Hometown Love

[audio logo]
[music playing]
- Imagine flying from the sunny
streets of Los Angeles
back to your hometown
only to find out
that your family,
friends, and neighbors
have orchestrated a series
of blind dates just for you.
Tori is about to find
out what that's like.
- (SINGING) Yeah,
I'm ready for it
Ooh, ooh, ooh
- I'm Ashley Williams,
and I'm in the City of Milton
for a small-town setup.
- (SINGING) I'm ready for it
- I'm here to help
Tori's parents, Susan and
Mark, who want nothing
more than to see
their daughter in love.
Mark, who want nothing
That's so sweet.
For Tori, finding an epic love
like her parents is the dream.
But swiping
on the dating apps in LA
hasn't lived up to her
high expectations.
Will she find her prince
charming here in Milton or book
it back to the beach?
- (SINGING) Feel this moment
- We're about to dive
into a heartwarming adventure
full of romance, small
town charm, and a big dose
of small town magic.
[applause, cheering]
I've heard there's always
some sort of, like, fun
festival or concert in Milton.
Do I smell kettle corn
or is that love in the air?
Or is it both?
[soft acoustic music]
[upbeat music]
[birds chirping]
Hi, Susan!
- Hi!
Ashley!
- I'm Ashley Williams.
- I know.
It's so nice to meet you.
- So nice to meet you.
- Are you Mark?
- I am.
- I'm Ashley.
- Hi, Ashley.
- It's so nice to meet you.
- Wow, so nice to meet you.
- Oh, my gosh, there's--
- Hi.
- so many wonderful
people in here.
- There's so many people.
- I'm Ashley.
---- Hi, Ashley.rful
peopl- Hi.here.
Nice to meet you.
- What's your name?
- I'm Rose.
- Hi, Rose.
- I'm Mark's mother.
- Oh, my goodness, how fun.
Do you live here?
- No, I'm in Chicago.
- Did you come
in just for this?
- Of course.
- Did you come
- [gasps] Rose, lucky us.
The pressure is on.
- Yes.
- Well, I'm gonna
make some coffee.
- OK, make coffee.
Thank you, Rose.
So I can just picture little
Tori running around this house.
What was she like as a child?
- She was the boss.
She has two siblings.
- So she's the oldest of three.
- Yeah.
- She was just the one child
that just had her goals.
And she was an A student.
And she-- she was
a perfectionist.
She's known since high school
she wanted to go to LA.
She went out there
with nothing.
She built her career.
She went out there
She found a place to live.
She built a community.
- In this big city--
- In this really big city.
- where it's kind
of easy to get lost.
- Completely.
- What has her dating
life been like in--
- Super challenging.
- LA?
- Super challenging.
She's gone on dates
on the apps,
and it's just a wild
misrepresentation of humans.
- Because she met them online?
- Mm-hmm.
And she's just like,
Mom, this is not
how I'm gonna find somebody.
I just need to find
it organically.
- Why is now the right time?
- She is trying to work
on the work-life balance,
and she's ready.
- She's been in seven weddings.
I think subconsciously,
it's like, what about me?
- Yeah.
- You know?
- It's hard finding love in LA.
How did the two of you meet?
- My older sister, she was
learning to be an aerobics
How instructor from you.eet?
I started just waiting for him.
I'd just kind of hang around
to see if he would say hey.
- So you immediately thought he
was cute and started lingering?
- Yes.
This went on for a couple
of months.
And I finally just
looked at him and I said,
when are you gonna ask me out?
- And I said to her, I go,
well, what are you doing now?
- Yeah.
OK.
So today is a really special
day, from what I understand.
This is your wedding
anniversary?
- 32 years.
- 32 years today.
- Yes.
[music playing]
It feels to me like
the love is just
stronger than it's ever been.
- It is.
- Like, I don't blame you for
wanting that for your daughter.
- Yeah
- So tell me, what are
we looking for here?
- Somebody that's a really good
communicator, will cherish her,
kindness, work-life balance.
Because she loves
to have fun, you know.
It could be blonde.
It could be brunette.
She wants somebody
very into music.
And Tori and I have always
had this thing about dating.
I said, just look
at their shoes first.
- Wait.
Are you saying that you can
tell a lot about a person--
- Yeah, by those--
- based on what
shoes they're wearing?
- Yes, and it has
nothing to do--
- - I'm suddenlyt
svery self-consciousg?
of my shoe choice.
- Well, if you'll notice,
I'm barefoot, so--
[laughs]
- I did notice that.
[laughter]
OK.
So what is it about Milton?
How does this energy
here influence what
you're looking for for her?
- I think, when she
comes home, she's
able to relax and be herself.
But when she's there,
Tori is more serious.
She's more-- it's-- it's
like it's all business.
- So I feel like
now is the time.
This is the missing
link, and it's
time for her to find somebody.
And I feel like
we're the people
that will help her find it.
- So we're gonna go meet some
members of your community
and see how they could help us
find the perfect match for her.
- Absolutely.
