Mech-X4 (2016) s02e05 Episode Script

Versus the Mountain

1 Previously, on MECH-X4 - Found your birth father.
- Really? That's But he's been in an accident.
And if you don't do something you might lose him forever.
Randall! Over here.
Over here.
- Were you followed? - They're right behind me.
They came to the house.
Oh, Randall, I'm so sorry.
This is all my fault.
W-W-What can I do? You can protect my son.
He won't be safe with us, not with those people out there hunting us down.
- Who are they? - They're with Harper.
Who else could it be? - What are you gonna do? - Leave town.
Change my identity.
Just keep on running until they give up.
- Man: This way! - (footsteps) They're coming.
Are you sure you can keep him safe? I promise.
I will find him a nice family to live with.
He doesn't like strained peas.
And this is Mr.
Wooby.
He never goes to sleep without him.
I love you so much.
Which is why I have to leave you here.
(cooing) Man: Over here! - I gotta go.
- Mm-hmm.
Thanks, Leo.
Maybe we'll see each other again someday.
Good luck, Randall.
Oh, wait.
What's his name? Ryan.
His name's Ryan.
I'll draw them away from you.
Leave me alone! - There he is! - After him! Man: Go! Go! Shh.
It's okay.
It's okay, don't cry.
(electricity crackles) Wow.
I knew you had powers, but wow.
You are one special kid, Ryan.
You're sure about this? My birth father's in danger? Mm-hmm.
He took a job as a miner for the McCallum Mining Concern, but there was a collapse at his dig site.
A cave-in? So he's trapped? And the company's keeping everything about it quiet.
They must not have had permission to drill there.
They're leaving them to, uh fend for themselves.
So they left him there to die? Well, yeah but you're a kid, so sometimes I try to phrase things a little less horribly.
But yeah, they're leaving them to die.
Well, I guess it's up to me.
Let's go save my father.
(theme music plays) I plotted a course to Mount Lancer.
And I got travel brochures for sightseeing along the way.
Dude, are you sure we should take the robot out of the state? Grey and Harper are still out there.
They know who we are.
We gotta protect Mom.
Actually, I've got that covered.
(chuckles) Ch-Cha! It's a home defense unit.
So, we put this on top of your roof, and it's programmed to detect all of our enemies.
If it gets a hit, it'll let us know.
I also wanted to have it release killer bees, but capturing them one at a time was taking forever.
- This guy knows what I mean.
- No.
Mm-mm.
All right, I should stay and help Leo Harper-proof our place.
You gonna be all right? Totally.
Go take care of Mom.
Hey, Leo, now that we're alone, there's something that I wanted to ask you.
Up-bup-bup-bup-bup bup-bup-bup.
First, let me show you something.
(chuckles) Yeah! My car! You rebuilt the Mark-mobile! I used MECH-X4's repair nanites to rebuild it, and, I added a little surprise.
- Lasers? - No.
- Missiles? - Oh, no, no.
How about the sweet scent of pine? Yeah, yeah, it took a while, but I wanted to do something a little special just in case you were feeling a little less special.
Why would I feel less special? Well, obviously, now that I'm back, and I know the robot inside and out, the team's gonna want me to be the mechanic, and that's got to bum you out.
It didn't, but it does now.
Oh, no, no, no.
Don't be bummed out.
I don't even want that terrible job.
I made it up at the very end.
That's why there's no chair for you.
Yeah, I noticed, but that's not why I wanted to talk to you.
Your experiments gave Ryan his powers.
Yeah.
Could you do that with me? Could you make me a technopath, too? Harris: Okay, I can see the mining company's op center.
We're almost there.
Hey, have you figured out what you're gonna say to your dad when you meet him? Well, I'd lead with, "Hi.
I'm Ryan Walker.
Can I have 14 years worth of Christmas presents, please?" I can't reveal my identity to him, guys.
Harper's back! And if he finds out about my father, he'll go after him.
Just meeting him will have to be enough.
Hey, hey, do we have time to stop? The world's largest cornflake is right near Mount Lancer.
I found it on this blog called "World's Greatest Hoaxes.
" Oh, Spyder.
A hoax is something that's not Harris, just leave him his dreams.
We're here.
Harris: I'm picking up a signal from down there.
