me, and Alex have in common it's that none of us want to die.
What do we do now? We're gonna help each other.
So what's your plan? You gonna tie me up again? That depends.
So maybe you could answer some questions for me now.
I can try.
Am I gonna die? You mean, like, ever? You know what I mean.
I was the only one that night who played the game whose death wasn't predicted.
So what does that mean? Am I safe? No, it It just means that I didn't see it.
There's still a timer on you, like me and Alex.
The only difference is, I know how we're supposed to die.
So that's why you wanted to play the game with me again.
You wanted to see my death.
Yeah.
And I actually did try again the night that you stayed over.
- When I was asleep? - Obviously, it didn't work, and every time I tried, she was there, protecting you.
She Oh, my God.
Jennie.
She's been trying to to tell me something.
What? Trey read something from the journal that's starting to make a lot more sense now.
What part? I've gone over that thing, like, a thousand times.
It says, "This game came from darkness, so maybe" "It can go back there someday.
" Darkness that that must mean death.
So maybe this curse is from some other world, and it's it's, like, feeding off of our souls, and Jennie's trying to help us lift it.
You can't possibly know that.
You're right.
But I think I know a way we can find out.
What are you saying? Looks like you're gonna get your wish after all, Violet.
We're gonna play Light as a Feather again.
Are you kidding? This is exactly what Violet wants.
Trey's right.
We can't trust her.
We have to give it a shot.
Jennie's been trying to reach me ever since we played the game that night.
Recreating it is the best way I can think of to contact her.
No, you don't even know if it's gonna work.
Yeah, you're right, I don't, but have you guys thought of a better idea? We can't call the cops.
The journal's gone.
Thanks to Henry.
Has anybody heard from him, by the way? No.
I mean, I figured he'd call once he was done at the Regans'.
Guys Henry has Violet's prediction.
Hey, this is Henry.
You know the drill.
Hey.
Um, it's me.
Just call me back.
What happened? Someone needs to go find him.
I haven't driven since the accident.
Yeah, well, now might be a good time to start.
No.
I'm not gonna leave you guys alone with that lunatic.
No, we're not alone if it's the two of us.
Look, I really need you to do this.
And even if you stay, you know you can't be a part of this game.
Fine, but you have to let me know what's going on.
You have to keep in contact, okay? Okay, I promise.
Now go find Henry.
Hey, stop looking so worried.
We're gonna beat this, okay? I hope you're right.
I am, especially now that I have extra motivation.
Yeah, what's that? You really have to ask? Go.
I'll probably regret asking this question, but where are we going? Violet has an idea.
Oh, great.
Okay, if we're gonna play again, we need to make sure that we match the original as close as possible.
And since we don't have Don't say their names.
Okay, but we need something of them represented, like a personal item.
Like like a purse or a piece of clothing.
Great, let's just show up at the Richmonds' and say, "Hey, you mind if we raid your dead kid's closet?" Actually, I still have Livvy's bracelet.
We just need something of Candace's.
You have any ideas? Fine.
Ms.
Preston's been staying with her sister since Candace died, but I know where they hide their key.
Great.
We'll go there.
I swear, this shit better work.
Hey.
This is Henry.
You know the drill.
Richmond, it's Trey.
I'm outside the Regans'.
Where are you? Candace.
Her election speech.
She's still not responding? Will you let me know if anything changes? Okay, I'll be there as soon as I can.
Your grandma? What happened? She's in a coma.
She's gonna die.
I can feel it.
I'm not asking for your pity.
Yeah, that's probably a good instinct.
But you have to understand, I was forced into this, too, and it never ends the pressure, the constant fear that people I love are going to die, and this thing on my back, growing and rotting me from the inside.
I'm not a bad person, really.
I just didn't have a choice.
Okay, let's do this before I change my mind.
Hey, it's Mack.
Leave a message.
Where the hell are you? I called you three times.
I'm still at the Regans'.
I think something really bad might have happened to Henry.
Just call me back.
This place still gives me the creeps.
You guys have been here before? Yeah, it was a while ago.
Believe me, I don't want to be here, either.
But if my hunch is right this is exactly where we should be.
No, I'm sorry, I can't do this.
Hey, Alex, stop, stop.
Please.
Listen, we both lost Jennie that night.
And I know that you loved her so much.
But it wasn't anyone's fault.
It just It just happened.
But she's with us now, and she wants to make sure that we stay alive.
How is she gonna do that? She's gonna play with us.
Are you ready? Yeah, just start it like you did last time.
"McKenna Brady was a girl.
" McKenna Brady was a girl Mrs.
Brady.
Hi, Trey.
