Season 2, Episode 1

1 Oh oh oh (PLAYERS SHOUT) COMMENTATOR 1: Well, you can feel the pressure on the Southern Jets coming into this season, with long-time coach Brian Rickards making the decision to step down after spectacularly crashing out of the finals.
COMMENTATOR 2: Yeah, that's right, DP.
They'll be looking for a fresh start under their new coach, former player Travis Cochrane, but the big news is the signing of superstar power forward Liam Flynn, who's returned home to Melbourne, and will be making his first official appearance for the Southern Jets tonight at their launch.
(CAMERAS CLICK) Boy, you got to be pretty blind not to see the signs Whoa You started up a fire Now you know I'm gonna burn it down Whoa You've been underestimating every single part of me Whoa Everything I wanted was a dream that will never be Whoa I never thought you'd go back on your promise You always said you would show me what love is Never find a better love, no You'll never find a better love Baby, you're living in a world that you've created Sleeping in a bed just how you made it Heavy lies the head Tell me what you did Whoa, baby.
(REPORTERS CLAMOUR) - Hi.
- Kath, how are you enjoying sitting on the Southern Jets board? Oh, it's an absolute honour.
You don't feel there are people more qualified for the job? No, and I doubt anyone in the club thinks that, either.
- Thank you! - (REPORTERS CLAMOUR) Shut down! I'm so looking forward to this season.
Whoa oh oh.
(MUSIC PLAYS, CHATTER) Oh, I love the smell of a season launch.
- I cannot smell anything.
- It's raw hunger.
- Possibility.
- Dubious cologne choices.
- OK, we are going to need some drinks.
- Hmm.
Where's Tahlia? It's like I'm watching them have sex, and they're not even touching.
I thought you were a party person.
Normally, yeah.
Actually, I'd kill for a drink.
Well, I won't tell if you don't.
Is this how you usually welcome the new players? Is this some kind of preferential treatment? You tell me.
This is one of her tests, right? This is definitely a test.
I don't know, she might be about to send his girlfriend a bunch of ridiculously small dresses.
Girlfriend, Liam's got a girlfriend, right? - Kath? - Hmm, sorry? - Liam's girlfriend.
- Oh, yeah, Kendall.
She's, uh, I think she's flying in from Perth tomorrow.
That's all I've got, that's it.
She's not on socials or anything.
- Obviously just likes to keep to herself.
- Hmm, curious.
A ghost, I like it.
Shit! Ahem, so How do you Yeah.
- Guess what? - What, he failed? No, almost! It's Paige! She has changed her flights, and she is on her way home now! (ALL SQUEAL) I know! (GRUNTS) REPORTER 1: So many unknowns for the Southern Jets this year, and it'll be interesting to see how interim president John Manidi handles it all.
REPORTER 2: Well, he managed to sign Liam Flynn so he's got my vote.
No arguments there.
Seemingly the deal of the century for a team that's had its fair share of troubles recently.
(PHONE RINGS) - Hey.
- Hey! - You're up early this morning.
- Yeah, wanted to get a bit of a head start.
Oh, just checking in.
I've got a meeting with John this morning.
You know he's going to ask me the same thing.
Yeah.
Look, I know I've been dragging my feet a bit, but, um I'm meeting him for a beer later.
I mean, you are gonna accept it, right? That's what we discussed.
It is, I just Last time we talked about the job, you weren't sold.
Yeah.
You were right.
- Head of football, it's a great fit.
- It is, it is.
Just don't come on too strong, you know? You can afford to go back and forth a little bit.
Play a little bit of hardball.
Just see what you can get.
- OK, good luck.
- OK.
(SIGHS) - Thanks for breakfast! - Yeah, thanks, Mum! - Good monkeys.
- (PHONE RINGS) Ha! If this is about Paige coming back today, then I am all across it! Mads! And if her and Dan are getting back together, then champagne, confetti, everyone goes home with a car! I'm calling with another agenda, actually.
Oh! I'm listening, I am.
Go.
Have you had a chance to reach out to Liam's girlfriend yet? Um, in terms of priority, does that belong in the "urgent" pile, or the "right now" pile? Uh, right now, 'cause they're both coming to Dan's 21st tonight.
