The Amazing Race (2001) s36e03 Episode Script

It's Not Over Til Phil Sings

1
PHIL KEOGHAN: Previously
onThe Amazing Race
12 teams continued racing
through Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.
I can't believe
we're still racing.
KEOGHAN:
Kishori and Karishma
and Michelle and Sean
made a huge mistake.
I think we got to go.
-This is wrong.
-This one hurts my head.
KEOGHAN:
Twins Anthony and Bailey
got stumped
at the Detour.
We're actually gonna switch
to Balloon Collection.
KEOGHAN:
The heat took its toll
on the teams.
God, it's hot today.
DANNY:
Mom is a little dizzy.
KEOGHAN:
Ricky and Cesar
and Rod and Leticia continued
their battle for the lead
They've been neck to neck
with us this entire time.
KEOGHAN:
ending in victory
for the married couple.
Rod and Leticia,
you are team number one.
Boy, that's what
I'm talking about. Good job.
KEOGHAN:
Meanwhile, father and daughter
Chris and Mary's dream
came to an end.
Sorry to tell you that you have
been
-eliminated from the race.
-Yeah.
Proud of this girl.
She's my rock. She is my life.
KEOGHAN:
The remaining 11 teams
are headed to Colombia,
where they will depart
in three groups
leaving every 15 minutes.

This is the first time
that The Amazing Racehas
visited Guatapé, Colombia,
a place that's been called the
most colorful town in the world.
And you can see why.
Throughout the race, teams
will win Expedia OneKeyCash
that they can use toward unique,
expert-designed adventures.
Today, teams will go
on an Expedia-designed adventure
here in Guatapé, Colombia,
visiting some of this country's
most amazing destinations
and taking part in local
and authentic experiences,
all featured on the Expedia app.
Go. Oh, yeah, baby.
What are we doing? Let's get it.
Route Info.
-"Welcome to Colombia."
-"Welcome to Colombia."
"Climb the stairs to the top
of El Peñón de Guatapé
to find your clue."
El Peñón,
commonly known as the Rock--
it sticks 650 feet
above the ground
which offers spectacular
360-degree views,
something teams will experience
when they climb
all the way up here--
more than 60 stories--
to get a clue.
-CESAR: Go, go, go.
-ROD: This is crazy.
Let's go.
CESAR:
Climb to the top, right?
DEREK:
Is there a elevator up here?
ROD:
We here, baby.
We climbing the mountain.
SHELISA:
Oh, these are so steep.
-DEREK: So steep.
-RICKY: Cesar?
-CESAR: Yes.
-RICKY: Slow down.
-CESAR: How you doing, Ricky?
-I might need a sec.
We're climbing, baby. Let's go.
Just what I like.
I live for this.
-SHELISA: Hey.
-DEREK: Breathe.
My age is kicking in.
DEREK:
I hope they show
all these stairs on TV.
That's a lot of damn stairs.

RICKY:
Trying to keep a nice pace,
keep the breathing
under control,
counting my steps.
CESAR:
This morning,
we're in group one.
RICKY: Having 15 minutes ahead
of the majority of the teams--
if we can keep this 15 minutes
through the day,
we can get first.
CESAR:
Keep going, keep going now.
RICKY:
We've been communicating a lot
about what we've done
in the previous legs,
what we want to do
moving forward, so
CESAR:
We're really resourceful,
I think wherever we are.
RICKY: Yeah, we can kind of
take any situation
and just run with it.
-CESAR:
We share different skill sets,
-RICKY: Yeah.
that it just makes
a great team.
-Ricky, how are you doing?
-I'm okay.
ROD:
Oh, baby.
We just got one straight ahead,
and we're at the top.
You made it like Rocky Balboa.
Coming in first the first
two legs has set the bar high.
But one thing about it--
it's a marathon, not a sprint.
LETICIA:
What was that? That, uh,
rabbit and the turtle?
-ROD: Yes.
-That storybook.
But we're not gonna be
the turtle, okay?
But the turtle end up winning.
He did, but I don't want
to be that slow.
To the top, baby.
Come on, girl.
-Let's go.
-DEREK: Almost there. Look.
-Almost there. Come on.
-Yeah.
CESAR:
Is it there?
-Do you see it?
-RICKY: It's here, baby.
Detour.
One of the best things
about traveling around the world
is experiencing
culinary delights like this--
Colombia's festival of meats--
bandeja paisa.
Packed with rice, beans,
chicharron, eggs,
carne asada, plantains,
arepas, chorizo and avocado.
This Detour requires teams
to cook this savory dish.
They'll be judged
on the authentic presentation
by a trio of localabuelas--
grandmothers who've made
this dish hundreds of times.
The original
Willys Jeep was designed
and made in just 75 days--
a bare-bones vehicle
with no extras.
They're known here
as mechanical mules
because of how vital
they are for local farmers.
They're so revered that
owners pack them to the brim
and show them off
in an annual Yipao parade.
This Detour requires teams
to load one.
When the proud owner feels
they've been properly packed,
they'll hand over a clue.
Teams will get to either side
of the Detour
in one of these high-speed
water taxis.
-We're doing Bandeja Paisa.
-Yes.
-We're gonna cook.
-We're gonna cook.
We out of here, baby. Cook time.
It was so challenging physically
up top that we didn't want
to come down and still do
another physical challenge.
We'd rather just
go do a little cooking.
MELISSA: "Climb the stairs to
the top of El Peñón de Guatapé
-to find your clue."
-Let's go.
-[Amber whoops]
-VINNY: Let's do it.
-Let's go that way.
VINNY:
Switch it up. Use those quads.
Use the railing, please.
AMBER:
You know you're working out good
when you taste blood.
-Temporary pain, baby.
-Yup.
MELISSA:
Push it, Yvo. Push it.
-Come on, Yvo.
-She's a beast.
We're just gonna take it
at Mom's pace.
-That was just
-And so, when we get to the top,
-we feel good to go.
-Taking a minute.
DANNY:
We're trying to be mindful
of how do we pace ourselves.
25 and then break. You got it.
ANGIE:
We just have to recognize
that the physical challenges
are gonna be
where I fall behind.
DANNY:
Doing so good.
ANGIE: It's not just
about the physical challenges
on this race. There's gonna
be opportunities for us
to make up time.
DANNY:
300 to go. She's doing amazing.
SHANE:
Almost there, Juan.
I can see it.
-Is that true?
-Yeah.
Let's go, baby.
SHANE:
That's the top
right there, Juan.
Easy work.
-Ready?
-Okay.
-Let's make some food.
-Okay.
Dude, this is your food, man.
You know how to cook it.
-All right, let's do it.
-What do you think?
Yeah, we're gonna do
Bandeja Paisa.
-I think we'll cook.
-Okay.
-[whoops]
-Right here. Let's go.
-I'm so proud of you.
-Okay.
We're gonna
do some Mama cooking.
Bandeja Paisa, because, uh,
some physical after physical--
not the best combination.
Yeah, not today, so
CESAR: [speaking Spanish]
He's right here, Ricky.
Come on. Come on.
We're in the lead.
"Choose a water taxi driver
who will lead you to a boat.
Once choosing,
you may not switch."
Come on, Ricky. Okay.
-Come on, ChiChi!
Right behind you.
-Whoa, whoa, whoa,
-Whoa. Watch that step
right there, babe.
-Whoa, whoa!
-CESAR: Go, go, go!
-RICKY: Ask.
-SHELISA: Let's go. Let's go!
-Let's go on this thing.
-We're coming right now.
-Come on.
-Gracias.
-The love boat.♪
CESAR:
We're on the boat.
We're doing great.
Take a minute.
-This is so pretty.
-Right here.
-You can cook.
We're gonna be all right.
-Okay.
Beat them. Beat 'em.
[imitates engine revving]
Let's get it, baby!
-"Welcome to Colombia."
-"Climb the stairs to the top
of El Peñón de Guatapé
to find your clue."
-Okay.
-All right. Put this in the bag.
Let's go!
SUNNY:
The third group feels horrible,
but we're gonna
make up time here.
Pace ourselves.
Pace yourself.
BAILEY:
Slow and steady today.
-SUNNY: Are you counting?
-BIZZY: Nope.
SUNNY:
I got a emergency call
that my grandma wasn't
doing so good, and
my grandma passed away
last night, I found out.
My grandma raised me,
and she helped me become
the person that I am.
So, thinking, like,
what would she want me to do?
I got her to go out and do a lot
of adventures with me.
And so, we're here anyways.
Let's just do this day.
This leg's for Grandma.
[Michelle groans]
MICHELLE: We are leaving
-in group three today.
-Uh-huh.
