Parenthood s05e13 Episode Script

Jump Ball

I don't want to go back.
Do you want me to stay? - Yeah.
- If my wife was still alive and she asked me to take a trip to Italy, I'd buy two first-class tickets and beat her ass to the airport.
I was reading this book for Max, and then all of a sudden I'm not reading about the kid anymore, I'm reading about me.
I was thinking that we should try and see a marriage counselor.
I don't want to see a marriage counselor because the marriage is not the problem.
The problem is you.
I know that if you let this kid go and you don't say good-bye, you're gonna regret it for the rest of your life.
but if you could just see the beauty these things I could never describe these pleasures a wayward distraction this is my one lucky prize isolation isolation isolation isolation Hey.
Scrambled eggs and bacon.
Who wants bacon? I want bacon.
You want bacon.
You want bacon? Where's dad? Dad, uh, had to go to work very early this morning, so But it's sign-up for the jog-a-thon at drop-off.
- I can sign you up.
- No, you can't.
Dad and Victor are running with team coyote.
You have to sign up in person to get your official apron number.
- Okay, well-- - He probably forgot.
He didn't forget, and I will sign you up and I will make sure that I get dad's official number.
No, you can't.
I know the rules, mom.
- Hey! - Dad? Mom said you had to go in to work early.
We thought you forgot about the jog-a-thon.
I wouldn't forget about that.
No, I went out to get doughnuts! - I call Boston cream! - I want Boston cream! - Boston cream.
There's plenty-- - That one's mine.
All right, you take that one.
I'll just take it to the table.
I got it first.
That's the one I wanted.
- Come on.
- Go get your plate.
Hello.
- Hey.
Hank.
- Hey.
Nice to see you.
What brings you up here today? Yeah, I was just, uh Just looking around my store.
I found that.
That shot I took a while back of Bob Dylan.
Oh, wow! - You took this? - Yeah.
- Yeah.
It was a while back.
- Wow.
- That's a great shot.
- I thought, you know, you could use it here at the recording studio is where it should be.
We can, for sure.
Thank you very much.
That's very generous of you.
Ah, it's nothing.
It's okay.
You know, while I'm here, Sarah told me that Max was going to this famous asperger's doctor.
Yeah, Dr.
Pelikan.
Yeah.
You got his number handy? Why, is something going on with Max? No, no.
No, no, no, no.
He's--Max is great.
He's doing great.
Good.
Yeah.
No, no.
It's--it's another matter.
Oh, yeah.
Uh, yeah.
You want me to just forward his contact info to you? You can just write it down.
Oh, okay.
All right.
Sure.
Just write it down for you.
Oh, my God.
I cannot believe you still have your model congress t-shirt.
I'm very proud of my fake senate run.
What? Thank you.
I'll fold this.
Dude, I think it's time to trash the evidence of your ninth-grade accomplishments.
- I have to agree with Berto.
- Well, I'm feeling harassed, but still proud.
It's my mom.
Hey, mom.
Yeah.
Yeah, it is.
It's snowing.
It's freezing here.
Your girlfriend hasn't told her parents that she didn't go back to Tufts? Uh, yeah, no.
Not yet.
Dude, this is getting weird.
It's been two weeks.
How long is she gonna stay? Yeah, I don't--I don't know.
We're figuring that out.
- Oh.
- Yeah.
- Home, sweet home.
- How's it feel? No, no, no.
Wait, wait, wait, wait.
Hold it.
Allow me.
You really missed me, hmm? You're telling me.
I missed you too.
Welcome home, sweetheart.
- Just the same.
- Well, uh A little different inside.
Surprise! - Whoo! - Welcome home! Hi, sweetie.
You look beautiful, mom! Love you.
Welcome back.
We missed you.
Mostaccioli! Hey, there.
Mwah, mwah! Mostaccioli.
Wow.
Amber, sweetie.
- Grandpa told me.
- Mom, she's fine.
- It's okay.
