Lost in Oz (2015) s02e01 Episode Script

The Deadly Desert

1 Last season on "Lost in Oz" DOROTHY: The house is flying! You are going to Oz.
Oz? What is Oz? All I want is to take my home back home.
There are over 100 different known magical elements in Oz.
And I need one of each to get home.
We're in the middle of the worst magic crime wave in eons.
You're not goin' anywhere.
WEST: That's Glinda the Good.
If anyone can get you home, she can.
DOROTHY: Glinda was taken? Who is powerful enough to take Glinda the Good? The gnomes kidnapped Glinda? We've been looking everywhere for you.
We found where the gnomes are storing the missing magic.
We're bringing it back to Glinda.
My magic! You all have just made a new enemy.
We're really going home, Toto.
- [ALARM BEEPING.]
- But part of me wishes we could stay.
[SCREAMING.]
Scarecrow, what are you doing in Kansas? Dorothy, we're not in Kansas.
DOROTHY: Then where are we? Where are we? [WHIMPERS.]
Oh.
The Deadly Desert.
How did this even happen? Well, let's see.
I started waving as your house took off from the airport, and I really wanted to make sure you saw me, and I guess I got a little too close, because the next thing I knew, I was whipping around like socks in a blender.
But we were headed for Kansas.
How'd we end up crashing here? There was a second tornado.
It ripped us from your twister, and dropped us in the sand.
[SIGHS.]
It's all my fault.
At 11:11, I wished that we could stay in Oz.
I did this.
My wish came true.
[WHIMPERS.]
How do we get out of here? I don't know.
Nobody ever has.
Oh, I don't believe it.
We're lost again! [SIGHS.]
Excuse me for a second.
[WHIMPERS.]
- [SCREAMING.]
- [GASPING.]
Okay, I'm back.
[BARKS.]
Well, we better take a look around.
- Dorothy, no! - Whoa! Promise me you won't touch it or step on it, or come in contact with it in any way.
The Deadly Desert is a death trap.
But Scarecrow, It's just sand.
Deadly sand.
[SNIFFING, WHIMPERING.]
Are you sure? It looks pretty harmless to me.
Everyone in Oz knows if you touch the sands of the Deadly Desert, you turn into a horrible, miserable sand ghost fated to eternally wander the desert.
Eternally means forever.
So, we're trapped.
[WHIMPERS.]
I'm really sorry, Dorothy.
[SIGHS.]
It's not your fault, Scarecrow.
I take full responsibility for our unexpected detour.
It's up to me to find our way home.
The beloved, wise, and enchanted king's birthday party is still a month away.
Dorothy and the dog are to be his gifts, and must be kept secret until then.
- Sir.
- Our king will be so giddy with joy, that he will forgive us all for that humiliating debacle in Emerald City.
- Uh, sir.
- Eh, what's this? So Dorothy's house crashed in the Deadly Desert, did it? No wonder the fairy lands think nothing of us.
We can't even control our own tornado! Retrieval plans for the girl are already underway, sir.
Might I remind you the only chance to avoid the king's wrath is getting Dorothy Gale! [GROANING.]
DOROTHY: Come on.
Come on.
There's gotta be someone out here that can help us.
Any luck? Not just There! SCARECROW: What? What do you see? DOROTHY: I think it's a lighthouse.
There's a mirror in the bathroom, Scarecrow.
Bring it to me.
Aye, aye, captain.
We need to create three flashes with the sun's light, and hope that someone in that lighthouse sees.
Then they'll come and rescue us.
Well, what if they don't speak mirror? [CHUCKLES.]
It's the universal signal for help.
Wow.
Now, when I say up, you tilt the mirror up.
And when I say down, you tilt it down.
Those are very complicated directions.
But I'll try to do my best.
- Ready? - Mm-hm.
- Up.
Down.
- Ooh.
Uh Up.
Down.
Up.
Down.
Up.
Down.
Up.
Down.
Up.
Down.
Up.
Down.
Up.
Down.
Up.
Down.
Up.
Down.
- Up.
Down.
- [YAWNS.]
Up.
Down.