And I feel amazing because
-comebacks are the best.
-Mm-hmm.
MICHELLE:
They light a little fire
under your behind,
so the fire is there.
SEAN:
I'm petrified of heights.
I can't even stand
on the second step of a ladder.
I'm that petrified.
-SEAN: Sorry, fellas.
-Dude, you're fine.
I feel the same. [laughs]
BAILEY: Our first two legs
were a little sloppy.
I think game plan today is
we kind of want to slow it down
and just think
a little bit more.
-But we don't want to get left
in the dust, either.
-Yeah.
There's got to be,
like, a fine line.
-There we go.
-All right.
[mumbles]
[panting]
All right, dude.
BIZZY:
We're here. Detour.
-Load?
-Let's load.
Okay, we're gonna Yipao load.
You want to load,
or what do you want to do?
-I think we should load.
-All right, we'll, uh
We'll do Yipao.
We're gonna cook,
but where the hell
do we have to go to cook?
That's the question.
Probably got to go down
the steps. We know that.
KISHORI: We're gonna
-We're gonna do cooking.
-We're going to do cooking.
KARISHMA: We knew cooking
automatically, just because
the other one was,
like, lifting stuff,
and we were kind of exhausted.
KISHORI: And I was like,
"We're not gonna be able
to lift the cargo
and do all this stuff."
Yeah. It just seemed like
too much.
RICKY:
A little more. Mm, mm, mm.
Un poquito mas.Like,
a little more to the pedal.
They might pass us.
They might pass us.
Right now, our legs
are like spaghettis.
-Cooked spaghettis.
-Cooked spaghetti.
I mean, we just climbed
all of that.
We're on The Amazing Race,baby,
and we out here
trying to be great.
-[laughs] Let's go.
-Oh, my God.
Hey, man, you can't beat
this experience, man.
-I'm here with my wife
in Colombia.
-Colombiana.
And we out here in the water.
We just came from
that crazy mountaintop.
And now we headed
to do some cooking.
My wife do the cooking.
-And you do all the baking.
-And I'm the baker man.
So we both know our way
around a kitchen.
-So that's why
who chose this Detour.
-Yes.
SHELISA:
Look at that.
I can't believe
we just climbed that.
And so, can you imagine
the grandkids going, like
-You know what they would do?
-What'd they do?
"Pick me up. I don't want
to go all the way up again."
[both laughing]
-I'm like your backpack.
-They would cry.
You can carry yourself
up those stairs.
-That's impressive. That was
-That is.
-I'm very proud of ourselves.
Good job.
-Good job, good job.
DEREK:
Lisa and I want
to come onThe Amazing Race
because she had a cancer scare
about three or four years ago.
I still get emotional 'cause I'm
still in the recovery mode.
But I just cherish every day.
This race is a great way
to represent
cancer survivors,
uh, grandparents and retirees.
DEREK:
One day, we'll be
sitting on a porch
and reflecting on our lives,
and this will be
one of our great memories.
We saw this
as an amazing opportunity
to live our lives to the max.
Cap? Oh, Capitán?
Can we go faster?
-All right. Yeah!
-There you go.
-That's what I'm saying.
-Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah!
My man right there.
Hey, look at how fast
they going.
Come on, man. Give it some gas!
Pass 'em! Pass 'em!
-Rápido. Rápido.
-ROD: No, no, no!
We do not come in second.
DEREK:
That's bien, mi amigo.
That's bien.
[laughs]
Muy bien.
SHANE:
We're in your friggin'
birth town, dude.
This is absolutely insane.
It is where you were
friggin' born, dude.
-Yeah, yeah.
-I can't believe it.
In 1999 is when I left here
-to go to the United States.
-I can't believe this.
JUAN:
We're in Colombia right now.
It's where I was born.
The year was 1999 when
my family and I jumped on a jet
and headed to the United States.
I was about seven years old,
and the United States was
an incredible opportunity
that we had.
Our whole family flourished, but
being able to look around and,
you know, actually
recognizing a lot of it is
very near and dear to my heart.
It's definitely good
to see my old country and
show Shane my roots.
I would say being here
is, uh, really bittersweet.
I couldn't be more thankful
that I get to share this
experience with my best friend.
-Um
-Oh. Love you, man.
I can only hope
that soon enough, I can
come here with my wife and bring
my daughter for the first time
so she can meet the place
that I grew up in
and know her roots.
-MELISSA: What do you see?
-YVONNE: Other teams.
[Melissa whoops]
-AMBER: Good job, girls.
-VINNY: Good job, girls.
Thank you.
They ran fast.
[speaking Spanish]
AMBER:
I honestly didn't even know
what Colombia had to offer,
but this is beautiful.
-Look at this lake.
This is huge.
-And the mountains.
Surrounded by mountains.
Oh, there it is.
El Piedra de Guatapé.
AMBER:
I'm not getting last again.
That was not a good feeling.
Today, we're gonna try to use
our brain more than our body.
We're not dropping
rankings today.
If anything we're gonna do today
is we're gonna climb rankings.
Do justice to our name.
Dream team, baby.
CESAR: Okay, enjoy the view
'cause we're gonna
start running again.
-Muchas, muchas, muchas gracias.
-Gracias.
Come on, come on, come on.
Calle.
[Ricky speaking Spanish]
[both speaking Spanish]
32. And this one?
RICKY:
This could be 31.
-CESAR: Calle.You see anything?
-Calle. Calle. Calle.
CESAR:
I think it's
It might be this one.
KEOGHAN: Teams choosing
the Bandeja Paisa Detour
must find their cooking station
by matching the photo
in their clue to azócalo,
unique fresco-like panels
that tell the story of the
people who live and work here.
We need the one with the boats.
This is one, Ricky, over here.
Okay.
"One cup of cooked rice."
Can you see it?
-Mm-hmm.
-"Cook one cup of rice
to two cups of water."
Okay. Just this--
put it on the highest.
Let's do this!
This is like being at work.
I'm a chef.
I do freelance
and I work a lot in catering.
Then at home,
I cook a lot with Ricky.
RICKY:
The key to cooking is timing.
You need to know that rice
is gonna take 15 minutes,
the oil's gonna take
probably ten minutes to heat up.
So you have to plan those things
ahead of time
so when you get there,
it happens all at once,
and the timing is right.
CESAR:
I had four burners.
I have everything working
at the same time.
-Yeah, you got it.
-I know how to do it.
You know what you're doing.
[Danny speaking Spanish]
He's gonna go
super rápidofor us.
-Muy rápido.Gracias, Señor.
-Yay!
-Yay!
-DANNY: Oh, there's that engine.
Yeah, yeah, we'd like
to hear the engine starting.
-[engine grinding]
-Hmm.
-Uh-oh.
-It's okay.
-Not great.
-All right.
-[engine stalling]
No panicking. Really?
-Aw!
-Uh-oh.
ROD:
Let's go, bae.
Let's get it, baby.
-Let's get these bags
out of our way.
-Yeah.
-SHANE:
Grab it. You got it, buddy?
-DEREK: Go.
-SHELISA: All right.
-DEREK: Come on.
Come on.
All right, watch out.
So they ran off this way.
Come on, baby.
Hopping off.
[speaks Spanish]
Gracias, señor.
I'm trying to find Calle 29.
We got to go cook
with the abuelas.
Who in your group
knows how to cook?
-Me.
-Okay.
-Come on, beautiful.
-Oh, my legs hurt so bad.
SHANE:
Just a nice pace, nice pace.
This is Calle 32. Come on.
What street are we supposed
to go?
VINNY:
29. We need to get to 29.
-This is Calle 30.
-Okay.
-So, did we miss it?
-So, 29 will be this way.
-JUAN: More stairs. Yeah. Hello.
-Oh, more stairs.
Fantastic. [sighs]
-That's 30. That's Calle 30.
-JUAN: Oh, look.
-Look at the wall.
This is us right here.
-SHANE: Yeah.
-All right, buddy.
-Right there, right there.
Right there.
Sunflower right there.
DEREK:
There we go. Yes, hola.
Right here. Come on, baby.
I'm your sous chef. Let's go.
ROD:
Right here, baby. Right here,
right here, right here.
-That's a donkey, yeah.
-Okay.
-JUAN: All right, here we go.
-SHANE: Okay.
JUAN: One quarter avocado.
That's easy.
-Can you do that?
You know how
-Yeah, yeah, yeah.
-to cut up an avocado?
-Give me the avocado.
Plantains. Open this up.
Chef Shelisa. Come on, baby.
How you guys doing
over there, Cesar?
We're making it work.
Don't we need vino
in the kitchen?
Yeah. Where's the wine?
