The Bachelor s15e01 Episode Script

Week 1

1 Hi.
I'm chris harrison, and welcome to what is Already one of the most shocking seasons in "bachelor" history.
Three years ago, brad womack walked into this very mansion To start a journey that was supposed to end With him engaged and in love.
Instead, it turned out to be One of the most controversial "bachelor" finales ever.
Tv viewers across america were stunned, Some even infuriated, When brad rejected jenni croft I want something more That I can't-- I can't find with us.
And then did the same to deanna pappas.
I can't look you in your eye And tell you that I love you.
Jenni and deanna left in tears (sniffles) But quickly moved on with their lives.
But for brad, nothing would ever be the same.
(brad) right when I closed the limousine door And sent deanna home, Everything came crashing down like a ton of bricks, And I'm all alone.
That's not how this is supposed to end.
And I'm thinking, what the hell have I done? And that moment would change brad's life forever.
(brad) when I got back to austin, I was alone.
How could I not find somebody When I was given the chance of a lifetime? I have to tell you good-bye.
I watched the finale, and I felt like a jerk.
And as much as I'm trying to fight it, I know the only person I have to blame is myself.
I don't understand.
I let it all go.
I was scared to commit.
And then I'm starting to think, what's wrong with me? Not what's wrong with the girls? What's wrong with me? I started developing panic attacks.
I'd lock my door, sit at home, And I just shut down.
In every single blog, I was called "self-righteous," "selfish," "immature," "commitment-phobe.
" (thunder rumbles) It solidified all of those doubts, And I hit rock bottom.
And I was broken Badly.
I was a broken man.
I didn't want to admit that, That I just needed help.
I just didn't want to admit that.
After four to five months of not being able to work-- Forget about trying to meet a woman-- I said enough is enough.
I needed to make a change right then and there.
I wanted to figure out what the hell went on During "the bachelor," and how can I change, Because I damn sure am not gonna wind up alone.
I found an incredible therapist And really analyzed the reasons Behind my phobia of commitment.
Definitely have trust issues.
We talked about how my father wasn't around much at all.
My father let me down more times than I can count.
And, hell, yes, it makes me closed off, Because that hurts.
I don't know if I've ever let someone know the real me, Because when I give my all to somebody and I'm let down, I revert back to that feeling Of when my father told me He was coming to pick my brother and I up for a day out, And I didn't hear from him for five years.
I have realized that the majority of my life, I've been a very, very closed-off individual, Only because I want to push people away Before they can hurt me, and it's such a sad way to live.
Well, all that tough guy stuff is just a façade.
It took a lot of therapy and it took a lot of time, But I've learned that the only way I'm truly going to fall in love Is to be vulnerable, to open up my heart.
I don't wanna have any regrets.
I wanna move forward.
I want to prove to everybody-- more importantly, I want to prove to myself that I've changed.
I'm a better person.
(laughs) hey, come here.
Aah! (woman) look who it is! (laughs) hey! Since I was the bachelor, Both my brothers have started families.
What's happening, guys? They have amazing wives.
They have amazing children.
They have something to come home to that matters, And I want that for myself.
What are you drawing? (wes) brad has done a lot of soul-searching Since the last season that he was on.
You know, when you have the entire nation Asking "what's wrong with this guy?" You can't help but sit down And look at yourself in the mirror, And I think you'll definitely see a different brad.
Will you give me a kiss? Aw! Thank you.
(woman laughs) thank you.
I see a change in brad.
I can tell that he's ready to settle down And have the same things that his brothers do.
That commitment just wasn't there before.
I see it there now.
Quite honestly, the whole family's really excited for him.
(laughs) you having fun? Yeah.
When I first met brad, he was in a lot of distress.
Say, "whee!" Brad is a different person now than when I first saw him.
Brad is more capable of being honest and vulnerable In relationships than he's ever been before.
When I think about whether or not brad possesses The ability to commit to a relationship and marriage, I think he now has the tools And the ability to do that.
(brad) I'm so excited to be back in l.
A.
I can't believe that I get to be the bachelor again.
So happy to be given this chance.
I've done a lot of soul-searching, And I know in my heart, I'm very ready to fall in love, And I actually have this opportunity.
I'm the luckiest guy in the world.
I'm open to finding that woman That I want to take that leap of faith with.
When I find the right woman and she wants the real me, Well, here I am, right now.
And I know what I'm getting into.
It's going to be tough.
I don't look at this as my chance To prove to america that I'm different.
I look at this chance to prove to myself That I am capable of falling in love.
I want something very real, and I want to let a woman in.
And I'm ready, more now than ever, To fall in love and to find my wife.
And tonight (woman) oh, my gosh.
(exhales deeply) (woman) it's brad womack.
Brad womack.
Really? (laughs) I have something for you.
Okay! That's from every woman in america.
(exhales deeply) Brad meets 30 women who want answers.
You're in this for the real thing this time, right? I question kind of-- what's changed? I know he didn't pick anyone, but why didn't he pick anyone? You don't wanna fall head over heels for this guy, And then he just leaves you there.
I'm not in the mood for another heartbreak.
What happened and when did you know? Is he scared of commitment? What if he doesn't find the right girl again? I need to know that you're gonna be able to make a decision.
It didn't work the first time.
Why is it gonna work the second? But first, it's the shocking reunion no one saw coming.
Jenny and deanna are here tonight.
No kidding.
I'm really nervous.
I'm in for an interesting night.
It's going to be tough, but let's face it.
I will admit something.
I've spent three years in therapy, Self-analyzing, thinking, changing, improving.
Now I'm ready to fall in love.
No doubt about it.
My biggest fear is that these women Are just simply not going to believe that I'm a new man.
I know a lot of you are skeptical about brad.
Can three years of soul-searching and therapy Really make a difference? Is this new and hopefully improved brad Really ready to find love? Well, we're about to find out.
But before we welcome brad back, Let's take a look at some of the amazing women Who have traveled from all across america To give brad the second chance he so desires.