- Yes!
- Absolutely.
- Let's do it.
- Ab- OK.ely.
- Thank you so much.
[upbeat music]
OK, they're about to come in.
Hi.
Welcome.
- Hi!
OK, the- Hi, everybody.me in.
Come on in.
- Hello!
- Hi.
OMake yourselves comfortable.
- Hi, ladies.
- Hi.
- How are you?
- Good.
- Exciting.
Great to meet you.
- I'm so happy the whole
friend group came.
- We couldn't miss it.
We're supporting our girl.
- You know Rose, right?
- Yes.
- Yes--
- OK.
- I do.
- Good.
OK, good.
- I'm gonna say hey to her.
Rose.
- You never know when I'm
going to see anybody again.
- How are you?
- I'm fine.
- Why are you the main
character here?
- I'm not.
- You should be, though.
- Oh, I'll pay you later.
- Isn't this exciting?
- I am so happy
to be here in Milton.
[applause, cheering]
OK.
You have all come together
for the one and only Tori.
Mark and Susan, can you
please tell us about what
her life is like right now?
- She decided to move
to LA and has cultivated
an amazing community
and a fabulous career,
and has all the things
except for a date.
- She's been in all
of your weddings
and social events
and stuff and--
- She's been in all
of - So wait.ngs
How many people here was
Tori a bridesmaid for?
Oh!
Wait.
1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7.
Are you serious?
OK.
Well, that is the kind
of supportive girl that we
want to help now, right?
- That's right.
- So we've all got a big
wajob ahead of us, OK?t?
We're gonna try
to find love for Tori
this week, right
here in Milton.
[applause]
Mark and Susan,
so what exactly are
the things that you're looking
for in a potential date
Mark and Susan,
so whfor Tori?y are
- They have to be able to cook.
- That would be nice to--
- Yeah.
- be comfortable
- They hin the kitchen.to cook.
- That would be nice to--
- Yeah.
- They got to have nice shoes.
The communication is huge.
That's what's helped us
get through our 32 years.
But someone that can talk
Tabout all of the things,.
not just the easy things--
But someone that can talk
Taball the hard things.s,.
- Grandma Rose, would
you come up and tell
us a little bit about Tori?
Yeah, come up.
I know I'm throwing
us a litthis at you.t Tori?
- Certainly are.
- I didn't warn
you [applause]
- This is Mark's mom, OK?
And, Rose, tell us, what
was Tori like as a child?
- A brat.
- Brat?
- Oh, she was a brat?
- No, I'm just kidding.
She's very thoughtful of me.
She calls up and asks me if I'm
still alive and feeling good.
- Who would you like
to see Tori with?
She c- First of all, I want I'm
sa guy who looks pretty nice.
-- Oh, like, lookske
tnice or is nice.
- Well, both.
- OK, Rose.
- Right.
And who she is
so excited about.
- Somebody that lights her up.
- Yes, that lights her up.
- Yay, Rose!
[applause]
Great job.
Thank you so much.
Who here has a good idea for
somebody to get to know Tori?
I see a finger in the air.
Come on up here.
OK.
Tell us who you're nominating.
- I'm here to nominate

because everything you have
said describes my son--

of shoes he wears?
[laughter]

- I think, if I can
remember correctly.
- Nice ones--

to have a little discussion to
support you to see about going

yon a few blind dates.y,
[laughter]
- Wait.
Actually?
[music playing]
- OK.
[sighs] This is all so weird.
I'm sweating.
- I understand.
Is that a look of, like,
anger or confusion?
- It's more of just like--
like, what do you mean you
brought people together?
And were you in on this?
- Well, of course.
I was all excited about coming.
- Aw, that's so sweet, Grandma.
I love you.
- I love you too.
- OK.
So we reached--
- What did you tell them?
I'm a single cat
lady and I need help?
Like--
I'm a single cat
lady and- No!ed help?
- No, we did not say
you were Eleanor Rigby.
- No.
No.
I said, like, she's everything.
Like, she's--
- Oh, I thought--
- gone out to LA on her own,
found a place to live, built
a community, got a great job.
It's just, LA is
just really hard.
It seems like too hard.
- There definitely are still
great people in the world.
- They're just not necessarily
on the apps that you, you know,
get tired of.
- Yeah.
And you're not wrong.
Dating in LA has really
not been great for me.
- Right.
I mean, I know that you want
somebody to settle down with.
- Yeah.
- Right?
- Mhm.
- And we want it for you.
- Yeah.
But I'm a little bit
nervous about who,
like, is your picking.
- OK.
So you know our little silly
joke that we have between us?
- Yeah, about the shoes?
So you know our little silly
joke t- About the shoes.n us?
- You can tell a lot
about a man's personality
with his shoes.
An interesting choice.
- These are awesome,
aren't they?
- [laughs]
- I think, honestly,
if you're open to this--
- Yeah.
- you never know
what will happen.
[soft acoustic music]
- My parents being
in my dating life, I
welcome it only because dating
in LA has been tough.