All right, Juan, I got one
quarter of an avocado for you.
-Oh, Shane. No, bro.
Longways, longways.
-What?
Oh, well, yeah, he knows.
JUAN:
I know a lot about this dish.
-I cook it at home with my wife.
-Hey, how confident are you?
-I'm pretty confident.
-Good.
I am sous cheffing.
You see me over here.
I'm already prepping,
and let me tell something--
this is what we strong at.
We know how to do this together
and get it going.
So we don't know what to do
until we know
what a chicharron looks like.
-I think we should ask someone.
-Okay. Esa chicharron?
-Arepa?
-Arepa. This is arepa. Find
-[speaking Spanish]
-Chicharron.
-Chicharron. This one.
This is chicharron.
-Okay.
Chicharron is a-is a pork rind.
It's super fatty.
It's definitely delicious.
It's worth the grease.
-Have you made those at home?
You have?
-Yeah.
Okay, seems that we have
more teams now here.
-SEAN: Michelle.
-What?
SEAN: We probably
should load the trucks.
All right, I'm trusting you,
babe. Whatever you decide.
SEAN: I'm actually
a good packer, so
MICHELLE: So, we gonna change.
We are looking
for the water taxi.
I don't I don't know
if it's down here, though.
-ANGIE:
Oh, this makes me so sad.
-DANNY: Oh, come on.
-[engine grinding]
-All righty.
-BIZZY: Okay.
-Biz, you got to be on me
to book it.
Dig deep!
Dig deep!
Looks like we see
team firefighters
coming down right now.
-Let's go.
-Fast one!
There are four teams
behind us right now, but
-Okay. That's it. Yeah.
-Okay?
-[speaking Spanish]
-We get this.
KARISHMA:
We're gonna sit
on the water taxi.
KISHORI:
Oh, yeah, we can rest
on the water taxi.
-KARISHMA: So let's go.
-KISHORI: I'm right behind you.
-Hold the rail, hold
-Let's go, Karishma.
-We're in Colombia.
-Watch your ankle.
There's another team
coming down,
so that makes us
a little nervous.
-Hola.
-Hola.
-Fast. Rapidamente.
-DANNY: Bizzy and Sunny
probably are going to pass us.
Más rápido. Más rápido.
Más rápido.
-Fast, fast, fast, fast!
-Like a race car.
Oh, this is really hard,
when there's
other teams passing.
[engine sputtering]
[engine sputtering]
Oh, come on. Come on, boat!
-All righty.
-Giving you some love.
-ANGIE: Oh, wow.
DANNY: There's nothing
you can do
when you're on The Amazing Race
and your boat dies.
It's like
what a bummer, but
Even if a team passed us
-ANGIE: We're okay.
-we're okay.
-Awesome.
-Kind of like, uh
All right, you got it?
Yeah? Okay. We'll see.
[engine starting]
Oh. That sounds good.
-ANGIE: Hey.
-Ah!
[both whooping]
Never doubted you for a minute.
KISHORI:
This is unreal.
-This is so cool.
-This is gorgeous.
Does Colombia have alligators?
-I don't know.
-I don't know.
Probably. I don't know.
KARISHMA:
I think the last leg
we learned to trust
We didn't trust our gut. We kept
second-guessing ourselves
-Yeah.
-and second-guessing ourselves.
-And we're trusting our gut.
-And this time,
we're trusting our gut,
and so far, it's working.
KISHORI:
But the twins
and the Double Dutchers
are not behind us, which is
-a really good sign.
-So that's a good sign.
-So we made a lot of our time.
-And I think the
-the firefighters must be
right in front of us.
-Yeah.
KARISHMA AND KISHORI:
Catch that boat!
Catch that boat!
You can do it!
SUNNY:
We started in the third group,
and now we're just ahead
of that pack.
We didn't I didn't pass
anybody from the second truck.
So, we're, like,
in eighth, you think?
-Eighth?
-Eleven
We just got to sniff out
those other groups.
And pass somebody in the front
that's not loading well
or not serving food.
ANTHONY:
Water taxi time.
All right, we did it.
We only got super lost.
-This is tough. This is tough.
-This is tough.
-SEAN: But it's fun, though.
-MICHELLE: It is fun.
CESAR: After this,
I need to do the chicharron.
But so far,
we pretty much have the avocado,
-arepas, uh, beans are hot.
-Yeah.
CESAR:
The sausages are
pretty much done.
The meat is almost done,
so we have, like,
-five of the elements I
-RICKY: Yeah.
CESAR: We got it.
We got a head start.
Vince is Filipino
so he does a lot of cooking.
I-I stay out of the kitchen,
so
Give me the picture.
I need the picture close.
-Okay. I need you to calm down.
-I need you
-You're stressing me out.
-I need you to help me.
-Crap, Shane.
-What, dude? What?
The arepa. It's burning.
-Okay, so this one's gone.
-Okay, okay, okay.
-That's okay.
We need another one.
-SHANE: This one survived.
-JUAN: Do you have another one?
-Yeah, I got another.
Juan's got his hands
full right now.
I should have been on top
of the burned arepa,
and I wasn't, so
Oh. Bienor no?
[laughs]
When I'm cooking at home,
I'm just soul cooking.
People are always
asking me for recipes,
and I'm like, "I just am
throwing stuff in there."
Shelisa doesn't allow me
in the kitchen.
We do not cook together
because
-Oh, that's an avocado.
-I sit at home
and have a cerveza
while she's cooking.
-And then I wash dishes up.
What do you need?
-There, uh
-You can do the meat. The meat.
-The meat, the carne.
-Yes.
-This is my specialty.
I'm a barbecue king at home.
Do I have to flour it
or anything or just cook it?
Yeah, that's why No, just
Do you know how to read?
Can you read?
-Oh, you want me to read now?
-Yes.
-I thought I was a sous chef.
-Well, hell.
Okay.
-[speaking Spanish]
-Oh.
-Ooh. Gracias.
-Okay.
Going right up here?
-Yeah, just go.
-We got this.
-DEREK: Looks good, fellas.
-Looking good. Looking good.
-CESAR: How are you guys doing?
-Ah, we're getting there.
I mean, you know, hey, you can't
rush perfection, right?
That's true. That's true.
It's here.
It's this one.
I did not use the measuring cups
because at home
DEREK:
Bon appétit.
I just kind of eye things.
-And you
And you get mad at me
when I measure everything.
And no one's talking to you.
That looks good.
That looks golden.
We got to do this three times.
We have three dishes, baby.
-You understand me?
-Three?
We are almost done.
Presentation here
is super important.
It's where we are gonna
show our eye for detail.
We have to impress
those abuelas.
LETICIA:
One thing I know
about my own abuela--
she does not even play
about the rice pot at home
and what kind of spoon
I use to mix the rice.
So I know grandmas
don't play about food.
RICKY:
Aguacate.Think we're good.
-I think we should try it,
Ricky.
-Okay.
Hopefully, we got it.
-Cesar and Ricky just left.
-Cesar and Ricky just left.
Their plates looked amazing,
but Cesar's a chef, so
And they got here first, so
-we're not doing too bad.
-Than it should have been.
RICKY: Abuelas.
-[Cesar speaks Spanish]
-Oh.
-Sí.Yeah.
-Yes!
-CESAR:
Muchas, muchas, muchas gracias.
-Muchas gracias.
[Cesar speaks Spanish]
Gracias, gracias.
RICKY: "Make your way to"
CESAR: "To the monument
El Cordero de Guatapé"
BOTH:
"and hire one of the market
tuk-tuk taxis to Casa Loma"
[Cesar speaks Spanish]
-CESAR:
"to find your next clue."
-"next clue."
RICKY: It was nice to see
that everybody was still there
when we were leaving.
Nobody
-CESAR: Yup, that was good.
-Nobody looked like they were
-Even close enough.
-even close to finish.
See you. See you.
These guys blew
Bro, I don't know
how they do it so quickly.
ANTHONY: Those stairs just
beat us up a little bit,
but now we're, like, in last,
so maybe we're hoping
we can make up some time
by having some energy left
on these other Detours.
[laughs]
I'm just gonna enjoy
this beautiful view
with my best bro.
Yeah, we're just gonna
live it up on the boat, so
There's no point in panicking.
We're on the water in Colombia!
-Colombia!
-Give it
-Mwah.
-Mwah.
-And
-And we're probably losing.
-Yeah.
-But that's okay.
MICHELLE:
When we get there,
we gonna rock it.
Come on, Ricky. Come on.
Here is the cordero.
Choose one?
So before we choose one
-Let's make sure they know.
-CESAR: Yeah.
