...Mean As a Rattlesnake

Previously on Light as a Feather Alex! Hey! Come on! Alex, what the hell is going on? Mac's sick and we can't go to the hospital.
We need your help.
I don't even know if this is gonna work.
Isaac? McKenna, I stopped drawing faces and I started drawing this church.
- Is Isaac dead? - I don't know.
Peri Boudreaux? Body! We got a body! Put your hands where I can see them! Well, if that wasn't Justin in your trunk, then who was it? Hey, it's Mona.
Here comes the Hey, Mom.
Um I'm on my way to New York.
Believe it or not.
I know we have a lot to talk about, but Like I said, I'm I'm ready to deal with it if you are.
Yeah, I'll I guess I'll call you later.
Um I love you.
Bye.
Thank you.
Peri? Sammi.
What a coincidence.
Um yeah.
What are what are you doing here? Oh.
Alex and I were just headed to my family's cabin.
Decided to get an early start.
What about you? Um New York.
- Oh my God, that's right.
- Yeah.
Of course, that's the big step.
Uh, yeah.
It's just Now or never, right? Exactly.
Hey, why don't you come say hi to Alex? I'm sure she'd be happy to see you, if, you know, she's awake.
Um Come on.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Um Hey, where's Why are you here, Alex? To what, stab me in the other hand? No.
No, I'm sorry.
Peri Why did it take you so long to tell me the truth? I know I screwed up.
There is one thing I have to know.
Did you ever really love me? Or were you just using me to get revenge on Violet? No, Alex.
What we had was real.
I want to believe you.
I do.
I want to forgive you.
But it's hard.
I mean, how can this even work? I'm running out of time.
Is there any way out of this for us? Yes.
That's what I was trying to tell you.
There's a town called Canaan.
And I'm pretty sure that's where the curse started, is this small, religious community that Margaret Abbott's family was in, and there's a reverend there, Fahey.
If we can find him, he can help us.
Are you sure? Yes.
Canaan.
Religious community.
Reverend Fahey.
Got it.
Thanks.
Oh, and um once McKenna and my friends are safe, I'm gonna make sure you never get out of here.
Goodbye, Peri.
Hey, Skye.
No, of course.
I I I'd be happy to.
No, of course.
Um Just, uh, text me the address and Yeah, okay.
Bye.
Hi.
I'm sorry, I didn't mean to eavesdrop.
Who was that? Sammi's Aunt Skye.
She's moving the body to the mortuary and um Sammi's van is at the impound nearby, so she wants me to go pick it up.
You sure you're up for that? Yeah.
No, I need to do it.
Just can't stop picturing it.
I'm so sorry.
They found her body in the back of Peri's car.
She was frozen.
How could I let this happen? We had no idea.
If only I'd been there to protect her.
If only I'd just gone to New York with her, but Trey, if you need anything, I I just, um I think I just need to be alone.
That didn't look good.
Yeah.
It wasn't.
Peri told me everything.
I'll explain in the car, but we should go now.
Sammi's dead.
Shit.
They found her in the back of Peri's car.
Oh, my God.
That's what Peri was talking about.
I I McKenna? What is it? Oh okay, we need to go to Canaan now, before April comes home and sees her like this.
Okay, let's go right now.
Wait, whoa what about Trey? No, he wants to be alone.
Plus, he told Sammi's aunt he'd pick up her van.
You sure he should be doing that alone? No.
Henry, can you please Yeah yeah.
Just call me when you get there, okay? Sign here, and it's all yours.
She had a ton of stuff.
It was her whole life.
Everything she was taking to New York.
She wasn't planning on coming back.
Look, you can't keep blaming yourself.
I know.
You know When Olivia died, I just kept blaming you for what happened.
Because you were the one that was driving the car.
But then I came around to the fact that it wasn't your fault.
It was Violet and the curse.
That's what you gotta understand now.
You can't keep blaming yourself for what happened.
All you can do is move forward.
Yeah.
Let's just get out of here.
What the hell? Dude, are you kidding me? Gotta be kidding me.
The gate must've shorted out.
I'll be right back.
Are you sure this is it? 100%.
This is exactly where Isaac was when he FaceTimed me.
Okay, let's get in there and figure out what happened to him.
I don't have time for this.
Hey.
We need a little help.
We're having a problem with the gate.
I'm busy.
I have a job.
Help! Richmond! Help! I can't breathe! so tired of this.
You're really pissing me off.
Help! Help! Richmond, help! Help! Help! Help! Trey! Trey! Shut it off! Shut it off! Shut it off! I can't hold it! Hey, hey, hey! Are you gonna be okay? I think I cracked a rib.
We gotta find the others.
Getting crushed was my death prediction.
The curse is getting closer.
We're going to Canaan.
What are we doing? Shouldn't we just find someone to talk to? May I help you? Uh, yeah.
Actually, our car broke down, - and we were wondering - Bullshit.
Sorry, poor choice of words.
You're the priest here, right? I'm Reverend Fahey.
How can I help you, ladies? What can you tell us about Margaret Abbott? We know her family used to come here.
Yes they, uh, did.