[SIGHS.]
Where was I? Up.
Down.
Maybe they don't speak mirror.
[SIGHS.]
It's probably just a mirage.
No, Dorothy.
Look! The lighthouse people saw us.
[BARKING.]
What is that? Carpeto magicalis.
Otherwise known as a magic carpet.
[SNIFFING.]
Toto! [HOWLING.]
[PANTING.]
Ah, thank you.
[BARKING.]
Wh Oh! Safety dome.
Carpeto, nice touch.
To the lighthouse.
DOROTHY: Something tells me we're in for quite a ride! Whoa! Wahoo! [LAUGHS.]
[BARKING.]
[GROWLING.]
Uh, Scarecrow Well, maybe if we ignore them, they'll just go away.
- Whoa! - [SCREAMS.]
[GRUNTING.]
Who are you? [GERMAN ACCENT.]
We are the Wheelers.
Ja.
Born of the desert.
More deadlier than sand.
What do you want from us? Pull over your carpet, and we explain.
How about you explain first, and then maybe we'll pull over.
[SCOFFS.]
No.
That is not how taking captives ever works.
Did he just say captives? [TOTO WHIMPERS.]
Carpeto, get us out of here! - Wahah! - Ya-ha! - Ha-ho! - Ya-ha! [WHIMPERING.]
[SCREAMING.]
We lost the dome! We'd better lose the Wheelers fast.
[GRUNTING.]
- Huh? - Huh.
[GRUNTING.]
Where did they go? Where could they go? Shh.
Looks like we lost them.
Nice work, carpeto.
That was some serious flying, man.
- Whoa.
- Ohhh! - Dorothy! - [WHIMPERING.]
[GROANING.]
Must be getting the girl before the desert does.
Ahh! [GASPING.]
[BARKING.]
The sand ghost will never let us near her.
Undjust like that we are in big trouble with the gnomes.
- [SHUDDERING.]
- [BARKING.]
- I'm okay! - [BARKING.]
I mean, I think I'm okay.
[WHIMPERING.]
- [BARKING.]
- [GASPING.]
No, Toto, you can't.
She's a Dorothy's a sand ghost now.
Scarecrow, come on.
I'm not a sand ghost.
[SNIFFING.]
[LICKING.]
See? It's just me.
Maybe the desert's not so deadly after all.
[BARKING.]
But if I'm not a sand ghost, then why did those Wheelers just give up and leave? They seemed pretty determined to Wow.
What's that? Look, guys.
It's a lunch pail tree.
Ahh, do you see it? It's huge! - [BARKS.]
- Um, I don't see anything.
Come on! Let's eat.
I suddenly just realized I'm starved.
But Dorothy, there's nothing over there.
And the mountains are that way, remember? The lighthouse? Let's go! There's enough food for all of us.
Something's not right, Toto.
[RUMBLING.]
[BARKING.]
No! Toto! [BARKING.]
Dorothy, come back! Only one thing could make this moment better.
- [WHIMPERS.]
- Ojo.
He loves humbees.
And what am I, Malgravian beet pie? Are you seeing what I'm seeing? [BARKING.]
West? Ojo? Oh, what are you guys doing here? Of course we're here.
We missed you.
WOMAN: But no one as much as me.
[GASPS.]
Mom? Hi, kiddo.
No.
This can't be real.
Does it matter, as long as we all get to be together? Come on.
The food's even better up here.
GOPH: The king may love her, and everything will go back to normal.
Or the king may hate her, and I will be finished.
My entire future depends on a little girl from Kansas.
Listen to me, friend.
If the girl is all you have, then the girl will prove to be all you need.
We don't have the girl, sir.
How dare you interrupt my reflection during his pep talk! [GASPING.]
Apologies, sir, but there's troubling news from the desert.
What am I looking at? Uh, Dorothy Gale, sir.
Seems our retrieval attempts collided, and now she's been seduced by the desert.
I told you to cancel the carpet.
No more attempts! Rally the troopers! Into the desert we go to fetch the king his gifts! [LAUGHING.]
This is the best, guys.
Oh, I could hang out with you forever.