Hey, mr.
Franklin.
How's it goin'? So, you single? My name is ashley.
I live in philadelphia, pennsylvania, And I'm a dentist.
Good morning.
I'm just gonna take a quick look around, okay? (whirring) open nice and big.
To me, dentistry is an art form.
I'm an artist, And the mouth is my canvas.
So do you have any love in your life? (mouth full) mm-hmm.
Yeah? Good.
I'm super focused when I'm, you know, working with patients, But I also like to have fun.
I enjoy shaking my groove thing so much.
Dance has been a huge part of my life, and I just enjoy doing it.
If the bachelor ends up with me, I guarantee fun, romance, and healthy gums.
(woman) my name is shawntel, and I'm from chico, california.
In my profession, I meet a lot of guys.
Unfortunately, they're not alive.
I am a funeral director and licensed embalmer.
(hisses and clicks) We have a mausoleum at our funeral home.
I think one day when I die, That I'll be placed in the mausoleum.
My parents are gonna be in the mausoleum, And if all the stars are aligned, I think the bachelor has a good chance of being buried in chico.
I'm ashley.
I'm a sweet southern girl living in new york, And I'm ready for love.
(thunder rumbles) I feel like I'm kinda at a crossroads in my life.
About two years ago, I lost my dad.
He had a brain hemorrhage at the age of 46 And fell into a coma and never woke up.
(voice breaking) I didn't get to Tell him I loved him.
I didn't get to Tell him how great of a dad I thought he was Or anything before he passed away.
One thing that has come out of that Is now when I do love anybody, I make sure that I tell them all the time.
I just appreciate love so much more.
When I meet the person that I'm supposed to marry, I think I'll know that my dad wants me to marry that person.
I'm so excited to go on this journey.
I'm positive that it's gonna change my life forever.
I mean, this vehicle has ten airbags on the inside.
I'm employed by my father.
He has quite a large company.
He owns several large dealerships, And I'm his right-hand gal.
At work, I'm the girl you can count on to get the job done.
Have you looked over this budget yet? Not yet.
That's fine.
Stamp that.
Okay.
I mean, I have the job, I have the house, And I have a great family, but when I come home from work Every day, it's my dog and two cats.
Well, hello.
I got divorced about a year ago, And I had been with him for about ten years, And we were married for five of those years.
I haven't even been single that long, and I don't like it.
I'm not good at the dating thing.
It's awkward.
It's just--there's so many games that everybody plays.
I'm feeling like, am I ever gonna meet that person again? It's very scary.
I need to find a husband.
(laughs) Can you help me? No.
I know.
No one can.
I am so ready to get married.
Dating as a single mom is really hard, And I'm doing this for both of us.
I think women can be intimidated by me, But I'm not here to make a bunch of best friends.
I'm here to meet the love of my life.
He better watch out, 'cause he doesn't know it yet, But I'm actually his wife.
Ready? Aah! Ohh! Oh! Son of a (bleep)! (laughs) I'm raichel, and I'm a manscaper.
Manscaping--it's a term for men's waxing.
(bleep) we get the good old chest and back, The abs, arms, legs Son of a (bleep).
And never forget the brazilian.
Aah! The best-case scenario is love at first sight, And the bachelor whispers in my ear and says, "these girls got nothing on you.
" ohh! (woman) ooh, I love this one.
I'm meghan.
I work in fashion.
So cute.
Finding a boyfriend is kind of like shopping For a great pair of shoes.
Love.
It's really difficult.
You gotta go through a lot of really ugly, Cheap, cheesy ones to find a really great one.
So, yeah, I'm excited to meet the bachelor, Though I have no idea who it is.
(sighs) okay, I'm gonna take them all.
I'd say meeting the man of my dreams would be, um, Yeah, it would be the perfect accessory, for sure.
(camera shutter clicking) The two words that really describe me-- Mysterious and adventurous.
(hisses) ever since I was a little girl, I sort of had A little vampire thing.
And lo and behold, I ran into the leader Of the underground vampire world.
It'd be so much easier if I had a reflection.
(growls) I have a pair of fangs that come out late at night.
My hope would be that the bachelor is Sort of a sexy, dark kinda guy.
He better watch out.
(laughs) My name is emily, And I'm from charlotte, north carolina.
I am an event planner at a children's hospital.
I feel like I have had a very extraordinary love story That not a lot of people can say that they've had.
I met ricky when I was about 15 years old.
I really think I fell in love that night because he gave me Those butterflies you get in your stomach, And we got engaged when I was 19.
We both just knew that we were supposed to be together.
Ricky was a racecar driver, And it was a huge passion of his.
Ricky traveled every weekend.
In October of 2004, There was a-a race, and I wasn't feeling well, So he said, you know, "just stay home," And that morning we got a phone call.
(siren wailing) I found out that the plane had crashed (police radio chatter) And, uh All ten people on--on the plane had not-- Nobody had made it, so (bell tolling) I absolutely wished more than anything That I was on the plane, too.
I didn't wanna live my life without him.
I didn't.
It was the worst time in my whole life.
That Friday afterwards, I learned that I was pregnant With our daughter, and I could not have been happier.
Ricki, come here.
Let's play a game.
You want to? I knew that there was a reason That I wasn't on the plane that day.
Right then I knew I-I wasn't supposed to be Oh, where'd that funnel go? Because we have this perfect daughter That makes me the happiest person in the world.
This one's mommy's.
These are mine.
I am so ready to meet the bachelor.
Um, I'm nervous as all get out, But I feel like I'm just on the verge Of the next part of my life.
I really am just ready to move on and find love again.
Coming up Oh, my god.
Brad womack.
I have something for you.
Okay! You know, I'd be crazy not to have some serious questions.
It didn't work the first time.
Why is it gonna work the second? If he doesn't get a wife this time, He's gonna have to go in a cave.
(brad) I am terrified that these women Are not going to buy the fact that I've changed.
You guys make me nervous.
But first Believe it or not, Jenni and deanna are here tonight.
