Previously on

..on the most amazing country on earth.
Stowaways MJ and Chelsea
- Oh, go, go!
- Ooh!
..proved they're here to win.
Game's not over until the final siren.
You are first team to check in.
Come on!
They handed Dwes and
Katherine the Salvage
and the Super Sikhs
You guys are such a big threat,
we're giving you the Sabotage.
This could be what sends us home.
Tonight
- Heading to Alice Springs.
- Whoo.
..the race arrives in the Red Centre.
- We've never been!
- Never been.
My dad's gonna be so proud of us.
While our first class
winners enjoy a day off
Ah, cheers.
..the others do it tough
Ooh.
Oh, poopie.
..pushing one team
I can't do this!
..to breaking point.
- Oh, my God.
- Keep breathing, baby, alright?
And after the ride of a lifetime
Best experience on the race so far.
- What the hell is going on?
- That's a tree.
..teams come crashing back to earth.
Whoa!
Our teams are waking up in Darwin
and it's from here they'll
be starting the next leg
of The Amazing Race Australia.
"Fly to the heart of
Australia's Red Centre."
"Alice Springs".
"Then make your way to the
Alice Springs Library bus stop."
Let's go.
- We're heading to Alice Springs!
- Whoo!
Welcome to Alice Springs -
the heart of the
country, the Red Centre.
Our nine remaining
teams are leaving Darwin
to come here to tackle the ninth
leg of The Amazing Race Australia.
And please
..bring some fly spray.
Alright, to Darwin Airport.
We're super excited
to see the Red Centre.
We've never been.
We've never been before.
Never been before.
We're actually hoping
to pick up our first first.
- Yeah.
- Do you want our first first?
I want our first first and
I want it in Alice Springs.
- We can do it, baby.
- We can do it.
Ah!
- How are ya?
- Good, thank you.
We started this leg in second
place, which is awesome,
being right at the top.
We've caught up to
Chris and Aleisha just now.
Yeah.
Our goal from now
was to come first again.
This is the fastest way to the airport?
- Mm-hm.
- Thank you so much.
Ashleigh and Amanda are the people
we keep looking over our shoulders for.
They just keep popping up
so I think they're probably
the biggest threats.
There's a taxi there. Taxi there.
Darwin Airport.
- Hi.
- Can you take us to Darwin Airport?
We're going to Alice
Springs, heart of Australia.
That's so cool.
- Let's go.
- Thank you. Ooh.
- Oh.
- . Come on, babe.
Take your bag off.
Alice Springs. I'm actually so excited.
We came fourth last leg
and because MJ and Chelsea
have the First Class Pass,
we're now coming third already,
so, well done. We've earned a place.
Feeling good.
MJ and Chelsea won the last leg
and handed the Salvage
to our Kimberley cousins.
And the Super Sikhs
We're giving you the Sabotage.
Now these two teams
will discover their fate.
"Salvage team, you will have
a personal driver upon arrival.
Yes!
Our salvage was our own driver.
In Alice Springs, it's definitely
gonna give us a real leg-up.
Sabotage - "While in Alice Springs,
"you must each carry a large
kangaroo with you at all times."
Easy. Sick. Let's go.
How are we possibly gonna
carry a kangaroo at all times?
I think it will be a stuffed kangaroo.
It's going to be sweaty.
It's gonna be sweaty,
it's gonna be annoying.
Aleisha, come on.
OK, let's go. Let's go.
Go!
All the teams
are flying 1,300 kilometres
deep into the Australian
outback, to Alice Springs.
They must then race to the sign-up board
which will determine the order
of departure at dawn tomorrow.
Let's go. Let's go. Let's go.
And it's first in, best dressed.
And we're going to the library.
Fast taxis.
Fastest way to the library, please.
Thank you.
Is that our car?! Whoa!
Oh, my God.
- Welcome, guys.
- Thank you.
- I'm your driver, Colin.
- Nice to meet you, Colin.
Let's go racing.
We were so grateful that they
actually gave us the Salvage.
We can relax, we don't
have to worry about driving,
looking at maps.
We'll definitely make up
for some lost time.
Let's go. Let's go. Let's go.
We got to the
airport and the first thing we see
are two large kangaroos
sitting there saying, 'Sabotage'.
We're gonna have to take
these little babies everywhere.
How 'bout I name mine 'Sabo'
and you name yours 'Tage'.
Tage.
- Yeah, let's do that.
- Cool? So Sabo and Tage.
We need to carry around our new
fluffy friends everywhere we go.
Which meant that we could only
use one hand for every challenge
and every activity.
Nice and soft.
Alice Springs!
Please let this be our day
that we get a first place.
We know the girls
are a little bit behind us.
So it might be a foot race
to whatever's coming up.
So it's a bus stop we're going to.
We get to the bus stop
at the Alice Springs Library.
Library.
And then Ashleigh and Amanda
pulled up - at the same time as us!
How do they even do it again?!
Gee, they were fast.
Right. Go, go, go, go.
Do you see anything, baby?
Is this the bus stop here?
We were searching around.
There was a little bit of a foot
race to find the sign-up board.
Do you think the bus stop's
across the road there?
There's a lady there.
Let's go.
- Aleisha, across the road.
- Go, baby.
- Where are we going?
- I dunno.
Oh, here.
Good job, baby! Good job, baby.
- Come on, girls.
- Oh, come on.
I definitely grabbed the pen before you.
Chris and I got to the board
at exactly the same time
and I grabbed the pen first and
he snatched it out of my hand.