CESAR:
We just found out
that we're the first tuk-tuk
-We were the first tuk-tuk
to leave, so
-to leave.
We have a chance at first place.
-Go, go, go.
-Yeah.
Come on.
[speaking Spanish]
That way?
-We are looking for Yipao.
-Oh, yeah.
Watch the water, Mom.
That's Angie and Danny.
-Gracias. No. Come on, honey.
-Are y'all doing cooking?
Yo, we're doing cooking!
Let's work together!
Let's work together!
-Let's wait. We'll wait.
-Danny. Danny, no!
We're not waiting.
-Yeah, okay, perfect, perfect!
-We'll go with you!
-We love them.
We love that team.
-We love them.
-Mom, I love you, and
-Okay, I'm trusting you.
collaborating with people
is important.
-ANGIE:
They can beat us in a foot race.
-That's okay.
-Muchas. Muchas gracias.
-Muchas gracias.We love you.
-Gracias.
-Mi amor.Let's go.
[speaking Spanish]
-No? Sí.
-[woman speaking Spanish]
Let's go.
Willy? Yipao? Yipao?
-BIZZY: I think if we find
the cooking class first
-Sure.
Go that way?
-Oh, this is looking real nice.
-Good, man. Good.
Sí, sí, sí.This is it.
KARISHMA: Right here, Kishori,
right here.
-KISHORI: There we go.
-Let's go, let's go.
-Aquí.
-That's the food one.
-Let's cook.
-Look at. That's
-Oh, my God.
SUNNY:
We're gonna switch and cook.
-Carne asada and chorizo.
-Oh, my God.
That's all right.
Just a couple meats.
I cook a little bit at home.
However,
have never cooked meat before
so I'm a little bit nervous.
-I'm vegan, she's vegetarian.
-I'm vegetarian.
-We've never eaten meat.
-Never eaten meat before.
BOTH: Never cooked meat.
So, we're just like, "Aah!"
We're cooking carne asada
and eggs.
-I only cook eggs. I don't cook.
-I don't cook.
I don't even know what
All I know is
what chicken looks like.
I didn't even know
what pork was.
Oh.
Carne asada and chorizo,
and it's
-Oh, my God.
-That's all right.
It's just a couple meats.
KISHORI:
Fry the chicha
chicharron.
What is chicharron?
I don't know what chicharron is.
KARISHMA:
We can ask Mom and Dad.
We don't eat meat. We don't eat
meat. What's the chicharron?
-We've never cooked meat.
-Oh, the pork.
-Chicharron is this.
-Sorry. Do I cut up the pork?
-DEREK: No. It's just like that.
-Just take it out of bag.
-No. So, look at the picture.
-Okay, this is the chicharron?
-No.
SHELISA:
That's the chicharron.
This is the asada.
-Okay. That's carne asada.
-Yeah. And that's the chorizo.
-Thank you so much.
Thank you. Okay.
-SHELISA: Okay.
-Thanks, Mom and Dad.
We love you.
-Thank you so much.
Aw, we love them.
They're so sweet.
They remind us of our kids.
KARISHMA:
We can do it. We can do it.
-Martha Stewart. Martha Stewart.
-I got it. I got it.
Ugh! That is hot. [laughs]
Aah! That's hot.
-[laughs]
-Don't touch that.
-Ouch. That's hot.
-Yup, mittens.
Mittens are always a good thing.
I mean, that look good, baby.
Ooh, that look like
you know what you're doing.
Do I need to make me a plate?
Oh, my goodness.
You're trying to burn me up.
Rice is part
of the Filipino culture, baby.
We I was
There was three siblings.
My chore every day
was to cook rice.
Shane, this is our chance
to get ahead, bro.
-Yeah, yeah, yeah.
-I cannot I can't blow this.
JUAN:
Dude, you're killing me.
Yeah, you messed that one up.
I've got this. You said
you wanted to do the eggs.
Yup. Nope,
that did not want to
Oh, Danny,
let me do the fried eggs.
I have no idea
how to fry an egg.
Oh Derek.
-Did you make enough rice?
-Nope.
-Damn you!
-It's okay.
SHELISA:
So I thought that they wanted me
to cook one cup of rice and to
spread it out amongst the group,
but it's not. You have to cook
one cup of rice per plate.
-One cup, which is four
-What's the number one rule
of The Amazing Race?
Read the clue.
-SHELISA: I had one job, huh?
-One.
-One. Ugh!
-That's what you get.
Ooh. That's not very nice.
We've made it and now
we're looking for some Willys.
We're pretty far back here
in the pack,
but we're gonna try to keep
a steady pace from here on out.
Ooh, my legs.
-All right, pay attention.
-Where we go?
MICHELLE:
So we're going to load up
Willys offroad vehicle
for the waiting Yipao driver.
-Dude, my legs hurt so bad.
-I know.
My legs are noodles right now.
-I see the twins.
-You see the twins?
-We see the Willys.
We made it.
-There it is.
Dang. Look at him, bro.
He's popping a wheelie.
-[alarm sounding]
-MICHELLE:
All right, let's do it.
This looks crazy.
[rapid honking]
-I don't know, dude.
-So overwhelming.
MICHELLE:
We walked into the Jeeps,
and it seemed like
an impossible task.
We doing the big
the big items first?
We have to load it up
just like the example,
which I'd assume is that one
right there.
So, we have
to load this Willy up
to look exactly
like that Willy over there.
And they got a lot going on.
It was an example of a truck,
and you could kind of look at it
to see how they did it,
which still didn't help.
We looked at it,
and it looked more difficult.
Ready? One, two, three.
That's how
we're going to load it.
-And then
-I'll do the outside stuff.
We know these go up here.
That's a start.
I don't even know
where to start.
-Let's go. Let's go.
-Dude, we should have cooked.
I know, right?
What do we get ourselves into?
DEREK:
And once they're done, I think
we start making these plates.
-Okay.
-Start making the plate
right now.
Okay, so I'm making the beans.
KISHORI:
It's getting hot.
It's slowly getting hotter.
-It needs to be faster.
-Can you can you just
Just for a second,
can you just trust me, please?
-Hey, Shane, these are ready.
-What's that?
-Well, some of them are.
-Okay, okay.
-You got room
for 'em over there?
-Yeah. Yeah, buddy.
You know, it's kind of like
meals at the firehouse.
-Yeah.
-You just
throw something together
and throw a dab of salt
on it and hope for the best.
We decided to go for it.
Best we can do
in these situations.
So I think
we just finna go for it.
The meat man says
that we're doing okay.
The chicharrons has
to be crispy.
The plantains are looking great.
-We're gonna be all right.
-SHELISA: How you guys doing
over there?
-We're cooking meat.
-I'm proud of myself.
-Oh!
Ooh, we're getting oil burns.
Which is good 'cause
it's starting to rain on us.
Rain. It's beautiful.
Let's go. Let's get it. We run
in the rain with the food.
-There you go. There you go.
-Let's go. Hey, ladies.
-Hola.
-[speaking Spanish]
-Do we get a plus? Down?
-No?
-ROD: Fix the presentation.
Back to our station.
-LETICIA: All the way back?
Look at our presentation.
We're ready to roll.
SHELISA:
Looks just like it.
Okay, that one looks good.
Heat 'em up. Here we go.
Oh, let's turn it on.
Oh, that's a great idea.
-Buenas días.
-Buenas días.
-Hola, abuelas.
-Hola.
It looks bien.
-Oh, yes!
-Yeah, yeah!
-Yes! Oh, yes! Oh, okay.
-Oh.
Uh I'm gonna go
with my gut on this one.
Trust it, baby, trust it.
-We hire a tuk-tuk here?
-There's a tuk-tuk here.
No. At the monument.
"Make your way to the monument
-and hire a tuk-tuk."
-Oh, see. You saw the tuk-tuks.
I think the rice
just sitting up too high,
and the eggs are not sitting up
on top of the presentation good.
Presentation matters a lot.
DEREK: We're good. We are good.
-Wow. We didn't make a mistake.
-DEREK: True.
C's get degrees.
You're trying to get an A.
-Get a C.
-[laughs]
-[siren wailing]
-[horn honking]
BAILEY: If you look
at everything at once,
it's just really overwhelming,
so I'm trying to just
piece together thing by thing.
I'm starting with these bags.
I saw there was two.
I'm not sure
how they were stacked.
It's a bad time to have
terrible attention to detail.
There was more strategy
to the Yipao challenge
than I think any challenge
we've done yet on the show.
And we did not have
the brain power for it.
-I'll tell you that.
-No, not today.
My brain's starting
to fizz out little bit.
I think we picked the wrong one.
Is it too late to change?
