Little Dog (2018) s01e07 Episode Script

Round Seven

1 (LOWLY JR.
): Previously on Little Dog - 148 pounds.
- For a minute, Tommy thought he wasn't gonna have to fight because Rico was a pound overweight.
He had a bright idea.
He was gonna burn a lot of calories fighting a grown man in a sauna.
Rico makes his weight after all, which is good for Mom because Tommy pulled some strings - to have her sing the Ode.
- Ever hear her singing the Ode? Which he only did to one-up me, but then I overheard Tucker saying the fight was fixed, which gave me some ideas.
Even if he takes a fall in the 5th - I made a mistake.
- he'll still come out on top because Pamela wants him back.
I just hope he can last to the 5th round because when he goes down, man, we're gold! We're gold! Remember that time Steve Randall stole my bike? That black BMX one I got for Easter? Yeah, I remember you got a BMX for Easter.
It had them, uh suction cups on the grips, almost like an octopus.
Dad found it downtown somewhere, remember that? Steve Randall stole it.
What about him? It's just I remember when we caught him.
Yeah, when I caught him.
He took a swing and you dodged it, and it hit me.
By the time I got up, you had his lip cracked open - and his eye swollen shut.
- Yeah.
I saw him downtown slinging hotdogs last year.
He's still soft as shit.
Everybody, everybody knew you were a fighter.
That's the day I found out I wasn't one.
Yeah, well, I always had to fight, Lowly.
You didn't.
What's that supposed to mean? Nothing, girl.
Tommy do you think that was Steve Randall's bike and Dad stole it, and that was just Steve trying to get it back? (CHUCKLING) You know what, man? Probably, now that you mention it.
Oh, man.
That's horrible.
And you beating him up! You're sick, boy.
(THEME MUSIC) (DOG BARKING) - (BELL RINGING) - You need me down there! I could do additional commentary! Let me watch! Let me out of here! Reynolds.
Look, it's my son's comeback fight.
A favour for someone.
When you get caught, don't dare mention my name.
(MARTIAL-STYLE MUSIC) (TRUCK HONKING) (HEAVY BREATHING) See if you can find Mom, eh Chestley? Hey champion! Hey, national super welter-something champion! Rico St.
George! Havoc! Yeah! - Ow! - Oh, God! Sorry! - What the hell? - I thought you were gonna like, block it or duck or something.
I would have if I knew you were gonna walk in here and hit me.
Oh, I was just trying to like, you know encourage you a little bit, rouse you out of your your - Out of my what? - Your Your Your, uh Uh, your Oh, God.
You're gonna destroy my brother with like, this and with these (SIGHING) (MARTIAL-STYLE MUSIC) (MOANING) I can't find Nan and everyone Hey! Ha ha! Uh, yeah, what? - What are you doing? - Oh, I was just, uh Don't worry, babe.
I'm just gettin' in his head, messin' with his mojo - before the big fight.
- His "mojo"? Yeah.
God! What, do you think I'm actually like, attracted to Rico? What's going on? Just pumpin' up Rico before the fight.
His rage.
His energy.
- Mm-hmm.
- Let's go find the elusive Sylvia Ross! Yay! - Just go! - OK! She's supposed to sing the Ode.
Where is she? She was in a mood when I left.
She couldn't decide between the plaid dress and the pantsuit.
Now, I love the plaid on her personally, but she wouldn't listen to me.
Come on.
Let's go.
One.
Jesus! Too hard, boy! Watch your wrist! You got no wraps on.
One two.
There you go.
That's it.
Why aren't you pawing at me? Um ahem.
'Cause, uh ahem.
You know, Rico's Rico's gotta save his sexual energy for the Little Dog.
Ahem.
You have to save your sexual energy for Tommy? Uh, yeah.
It's it's the same essence, you know.
- Oh.
- It's, uh, - Rico doesn't wanna drain his essence.
- You have no essence left.
You've been starving yourself for a month to get down to Tommy's weight.
It's not safe.
You care about fighting my ex more than you do about me, right? Yeah, well, you care about other things more than you care about Rico.
You care about Cassius - more than you care about Rico.
- You're jealous of Cassius now? Why do you have to do this to Rico before his big fight? This isn't your big fight! Your big fight was yesterday in Vegas and you missed it.
This is your petty little fight.
But you know what? It's not mine.
Pam (DOOR CLOSING) - One two.
- No, I'll wait for my wraps.
(SIGHING) I mean, we are who we are, right? We know who we are.
We're middle of the road living with our Moms.
Like, we're not exactly losers or anything, but we're not really winners either.
Thanks for the pep talk there, Lowly, but you can shut up now.
Look, I just Look, I want you to know that if you don't win out there, that that's all right.
Do you know what I'm saying? Like if you go out there and you lose, like we're still cool, man.
Like, me and you, we're still brothers, you know what I mean? I love bonding with you.
We should bond more often.
Why don't we bond more often, my man? Ooh! I love bonding with you, me brother.
Love mwah! Ha ha! Man - That's not bonding.
- I'm pumped.
This is bonding.
Woo! We're pumped! Come on, let's do this! Ah! Look, Lowly's little nipper! You pumped? Yeah, I'm pumped.
Mom's pumped too.
She was hooked over Rico.
- She what? - Just to get in his head, you know.
Oh, man Your mom is such a skank! Like, you can always count on her to get more pumped than the rest of us, eh bud? (SIGHING) When sun rays crown (GROANING) Get over the head (HEAVY BREATHING) You look lovely! - Where's your damn mother? - Phone's going to voicemail.
We got politicians out there.
They're gonna wanna hear that Ode.
They don't like to be in the pockets of people who are not patriotic, politicians don't.
Someone's gonna have to sing it.
Yeah.
She'll be here.
That is my worst favourite: people who say they're gonna do something, and then they don't do it.
You know what I mean, Tommy boy? Get me? You're going down in the 5th.
Yeah.
I can't believe you're doing this on the day of Tommy's fight.
Well, let's go! Come on.
I need to figure out a way to get in there.
Do you have a wig or what? Everything good about my life you have ruined.
Everything.
Like the time I was supposed to audition for that dinner theatre and you were supposed to take the kids to church, but you came home drunk! I was still gonna take them to church! Now, do you wanna go sing or what? (TAMMY): Ladies and gentlemen, - the Ode to Newfoundland! - Mom.
Mom must have made it.
Well, come on.
We gotta go listen to her.
When sun rays Crown thy pine-clad hill And summer Spreads her hand When silvern voices Tune thy rills We love thee - Smiling land - Lowly The fight's started.
I've missed my opportunity.
Oh, no! How did that happen? You! (SIGHING) You did it.

(CHEERING AND APPLAUSE) (BELL RINGING) Tommy Ross looking a little tentative to start the fight.
The five-year-layoff is really showing on him.
Little Dog better turn this around or it could be over fast.
- (REFEREE): Watch the pushing! - (GROANING) Oh, my God! Rico St.
George just knocked Tommy Ross - out of the ring! - 1! Now, the ref stated a boxer has 18 seconds to return to the ring, so we're all hoping he's gonna get back up, get in and stick around for the whole fight this time.
5! - (GRUNTING) - 6! - 7! - Tommy Ross getting up, showing a flash of his old toughness.
- Our Little Dog is a scrapper.
