The Amazing Chan
Come on, Hareem!
[announcer] Car number 13,
driven by Prince Hareem,
has taken a tremendous lead!
Go, Prince! Keep it cool,
and this race is a piece of
cake!
I trust you are not offended
by my son's mystifying language.
Certainly not, Mr. Chan.
But I will be happy
when this race is over.
It is most urgent that Prince
Hareem be home tomorrow
to sign some important papers.
There appears to be no cause
for concern.
True.
Still, these papers concern
the security of our country.
And there are those who
would rather the prince
did not sign them.
Now!
I hear and obey.
Prince Hareem is ours,
my master.
[cheering]
[announcer] Prince Hareem
continues to lead the field!
In second place is Count
Yegesh, in car number six.
- Who is this Count Yegesh?
- Prince Hareem's
most bitter rival.
In politics as well as racing.
It's a two-man battle.
Coming out of the final curve,
it's still neck and neck.
It's between Prince Hareem
and Yegesh!
Hareem is still in the lead,
but Yegesh is gaining!
- Faster, Prince, faster!
- Move that buggy!
It's a two-man race between
Prince Hareem and Yegesh!
They're coming down the stretch,
head to head!
- Come on, Hareem!
- You can do it, Mr. Prince!
Prince Hareem in car number 13
is the winner!
- What a beaut of a race!
- Yeah, that prince is a
fantastic driver.
Boy, that's what I'm gonna be,
a racing car driver.
Woman racer? Forget it.
Congratulations, Hareem.
I knew you could do it.
Your Majesty has triumphed
again.
[man] A precautionary measure.
No one can get near him now.
[Charlie] Most efficient.
My felicitations, Prince Hareem.
This time the victory is yours.
A most satisfactory conclusion,
Henry.
Your friend has won,
as you knew he would.
- Yeah, but there's something
funny going on.
- Oh?
I've known the prince for years,
yet he looked at me
as though he didn't even
recognize me just now.
Perhaps he is tired.
Maybe.
But I've got a strange feeling
something is wrong.
[rock music plays]
Who done it?
Who done it?
Who came and stole
my heart away
Who done it?
Who done it?
Who made me feel this way?
I'm looking through
my magnifying glass
I won't let the smallest clue
get past
Don't you know there's
been a robbery?
And though I'm not
complaining
The victim's no one
else but me
Oh, who done it?
Who done it?
Who came and stole
my heart away?
Who done it?
Who done it?
Who made me feel this way?
I'm searching high and low
with my fine-toothed comb
Crime don't pay much
That's a fact that's known
Girl, I'll get you
Won't let you go free
And I set your sentence
To a life of loving me
Oh, who done it?
Who done it?
Who came and stole
my heart away?
Who done it?
Who done it?
Who made me feel this way?
Who done it?
Who done it?
Who came and stole
my heart away?
- Who done it?
- [knocking]
Please, is your father in?
[Charlie] Here,
Mr. Prime Minister.
- You must help me, Mr. Chan!
- Of course.
- What has happened?
- Prince Hareem has disappeared!
- No fingerprints on the wheel.
- Of course not!
Whoever put the snatch on the
prince used gloves.
Maybe the prince wasn't
kidnapped.
Maybe he's suffering
from "magnesia."
- You mean amnesia.
- Yeah! That's what I mean!
The prince could have lost
his memory, Scooter.
Or perhaps someone merely
wishes us to think so.
- Surat, I'll bet, that's who.
- How do you know?
Scar, shifty eyes, and who can
get cozier with the prince.
Watch it!
That could be hot!
I doubt it. Someone wishes
to tell us something.
It's Prince Hareem's scarf.
With a note pinned to it!
Five gets you ten
it's a note from the goons!
Quite correct.
"Do not attempt to call police.
The prince will be released
unharmed in 48 hours."
Forty-eight hours is too late!
The prince must sign the
security papers tomorrow,
or our country is
in great danger!
Look, Pop! There's something
on the bottom of the scarf!
- Excellent observation.
- [boy] Can you make it out,
Pop?
Yes, it's a word.
"Osiris."
- Osiris? What does it mean?
- Osiris is the mythological god
of the underworld.
Has the prince been found?
Not yet, but you needn't pretend
concern, Count Yegesh.
- You are no friend of his.
- Perhaps not.
But I wish him no harm.
My only desire is to defeat him
in racing.
- That's our man, Stanley.
- You think so?
Of course. Who would stand to
gain most if the prince
were out of the way?
He is not to be trusted.
In a matter of this gravity,
no one is to be trusted.
But there's no evidence the
prime minister is the culprit.
Precisely why we're going to
borrow his attache case.
Obviously, the evidence
rests inside.
- You all know your parts?
- Uh-huh.
[both] Right!
Chu Chu.
[Tom] Alan, take off.
[barking, wailing]
Police, police!
- [Chu Chu wailing]
- [Alan] Police, police!
Now, for the fog bubble.
Now to prove that Haji
is the culprit.
- It's just paper.
- Good going, Nancy.
- You picked up our own case.
- An infallible plan.
- Perfect in every detail.
- Except for one thing:
it didn't work.
[gulps]
- See anything?
- Uh-uh. It's too dark.
It should be. You're wearing
both our sunglasses.
Hey, that does help.
We've got to get into the field.
Let's convert to dune buggy.
[Stanley] OK, Chan Plan Eight!
I said "dune buggy,"
not "moon buggy."
[chuckles] Sorry about that.
Chan Plan Eight coming up.
Tally-ho!
What are you doing?
Following that rabbit.
It might be a clue.
[Henry] A clue?
Will you stop that!
Sorry, chief.
We just lost our clue.