You haven't spoken to McKenna, have you? She said she was gonna sleep over at Alex's last night, - but then she didn't - I think she's in trouble.
Oh, my God.
What's going on I don't know, but that's why I need your help.
You can still track her phone, right? Say I shared everything with my sister.
Say it.
McKenna and Jennie Brady shared everything.
A birthday a face, and even a soul.
They also shared a heart defect, a condition that claimed one sister's life and left the other behind.
McKenna tried to get over the tragedy, but something was holding her back.
And then And then And then With her soul on the other side, half of her living and half of her dead, McKenna was always walking a line.
Jennie.
Always on the verge of death, always fighting to stay alive.
Can you help us? And then one day, McKenna lost her balance and fell into the darkness.
Oh, my God.
I can see it! I can finally see it! What? Her death.
McKenna Brady could no longer live without her sister, Jennie.
She was so drawn to her in the darkness, she followed her there.
- She wanted to be with Jennie so bad, she stayed with her.
- Aah! - Aah! Hey, you're almost there.
It's okay.
And then what? With her soul on the other side, soon McKenna's body would cease to function.
Wait! What are you doing? Normally, a comatose body could take years to shut down, but because of McKenna's faulty heart, she only had minutes.
Stop saying that! You're gonna kill her! I have a life here.
But I'm just so tired of feeling like half of me is gone.
No.
And then there was only one thing left to do, to put her body out of its misery, - snuff it out.
- What? - To finally draw - Stop! Don't! That last bit of oxygen from her lungs.
- No! - Light as a feather, stiff as a board.
Light as a feather, stiff as a board.
- Light as a feather, stiff as a board.
- McKenna, please! Light as a feather, stiff as a board.
Light as a feather, stiff as a board.
Light as a feather, stiff as a board.
It's almost gone.
McKenna, wake up! Light as a feather, stiff as a board.
Sorry, Mack.
What can I say? Old habits die hard.
Yes, the Willow Falls Mausoleum on Thurber Road.
Violet Simmons she's completely crazy, and I think she has my friends.
Come now! - You still getting a signal? - Hey! In here! Yeah, it's still this way.
Help! I'm in here! - Let me out! - It's Alex! Oh, my God.
- Are you okay? - Yeah, I think.
Wait! Where is McKenna? I don't know.
Over here! - I think she's in here! - Oh, my God! Oh, my God! McKenna's not breathing! All right, c'mon, McKenna! No, no, no.
Please, no.
- Three! - McKenna, come on! What happened?! I don't know.
Everything happened really fast.
Mom, I saw Jennie.
What? I saw her.
She helped us.
She helped us? Jennie got the curse.
Permanently Yeah.
Violet can't hurt us anymore.
The game's over.
Where is she, anyway? I don't know.
It's okay.
Stop right there! Violet Simmons? Keep your hands where I can see them! Are you hurt? No.
Actually, I'm perfect.
- Oh, hi.
- Hi! So? Last exam of the semester.
- How'd it go? - Not bad.
I think I may have actually bullshitted my way to a B-minus.
Wow.
That's impressive.
Wow, this is the first winter break without Candace or Livvy.
Feels kind of weird.
Yeah.
Right now, Candace should be complaining about college essays, and Olivia should be packing for Aspen.
Yep.
It's gonna get better, right? Yeah, I think so.
It's gonna take some time.
You know, I know it sounds crazy, but I feel like they're together somehow, helping us.
- Right? - Yeah.
Hi.
Hey.
Two weeks off.
Thank God, right? - We still on for Noreen's tonight? - Mm-hmm.
Isaac might be coming if he feels up to it.
Yeah, I'm pretty excited to experience a party without the aid of pharmaceuticals.
McKenna? I just talked to his dad.
Still no word.
There's always hope.
I mean, for all we know, he could be somewhere out there.
- Yeah.
- Hopefully.
You guys want a ride? Yeah.
Sounds good.
Um, actually, I have someplace to be.
Oh.
Where are you going? Nowhere.
I just have to do something.
Wow, McKenna Brady.
I was surprised to hear you were coming.
Yeah, well, believe me, if I had a choice, I would not be here.
Look, before you say anything, I just want to thank you for saving my life.
That wasn't me.
That was Jennie.
I know.
But you were the one Where's Henry Richmond? Well, as you can imagine, you're not the first person to ask me that.
Cut the shit.
Honest, I don't know.
Right.
Well, he and Lena Regan are the only two people who know your death prediction, and now they're missing.
I know how it looks.
I don't expect you to believe me.
Good.
I don't.
Goodbye, Violet.
Thanks for stopping by.
Oh, you know what, there's one more thing.
I've been wondering what this goes to.
Actually, that's mine.
I'll just hold onto it for you.
