MARVEL Spider-Man (2017) s01e20 Episode Script

Spider Island (Part 2)

No one is sure what caused this outbreak, but recent data suggests that nearly 90 percent of Manhattan Island appears to have acquired spider powers.
And are New Yorkers upset? According to our sources, most people are thrilled.
Back to you, Bob.
So, yesterday, there were only three people with spider powers Me, Miles, and Gwen.
Today 1.
5 million.
What could possibly go wrong? Hey, watch where you're sticking, buddy.
[Grunts.]
People work in this building.
A city full of amateur spider-men.
This has gotta be Harry Osborn's worst nightmare.
[Beeps.]
Hey, Harry.
It's Pete.
[helicopter approaching.]
Just wanted to check in and see how you're dealing with all these spider people.
Have you come down with any symptoms, or is the mask still helping? Call me back.
[Woman screaming.]
Don't worry.
There's a professional spider in the house.
Huh? Aahh! Spider-Gwen? [music.]
Always gotta be careful when you're webbing through the city.
[bystanders exclaiming.]
- Oh, that's her! - That's her! Oh, come on.
Now you're all just embarrassing me.
[laughing, whooping.]
- There you are.
- It's official.
Everyone loves you.
- I feel like they barely tolerate me.
- It's your creepy costume.
It's creepy? Oh, why? Is the spandex too tight? Do red and blue clash? I made the eyes too small, didn't I? Wow.
Didn't realize I triggered your spider-insecurities power.
Whoa! Huh.
[Gasps.]
Seriously, a city full of spiders is a recipe for disaster.
[chuckles.]
Have a little faith in New York.
You and I turned these powers into something good.
Everyone else might too.
Unless someone also has spider-jealousy powers I didn't know about.
I'm not jealous.
It's just having powers isn't all fun and games.
It's not? Relax, Spidey.
Today's a beautiful day.
I doubt there will be any big problems.
[explosion.]
[gasps.]
Commenting on how there won't be any big problems? Total rookie mistake.
- Whoa! What hit that thing? - I did, kid.
The name's Crossbones.
And that's what I call a creepy costume.
There's no chance this is all a misunderstanding, and that explosion was an accident, right? Really? The guy has a skull face.
Eh, I don't want to jump to conclusions.
No kids in their pajamas are gonna stop Crossbones.
But I could use a good laugh watching you try.
- [sighs.]
Conclusion officially jumped to.
- Let's do this, Spidey.
No.
You don't have enough experience.
Leave this to me.
Did you forget we fought that Stealth Spider guy together? But that was different.
I [grunts.]
You both talk too much.
[knuckles cracking.]
Gwen, save that driver.
I'll distract Crossbones.
Now, that sounds like a plan.
[grunts.]
[grunts.]
Hey! - [Spider-Man grunts.]
Huh? - Have a nice [grunts.]
trip! [grunting.]
Really? I think you got a little bacon or something in your teeth.
Trust me, I thought about not saying anything.
[grunts.]
Let's get you outta here.
[gasps.]
Why'd everybody in this city get spider powers 'cept me? Maybe you're a late bloomer.
[grunts.]
Whoa! [Yelling.]
[Gwen grunting.]
[yells.]
[groans.]
[grunts.]
You sure you still want me to sit this one out? [sighs.]
You know, sometimes I say stupid things.
Enough! No amateurs are gonna keep me from taking what I want! "Amateurs"? I prefer "exuberant young newcomers who are willing to give it their best shot.
" [yells, grunts.]
[grunting.]
[grunts.]
Huh.
Who you calling "amateur" now? [laughs.]
[chuckling.]
[grunts.]
I'll tell you what, getting around this city's never been easier now that we got these webs.
Same with arresting perps.
Thanks, Spider-Gwen.
- Oh, and, uh, you, too, Spider-Man.
- Huh! Our work's done here.
No reason for us to "stick around.
" - [chuckles.]