Are they really? Brad's past comes back to haunt him.
Jenni, deanna, come on out.
You've gotta be kidding me.
I'm about to meet the bachelor, And I'm so excited! (laughs) (chanting) ohm.
I will fall in love tonight.
Gotta make my lips kissable.
You just never know.
I can't believe the day is finally here.
I don't know who my competition is, but, girls, it's game time.
(woman) let's go meet our future husband.
(woman, singsongy) game on! My advice to the other girls-- don't mess with me.
Here's to meeting the mystery bachelor And having a night full of fun.
(clink) (woman) yes! Whoo! Whoo! (woman) yeah! 30 beautiful bachelorettes have traveled from all over america To meet our bachelor here tonight.
But these women have no idea that our bachelor is brad, And I'm guessing they might be just a little shocked When they find out.
Brad is definitely going to have to answer Some tough questions here tonight.
The women are on their way here right now, But before they arrive, Let's welcome back our bachelor, brad womack.
(exhales deeply) (whispers) thanks.
(clears throat) (exhales deeply) Brad.
Chris harrison.
It's good to see you again, man.
Good to see you.
Thanks for having me.
Hard to believe it's been three years since you've been here.
I know.
Pulling up in the driveway brought back some memories, But I've gotta admit, I'm a little nervous.
Well, considering how the last one ended, If this doesn't go well, you might just Have to leave the country.
(laughs) I, uh, yeah.
I think this one's gonna go much better, though.
Well, I want to catch up With everything that's happened in your life since that day.
Let's go inside and have a chat, all right? Come on.
Sounds good.
Have a seat.
Thanks.
Welcome back to the mansion.
Thank you.
Never in a million years Did I think I would be sitting here again.
I feel like the luckiest guy on the planet.
But to step back into this environment again, To put yourself through this, I mean, you must believe in this.
I do, chris, uh, you know, something? One, I wouldn't have done it the first time If I didn't believe it.
I damn sure wouldn't be here A second go-around, especially after everything I went through.
I think that then--and it took a long time to realize this-- I wasn't capable of falling in love.
I didn't even realize those walls were up, you know? But at the end of the day, I'm sitting here with you now, A much better man.
What's changed? How are you a better man? Is there anything specific that it-- Was there that lightbulb moment? I'll be very honest.
The most empty feeling in the world Was standing there, all alone, Knowing that I had just Let go of two amazing women.
Mm-hmm.
And after that, It took an extreme amount of self-analysis, Thinking maybe I'm not the man I thought I was.
Right.
You know, I'm not embarrassed to admit it.
It took some pretty intensive therapy.
It really did.
Yeah.
After the show, you went to therapy? Years.
Years of it.
And I've learned I did have commitment issues.
I had major trust issues, you know, and, um, It's--it's one of those things-- My dad who is, you know-- Supposedly the most important person in your life, Especially when you're growing up--was never around.
I mean, came and went as he pleased.
I'm talking years in length.
At 12 years old, he says, you know, "move in with me.
" We spend six weeks with him, and then we get kicked out, You know, I don't hear from him till I'm 16.
It's just one of those things, that he kept coming and going.
After a while, that hurt like hell.
It really did.
And so it got to the point that, okay, So I see a woman, and I really care for her, But maybe if I don't really allow her To get to know me or love me Right.
It can't hurt, you know, So there's just this proverbial wall.
No, it makes sense.
I mean, you let people in to a certain degree, And then before you can get hurt, you hurt them.
Absolutely.
It's easier.
I tried to put on this tough façade And--and this unemotional, you know, real tough guy.
I'm anything but that.
Obviously, you learned a great life lesson.
You have been through a lot.
You seem to be a changed man.
So what do you say To the two women that were affected the most? And I'm talking about jenni and deanna.
One, I get it.
I understand, um, the anger and the hurt, the frustration.
I understand all of that.
Another thing I would say is a very heartfelt "I'm sorry.
" You know, I'm not perfect, Everyone makes mistakes, And I hate--I hate that it was at their expense.
So you think now, the man you are, Uh, sitting here before me, is ready to apologize? Absolutely.
So believe it or not, Jenni and deanna are here tonight.
Are they really? Yeah.
No kidding.
Jenni, deanna, you guys come on out.
You've gotta be kidding me.
Now I feel like even more of an idiot.
So you think now, this guy, Uh, sitting here before me, is ready to apologize To the two women that were affected the most? And I'm talking about jenni and deanna.
Absolutely.
So believe it or not, Jenni and deanna are here tonight.
Are they really? Yeah.
Jenni, deanna, come on out.
You've gotta be kidding me.
Now I feel like even more of an idiot.
(sighs deeply) It's déjà vu.
You look beautiful, my god.
Hi! (laughs) Oh, thank you.
How are you? I'm good.
So good to see you.
(chuckles) Hello.
Please, please, have a seat.
(brad exhales deeply) You guys look beautiful.
(deanna and jenni laugh) my god.
Fancy seeing you here again.
Uh, yeah.
No kidding, huh? Mm.
I'm sure you have some opinions on that.
How are you two, by the way? (chuckles) yeah, please, yeah.
It's good--yeah, first of all, it's good to see you all again.
Never thought we'd all be sitting here again.
Me either.
I haven't seen brad since "after the final rose.
" you haven't talked or anything? Not at all.
No.
Have you wanted to? (laughs) no.
No? Ooh.
Was that out--out of anger or were you just like I was like, I gotta move on, because if I keep dwelling on it, It's just, you know, that's not gonna do me any good.
Okay, can I please First start out by saying I'm--I'm just sorry? I'm shaking, and I don't-- I don't get this way at all, By seeing you, it means the world that you made-- Both made the attempt to even come out here.
'cause I know--trust me, I know you guys have moved on-- But, uh, as a man, it's really tough to admit That I wasn't capable Of being who you guys needed.
I failed miserably, you know, And I'm so profoundly sorry.
So, jenni, when you walked away that day, What--what were you thinking? What were you feeling? I was very embarrassed.