You know, I tried the apps.
I got off them.
I'm looking to meet
someone in person,
and that's why I'm
excited about this.
- And I'd like some
more grandchildren.
and that's why I'm
excit[laughter]his.
[upbeat music]
- How are you feeling about it?
- I'm feeling good.
I think, we make it through
today, Tori will be happy.
- Tory will be happy.
- Hi.
- Good morning.
Mark.
- Jonathan Radnor.
- Hey, Jonathan.
- Hi.
- Hi.
Very nice to meet you.
- It's great to meet you.
- Can you tell us a little
bit about yourself?
- I grew up in Georgia.
- Where'd you go to school?
- Can- George Collegeittle
bin Milledgeville.?
- Might know each other.
- You might have crossed paths.
- Probably crossed
paths, you never know.
- So she went to George
College as well?
- She did.
She did.
- Then I went up to Mercer
University in Atlanta
for PA school.
- I'm assuming you
have a master's, right?
- I do, yeah.
- If you have a free
day, how do you
typically like to spend it?
- I play music.
- Oh, yeah.
What instrument?
- I started playing
drums when I was 12.
- So you got rhythm.
- I've got rhythm.
- So I love to hear
that you play music.
Tori loves to sing.
I love your look.
She wears boots.
- Yeah.
- And--
- Boots in LA.
- Yeah.
Is it OK if I take
a picture of you.
- Yeah.
- OK.
- Is it- 100%.
- I take
a pict- OK.f you.
I got to get the boots.
OK.
[music playing]
We get to go meet Jack.
Is that the one that--
what's that word?
I didn't know what it meant.
- Jack's got drip.
- Oh, he's got drip.
- Oh, that must be
Jack right there.
- Hi.
Jack Lindsay.
Nice to meet you.
- Hey, Jack.
Mark Gleason.
- Susan Gleason.
- Nice to meet you as well.
Here, honey.
Sit over here.
- Sus- OK.eason.
Thanks.
Sit over here.
- It's great to see y'all.
- Tell me a little
bit about yourself.
- Yeah.
So I'm now in my last
year of law school.
- So like, if you had to look
at your family in the future,
what would that look like?
- I mean, I'm 26 right now.
I'm focusing
on starting my career,
finding somebody to fall
in love with, and then--
- Yeah.
- go from there.
Can you tell me about Tori?
- Yeah.
She's dynamite.
- She's very career
oriented, and she works
for a marketing company in LA.
- OK.
Is Tori, is she possibly
moving back here?
- Obviously, I think it would
depend on the relationship.
- OK.
- Obviously, I think it would
- Mind if we took a picture?
- Not at all.
- OK, there you go.
- It was great to meet you.
- Great meeting you too.
[upbeat music]
- Hi.
- You must be Jimmy.
- Nice to meet you.
How you doing?
- Can you tell us a little
bit about yourself?
- Sure, of course.
27 years old, and I work
as an account coordinator
for an advertising agency.
- We hear that you took
a cooking class in Barcelona.
How was that?
- That's correct.
- Yeah.
- My company flew
me out, all of us,
two months within the job.
- So you did some
ballroom dancing.
- Yeah, I took it
back in college.
- Yeah, that's kind of fun.
- I love to dance.
- Well, how do you feel
about marriage and kids?
Is that something
you aspire to have--
- Oh, absolutely.
- one day?
- Yeah, I want to be
a father one day.
- Do you mind if we
take a picture of you?
- Not at all.
- I got it, Thank you.
- Pleasure to meet you, Susan.
- Pleasure to meet you, Jimmy.
[music playing]
All right.
This must be Jared.
- Mark, Susan, how are you?
- Nice to meet you.
- Nice to meet you.
- Thanks for meeting
up with us.
How are you today?
- I'm doing well.
- So what are you doing with
yourself these days, Jared?
- So I'm a software developer.
I work remote mostly.
- Have you found that dating
is a little tough these days?.
- Yeah.
I tried the apps.
It's kind of hard.
- It's really hard.
- Yeah.
- Yeah, I don't see
how any of you do it.
- Yeah
- - Where'd you goe
howto high school?it.
- Actually, I went
to Blessed Trinity.
- Oh, you did?
- Yeah.
- You did?
Did y'all know each other?
- Did she go there?
- Yeah.
- So y'all probably
know each other.
- Maybe.
Small world.
- It is such a small world.
Is family something
that you want?
- Yeah, absolutely.
- Yeah.
- Definitely trying
to find the right person.
- Yeah.
- Family is definitely
something I've been wanting.
- I'm checking out your shoes.
It's an inside thing with
Tori and I. You look awesome.
- Oh, thank you.
Appreciate it.
It's an inside thing with
Tori and I- Awesome. awesome.
- Hey, it was
a pleasure meeting you.
- It's a pleasure to meet you.
[music playing]
-- So we're gonna get a call
- From Patrick.
- OK.
-- So we[phone rings] a call
There he is.
- Hey, Patrick.
- Hey.
I apologize.
