The Amazing Race Australia (2011) s05e24 Episode Script

Season 5, Episode 24

Previously on
The Amazing Race Australia
Three, two, one. Go!
..it all began when 14 teams
began the adventure of a lifetime
in Queensland's Daintree Rainforest.
Awesome!
We crisscrossed our great southern land,
the most extreme country on the planet,
Dad! Dad!
- Can you continue in the race?
- No.
And one-by-one
Your time in the race is over.
..we said goodbye
It's alright.
..to our teams
You are living proof that
you can do anything and everything.
..until only three were left standing -
the Gold Coast girls,
the Super Sikhs
and the Cowboys.
These three amazing teams
We've got a really good
friendship with the Cowboys and Sikhs.
..will now go head-to-head.
We are all battling it out.
You have got to be joking.
And what an incredible journey
they all had.
Yes!
The Super Sikhs had a dream start,
winning the very first leg.
First team to arrive.
Oh, my heart rate went up!
We won!
Being Sikhs, we've always been warriors.
It's all about being determined,
being strong and never giving up.
- They have a strong moral compass.
- You will get through it.
And the will to win.
- Super Sikhs are coming.
- Yeah!
The Cowboys had a disastrous debut
Don't give up hope.
..and were lucky to survive
the first leg.
Still in.
We can only go up from here.
This is like a rodeo. You do not quit!
Not the fittest ones
or the smartest ones,
but we're going to give it 110%.
That cowboy mentality!
They have a constant reminder
of why they're here.
All I kept thinking was my family, kids.
- Yes, girl! Whoo!
- Girl power.
The Gold Coast Girls
start as race favourites.
Doing it for the girls,
showing Australian women we can be
as strong as any of the men out there.
These girls are the total package
We're not afraid to get dirty,
and we are strong and we fight.
..both brains and brawn.
We can win this.
We can be the only all-girl team
to win the whole Amazing Race.
..winning more legs than
any other all-female team
in Amazing Race Australia history.
There's no prize for second place.
Tonight
She's going to come down to
who wants it more. The race is on.
- Three amazing teams
- 250K!
..one final race to the finish line.
Race isn't over until you're on
the pit mat.
Mt Kosciuszko is
the breathtaking final pit stop
where one team will take home
a quarter of a million dollars.
This is the finale of
The Amazing Race Australia.
Our three final teams are waking,
suspended from the side of a cliff
overlooking the iconic Sydney Harbour.
And it's from this epic location
they're about to start the final leg
of the Amazing Race Australia.
Never in a thousand years
would I have thought
we would be sleeping off the ground
- Mate, it was something, wasn't it?
- We looked over the city.
- It was beautiful.
- Amazing. Unreal, bro.
Swagged plenty of rodeos.
Plenty of swags, all the time,
but never done that before.
Never, ever slept off the ground
like that before.
This is unreal!
It was insane.
Hello! Welcome to the party.
The Amazing Race
is the most epic adventure!
Laying there with that amazing view
of the Harbour Bridge and the light show
was absolutely incredible.
Here's to the final finish, eh?
We'll pass anyone's who's running.
So, we're keen for
whatever to come next.
- Bring it on.
- Show us what you're made out of.
Let's go!
- "Roadblock."
- Roader.
"Roadblock. Who's the
best judge of heights?"
- Oh, no
- Mine, brother.
Me?
- You are.
- Alright.
"Fly to Canberra,
"our nation's capital, and home
of the High Court of Australia."
A Roadblock is a task that only one
team member must choose to complete,
based on a cryptic clue.
In this Roadblock, teams will head
to Lake Burley Griffin in Canberra,
where one team member will
attempt to ride a flight board
for 10 seconds.
It's going to take all their balance
and coordination to stay up.
And as they're in the shadow
of the High Court of Australia,
they'll be dressed as judges.
Once they've successfully mastered
their 10 seconds in flight,
they'll receive their next clue.
- This is it.
- This is it.
Been a long seven weeks.
It's all come down to one leg.
Hey, mate, just the
airport, please, Domestic.
Thank you.
Just stick our heads down,
go as hard as we can.
- Anything can happen today.
- Yeah, totally.
Thanks, mate.
Thank you.
Teams are flying from Sydney
to our nation's capital.
Canberra was founded back in 1913,
specifically to stop the fight
between Sydney and Melbourne
over which one should be
the Aussie capital.
Situated on traditional Ngunnawal land,
It is Australia's largest inland city,
the seat of our nation's political power
and our first stop for the epic finale
of The Amazing Race, Australia.
Up here. Hey, mate!
Teams will depart the airport
in the order in which
they reached the last pit stop.
Can we please go to Lake Burley Griffin,
where Anzac Parade meets?
The finale in Canberra.
How are you feeling about this?
I'm alright.
You've got to be, exactly.
I don't care what it is.
- I don't care if you're
- I'm good.
..scaling a frigging high building.
You've got to do it.
I'm all over that.
It's not our type of thing,
around water and that sort of thing.
But we're here to overcome
all these things
and get across the finish line and win.
I've never done one of
these, but it looks pretty cool.
I'm glad you're doing this,
you've surfed before.
Yeah.
I reckon
you'll be good at this.
I've spent a lot of time in the water.
I've never done flight boarding, though,
so I'm really unsure how I'll go on it.
But I'm hoping that this is a challenge
we can jump back in first at.
So this should be
Lake Burley Griffin here.
- Holy do
- Yeah, it's cool, eh?
- Thank you very much.
- Thanks. Thanks, mate.
Let's go, brah!
The other teams weren't far behind us,
Plan to just go in.
Get it done as quick as we can
and get out of here in first.
Maintain this position.
- Thank you very much.
- Thank you.
You're going to be a witch, Jacko.