Get it? - Ho-ho! That's funny.
Stealing my quips too.
Do I have anything left? Well, what's this? Heavy.
And this device looks like it's made from Vibranium? Whoa.
This is potentially dangerous.
- Then we should - Take it to an expert.
[web shooter deploys.]
Wait! Wait, wait, wait, wait! Spider-Gwen, hold up! [grunts.]
I was going to say, "Take it to the police.
" You know, like a responsible superhero would do.
And where will the police take it? To Horizon, where we have one of the only Vibranium-scanning microscopes in the world.
If Crossbones wanted it, it could be some kind of weapon.
So time is of the essence.
I'm just cutting out the middleman.
I still don't think this is a good idea.
Contaminating evidence and all that? - When did you become such a wet blanket? - Hey! First my costume's creepy, and now I'm a wet blanket? Huh.
Is that what people really think of me? - Okay, I'll lead the way.
- Hmph.
It's okay.
- I'm the one who goes to this school.
- Oh, yeah Right.
[girl screams.]
[Crash.]
[gasps.]
That's Anya! Something's wrong! Anya, are you okay? Where are you? [Anya.]
This is so weird.
[Gasps.]
How do you live like this? [grunts.]
Whoa! This is the worst.
Trust me, I had the same problem at first.
There was this whole pigeon situation that's better left unsaid.
It's like learning to walk.
One foot and hand over the other.
- Then relax and release.
- If you say so.
[grunting.]
[grunts.]
Ow.
This will take some getting used to.
You always wanted spider powers.
Trust me, it'll be awesome.
We can all be like Spider-Man.
[half-heartedly.]
Hooray.
So, Anya, we came across something, and you're the only expert I know.
Huh.
This looks like pure Vibranium.
Do you have any idea how rare this is? As rare as having spider powers used to be? Mm mm Ugh! [Grunting.]
[clatters.]
Oops.
A micro-encrypted key.
The type used by high-security government installations.
We shouldn't even be touching it.
[singsongy.]
Told ya.
What Hmm? [beeping.]
[blows landing.]
[Gwen.]
Ow! - Huh? [Groaning.]
- Come on! - I'll be taking this.
- Black Widow? Spider-Man.
Iron Man has a file on you.
Says you have potential.
But all I'm seeing is a kid who stole high-security government tech.
It's not what it looks like! We were trying to help! That Vibranium is a key.
What's it used for? We're in the process of determining that.
But this is Avengers' business.
Leave it up to the professionals.
Don't move! The key! Hand it over! Hydra agents? Like, real, live Hydra agents? - This is seriously bad, right? - Hydra's formidable, but so am I.
Do you goons seriously believe you can handle me? It seems you're missing some intel.
Hydra's got some upgrades.
Hydra too? Is anyone not a spider? [grunting.]
The Avengers can make some pretty solid handcuffs, but a little spider strength should do the trick.
[grunts.]
[grunts.]
[grunts.]
[grunting.]
[grunts.]
How do you - This is not as easy as I thought it'd be.
- [grunts.]
Don't worry.
- Aahh! - I'll train you on the fly.
Or, you know, on the spider.
- Is making stupid jokes part of it? - [grunts.]
No.
[grunting.]
Lesson one: Use your environment to your advantage.
[grunting.]
Office equipment! Take that! [laughs.]
Eat desk! [Yells.]
Is that using your environment? A whole desk? You seem to have spider strength down.
Hmm! [all grunting.]
Get that key! Crossbones will be pleased with With what? Your failure? [grunts.]
Check it, Anya! Spiders can use every surface.
[Groans.]
See that web shot? It's all in the wrist.
I'm open! [grunting.]
Anya, you're up! Keep away! [grunts.]
[screaming in distance.]
[grunts.]
Black Widow is down, and you amateurs are no match for - Wow! It is all in the wrist.
- Told ya.
That's it! Destroy them! [yells.]
What? There's no way she could [yells.]