You know, I felt like I went into the whole thing With an open heart, And I think I-I was just confused about why would-- Why would he even do that? Why would he not give-- Give at least deanna a chance? What do you think, deanna? What was the worst part? I don't wear my heart on my sleeve, And it is very hard for someone to get to the real part of me.
And I feel like I did a really great job of opening up to you And really putting a lot of trust in you.
And so for me, the--the final day was brutal, Because the one person that I trusted most let me down, And that was really, really hard for me.
And, um, being on "the bachelor" with you Was something that was a huge learning experience for me, And--and I just never thought it would be something That you would ever do again.
Yeah.
I knew, well, both of you would be shocked That I was doing it again.
Um, it's not closure.
It's almost a new beginning for me.
I-I mean, I'm sure you guys are indifferent.
(laughs) you know, I get it, but I would not be here If I didn't think I was a changed man.
I just wouldn't.
(chris) are you buying this? Are you--are you believing in this changed man? I think it's safe to say that it's a concern of mine, That the same mistake won't happen, That two girls won't be left in the end with broken hearts.
Yeah.
And I feel like once they figure out that you're their bachelor, I think their guards are gonna go right up, Because if I knew that I was getting ready to go out With someone who had hurt someone in the past, Uh, my guard would be up 100%.
And you're gonna have to break through their walls, for sure.
Mm-hmm.
That's fair.
Um, in fact, that's more than fair.
I just, you know, I have the most sincere intentions For being here.
I-I truly do.
I can't really plead my case because I just wanna do it.
I want to be a different person.
I want to be the guy that I know I've grown into be.
You guys have helped make me a better person, So whether you wanted to do that or not, I thank you very much, and it's almost like I owe both of you this huge debt of gratitude, Only because it did change me, you know? Jenni, do you believe this can work for him? (sighs) really, I think for me, I'm hopeful for you.
Well, thank you.
I think I-I wish you luck, Um, and I hope that the girls Give you a chance and a little bit of a break.
Deanna? I am skeptical.
I don't think that a person in my position-- After everything that you and I went through, That whole situation-- wouldn't be skeptical, um, If you could make this a success.
I do believe he's capable of doing it.
But in the same sentence, I can only hope that you find What I have found and what jenni has found, 'cause it's wonderful.
It really is.
Okay.
Thanks.
Well, brad, are you nervous? (laughs) well, now--now I am.
Oh.
With all that's been said and done tonight, Are you nervous? And are you more nervous Than when you walked in here with me tonight? I'll say this-- yes, I'm more nervous, But I am just as excited, if not more so, Because I see how happy they are Yeah.
And again, I want that.
I want that.
I want that.
This is the light at the end of the tunnel.
Absolutely.
Absolutely.
Yes.
I want to meet these ladies.
I want to see them pull up.
I'm excited, man.
Well, it's about to happen.
Jenni, deanna, thank you so much for being here.
You know my man has a big night, and we need to get to it.
The bachelorettes are about to arrive, so why don't you Say good-bye to these lovely ladies And let's go meet the bachelorettes? Good to see you.
Good to see you guys.
Thank you.
Thank you.

(exhales deeply) The second time you've been standing in this spot.
It's the first time that's ever happened on this show.
Right.
What's the feeling like? It's a little bit overwhelming, but I, you know, Three years, man.
It's been a long time.
So I've done some changing.
Now I just want the chance to prove that.
30 beautiful women coming here tonight.
What do you fear the most? Rejection.
What if one of the women doesn't buy it? What if all of the women don't buy it Right.
That I'm changed, and they leave? Well, then I'm all alone again, so that's what I fear the most.
Last bit of advice, friend to friend Right.
Don't screw this up.
(laughs) I'll give it my best.
Thank you.
Brad, here comes the first limo.
Let the journey begin.
Thank you.
(exhales deeply) (woman) oh, my god.

Well, brad, 30 beautiful bachelorettes.
What do you think? Uh, I feel very undeserving, to be honest.
You know, it--it's, uh, it's not that I didn't expect it Right.
But again, I'm beyond words.
You say you're a changed man, right? Yeah.
Is your wife in there? Absolutely.
Absolutely? Yeah.
If they'll give me the chance, I'm ready, man.
I'm ready to prove it.
Well, they're dying to get to know you better.
30 women inside.
Brad, get ready for the night of your life Again.
(laughs) thanks, man, very much.
That he didn't pick anybody last time.
You don't want to fall in love in the end and you just be Head over heels for this guy and he just leaves you there.
Why didn't he pick anyone? Brad's smoking hot, obviously, which everyone knows, But, you know, I'm a little skeptical, for sure.
He's definitely gonna have to prove himself.
I just hope that this time around he knows what he wants, 'cause I'm not in the mood for another heartbreak.
I'm definitely nervous.
He's handsome, smart, successful, But it didn't work the first time.
Why is it gonna work the second? (keltie) if he doesn't get a wife this time, He's gonna have to go in a cave to live.
(laughter) Brad, 30 beautiful women From all across the country waiting to meet you.
One more thing before I send you inside.
There will be a first impression rose.
You've done this before.
You know what it's all about.
Okay.
You should give this rose to the one woman you know you want To keep around.
Right.
For better or worse, I've done it before, So I do remember.
(laughs) I don't know if that's good or bad, man.
Well, I think you're gonna do great.
The ladies are waiting for you.
The house is yours.
Enjoy, brad.
Thanks, chris.
(exhales deeply) (brad) I'm nervous.
I don't know if I quite deserve this second opportunity yet, But I feel so much more open this time, And I hope they just give me a chance to prove, Through actions, not words, that I'm a new man.
(exhales deeply) (women cheering) That's a lot of ladies.
(exhales deeply) my god.
You guys make me nervous.
(woman) well, welcome back.
A lot of-- have you been here before? (chuckles) I've been here a time or two, yes.
(laughter) First of all, thank you so much for being here.