You're going to smash this, bro.
I'll tighten it in a minute.
We're for doing this for
our kids and our family
in country New South Wales,
in country Australia,
so there's a lot riding on it.
Clean yourself up. Come on, get it!
Not the physically fittest ones
or the smartest ones,
but we're sure as hell
going to give it 110%.
We've got to get in there
and get it done. We can win this.
Get into it, son. Go and have fun.
Lower yourself into the water.
Never done much surfing, ever.
I've been out at the dam a few times
when I was a kid,
on the knee boards
and that sort of stuff
Good luck, dude.
There he goes. Attaboy!
He's doing good, standing up here.
He's just trying to get
it out of the water.
I don't know why it's not
coming out of the water,
unless he's not trying.
Take your time.
I don't care how long this takes.
Can you grab my outfit, babe?
Jas is about to have a dig on his.
This is going to be hard work for him.
But it's the finale.
Sacrificed a lot and pushed through
quite a lot to make it this far.
Coming into this, Anurag
and I had one goal -
we want to put Sikhs on the map.
Let's go, Jas!
How often do the Australian public
look at Sikhs and understand who we are?
Well done, Jas!
And if we can get even one
person that watches this race
and identify a person
walking on the street as a Sikh,
and he knows what that person
stands for and what his values are,
we've done our job.
Jas, you're doing really well!
Amanda, this is your
chance to get in front.
Yes, Amanda!
Well done, well done!
Send it, Jacko!
Now he's got it.
It's actually
a lot of balance and timing.
- I was struggling. It was tough.
- It was hard, mate.
You got this, Amanda. Get it done.
I'm just there to do it and get out
of there as quick as I possibly can
and win the whole Amazing Race.
We're doing it for the girls
and showing Australian women
that we can be as strong
as any of the men out there.
Yeah, she's going to nail this.
Good, good, good. Now get up
Nice, Amanda!
We really need to
overtake other teams
to get into that winning position.
It was so hard.
I can't even describe how hard it was.
I guess it's not as easy as it looks.
Ready, Jacko?
It's all you, bro.
Get your 12 seconds - I know it's
only 10, but go for 12 and then SEND it.
Jas is going out now.
Hopefully he gets it.
We ride horses,
so balance is everything.
You've got to be pretty balanced.
Lean forward, bro. Lean forward.
Watching Jackson go out,
and he'd stand up
and then he'd go back down.
You could see the disappointment
in his face.
Take your time, dude,
take your time. Rushing it.
Today's the final day and just not
knowing what's around the corner
I mean, this challenge was going
to separate a lot of people.
To me, looking in, it looked like
the pressure was getting to him a bit.
Really, I thought
we'd lost our lead now.
This was going to be
a fight to the finish.
When it comes down to
the final three it's anyone's game
and we're all here to win the money.
So we've got to get out of here,
quick smart.
If we don't,
we're not going to win the race.
Ready, Jacko?
Today's the final day,
and with all the challenges,
you've got to be tough,
you've got to be strong,
you've got to have that mental attitude
that you can and you will do
whatever it takes to win.
Come on, Jas, you got this, bro!
The only way to
get through this is determination.
Oh. Back in the ditch.
Nail this, Amanda! Yes!
You got this, girlfriend!
I really wanted to get it,
but I just kept, I think,
overthinking it and stressing out.
In that Roadblock, I felt
a lot of pressure on my shoulders.
- You'll get it this time.
- Yeah, bro.
But this is my time now
to get us back in front.
Pressure was building up
but I just wanted to get it right.
Two, three, four, five
Once I figured out
a happy medium spot, smooth surf.
..nine, ten. Yeah, buddy!
I can breathe again.
Wow! I'm a wizard, Harry!
It was really important
that Jackson got it now
so we can get out of here
in first position.
Yeah, buddy!
- Thanks, mate. Thank you.
- Just right, dude.
Cheers, mate. Thank you.
- You good?
- Yeah, mate.
"Route Info."
"Make your way to the front lawn
of Parliament House."
In this challenge, our teams must
come here to new Parliament House,
and with these rolled up pieces,
put together two giant puzzles -
the Aboriginal flag
and the Australian national flag.
These things are humungous
..10m long and 6m wide.
And they won't have this
bird's-eye view to get it right,
let me tell you.
Once the teams
have completed both puzzles
and had them checked off by
ACT government member Tara Cheyne,
they'll receive their next clue.
Let's go.
Just relax, Amanda! You got this.
Let's do this for the girls.
Once I got the hang of
the controls of the board
and made it go fast enough,
then it was OK.
This whole time, all I'm thinking is,
"250K, I've got to get this right."
Is that a thumbs up? Yay!
Yes, Amanda! Whoo!
I'm so proud of you!
"Make your way to the front lawn
of Parliament House."
- Let's go.
- How far are we behind?
- 10 minutes?
- 10 minutes, maybe.
Parliament House, please.
- So, we're to use this whole area.
- Yeah.
- I'll just roll them out.
- Yeah. I'll keep bringing them.
We'll roll them out
and we'll figure it out.
Yeah. Oh, you've got that one there.
We'll have to work
together on this one, dude.
Yeah, definitely.
We're dead last right now.
Just need Jas to get this right,
and then we'll have to play catch-up.
I wasn't going to give up.
The only thing you really need
is willpower.
I knew there was no backing.
I had picked the Roadblock.
I'm the one that needs to get
through this challenge, nobody else.
There's no there's no point
whingeing, no point complaining.
The only thing you can do
is just give it the best.
He's not going to give up.
He's going to keep going.
And that's what this is all about.
I don't know what I was going off.
Some form of adrenaline,
some form of something.
It was just had to push.
Oh, Jas, you got it, buddy!