- Hey, Patrick.
It's one of those days at work.
- We understand completely,
but it's nice to meet you.
- So you're
a software engineer.
I think that's what
Kendall told me.
- That's right.
I am, for Specialty
Cars, Collectors Cars.
I grew up around racing.
My dad was really into it.
So it's bit of a family
thing, kind of, growing up.
- What's your social life like?
- A very large friend group.
We've all been friends
for about 15 years,
and it's rare that we're not
doing something somewhere.
- That's so nice.
- I've been to a lot
of weddings.
I just went to my 30th
wedding, actually, last week.
- OK.
You've got Tori beat.
I just went to my 30th
wedding, act- Yes. last week.
She's been up to,
like, 9 or 10.
- Are you looking to have
wedda family of your own?eek.
- Absolutely.
I know my mom and my dad
would love nothing more.
- Would love that, yeah.
- So my wife's got
this crazy thing--
- Just, like, point
the camera down at your shoes.
OK, there you go.t
thiNice kicks.ng--
There you go.
Do you mind if I
take a picture?
OK.
All right.
Great.
- Thank you so much.
- Thank y'all.
- Take care.
- OK, bye.
[music playing]
- I was actually home
a couple of months ago.
- I saw you.
- Yeah.
We saw each other for,
like, five minutes.
- Yeah.
- OK.
Thoughts, feelings?
How are you?
T- I am shaken up.?
I have no idea what's going on.
- So valid that
you feel that way.
What would you say are
I havthe things that you're on.
looking for in someone?
And have you talked to your
parents about that lately?
Like, do you think
it's changed?
And - I feel like, yes, your
parethey have a-- theyely?
probably have a concept
of what I'm looking for.
And I feel like it's just
going to, like-- like force
me to have to be vulnerable.
- You can't build up
the perfect person.
And, like, it's not like
building a cheeseburger,
you know?
You can't just, like,
customize every single thing
that you want.
- I wish it was like
building a cheeseburger.
- That's-- I feel like that's
kind of, like, what dating apps
are, though, don't you think?
Like, you kind of get lost
in, like, the wrong things.
- Right.
And then you're forever hungry.
in, like, - Yeah.ng things.
- I get it.
- Wow.
And then you're forever hungry.
in, likThat metaphor.hings.
- That was so deep.
[laughter]
- I think that that might
have been kind of what
was not working for you in LA.
Would you agree?
- Yeah, I feel like I
definitely would agree.
I think one of the things
that I struggle
with the most internally
is the fact that I'm
building a life in LA.
But ultimately, I want
to be close to family.
I want to put down
roots and build
a life where they are and
probably coming back to Milton.
- In LA, do you think you
could ever have the kind
of love your parents have?
[music playing]
- I don't even know how to
answer that question, because I
feel like my parents'
relationship
is the epitome of love to me.
They are just the perfect
example of what I
would want in a relationship.
And I think that's why it's
been really hard to date.
I have high standards,
and the person
that I'm looking
for really needs
to be, you know, in touch
with their emotions
so that they can talk to me
and see me on a deeper level.
- I will say, I think that
this opportunity is a good time
to dive deep and really just,
like, get to know these guys
- and ask those questionsat
this oppothat might notood time
be the comfortable questions
to ask on the first date,
but questions that
you know you really
want to know the answer to.
- You know, I used to think to
myself, like, OK, dating in LA
want toisn't working.er to.
I wish I could just like,
try dating in Milton.
I feel like this is like
a dream come true almost where
I wiI get to actually, ke,
like, try it and maybe
meet the love of my life.
Who knows?
- Who knows, girl?
[music playing]
- So we met Jonathan.
- Yes.
- Jack.
- Correct.
- Jimmy.
- Yep.
- OK.
All right.
So let's refresh our memory.
What do you think?
- Yeah, I think we should
take a look at those guys.
- All right, let's look.
Wha- Jonathan.ink?
- Jonathan, I like him a lot.
I mean, he's--
- Well, he's the one
that is an ER PA?
I - Correct.--
Got a master's, tall
drink of water there.
- All right.
- I like him.-
- Yeah.
This is Jack.
- Jack's my law student.
- He had a lot
of nice qualities.
But I feel like, right now,
he's so focused on his--
- Getting out of law school
- That he's maybe not
necessarily the timing.
- I just don't feel
like he's ready.
So then that
brings us to Jimmy.
- He was the one that
was nominated by his mom.
So then that
brings- Right.immy.
- Gone to Barcelona to cook.
- Yeah, he took a cooking
class in Barcelona.
I thought he was a nice guy.
I just didn't really get a warm
and fuzzy from him initially.
That's my two cents on Jimmy.
- Yeah.
- Then we go to--
- This guy--
That's my t- Jared? on Jimmy.
- You like Jared.
- He might be that shy
guy that, you know,
I think Tori could bring
out something in him.
And they might know each
other already because they
went to the same high school.
- Yeah.
And it's nice that he's kind
of tied to this area, so that--
- Grew up around here.