I got to the board first.
They've pushed in front of
us a couple of times before
and we thought we're not
gonna let that happen again.
Yeah.
So we depart at 4:00.
Did she grab the pen before you then?
It's all the same time.
- Don't worry about it.
- Yeah.
We can beat them
in a foot race off a bus.
Yeah.
You have your little
victory, we'll beat you later.
I hope they're not angry at us
now but I think they hold grudges,
- so they're probably angry.
- Oh.
They'll be getting a U-turn.
Number three.
Ah, damn.
Being last on the board
isn't usually where we are.
Usually, we write our name on the top.
Being at the bottom, there
was only one way - up for us.
All we knew we had to do was climb.
The teams must return to
the bus stop before sunrise at 4am
where their next clue will be waiting.
4am!
Right. Let's go.
- Do you wanna get some food?
- Yeah, actually.
Do you wanna find some vegan food?
Sounds lovely.
It's a new day and a new challenge
and the teams are raring to go.
The first stop is yesterday's
sign-up board for their next clue.
A clue!
Alice Springs, what have you got for us?
Road Block.
A Road Block is a challenge that only
one team member must complete,
based on a cryptic clue.
"Who's the biggest gasbag?"
Oh, it's you.
Now, we all know our
teams love to gasbag.
Well, this next challenge
will be right up their alley.
Our teams will be going
up, up and away, sky-high.
The majestic scenery
around Alice Springs
makes it a top location
for hot-air ballooning.
The aim of the game is to grab
coloured bombs from the basket
and drop them on three targets
on the desert below.
The first team to successfully hit
the targets
will move to the next challenge.
The second team will go next
and so on and so on.
"Who's the biggest gasbag?"
It's a hot-air balloon. It's
a hot-air balloon! It has to be.
Are you feeling
confident doing this one?
- I'll do it.
- Let's have a look.
"Gas up and hit the skies." Yep.
Yes! yes! Yes!
It's so important to me
that I'm going on a hot-air balloon
because my dad's a
hot-air balloon pilot.
And I've grown up around
hot-air balloons my entire life.
So I'm so excited to do a challenge
that's close to my heart
and that I'm really
comfortable with as well.
"Gas up and hit the skis."
Oh, no.
- Skis?
- Skies?
Oh, sorry.
That sounds like something you can do.
Yeah. It does but
Sounds like a height thing.
Is it a hot-air balloon?
'Cause I'm scared of heights.
I just don't wanna fall off.
- You'll be safe.
- You sure?
- Yeah, yeah.
- OK.
Oh, my gosh,
how cute are these buses?!
We get on the bus and the first
four groups are in one group
and the last four groups are in another.
So we're with Holly and Dolor,
Chris and Aleisha,
and Skye and Jake.
In our one, there was
Jackson and I, Dwes and Katherine.
- Anurag and Jas.
- And Jordan and Violeta.
So we were taking off
before the other teams.
Got a quease in my stomach
a little bit.
OK.
- Whoo!
- We're off the ground, people.
Hooray!
Hooray
Oh, my gosh, this is amazing!
The other team, they've
started, going up really good.
We kind of knew that we were
falling behind a fair bit.
So exciting.
The colours were just stunning.
It was just absolutely beautiful.
This is absolutely spectacular.
We're 3,000 feet up in the air.
- Very high.
- No seatbelts.
- No seatbelts.
- Windows are open.
No parachutes. Nothing.
Hot-air ballooning over the Red Centre
was honestly the best experience
I think on the race so far.
Everyone was doing great,
happy to be there.
I was the most scared out of anybody.
I was really hoping to get the bags out
so I can start hitting those targets
and really get a good lead
and a good start to the day.
I don't think you'll miss them.
I felt pressure,
taking on this Road Block.
Jordan is the king of Road Blocks
and I didn't want to let him down.
Moving pretty quick.
Are we gonna be moving this quick
over the targets
- 'cause this could be hard.
- Yeah, it's windy.
I was starting to get worried that
we were going to be going too fast
and we were going to miss the targets.
It's really windy. Our hot-air
balloons are moving too fast.
What the hell?
The wind was causing the hot-air
balloons to move up in the air.
It threw everything off course.
- We're gonna land.
- We're gonna land?
We'll talk to you
when we're on the ground.
There was a lot of confusion.
What the hell is going on?
We're not at any altitude.
- Oh, tree.
- We hit a tree.
- We've gotta land.
- We're gonna land?
Hey! That was awesome!
That was crazy, man.
We had a layover landing,
which means
that when you land,
the basket tips over.
It's actually a super common part
of hot-air ballooning
and I think it makes it
actually so much more fun.
That was nice! I liked that.
That would suck,
to fold that up.
They higher they are,
the harder they fall.
And, well, well, well,
haven't they fallen.
Both balloons have been
dramatically blown off course.
So, suddenly, the rules have changed -
we now have a forced Intersection.
An Intersection is where
teams must work together
to complete a challenge.
In this Intersection,
our top four teams will be pitted
against the bottom four
in a race to pack
their giant balloons away.
Each balloon weights 400 kilos
and has a surface measurement
of 350,000 cubic feet.
The faster each group packs,
the quicker they get their next clue.
We're gonna have a competition
to see who can pack up the balloon
the fastest.
- Oh!
- Let's go!
Guys, we have to win!
I've grown up with hot-air balloons,
so we knew that we could
lead this team to victory.
We're so gonna win!
The challenge is for you guys
to pack the balloon up,
for me to give you your next clue.