- Would you like me to - No, no, no.
No, no, should come from me, I'm the coach's wife.
I don't want her to feel unwelcome just because I'm too busy to pick up the phone.
OK, I appreciate that.
I've got my hands full with the new club president at the moment.
Oh, I thought he was temporary.
Well, he's doing everything in his power to change that.
OK, I'll speak to you later.
Good morning! (TALKING INDISTINCTLY) Then I met you downtown Hey, hey You rolled in like a limousine And of all the things you could have done You moved on Can I run to you like you're running to me? Can I fall into you like you fall into me? - (SCREAMS) - Oh, baby! Yeah! Hmm.
- Cool, huh? - Cute.
- Ah! - So, you get paid for the campaign, - and you get to keep the car? - Uh-huh.
Plus, you know, some appearances and posts.
You your clothes are on the whole time? - Sorry! Sorry.
- Of course they're on! Listen, my entire life at the moment is run on paid sponsorships.
My outgoings are pretty much nil.
- So, the Barossa was ? - Free.
- And Bali? - Free.
- (EXHALES) - Mm-hmm.
I'm winning the break-up with Connor, and it's not even costing me anything! There's a competition? There's always a competition.
This stinks, and it's wet.
Oh, yeah, it's my body in liquid form, so ALL: Surprise! - And you were travelling? - Yeah, I ticked them all off.
Pisa, Eiffel Tower.
Oh, I drank vodka with Russians.
- Ah! - But you're back for good now, right? Yeah.
I got a full-time job.
- Oh, congratulations! - Congrats! - Cheers! - So, it has nothing to do with Dan.
- No.
- Really? - You're not getting back together with him? - Oh, no! - No! - Nothing to do with Dan at all? So, I moved my flights to come home for his 21st early, but that's it.
- Right.
- Guys, you know I love Dan, but not dating a professional footy player's been the happiest I've been in a while.
Oh, no offence.
Sorry.
We're just happy that you're happy.
But you are still gonna hang out with us, right? Yeah, I'll just be your non-glam incognito mate.
- (LAUGHS) - Someone that we can send out at 10am - to buy us booze.
- Oh, and blame for minor misdemeanours! As long as I can still work with children, yeah.
So, I'm really glad you're back, and I cannot wait to get drunk with y'all, but I got to go put a baby down.
Oh! Georgie! Uh, I can't wait to meet her! Yeah, she's perfect.
You're gonna fall in love.
Bye, hos.
- Bye! - Who cares? OK, big question.
What are you gonna wear tonight? Literally everything I own is in that bag, and you felt it, so unless the dress code is 'moist' I can style you? - It's that or I'm going naked.
- Yes! You don't need a reservation To take a little break Go and choose your destination I'mma navigate Shit! I know the shapewear's tight, - but you've got to wear it with that outfit.
- Oh, no, um a present a present in the car.
- We'll wait.
- Oh, no, it's fine.
I'll just be two secs.
OK.
- Let's go.
- I'm checking your condition Terminally fine Fly.
- (GRUNTS) Fuck! - Paige? (LAUGHS AWKWARDLY) - Hi! - Hey! Ahem.
I thought you said you couldn't make it back.
Well, yeah, um, I changed my flight, so 200 bucks and a 15-hour layover in Kuala Lumpur.
Paige, that's amazing.
- Do you want to head in? - Yeah, I, um I left your present in there.
- Yeah, did you need a hand? - Nah, all good.
- You sure? - Yeah, no, all good.
It's your party, go on! All right, well, um, we'll catch up inside.
I'll see you in there.
- G'day, Brian.
- John.
Mate.
How's retirement? Doing a bit of fishing, playing a lot of golf.
Uh, two Nicko's Pale Ale, thanks, mate.
You settling in OK? Took me a while to get my head around the mess that Andrew left behind, but we got a lot going right heading into the season.
- Yeah, I'm hearing great things.
- Yeah.
I'm curious, mate.
How did you get Flynn in under the salary cap? Well, apparently he's homesick.
Got a mum who's getting older.
And I can be very persuasive.
Speaking of which, I want you, Brian, for the head of football.
Tell me how to make it happen.
I got to warn you, mate.
Kath's told me to play hardball.