Tapping into feed.
It's really him.
- Harris, what was that? - Scanning The mountain is losing structural integrity.
It could collapse any minute.
Don't worry, we're coming for you.
Just hang on.
Harris: Your dad is separated from his team and all the miners are trapped.
If we're gonna rescue the miners, we have to move now.
There's an elevator that goes directly to the chamber your father's in, but the controls got busted during the cave-in.
That's no problem for a technopath.
But we can't reach it because that side of the mountain has collapsed.
All right, then we're gonna have to make a path for the elevator shaft.
- Ryan: Spyder? - The drill's online.
Harris: Just be very careful.
One wrong move and the whole mountain could cave in.
- Do you have any good news today? - Um - I got my first chest hair.
- Congrats, man.
- Whoa.
- Thank you.
(loud rumbling) Harris: That's it.
Nice and easy.
Almost there.
- A little bit more.
- Take it slow.
Slow! Ah! We're through.
Pulling the drill out.
We've made an entrance.
- Nice job, guys.
- Yeah, but it won't last very long.
You're just a ray of sunshine today.
We'll zip down to the bottom of the mine and rescue my dad and the miners, and then we'll zip right back up.
Ryan, we could get trapped down there.
We're gonna have to figure out a way to keep the exit open.
I could extend the shields and keep the hole clear.
And I could blast any debris that falls down there.
Okay, cool.
You two stay up here.
Wish me luck.
Harris: It's going to be dark down there.
Grab the X-goggles.
Ryan, how's it going? So far, so good.
Looks like the control panel's busted.
But, then again (loud thud) (screeching metal) Ryan, you're moving kind of fast.
Because I'm falling! Come on, there has to be emergency brakes.
Emergency brakes! Found them! (grunts) (groans) Uh Hey! Um Huh! Wow, yeah, I'm here.
I mean, you're here.
I mean, I'm here to save you.
Wait, aren't you a little young to be a rescue worker? Yeah, I'm one of those child prodigies that specializes in, um, digging and saving dudes.
(laughs) Okay, you know what? I could use all the help I can get.
You okay? Uh, yeah, uh - How long have you been down here? - Almost a week.
My family must be worried sick.
Yeah, uh, it must be tough.
Family is really important.
(rumbling) All right, we're running out of time.
We have to get out of here.
My team is trapped behind this rubble and I'm not leaving here without them.
Yeah, of course.
It looks like we need to get all these rocks out of here.
But they're too heavy and I'm still trying to figure out what to do.
Watch this.
That's fantastic tech.
Where did you get this? Oh, uh, it's the latest in rescue technology.
Standard issue.
(drill buzzing) Security rushes me out the front door and that is how I met Billy Joel.
Leo, the question was, "Can you make me a technopath?" Oh, right.
Um Sorry, Mark.
No, I can't.
Ryan got his powers by accident.
Look, I get it.
I think I know what's going on here.
You used to be the big man on campus and now it feels like you're living in Ryan's shadow.
- Again, didn't think that until you said it.
- I got to stop saying stuff.
I just want to help.
He had to go after Grey, Harper, his father.
If I could pilot the robot, he could get a break once in a while.
You're a good brother, Mark, but I still can't.
What are you doing? What is all this stuff Why are you on the roof? And who's that? Those are all excellent questions.
Mark - Amazing.
- Yeah, it shouldn't take much longer now.
Good, there's not much time.
It must be hard, you know, working such a dangerous job.
Well Uh, you mentioned you had a family? A wife.
Any kids? Uh no.
No kids.
But I do have people who depend on me, and they're on the other side of these rocks.
Are you okay? Seems like you got something on your mind.
What? No, no.
It's just two guys trapped in a mine, trying to make conversation, so.
Miner: Hey, look! I don't believe it.
- We're through.
- Come on, help him.
Ryan (through intercom): Good news, we found the miners.
You guys hang on, okay? (miners coughing) - Ryan: Let's go! Careful, careful.
Come on, fellas, come on.
That rock wall was supporting the ceiling.
It's all coming down! Come on! Let's get to the elevator! - Come on! - Come on, move it! Move it! It's coming down! Look out! (groans) No! - Are you okay? - My leg is pinned.
The whole place is coming down.
Go! I'm not leaving without you! Kid, don't risk your life for me.