Will you tell us how?
- Oh!
- Alright, we can do this.
We knew how hard it was going to be,
and we actually were worried on
how long this challenge would take.
They've got Violeta - her dad does this.
- Go!
- Yeah. Let's do it.
- Go!
- Lift.
Yes. Just like that.
- Keep pushing that air down.
- Keep pushing it in.
Wait, we we're
doing different things.
Guys, what are they doing?
Oh, they're just folding.
They're folding, not rolling.
Try and pick up at the same time
as the person you're next to.
Violeta put on her
bossy boots, which was excellent,
because the team needed it,
'cause they had no idea what to do.
And Violeta knows exactly what to do.
Take the time to push the air.
- Take the time.
- Yeah, make sure you take your time.
She explained to everybody
that the process is to push
all the air out of the balloon.
Keep going. Keep getting that air.
Rolling it. Rolling it.
Keep going there.
I just laid my big self
down on top of it
and got all that air out.
I thought, "Well"
- He was having a field day down there.
- Having a field day.
I was just rolling around
like I do on Saturday night.
Keep going.
Just keep pushing.
Good job, guys. Keep going.
Oh, my God. I'm so tired.
Do you reckon, just fold it like this?
I think we've gotta sort of try
and tightly roll it.
OK, guys. Uh, nah, nah.
Stop there. Stop there.
- Oh.
- Not rolling?
Nuh.
If it's not roll, it might be fold.
Nah. Still stop.
- Stop?
- OK.
Apparently, we can't roll it OR fold it.
- Where is it?
- Go, Jacko, go.
Two strong boys on the back here.
The process is to, as a team,
work together
and carry the balloon to the basket.
Is that it? No, whoa. Go! Go!
- Yes! We're killing them.
- Good job, guys.
- Let's go.
- Now dump it in.
Three, two, one.
We're nearly there.
Guys, what are they doing?
Maybe you just pull it in.
Maybe you just start
shoving it in from the end.
- From that end?
- Yeah, I think that's what it is.
- I got it.
- One, two, three - go!
Oh, my God. This is really hard.
Get out. Get out.
Wait, wait. We don't know
She's all clear.
- Nah, they're done.
- They're done?
Keep going, guys.
"Route Info.

"Home of the "Henley-On-Todd Regatta."
The Top End's iconic
Henley-On-Todd Regatta
is an annual charity yacht race
with a difference.
the Alice Springs Rotary Club decided
to go one better than
its royal Pommy counterpart,
creating the only dry-river regatta
in the world.
In this challenge, the teams must
select their personal yacht
and carry it around the 500m course.
But this ain't no cruisy
yacht party, me hearties.
Normally, it takes six people
to carry these heavy boats,
and the Alice Springs community
has just mutinied.
- Arrrgh!
- Arrrgh!
And they are determined
to sink our teams.
- "Watch out for pirates!"
- Let's go!
My dad's gonna be so proud of us!
We won!
- Up and over this one?
- Oh, it's done, guys.
Check! Check!
Check.
Really happy
with how fast our team did it.
We were only a couple of minutes
behind Violeta's team.
Yay! Thank you!
And she's a professional
hot-air balloon daughter, you know.
I think our team did really well,
even though we had no idea
what we were doing.
"Make your way to the Todd River."
- "Watch out for pirates!"
- Watch out for pirates?!
Let's get to the bus so
that we can beat the others.
Come on, come on, come on!
- V and Jordan, guys.
- Teamwork!
We got there, we were the bottom four.
We're leaving top four.
Be proud of yourself,
and let's keep this going.
So, now the top four
are the bottom four.
Pretty upset that we're
in the last group now.
So, now we're at the back of the pack.
Just ride the roller-coaster.
Taxi!
Everyone gets a taxi!
Back in Alice Springs,
the gloves come off
and it was every team
for themselves again.
- Taxi!
- Taxi!
- Oh, thank you, Colin.
- Hi, guys. How are you?
Hi. Good. How are you?
I think we're first, Dwes.
I think the Tesla's
definitely getting up
in front of the other teams.
Gonna be so handy
for challenges like this.
Our magnificent driver, Colin,
is just doing all of that
heavy lifting for us,
and we're just doing the running.
Yeah.
Let's go. Let's go, let's go,
let's go. Taxi.
See taxis everywhere -
not when you need one.
- Taxi! Taxi! Taxi!
- Taxi!
Come on, Kath.
We are the first team
to reach the regatta.
Oh, that's the boat up there.
Choose this one.
- That's too big.
- Yeah?
Too wide.
So, we had to hold up a boat
and cross to the other side
of the riverbed
Arrrgh!
..and make it back.
- You go front?
- Alright, I've got front.
- Is that right?
- Oh!
..hell!
Yeah, that was pretty pretty hard,
because they're really heavy.
Kath, Kath. Wait, wait. Wait.
- Come on!
- I don't think I can do it.
It was so heavy.
Ugh! Let's go!
Oh, my God.
- Come on.
- Up past there, around the buoy.
Do we just go straight up for it, guys?
- Arrrgh!
- Aagh!
- Run, ya scurvy dogs! Run!
- Aagh!
There was water going everywhere.
And they were firing bombs at us.
Aagh!
- Arrrrgh!
- Quite a challenge.
Aagh!
Thanks, brother.
We're going to Alice Springs
Telegraph Station.
- OK, let's go.
- OK, let's go.
We get the bus back into town, and
we see the other teams stood there.
There's a cab rank
here. There's no cabs.