- would be great.
Yeah.
- This is Patrick.
- I like Patrick.
- What does he do?
- Another software engineer.
And that's where
the future's going.
So you know--
- OK, wait, did
we just narrow it?
- I think we got
it down to three.
- That's like hard,
but I think we did it.
Who do we have?t
- We have Jonathan--
- Jonathan, Jared--
- Jared, and Patrick.
- and Patrick.
What do you think?
I think we need to eat lunch.
- I think we need to eat lunch.
[laughter]
- (SINGING) The light
comes from me
We don't stop till
we hit the end
- (SINGING) The light
cWe fall down
We begin again
- Hello, Milton!
What a week.
[applause]
I mean, this has been
such an exciting week.
So, Susan and Mark,
what a journey, huh?
- Yes.
- Can you tell
the whole group, who
are the gentlemen
that you picked
- Can you tell
to go on the dates with Tori?
- We narrowed it down to
Jonathan, Jared, and Patrick.
- Here is the plan.
We are all going to tune
in live to the dates.
[applause]
I'm gonna want to know
your thoughts afterwards.
First up, we're gonna
watch Tori and Jared.
[applause]
- (SINGING) There's a time
for everything, for everything
- Tori.
- Hello.
- (SINGING) There's a time
for everythinHi.for everything
- Hi.
- It's great to meet you.
- Nice to meet you.
What's your name?
- Jared.
- Jared.
Hi.
I'm Tori.
- Physically, Jared
definitely fits the bill.
He's tall.
He's got dark features, really
nice eyes, really lovely smile.
- Play a few games today.
- Fun.
- Dodgeball.
So you just got
to hit some zombies.
- OK.
Yeah.
I'm ready.
- All right.
- OK.
Let's go.
So I heard a little
bit about you.
- Yeah.
OK.
Yeah, you met my parents.
I forgot about that.
- Yeah.
They mentioned you
actually went to BT.
- Yeah, I did.
- Did you go to BT?
- I was BT also.
- Wait, what?
- Yeah.
- Really?
- I was the class of 2014.
- OK, that's crazy.
- Yeah.
- I was 2013.
- And I remember, like,
going to the pep rallies.
- So--
- Yeah.
- I actually remember
goiwatching you dance.es.
- You remember that?
Wow, I'm so sorry.
- No you're fine.
No.
- I guess we went
to high school together.
I don't really remember
seeing Jared ever,
so I'm immediately
feeling kind of bad.
I don't really remember
seeiOh my god.ver,
But I do feel like I
have this opportunity
to get to know him more.
- Backhand in front.
- Yeah.
- Like, flick it.
- OK.
OK.
Wow.
That was good coaching.
- Oh, wow.
You're a natural.
- She's doing so good.
- I feel like I didn't know
we were coming to play games.
Maybe I wouldn't
have worn heels.
- I feel like I didn't know
we were com- Yeah.play games.
[laughter]
Crazy, like, we went
to school together,
like, 10 years ago, and we
really never interacted.
- I know it's honestly insane.
[laughter]
I feel like I'm not normally
this awkward on dates.
- No.
[You're--]
- It's definitely
the setting that we're in.
- I wouldn't say
you're awkward at all.
- Oh, OK.
Thank you.
- So, LA, do you plan
to be there long term?
- I don't see myself
long term in LA.
- Right.
- I also really want
to be close to my family
when the time comes
to, like, settle down
and have a family of my own.
And I feel like-- well, I
know for sure that my parents
aren't leaving Milton.
[laughter]
What's your dating
life been like?
- My last, like, long term
relationship was last year.
- OK.
- And that lasted
for, like, six months.
- How did you guys meet?
- We met on Hinge.
- Nice.
- Just dating has
been a challenge.
- Yeah, it's been so hard.
Like, what was
your experience on the apps?
- It's just very hit or miss.
- Yeah.
- And, like, there's just,
like, so many options.
Like--
- It's overwhelming.
- Exactly.
- I definitely prefer
to meet people in person.
- More authenticity.
- Yeah, exactly.
- Yeah.
[music playing]
Well, it's honestly been
so fun catching up with you.
- Yeah, absolutely.
- Can't believe that we went
to BT together and now all
these years on a blind date.
- Exactly.
Who would have thought?
- Who would have thought it?
[applause]
- Things are happening
right in front of our faces.
[laughter]
OK.
Next up, we're going to watch
Tori and Jonathan's date live.
[applause]
- (SINGING) I want
it now, want it now
Before it's gone
I want it now, want it now
Waited so long
I'm gonna shout
WOoh, oh, oh!g
- Hey.
[laughter]
How are you?
Good to see you.
- So good to see you.
- I know.
- Oh, my God!
Go- What's up?u.
- I literally haven't
seen you since college.
- Yeah, it's been
like, seven years now.
- I literally haven't
seen - Oh, my god.lege.
- She knows him.
So she went
to college with him?
Oh.
- You look so good!
- You do too.
- Oh, thank you.
- It's great to see you.
Yeah.
