[Ben sighs] It's almost the holidays
and I'm so excited about
all the holiday things we're gonna do.
Like having lots
of scrumptious things to eat,
exchanging gifts with my friends
and wondering what Santa might bring.
And here in Motown,
well, it just wouldn't be the holidays
if it wasn't for Uncle Rod turning on
the lights of our Christmas tree
and knocking out the power
to the whole neighborhood. [chuckles]
-[indistinct chatter]
-[student 1] I'm so excited.
[school bell ringing]
-[student 2] Whoo-hoo!
-Have a very happy holiday.
-You may leave.
-[children laughing]
[Ms. Hernandez chuckles] Oh, oh! Hey.
[children cheering]
Whoa!
[laughs]
Hey, check this out, guys.
Oh, whoa! [groaning]
[Ben] Huh?
Hmm?
[sighs]
Are you okay, Angie?
Yeah, well,
I'm going to be spending the holidays
with my dad this year, which is great.
I mean, I love visiting my grandparents
and seeing all my cousins,
and it'll be great. It will be.
Yeah, of course. It'll be great.
But it just means
I won't get to have a Motown Christmas,
with you guys fooling around
and bugging me.
But I mean, you're still gonna have fun
with your dad and all of your family.
Hmm.
Anyways, I should be heading home.
I need to pack.
[sighs]
Hey, wanna shoot some hoops?
No. No, thanks.
I'm feeling kind of bummed
that Angie's so sad.
Huh?
She's down in the dumps
'cause she's not gonna be with us
here in Motown for the holiday.
Oh, snap!
Uh, now I'm down in the dumps, too.
We have to put the "happy" back
in Angie's "happy holiday,"
then we'll be happy, too.
[Mickey] Mmm-mmm.
This place smells so fine.
Oh, and warm. And tasty.
That's it!
We'll bake something scrumptious
for Angie to take away with her.
[chuckles] It's lovely to see you guys
take an interest in baking.
So, what will we bake? A cake.
More than just a cake.
A cake in the shape
of our whole neighborhood,
to remind Angie of home.
Never knew cake could be so clingy.
-[Angie] Hi, guys.
-[Ben and Mickey] Huh?
What's happenin'?
Uh, nothing. Can't come in.
Uh, too busy to hang out.
Nothing to see here.
But Guys?
What are they
[sighs]
[sighs] I guess my friends
have better things to do.
[Mickey] Hey, Angie.
We've got a big surprise for you.
Huh?
A little something to take away with you
when you leave for the holidays.
Um, what is it?
It's a cake in the shape of our street.
It's to remind you of us. [chuckles]
[sighs]
-I think she liked it.
-[sighs]
She hated it. Hmm.
Okay, so the cake didn't help.
I've just had a serious brainwave.
You have?
The perfect gift. [chuckles]
Applaud me now.
Oh. [chuckles] Angie's skateboard?
Uh, Mickey, it's not totally a gift
if it's already hers.
[sighs] Guess I should go take it back.
No, wait. Mickey, you're brilliant.
We can make Angie's skateboard
even better.
[chuckles softly] I am brilliant.
So, how we gonna do that?
[Rod] So you want me to upgrade this.
Hmm. Squeeze a little of this,
tighten a little of this, jet burner here.
Well, you know me. [chuckles]
I surely can.
Let's see. [chuckles]
-[Rod laughing]
-[electricity crackling]
[sighs] Can I open my eyes now?
-Sure can.
-What are you waiting for?
It's so you can--
I know. So I can think of you guys
while I'm away for the holidays.
Uncle Rod says you just have to flick
this little switch right here.
-[switch clicks]
-[engine revs]
[engine sputtering]
-Oh, no!
-Oh!
[sighs] Well, now I know what to ask Santa
to get me for Christmas.
Hmm. Okay, so here's the thing.
Maybe it's not so much
the scrumptious food or amazing gifts.
Ah, what else is there, bro?
Well, there's this one guy
who makes everyone feel good
about Christmas.
[sighs]
Oh-ho-ho! Angie.
Now, have you been a good girl, Angie?
Oh-ho! Ho-ho-ho-ho!
Hi, Ben, what's up?
This isn't Ben. This is Santa.
Ho-ho Whoa!
[Harmony meowing]
Ben I mean, Santa.
You okay, Santa?
Santa needs a moment.
We tried food, gifts, Santa.
And nothing's made Angie feel any better
about missing out on having Christmas
here in Motown.
I am totally out of ideas.
Maybe they'll have an idea.
ABC, easy as one, two, three.
Huh? Whoa!
Are you celebrating Christmas, too?
Christmas? What's that, Benny?
Oh, it's like, uh, a special day
when we celebrate, and eat good food
and spend time
with our family and friends.
Well, that sounds like
just about every day, ha-ha, around here.
But you can't have Christmas every day.
It don't have to be,
uh, what do you call it, Christmas
to feel Christmas-y. [chuckles]
I wouldn't need a Christmas tree
If you belonged to me ♪

But Christmas isn't for another
couple of days, right?

The best thing
about having the holiday spirit
is you can enjoy Christmas
anytime, anywhere, with anyone.

This is all I ever wanted.
Well, that
and a personal indoor skate park.
But spending time with you guys
was always at the top of my wish list.
Ah, okay, folks.
Time to power up the tree.
Even if it's a little early, and I hadn't
completed all the checks on my checklist.
[all] Hmm?
[all] Hmm?
[all] Whoa!
[all gasp and exclaim]
[horn honking]
Hey, you ready for the holidays, Ange?
I sure am, Dad.
That was the best
non-Christmas Christmas ever!
[chuckles] Merry Christmas, everyone!
[Rod] Whoa-oh! Oh, sorry folks,
that that's my bad.
My bad. My bad!