Better make that a whisky, then.
(SONG PLAYS IN SPANISH) (INDISTINCT CHATTER) Well, this is sad.
He's trying so hard, but it's so obvious that she's so not into him! Yeah, yeah.
Hot, emotionally unavailable footballer must be so much of a turn-off, hey? So, how did you go with Kendall? I swear, I tried to call.
I left a lot of messages.
At one point, I thought, "I've slipped over into stalker territory here.
" I'm sure it'll be fine.
- I'll get you some drinks.
- No, come here.
- Liam, hi! - Kath, - So good to see you.
- hey.
You too.
Uh, hi, you must be Kendall.
I'm Kath.
This is Maddy, Trav's wife.
- Oh, you're the chick who kept calling me! - What's that? I, um I just wanted to reach out to welcome you to the club.
I'm really sorry if I overstepped - the mark at all.
- No, no, no, no, no! Honestly, it's fine.
It's just, you know, couple of afternoon mimosas, little beagle brain went off.
Beagle brain? Yeah, you know, like the sniffer dogs, but it's my brain.
- You don't have to do this - (BARKS) Like, "Who's this chick?!" - (LAUGHS) - "Why is she calling me?" Like, "What's she heard about me?" So I just had to shut it down.
I see a professional for the exact same reason.
(LAUGHS) I'm just so sorry we didn't reach out any sooner.
We're just a bit scant on details, weren't we? - We couldn't find you online.
- Oh, yeah, no, I don't have social media.
Learned that the hard way.
- Just a little self-imposed ban.
- Ah, I see.
Well, look, if there's anything we can do to help you out settling in Thanks, Kath, we appreciate that.
We're just stoked to be back in Melbourne, aren't we, baby? - Hells yeah.
- Yeah! You bitches good for a drink? - No, good.
- No, I'm all good.
- Cool.
- Yeah! I really like her.
- Yeah.
- Yeah.
(BABY COOS) - Hey! - (GIGGLES) Hi, you gonna be a good girl while Mummy goes out, Georgie? - (COOS) - Yeah, you gonna go to sleep? (COOS) There you go.
Here it comes together! (MAKES CRASHING SOUND) OK, little man.
Your sister's finally down for the count, and I'm off.
Right? You gonna be good? - If you need anything at all - I have both your numbers.
Great, OK.
Well, you be good, buddy.
Bye, Mum.
Beautiful.
Bye, Dad! Bye, Daddy! You two have a great night! - I should clarify that - Whoa, hang on, hang on.
I mean, what are you gonna say? There are a couple of key bullet points that come to mind.
Yeah, well, I mean, you know, it's just a big conversation and we're running really, really late.
OK, but if you were weird about this, you'd tell me, right? Yeah, of course.
Come on.
(INDISTINCT CHATTER) Hi, hubby! Hey, wifey.
She's pretty.
Who is she? Neela.
You know her name, do you? I tend to know the name of the people I speak with.
(SNICKERS) You're jealous.
Jealous? Please, this is fun for me, watching you get rejected.
- Oh, I'm not getting rejected.
- Really? Did you ever think that maybe I'm the one doing the rejecting? Well, if that's true, you don't mind if I go and ask her a few questions? Go for it.
(INAUDIBLE) Well, that escalated! Wow! (MUSIC PLAYS) OK, so you haven't come back, which means I'm calling it.
You officially won.
Thank you! I didn't know you were interested in women.
I've dated men and women.
Huh! So, there's a genuine connection there? Sure! I'm just just checking that, does she know that she's, like, some kind of prize in a weird sexual competition between you and Connor? Uh, my friend thinks that I'm taking advantage of you.
Oh, well, that's sweet.
Oh! - Hey.
- Hey.
How how's your night? If it's going half as well as Tahlia's, you're probably doing all right.
Yeah, it's a bit weird, actually.
I I didn't think I'd be sober at my own 21st.
- Hmm.
- How's yours? Oh, I'm enjoying the drinking.
- Did you - What? Are those foils? Yeah, well, I got a couple of sponsorship deals now.
Oh! Very fancy! - Yeah, I mean, I like 'em.
- Yeah! They accentuate your natural highlights.
- Yeah, I think they do, actually.