- You don't even know me! - Yes, I do! My name is Ryan.
I'm your son.
Ryan? Is it really you? Come on! Wait! Wait! Ryan: Come on! - Miner 1: Come on, come on! - Miner 2: Hurry up! Go, go, go! Come on, Ryan, you're almost there.
(loud thud) - That's not good.
- It's okay.
- (alarm ringing) - Okay, that can't be good.
Miner: What was that? - We stopped moving.
- Come on, guys, figure something out.
Those rocks just blocked the exit.
They won't be able to get out! I got this.
When defense doesn't work, offense takes over.
Spyder, are you nuts? Yes.
Appreciate.
You cleared the hole, but the elevator's still jammed! Oh, I'm not done.
Ryan, grappling grip! Got it! - What's going on? - It's okay, just hang on.
Randall: Everybody stay calm.
We're being lifted to safety somehow.
Go, get to the infirmary.
I'll catch up with you guys in a sec.
Are you okay? I'm fine.
What just happened? That.
(metal creaking) I kind of pilot a giant robot.
(laughs) You pilot that? It's amazing.
Thank you, Ryan.
Thank you for saving me.
And thank you for telling me the truth.
I thought I was gonna lose you.
I thought you should at least know who I am.
Oh, son.
I can't wait to spend time with you! What's wrong? I want to, but we can't, okay? It's dangerous.
Do you remember Seth Harper? Remember him? That snake.
He tried to hunt us down.
We had to hide you from him.
And now I have to hide you from him.
He's still alive.
When I saw that he was gone in the news, I knew it was too good to be true.
He knows who I am.
If he sees us together He'll figure out who I am and use me against you.
I'm so sorry.
Don't be sorry.
If this is all the time we get, then it'll have to be enough.
You know, I always imagined what you'd be like.
But the real deal is so much better.
(sirens wailing) Oh, uh, my friends must have called for help.
- Yeah, and I gotta - I gotta (both laugh) (helicopter approaching) (sirens continue) So, you wanna tell me why you're up there? Uh, okay.
I was trying to sink a shot over the roof, and broke the satellite dish.
And free of charge, we've upgraded you to a bigger, bulkier satellite.
- This is the repairman.
- At your service, ma'am.
Okay, well, since you're here, can you do me a favor? My boy's grades have been slipping.
Could you, I don't know, block all the sports channels? No, he can't do that Oh, no, totally not a problem at all.
I can absolutely do that.
In fact, I can also cut the movie channels, because I am a real TV repairman.
Hmm.
Good idea.
Thank you.
Whew! Thanks a lot, man.
Take away my TV and my ability to help Ryan? Okay, bye-bye, All Sports Network.
Oh, man! Uh You help Ryan plenty, Mark.
He owes you a lot.
I promised that Ryan would end up with a nice family and I made sure the agency picked yours.
You know why? Yeah, because my mom and dad are awesome.
Okay, bye-bye Action Movies HD! Dude! It wasn't just your parents, Mark.
- It was you.
- What? - Me? - Yeah.
See, I knew Ryan was going to have a tough life being a technopath, so he was gonna need an older brother to look after him.
But I was kind of a jerk to Ryan growing up.
Well, brothers fight.
But when Ryan found the robot and he needed a team, you stepped up.
And now when the bot needs fixing, you take care of it.
And whenever Ryan is in trouble, you do whatever it takes to get him out of it.
Seems to me like you help him more than, well pretty much anyone.
Thanks, Leo.
That means a lot.
Yeah.
Maybe I could get some of those channels back? - Oh, absolutely! - Woo! Just as soon as your grades go back up.
What? Did we do that? No.
No, that was something else.
(door creaks open) Nice work, guys.
We should probably get out of here.
Hey, while you were down there I grabbed this screenshot of you off the video feed.
Thanks, man.
That's that's awesome.
- What do you say we go see a giant cornflake? - Yes! (alarm sounds) You've got to get back to Bay City! All right, we're on our way! We never get to do my thing.
(sirens wail in distance) Harris: They city's power grid is out of control! What's going on? (phone dials) It's me, Randall.
Yeah, I got the ore.
But I got something else, too.
I know how to track Leo down.
Just go ahead with the plan.
Get Leo.