That's it! That's
what I'm talking about.
I got it done.
I got my 10 seconds in the air
and just sped straight back to Anurag.
I'm so proud of him
right now. Oh, my God.
Well done, bro. So proud.
"Route Info - Make your way to
the front lawn of Parliament House."
If anyone's got it, if anyone can
come back from this, it's us.
Let's go.
Ash, 250K.
The Cowboys had already started
a little bit of the first flag
and a little bit of the second.
It kind of looked
like a dog's breakfast.
So we were pretty confident we'll be
able to smash it out and catch them.
Alright. We need to count how many
of these pieces there are.
OK.
Drag this one across, you reckon?
No, let's just figure out
how many there are
'cause it might not
fill the whole space.
At first glimpse, the
Aboriginal flag looks easier to do
because there's less colours and lines.
There's only three colours and you just
have to get the circle in the middle.
However, we didn't know
how many strips of the flag
we needed on each side.
I'm trying to figure out how many
there are of these side pieces
so we have an even number on each side.
Yes. There's nine on the side.
There's currently five on that side.
We need to put four more on that side.
But do we know for sure that all of the
Aboriginal flag ones have been taken out?
OK. Let's check.
We have to pull this whole lot that
way, Jacko. We've run out of room.
Yeah, that's what it
is. Righto. Hang on.
We arrived there first, but
Amanda and Ashleigh were super quick.
Alright. Let's go find
the other yellow piece.
So, that, that's your centre.
When we were setting up,
we looked up and we saw the Australian
flag up on the Parliament House there
and we were like, "Oh, yeah, too easy."
- Go off here.
- Got a picture here.
Jacko, we're going to move it, bro.
Yeah, we've got to move all this along.
- No, that way.
- Hey?
That way. Look where our flags are.
Yeah, but that flag's over the
corner, so all your stars are next.
- With you. I've got you.
- Copy?
So let's start shuffling them along.
I see there's teams
there. I saw the Cowboys.
Figure it out later. Let's go.
- So let's start laying it out.
- Remember, we're behind people.
If you see yellow, it's
going that way. Simple.
Yellow, red, going there.
- Go your way a little bit.
- Yeah.
- Perfect. Happy?
- Yeah.
Yeah, we're good. Alright. Let's go.
- They're doing it back to front.
- Yep.
We are 100% not using anything
the Cowboys are doing as reference
because they built the flag upside down.
It was it was all wrong,
so we weren't looking at theirs.
We were just doing our thing and we
knew we were doing it the right way.
The Union Jack goes on the
left-hand side, not the right.
This could be our chance
to take the lead right now.
Righto, let's get this one now.
- So it's red, black, red
- You take the ribbons off.
Yep.
I think we smashed that one out
and went over the Aboriginal flag.
That's for our edges.
Hoping we've got a bit of a chance
because the Cowboys have
built their flag backwards.
Want to start setting them up?
- Which one's got yellow?
- If it's got yellow leave it.
Right.
- Well done.
- That it?
Yeah, last one.
We smashed the Aboriginal flag.
We got onto the Australian flag
and then we started smashing through it.
Drop it here for now.
Pull underneath it,
the parallel with the boys.
No, they're wrong, they're upside down.
Their one's wrong.
Last one.
We'll go
check the other one as well.
- Yeah?
- Yeah.
Yeah, good-o. Righto,
get them to check it.
Can we get a check, please?
They're both wrong?
Count this here, look.
One, two, three, four
On the Aboriginal flag, I think we
only had to adjust one little thing,
that we had too many on one side.
Now, that makes it 10 either side.
- Yeah?
- Yeah.
Now, count here. What have we got?
- What do we have? We got two blues.
- One, two
- That's wrong.
- Way wrong.
We've pretty much
mirrored it, in reverse.
Mate, we had stars here, stars there.
Everything's around
the wrong way, Jacko.
The whole lot.
Anurag and Jas and Amanda and Ashleigh,
- they had the correct way.
- And pretty well done.
We lost the lead, for sure, here.
Little star's got to be below.
So, we've got it right, it's just
completely flipped the wrong way, isn't it?
We've got to reset a
whole flag here, dude.
We were gutted when it happened
but we just knew we had to readjust it
and be really swift.
We'll just grab two. And we'll go up.
- What way has it got to go?
- Just come towards me.
What we've got to do is take
these front ones over here
and get the stars correct
and we'll be right from here.
Good. Next one.
- Go way back around, yeah?
- Yeah.
Jas, help me
straighten this one. Yeah? Now
We're matching it with this.
This is the one we're missing.
That one, do you reckon,
goes with that one or this one?
It's really hard to figure out
where all the stars go.
I don't know. I'm really confused.
We were both quite
stressed in this situation
and we weren't communicating
as well as we normally do.
- Alright. We need one.
- We need to calm down.
- Yeah, I know.
- OK.
I know.
- I'm not stressing, like, I'm fine.
- You seem stressed.
You seem very stressed, also.
'Cause I'm talking
to you, and you're not
I'm listening. You're
Babe, I am listening.
Or I'm not communicating
properly or something.
Because the 250K on
the line, high tension.
And we need two blues.
Should be these two, yeah?
Alright. Let's move these
two into the right position.
Quick, quick, quick, quick!
Here? Shimmy these.
Pull, pull, pull. Yeah.
We worked hard. We chipped in,
and once we shifted that
flag around and fixed it up,
we were pretty quick in there.
Come on, bro. Hustle.
Flick, flick, flick.
- Go, go, go. Stop.
- I got you.
No, I need you to stay
there. We need to fix this.
Alright.
Quick, quick, quick.
Yeah, check, please.
Check, please.
- Congratulations. They're both correct.
- Thank you!
Thank you. Let's go, let's go.