- Yeah.
Well, uh, what are you up to tomorrow? Do you want to grab a coffee, or I mean, you can tell me about your trip, and we can discuss my hair.
I'm actually thinking about getting a perm.
(LAUGHS) Don't you have training, or rehab or a group ice bath or something? No, it's the end of pre-season so it's just - a bit of light stuff and I'm done.
- Hmm.
Oi, Fletch, I think it's time to - Hello, Rus! - Paige! - Hi! - Hi, how are you? - I'm good, how are you? - I'm good! Sorry to interrupt, but Fletch, mate, they want you in there to cut the cake, so Well, I'll just see you inside.
Um, yeah, like tomorrow arvo, about about two? Yeah, good, no, yeah.
Cool, yeah, no, let's catch up! OK.
Let's eat cake.
- Gonna eat the cake.
- Yeah.
ALL: Happy birthday to you Happy birthday to you I know I'm never gonna lie to you Happy birthday, dear Fletcher I waste my time There's a lot of fun in your eyes That I've never found in mine I know I can never ever show you But there's always night-time I wish it wasn't just the night-time I wish it wasn't just the night-time I wish it wasn't just the night-time Ah ah ah ah.
(PARTYGOERS CHEER) There's gasoline in your heart Hey, there he is! Rickards! Happy birthday, Fletch.
Sorry I'm late.
I'm just glad you're here.
- Brian.
- Rus.
So, I heard a little whisper that you might be joining us this year.
- Don't count your chickens.
- I told ya he wasn't going anywhere.
Yeah, well, I never thought he was.
Let's get you a drink.
(COUGHS, SPITS) - You're Jessie Davies.
- Yeah, I am.
- Hello.
- Hi.
Who are you? I'm gonna let you in on a little secret.
Nobody gives a fuck.
Hey, um you don't have any gear, do you? - Gear? - Coke.
No, I don't.
Well, I mean, there's got to be some around here, right? Yeah, right.
Well, worth a shot, eh? (MUSIC PLAYS) Yeah, give me a call anytime.
Oh! - Hey.
- Hey.
How are you? Keeping my arms inside the vehicle.
Behaving myself.
You? - No complaints.
- (LAUGHTER) So, what was that face for? Go on, ask! - My contract's up at the end of the year.
- Mm-hmm.
I assume Flynn didn't come cheap.
You worried you're being offloaded? Am I? You play good footy, and you've got nothing to worry about.
Excuse me.
Hey! How are you? Come on, let's have a drink.
I mean, obviously it was unsettling, but Rus and I both knew eventually we'd have to explain our situation to the outside world.
- But you're making it work.
- Yeah, I thought so, but the last thing I want is him hanging around because of some sort of misguided obligation.
- You OK? - Yeah.
Um, that girl over there, she's staring at us.
- Really? At the same time? - Oh, that's Liam's girlfriend.
- Is that Kendall? - Yeah, she's the new you.
- I don't remember looking that angry.
- More bewildered.
She's pretty upfront, but I'm sure that she's lovely once you get to know her.
Good, 'cause she's coming over right now.
- Oh, hey, Kendall.
- What did you tell them? - What? - Sorry, um, this is Jessie, and this is Paige.
- I'm not sure you've met.
- Uh, I'm good.
You were talking about me.
What did you tell 'em? That I'm lactating, and I should probably go pump my breasts.
I saw you talking shit about me, and I wanna know what you said! - I didn't say anything.
- I'm sorry, Kendall, I think there's been a little misunderstanding.
- Paige here just asked me who you were.
- I'm so good to stay out of this one.
And I was just saying that you were Liam's girlfriend, and you'd just arrived from Perth.
- So you were talking about me.
- I didn't.
No, Jessie was not talking about you.
I was the one that Why do you keep getting involved?! - Because I am trying to set the story straight.
- Bullshit! You're covering for her! If she has something to say to me, she can say it to my face! - How are we going? - I mean, they're all talking shit about me.
Mate, you got the wrong end of the stick here.
OK, let's just keep our voices down, shall we? Don't tell me what to do.
- Kendall, I think it's time to go home.
- I think it's time - that you go get fucked! - Oi! Babe, what's up? They're all a pack of lying sluts.