Um Some of you may or may not know, I have a storied past with "the bachelor.
" Um, I have been the bachelor before.
Um, at the time, I did come for what I believed was all of the purest intention.
I mean, I truly believe that.
I really do.
But unfortunately it did not work out.
I left two women standing at the podium Without a ring.
I want each of you ladies to know what you're getting into.
It's been three long years.
Trust me, I wouldn't put myself through this, Much less 30 other people through this experience, If I didn't know that I have changed And I was here for the right reasons, okay? If anyone wants to leave, I understand.
I'm giving you that chance right now.
I don't want anyone to leave, but I get it.
Anyone? All right.
Thank you so much.
Um, well, we're at a party, okay, So let's all toast, please.
Collective toast.
(women cheer) Thanks for being here so much.
Cheers, guys.
Thank you for staying.
(women) cheers.
Brad is super sexy, and his speech seemed really sincere, But I am a little cautious, 'cause he did leave two girls That were truly in love with him at--you know, standing there Looking like idiots.
All right.
Let's get to know each other.
Brad's speech--I liked the fact that right away he came out With it in the open, and he was not trying to hide it, you know? I respect that, but he's gonna continue to get those questions Throughout the night.
There's no denying that.
Every girl has been through a situation where they've been Hurt in the past, and they don't want that to happen again.
I do have concerns, because, you know, you've done this before.
Right.
And I know you kind of addressed them in there, But I need to know that you're gonna be able to make a decision And not--I'm not gonna get screwed over.
(laughs) (laughs) very assertive.
Very.
Yes.
Okay.
We're cutting to the chase, aren't we? Yeah.
Obviously there's different girls here, And I'm here, but Much different women.
Um, but it wasn't about the women.
Yeah.
Yeah.
It really wasn't.
Let's face it.
It was about me.
It really was.
Absolutely.
Yeah.
So it was a huge life lesson.
There you go.
It's been three years, so maybe, like, things have happened In his life.
Maybe he's, like, ready to commit.
Maybe there's some huge thing that we don't know about That we're gonna find out about.
I kinda want to know what brought you to this point.
Three years is a very long time.
Mm-hmm.
That's three years of reflection, of hindsight Mm-hmm.
Three years of very intensive therapy.
I don't mind admitting it at all.
I mean, of really, really soul-searching And finding out who I truly was.
Mm-hmm.
I really wanna know what's been going on the past three years.
Yeah.
Exactly.
How have you worked on yourself? How have you, You know, tried to find yourself? I get a really nervous vibe from him I do, too.
Like he's, like, the villain.
I feel like a jerk.
I really do.
After I sent both women home, it was by far the loneliest day And loneliest time I've ever gone through.
(brad) I came into tonight knowing That my work was cut out for me, but I get it.
I get-- Every single one of those women have the opportunity And deserve the opportunity to ask me, Okay, are you really changed? So no matter if it's tough or not, I'll talk about it all night.
What happened, and when did you know That it wasn't going anywhere with either of these women? Uh Can I admit something? Yeah.
Please.
I don't know if I didn't truly feel it.
Yeah.
I think it was more of, um Scared? Very scared.
I feel like he's gonna have to have the same conversation, Like, over and over and over and over.
What made you really wanna do this all again? So you weren't ready to open up then, but you are now? Are you at a good place in your life? Great place.
What if you go through this experience, And you don't find somebody that you find a connection with? Um Are you willing to go through the backlash all over again? This group of women is tough.
I expected a lot of skepticism, But this group is not pulling a single punch.
Please don't make me hit you again.
Yeah? Fair enough.
Can you please? I mean, I don't want to hit.
Be a good boy.
We'll make that deal.
We'll make that deal.
I'm trying to put my best foot forward here.
I am here to find a wife.
I am here for these women to know the true me.
I'm trying so hard.
I r-- I-I mean Yeah.
I'm trying so hard.
Every single one of you have every right To doubt and second-guess.
Just give me a chance.
(brad) you know, I feel pretty beat-up right now.
I expected it, but I've been-- I've been run through the wringer a little bit, And it's overwhelming.
I am terrified that these women are not going to buy the fact That I've changed.
I don't know if this is gonna happen for me.
Do you think he's here for the right reasons? Let's just hope this time he decides to propose to someone.
Right.
(brad) I expected these women to be tough on me, And they're being tough on me.
You know, I feel beat up.
Still excited, but beat up.
I'm hoping that this doesn't continue all night.
I just wanted to go ahead and tell you Okay.
Yeah.
I'm not gonna give you any hard questions.
I know what happened, But honestly, like, everyone has stuff they did wrong In, like, past relationships and, like, I'm just gonna take What I see from you right now Yeah.
And from what happens here on out, and let's just do that.
Thank you Yeah.
(laughs) for--I mean, you have-- you have no idea.
(chuckles) I'm the type of person-- like, this is me.
Right.
Like, I'm--I'm not gonna hold anything back, And as long as you can do that with me, too Yeah.
Then we'll work out.
Well, trust me.
I've learned one thing, and it's to open up.
You know, I really have, so Yeah.
I can also, like, be a friend to you, And if you feel like you ever need to have an escape From everything and you just need someone to talk to, I want to be that person for you, too.
Very sweet.
(laughs) and thank you so much.
Sure.
(brad) ashley s.
Is a very beautiful girl, But she's also so sweet, and I'm so thankful That she didn't question me about my past.
For the first time tonight, I feel like we're moving forward.
I'm ready to really get to know these women.
Do I think my wife is waiting in that room? I really do.
Good evening.
Hello.
(brad) I, uh (woman) hello.
Chris harrison.
Chris harrison.
The man of the hour.
The first impression rose we talked about.
Okay.
Whenever you're ready.
I'll see you in a bit.
Okay.
Thanks, chris.
(laughter) it just got really quiet for a second.
If you're not ready yet, we totally understand.
(laughs) The first impression rose is sittin' on the coffee table, And, um, you know, it's definitely a kick in the butt.
You could just feel the tension in the room.