Congratulations, they're both correct.
- Thank you very much.
- Thank you.
"Roadblock."
- "Who's up next?" You are.
- OK.
- "Roadblock." Moi.
- "Who's up next?"
It's you. Let's go.
In this next challenge,
the team member who didn't
take on the last Roadblock
must tackle this monster.
First, they must make
their way to Thredbo
in the heart of Kosciusko
National Park, via chopper.
And they'll need to hurry,
'cause it's first in, first served.
Once there, they'll
board a stunt chopper.
And in one of the most thrilling
challenges I've ever seen on the race,
they will take off and
then hover above a lake.
Then while the helicopter is up there,
climb down a rope ladder
to retrieve their next clue.
Once they have their clue, they'll
jump in the freezing cold water
and swim to shore, heading
off to the next challenge.
Keep going, keep going.
Pull, pull.
- Done.
- Check, please.
Check, please.
Congratulations. They are both correct.
Thank you.
- Who's up next?
- That's you, bro. That way.
The race is on.
Come on, Jas. We're going to get this.
"Take a taxi to
the Canberra airport precinct.
"Both team mates will transfer
to Thredbo in this helicopter."
We got out of
that challenge being first.
The Cowboys would be so far in
front if they didn't mess up the flag.
"And there's limited
stations for this challenge.
"First in, first served."
This is the finale,
and being in first place
is everything right now.
So we're doing all that we can.
We can basically taste the 250K.
You know the quickest way there?
Thank you so much.
It's winning or nothing.
We're going to focus on the next task.
This is our chance at winning
the whole Amazing Race.
Things are so, so tight now,
and we just have to
keep powering through
and push it to win this race.
Those last
two challenges were tough,
but I think we did
very well in the flags.
We caught up a lot of time.
Hey, mate, will the airport
be on the right or left?
- We've got to push, push, push on
- Whatever's next, dude.
We don't care, we're
just going to give it all.
Do it, get out of there
and work our way forward.
Going from being behind,
and now being hot on everyone's heels,
mate, they knew it was on.
They knew the Super Sikhs were coming.
We know we can catch
up, right? Let's do it.
We need to go on to George Tyson Drive,
where the helicopters are.
Not normal Departures.
Is this Pialligo Avenue?
- Yeah.
- It is? OK.
There's a road down here that'll
take you onto George Tyson Drive.
So this is We need to go to the left.
Oh, yeah, we turn here.
To the left.
Oh, I can see the flags. Please turn.
Maybe we were supposed to go down there.
We were meant to turn back there.
The cab driver went the wrong way.
Can you go at the top, can
you just do a loop again, please?
We don't have time
for mistakes right now.
It felt like $250,000
was just slipping away
In one wrong turn,
just losing everything.
We were stoked about going to Thredbo
and especially to be going
there on a chopper too.
How long does it take
to get out to Snowy?
- 45 minutes.
- Is that it?
I think we need to go there.
- Give me road names.
- That's where we need to go.
Beautiful, mate.
We were still in first place.
We just thought, look, we've
got to get out of here first
to really get a lead in
front of the other teams.
Sick, eh? Love it already.
Yeah, uh Go right.
- Yeah, just, where helicopters
- Where the helicopters are.
- How sick is this?
- Very. This is spectacular.
This is another amazing
experience on this Amazing Race.
I don't have any change.
In the entire Amazing Race,
this was the most frustrated
I believe I've ever been.
We were coming first and then now
all of a sudden we're in last place.
Let's go, let's go.
I just want to race for that
mat and hear that we've won.
That's all I want, so bad.
There's no prize for second place.
We're lucky enough to
have made it to the top three,
which I think is a
pretty big achievement.
I'm still planning to take
first place this afternoon.
Yeah, we have to win.
Look at all the snow up here.
That's crazy.
Well, I haven't been to Thredbo myself.
Always wanted to come, but to
be able to fly over this sort of area
..it was unreal.
To see it from above, it was
You can't even paint a picture of it.
I mean, it was unbelievable.
Cool, bro.
Oh, my God.
I'm really excited to see Thredbo.
This is the first place on
the race I haven't ever been.
Well, it's a good place
to end the race, then.
It's been pretty unique,
going around our country
instead of internationally.
You know, you've got
to see a lot of Australia
that you probably might
have never heard of before,
which is really cool.
We've definitely had an
unforgettable time here.
It really has been amazing.
Next challenge was a Roadblock.
I took the last one, so
it was Brendan's turn.
Brendan was going to
climb out of the helicopter
- and grab the clue and
- Jump into the water.
When we pulled up, I saw there
was a chopper there with a ladder
and this ladder was huge. I was like,
"Oh, this is going to be great.
How far up we got to go?"
Once you get your clue,
jump, then swim to shore.
Anurag and Jas are in
their chopper right behind us,
so we knew we had to
keep moving to keep that lead
and keep us pushing.
I've signed
up for this Roadblock.
We're going to keep pushing
till we get to that mat.
Good luck. Go smash it.
We'll see you on the other side.
I don't know if I'm
dressed for the snow.
We have to wait for the other teams
to have their first attempt with
this Roadblock before we can.
- How are you, mate?
- Good, thank you.
But we are so determined to win.
When we got up there,
it was breathtaking.
OK, good to go.
Could see Brendan coming out.
Normally, a few
people are a bit hesitant.
- Alright?
- Good to go.
Come on, Brendan!
He just flew straight down this ladder.
There you go!
Feet didn't even touch it.
There's your clue!
There you go.
Come on, Bren, let's go!
There you go.
Whoo! Come on, Bren! Go, son!
Holy Christ, that water was cold.
She was freezing, like,
took the breath out of me.
I was like, "Right, we've got to
get out of here, quick smart."