- OK! - OK, let's go home.
- Of course you'd take their fucking side! - Hey! Babe! - I'm so sorry.
- No, no, it's OK.
Hey, Kendall! Wow! I'm on it.
It's under control.
Ugh! So, how was your night? It was amazing! It was beautiful and spiritual.
My only regret is that no-one got to see it.
I'm sure you could make a lot of money if you wanted to change that.
So, what did I miss? Um, Maddy and Jessie got in a fight with the new guy's girlfriend.
What? Oh, good shit always happens when you leave early.
And, uh, Dan asked me to have coffee with him today.
Why? I don't know.
Well, in my experience, an ex only ever wants to catch up for three reasons.
Hmm? And they are - He's got an STI.
- (LAUGHS) Mate, we were together a really long time.
He's seeing someone.
Uh Wouldn't I have met her at the party? - Or he wants to get back together.
- No! No.
I get you want to fix things with Liam's girlfriend, but isn't it something you could fix over the phone? I wish that was possible, but the woman never answers my calls.
I think she's one of those people that never listens to her voicemail.
Maybe she lost the phone.
Mm-hmm, or it's some sort of sadistic torture.
OK, if you take Abi to squad this morning, - I can pick up Mitchell tonight.
- Uh, yeah, sure.
Where do we stand on dental check-ups? Six months or 12? - I was thinking - Yeah, yeah, yeah, right, non-essential.
OK, how would you feel if I cancelled dinner with your mother? Are you serious? I don't think I can make it work.
- You got to do what you got to do.
- I do.
Yeah.
Mm, mm.
This is not an allocated time.
- Allo ? (SIGHS) - Sorry.
Oh, hey! OK, see you later! - See ya.
- Bye.
(ENGINE REVS, LOUD MUSIC PLAYS) (ENGINE SHUTS OFF) - Morning, mate.
- Hi, Liam.
- KATH: Liam! Hey! - Morning, Kath.
- I left you a few messages.
- Yeah, I know.
I know you have a lot to handle, but after last night I didn't really think that was any of your business, Kath.
I'm sorry? It was between me and Kendall, so whatever Jessie told you, honestly, like it can wait.
Well, nothing, actually, not yet.
I thought I'd give you an opportunity to explain first, but if you'd prefer, we could do things in a more official capacity.
The first thing you should know is that I'm handling it.
OK, handling what, exactly? Last night, Kendall thought that Jessie was telling everyone she's on cocaine.
And why would she think that? 'Cause she asked Jessie for drugs.
- Liam, that is not acceptable.
- I know that.
- Not by a player or any partner in this club! - It's not a regular thing.
It only happens when she's anxious, or she's out of her depth.
It won't happen again.
If it does, I'll report her.
Let's be very clear on that.
Ooh ooh ooh, ooh ooh Ooh ooh ooh, ooh ooh Ooh ooh ooh.
Bloody hell, put it away.
Ooh ooh ooh, ooh ooh Ooh ooh ooh.
Yep! No-one's having sex with that! Cool.
Get in there.
- Hey! - Ah, there she is.
Your husband's a shit negotiator.
- (LAUGHS) - Next time, we should just send you in.
Believe me, I suggested exactly the same thing.
You still around for that chat later? - Oh, yeah, look forward to it.
- Hey, Bri, welcome back! - Hey, we should, um - See you later.
Brian! You didn't tell me you were dropping by.
I came for a stickybeak.
So, we've been using our run and carry down the line to break the opposition defensive zone, then switching into the centre corridor.
With the forwards pushing up, we're able to create some space in our front half for Fletch and Flynn to, you know, work it.
- Sounds great.
- Yeah.
So, let's see it.
(BLOWS WHISTLE) (INDISTINCT SHOUTS) Switches on, switches on! (INDISTINCT SHOUTS) (CHEERS AND SHOUTS) (LAUGHS) I'm not apologising to her! I get that, and I respect that, - but I would appreciate it if you came with me.
- Why? Well, while I want you and Kendall to sort things out, I would also like you to be there beside me.
Or in front of me, in case anything goes down.
What, like a bodyguard? Well, no, let's not put a label on it! Is this 'cause I'm the tallest? Are you? - I don't think that you are.