- Mom, mom, it's fine.
- Did you bring us presents? - Did I? Yes! Dolce per dei bambini.
Sweets for the children! - Yes! Oh, no.
Okay - Yes! - That's it--hey, hey.
That's for after dinner.
That's dessert.
That's for after dinner.
- Oh! - I'll tell you what.
I'll have four now, then four pieces of broccoli.
That's a deal.
No, that's a good deal.
Is it good to be back? Mm.
Oh, my gosh! Okay, you hold on to it.
We're gonna eat it later.
May God bless and keep you always and may your wishes all come true may you always do for others and let others do for you may you build a ladder to the stars and climb on every rung and may you stay forever young may you grow up to be righteous may you grow up to be true may you always know the truth and see the lights surrounding you may you always be courageous stand upright and be strong and may you stay forever young may you stay forever young Ugh, hey, guys.
Adam, Crosby, it's Amber.
Ugh.
I woke up with this really bad cough, cold thing.
I think I need a couple days to rest it off.
I'll check in soon and let you know how I'm feeling.
All right, I'll talk to you soon.
Bye.
Hey.
Amber just called in sick.
Oh, no.
I hope she's okay.
- Yeah, me too.
- What do you think? Is that where you're gonna hang it? Yeah.
Your mom worked so hard on it.
It's so cute.
Oh, hey, I forgot to tell you.
Hank stopped by the office the other day to drop off this Bob Dylan photograph that he took.
Oh, that's nice.
So nice.
Yeah, that's not what I'm gonna tell you, though.
Then he asked me for Dr.
Pelikan's phone number.
Okay.
Did something happen with Max? No, that's what I asked him.
But then he said it's for another matter.
Another matter.
And you're just telling me-- - yeah, and I'm guessing the other matter It's gotta be him, right? Hank.
Wait a second.
- What? - You think he has--what? I don't know, I mean, he's quirky.
- He's very quirky.
- Right? - And socially awkward.
- He's very focused.
He'll talk to Max about lenses for hours.
- Hours.
- Exposures for hours.
Cameras for hours.
Hours, yeah, I know.
- Just like bugs.
- But that doesn't mean he has-- - no, but I can't help but think that if he does, then maybe Max could turn out to be like him.
That's not so bad.
No.
Hank's had a business.
He's had relationships.
- Failed relationships.
- Well, he's had them.
He's had them.
With your sister.
Yeah, well - That was okay.
- He's got a daughter.
- He has a daughter.
- Right? Oh, yeah.
But they don't get along.
He's a father.
Well, she exists.
She does exist.
When I look at that, that's a pretty bright future for Max.
Hmm.
So - Are we - What? Hoping that he has asperger's? No.
No, of course not.
That'd-- I mean, maybe on some level.
- That would be unbelievable.
- That would be good.
- Wow.
- Yeah.
Hank.
- Hey.
- Hi.
Oh, you couldn't find a place for it? Oh, no, no, no, no, I love it.
I just-- I want to get it framed.
You want me to frame it? Uh, yeah.
I intend to pay you for it.
- All right.
- But I was thinking red would be real bold.
Kind of fun.
No, it's horrible.
Horrible choice, red.
You want to go simple.
Black.
Keep it simple.
Yeah, you know what, I think that's probably right.
- Yeah.
- Good thing I came to you.
All right, I gotta do a couple things here.
I guess I could get it to you later tonight, if that's all right.
That's fine.
That's fast.
That's great.
All right, I'll get on it later.
Okay.
Uh, hey, Hank.
Just so long as I'm here You don't happen to play poker, do you? Yeah, I play poker.
- Hello? - Hi.
How are you? Uncle Adam said you weren't feeling well, so I got you some chicken soup.
- Oh.
I'm not home right now.
- I know you're not at home, because I'm standing outside your door with a big pile of chicken soup.
Where are you? I'm at the drugstore.
I'm just getting some medicine and stuff, so maybe-- - Mm-hmm.