Just over here somewhere?
Jeez - Jordan and
Violeta are still there.
Oh, wait. No way. They got a cab.
- No, no - just drive past them.
- Wait, wait
Wanna share?
- There no space.
- There's no space, sorry.
No, no space.
Should we get someone to call us a cab?
Are you sure we shouldn't
just stand there and wait?
Hopefully, we can make ground up
once we get to the Telegraph Station.
- Thanks so much, good sir.
- Thank you!
You're very lucky you found me
because I know this town
like the back of my hand.
- Oh, Perfect.
- Oh! We What's your name?
- Stanley.
- Stanley. We love you, Stanley.
- Thanks, Stanley.
- I'm gonna make a song about you.
- Some of the other ones have got in.
- Stanley, Stanley ♪
Thank you. We're racing that other cab.
Holly! I told you to stand here. Holly!
And we're the last ones there.
We both agreed to ask
someone. And then you're saying
I told you, "Let's stay at the
taxi rank." And you're like, "No."
Just don't make decisions
on your own and I follow.
- That's not how it works.
- No, I thought we agreed to ask to call.
I know. But I'm just saying, in general.
- That's fine. But we both agree to call.
- Alright, Cool.
- OK.
- Let's move on and focus on this.
Right, let's go, let's go,
let's go, let's go.
We rock up
to the regatta, right.
We saw pirates, we saw these ships,
and we saw these cannons.
Very confused.
How do we do this?
- Seeing Dwes and Katherine there
- Aaagh!
..we knew we had this opportunity
to make up one spot.
Let's go.
Anurag! Little bit right!
Little bit right! Go right! Go right!
- What have we gotta do?
- Go round.
- Go back again? Yep.
- Yep.
Our arms and legs were so tired.
But we can't afford to slow down,
or we'll lose our lead.
Aagh!
Seeing the regatta run,
honestly, one word I thought
was just, "Mayhem."
Oh, my Jeez!
Ah. So we've gotta pick a boat.
To the boats!
Arrrgh!
Whoo!
Arrrgh!
Keep going, Skye.
- Katherine, back there! Back
- Where?
- That's our starting point!
- It's not close enough.
Anurag! Left! Left! Left!
- Yes! We got it!
- Yay!
Arrrgh!
- Thank you! Whoo!
- Thank you so much.
We just got in there, gave it our all
and got out as quickly
as possible and
..we were leading the race.
"Detour - Build or Bathe."
A Detour is a choice
between two challenges,
each with their own pros and cons.
The team that chooses Build will
head to Alice Springs Skate Park,
where Australia's first ever
Indigenous pro skater,
Nicky Hayes, mentors local kids.
Here, they must construct one of
three different skateboard ramps
for the Spinifex skaters
and their mob from the
Ltyentye Apurte Community.
Our teams must make either
a grind box, a quarter pipe
or a table top ramp.
And once my mate Nicky
gives his seal of approval,
they'll receive their next clue.
Now, back in 1840, the fist camel,
by the name of Harry,
stepped foot in Australia.
Since then, numbers have swollen
to 1 million.
That's right - there are 1 million
of these beautiful creatures
roaming the outback.
Teams that choose Bathe must come
down here, to Pyndan camel farm,
select a camel, wash it,
groom it and dry it.
Then, they'll have to please it
with a carrot.
Then they'll get their next clue.
We're doing the Build.
Let's go.
Kath, I'm really happy with
how we smashed that so quickly.
I really thought the boys
would catch up to us,
but we maintained our lead.
Yep. Most definitely.
- Thank you.
- Thank you.
- Should we just Build?
- OK.
Let's go.
Let's run. Let's run.
Oh, no! Oh!
- Oh! Thank you!
- Yes!
- Thank you so much!
- Thank you.
- Build or Bathe? Bathe.
- Let's do Bathe.
- Let's go.
- Bathe, 100%.
Camel time!
Arrrrgh!
- Wanna do the camel?
- Camel.
- Do the camel.
- Let's go.
- Arrrrgh!
- Aaagh!
- Bathe?
- Bathe.
- Bathe.
- OK.
- Wait there, Stanley.
- Won't be too long.
- Oh, we're gonna Here. This sign.
- Beautiful.
OK, we'll be back soon.
We weren't too far behind
Chris and Aleisha,
so we had a chance to beat them.
Which boat do you want, then?
- Oh, baby, I'm dead.
- This one, baby.
- The boats were pretty heavy.
- So heavy.
And Aleisha was like, "I'll just
grab the front of the boat
"and, Chris, you grab the rest."
Ready?
OK, go, go, go.
Let's go, Dolor.
Can you run?
Wait for me.
Alright, let's go.
Aagh!
- Run, ya scurvy dogs!
- Arrrgh!
Let's go!
Chris and Aleisha
were just ahead of us,
and we were so determined to catch them.
Hey, hey, hey. I
gotta lift, I gotta lift.
I had to take my glasses off,
'cause they were saturated with water.
Keep going, babe.
We saw our chance, and we went for it.
- Ready?
- OK.
We're neck-and-neck
with Aleisha and Chris.
OK, keep going, keep going.
Oh, God!
Run, Ashy!
We're gonna win this thing.
- Keep going, babe.
- OK.
Oh, God.
We're neck and neck
with Aleisha and Chris.
We're trying to run as fast as we can
with this big, heavy boat.
Come on.
Yeah, good stuff. Good stuff, Aleisha.
We overtook them. It
was a sweet overtake,
I must admit.
Considering what
happened the night before.