- Yeah, I'm taller than you.
Well, if push came to shove, I think you would throw down.
- I would.
- I don't doubt it.
I've got Frederica till five.
- Seriously? - Yeah, let's go.
Oh! Hi, who ordered the cappuccino? Hey! - Hey.
- Wow, you're a bit sparkly.
- Thanks, yeah, you're - Thanks.
This cafe, very nice, very chic.
You choose it? Uh, yeah, I just googled it and this one had the best reviews.
Can I get you a coffee to start? Actually, we're gonna need a quick word before we start.
- OK.
- Uh, I'd really like a coffee.
It'll just be a really quick word.
I'll just leave these here, just in case.
I'd ask what's going on, but I feel like you're about to explain.
I'm so glad I could be here for your birthday, and-and catching up for coffee today, (CLICKS TONGUE) ace! I just wanted to let you know before we dive in, um, I'm in a really good place right now.
Really happy.
- That's great.
- OK, so, here we are, hanging out for no apparent reason.
Do we need a reason? You seeing anyone? - No.
- OK, got any STIs? (LAUGHS) OK, uh, no.
- No, I don't think so.
- OK, so this is just - like a little catch-up, little bit of light banter.
- OK, Paige, why don't you just come out and say what you want to say? - Really? - Yes, please.
OK, it's just we broke up, and now we're hanging out, and it just feels like there are only a couple of reasons that you'd want to do that.
You think I want to get back together with you? - Do you? - No! Why would you think that? - Is that what you want? - No, no! Far ! What do you think the homeless clothes are about? I I thought it was just some European thing.
No, I'm repelling you.
I'm literally throwing you off my hotness.
(LAUGHS) Ah, well, it's working.
No, I mean, I don't know.
I guess I just thought that I miss you, as a mate, and I thought that - What? - I don't know, that maybe we could be friends.
I can see you're gonna need more time to process that, but I'm gonna get a coffee now.
- Hi, can I please just get a cappuccino? - Sure.
JESSIE: How you doing? MADDY: I'm really nervous.
- Really? - Yes! I've never been in a fight before.
Except in Year Three, where Celia Butler punched me in the arm - and I cried until recess.
- Not a fight.
I'm worried I might take the first swing.
OK, look, if you feel like throwing a punch, just take a deep breath - (KNOCKS) - and count to three.
One, two, three.
- (GROANS) - Kendall, hi! Um, you might remember us from the events of last night.
What do you want? Do you think maybe we could come inside? Do I have a choice? I'm not one to pry.
Whatever happened between the two of you stays between you.
(SCOFFS) Yeah, right.
Whatever you want to tell yourself.
But, uh, I for one just wanted to apologise for my part in what transpired last night.
That was not how I intended to welcome you to the club.
Cut the crap.
- I know that you told her.
- Sorry, - told me what? - I didn't say anything.
Seriously, I have no idea - what happened between you two.
- Bullshit! You want me to believe that you weren't talking shit about me? - Mate, rein it in.
- Just admit that you told her about the coke! - Drugs? - (LAUGHS) I'm sorry, there was absolutely no men I certainly would have remembered.
Happy? I'm gonna throw up.
Oh! (RETCHES, VOMITS) (LAUGHS) I admit, Neela did have a certain curiosity about you, but by the end of the night, she chose me.
Congratulations.
Did you just come here so I could gloat? I wanted to tell you in person.
I've met someone.
Oh, who? It's no-one you know.
Her name's Annabelle, and, um And ? It's serious.
It's new.
But I like her.
And with the season starting Anything else I can help you with? - No, that's it.
- It's always a pleasure.
Thanks for stopping by.
(DOOR OPENS, CLOSES) Look, it doesn't happen all the time, it's just the girls in Perth were real snobby.
They didn't like me, so Can't imagine why.
Look, I understand how hard it is to make new friends, but the drugs, you just can't do that here.
I am trying.
I really am.
Have you ever thought about getting help? Yeah, of course I have! I've tried everything.
I just I don't know, I'm just a fuck-up.
(CRIES) I mean, Liam is the only person who can keep me straight.
I don't really know why he stays with me, to be honest.
Oh, I'm sorry! I'm just coming down, I'm emotional.