[groans.]
[grunts.]
- [gasps.]
She is so amazing! - And even stronger than I thought.
[grunting.]
[grunts.]
Oh, that explains it.
She's now Spider-Black Widow.
That seems a little redundant.
You say redundant, I say awesome! I know it's a little confusing at first, but since I'm kind of the only spider power expert in the world, let me show you how to [grunting.]
[grunting continues.]
[crying out.]
[yells.]
[grunts.]
Aahh! I think I got the hang of it.
[both gasping.]
- Yeah.
[Chuckles.]
Guess so.
- What do we do now? [grunts.]
We get some information.
What? Where am I? I'll be asking the questions here, dirtbag.
Time for you to sing like a canary.
- What are you doing? - [Spider-Man.]
An interrogation.
Don't worry.
I've seen tons of cop shows.
Answer me, or this'll go on your permanent record! Uh, he can't answer if you haven't asked any questions.
Hydra agents are international criminals.
- I doubt they care about their permanent records.
- Oh.
[Chuckles.]
I guess spider-interrogation isn't a power.
Okay.
I'll tell you everything.
Really? [chuckles, clears throat.]
[stern voice.]
Okay.
What's the key for? It goes to the National Vibranium Reserve.
Why does Crossbones need that much Vibranium? I I don't know.
But with everybody in the city getting powers, it's chaos.
He hatched a plan to rob the vault in all the confusion.
See? I'm not such a bad interrogator after all.
- I've seen worse.
- [Gasps.]
How long were you standing there? [groans.]
[Black Widow.]
During secure missions, Hydra operates under strict radio silence.
The rest of Hydra won't know Crossbones got caught, and they'll still head for the vault.
So if we beat them there, we can set a trap! - "We"? - Sure.
You can totally come.
I don't think that's what she meant, Spidey.
- I think she's planning on a solo mission.
- Oh, come on! We were the ones that took down Crossbones and got the key.
Let us be your backup.
You might actually need some help.
Fine.
But I call the shots.
Also, someone stays here to keep an eye on these Hydra troops until they can be taken in.
I'll do that.
These spider powers are still weirding me out.
I need more practice before I battle Hydra again.
I guess we're leaving.
Believe it or not, this is my first vault break-in.
But I've broken into prison before, so I can handle this.
Don't worry about me, Wido [Hydra goon over earpiece.]
Trust me, he'll be here.
The boss'll make sure Crossbones is never heard from again.
Okay, our plan to beat Hydra here is a big fail.
- Now what? - Change of tactics.
They mentioned a boss.
Hydra clearly has a bigger plan in play.
We need more surveillance.
I bet your spy phone is loaded with games, huh? 'Cause spying seems like a lot of boring waiting.
- If you consider saving the world boring.
- Fair enough.
Believe me, espionage is never dull for very long.
[Crossbones chuckling.]
[Black Widow.]
Look out! [Grunts.]
Crossbones with spider powers? That's kind of unfair.
You were right, Spider-Brat.
I was a late bloomer.
Those cops found out the hard way.
[grunts.]
[grunts.]
[groans.]
I got him.
You two handle the others.
- Others? - [Hydra goon.]
Hail Hydra! Like they say, it's not a party until the spider-powered evil army arrives! [all grunting.]
Level playing field.
How's it feel to be like everyone else? Can't say I'm a big fan.
[grunts.]
[grunts, groans.]
[both grunting.]
One of these targets took the Vibranium vault key.
Get it! [grunts.]
- Pull a stall-drop.
- A what-what? I left my spy dictionary at home.
We take a dive.
Follow my lead.
She wants us to lose? On purpose? That idea sounds [grunts.]
How do you say terrible.
[grunting.]
[both grunting.]
[groans.]
Aah! [Groans.]
Not the first time I've had an Avenger at my feet.
And it won't be the last.
Uh, without Black Widow, what are we going to do?! Uh she was our leader! We surrender.