It ducked into
that roll of canvas.
[both] Roll of canvas?
- What is it?
- A piece of canvas.
I know that!
But what's it for?
With that line
it looks like a rolled-up road!
[snaps] That's it!
A phony road!
You know what we do now,
don't you?
- Call the Auto Club? Yeah.
- No!
We tail Count Yegesh
to where he's got Prince Hareem!
[Stanley] Oh.
Sh! You'll blow the whole bit.
You think Prince Hareem
is here someplace?
[Flip] Gotta be!
[chuckles]
Better give us a disguise
so Yegesh won't recognize us.
[Stanley] Right.
How about this one?
No, you dumb-dumb!
The van! Hit Chan Plan 11!
- OK, OK. Don't get surly.
- Sheesh!
[buzzer sounds]
Dolly's Diaper Service.
Pretty clever, huh?
He'll never figure us
for detectives.
- There he is.
- [engine revving]
[Stanley] Move it, Henry!
We don't wanna lose him!
[Henry] If we lose him,
Hareem may lose his country!
Nancy! Will you cut it out?
I didn't do it.
He did it.
Watch it, will you, fella?
Yikes!
Uh-oh!
[machinery whirring]
He's getting too far ahead.
Hit Chan Plan Six.
[buzzer sounds]
Oh, boy! No we'll show him
a thing or three! Or four.
- [Stanley] Stay with him,
Henry!
- [bell dinging]
[Henry] We're closing in!
[Stanley] Henry!
Look out!
- Yikes!
- [engine revving]
- Where'd he go?
- I don't know.
But this must be where they're
hiding Hareem.
What's that in the corner?
Must be the guard.
Let's take him!
[grunting]
Some guard.
It's only a hat rack.
[Henry] Somebody's here.
It's got my leg!
Now it's got both of 'em!
Help, Henry!
Will you stop clowning around
and get out of those boxes!
[Stanley] Yow!
Meow.
Henry, this room is moving.
[stammering] Don't be silly.
Rooms don't m-m-move!
[crashing]
Ah. It's the young Chans.
What brings you to
Rama's Old Indian Restaurant?
Uh, we just thought we'd drop in
for dinner.
Uh, hi there. Uh, we were just
looking for the prince.
You will not find him here.
But the door is always open
to any friend of the prince.
His name is Saladin, and he's
Hareem's favorite hunting bird.
Dig those crazy fingernails.
The amazing thing about Saladin
was that he could find Hareem
anywhere.
Let's hope he can find him now.
If this beeper works,
he should.
- [cawing]
- Go, Saladin!
- Go find Hareem!
- [caws]
We're still following
Saladin.
The question is, where?
[beeping]
- We're headed for the harbor.
- You're right. I see seagulls.
One of those seagulls
better be Saladin.
[beeping]
- Anybody see anything?
- No.
But the beeper's still going.
Saladin is around here
somewhere.
- [beeping]
- [caws]
Hey, there's Saladin!
[beeping]
The prince must be on that ship!
Good old Saladin.
He sure did his part.
Now we've gotta do ours.
This is unit one to unit two.
Report your position.
This is unit two. Moving toward
the captain's bridge.
Unit one in engine room.
Over and out.
Unit one to unit three.
Report your position.
This is unit three
in aft lifeboat.
- [Stanley] What's aft?
- The opposite of fore.
- [Stanley] What's fore?
- Forget it.
Engine room,
come in unit one.
- [whistles]
- Yow!
- Cut that out, unit one.
- Come on, Stanley.
- Quit fooling around.
- Sh!
Let's get him.
Perfect!
[Alan] Hey, let me out of here!
Sorry, Alan.
We didn't know it was you.
Next time, ask!
Stanley, I thought I told you
to quit fooling around.
- What did you say, Henry?
- [muffled growling]
[both] Yow!
[growling]
Someone's trying
to frighten us!
He's doing it!
He's doing it!
OK, it's time for us
to move in.
[Mimi] Stanley, I thought
you were with Henry.
- [moaning]
- That's not Stanley!
[moaning]
[Nancy] Yow!
That Nancy's always
having accidents.
I know, but why do the rest
of us have to be in on them?
There's the prince!
You're right.
- Come in, unit one.
- [Henry] Unit one reporting.
Have located prince's room
on deck C amidships.
- Roger.
- Come in, unit two.
[Scooter] Unit two reporting.
Prince stashed
just below radio room.
Neato! We're in the radio room!
A screwdriver might just
let us drop right in.
All right, Chu Chu. Go!
[barking]
- What is this?
- [Henry] It's all right,
Prince.
We've come to rescue you.
And a very fine rescue, indeed.
- Pop! How did you get here?
- There are many roads
to the same place.
- I came by way of Osiris.
- Osiris!
That's what was
on the prince's scarf!
And it is also the name
of this ship.
- [Chu Chu whistles]
- He's getting away!
Not this time.
- [bird screeching]
- Get him, Saladin!
Do you know this man,
Prince Hareem?
I do indeed, Mr. Chan.
He is Zangwil,
master of disguises.
He was hired by our enemies
to keep the prince away
long enough
to serve their purposes.
- But thanks to you,
he failed.
- Don't forget Saladin.
He's really the one
who captured Zangwil.
[screeching]
Wow, what a car!
What a ride!
- It was like flying.
- I'm glad you enjoyed it.
It's my turn now.
May I drive it, Prince Hareem?
[Hareem] Uh, I think you'd
better ask your father.
Can I, Pop? Please?
- I'm afraid not, Anne.
- You let Alan do it
because he's a boy.
I can do anything a boy can do.
[caws]
It's a plot.
I bet he's a boy bird.
[all laugh]