Jumping in the
helicopter, I was worried.
I don't like heights.
Jumping out of a helicopter
into a freezing lake
We knew there was the
other teams were behind us
and we had to try to create
a real gap, so he smashed it.
"Route info."
"Find Merritts Gondola and make
your way to the top of Friday Flat."
Our teams must now head halfway
up the mountain via gondola ride
for our next challenge.
In this fast-paced adventure,
teams are about to take on the
biggest, baddest challenge yet,
and throw themselves down a
300m super-sized slip-and-slide
on the side of Mt Kosciuszko.
Starting off fast is crucial,
as they'll need momentum
to make it all the way down,
grabbing six coloured flags as they go.
Once they get all six coloured flags
..they'll receive their next clue.
- Here you are, Jacko.
- Yep.
There it is. Where are we?
On a normal day, he'll smash through it.
He's going to push through it,
I know he's not going to let go.
I was like, "Whoa. OK,
this is pretty high up."
It just got real very quickly.
OK, all good to go. Unclip.
Step out off there.
If I don't do it, we're
not going to win.
OK, all good to go. Unclip.
It just got real very quickly.
I don't like heights,
but this helicopter's not
landing with me onboard.
Yeah, boy!
Yeah! That's it, Anurag! That's it!
We're not the strongest swimmers.
My body is sort of
saying, "I've had enough."
I tried to for 10m, 20m,
and it just felt like forever.
I'm like, "I can't swim. I can't swim."
"Why not just walk?"
Your determination's amazing.
- Well done, bro.
- Cheers, bro.
Well done, bro.
- How you going?
- Good. How are you?
You got this, babe!
Oh, my God, that looks so cool!
"Route Info," buddy.
OK, "Find Merritts Gondola and make
your way to the top of Friday Flat."
OK, let's go.
Climbing out of a
helicopter was so badass.
That's something that
people in the military do,
and then I just got
to do it today for fun.
Yes, girl! Come on!
Whoo!
Swim, swim! Come on! 250K!
I'm all about girl power.
We can do challenges
like this really fast.
Swim, swim! You've got this.
Come on! We've got to beat those boys.
That was so awesome!
"Once you've collected all of the flags,
"you will receive your
next clue." Let's go.
That's why I was saying
to read that map properly.
But that building was here?
Finding the gondola was
an absolute nightmare.
The Sikhs and the girls
are right behind us,
and they probably knew
where they were going.
So we have to go all the way over here.
So we were still in the
front, but not by much.
Is it somewhere around here?
Taking the scenic route,
there is a little bit of a worry
that someone could have overtaken us.
Competition is tightening up.
Is it there?
Let's go, because on the
gondola, we'll have a break, yeah?
OK.
It might be a path through this
bush. You've got to keep going.
- And then turn right.
- And then turn left.
Don't turn left, turn right.
We were questioning our navigation.
There was a chance
that we might be lost.
Sure this is the way?
- Come this way.
- What's that one?
- Is it this far up?
- Come on.
Ash, 250K.
Hey, mate, where do we
get the Merritts Gondola?
Well, do you reckon we've
got to go back that way then?
No, I know it was the
gondola I saw on the map.
That looks like it, there. Hey, look.
That's be it there.
Yeah, I can see it.
- That's it.
- Here.
The Cowboys aren't there yet.
They're not there yet.
We've got a chance, Ash.
Keep it up. We've got a chance.
Come through.
Thank you!
- Never been on a gondola before.
- Didn't even know what a gondola was.
No, me either. We got in this
spaceship thing on a cable.
The Cowboys were only getting
into the gondola just in front of us.
This one, this one.
You did so well, I'm so proud of you.
I can't believe the Cowboys
are only We've got a chance.
I think it's the other way.
No, I saw a slide coming down.
- On that side of the water?
- Yeah. It's up there.
I think it's up there, mate.
- Slip-and-slide's just there.
- Is it?
Yeah, we'll have to get up here, then.
Yeah.
The Cowboys are
in the gondola in front of us.
We have a chance, we
have a chance to win this.
- We're so close.
- We've just got to communicate.
We've got this. We can do this.
The girls are right behind us.
Them girls are quick.
They've won more legs
on this race than anybody.
They are a threat. They
deserve to be in the top three.
So to see them right behind us
was just a push we
needed just to keep going.
Go.
This is our chance to
snatch back first place.
Let's go.
Come on. The other
teams are up our arse.
Then it just hit me, just felt so sick.
I think it was all that lake
water in that first challenge.
So I was feeling pretty crook.
- Hang on, Brendan.
- Brendan!
Bren!
I heard Jacko yodelling out,
and I just had tunnel vision,
I just wanted to get to the
challenge and get it done.
- What?
- I'm right.
- What do you mean?
- I had to throw up.
Where's the bag drop?
You right?
Amanda and Ashleigh overtook you
while you were sitting there, heaving.
There's no time! Come on!
Yeah, this ain't good.
Alright. What do you want to get?
Lost the lead for sure, here.
Amanda and Ashleigh overtook you
while you were sitting there heaving.
We lost the lead for sure, here.
- Just leave a second between us.
- Alright.
We need to keep pushing.
All we want is to win the
race and win that 250K.
We had to slide down the hill
and grab a bunch of
flags in different colours
to get our next clue.
I got red!
We got one flag
and then we both basically
came to a complete stop.
When you stop, you have
to go back to the beginning.
Start again.
- I just threw up four times.
- Right.
So what do we got? We got red, blue?
- Are you good? You hold it?
- Yeah.
Once I got it out and I knew I felt
better, I thought, "Bring it on."
I just had one thing in my mind.
It was just 250,000.
Let's just go and do it.
And Amanda and Ashleigh,
they went down really slow.