-You can change Detours, right?
-Yeah.
No, I think it goes,
like, here.
Yup, and this goes here, though.
We thought it was gonna be more,
like, brainless,
-just throw things onto a truck.
-But it's not.
This is, like,
really beyond us, and
maybe we should switch before
we get too deep into this.
-I think we're in
over our heads.
-Dude, I think so, too.
We might have to switch
to cooking. I don't know.
-You want to change to cooking?
-You want to change to cooking?
This is not our strong suit.
You think you're better
in the kitchen?
BAILEY:
We couldn't even figure out
what order
to stack everything in.
I don't know
if we were tired or what,
but our brains
were just spinning.
I'd be like, "Oh, wait."
I already forgot
what goes in between this piece
and this piece.
BAILEY:
Like, if we were Boy Scouts,
like, maybe, but,
like, not today.
[both laugh]
Dude, this is a hard decision.
'Cause I
Maybe if we get in the kitchen,
we can just whip it out
really quick.
-Yeah!
-This might be, like,
the worst decision ever.
The worst or best decision
we've ever made.
-Let's switch.
-We can't even think about it.
-Let's just do it.
-Let's just switch.
Yeah, dude.
This is hurting my head.
This might be
our famous last words,
-but we are switching Detours.
-Yeah.
-Yeah, we're gonna switch.
-Yeah, we're switching.
We were thinking
the same thing, 'cause
MICHELLE:
Me and the twins
-both looked at each other.
-Yeah, we were like
And they were like,
"We're going."
-I said, "We're going, too."
-We going, too.
-Cooking I can do.
-All right, let's go.
Let's go.
We're switching, guys.
YVONNE:
Am I good on this meat,
-I think?
-Yeah.
I think this meat's good.
KISHORI:
Sauce looks crispy.
For not cooking meat,
that's pretty damn good.
Oh. Hey, look.
There's some friends.
There's one open down here.
For fire safety purposes,
-I'm gonna turn this one off.
-[laughs]
It's funny 'cause the alarms
always go off
right at dinnertime,
and we're like,
"Oh, we got something going on
in someone's kitchen."
-We're back at it again.
-MICHELLE: Ah!
Got the dolphin.
-Dude.
-This almost seems worse
than the
Ugh! Dude,
what do you want to do?
-All right, let's cook.
Let's cook.
-Let's turn
Let's turn and burn, baby.
-Let's do what we do.
-All right.
-Careful.
-Careful.
Let's not mess it up.
ROD:
Ladies, I think that is better.
Hey! Who got
-Thank you so much.
Thank you so much.
-Muchas gracias.
Ah, let's go, baby.
Fantastic four. Let's get it.
Ugh! Dude, this is like
-This is kind of hell.
-This is this is
This is our downfall right here.
ROD:
Go, go. Right here,
right here, right here.
Y'all ready?
We out of here, baby. Let's go!
We rolling, baby.
And we in I think we might be
in second or third place.
But let's go, baby.
We are to the finish line.
I really think we can beat a
couple of these teams right now.
I don't want to know
where the other teams are.
I just have to keep focusing
on what we're doing
and not stress about, um,
where teams are right now.
-Hola.
-ABUELAS: Hola.
[Juan and Shane speak Spanish]
-Nervous.
-Nervous.
-Yes! Let's go!
-Muchas gracias.
-[speaking Spanish]
-All right, all right.
Damn! Ugh!
We're gonna go we're gonna go
load the vans, dude.
-Okay, we got to go fast now.
-Ugh! All right, let's run.
BAILEY: We were reading
ingredients that I didn't even
know what was what,
so we were like,
"Dude, let's not even waste
our time trying to figure out
what we're supposed
to be cooking to start."
-We suck. [laughing]
-[laughing]
This is my personal hell.
SEAN:
Ooh, that looks good.
-Lord have mercy,
that looks good.
-Yeah.
JUAN:
All right, get ready
for a Roadblock coming up.
SHANE:
Yeah.
-We are on their heels.
-Yeah.
JUAN:
Like, one wrong move
and they're toast.
Yeah, right.
Same for us, though.
ANTHONY:
Dude, we're so behind.
BAILEY:
This has been, like,
the hardest decision 'cause
we, like, immediately
went to cooking
and we're like, "No way."
And now we're back here.
-And I'm like
-We didn't do this on purpose.
-I know it looks painful, but
-This is, like
-This is, like, freaking me out.
-This-this is terrible.
-And then one up here, right?
-Yeah, three across.
When we were here first,
we thought
the cooking would be easier,
but we think
that power stacking this
might be easier instead.
[grunts]
Oh, yeah.
This looks better.
It does look better.
-We got it, bro.
-Let's do this! We're pumped!
-It's something about coffee.
-Coffee?
CESAR:
Yes. I've never seen
a coffee plant this close.
RICKY:
I've never seen
a coffee plant, either.
-CESAR: Oh, my God.
Just look at that.
-It's on the side.
-RICKY: Wow.
-Take it in. Take it in.
Okay, around. On this side.
-I see it right there.
-CESAR: Okay. Oh, yes.
Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes.
Here we go.
-Open it, open, open.
-RICKY: It's a Roadblock.
-"Who's feeling picky?"
-"Who's feeling picky?"
CESAR:
"Get ready for
an Expedia Experience!"
More than two million
Colombians make their living
producing coffee.
The climate is perfect
for growing the arabica bean,
making this country the
third-largest coffee producer
in the world.
To brew a cup of Joe
is a highly
labor-intensive process
that all starts
with arecolector--
what teams must become
to complete this Roadblock.
Each team member must collect
ripe cherries-- the red ones--
then process them
through this husking machine
that removes the skin.
Once they've processed
one kilogram of beans
for roasting, the scale will
tip, revealing their next clue.
-I'm feeling picky.
-You're feeling picky.
[rooster crowing]
RICKY:
More stairs in Colombia.
Come on, Ricky.
We have a chance for more first.
Come on, come on,
come on, come on.
I'm gonna get this one.
Ah!
Okay.
This is really slippery,
and I have to be
really careful
because I need a whole kilo,
which is 2.2 pounds,
but they have to be already
taken off the shell.
So that means that I need
maybe a kilo and a half,
maybe two kilos.
The coffee plants
are literally everywhere
on the side of a cliff,
essentially.
So being here first gives us
the opportunity to stay close.
He doesn't have to trail
all the way up to find shells.
So, like, the last team
that's gonna get here--
these all of these right here
are gonna be picked.
Like, the leaves are big,
and they don't let me see
all the beans.
-Order up!
-Do not drop it. Walk.
-Kishori, I was a server
back in the day.
-Please.
Karishma, if you drop that pan,
I'm gonna be so mad.
I'm gonna flip
I'm gonna flip her back.
Hey, that's pretty good for two
kids that don't cook together.
Muy delicioso.
We have some yummy food
for you!
Yum, yum, yum, yum!
-It looks so good!
-So good!
-No. No.
-No. [speaks Spanish]
Okay, come on.
I was laughing because
the meat was cooked perfectly.
-The meat was cooked good!
-Perfectly.
But our plantains needed
to be a little bit, I guess
-KARISHMA: A little
more crispier.
-crispy. I was like,
"How are we not cooking
the plantains right,
but cooking the meat right?"
It's okay. We can cook
cook 'em a little bit longer.
That's fine.
-Abuelas.
-Abuela.
Muy delicioso.
-Yay!
-Sí.Yeah, let's go.
[Bizzy whooping]
We're on a race.
We're racing. Race, race.
Let's go on a race
around the world!
[Melissa and Yvonne cheer]
-Muchas gracias.
-Muchas gracias.
[Melissa speaks Spanish]
This is fun.
I'm having a good time.
Yeah, this is much better
than building.
-[horns honking]
-[sirens blaring]
I don't want to mess this up.
Yeah, I don't want
to mess up Jesus, either.
[laughs]: Oh, man.
-But how are we gonna, like
-I don't know.
-My brain just can't comprehend
what I'm even looking at.
-I know.
I don't even know
how to tie a good knot.
Oh, my God.
Oh, man.
-Dude.
-Would we be, like,
the first team ever
to switch Detours,
like, four times?
Dude, no way.
-My brain is-is about to
erupt.
-Yeah. Yeah.
Ugh!
ANTHONY: I can't even think
right now. This might have been,
like, the worst decision
we've ever made.
I was looking how, like,
the plates
and all that stuff was hung off,
and I was like,
"I wouldn't even know how
to tie this or where to start.
Let's just not even bother."
It's go cook?
-Oh!
-Dude.
-Yes.
-I'm embarrassed
to show my face there again.
Well, we're both embarrassed,
so let's just go cook.
