Everyone gets a chance to Perform for the judges.
If they're not up to par, They'll be cut on the spot.

But you got to bring it to that Artistic level so that we can Really, you know, sit back and Appreciate it.
That was the thing.
I mean, i'm sitting here, i'm Marveling at everything you're Doing because I could never do That.
It would be a real sad story.
But I never got to see your face Because you just kept going.

It really tore us apart.

And I feel like I have my Brother back.

When you're looking for stars, All roads seem to lead to Los angeles.
For ballroom couple malene Ostergaard and armen way, it had Been a long journey just to find Each other.
? ?let go Dancing's always been, like, My passion, my everything.
?let go I've worked very, very hard, And I got very good Opportunities.
And I moved to hong kong.
?let go And there I danced with a guy That just did not work out for Me.
I wasn't allowed to be myself There, and I was very lonely.
I was already hard on myself.
You have to be.
So him being hard on me, i Couldn't handle it.
It shocked me more because I was Sure that nothing could take me Down.
I got very, like, rough Depression on me, and i Completely lost my spirit.
It's fine.
It's just-- I just decided that it was time To change and take care of Myself.
So I came to the states, and Then finally, I met armen.
You came last year.
Describe last year's experience For me.
I made it all the way till The end of vegas.
I had a little accident in the Jazz round.
I technically dropped my Partner.
Oh! You can never put anybody in Danger.
If you don't have the right Behavior, you're gone.
I don't care how damn good You are.
So how long have you been Dancing together? Around six months.
And was that the first time, Again, you felt Yes.
"ooh, i'm enjoying this"? It was.
Armen makes me a better dancer Because he accepts that I want To be me, and he doesn't try to Change that.
And he's very supportive.
He's very sweet.
He definitely is the best Partner i've ever had.
I can say the same.

You're, like--you're almost Winning, you're at the end, but You hurt something really bad, You know.

Joining mary and nigel on The panel is prima ballerina Misty copeland.
Her first dance class was at age 13 at a local boys and girls Club.
But misty has gone on to Become only the second ever African-american soloist for the American ballet theatre and one Of the most recognized ballet Dancers in the world.
This is where you let Everything go, and you show who You are.
You show that you are enjoying Yourself and love what you do.
I think that's what we're going To notice as star quality.
Warming up and getting ready For her shot onstage was Bridget whitman.
I am 19 years old.
I'm from tempe, arizona.
And I have three brothers, And I am the only girl.
Being the only girl, I was The princess.
I was daddy's little girl.
A Great Big World's When I was 12 years old, he was Killed in a car accident with my Two older brothers in the car.
My brothers were okay, but my Dad didn't make it.
I don't think i've ever felt as Much pain ever in my life than That moment.
?anywhere I would have ?followed you ? ?it was over my head ?i know nothing at all My dad was the ultimate stage Dad.
He was at every competition, Every recital, every Performance.
He was my biggest fan.
?you're the one ?that I love There's never been a moment Since he's been gone that I have Not felt him there.
The last memory I have of him, We were actually watching So you think you can dance Together, and I was just telling My dad how amazing they are And how one day I want to dance Just like them, and he said, "if you put as much effort and Dedication as I know you can Into dancing, if you push and You follow your dreams, you can Get there one day.
" Okay.
She got me.

My mom was a cheerleading Coach when I was a child.
I was, like, two or three, And she'd be like, "oh, my gosh, Stanley, let me see your split, Let me see your splits.
" I remember very few details of Her and, like, what she was like Because she passed away When I was four years old.
What happened to her? She had a heart attack.

It was halloween, so I was Having fun.
And I was showing off for these Two girls, dancing, and their Boyfriend was right behind them.
And he got mad, And he just started shooting.

Went to the hospital, they Said they were about to amputate My leg, but the pulse came back, So by the grace of god, I'm still dancing today.
It made me appreciate life, Actually.
Right after that I went to Church every day, worked hard, And here I am.

And I moved to hong kong.

I wasn't allowed to be myself There, and I was very lonely.

I got very, like, rough Depression on me, and i Completely lost my spirit.

So I came to the states, and Then finally, I met armen.

I made it all the way till The end of vegas.
I had a little accident in the Jazz round.
I technically dropped my Partner.

Whoo! Looking on, chicago-born Stanley glover certainly had A story to tell.
My mom was a cheerleading Coach when I was a child.
I was, like, two or three, And she'd be like, "oh, my gosh, Stanley, let me see your split, Let me see your splits.
" I remember very few details of Her and, like, what she was like Because she passed away When I was four years old.
What happened to her? She had a heart attack.
Yeah, and I happened to be Laying right there next to her When she had it in her sleep.

? My mom was really good friends With a woman named margaret Chamberlain.
She took guardianship, and she Was the one who raised me.
Margaret chamberlain Changed my life.
She made me feel like I was A part of their family ?you'll be okay ? ?just look inside And not once did I feel Out of place.
They brought me in and just Filled me with all this love And care, and i'm just so Thankful for it.

I feel like every dancer has A story to tell.
About four years ago, I was on 14th street union square.
It was halloween, so I was Having fun.
And I was showing off for these Two girls, dancing, and their Boyfriend was right behind them.
And he got mad, And he just started shooting.
You got shot? Yeah, I got shot twice in my Knee.
Are you serious? Yeah.
Went to the hospital, they Said they were about to amputate My leg, but the pulse came back, So by the grace of god, I'm still dancing today.
It made me appreciate life, Actually.
Right after that I went to Church every day, worked hard, And here I am.