Okay, well, um, should I just wait for you, then? Um I'm not at the drugstore, mom.
Uhhuh.
Amber, what's going on? I don't know.
I'm--I'm driving around.
I'm at the beach right now.
Honey, where? What do you mean driving around? Uh, I don't know, mom.
Look, I'm worried about you.
You shouldn't just be out there driving around.
Let me meet you somewhere.
We'll have a soup or something.
I don't really know, mom.
I just need to be alone right now.
Amber, I just worry about you.
You shouldn't be in the car if you're upset.
I'll be safe.
I promise, okay? You sound terrible.
This makes me very worried.
Just come home.
I gotta do this, okay? But I'll talk to you soon.
I'm gonna call you in an hour.
Those kids are wiped out.
Well, they were really happy that you were home tonight to put 'em to bed.
Are we just not gonna talk about it? Talk about what? About where you slept the other night? - Seriously? - I have a right to know where you've slept.
You know, I didn't- I didn't make this mess, Julia.
I didn't--I didn't make it.
Okay, I'm Believe me, I wish I could go back and I could do things differently, but I never just didn't come home.
I, uh I went to the trailer and I got drunk and passed out.
What are we doing? What are we doing? Um I--you know, I don't know.
I don't know.
I know what I'm doing.
Um I've got, uh, an 8:00 A.
M.
I'm meeting with Peet to go over the grounds.
At 4:00 I've got to train with Victor for a jog-a-thon, and, oh, this is gonna be great.
Poker with your brothers tomorrow night.
You don't have to go to that.
I don't have to go? That's not gonna be a big issue.
The Braverman hotline won't be ringing off the hook or anything like that.
We got enough rumors flying around.
I don't know, Julia.
I don't know what we're doing with our lives.
I've just got to.
Just gotta get on with mine.
Gosh, you woke up early.
- Yeah, it's 10:00.
- Right.
Well, okay.
So what are we gonna do today? Oh, uh, this gal I met on the trip, she pinged me.
She's at MOMA for the Lucian Freud exhibit.
I know it's bad timing, but she's only here for the one night and I wanted to see the show anyway, so, you know, if it's okay with you Yeah, yeah, sure, well, I got stuff to do around here.
It's okay, yeah.
Well, I'll be home way before dinner.
I'll fix us something lovely.
- Okay, well, have fun.
- Okay.
Thanks for understanding.
- Yeah.
- All right.
See ya.
Buongiorno.
So, you know, I've been that way just for as long as my earliest memory.
Five, six, whatever it was.
I just kind of decided vegetables had to be on the left side of the plate and things had to be just a certain way or I just completely freaked out.
But I got better, though.
Over the years, I got better.
I mean, still, I basically have two gears.
I completely shut down or I go for it.
Tenacious was the word that my ex-wife used to describe me when we were married.
Later it was "bulldog.
" Or "bully.
" Or something worse than that, you know, but, hey, I'm sure a lot of people would describe their exes like that.
- Yes, they would.
- Yeah.
But anyway, so I was reading a book that Adam gave me on Asperger's, and something clicked.
Hmm.
Yeah, I mean, I don't want to have Asperger's.
You know, come on, it's just Anyway, so I took the test.
I took the test online.
Oh, you didn't say you took the test.
How did you score? Yeah, I didn't tell you that? Yeah, I did.
I scored, uh, high.
40 Something like that.
But it's an online test.
How accurate can that be? It can be pretty accurate.
How do you think that these behaviors affect other parts of your life, besides the relationship with your ex-wife? Well, I have a very successful business, I-I I had to downsize last year.
That's because I moved to Minnesota, though, to be with my daughter.
Mmhmm.
Yeah, I mean, it didn't work out.
Eh I guess, uh, I guess Things could be better with Ruby, my daughter.
I guess I want to know if there's a reason why I've been blowing it with the people that I just care about the most in my life.
You know? If I know, then maybe Maybe I can stop blowing it.
You know? Maybe I can change.