I keep stopping in the same spot.
I really struggled
with this slip-and-slide.
I was totally losing momentum.
I keep stopping right here.
I don't know what I'm doing wrong.
I'll go the first row.
You go second. Third.
Righto.
Here we go.
Quick,
Go, go, go!
Damn it! I got blue!
First one I sent down,
I missed the first flag but I grabbed
about three on the way down.
Purple! And yellow!
Brendan come down, and we sort of
had a plan which ones we'd grab.
- What have you got? Yellow
- I got purple, yellow
And we knew the job wasn't done.
So, as always, just keep pushing.
How do we get there?
Tried looking for the gondola.
It's definitely not there.
I can see gondolas there.
We were lost.
Keep going, Jas.
We had two options -
we could waste more time
trying to find this chairlift
or we could just use
our legs and get there.
Let's just walk up.
OK, go, Amanda. To get blue.
We just kept running up
and down again and trying.
Come on, we've got to beat those boys!
Ready? All we need's a red one.
I saw Brendan
run up and jump on it.
- Got it!
- Yeah!
In a matter of two
seconds, he had that red flag
and I thought, "Righto. We're done."
Two attempts and we've got them all.
- Thanks.
- Thanks, mate.
Appreciate it. Let's go.
- Are you right?
- Yeah, mate.
"Ride the Kosciuszko Express
Chairlift high into the mountains."
Teams must now make
their way on a chairlift
further up the mountain to reach
the dizzying heights of Eagles Nest,
where our exhausted teams must
face their biggest mental battle yet.
With a little help from their friends.
And how good?
The eliminated teams
are back to lend a hand.
For their final challenge,
our three teams must first match
eight unusual laws
with the state or
territory they're from.
We're calling them Outlawed.
When they take the right law
to the right state or territory,
they'll be given a bag of puzzle pieces
by the eliminated teams.
Once they have all eight
bags of puzzle pieces,
they will reveal the puzzle of a map
of the Indigenous mobs in Australia.
When the puzzle is complete,
they'll receive their final clue.
Thanks, mate. Go, go, go.
We knew that we were in first place.
We knew we had to keep that lead.
We're not going to let each other down.
I wasn't going to let our family
down, let country Australia down.
You know, we're here to win.
me, that's cold.
Yellow and green, Ash! Come on.
The Cowboys finished the
challenge, so we have to catch them.
I got green! Get yellow!
Don't stop!
Yes, girl! Yellow.
We passed the slip-and-slide challenge.
We were just behind the Cowboys.
"Ride the Kosciuszko Express
Chairlift high into the mountains."
Oh, let's go. Keep going.
Girls are done.
I don't care right now.
We need to get this done.
We got to the top.
We saw Amanda and Ashleigh just
finish the challenge and move on.
It didn't matter. We
just got stuck into it.
Keep going! Blue! Well done!
Pink.
One more!
And here I was.
I couldn't slide down. I don't
know what was happening.
I'll tell you what was
happening - you were too fat.
Do you want to give me a push?
- Good?
- Yep.
Pit stop's not far away.
Let's just get in here and get it done.
It was a surreal feeling when
we were running up there.
There was people yelling out.
I'm thinking, "Who are these people?"
We get closer and closer
Seen Jake and Skye,
and then I looked up.
It was like, "Hey,
hello. Now it's a party."
Everyone's back!
That's everyone!
How cool's that?
The whole crew was there.
Just to see everybody just sort of lifted
the spirits a bit more. That was great.
Our actual challenge,
there were some scrolls
that had some laws on it
and we had to match it up.
Play musical instruments
to annoy people.
- Go Tassie.
- Tassie?
To play musical
instruments so as to annoy
Just run it out.
It wasn't the easiest
challenge, that's for sure.
ACT.
We knew it was going
to be mentally tough.
Section 70C - to correspond,
or do business with pirates.
Keep trying. Try 'em all.
Come on, Ash.
As we're running, we see all the
previous contestants cheering us on.
- Great work, girls.
- Thanks, guys.
OK, let's just try.
Do you have an idea of any of them?
Nope. Trial and error, Ash.
We are just trying to get
this done as fast as possible
and just try and guess which
laws match with which states,
because I've never
heard of these laws before.
Is this New South Wales?
Splash mud on anyone
waiting for a public bus?
- Yes.
- Yes! Thank you.
How are you? That's Queensland.
To crack the whip so as to
annoy a person whilst on a road.
- Yes?
- Is that the right one?
Go, go, go.
Keep going!
Well done!
- Still no giving up.
- The race is still on.
Thank you.
"Ride the Kosciuszko Express
Chairlift high in the mountains."
Let's go.
To splash mud on anyone
waiting for a public bus.
Try New South Wales. Yeah.
New South Wales dropped.
To splash mud on anyone
wanting for a public bus.
Yes! Good job, boys.
It was one of them challenges.
We just had our head screwed on,
but we've really worked hard
to get where we were today.
So no stopping now.
Alright, Victoria. To correspond
or do business with pirates.
- Yes?
- Thank you.
We were on such a roll at the start,
so we didn't even have
to do much trial and error.
- We already tried
- So, SA.
I see a flag!
To see them at the end,
cheering us on, it was amazing.
It gave us
the boost that we needed.
Go to Queensland.
Anurag and I are pretty quick
at these. We enjoy puzzles.
To crack a whip so as to
annoy a person whilst on a road.
Yes!
Good job, boys.
- Quick, quick.
- WA?
We are literally
thinking we can win this.
We can win the whole Amazing Race.
..more than 50 kilos of potatoes.
Thank you so much!
We were pretty
worried, actually. Real worried.
Whoever's gonna leave first,
is going to get across
the finish line and win.
- Western Australia?
- Yeah.