- Let's walk this way.
You want to check out
the market a little bit?
- Yeah, sure.
Let's do it.
- Yeah.
- Jonathan and I went
to college together.
I'm definitely thinking, like,
everyone I'm gonna go on a date
- with, I'm gonna have
some weird connection to.
But yeah, I thought that was
hilarious that I actually know
him, going on to a blind date.
- Those look great.
I mean, I like the--
- They're
- I like the--
- stunning.
- pink, like the white.
- Yeah.
Thanks for the flowers.
- Wouldn't miss it.
I mean, this--
- Oh, thank you again.
- Yeah.
- Y'all have a great weekend.
- All right.
You too.
Thank you.
Wow, these are so nice.
Thank you.
- You're welcome.
So you graduated in 2017?
- Yep.
- And I was--
- From George College.
S---I guess I was 2016.?
- OK.
Nice.
- So, yeah.
I mean, it's just crazy.
We were within each
other's circles.
- I know.
That's insane.
- So what do you do?
- I work for a creative agency,
mostly social media marketing.
- Oh, sick.
- Yeah.
It's so fun.
- That's incredible.
- What do you do.
- So I'm a PA.
I work in the ICU.
- Oh, OK.
Wow.
- Yeah.
I work in the ICU.
- That's a nice job.
- Yeah, it's great.
I mean, I-- I
really do love it.
The only other goal
that I have is,
I've been trying to start
writing music lately.
- Really?
- Yeah, it's been pretty fun.
- Do you sing as well?
- I sing, yeah, yeah.
- Oh, cool.
- Yeah.
- Do you have
a little to share?
- I mean, if you
really want me to,
I can try to bust out a little
Amazing Grace or something.
[laughter]
- Whoa.
Is he gonna start
singing right now?
Is he gonna start singing?
- I don't know.
- Yeah, sure.
Do it.
- All right.
- Yeah, sure.
[suspenseful music]
- I can't believe you're
about to do this a cappella.
- All right.
- - (SINGING) Amazing're
agrace, how sweet the sound.
- Oh, my God, he's got courage.
- (SINGING) That saved
- Oh, my Go- He does.t courage.
- (SINGING) a wretch like me
- Wow!
- That's it.
- Not bad.
- That was amazing.
I mean, I can't believe
you just busted that out.
I'm so impressed.
- Yeah, a little shaky.
Probably a little nerves--
- No.
- in there.
- Yeah, a little shaky.
- It was honestly amazing.
It was beautiful.
I'm gonna take
a hard pivot here.
What about, like,
marriage, kids--
- Yeah.
- a future in that way?
What are you looking for?
- I'm kind
of at the point in my life
to where I'm kind of settled
in and ready for that.
- That's definitely gonna be--
[bells chiming]
Oh!
Wedding bells already.
- Wedding bells.
[laughter]
- That was fast.
- We just really
turned a corner here.
- That's insane.
I love the boots too.
- Well, thank you.
- Do you always wear boots?
- Yeah, I'm a big boot guy.
- Really?
- Shoes are coming out.
- OK.
- It's been awesome getting
back together with you--
- I know.
- honestly.
- I can't believe it.
- It's super cool to actually
get to know you in this way.
It's been great.
- Yeah, it's been awesome.
[music playing]
[applause]
- That was great.
That was exciting.
I like it.
All right, last one.
We're gonna watch Tori
and Patrick's date live.
[applause]
[music playing]
- (SINGING) All
right, the world fell
Things shifted to the sky
- Hello.
- Hi.
- Hello.
You must--
- Hi.
- be Tori.
- Yes, Tori.
- I'm Patrick.
- Patrick, nice to meet you.
- Nice to meet you.
- I'm so nervous.
- Well, that makes two of us.
- Yes OK, good.
- Welcome to Stars
Hat and Jewelry Bar.
- Wow, awesome.
Nice to meet you.
- Nice to meet you too.
- Yeah.
- We got 70 different styles
and colors to choose from.
- OK.
- We'll measure your head, and
we'll look at your face shape
and get everything
just right so you
can pick the perfect hat.
and get everything
- I love wherever we are.
Like, it's so cool.
And seeing him, I was
immediately excited.
- We're gonna
Lfind yours first--
- Ooh.
- then mine.
- OK.
OK.
- Ooh.
- He is tall.e.
He has dark features.
He really knows how to dress.
Like, the physical attraction
is definitely there.
- This seemed like something
different and fun to do.
- Yeah, this is,
like, a perfect date,
honestly, a dream.
I don't know why.
I feel drawn to this hat.
This, for you.
- Let's try it on.
- Try it.
- Let's see how it looks.
- Ooh!
It looks good on you.
- Ooh, we like the way
he looks in the hat.
- I kind of like the wide brim.
- I do too.
I like them both.
- Yeah.
- But that one works.
OK.
- OK?
- Cool.
We found our hats.
- Hey, how are you?
- Hi.
- Let me see it on.
- OK.
Let's see.
What do you think?
Is this the one?