- Back, Aleisha. Back to the start.
- I'm trying, babe.
I know, I know. Yeah, keep going.
Stop, stop, stop.
We get halfway
back and then I just feel
my whole body just lose energy.
I can't do this!
It's so heavy.
Being out in the hot sun has
just taken a huge toll on me
and I just was completely drained
and I was so tired.
Aleisha, keep going.
Just drop it.
Let's go.
We beat Chris and Aleisha.
It was a really good feeling.
Hello.
- Whoo!
- Thank you so much.
- Thank you.
- Let's go.
- Detour.
- Build, for sure.
OK, let's go.
Come on, come on, let's go.
So, we arrive at
the skate park Detour first.
Hello. We're here to help you
build a skate park.
We're required to pick a skate park
element to build.
We're just gonna choose this one here.
We chose a quarter pipe.
We've gotta look at what we've got.
I don't know what to do.
If we can just lay it out properly.
So, we don't know anything
about how to build.
Never had to do this before.
This doesn't fit.
Doesn't fit. Really it doesn't.
Let's go, mate.
So, we've got a quarter pipe here.
So we had picked a quarter pipe.
We know this will fit in there, right?
We thought we could overtake
Dwes and Katherine.
"One teammate must enter the camel's
pen and choose a camel
"and you must not run at any point.
"Be calm and relaxed around the camels."
- I've never been so close to a camel.
- Yeah? Oh, really?
- I know nothing about camels.
- I think this could be fun.
We've decided that we're
going to do things
that we wouldn't otherwise do,
and so we picked that Detour.
- Welcome to Pyndan Camel Tracks.
- Thank you very much.
I am afraid of horses
and, like, cows, camels,
just big animals that you can't control.
I was so nervous.
- Don't look at it.
- I'm not.
Wait, I'm behind it. I'm behind it.
Oh, God. Sorry, camel.
We needed to make sure
that we stayed focused
and that we didn't get too flustered,
which is what we tend to do.
Oh, my God.
Sorry.
You're dirty. Why are you so dirty?
Oh, my God.
Don't touch its leg.
Don't touch its leg.
When we got there, we had to
one of us had to walk in the yard.
They all had lead ropes on them.
I went in there and grabbed
a camel and pulled him out.
Are you gonna hop up?
Are you gonna stand up for me?
I've never done anything
with camels before.
Doesn't look very happy, does he?
He doesn't look overly impressed, no.
She was showing a bit of teeth.
I thought, "Here we go,
I'm gonna lose an ear in a minute."
- Alright, you good to go?
- Yeah, bud. When you are.
You're gonna get the camel, yeah, Skye?
Yeah.
- Thanks, Skye.
- Come on.
Come on, Skye.
Come on.
- Try the other camel.
- Hello.
Never washed a camel before.
Washed plenty of horses though.
Wash from the top down, bud.
It was, like, really tedious.
It was a challenge.
You're bigger than my horse back
home, I can tell you that much.
Some Detours are quicker than
others. We really picked the wrong one.
- Slow down, baby.
- OK, OK, OK. Just tell me.
I can't do this.
Up the bank, up the bank, up the bank.
- Up the bank? Alright.
- No, no, no, no, go straight!
- Go straight!
- Which way do I go?
You gotta go
Oh, my God!
This is a 'weird as hell' challenge.
Aleisha, keep going.
We've just gotta put our boat back.
- OK.
- Stop.
You put it down. Aleisha,
it's heavy for me too, right?
I know.
Just drop it.
Aleisha, you're doing really,
really well. Really, really well.
I don't feel well.
Ah! Thank you so much.
- What do you reckon? Let's go build.
- Build.
That was hard, hard work.
Really good job with that, babe.
That was really, really good.
Whoa!
Thank you.
- Can you build?
- Build, you reckon?
- It's up to you. We're wasting time.
- Babe, we've gotta pick one.
I'm happy to pick, do Build,
but if you're happy to touch
a camel, then let's go camels.
"Help build a skate park."
- Alright, Build it is. Let's go.
- Alright, let's go.
- 'Cause camels are cool.
- Yeah.
Like, I'd have chosen it,
but I think this one's just quicker.
I wish I had an electric
screwdriver, Kathy,
'cause this is becoming
quite challenging.
Come on.
Don't don't move. Don't move.
Thank you.
We arrive at Alice Springs Skate Park
and see the Sikhs already there,
struggling,
along with Dwes and Katherine.
Grind box.
I saw at the back that there was
a grind box that we could build,
which is super-easy,
it's just basically a big rectangle.
Alright, let's start.
I'd hung out at a lot of skate parks
with my brother when I was younger.
I didn't actually skate, but I knew
what a skate park looked like,
and that was my only knowledge.
Yeah, sweet, alright.
Let's get those big screws in.
I just was completely
drained and I was so tired.
I'm really proud of you, OK?
And I just started to feel
really, really unwell.
What's wrong, baby?
You have to pull over, please.
Oh, my God.
I can't keep DOING this.
Do you think you've got it now?
I couldn't do it and I feel so sick.
The whole race is just taking
a huge toll on me.
- I can't keep doing this.
- Stay there for a sec, alright?
But it was something
I had to push through.
OK. Alright.
The sooner we finish,
the sooner we can get
I feel better.
Good job, baby. Really proud of you.
I reckon we just do what
they're doing 'cause we can copy.
- This one here?
- Yep.
Just seems easy. Like, all they're
doing is putting that on.
- Yep. And screwing it together.
- Yeah.