But that was at least 30 years ago.
If you have any idea where they might be Unfortunately, Margaret passed away.
It was so tragic, I Her family never really recovered.
Do you know where they are now? No, but wherever it is, I'm sure they'd prefer not to be bothered.
Please, if you have any information, a phone number I've told you everything I know.
Truly.
If you'll excuse me, I really must prepare for this evening's service.
Wait, I'm sorry, Reverend.
One more thing.
Have you seen our friend? We think he was here recently.
No.
I haven't.
But I'll, uh, pray that you find him.
Come on.
You guys don't actually believe Reverend "Full of Shit," do you? Because I've done my share of lying, and trust me, he's full of it.
How can you be so sure? Did you notice that he said Margaret died? We've been Googling for days, and we haven't found anything.
How is he the only one that knows that she's dead, and did you see his face when we showed him the photo of Isaac? Yeah, you're right.
He did seem pretty freaked.
So what do we do? We'll wait for him to leave tonight, break into the church, and see what he's hiding.
Let's go.
Hey.
Hey.
Kind of figured I'd be the last person you'd want to see right now.
No, I'm sorry for pushing you away.
All you ever do is try and protect everybody, which actually makes you the best person I know.
What's wrong? Are you hurt? Yeah, but not as bad as I thought I'd be.
Look, no matter what, we do this together, okay? Okay.
Come on.
I'll catch you up on what we know so far.
How long do we have to wait for this guy to take off? I don't know, but we can't exactly bust in there and start rummaging through his shit until he does.
Okay, well, what if he never leaves? What if he's, like, some freak who sleeps in his office? Then we sit here all night.
I never told anybody this, but when McKenna and I were together, I always kind of knew she had a thing for you.
Really? I can't say it didn't bug me, but, uh I I guess what I'm trying to say is, I always kind of knew you guys would be together at some point.
What can I say? McKenna's great.
She just happens to have really, really shitty taste in guys.
Ow.
I can't imagine what that would feel like.
To be so close to someone and to love someone and then find out that they're capable of doing that.
Not gonna lie, I was definitely blindsided.
Whenever I think about it, I don't know if I should scream or cry.
Yeah, but you don't.
It's amazing.
I would lose it.
How do you keep it together? Only way I know how.
I just focus on the fact that Peri is someplace she can never hurt me again.
Everything okay back there? Yeah.
Perfect.
Looks like someone finally decided to leave the office.
Finally.
I got this.
Let's go.
Looks like my dentist's office.
You have a weird dentist.
Oh, looks like we missed cocktail hour.
Cheap stuff, too.
Okay, guys, can we just focus so we can get out of here as soon as possible? Okay, look for anything that shows us where we can find Margaret Abbott and her family.
Like a congregation list or an address book or something.
Oh, my God.
Guys, these are Isaac's things.
His phone, his keys, his sketchbook.
- Are you sure? - Yeah, yeah.
I'm positive.
He knew.
He knew he was gonna die when he came here.
What the hell are you doing in here? I'm calling the police.
No, we can explain, um No, I can explain.
Look, before you make this call, can you please just listen to us? Please, we we're desperate and if you could just help McKenna! On second thought, go ahead, call the cops.
And when they get here, maybe you can tell them what happened to our friend, Isaac.
Maybe you can tell them why you have the sketchbook of a dead kid you said you didn't know.
What has gotten into her? You went through my things? Those aren't your drawings.
Where's Isaac? What are you doing? He's dead, isn't he? You want to know who else is gonna be dead if you keep lying and you don't help? All of us.
And I'm next.
Oh my God.
Oh Okay.
Okay! Fine.
It all started about 30 years ago.
Ezra and Josephine Who? Margaret's parents, they They came to me for help.
They were desperate.
They caught Margaret playing this game with her four sisters.
Five.
That's why five people play the game.
It was the devil's game.
With Margaret prophesying how each of her sisters would pass.
The predictions.
At first her parents tried not to think too much of it, but then Margaret wouldn't stop.
She kept insisting that her visions were true.
She seemed disturbed, not herself, and then her sisters confessed that Margaret forced them to play the game, that it was all her fault, that she was possessed.
Possessed? You're sure? I wasn't at first, but then Margaret tried to take her own life.
Her parents were inconsolable.
We all were.
- I had to do something to help - What did you do? I did the only thing I could to save her mortal soul.
I performed an exorcism.
But it failed.
Whatever demon was inside Margaret was too strong, and when she died, a curse was unleashed, and one by one, all of Margaret's sisters died just the way she said they would.
And it was my fault.
It was all my fault! Well, then make amends and tell us how to stop this! You can't! I could tell you where they lived, but that would be useless.
Don't you understand? You're too late.
McKenna, wait.
Stop.
Jennie! You said you would leave McKenna alone.
I did for as long as I could, but what do you expect me to do? Sit around and watch all of you screw this up? You can't keep doing this.
You want me to stop showing up? Then stop needing me to.
Are you coming or what? We've got the address.
Let's go.
How can I help you? I'm here to confess to the murder of Sammi Karras.
Woodrow, you're free to go.