Well Asperger's is neurological.
And sometimes knowing that you have it can not only be a relief but a path to acquiring tools for healthier social relationships moving forward.
What are you saying, then? You're saying that I do have it.
It's impossible to know in an hour.
I'd need to spend more time with you, I'd have you take some tests.
Look, I know, I know, you got your methods and all, but I'm not gonna spend thousands of dollars.
I'm just--can't you just-- just ballpark it for me, you know, give me-- what's your gut on this? My gut Is that it's a jump ball.
The spectrum is very wide.
I can't tell you that you definitely have Asperger's.
I got it.
I know, I know.
I know what jump ball means.
You know, not that asperger's-y.
Yeah.
I get it.
Can't tell me that I do, and you can't tell me that I don't.
Drew.
Drew, hold up.
Hey.
- You're, like, running.
- No, I'm not.
Away from me.
Yes, you are.
Are you kidding? The Professor didn't even finish giving us details for tonight and you're, like, halfway out the door.
- I left my notes in-- - High School girlfriend? In your dorm room? Look, I told you I didn't want a relationship.
You don't have to be awkward around me.
I'm not awkward around you.
Okay, fine.
'Cause I miss you.
I miss you too.
- Um, so I'll meet you tonight at 9:00? For the bus.
Grizzly peak.
Are you doing this hike tonight? Oh, I haven't deci-- is that mandatory? No, but Drew, come on.
We're taking astronomy.
The earth is, like, intersecting with a comet tonight.
Yeah.
Yeah, I don't really know what that means.
I'm really bad at science.
Yeah, me neither.
I'm glad to hear you don't either.
Yeah, well, there's gonna be an awesome meteor shower.
I've never seen one.
Have you? No.
They happen every year, though.
Okay.
No, that's cool.
Just go do laundry with your High School girlfriend.
I get it.
Yeah, Berto mentioned the whole laundry thing.
It's precious, though.
Yeah, sounds like it.
He's not very loyal, but-- No, he's just in college.
So are you.
Come on, man.
You invited Hank.
- Yes.
- Sarah's ex-boyfriend Hank.
- Hank-Hank.
- Yeah.
What? We're always looking for guys to invite to the poker game.
Yeah, normal guys.
What is that supposed to mean? Look, I like Hank, don't paint me out to be a bad guy for stating the obvious.
Which is what? That he is a little weird.
He doesn't make eye contact, he mumbles, he is not a good conversationist.
Minimally, we can agree on that.
Well, not everybody is a master of social interaction, Crosby.
Okay, I'm not asking that he be a master of social interaction, I'm just saying he could be Not a freak and we could maybe all have some beers and some cigars Look, Crosby, I invited him.
- Joke about sex - You invite guys all the time.
Yes, I invite guys who get it.
He gets it.
He plays poker.
He's coming.
That's it.
Deal with it.
Whoa, hey, what are you so revved up about? He has been a godsend for Max, and I think that you could be a little nicer about including somebody who might be slightly different.
That's all.
That's my problem.
I feel like some old engine that's lost my driving wheel Feel like some old engine that's lost my driving wheel some old engine that's lost my driving wheel I feel like some old engine that's lost my driving wheel Zeek? - Yeah.
- Honey, I'm back.
I'm in here.
Hey.
Oh, I am so sorry that I'm so late.
The B.
A.
R.
T.
was all messed up.
No, that's all right.
That's all right.
Did you have fun? Oh Lucian Freud is just amazing.
- Hmm.
- His paintings, they're just so rich and layered, visceral, erotic.
You'd really love him.
Hmm.
Oh, shoot.
I didn't realize we don't have any food.
Yeah.
Well, that's okay, Millie.
Well, I could throw something together.
Maybe some tuna fish? No, honey, sweetheart.
We're going out tonight.
I'm taking you to dinner.
I made a reservation at Tivoli's.
- Tivoli's.
- Mm-hmm.
It'smolto costoso.
Very expensive.