This race has just thrown
so many things at us
that we're prepared for anything.
But when you've got
two other teams like that,
the better they are makes you better.
- WA? Where's that?
- Dwes and Katherine.
Of course it is. Running
around in circles.
We knew we could feed off
each other and their energy
to push us through to the finish line.
To be in possession of more
than 50 kilos of potatoes?
- Yes.
- Thanks, guys.
OK, Queensland - to crack a whip
to annoy a person whilst on the road?
- Yes. OK, great.
- Thank you.
These are the top three teams
out of all of the competitors.
And this is anyone's game.
You need development approval for a
fence between privately owned property.
Things are so, so tight now
and we just have to
keep powering through
and push it to win this race.
New South Wales - to splash
mud on anyone waiting for a public bus.
Yes!
The Cowboys, Amanda
and Ashleigh, and us,
throughout every single leg,
we've all pushed each other.
Northern Territory - to play a
musical instrument so as to annoy.
- Yes!
- Thanks, guys.
Last one.
Yep, we're running out
of time. Let's get one. Go!
As we give it all and race hard,
whoever is best takes it all.
That one's definitely Tassie.
To become an owner of a
British ship if you're an alien.
Really? Beautiful. Thanks, guys.
Let's go! Build it up! Come on, Brendan!
Don't get too excited. We
have to build this thing yet.
Now we have to build
the puzzle of Australia.
- Fiddle around with it.
- Yeah, they go
Try the edges first.
- I haven't done nothing like this.
- No, that was a difficult puzzle.
- Do you want to get them all out?
- Yes.
Play musical instruments
to annoy someone.
NT?
To play musical instruments
as to annoy someone.
Thank you so much!
ACT. To build a front
fence for your property.
That's there. Yes, I
like the puzzle, yes?
- Yes, this is nice.
- I've got it.
ACT - to build a front fence
Thank you so much.
WA - to possess more
than 50 kilos of potatoes.
Thank you.
Looks like Africa. You good?
As long as I get this shape.
- I'll start WA. What have you got?
- Queensland.
I don't know if those
ones are Queensland.
So let's start with the
states we know for sure.
To become an owner of a
British ship if you are an alien.
Yes.
Thank you.
- Let's go, come on.
- That's it, yeah?
- Big yellow.
- Down here.
Got a big yellow here.
This is going to be
a fight to the finish.
This one has lots of colours on it.
- So that goes on top there.
- This one here
Purple, green.
Blue and brown.
No. There we go. Got
another one of that.
- Find the bottom piece in there.
- Good call.
It's going to come
down to who wants it more.
If I have a daughter,
I'd like her to know that
Mum can beat anyone.
The red thing that goes this way.
I found this one.
We nearly got it.
I was so happy
at this puzzle challenge.
And I was really thinking
that we can win this.
We know NT's at the top.
Done. Can we get a check, please?
Already.
- So far, so good. Good to go.
- Beautiful.
- Sweet.
- Thanks, mate.
Champion. Thanks, mate.
Yeah, we can do this.
- Can we get a check, please?
- Check, please, check, please!
Yeah? Cheers. Thanks, mate.
"Route Info.
"Make your way up Mt Kosciuszko,
Australia's highest mountain.
"Spot the flags and find
the final pit stop on foot.
"Hurry! The first team to arrive
"will take home a quarter
of a million dollars!"
It's the final push.
Teams must battle the altitude,
taking on a gruelling mountain climb.
Mt Kosciusko stands
2,228m above sea level,
and it is the highest peak in Australia.
And it's the breathtaking final pit stop
where one team will be crowned winners
and take home the cash prize
of a quarter of a million dollars.
This is the finale of The
Amazing Race Australia.
May the best team win.
Let's go, brah.
"Route Info.
"Make your way up Mt Kosciuszko,
Australia's highest mountain.
"Spot the flags, final pit stop.
"Hurry! The first team to arrive
"will take home a quarter of
a million dollars!" Let's go.
Big push. We got this.
We're seconds
behind the Cowboys.
We just want to really take
them so that we can win this.
The Cowboys and
Amanda and Ashleigh were gone.
But hearing everyone cheer us on told
us it's not over until you hit the mat.
And we knew we could do it.
- Check, please!
- Check, please!
We're ready, we're ready.
- Congratulations, gentlemen.
- Thanks, mate.
We knew if we get out of
here and make up some time,
anything's possible.
"The first team to arrive will take
a quarter of a million dollars."
Let's go.
Come on, Jacko!
- I need to walk for a little bit.
- No.
- I need to.
- We need to get a lead.
OK, we can beat these
guys. Quick, quick.
Flags here, look.
Come on, let's go!
They're catching us. Come on.
Yeah, I see the Cowboys.
- Come on.
- Hang on, bro.
Jacko, hurry up.
Keep going.
Come on, dig deep.
They're right there.
Come on. Get up here.
- Holy shit.
- Come on, Jas.
- Just let me get Hang on.
- Come on!
Jacko was struggling.
I turned around and he was walking
and he was like, "I need a break."
- Hang on.
- There's no time. Come on.
I was that sore. I was tired.
I just could not get any air.
Just felt really uneasy.
What's wrong? Come on, mate.
Jacko, come on top with me, bro!
When I turned around to check on him,
I seen Ashleigh and
Amanda were closing the gap.
You can do it.
Push through the pain.
We're not weak.
I was absolutely not going
to give up at any cost.
That's why I took Ash's bag.
And I was like, "I don't
care how much pain I'm in.
"We're going to get there
and we're going to win this."
This is our chance
to snatch back the first place.
- Keep it going.
- Almost there.
Push yourself!
Amanda and
Ash, they were right on our tail,
so in the foot race, they got us done.
Come on. We've got this.