Let's copy exactly
what they're doing, hey?
We have to catch them.
We looked over at Ashleigh and Amanda's.
Straightaway, we saw how the
grind box was meant to go together.
Just say regular.
OK. This is how it goes.
This is obviously the top.
Yep.
- Don't let Chris and Aleisha see.
- Mm-hm.
Are they copying us?
If people wanna play
their game like that,
then they're gonna
get U-turned later on.
Like, they've pissed off
a few other teams already
for doing those shady things.
So they can just dig themselves a hole.
Some of the other teams
had picked sort of a grind bar.
We had picked a quarter pipe.
Keep going what I'm doing?
You keep going. Keep going.
I'm just gonna try and figure this out.
Sabo and Tage, our kangaroos,
had to be with us at all times.
Hold on. Let's just think for a second.
Our approach was to plan out
what we were gonna do
and make sure we were doing it
correctly from the beginning.
- I don't know where that
- This just goes over the top, hey?
- Might have to.
- Look there.
- Yeah.
- Oh, no, that has to go
We were the first to arrive
at the skate park
but we'd picked the harder
Detour challenge.
We picked the quarter pipe,
just the same as the Super Sikhs.
The other teams were in front of us
and I can just feel my heart
start to race.
I'll pull and you push. Come on.
Yeah, let's go.
We sort of winged
that challenge a little bit.
Yeah, we did.
- Just get up on top here, Jacko.
- Yeah.
Yeah, the bloke came over and checked
it and said, "Yeah, that's good.
"Go sit 'em down and dry them."
Drying station's down the bottom there.
- There we go, girl!
- It's a boy.
- Oh, it's a boy?
- His name's Sully.
That's good. That's good. Keep going.
Camels are famous for being
bad-tempered and Sully was huge.
We tried to be really careful
so we didn't make him grumpy.
- Yeah.
- Ooh-hoo-hoo.
- Ooh! Did he just kick you?
- No.
Just careful.
Let it relax a little bit.
Don't touch his leg.
Don't touch his leg.
Ooh.
It's alright. It's OK.
It's OK.
I kept putting my hands
too close to her leg,
so she kept kind of, like, kicking.
It's alright. Just be calm.
Hey, it's alright.
Oh, this is so tough.
Blister already.
- Really?!
- Yeah.
I'm the one with the delicate hands
here, everybody!
- Leave it, leave it. Leave it.
- Let's go.
- Hopefully there's one left.
- !
When we arrived to the skate park,
we were the last ones there.
We seen those teams have
already arrived before us.
Dwes and Katherine, the Super Sikhs,
Amanda and Ashleigh
and Chris and Aleisha.
So when we got there, we picked
the first one we could find.
- Table top. Yeah.
- Here we are.
We are not handy people whatsoever.
I'll call my dad. Dolor
will call his brother.
Can you read the clue again? That's
why I told you to get it out before.
I've got it here. That's
why I'm not putting it away.
I don't know if I can do this.
- Cool. Awesome. Awesome.
- Yeah.
I'm glad we chose that station.
It was, like,
the easiest thing to put together.
We didn't have a thousand bolts
and screws.
It goes from the outside.
- But on the leg part. Do you see?
- Yeah.
- OK, that's it.
- Yep. Good?
- Yep.
- Happy with that?
- Yep.
- Shall we start painting?
Yeah.
We put the grind box together
then we had to paint it, super fast.
We might be able to make up
three places here, babe.
- Potentially.
- Potentially.
May we please have a check?
Go.
- Yeeee!
- Yeah!
Oh, my God!
Yes! Thank you.
- Thank you so much!
- Thank you!
Read the info.
"Make your way to the Ghan Station
to find Beau at the Pit Stop."
Once called the Afghan Express,
The Ghan takes its name
from the 19th-century camel drivers
who helped open up travel and trade
in the outback.
So, what better place to race to
than its station.
Here, the teams will meet me
for the ninth Pit Stop
of The Amazing Race Australia.
And remember, the last team to arrive
may be eliminated.
"Hurry, the last team that arrives
may be eliminated."
Let's go.
We were pretty stoked
that we beat Aleisha and Chris.
We painted the top which when we
looked over at Ashleigh and Amanda's,
they hadn't even painted the top.
They hadn't painted half of the sides.
Check, please!
- It's for the kids, though.
- That's true.
- Extra painted for the kids.
- That's true. It's for the kids.
- Yes!
- Whoo!
Oh, thank you so much.
- Thank gosh, we passed!
- Thanks, kids.
- Stanley!
- Hi, Stanley.
Nah. I got it all out.
Shit.
Maybe we'll do it like a tyre.
You know how you don't do the thing?
You just do the middle one.
You got enough screws in?
As soon as you remove it,
there'll be a joint
- Don't worry about this one.
- I'm not doing that one at all.
So, yeah, we're going
to the Ghan Station, please.
- I'm so pumped right now.
- I'm so freaking stoked.
Amazing. I'm so proud of us.
"Take your taxi to the Ghan Station
then pay and release your taxi."
That's you, Stanley.
Who do we know for
sure is in front of us?
- All we know is the girls in front.
- Ashleigh and Amanda.
- That's all we know.
- We need to catch up to them.
We can do it.
We could come first today.
This could be a foot race.
I'll get the bags.
We were 99% sure we were
in first place at this stage.
Oh, my God! Oh, my God!
Welcome to The Ghan
at Alice Springs Station.
Thank you!
Ashleigh and Amanda
..you are first team to check in.
