" Now tonight we're going to be here from my new home, Paramount Network.
LSB is a pop culture phenomenon and tonight we are celebrating the king of pop himself, Michael Jackson.
Oh, it's a huge night.
People around the world have fallen in love with "Lip Sync Battle" because it's where they can go to see their favorite celebrities go all out and pay tribute to some of the greatest music of all time.
Absolutely and tonight we're live from Dolby Theatre.
It's "Lip Sync Battle" like you've never seen it before.
And to kick off the show in style please welcome our all-star cast, Taraji P.

I have to thank Michael for being my teacher, my hero.
And I remember having Michael posters in my bedroom.
I had them too.

I just think he's an incredible genius.
I believe in perfection.
This is a celebration of the iconic, legendary Michael Jackson.
He was committed to what he did and gave his entire life for music.
For me it's definitely a love letter.
I'm here out of love for Michael.
That man is an icon.
To be here doing this for him, it is emotional.

We celebrate music and we reach people all over the world here and for the fist time Paramount Network and LSB are partnering with VH1 Save The Music to give tonight's winner To give tonight's winner a grant to bring the music program to a school in a city that's close to their heart.
Plus on behalf of our other three stars, Save The Music and the One Million Guitar Foundation, we'll put 1,000 new guitars in the hands of kids across it country.

Tonight we're celebrating the music of Michael Jackson and first up is a man who's a master at performing live.
He's danced a song on this very stage hosting the Oscars.

" I've always looked for a reason to be able to do it.
It's a big celebration of all things Michael Jackson.
You really only get one shot at it, so better make it good.
Everyone loves Michael Jackson.
He was ridiculously famous.
Like the Beatles, people openly weeping and reaching their arms out for him and he'd freeze and hold a pose.
He was really cool.
As much as I've been by myself in the shower cutting some M.

moves, I've never really done it on the dance floor.
I'm not a dancer by trade.
I've never taken a dance class.
I'm still just not Sometimes when you do something live you're blinded by the nervousness of failing in front of cameras.
I don't know how I'm going to get to the Still a little You know.
Michael Jackson always tried to incorporate a magical quality or actual magic.
I love magic.
It's been my main hobby.
I produce shows.
I do magic.
I want this to be one of those fun moments and do a cool magic trick in the middle of it.
The idea to get to embody Michael Jackson for a second, maybe two minutes, is something I'll look back on and remember for the rest of my life.
I hope people love it.
Michael, always a perfectionist and it shows in the iconic short film that we created for this next song, with incredible visuals and gravity-defying moments.

I'm not that kind of dancer by trade so I spent a lot of time listening to these songs and trying to mirror the unbelievable dancers that you are seeing right now, that you'll see tonight.
They're so talented! So I'm just trying to keep up.
But I had a good time.

This is probably one of the most intimidating things I've ever done.
Attempting to perform a Michael Jackson song on live television.
That's kind of insane.
I chose this song because for me it's one of Michael's sexiest songs and I relate.
Girls like me and boys like me, and non-binary people like me, who have longed to be close to that person who does it for them.
It is my goal to combine Michaelism and Lavernism.
There's a lot of hairography in Lavernism.
This is not about copying Michael Jackson.
No one can.

Live is scary.
I had a blast the last time I did "Lip Sync Battle.
" I did not win it belt.
I was very, very disappointed.
I just want to do a good show this time.