Yeah.
And it's Italian.
Just you and me.
And I insist.
Okay.
You can use my I.
D.
Card just to swipe in and out of the dorm.
Okay.
And then if there's any problem just call Berto, and he can sign you in as a guest.
Oh, wait, also you can Um, yeah, you can get breakfast with this.
You just scan it at the dining hall.
Okay, or I have some money, so I can just get a bagel or whatever.
What time are you getting back? Well, we're watching the meteor, so we're just gonna stay in a hotel.
'Cause it's late.
Oh, you're not coming back until tomorrow? Yeah, no.
What? What's wrong? Amy, I'm I'm worried about you, you know? You've been missing a lot of class.
I can't go back.
To Tufts? What do you mean? I hate it there.
I mean, the girls are snobby and cold, and the weather's depressing, and everyone is so smart.
- So are you.
- Yeah, well, not like them.
And my roommate is awful to me.
The roommate thing is difficult.
I understand.
I mean, look at that poster.
At least yours talks to you.
Mine doesn't even say hello to me.
She acts like I don't exist.
Switch roommates.
You don't understand.
What? I started to feel alone, like Like scary alone.
So you're not gonna go back? I can't.
I can't go back.
'Cause the one thing that got me out of that scary alone place was you.
You're the only thing that makes sense to me right now.
You're kind of all I have.
Hi! What a surprise.
Hi! - Hi.
- What's going on? - Um - Uh-oh.
I had a friend A friend.
But he kissed me.
And.
Wait, he kissed you? He kissed me.
And you didn't kiss him back? I don't-- I probably should've pulled away a half a second earlier Than I did.
But I c-- it's n--it's--we're not even friends anymore, you know? It was just, like, a And then I thought that I should tell Joel.
But then when I told him, he didn't come home.
He slept at work is what he said.
- For how long? - Just for one night, but I don't know, his boss is also-- I don't know, if you met her or saw her Do you think there's something going on? I don't-- I hope Not, but his reaction was so Dramatic to mine that I don't know if he's trying to justify something on his end.
I think that might've just been a shock that you let a half a second too long go by, but I don't think that it's irreparable.
I think he sounds like he got really mad, and - Yeah.
- That makes sense.
And he needed some time away, and that makes sense.
I hope you're right.
That's-- that's what I'm hoping.
I just-- - Julia, people have their ups and downs and make mistakes, and I just can't imagine that Joel won't forgive you and understand.
All you have is not gonna go away because of half a second.
Yeah.
I really hope you're right.
I'm glad to hear you say that.
I just don't want him to leave me.
You know? Who's gonna leave you? Nobody's gonna leave you.
- Okay, okay.
Thank you.
- No.
Gimme a hug.
You just made a little mistake, that's all.
Yeah.
Thank you.
Now, uh You been over to Donnie's? No, I haven't been over to Donnie's.
I haven't been anywhere, as I've told you the last 47 times.
Just got here a couple hours ago, so Yeah, well, you gotta go over to Donnie's.
They get great bands and they got a mechanical bull.
- Oh, my gosh.
- Yeah.
'Cause you and me, you know, we could go over there and dance and ride the bull.
Mm.
You know what? I think a move is a good idea.
In fact, I think I'm gonna move down to this end of the bar.
And you can stay here Jason.
Jason.
It's been so nice.
You just have the best life, okay? Come on, now.
It seems like I bought you three drinks.
Oh, you bought me three drinks? So you think I'm gonna have sex with you? Wow.
Do you think I owe you something? No.
Think we're gonna fall in love tonight? All I'm saying is I think we're getting along, you know? Think we're getting along? This is what getting along is? I thought it was more like I've just been sitting here letting you talk at me and say a bunch of stupid crap that I don't care about for, like, two hours.
That's sort of what I'm getting from this whole scenario.
You know what? You're a little bitch, aren't you? I'm a little bitch? I'm a little bitch? - Yeah.