-All right. Let's just go cook.
-We're cooking.
We were pretty well aware
how-how far back we were.
BAILEY:
We genuinely felt the pressure.
I'm smiling through the pain.
Let's run.
Oh.
[singsongy]:
Guess who's back?
KISHORI:
Back again.♪
-Tell me
that doesn't look beautiful.
-It's beautiful.
-Yay!
-Yay!
-We love you.
-Muchas gracias.
RICKY:
Come on, Cesar!
So now he's going over
to the machines.
-RICKY: Let's go.
-Okay. Everything.
RICKY:
He's got to get it to the top.
He's got to hand-crank it.
CESAR:
Okay, now we're talking.
RICKY:
I'm very proud of him.
I'm so happy that
I get to do it with him.
Come on, now, faster.
CESAR: Ooh.
Okay.
-Still needing more. Yes.
-You need more? Okay.
-So I had
to husk all my coffee beans.
-Uh-huh.
That takes pretty much half
of the weight,
so, I pretty much needed
to double up on what I'm doing.
Ooh, this is hard.

As fast as you can. Yeah!
-Yeah!
-Yeah!
We want to win.
-What are we doing?
-We need to push?
VINNY: We got to push?
Push, push.
-[panting]
-Good? We good?
-DRIVER: Get in.
-Okay.
-Come on, babe.
-Gracias.
AMBER:
Let's go! [whoops]
DANNY:
This is it.
[cheering]
-Gracias.
-Ah. Thank you.
-All right, dude.
-This is depressing.
-Hello, guys.
-The plantains-- Hi.
I was like, "Oh, my God.
We are last."
It was us
and the twins together.
SEAN: I don't care if we're
in the back of the pack.
You just have
to push through it.
You got to have faith.
We're gonna say a prayer
that we get approved
the first time, okay?
BAILEY:
All right, we're still in it.
We knew that
we weren't dead last,
so it gave us a little hope
and drive to keep pushing.
It's not over till Phil sings.
RICKY:
Turning.
Churning. Turning. Churning.
Guess it's not butter, huh?
[chuckles]
Come on, come on, come on.
Okay.
Sí.
"Find Phil, here
on the Casa Loma Coffee farm."
This grassy overlook
is the Pit Stop
for this leg of the race.
The last team to check in here
will be eliminated.
Where do you think he is?
CESAR: I don't know.
DEREK:
Right here.
-All right, baby.
-SHELISA: I see it.
Over there.
Gracias, Señor.
-ROD: Hey, y'all.
-DEREK: Come on, y'all.
SHELISA:
Oh, y'all here! Come on.
-All right, let's go.
-Let's go, baby.
You want me to do it
or do you want to do it?
No, I'll do it.
-Think I should do it?
-Yes.
LETICIA:
I don't have
any harvest experience,
but my grandmother
has a green thumb.
Hopefully I learned
something from her.
I need two pounds, and so
I'm gonna go to the next level.
[grunts]
LETICIA:
I've never heard
of a coffee cherry,
but they're not too hard to pull
and they don't hurt,
so that's good.
BAILEY:
This is looking like
it's almost done.
I'm gonna put it on a simmer.
This is way less stressful
than stacking those Willys.
They're getting there.
All right,
we still got a chance. Let's go.
-Michelle, why you keep
saying that?
-[sighs]
-Stop, stop.
Please stop saying that. Please.
-All right, stop. I am.
I-I apologize, baby.
-[driver speaks Spanish]
-SHANE: Muchas gracias.
Come on, Juan.
-JUAN: Oh, I think I see clues.
-Okay, good.
-I'll do it. I'll do it.
-All right, Shane, y-you're up.
LETICIA:
I'm moving swiftly,
but I will say
my back is on fire,
picking all of these,
bent over in these bushes.
SHELISA:
Whoa.
This is not easy.
JUAN:
Let's go, Shane. That coffee's
gonna taste good, baby.
Shane, you know you don't pull
coffee beans and cherry beans.
-[laughter]
-You know you don't do this.
It's for the ladies. [laughs]
The other team's heckling me.
You know what?
I just tune 'em out.
I just tune 'em out.
I don't listen to 'em.
You know what I mean?
I just tune it out. [laughs]
-Let your haters
be your motivators.
-[laughs]
Shane, you cannot stay in the
same bush the whole time, Shane.
[laughs]
CESAR:
Phil.
RICKY:
Phil!
[exhales]
-Welcome to Colombia.
-RICKY: Thank you.
KEOGHAN:
It is breathtaking, huh?
And I'm really hoping
you're gonna say we're first.
You are team number one.
Yes!
KEOGHAN:
And I have some great news.
You've won Expedia OneKeyCash
that you can use
for a five-night trip for two
to Cape Town, South Africa.
Oh!
KEOGHAN:
Expedia experts will design
a unique local experience,
including
a Cape of Good Hope tour,
Boulder Beach penguin encounter,
a guided hike of Table Mountain,
and a Gansbaai
great white shark cage dive.
[laughing]
I'm so happy
to be here with you.
Today was just magical.
We got time to enjoy ourselves,
which is why
we came into the race.
-So today was our perfect date.
-Perfect date.
SUNNY:
Beautiful.
-BIZZY: Gracias.
-Here we go.
-Here we go. Here we go.
-Got it, got it, got it.
It's picking coffee beans.
This is all coffee beans.
-BIZZY: Okay.
-That's what
coffee beans look like.
-Why don't you go for it?
-Okay.
BIZZY:
Good luck, babe.
SUNNY:
You know what?
This wasn't meant to be me.
This is my grandma.
My grandma
just passed away yesterday,
and there's so many signs.
I'm like, "Grandma's
right here with me."
-Theabuelas cooking.
-[cheering]
And then we got here,
and I start picking the beans,
-and I'm like
-Aw.
It was just, it was just
Like, everything
was just falling into place.
You got this, Sunny.
I really feel like this wasn't
initially my challenge,
but my grandma's
coming out in this
because she was raised
on a farm and grew up picking.
And she taught me all that
she knows, picking apples.
I mean, I just can't be
more thankful right now,
than to be able to do this
and think about Grandma.
Just insane that this happened.
VINNY:
"Get ready for
an Expedia experience!"
-He is.
-I'm feeling picky. Come on.
ROD:
Let's go, babe.
Oh. Get all of the beans.
Geez! Okay.
LETICIA: Go get more?
Rather do this once
on the side of the hill
than to have to come back up.
SUNNY:
I think there's
about four teams below me.
I knew that people
were just gonna pick it
as close as they could,
so I went straight up the hill.
I know this is untouched plants.
VINNY:
I don't understand
why everybody's
running up these hills,
because there's
coffee beans everywhere.
Gracias.
-YVONNE: It's gotta be up there.
-Let's go, let's go, let's go.
Gracias. Gracias.
Let's go, let's go, let's go.
Okay, I'm gonna do it.
I feel like you have to pick
from trees or something.
-Hold this.
-And I'm, like, four, 11.
I was so scared
that you're gonna have
to climb a tree
and reach for stuff.
I'm like, "I'm the height
of Danny DeVito."
-[laughs]
-"This isn't gonna work.
Kishori needs to do this."
I'm gonna do the Roadblock.
LETICIA:
We have to get
so many of these things.
I'm slipping everywhere.
Aah!
Be careful, boo.
Oh! Damn it.
My whole basket of berries
just fell.
Come on.
Hopefully, uh, hurry up,
smoke through this,
and then make up
a little bit of ground.
Ow. I got ants!
They're biting me in my butt,
and my legs and my feet.
I got my hands all bit up.
There are ants everywhere.
VINNY:
I actually really
enjoy being amongst plants,
and so this is really tranquil.
MELISSA:
The irony is I don't
even drink coffee.
[laughs]
So I hope somebody
gets to enjoy this.
Come on, Kishori!
This is a hard job.
I have so much respect
for people that do this,
'cause it's tiring.
When we eat food,
we just see it on our plate,
but we don't actually appreciate
where it comes from, sometimes.
So this kind of puts things
into perspective,
like how much food,
how much time and effort
goes into actually
putting it on your plate.
All right, it's go time.
It's time to plate this bad boy.
All right. Beautiful.
ANTHONY:
It's a little easier
than I thought it'd be.
BAILEY:
We're on
the home stretch of this,
so I think there still might
be some time we can make up.
All right.
-Yes!
-All right, let's go. Oh, Jesus.
There's still
another team there.
They just finished
and got their clue,
so we just have
to pick up the slack here.
Oh, yeah, they're picking
things from a tree.
You love picking things
from trees.
Okay, I love picking things
from trees.
-Mom's gonna do it.