- It's perfect.
It's perfect.
I'll be back.
- I trust you.
- What's crazy is I've already
been on a date with someone
that I went to college with.
- Really?
- Yep.
And then someone I went
to high school with.
- Oh, my god.
- So I hope you
didn't go to BT,
and I hope you didn't
go to Georgia College.
- I did not.
- Whew!
OK.
- So no, safe there.
- Let me pop your hat off.
- Yeah.
- You keep talking.
- Ooh, I like
the color combo there.
- OK.
I'm all for it.
- Let me see yours.
- OK.
Did you meet my grandma?
- I did not.
- Oh, OK.
- I did not.
Just your mom and dad.
- Oh, OK.
- Well, she's a hoot.
- Well, I'm sure I'll
Jmeet her eventually
- Oh, you think so?
- Yeah.
- Wow, OK.
A lot of confidence.
I love it.
- Well, why don't
y'all go have a seat--
- OK.
- And I'll finish
working on this.
- Perfect.
Thank you so much.
- No, thank, y'all.
- Wow, I love it in here.
It's so cute.
So we gotta get deep
on this first date.
- Oh, bring it on.
- Yeah, girl.
Yes.
- Do you like to cook?
- I think I would enjoy it more
if I had someone do it with.
- OK.
OK.
So my dad cannot cook.
- Oh.
Oh, no.
She doesn't know you're
watching right now.
[laughter]
- While I am very
independent, I'm
also, like, ready for a partner
and a romantic relationship.
I've never been
in a relationship long term.
alsI never really even datedner
anyone super seriously in LA.
I just-- I feel like
it wasn't really
passing the third,
fourth, fifth date mark.
So that's definitely something
I am ready for and looking for.
- Yeah, I agree.
I want a relationship.
- Yeah.
[music playing]
Have you ever been to LA?
- I have.
Me and my dad went there
a few times growing up.
And I do like
travel when I can.
- So much fun to make our hats.
We should go pick them up.
- Yeah, they're
probably done by now.
- Yeah.
Oh, my gosh.
Wow.
- Let's see it.
- Memories.
It looks great.
[laughter]
- OK.
What did we think?
[applause]
I mean, it's so exciting.
What do we think
about this third date?
Do you think maybe
this could be the one?
[laughter]
OK, good.
Right now, I want to hear
from each and every one of you
about what you
thought of the dates.
You're gonna write down
on a piece of paper
who you think Tori should
get to know better.
And then we're gonna
meet back here tomorrow,
and I'm gonna let you know
what the results were, OK?
- All right.
[applause]
- So I want you to come up.
So you're gonna write either
Jonathan, Jared, or Patrick.
[music playing]
- Voting for Jared,
because he reminds
me a lot of my grandson,
and he just seems so sweet,
and they seem
so sweet together.
- I'm voting for Patrick.
When he put on that
sCowboy hat, your.
can just see it in her eyes.
- I'm voting
for Jonathan, because I
think they were
just so adorable
- I'm voting
and he really listened to her.
- I was team Jonathan, but I
have to go with Patrick.
I think they just are kind
aof in the same phase of life.
and can grow into more
and wanting the same things.
- I'm gonna vote for Patrick
aof inbecause I think he life.
has like a really cool vibe.
Seems like a good guy.
- (SINGING) You better
know that I'm the one
Can make you come alive
- (SINGING) You better
You never had this kind of love
Man, you can't deny
- Hi!
- Hey!
- I'm Ashley.
Your parents asked me to help
you find love in Milton.
- So good to meet you.
- So nice to meet you.
- Welcome.
- Thank you.
- I just-- I'm so excited
to hear how you're doing.
- OK.
I'm excited to tell you.
- This dress is amazing.
- Thank you.
Thank you so much.
First of all, were you
surprised when all of
this happened?
- Absolutely.
My parents are crazy for this.
[laughter]
- Yeah.
- Yeah, they are.
- By the way, I have
to tell you something.
- OK.
I got together with
the whole town of Milton,
and we watched
your dates live together.
I got together with
the whole Yeah.of Milton,
- No.
- Yeah.
I got together with
the whole - No!of Milton,
- Because, first of all,
you have to know--
the love and support for you
is out of this world.
- OK.
- So I'm so curious
to hear, what was it like?
- It was, like,
really intimidating
to ask the questions
that I want to ask.
Thinking back
to my past situations,
I think there was a lot
of people pleasing involved
and, like, me not wanting
to actually say how I genuinely
feel, just playing the game.
- Interesting.
And so when you're--
I mean, listen, we
both live in LA.
I know what it's like.
- Yeah.
- I can't even imagine
trying to date there.
- I think, if anything,
this experience, like--
and going on these dates with
these guys has really just
taught me, like, be fully
yourself entirely the way,
and then I'll just
be able to, like,
be myself and potentially
meet someone that,
like, sees me fully as I am.
- This town, maybe
more than any other,
it feels like a really
solid place to have kids--
- Yeah.
- and raise a family.
- Oh, absolutely.