- I'm a little bitch? - Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa! - What the hell? - What now, Jason? - Whoa, calm down! Looks like you're the bitch now, doesn't it? - Jason, calm down.
- Throw her outta here.
- Yeah, Jason, calm down.
- And you--I think it's time for you to go.
It's not my fault.
I'm not the one who's harassing everybody at the bar! Amber! You know this girl? Yeah, he knows me.
It's all right, guys.
I'm gonna go.
You guys have a really good night.
Shouldn't be here anyway.
Hey, take her easy, would you, Jason? Good luck, man.
- Hey, Amber.
- Just leave me alone! What is going on? I'm trying to just get to my car.
Just wanna go home.
You're not driving.
You're drunk.
I'm fine! I'm not drunk! Just stop! I'm trying to just go home.
Gimme the keys.
Stop it! You know about drinking and driving, you stupid asshole! Look, no matter what you think about me as a father, I am not gonna let you drive drunk.
Stop it! It's really ironic that you're trying to talk to me about drinking and driving.
Just back off, okay, just you and your stupid-ass movements about being a father.
All of a sudden you want to take care of me! You don't know anything about me, man! Just--just back off! Screw you! You don't know anything.
This is your fault anyway! My fault? How is it my fault? I don't even know what the hell's going on! It's your fault! Okay? Because my fiancé left me! And I loved him, and now he's gone, okay? So you're mad at me because you think you're gonna marry somebody like me, right? No.
No, that's not why! - Why? - It's because--because you're-- because I'm afraid I'm-- I'm like you! I'm afraid I'm exactly like you, in the middle of nowhere at some stupid bar.
I was standing in the Palazzo Comunale in Montepulciano when it hit me The grandiosity of the world.
Its sheer beauty Magnitude How little I know of it.
How much I want to know.
Yeah, I don't--it's kind of a crapshoot, though, isn't it? I mean, you're standing there in all these beautiful places, and then at the same time, you're missing Amber's breakup and, you know, Kristina's election thing.
Well, that's true.
How'd she take it? How'd she take the loss? Well, she was beautiful.
I mean, she She just handled it with grace.
Of course.
I mean, she's gonna do something.
Yeah, I think you're right.
And that's the other thing about going away.
You realize that life just goes on without you, you're not really needed.
Oh, come on.
Honey, you are so needed.
Yeah, well No, I don't mean it in a bad way, it's It's liberating.
Means I can go away again.
Again? You're gonna-- you're going away again? Well, the class is taking a trip to France in three months in April.
Three months? I know this is a big change for us.
And I understand why you don't want to sell the house.
I really do.
But I'm not ready to give up my dream.
I'm just not.
Because it's my dream.
And, um, I thought about it a lot when I was away, and I figured out that if I work at the studio part time, I could probably make about $300 a week, which means at the end of three months I would have enough to cover most of the cost of the trip.
Well, that--that is-- okay.
Well, you got it all figured out.
And that's good.
Yeah.
Seth.
Hey.
I'm just calling because I thought you needed to know that Amber's up here with me.
What? What is she doing there? Oh, getting out some anger at her old man.
Well, she had a bad breakup.
- Yeah, she mentioned that.
- Okay, I'll--I'm on the way.
No, no, no, you don't have to do that.
She's--she's sleeping.
She was definitely upset when she got here, but she's okay now.
Seth, how did she even know where you are? I don't have your address.
She just showed up at my work.
Listen, I know My track record isn't exactly stellar, and I don't deserve this opportunity, but I'd like to try.
Try what? Be her dad.
Yeah.
Definitely.
Just tell her to call me, okay? And you call me.
Call me tomorrow and tell me what's going on.
Of course I will.
Call me tomorrow, Seth.
Hey, Sarah, thank you.
Bye.
All right, boys, what do you say we change the game to spice things up a little bit, huh? Please, spice it up.
The spice is just fine for me.
I gotta be honest with you.
Mt.
Everest over here wants to keep things just how they were.