-I'm feeling picky.
This is my first Roadblock.
Feeling good,
but I'm also feeling
like I got to get it right
the first time.
Okay. There's a ton
right here. Yes.
My strategy was to stay low,
jam myself up into the tree
and put the basket
right between my legs.
And I was using two hands,
while other people
were sitting by,
just picking one at a time.
And I was like, "No, we're
going all hands on deck here."
Growing up, I used to do
cherry picking, apple picking,
so I know what
two pounds feels like.
So I would pick it up
and be like,
"Okay, I need a little bit more.
I need a little bit more."
And I knew I did it fast.
And I knew
I had the right amount.
And so I really wanted to have
the other racers
feel our presence.
AMBER:
Go, babe! You got it!
[whoops]
VINNY: Heck yeah.
I think a lot of people
counted us out,
especially in that first leg,
where we
performed pretty poorly.
Come on, baby. Yes.
But we woke up this morning,
and we said, "Not today."
-AMBER: Yes.
-Gracias.
-Let's go, Amber.
-Wow. Good job.
JUAN: Come on, Shane.
See you, guys. Good luck.
BIZZY:
Pick those coffee beans, Sunny!
[howls]
KARISHMA:
Let's pick those cherries♪
Let's go, Kishori.♪
ANGIE:
More. Yes, yes, yes. I know.
We got here behind everybody.
Two teams haven't been here.
I'm in a little bit more
survival mode.
I'm gonna go with about a
quarter of a bucket every time
and just kind of work
slow and steady that way.
ROD:
Sweetie, you got this.
Push.
LETICIA:
Let's see if it's enough.
That coffee looks pretty heavy.
ROD: Oh, yeah! Let's go.
Good job. Let's go.
Grab my bag.
Amber and Vinny,
you are team number two.
Oh, yes. Let's do it.
You get to leave
in the first group,
-so congratulations.
-Yes.
Come on, Shelisa.
Lord, please let this be enough.
DEREK: Come on, girl.
[whoops]
-"Find Phil, here"
-Let's go.
[snoring]
BAILEY:
We just know
we're a little behind,
and we're trying
to not let it get to us.
Hi.
There's still hope
that the Roadblock's,
like, something we're
crazy good at and can just
teleport through.
-Yeah!
-[laughter]
-Thank you.
-[whoops]
SHANE:
Okay, come on. Come on, baby.
Come on, baby.
I got it. All right.
-"Find Phil." Casa Loma.
-I think it's this way, dude.
I've always wanted to do this.
This is so cool.
This is it, baby.
SUNNY: Okay
[cheering]
-Let's go!
-Let's go, babe.
YVONNE: You got this!
-Yes. [whoops]
-YVONNE: Go, go, go!
MELISSA: Yvonne, let's go.
-[whoops]
-Good luck, guys.
What's taking so long?
I'm working really fast,
I have faith in myself,
and I'm almost done.
KARISHMA:
Pick those berries, Kishori!
Your butt looks great from here!
KISHORI:
Oh, my God.
Okay. I think
that should be enough.
Can't keep, um, getting upset
that this is taking time
and that my basket
hardly looks full.
I just have to keep picking.
I wish she would go up
the mountain a little bit more,
but I'm proud of her,
whatever she decides to do.
She is killing it
and I'm really proud of her.
KARISHMA:
Come on, Kishori!
I believe in you! I love you!
You got it. You got it.
Oh, I don't want to spill it.
That would be a waste.
Oh, my God. That's good, right?
-That looks good?
-Yes.
-"Find Phil." On foot.
-We go up from here. Let's go.
I know we can
catch the other teams.
DANNY:
All right, Mom. You got this.
Eight teams
have already come and left.
ANGIE:
Babe, I'm gonna ask you
to stop telling me
how many teams there are, okay?
-DANNY: Okay, sounds good.
-Thanks.
DANNY:
Trying to be helpful, Mom.
Nope. That's not helpful.
That's just pressure.
DANNY:
It was hard
sitting at that challenge
and watching other teams leave.
Like, that is hard.
There is nothing
I can say or do.
I just have to trust, like,
Mom is doing the best that she
possibly can be doing right now.
ANGIE:
It's gonna be a while.
-DANNY: That's okay.
-Take a nap.
Out of here.
DANNY:
Mom, I'm so proud of you.
ANGIE:
Thank you, buddy. I hear you.
You're doing really good.
-It's just gonna be
little bits at a time.
-Hey. Yeah, that's okay.
Just think, be smart.
You got this, Mom.
ANGIE:
Little bits at a time.
-SHELISA: You see Phil?
-No.
Where are we trying
to find Phil? Phil?
Do we go up there?
-Yeah, let's go up.
-Where could he be?
Where is he? Where's Phil?
BIZZY:
Oh! Barbed wire. Not that way.
-You okay?
-Yep.
-Yvo, come on.
-I don't think it's this way.
Phil!
Where you at, baby?
We looking for you.
Come here, Lisa.
What are you doing?
-You're wasting time.
-Okay.
-KISHORI: Do you see Phil?
-I don't know, but let's work.
Oh, wow. Pretty dizzy.
You see him in there?
This is where we work, Kishori.
This is what we trained for.
This is where we work.
This is where we do everything.
Come on. Let's work. Let's work.
-I hear them
'cause I'm up here.
-Let's work.
Everything you got, Kishori.
Everything!
DEREK:
Come here, Lisa. Come here.
-SHELISA: Phil?
-Come here.
-Come on, baby.
-Ooh!
Derek and Shelisa,
I am pleased to tell you
you are team number three!
-All right! Good job!
-Yes. Yes.
-Yes.
-[gasps]
Juan, think
they went that way, yeah?
Maybe let's scope it out,
see what we see.
ROD:
Come on, baby. Phil?
Shane, I see him. Go around
the other way. Go around
ROD:
Baby, come here. Go.
SHANE:
Hey, grab that.
JUAN:
I got it, I got it.
Go up, go up, go up.
ROD:
Hold on, Phil. Come here, baby.
SHANE:
I love you, Rod. I'm sorry.
I'm sorry, Rod. We're sorry.
[excited chatter]
-Good job.
-Wow. That was
I mean, you guys came in here
like swarming bees,
rushing right in here.
The competition is tight.
Derek and Shelisa--
they finished top three today.
-Oh, my God, man!
-Yeah!
-Again.
-KEOGHAN: So, Juan and Shane,
-that would make you team four.
-Geez.
-Man, we did not
-KEOGHAN: And, Rod and Leticia,
that would
make you team number five.
-It's still a good spot.
-Yes, it is.
-That's a great spot.
-It seems to be very
competitive at the top.
-Yeah.
-I see backpacks.
-[mutters]
YVONNE:
Let's go! Let's go!
-We're here.
-[whoops]
-[cheering]
-KEOGHAN: Come back in.
-MAN: Colombia.
-KEOGHAN: We got another one.
-Colombia.
-YVONNE: Colombia.
First of all, let me just say,
super proud of all of you.
You've done a fantastic job.
-Thanks, Phil.
-Three legs of the race.
-You're kicking ass.
-[whooping, cheering]
-That would make you
team number six.
-[whoops] Team number six.
-There you go.
-[whoops]
And you, Sunny and Bizzy,
that would make you
-team number seven.
-[whoops]
-Seven from heaven, baby.
-Yes.
-It's right there. Come on.
-Can't climb that.
We're climbing it.
Come on, Kishori!
-Good job.
-Yeah. Good job. You did it!
-How is it today, cousins?
-KARISHMA: So good.
-I'm really proud of us.
-This was a really good day.
We worked
as a really good team today.
Well, I am pleased to tell you
that you are team number eight.
Yes! Oh, God. Oh.
'Cause you know it gets wild.
Gets super competitive
near the back,
but anyways,
you should be really proud.
This is some of the tightest
competition that we have
ever had on the race.
-[whooping]
-It's awesome. So awesome.
Mom, you got this.
I'm just chilling here solo,
but
Don't tell me that.
-Thank you.
-I'm a little nervous.
If the guys just come in and
pick as many berries
and run up the mountain
But slow and steady
wins the race.
Yikes.
BAILEY:
Feeling better, bro.
I mean, anything could happen,
even though we're in dead last.
BAILEY: Me too.
-Try and make our best.
-Yup.
Do as good as we can from here.
SEAN:
Thank you.
MICHELLE:
So we got to look
for our next clue.
There's the clues right there.
I see it.
Okay. Ooh, there's the clues.
Let's move.
-You want me to get it?
-You got it.
-MICHELLE: Yeah,
I could do that. All right.
-Yeah, that's easy.
"Follow the marked path."