- Don't stop!
- Brendan
Don't stop!
It's the final ride! Final ride.
We can do it.
- We got this! This is us.
- This is us.
Follow that, let's go.
We've come all this way. We've
travelled all around Australia.
Had some amazing experiences.
We've overcome so many obstacles.
Awesome! Whoo!
This is another one to overcome.
We came out here to show
the world who Sikhs are
and what they stand for.
We haven't come all this way to give up.
Come on, Jacko.
You CAN do it!
You know you can!
Do it with me, bro.
Without Brendan, I
wouldn't have got up that hill.
You're doing good,
bro. I know it's tough.
He kept pushing it. That's
why we work good as a team.
Gotta Cowboy-up and get it done.
Proud to be known as the Cowboys
in this race, that's for sure.
Like a rodeo, you do not quit!
Oh, I love him!
Been a great time.
But the race ain't done yet.
Whoo-hoo!
Come on, Jacko. Push yourself!
Come on. Don't stop. We've got this.
You're the strongest girl I know.
We won eight legs.
And I don't think any female team in
Amazing Race history has achieved that.
We've done this for
the girls of Australia.
We think girls can do anything
just as good, if not
better than the boys.
And I couldn't have
asked for a better partner.
Let's get a bit more of a lead. Come on.
We're all buggered. We're tired.
And to know that it was
going to be a footrace
with Ashleigh and Amanda
right up our clacker,
this is tough.
We were powering through
and we're on the Cowboys
heels and we're within seconds.
Come on, Ashleigh, come on.
Don't give up, don't give up.
We can win this,
we can be the only all-girl team
to win the whole Amazing Race,
and that's giving me more
and more determination
to keep pushing through.
We can do this.
Things are so, so tight now.
And we just have to
keep powering through
and push it to win this race.
Come on!
Let's go, mate. Come on, Jas.
Keep going.
The race isn't over until
you're on the pit mat.
Don't give up. Let's go, pit stop, baby.
Come on, bro. Nearly there.
They're right there!
Amanda and Ash, they're so tough.
They're so much faster
and stronger than us.
- Come on.
- Let me get my breath. Hang on.
Jog now.
Come on. Don't let us
down. Come on, Jacko.
Who are we doing it for?
The words that resonate in my head
was Brendan turning around and saying,
"Who are we doing it for?"
All I kept thinking
was my family, my kids,
and I thought, "We've just got to go."
Who are we doing it for?
Come on, brother.
It's going to hurt, but it's going to
stop as soon as we hit that pit stop,
'cause everything's
going to change in our life.
Come on! I will push you the whole way.
Dig deep!
Come on, Ashleigh.
Come on, don't give up.
We're so close.
Let's go, Super Sikhs, let's go!
It's only gonna hurt
until we get to the top.
It's not over! It's not over!
OK.
Come on, come on. They're hurting too.
Come on, brother.
Come on, push.
We're so close!
Come on.
Good job!
Brendon and Jackson,
you are the first team to
check in to the final pit stop.
You've won The Amazing Race Australia!
Yes!
Boys, you've won a quarter
of a million dollars, cash!
Oh Come on, bro.
- Oh, my God.
- Good job.
Doesn't get much better than this.
Whoo!
Yes!
To win something like
this is just incredible.
How is this going to change your life?
Oh, mate
Words can't describe
what we're feeling right now.
We said it from the get-go.
We're doing it for our families.
We're doing it for us.
We're doing it for farmers.
They've had a real
tough trot at the moment,
with the drought and then bushfires.
If we can give something
small back to them
for something that we've just
had an experience of a lifetime,
that's just going to make our day.
How proud are you right now?
Mate, I'm Oh, I'm
- I can't believe it.
- Come here, brah.
Worth it, man.
Our little boys can look back on this.
That's why we're here.
It's just one of the best feelings ever.
I'm proud of you. You've done well.
I'm just so proud of Brendan.
He knew I was struggling.
And all he kept saying was,
"Do not quit, do not quit."
And I'm so glad we didn't.
Boys, you didn't quit.
You've been to hell and back.
And you've won the money.
Go and buy as many farms as you
want. Finally get that tooth you need.
- You said you were paying for that.
- I'll be paying for it.
But, boys, you deserve it.
Welcome to Kosciuszko.
- I love ya. And well done.
- Thanks, brother.
Come on, Ash!
Well done.
Ashleigh and Amanda,
you are the second team to
check in to the final pit stop.
You are the runners up in
The Amazing Race Australia.
- You guys run a solid race.
- Well done.
That was hard.
We were so close.
But I'm super proud
of us for getting this far.
I'm so proud of all the
effort that we've put in
and how many challenges we smashed out
that many people
wouldn't think we could do.
Congratulations, girls.
You've been outstanding.
Hold your heads high.
I know we made it so far
as an all-female team,
but it just would have been
one more for the girls.
Good stuff, guys, good stuff.
Jaskirat and Anurag,
you are the third and final team
to check in to the final pit stop.
Congratulations, boys.
This bloke here defined
determination and courage.
We never gave up.
That's down to you, bro.
We came here, we said it -
we're not going to give up,
we're not quitters.
We got defeated by two
very strong teams today.
We all played it fair,
the best team won,
and that's all that matters.
You should be proud of each other.
And you've made it to the end.
- It means a lot to us.
- That's all we came here for.
To show everyone who Sikhs are,
to represent Sikhs, and
show Sikhs never give up.
That was our biggest motivation today.
We have ticked that box, I think.
Couldn't be more proud of ourselves.
Boys, bring it in.
Good job, guys. Well done.
I don't think it's sunk
in yet that we won
Ready?
- Can't wait to go and have a beer!
- You deserve it, I can tell you that much.
Whoo!