Everybody wants it.
(woman) it's pretty intimidating.
Actually, it puts a lot of pressure on you.
If I don't get my time, I'm gonna freak.
Finally.
Give me a hug.
Let me-- hey.
How are you? Let me calm down for second.
I'm so good.
How are you? Okay.
That (laughs) that scares me.
(laughs) don't be scared.
With pain-- what are we getting into? With pain, there's pleasure.
(laughs) absolutely.
I agree with that.
Sit with me.
Come hang out.
What are we doing? I would love to.
(raichel) I know I'm gonna get that first impression rose.
I'm about to get a little bit close and personal with him.
There's really nothing else to say about that.
(chuckles) I'm an aesthetician.
Okay.
I specialize in waxing (laughs) okay.
And I specialize in manscaping Okay.
Primarily, so you're in good hands.
Am I? It's gonna be fun.
Okay, so here's what we're gonna do.
Give me your hand, and you're gonna rest it right on my leg.
Right there.
Nice.
Okay.
And then you're just gonna lift this up a little bit, So this is what I do, so here's hot wax.
Okay.
Remember, I'm just doing a little share here, So (chuckles) we're gonna do a line.
Okay.
Does this grow back quickly? No.
(laughs) okay.
You'll be fine.
Are you ready? Yeah.
Just look at me.
Okay.
Don't get rid of the hair.
Too late.
Way too late.
It's gone.
(laughing) oh, my god.
That is very bare.
That is a very, very bare wrist.
Okay.
(laughs) That is shockingly bare.
Okay.
What are the craziest things you've waxed? The booty Gotcha.
(laughs) Uh, and there in between.
I like to call it the undercarriage.
The undercarriage.
And then I do this fun thing called "bat wings.
" Do I want to know what bat wings (laughs) (brad) not a chance in hell that I'm gonna make an appointment Anytime soon to get my, uh, what do they call it? The undercarriage? (laughs) I don't want my package waxed at all.
I'm staying as far away from a waxing room as I can.
Oh, I just noticed that.
(laughs) I wonder how he makes that decision.
(woman speaks indistinctly) 1 in 30, that's-- those are crazy odds.
Yeah.
I think brad--there's a huge change in him, and he's sexy-- Sexy, sexy, and I don't say that about a lot of people.
Do you have a moment? Will you talk to me? He is a very honest and open person.
He really put it all on the line, And it made me feel like, okay, I could be myself to him.
Oh-- so something that I like to do, more of a pastime (laughs) Uh-oh.
Okay.
So that's--I like to sing, and I sing in private Yeah? And I sing in the car, and I sing in the shower.
Oh, this is good.
Okay.
But I don't really have too much prepared for you.
(laughs) Oh, no, no, no.
You put yourself out there, so let's hear it.
Let's hear something.
la, la, la, la, la Okay.
(laughs) (laughs) I came here today (both laugh) all the way to l.
A.
(both laugh) what more can I say? take me away (laughs) beautiful voice.
Beautiful voice.
Much better than mine.
I am so not myself right now.
Oh, my god.
(laughs) no, no, no, no.
I love it.
I love it.
I feel like everyone that hasn't gotten a chance to talk to him Is, like, starting to freak out, you know what I mean? (woman) yeah.
Like, everything's getting ugly.
Oh, absolutely.
This is, you know, very real now.
It's like Do or die.
I mean, you've gotta make it happen for yourself.
(allie) it's getting pretty late, And that rose is on the table.
Brad's having kind of a rough night, but he seems charming And sweet, so I really need to get my face in front of him, And, you know, tell him what I want to tell him And have a more in-depth conversation.
I was once broken up with Okay.
Because the guy was looking for somebody With a more petite behind.
What? So Can you handle-- can you handle this? (laughs) I Well Is this too--are you looking for something more petite Should I be staring at your butt for, uh--no.
Or, uh, can you-- can you handle this? I think I can.
Yes.
(laughs) all right.
All right.
Were you really? Were you really? Is that a true story? Yeah.
Absolutely.
Yes, this is a true story.
Oh, my goodness.
(renee) oh, my god.
I've had my fair share Of dealing with some really obnoxious people, But I've had enough.
Can I steal you away? Uh, sure.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Let's go.
Is that okay? I'm sorry.
Absolutely.
All right.
All right.
Excuse me real quickly.
Have a seat.
(allie) so renee and brad and I are sitting there, We're having our two-on-one, And she decides five seconds in to steal him, so you know what? I'm gonna do it right back.
I have a great sense of humor.
I don't take life too seriously.
As you can see, I have no shoes on.
That's-- I think what it is is that-- Hello.
Back? Come on.
H-here.
Hello.
I wanna hang out, too.
Please do.
Sure.
Please do.
Okay.
(laughs) can I steal you back away? Yeah.
Is that okay? I would like to talk to you more later, though.
Okay.
Later.
Okay.
Okay.
Excuse me real quickly.
You're being jerked in every direction.
I'm sorry.
That's okay.
That's okay.
(laughs) this is fun for me.
Are you kidding me? We're all just that excited to talk to you.
Well, thank you so much.
That means a lot.
I really mean that.
Yeah.
Yeah.
So tell me about you.
What about you? So what happened? Well, he sat down in between us, And I was like, can I steal you for a second? That's what happened on mine.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
And I talked to him for, like, 30 seconds, And then she came up and took him back.
Why don't you go take him back now? Maybe I should.
I think you should.
Do it! I'm looking for somebody that--that really does have A hunger for life Yeah.
And wants to go out and wants to do everything And see everything, and I'm 24 Right.
And I think I'm probably one of the younger girls In the house Hi.
But I do want you to know that I am--I'm just as ready.
Can I steal you? Hello.
Yeah.
Of course.
(laughs) you're getting used to this.
Aah! Yeah.
Do you guys mind? Sorry.
I know you just sat back down.
No, no.
It was nice to have you.
Come back and find me.
I'm s--okay.
I will.