[Crossbones.]
Here we go, the key to Hydra's plans, and to my fat bank account.
Thanks for bringing this back.
Very helpful of you.
[clanging.]
That's even more Vibranium than the boss thought.
This job just keeps getting better.
[pigeons cooing.]
[aircraft approaching.]
[Black Widow.]
What do you plan to do with us, Crossbones? Two teenage heroes fine.
But a captured Avenger too? I'm expecting a pretty rich bonus for throwing you into the deal.
[chuckles.]
Why'd you bring the key? Aren't you supposed to be some kind of expert? I've been a hero, like, five months, and I already know bad idea.
Because now Crossbones is giving us a free ride to his leader.
And I need to know who it is.
[Spider-Man.]
It's Hydra.
We already know that.
- But which faction? - There are different factions? We bust this unit, another one just pops up.
But we bust the guy at the top, the whole plan fails, and the world becomes a safer place.
[beeps.]
- I didn't think about it like that.
- It's okay.
You're still new at this.
Okay! That guy totally has a TV face in his body.
I am so out of my league.
Arnim Zola.
Now we know.
Oh, I see you've led my troops to victory, Crossbones.
Pure Vibranium.
You'll finally be able to forge the unbreakable weapons you've been designing.
So, naturally, this won't be cheap.
Look at that.
Your plan worked.
Now can we fight? I like how you think.
[Grunts.]
[gasps.]
Sorry to break up this party, Zola.
- Sorry, not sorry! - Crossbones Don't worry.
I'll contain them.
Hydra! [grunting.]
[music.]
[grunts.]
[groans.]
[grunts.]
Nice try.
[both grunt.]
[groans.]
[grunting.]
[yells.]
[grunts, chuckles.]
[grunts.]
[grunting.]
Aah! I gotcha! [grunts.]
Or not! [grunting.]
[grunts.]
You're done! Surrounded or not, we won't make it easy on you, Zola.
A pitiful attempt by a pitiful group of [grunts.]
- [man.]
You mess with one spider - [woman.]
You mess with all of them! [all exclaiming.]
[grunting.]
[growling.]
[gasps.]
[grunting continues.]
- What's going on here? - We saw footage from the news chopper.
We knew you were in trouble.
You webbed my daughter out of the way of a speeding car, Spidey.
You saved her life.
And you pulled me from a burning building.
Now that we have powers, too, it's time we paid you back.
[emotional voice.]
They like me.
They really like me! [normal voice.]
Spiders, let's do this! [grunting.]
[music.]
Hey, Hydra, guess I've got a team now too! [grunts.]
[groans.]
Hydra, retreat! - Huh? - You ruined a big score for me.
Hands off! That's our friendly neighborhood hero.
[grunting.]
I can take down [groans, grunts.]
[both grunt.]
[car alarm blaring.]
[groaning.]
Now who talks too much, Bonehead? Your fan club managed to capture the Hydra troops that didn't escape with Zola.
Nice work.
- Yeah! - Yes! [whooping.]
I don't know how to thank you all.
Thank us? We should thank you.
With everyone getting powers, you're more important than ever.
You showed us all this isn't scary or weird.
We actually could be heroes.
- Yeah! - Yes! I'll admit it.
I'm impressed.
For accidentally stumbling into victory? 'Cause I'm very good at that.
For inspiring people.
Stark told me we should keep an eye on you.
I'm surprised to say I agree.
[web shooters deploy.]
[music.]
- [whooping.]
Yeah! - Up here! You know, you were right, Gwen.
This is a good thing.
- I knew you'd come around.
- [woman.]
Help me! Help! Looks like a job for your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Gwen.
How about you take this one? No problem.
You know, maybe an island full of spider people isn't gonna be as bad as I thought.
- Here ya go, ma'am.
- Ohhh! Another day, another victory.
I could get used to this.
What? [Groans.]
Something's happening [crying out.]
[music.]