I totally agree with you.
I know within myself that
I don't want to have roots
and I don't want to put
I todown roots in LA.you.
I know within myself that
I also am like, OK, I want to--
- Yeah.
- raise a family in the same
way that I was raised.
That's something that I
constantly think about.
I'll be turning 30 in January--
- Oh, my gosh.
- and it just, kind of, feels
like the perfect ending to this
era, but also like new
beginning for me and,
like, the way that I want
to date in the world.
I feel like dating
on an app has
been a little bit of a game.
People aren't really
very forthright
with their intentions.
And so, you know, I
at least appreciate
that dating
in person in Milton,
people are definitely looking
to take the next step.
And so I think, being
able to do this and just
be my true, authentic
self, I just
want to take that through every
step of life moving forward.
- We are gonna go
and meet with the town.
Do you feel like
you're-- you're ready?
- Yes, I'm so excited.
- Let's do it.
- Yes, Come on.xcited.
- (SINGING) Oh, I was
living with my eyes closed
- Thank you so much
- Yfor coming back.ed.
[applause]
I've loved getting
to know all of you.
And we did a big vote.
We are going to be hearing
the results, the verdict.
[applause]
I think it's time that
we finally bring in Tori.
Y'all ready?
[- Yeah!e]
- All right.
Y'all ready?
Tori, come on in.
[applause]
[music playing]
- Hi.
- All right, Tori.
So talk to me a little bit.
What-- what has this
week been like for you?
- Thank you, Mom and Dad,
for setting this up for me.
Thank you to my community,
my family, my friends, everyone
that showed up for me.
I am honestly so blown away.
Dating in LA is
definitely really hard.
I feel like it takes
a lot of time and energy
to get to the point of what
someone's intentions are.
And so I was a little
bit more open to the fact
that maybe I haven't been
successful in LA for a reason,
and maybe there was an
opportunity back home that, you
know, I could explore.
- Do you feel like
you'll approach dating
differently from now on?
- 100%.
- Aw, yay!
We love you, Tori!
[applause]
- Thank you.
- What's it like for you
to be here now, Susan,
at the end of all of this?
- I'm super excited because she
seems like she settled into it.
- Settled into what?
- To possibility.
- I'm just gonna be happy
if my little girl is happy.
- Mark, that is so sweet.
So we conducted a poll,
and every single person
here voted about
who they thought
you had a connection with.
here voted about
who t- OK.hought
- And the results
of that poll--
Patrick.
- Oh, OK.
[applause]
- Memories.
It looks great.
- Well, yours look like
you walked in with it, so--
- OK.
Perfect.
- So now I would like
to hear Mark and Susan.
- So ultimately,
I chose Patrick.
- I agree.
[applause]
- Are we ready to hear
who Tori has chosen?
[applause]
- Through this
experience, I definitely
did have a spark with someone.
And so, with that
being said, I choose--
Patrick.
- (SINGING) We're on a journey
with no limits abound
Been chasing this spark,
but now it's been found
You've never seen
anything like this
- Hi, Patrick.
- Hi.
- We're so happy
that you're here.
How does it feel to be here?
This is all
of Tori's community.
Ho- Pleasantly surprising.e?
I had no idea what
to expect with all this.
I've never been on a blind
date before, let alone
meet the parents before.
But here we are.
So--
- It was, like,
kind of a landslide.
You've got a lot
of fans in the audience.
How did the date go for you?
I think it went
really smoothly.
I mean, we talked about
a little bit of everything.?
- So it felt easy.
- Yeah.
- Like, you felt a good
flow with each other?
- Absolutely.
- I'm so happy I met Patrick.
I'm also so happy for the
experience and everything
that I learned about myself.
- Susan, now that you've
met Patrick in person,
what do you think of his style?
- Oh, really?
You're gonna make me go there?
Nicely done.
- OK.
You're Susan approved!o there?
Nicely done.
[applause]
Patrick, what do you think
might be the next step?
Maybe you'll get
her phone number
Patriand you guys canthink
miwork something out?p?
- That's the plan.
Yep.
Guys, second date
has been secured
- You mean we're not invited?
- No.
[applause]
[music playing]
- From this experience,
I'm really hoping
to gain love in all forms.
- F- This is Patrick.e,
I'm re- Hi.hoping
I've heard about
you already, so--
- Don't believe it all.
- Dating in this age
is honestly so tough.
But in this experience,
I was able to meet you,
and I think it's just
been a wonderful time.
I can't wait to see
what comes of it.
a- I think we shouldt
figure out our next steps
and actually make
this next date happen.
- Yeah, sounds good to me.
- (SINGING) Never seen
anything like this till now
- [chuckles]
- (SINGING) No, you
don't Woo!
Don't be afraid
to let go to be free
Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, ooh.
When we have to go
somewhere and be seen
Oh, oh, oh, oh, ooh
We're on a journey
with no limits abound
Been chasing the spark,
but now it's been found
New power in us that's
breaking all bounds
You've never seen anything
like this till now