I'm getting aggravated, because I have not had any alone time With the bachelor, and all these (whispers) bitches (normal voice) are stealing time away from me.
I'm getting impatient.
Girl, again?! What happened? I mean, you're--you're a texas boy, and I'm a texas girl, so I love that.
I love that about you.
I saw that, and I was like, yay! I was so happy it was you.
Oh, my gosh.
(women speaking indistinctly in distance) Thank you so much.
I'm--I'm totally a family girl.
I'm all about my family.
I'm an athlete.
I played college volleyball.
I'm sorry.
What are you gonna do? Try again.
I'm glad I finally got to talk to you.
(laughs) well, you, too.
Yeah.
Well, you, too.
Definitely.
I was like, I'm never gonna talk to you.
(laughs) (laughs) But I guess I saved best for last, right? Absolutely.
Have a good night.
Enjoy it.
It's fun.
You, too.
Thank you.
I will.
I will.
(singsongy) I'm back.
All right.
Please have a seat.
Let's talk.
Finally.
(laughs) Okay, right.
You get a chance.
I know! I know.
I feel like I've had, like, These 30-second conversations, anthey get cut up.
Right.
(speaks indistinctly) excuse me.
I'm wicked sorry.
Hi.
(laughs) hi.
I can't let this happen.
Interrupted again.
(laughs) I know.
I just feel like you've had a bunch of times I haven't.
And I haven't had any.
I don't know.
I've had 30 seconds here and there.
You're being so stolen by me.
Okay.
All right.
I'm so sorry.
I'm so sorry.
I'm sorry.
I had to be a little aggressive.
I'm so sorry, but--all right.
Yeah.
I'm aggravated.
I'm better than all these (bleep) here.
I want a rose, but I don't feel like He's even gotten much of a first impression out of me.
(woman) At all.
(woman) oh, you poor thing.
(laughs) I know.
It's been staring at us for a while now.
I know.
When you see it, it just-- no pressure.
I know, right? It is getting late.
He's gonna have to decide.
It's definitely a test of your patience.
(laughs) oh, that's for sure.
I am scared to death that I'm not gettin' a rose, And I find myself kind of just floatin' to the back, I guess, Just because I'm not as outgoing, And I'm not-- I'm a little bit more shy.
It's been six years since my fiancé ricky passed away, And it's been rely hard trying to get to that point And open myself up and be that vulnerable, But I left a lot back home in charlotte.
I left my sweet daughter that I miss so much.
Uh, I guess I really need to just come out of my shell And get to know brad better and have him get to know me.
Tell me about yourself.
Where--I mean Um, I'm a coal miner's daughter from west virginia.
Are you really? I am.
Nice.
Um, I moved to charlotte about six years ago.
Okay.
And I have everything kinda lined up Yeah.
You know, I have a great job, I have a great family, I have a great home Right.
But, uh, you know, I don't have that somebody special Yeah.
And, you know, I know what it's supposed to feel like Yeah.
And I just haven't felt it in--in a really long time.
And, um, I'm not willing to settle for-- You know, my mom always tells me it's better to be home alone Than be home and wish you were alone.
So there was (laughs) A reason that this was brought into my life at this time.
Yeah.
You know, I can't say th if--if it--it had come to me This time last year that I would have been ready.
Right.
Yeah.
Um, but I am absolutely ready to be here and be sincere about it.
Yeah? For sure.
Mm-hmm.
Emily is the quintessential southern belle.
She's a very comforting person.
She's so sincere with everything that she says, So I'm very confident that she's here for the right reasons.
Watch your step, please.
Thank you.
I'm pretty confident in the fact That these women are here for one reason and one reason only, And that's to fall in love.
So hopefully, I'm not proven wrong.
Why aren't you (chuckles) Can I ask you a very strange question? Yeah.
You--are you-- are you wearing fangs? (laughs) what? What--no, I'm actually very serious here.
What's going on there? (speaking indistinctly) Does that bother you? No, but Does it scare you a little? No.
But they're fangs, correct? They're a little sharper than normal, yeah.
Are they real? Are--I mean, let (chuckles) You're really not opening up to me, and I don't know what-- I am.
Okay, well, what--what are you looking for? What--what--what-- what's going on here? (brad) my conversation with madison is interesting.
There's something that I really like about this girl.
She has a very sexy, unique look, But on the same hand, the girl has fangs, okay? Okay, if that's her deal, great.
If it's a joke, then get rid of it.
I'm not here to play games.
You seem tough, but a really-- a really cool girl, And different, which I really like.
But also, to be honest, I get the feeling That you just think all of this is kind of a game, And I really don't, you know? I really don't.
So do you want to be here or no? Honestly.
C--shoot straight.
Yes, I do.
Yeah? I-I don't--I don't wanna mess around.
I don't.
Yeah, please don't I don't at all.
'cause the fangs are really, really hot.
(madison laughs) madison's fangs are Concerning.
If she intentionally, like, Carved her teeth out to be fangs, I'm worried.
That concerns me.
I feel like brad needs a woman.
You know, he's a man.
And there's a lot of little girls in here, but I'm a woman, And I think that he'll be able to see that.
I, um, I watched your season, And I was very impressed with your decision.
Thank you.
(sighs) I think that it took a lot of courage, And I think one thing about you that I'm attracted to Is how honest you are.
I'm a woman.
Right.
I'm not-- I'm not a little girl, And I've been through a lot, and I You know, I'm ready for someone who is gonna be honest.
So So what have you been through? I mean, I know that's a deep question.
Well, I--no.
I have a daughter.
Do you really? What's her name? Yes.
She's 5 1/2.
Her name's brielle.
Brielle? Yeah.
Beautiful name.
She's so amazing.
I have--I have a twin brother and a little brother, And both of them have kids.
And it's the best feeling in the entire world, Just to be an uncle.
Seeing those kids run up to me When I walk through the door-- that's all I want, is a family.
Yeah.
You do want Yes, of course.
I-- I was kind of nervous about it.