And you've won an
Alice Springs experience,
staying at Sails in the Desert,
and a Sounds of Silence dinner,
thanks to Voyages.
Thank you! Thank you so much.
Well, I need to tell you,
it's not over yet.
- Oh, my gosh.
- Here's your next clue.
Step aboard The Ghan
and continue racing.
- Well done.
- Thank you. Thanks, Beau.
- I'll see you on there. Get on there.
- Whoo!
We're super proud of ourselves.
We are doing it for the girls
of Australia
and so we're so proud of ourselves
for winning two legs.
- Thanks, Stanley.
- Thanks, Stanley!
We're out of there pretty much
as soon as we got there.
Chris and Aleisha, you are
- ..second team to check in.
- Oh, yeah.
We wanted to win this leg.
We caught up a little bit
but not enough to catch them.
We're just slowing building
our way up to first,
which we will do next leg.
It's not over yet.
Here is your next clue.
Jump aboard The Ghan
and continue racing.
- Well done.
- OK!
I think you put
the wrong screws in.
I had a feeling this could happen
if we chose Build It.
Only one team's gone, so
we're still fine.
Two teams now.
We're seeing other teams complete it
with ease and leave with ease
and to see us stuck there,
in that hot, 38-degrees weather,
oh, it was killing me.
You've experienced camels before.
Why did you wanna choose building?
As a couple, usually when you put
furniture together,
or doing something together,
usually an argument will happen
and it's no different to us.
- Oh.
- Do you wanna change?
- Keep going!
- Stop getting flustered.
- We both agreed we'd build it.
- Just keep doing it!
We both agreed. Why
are you trying to make this?
Just screw
- ..seem like I'm the one that chose?
- Oh, my God.
You're killing me here.
Stop Start screwing.
Alice has been good.
She's a good camel.
But we had to tie 'em up at
the drying station and sit 'em down,
which was, "Hoosh, hoosh."
- Yeah, "Hoosh, hoosh."
- Brendon was in charge of that.
Hoosh, hoosh.
- Good job.
- Good job.
Down it went
and I was like, "Oh, finally."
Hoosh, hoosh.
Hoosh, hoosh, Sully.
- Hoosh-hoosh.
- Hoosh-hoosh.
- Hoosh, hoosh.
- Hoosh, hoosh.
Hoosh, hoosh.
Did you just
did you throw your arms up?
- Hoosh, hoosh.
- Not too much.
Hoosh, hoosh.
- Just a little bit?
- Be dominant.
Hoosh, hoosh.
You are the man, Jordan.
You are the MAN, Jordan. Jeez.
Hoosh, hoosh.
Looks
Violeta's the man now.
That's it.
You're the one that tells me,
"Don't worry about the teams."
But you're watching
them like hawks here.
We thought Bathe,
like, dealing with an animal,
you don't always know
how they're gonna react.
So, we thought, "Build It,
we won't have those problems."
You got set up the next bit.
Let me put these in.
We're still beating
Holly and Dolor, so it's fine.
The challenge involved
building sections of a skate park
and then painting it.
So, once we had everything figured out,
we just got right down to it.
You go with the roller
and I'll finish off with the brush.
OK. Keep going, wherever you can, bro.
We are getting close to
finishing the build.
Um, I think Katherine, do you
want me to start painting?
It was all around safety today,
and making it look pretty.
Kath, we're almost there,
to the finish line.
Yep.
Thank God.
We even spray-painted
the actual logo on it,
so we actually made it look
so good for the kids.
It's a spa day.
We knew that we were
uh, there was a few teams behind us
so our main goal was to finish this leg.
I'm having visions of
my little labrador.
She needs a little bit of shampoo.
Her hair's very knotted.
Dried old Alice off
and gave her a brush.
We'll do this quick, bro.
See how they've
brushed theirs down?
Of course.
Obviously you haven't
brushed a camel's hair before.
My number one priority was to land
on that mat as soon as we could.
You know what to do with these,
don't you?
Put 'em in our mouth
and we feed 'em to her.
Is that safe?
- I hope so.
- Oh
- How'd you do it?
- Just on the tip of my teeth.
Let go of it.
Come on. Pick it up.
You have to do it with your mouth,
so let go of it.
Let go of it. Good girl.
There you go. Well done.
- Congratulations, guys.
- Beautiful.
Thank you so much. That
was That was really great.
That was an
amazing experience.
"..to The Ghan Station
to find Pit Stop.
"Hurry! The last team to arrive
may be eliminated."
- Alright, let's go.
- Let's go.
Good girl.
He has to take it
from your mouth.
- That was a beautiful moment.
- It was nice.
We quickly get our next clue,
knowing that we've gotta make up ground.
Let's just hope the other challenge
takes a lot longer than that.
- You get frustrated with mine.
- Because you do the same to me.
OK. It's all my fault again, alright?
That Detour was just so
so time-consuming.
38 degrees. It was
it was really hard.
Not worried at all.
I'm pretty worried. I'm pretty worried.
Straight to The Ghan, brother.
We got back in the taxi
and had our Subway.
Best meal you'll ever get.
- The old Camry's got a bit of power.
- Yeah.
And, uh, had to head to
the 'Gan' train station.
- The 'Garn'.
- 'Gan'.
I just hope we beat the Cowboys there.
Is that it there, on the right?
- Perfect.
- Beautiful. Thank you, sir.
I'm coming, I'm coming.
Got it.
Welcome to The Ghan
at Alice Springs Station.
- Thank you. Thank you.
- Thank you so much.