Fuck, you're all being so fucking nice.
(EXHALES) (MOUTHS SILENTLY) (CRIES) Fuck, you're all such classy bitches, you know that? - Thank you so much.
- Ah, you're welcome.
- See ya, girl.
- Bye! What are you doing? Oh, I just got home.
And you're avoiding Frederica? It's just if you thought that me being here was confusing things for the kids I'd tell you! Hey, and if at any point you felt uncomfortable, you'd tell me, right? Yeah.
Come on.
Jess, wait! Hurry the fuck up.
Hello, Frederica? Hey, how was your morning? - Good, thank you! - Good.
Where are the kids? Sleeping, why? Has something happened? Hello, Frederica.
Uh, Jess, can I please have a word? No, sorry, 'cause I have to tell Frederica something.
You should know Rusty's not JJ's father.
- Oh, I'm sorry, I thought - And he's not Georgie's father, or my boyfriend.
I'm gay.
But he is a part of this family.
OK.
There, that's better! We've cleared everything up.
- (LAUGHS) - Great.
- It's a mistake.
- Yeah.
If you've moved on, you probably shouldn't want to be friends with your ex.
Normally, I would agree with you, but I think the unfortunate thing about you two is you actually like other as human beings.
I think I felt something when I saw him today.
Those are ghost feelings.
Just because you're not with someone doesn't mean you stop loving them.
Hey, are you, um, OK? Fine.
It's just you've demolished that jar of peanut butter, and I only just got home, so I think a little less judgement from you, lady, especially if you're going to be living here.
I know that you said that you wanted to find a place when you got settled in, but You want me to move in? If you want to.
- (LAUGHS) Yeah! - Yes? Oh! REPORTER 1: And while it's hard to ignore the fact that last year was a challenging one for the Southern Jets, there's certainly a lot to be excited about with Rusty O'Reilly expected to be named - in the leadership group tomorrow morning.
- (PHONE RINGS) - John.
- I just met with your husband.
What's going on? He turned down the fucking job! (SIGHS) (FOOTSTEPS) You didn't think to discuss it with me first? You would have talked me out of it.
Really? That's what you think? I just can't do it.
I can't go back to the club after everything.
Jessie didn't want to stand in front of an inquest either.
Remember? - She begged you not to go to the police.
- And Rus? You think seeing me at training is going to be good for him? You told him the truth.
- He forgave you.
- How do you forgive - for something like that? - Oh, stop blaming yourself, OK? You didn't kill him! It was an accident! Just because everyone else is OK with it doesn't mean that I am.
You need to find a way to move on.
There's a job going as a development manager running clinics in the outback.
I'm sitting on the board.
I can't go anywhere.
I know.
(SIGHS) (DOOR OPENS) I got your text message.
I came as soon as I could.
I really thought he was gonna take it.
You are a great coach.
Those boys are lucky to have you.
- For a start - Babe, I really appreciate the pep talk, I just don't know if I'm quite ready to hear it yet.
Well, you let me know when you are, because I have a cracker raring to go.
(SIGHS) (PHONE RINGS) Kendall, hi! You're calling me.
I guess your phone does work? Huh? What? Wait.
Slow down, slow down.
OK, what happened? - Hi.
- Where have you been? You took ages! You can't tell him that I called you.
- OK, he'll probably figure it out.
- No, no, no! He can't find out! He'll be so pissed off! - OK, it's OK.
- What happened? - Oh, it was an accident.
- Babe, I need ice.
You have to believe me! - Where is he? - What are you doing here? - Babe, did you call them? - No! - I said not to call anyone! - I didn't, I didn't That's not important right now.
- There was blood everywhere - It's not a big deal.
It was an accident, seriously.
Can we just keep this between us? I don't think we can make that promise till we know what happened.
The truth.
What are you doing here? Uh, I'm having a one-night stand, can't you tell? - OK, well, with who? - Whoever I want! You like this guy? He's nice, and funny.
(SHOUTS) If they ask you any questions about the injury I had a collision at training.
Once you go in there, I can't protect you.
Kath, I've got this.
What's going on with Flynn? That gash on his forehead.
We're handling him.
- Uh, I've got to Yeah.
