Terminator Salvation: The Machinima Series (2009) s01e02 Episode Script

Episode 2

WOMAN: Are you alive? MAN: I think.
LAZ: What is that thing? BLAIR: Machine, bipedal.
Slow as hell, but kills like a tank.
Can you do what you did in the subway? Don't know.
I need the right gear.
You destroyed mine.
BLAIR: Let's go! BLAIR [IN VOICE-OVER.]
: This is a city of ghosts and I had been sent to find one.
A machine that was crushing Command's systems cutting us off from each other.
Skynet was changing.
Evolving.
We were on the wrong end of evolution.
The Resistance was fracturing.
Hope was lost.
But a ghost was about to change all that.
- We safe? - I am.
They told us there's people like you out there.
Never thought I'd meet one.
What is it you think I am? Sold your soul to the machines.
You have no idea what you're talking about.
How do you know so much about them? Because I'm not a military kill-freak looking to bomb the world to hell.
- I know a collaborator when I see one.
- You know nothing.
You come down there and almost get torn apart and then destroy everything I have.
Besides, you're the one pointing a gun at a human.
My orders are to eliminate the disruption.
You even talk like a machine.
You pull that trigger, you're nothing but.
You hear the stories of what Command does to people like you? Sure you have.
Even in your hole.
[GRUNTS.]
I watched The Ghost fight for his life.
He was going to lose.
I was ready to walk away.
If I did, my mission was technically complete.
But what he did in the subway, I'd never seen.
Command needed to see it too.
I had to protect him even if it got me killed.
LAZ: Why'd you do that? BLAIR: You're an asset.
You can be ours and live.
Or you can stay out here and die.
MAN [OVER RADIO.]
: Sergeant 23, come in.
Sergeant 23, do you copy? This way.
Sarge 23, report status.
You're off radar, report coordinates.
BLAIR: Resistance support, human.
- Signal for rescue.
- Sarge 23, respond.
Sarge 23, come in.
He's dead for sure.
BLAIR: You're killing innocent Resistance fighters.
LAZ: I didn't crash this plane.
Maybe you don't work with the machines, but you're doing their job for them.
All I knew was the algorithm bought me some time with those things.
The blackouts were just a byproduct.
Uncontrollable.
You can't separate two systems when at their core they are the same thing.
Oh, can the hacker theory.
Innocent people are dying because of you.
Let's get out of here.
What a waste.
You could've been a fighter.
A member of the Resistance.
But instead, you sabotage us.
You don't know anything about me.
I know that you could be valuable.
But you don't care what you destroy.
I also know you're dehydrated.
Your skin is like rubber and you're delusional.
I don't need I'm I'm I'm fine, I'm fine.
We need to find you water or you'll die.
Your system is crashing.
LAZ: You're right.
I like to tear things apart, break down the system.
The Resistance thinks if we just bomb the hell out of these things we'll be all right.
You fire everything you've got and walk away and you learn nothing.
You know nothing about your enemy.
BLAIR: How old were you when it happened? Twelve.
They took everything from me.
The Resistance wants everyone to fight a war they started.
BLAIR: Skynet started this war.
LAZ: Only knowing what you're told is an ugly trait.
Open your eyes.
It's all the same thing.
BLAIR: The Resistance is nothing like Skynet.
LAZ: It wasn't always like that.
Well, soon you'll be able to see for yourself.
This is the outpost.
They're looking for something.
Command, this is Williams.
Outpost sustained massive casualties.
Requesting evac immediately.
Command, this is Williams.
We are under heavy fire.
Delay evac.
Too hot.
Can you shut that down? LAZ: Never tried with a 600.
We'll see.
BLAIR: So that works.
How much time we have? LAZ: Thirty seconds, maybe.