Jordan and Violeta, you are
..third team to check in.
- Oh, brilliant! Nice work!
- Yes!
Well done! Good job.
Hang on a minute. It's not over yet.
- Oh, of course.
- Oh
Here's your next clue.
Jump aboard The Ghan
and continue racing.
Great work, Skye.
Skye-Blue and Jake, you are
- ..fourth team to check in.
- Yes!
I got your bag, Jacko!
Cheers, bro.
Brendon and Jackson,
you are
..fifth team to check in.
Happy days.
Oh, mate, we were stoked.
We might have only moved up one spot
in the competition
but, I mean, that's a huge jump for us,
so we'll keep climbing
the ladder until the end.
This side has
to be the, um, spray-paint.
I'll get the spray-paint.
There was a fair bit of pressure,
being at the back of the pack.
So, we don't know
if we were last, at this point.
Not gonna give up. We need this.
I'm just doing the edges here.
The top looks good. We're
not going home today.
I think we've got
this. I think we've got it.
Yeah, but all you've
gotta do is, like, slide. Alright.
When things
get stressful, we argue.
Until we start communicating
better, we are going to struggle.
You keep saying that
bullshit, it's pissing me off.
Ohh!
For sure, I'm thinking, "This
is it. We're going home."
Keep going, as fast as you can, dude.
The challenge involved
building sections of a skate park.
There was
us, the Deadly Duo
..and Holly and
Dolor that were left there.
- Do you want to do that side leg?
- Yeah.
We obviously didn't
want to be in the bottom.
Like, do
these corners and stuff.
That's what I'm doing. That's
what I'm doing. Thank you.
Coming into this Detour, we were second,
um, and this was our
Detour to climb spots.
However, we have Sabo and Tage with us.
That was tough.
- Check, please?
- I think it's good.
- Thank you.
- Thank you, mate. Thank you.
Check, please?
Whoo!
That's a good one.
- Thank you.
- Thank you.
"Make your way to The Ghan
Station to find Beau at the Pit Stop."
"Hurry! The
last team may be eliminated."
Let's go, let's go, let's go.
We left at the same time Dwes
and Katherine were leaving.
There was only Holly and Dolor left.
So, if we can go to The Ghan Station
- Fastest route possible.
- Not a problem.
Colin, you're the bomb!
Oh, God, this is crazy, Katherine.
They're right behind us, dude.
They're right behind us.
Is there an overtaking thing here?
Oh, he just overtook us.
I don't even know if we'll pass.
I don't know either.
We finally put the ramp together.
All we needed to do
was spray the top with the sign.
Check, please?
- Thank you.
- Thank you.
"Make your way to Ghan Station
to find Beau at the Pit Stop.
"Hurry! The last team to
arrive may be eliminated."
Ghan Station, please.
Jas, we've still gotta bolt.
Drop us off here. Just drop us off here.
Drop us off here. Boot, please!
Yep, let's go. Let's go. Let's go!
Come on.
This way, this way!
Whoo!
Welcome to The Ghan.
- Thank you!
- Thank you.
Dwes and Katherine, you are
- ..sixth team to check in.
- Whoo!
Jaskirat and Anurag,
that makes you seventh.
Good work. Good work, Jas.
- Well done.
- Killed it.
Sabo and Tage were
meant to be a Sabotage.
And, quite frankly, they
were. They did hinder us.
But it doesn't matter
what else life throws at us,
we've just got to keep pushing through.
Ready to go back to normal life.
I don't think the outback's for us.
Very hot out here.
Manual labour, which we're not
we're not those type of people.
We're definitely, like,
office type people, you know,
with the air-conditioning,
doing the deals behind
behind the laptops.
Definitely not out in the open air.
But we had fun.
Holly and Dolor
..you are
..the last team to check in.
How you feeling?
All race, there's been
things with you guys.
You guys can go all the way -
you both know that.
That's why, every time you
get to the mat, you're upset -
with each other, with
me, with everything.
It's hard to let people
like you guys go.
I'm not gonna lie.
But today's a predetermined
non-elimination leg.
Are you joking?
- This is a joke.
- Are they joking?
- You serious?
- Promise you.
Wow.
Here's your next clue.
It's not over yet. Jump on
The Ghan and continue racing.
We're sort of really surprised.
But at this point, I'm
not gonna ask questions.
We took the clue, said, "Thank you,"
and we got on that train.
Thank you.
- We're going on The Ghan.
- We're on The Ghan, baby.
- Yeah!
- Yes! Come on.
So, when we
boarded The Ghan, we thought
we were just going to bed.
Bedtime!
But that wasn't it.
We find out - uh-oh
We got sent to our rooms
and there was an iPad
with a message from Beau.
Welcome aboard The Ghan,
Australia's most famous rail journey.
However
..you're now locked in this cabin
To find your beds for the night,
you're gonna have to
think your way out of here.
Oh, man.
It was like we were on
our wit's end, weren't we?
Next time on The
Amazing Race Australia
..teams take an epic journey
Oh, this is so bad-ass!
There is a labyrinth of tunnels.
Now we've got to find
our way out of here.
..to the centre of the earth.
Do you want to try up here?
Well, Coober Pedy, to be precise.
It's so windy!
And the new stowaways arrive
- What?
- You're kidding.
..to muscle their way into the race.
We've come to change the
stereotype about body-builders.
We're not just dumb meat-heads.
It's just about being a bit smart.
- Where do I go, Wayne? Right or left?
- We go Right
Where is it? Right?