- Deuces and 5s are wild.
- Ooh! Dirty duck 25.
Yes, please.
Dirty duck 25.
We're gonna play wild cards? We're not playing wild cards, right? Dealer's choice.
It's house rules.
Yeah, but this is a real game, though.
We're playing a real game here, right? Well, you know, we like to loosen it up towards the end of the night.
- Wild cards, though? Yeah.
- Yeah.
Duck, duck 25.
Towards-Of the night.
If he calls deuces and 5s wild, deuces and 5s are wild.
Mmhmm.
- Double-d 25.
- What about you? Seriously, I know, look, I called you a donkey before.
I apologize for that 'cause you're obviously a serious player.
You want to play wild cards? I honestly don't care.
Sorry.
Well, everybody should have- should have a vote or something, right? Hank, why don't you let it go? Okay, okay, you know what? Everybody's entitled to their opinion, but dealer's choice-- - just deal the cards.
Just-- - We're good with wilds.
It's a game my daughter could play, but how could you not care? I guess I just don't.
Okay, let's play, let's play, let's play.
Here we go.
I'm gonna sit this one out.
I'm gonna sit it out.
What do you mean you're gonna sit this out? - I'm gonna sit it out too.
- No, no, hey, hey.
Joel, don't sit out.
You sit out just 'cause he's sitting out? Just let him sit out.
Just let him sit out.
Sometimes a guy needs to take a break.
No, sometimes a guy shouldn't take a break.
If a guy-- if the going gets tough, that's the time to double down - Oh, please.
- And you stay in it.
'Cause that's when you win.
Otherwise you lose your shirt.
Never double down with wild cards.
I don't need a speech.
I don't need a speech, thank you.
I just--I don't need that.
Um I don't know what the hell I'm doing here.
Sorry, guys.
Joel.
Nobody likes wilds.
You know what, I'm outta here too.
This is ridiculous.
I don't need this either.
- Let's just take a break.
- All right, we'll see ya.
We can play four.
Crosby, you want to go to Cheetah's? I would love to go to Cheetah's, but I've got a baby that's gonna wake up in five hours, so All right, anyone else? They got two-for-one well drinks tonight.
I'm not gonna go.
Say hello to peppermint, though.
Guys, I'm gonna go too, man.
Yeah, kids, you know.
Might as well call it a night.
Oh, my God, this is pathetic.
I am never, ever having kids.
M'kay? Guys, we can still play.
Just take a break.
Game's over.
Throw in the towel.
That's where you hung it, huh? Yeah.
Looks good there, right? Be better over there.
People see it as soon as they'd come in then.
What, right there? Well, that's-- we got the Janis there already.
- Yeah But the Janis looks like some kid at a concert took it.
Right, well, you know what, we can switch 'em.
Crosby's real fond of that Janis portrait, but - Yeah.
- It's all good.
You know what, apologize to him, really, for me.
I didn't mean to ruin the game.
You didn't ruin the game.
Your brother-in-law too.
Apologize about the wilds.
I got a little bit tenacious there.
But wilds, why? I mean, it takes strategy out of the game.
What are we here for, you know? And it wasn't about the wilds.
My brother-in-law has some other stuff going on.
So don't worry about it.
It wasn't you.
You like cubanos? What, cigars? - Yeah.
- Yeah.
Didn't mention these before, 'cause I only brought two.
Secret stash.
Thank you very much.
Got those from a guy who owns an alligator.
Wait a minute, don't-- let me clip it.
Listen Remember the other day I came by for Dr.
Pelikan's number? Yeah, for the other thing.
Yeah, the other thing.
The other thing is me.
What? You? Yeah.
Yeah.
I've been thinking that maybe I might have some of those asperger's qualities.
You didn't notice anything? No, uh-uh.
Not at all.
I mean, maybe a little bit with the wild card thing.
I'm kidding.
So what did Dr.
Pelikan have to say? Jump ball.
Could have it, could not.
Hmm.
Jump ball.