We got this, babe.
SEAN:
This looks like [chuckles]
MICHELLE:
Look how scary this is.
Oh, God, I need help. [sighs]
-You're good, babe.
-This-this looks so slippery.
Aah! [gasps]
No, no, no, I can't slip.
Don't let me die, y'all.
SEAN:
This is crazy.
Oh, yeah.
Feel like I could slip.
Oh! I did slip.
SEAN:
Oh, no.
Oh, hell no.
I don't-I don't know about this.
This is crazy.
MICHELLE:
All right, step by step.
SEAN:
I don't know
if I can do this.
-MICHELLE: Sean.
-Nah.
-Sean, go backwards
on your hands.
-No.
Babe, look at me.
Go backwards on your hands.
-Nah. Nah.
-MICHELLE: Sean!
MICHELLE:
Babe, please don't quit.
SEAN:
I can't. I can't. It's too high.
MICHELLE:
Babe, please don't quit.
-I'm not doing that.
-MICHELLE: Babe.
SEAN:
I'm not doing that.
Aw, hell no.
-MICHELLE: Babe.
-N-No.
-MICHELLE: Sean, listen to me.
-Nah, I ain't doing that.
-Babe, please don't do that.
-It's too high.
-[groans]
-Babe.
-No!
-No.
-No. I'll take your book bag.
-SEAN: No.
No. Nah, it's too high.
MICHELLE:
Babe, come on.
If you think
you have what it takes
to win The Amazing Race,
go to cbs.com/casting
and apply now.
SEAN:
I'm not doing that.
-It's too high, babe.
-MICHELLE: Listen,
I want you to try.
SEAN:
No, I could
You could slip right off.
Hell no.
You're not gonna slip on steps.
SEAN:
I have nothing to hold on to.
Nah.
-No.
-We got to hurry up.
Nah.
MICHELLE:
Sean, it's right there.
Look at it.
It's right there.
-I can't.
-You're not gonna slip
-on steps.
-I have nothing to grab on to.
Yes. This, babe. This. Look.
And it's steps. Literally.
One step at a time.
Just don't look to your left.
SEAN:
Oh, my goodness.
I'm really scared of heights.
At the edge,
it's like there's nothing there.
-MICHELLE: Nothing.
-SEAN: Like, you could
It felt like you could just
slide right off.
There was nothing to stop you
from tipping all the way down.
Michelle is like, "Come on,
Sean." I was like, "No."
No, usually when I say "no,"
that's a hard "no."
-This is not this is not
-And that means,
"Michelle, shut up, be quiet."
Look, I was like, "We're gonna
end this right here.
-I had a great time."
-It's been great.
"But it's not happening."
One step at a time.
You got it, Sean.
Sean, you have it.
I promise you.
When you get right here,
it's regular steps.
SEAN: You know, Michelle's like,
"Come on, come on, come on."
-MICHELLE: Yes.
-SEAN: And I was like,
"All right, let me just try."
One step at a time.
You got it, babe.
I'm so proud of you.
You know you could do this.
That's the hard part,
right there. One step at a time.
We face our fears.
The kids are watching.
Oh!
Oh.
-We ain't even at the cherries.
-[laughs]
I'm proud of you, babe.
It wasn't pretty, but at
least we're making progress.
At least we're
going somewhere, right?
-This the waiting area?
-Dude. Hey.
-Thank you, man.
-We're hanging in there.
[Sean laughs]
-Everybody's gone?
-Yeah.
-Okay, well, you know.
-So, but
there's a team behind you.
-SEAN: Yeah.
-DANNY: Yup.
So for now, right?
-Yeah, one team. Yup.
-[laughs]
MICHELLE:
I'm gonna tell my kids, "Don't
you ever in your life give up."
If you want something,
you go for it.
And always run your race.
So sometime when it looks like
the chips are down, who cares?
You keep going.
DANNY:
All right, Mom, you got this.
Ah!
-Good job.
-So proud of you. Hi.
-"Find Phil, here
-at the Casa Loma"
-Can I give you a hug first?
-Okay, no, yeah, but we
-Then we gotta go to a Pit Stop.
"Casa Loma Coffee Farm."
Here we go.
Uh, all right,
I'm feeling picky.
Y'all are still in it.
There's still a team down there.
-Really? Hey.
-Hey.
-All the way. First. Don't
-Nice to see you all again.
-Much love.
-Thanks.
-All right.
ANTHONY:
Hey, you guys are awesome.
MICHELLE:
I tell you,
I thought I worked out,
and now
I need to work out harder.
That's what this race taught me.
So the last team that was
behind us just showed up.
This feels like when
she was having our kids,
going through labor--
how helpless I felt.
Like, I want to help,
but I can't do anything.
MICHELLE:
Lord Jesus.
You look good in yellow.
ANTHONY:
Thanks, bro.
I assume I have
to work my way up.
Showing up and seeing
Michelle and Sean there--
you kind of get this second
wind that you have a chance.
Some big ones up in here.
KEOGHAN:
You got your mum
doing the Roadblock?
DANNY:
I know. She killed it.
ANGIE:
I picked a few cherry coffees.
Angie and Danny, you are
team number nine to the mat.
-Hey. All right.
-Hey. Thank you, Phil.
Come on, boo-boo.
I'm here with you. Let's go.
MICHELLE:
I don't want to have to go back.
I'm so scared
to have to go back.
At the same time,
I don't want to go
so overboard that I let
somebody else pass me.
[whispering]:
Oh, dude, look at that bird.
That's absolutely beautiful.
I've never seen a bird
like that.
I wonder if they see
coffee beans all day.
Just fly miles.
BAILEY:
Hey, bro, you got
a little mud on you.
ANTHONY:
Yeah, right?
Yeah, this rain's definitely not
helping with the slope,
but it's kind of refreshing,
so I'm not complaining.
How you doing, Michelle?
I'm coming!
[grunts]
I'm gonna grab enough
to make sure
I don't have to come back
up here again. [laughs]
[grunts]
Not too far off, though.
Don't make me
pick again, please!
Got to get every bit.
It all matters.
Oh, my goodness.
Sean, let's go.
-Come on.
-Oh!
Let me face our fate. [laughs]
Oh. That was fun.
Let's go find Phil.
Let's do it.
-[laughs]
-All right.
-Come on, babe.
-I can't.
-[panting]
-Yes, you can. Breathe.
-Come on. Oh.
-One, two.
-Oh, babe.
-Three.
-Is he up here?
-Yeah.
-Okay.
-Yeah, he's up.
-I can't do it. One.
-SEAN: Come on.
Michelle, let's go.
Go, go, go, go!
-Let's go.
-Oh.
-Where's Phil?
-Aah!
SEAN:
Phil?!
SEAN:
There he is.
Come on, babe.
-I'm coming.
-Come on.
I'm coming.
Hey, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa.
[Michelle shrieking]
Hey. Ah.
Michelle and Sean,
you are team number ten!
-Yay!
-[Michelle shrieks]
The good news is that you are
in the next leg of the race.
-We're here.
-Yes.
-But it does mean
that you will be leaving last.
So it means that you've got
some catching up to do.
No problem. I'm proud of us.
I mean, I know
I know we're-we're tenth,
but there were-there were,
like, a lot of breakthroughs.
-[Michelle groans]
-Anyway, congratulations,
you guys.
-What's up, Phil?
-Hey.
Guys, you must have known
it was all on the line just now.
There's no fast way
to pick those beans,
especially
with these slopes, so
Yeah. Anthony and Bailey,
I am really sorry to say
that you are the last team
to arrive, and unfortunately,
you are eliminated
from the race.
-We're sorry to see you go.
-You know, this is not,
obviously, the place
we wanted to end on.
But life's all about adventures
and new people you meet
-and having a blast.
-You know, I think
what's really cool
is just to watch the connection
that you guys have.
It's something really unique,
isn't it?
Yeah, something a lot of
people don't understand, but
And doing something like this
really just brings it out,
and we really get to enjoy that
time with each other.
We got so much one-on-one time
that we just don't
get it anymore.
I don't think it's something
we'll probably ever get again.
It's pretty cool that we just
even got the chance to be here,
and we're happy
that we got to do it.
Dude, this is pretty chill.

The Amazing Race

-KEOGHAN: Teams take flight
over Medellín.
This is so cool!
I'm on top of the world, baby!
KEOGHAN:
Sunny and Bizzy get stumped
The earth I find, then I think.
-No.
-No.
The earth I find makes us think.
No.
God, why is that not it?
Damn it.
KEOGHAN:
Michelle stumbles
I don't know where it starts.
Stay focused.
Stay calm.
I'm trying.