Do the impersonation again.
[GERMAN ACCENT.]
Born of the desert, more deadlier than sand.
[LAUGHING.]
That's so ridiculous.
And totally untrue.
Nothing's more deadly than the desert.
[LAUGHING.]
I should probably go check on Scarecrow.
No! Oh, what I mean is, stay.
Relax.
Enjoy yourself.
We'll go check on him.
Maybe we'll even convince him to join us.
[BARKS, WHIMPERS.]
[CHUCKLES.]
What? I'm just so happy to have you back with me.
What? All of you sound so real.
You feel so real, too.
The longer you stay, the more real we'll become.
But my heart will always know that you're not my mom.
I'll always know she's out there looking for me.
With time, all of that fades away.
Hmm BOTH: We need her more than you do.
[GASPING.]
- Can Toto stay? - Of course he can.
He completes our family.
Okay.
Promise me, Dorothy.
Promise you'll stay here with me forever.
I SCARECROW: Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa! Whoa-oh-oh-oh! [SCREAMS.]
She needs to join us.
We need new friends! Are you guys okay? Yeah, I think so.
[GASPS.]
SCARECROW: Hurry.
There it is! Get us to the lighthouse.
[SCREAMING.]
[GRUNTING.]
[GRUNTING.]
We almost had you.
[BARKING.]
They're not following us.
I'm so happy you're okay.
I thought I lost you guys.
Those sand ghosts almost had us fooled.
But not you, Scarecrow.
[BARKING.]
Ah, don't worry, Dorothy.
Usually, I'm the one being fooled.
[POUNDING.]
Where's all that noise coming from? [BARKING.]
[POUNDING CONTINUES.]
[POUNDING GETS LOUDER.]
[TOTO WHIMPERS.]
[GASPING.]
[POUNDING.]
Dorothy, look.
[POUNDING.]
There is no lighthouse.
But that doesn't make any sense.
If nobody saw us out there, then who sent carpeto? [POUNDING.]
DOROTHY: There.
There's a door on the other side.
On the other side of that? What other choice do we have, go back and become sand ghosts? [WHIMPERING.]
Look, Dorothy, getting through this is gonna be impossible.
Oh, please don't say it.
It's worth a shot.
[POUNDING.]
[POUNDING.]
[GASPING.]
[POUNDING.]
Voom.
Vap.
Da-voom-voom, vap! [POUNDING.]
Voom, vap, da-voom-voom, vap! Listen.
That's the beat.
It's a pattern.
- [BUZZING.]
- [RAPID POUNDING.]
No problem.
We just need to make sure we're through before that part happens again.
Ready? Go! [POUNDING.]
- Wait! - [GASPING.]
Go! Wait! Go! [WHIMPERS.]
Stop! Go! [PANTING.]
- Woohoo! - Yes! [GASPS.]
Toto! [WHIMPERING.]
- [HOWLING.]
- [BUZZING.]
- I gotta go back.
- Ohh, listen.
They're taking it to the bridge.
Stay! [RAPID POUNDING.]
[INDISTINCT YELLING.]
[WHIMPERING.]
Ahh! Stay! - [PANTING.]
- [POUNDING.]
[WHIMPERING.]
[GASPING.]
[WHIMPERING.]
Toto! Oh, Toto.
[CREAKING.]
[GASPING.]
[LAUGHING.]
Well, well, would you look at this.
- Goph.
- Hello, Scarecrow.
The surprise is mutual, I'm sure.
Now, Dorothy, I'm very sorry that our tornado failed to complete its journey, and that our carpet dropped you off before we could disable our quaint little security system.
[SNIFFING, WHIMPERS.]
But I did just save the life of your four-legged chum there, so at the very least, you could take my offered hand.
Psych! You're disgusting! What is this place? Ha! You don't You're totally oblivious! I love it! What a treat.
[GRUNTING.]
Dorothy Gale, it is with the utmost pleasure that I finally welcome you to the Gnome Kingdom.
[ROARING.]
I thought it was my wish that brought us to the Deadly Desert, but it was you.
Of course it was me, silly girl.
Wishes don't come true.