No, my--don't One, that makes you who you are, of course Yeah.
But I want nothing more.
It's the most amazing thing in the whole world.
Brad's reaction to me having a daughter Was really, really amazing.
He's just so kind and gracious, and he's just an amazing man.
I want that rose so bad, And I don't think I'll settle for anything less.
(women cheering) (laughs) Oh, come join us.
I know.
I wish.
I'll be right back.
Maybe not right back, but, uh, I shall return.
(brad exhales deeply) there's some women out there That have made a very strong impression on me, But there's one girl that I have in my mind That is so deserving of that first impression rose.
She opened up to me.
She was so up-front and honest about her feelings.
I think this is a genuinely sweet girl, And that's everything I've been looking for.
Hello.
(women) hello.
How's everybody? (woman) doing great.
How are you? I'm well.
I'm actually really, really well.
Ashley, can I steal you really quickly? Please? Yeah.
Yeah.
Do you have a second? Come with me, please.
I do.
And can we go out this way? And around.
Watch your step.
Okay.

I feel like my heart is stopping.
Are you okay? You're making me nervous.
No, no, no.

You're so sweet.
(woman laughs) sorry to burst your bubble, honey.
I would have loved to have the first impression rose.
Thinking about it is, like, kinda making me sick.
You said-- when we talked earlier-- You said something that really, really struck home with me.
And you said that no matter what, You would be here to be my friend, And that encompasses everything that I want in a future wife-- No kidding--is a friend.
Okay.
And so, ashley, will you accept this rose, please? Very first rose.
I definitely will.
(laughs) Well, come here, please.

You know, he missed out on a really great woman Who is going to be an amazing wife, an amazing mother, Who has, I think, a fantastic personality.
So it's his loss, obviously, which is sad, Because something could have been there, But It just-- I guess it just wasn't.
So Thanks so much for coming out.
I really appreciate it.
Thank you so much for having me.
Well, I wish you luck.

I'm ready to find someone to be in love with.
I want that other person.

I just No.

Still smiling.
(speaks indistinctly) I wish you well.
Well, thanks so much.
No problem.
I don't think brad took me seriously.
I think he just saw me As someone that wasn't where he is.
The toughest part is just leaving already, so soon.
I definitely did not think this would happen.
I'm going to find someone.
I don't know where.
I don't know when.
He's just not here.
(sniffling) (crying) I really, really do think that my wife is in this room, But we're gonna have one hell of a ride To get there, okay? So let's have some fun, please.

It begins right now.
Oh, my god! This is awesome! (woman) I love a good love story, And I feel like this is the perfect fairy tale.
This is beautiful.
(woman) brad is grown up.
He's mature.
He knows what he's looking for now, and I like that.
This is one of the coolest feelings I think I've ever had.
(woman) never in my wildest dreams could I ever imagine Falling in love in costa rica.

(woman) I am so excited to have a one-on-one date in anguilla.
It is the most romantic place on the planet.
Whoo-hoo! (brad) I'm looking up at the stars over south africa, And I'm feeling it.
I'm feeling that romance.
(woman) I'm in the most amazing place on earth With the most amazing man.
(woman) oh, my gosh.
(brad) this is by far one of the most beautiful places I've ever been in my life.
Oh, my god.
There's a shark right there.
(screaming) Oh, my god.
I hate things up in the house there.
(woman) jealousy, insecurity, anger-- I'm feeling a rush of emotions.
If I felt something for someone, I could not just go and kiss All these different people.
(woman) if a chick gets in between me and my guy, It's not gonna be a pretty picture.
I will not have you get in the way of the rest of my life.
She is psycho.
No, actually, you are psycho.
(screaming) I woke up with a black eye.
Where did michelle's black eye come from? (crunch) (woman) I feel like certain girls are emotionally stable, And others aren't.
Aah! But I think that's something that brad has to figure out On his own.
I have something that I haven't told him, And it's something that he needs to know Before he asks me to marry him.
(woman) michelle is the type of girl that knows how To get attention from a guy.
I think we should go send some girls home now.
(woman) every girl he kisses after he kisses me Is just gonna be one huge disappointment.
(brad) I had an amazing kiss with britt, And I turn around, and I see ashley h.
Standing there.
Honestly, I've never experienced all these emotions before.
It sucks.
(woman) dealing with ashley h.
Is exhausting.
When she's on a group date, she just goes haywire.
Ooh! I hate this (bleep).
If you don't feel for me, I want you to send me home.
(woman) brad doesn't have a clan slate.
Brad doesn't have a good reputation.
No one's ever as perfect as you want them to be.
I'm scared of you.
I sabotage every relationship that I've ever been in.
(brad) sometimes I think you're losing interest.
(woman) what if he goes down this road again, And he doesn't have the girl That he wants to spend his life with? (woman) I hope that it doesn't end in heartbreak, But there's always a chance that it could.
(brad) I'm scared.
I'm so scared, Because these women have so much doubt.
(woman) brad's mood just dropped.
For the first time, I'm getting really upset.
(brad) it was just the most empty, loneliest feeling.
I'm not just going to chase some dream, Because if it fails, I'm stuck.
(woman) it's come down to the end, And I think he's trying to figure things out.
(clink) (brad) I came here looking for something, And I am so blessed.
I'm so confident in the fact That I love this woman with all of my heart.
I've fallen.
I've fallen madly in love.
Oh, I'm scared.
I'm not sure if the woman I've fallen in love with will be capable of loving me back.
there is so much a man can tell you so much I can say you are my power, my pleasure, my pain to me, you're like a growing addiction that I can't deny won't you tell me, is that healthy, baby? (woman) my biggest fear is that brad falls in love with me, And I am not able to love him back.
(brad) we had this strong connection, And we're losing it for nothing.
(woman) I'm just not sure where my heart is right now.
baby, I compare you to a kiss from a rose on the gray ooh, the more I get of you, the stranger it feels, yeah now that your rose is in bloom a light hits the gloom on the gray (brad) I'm physically and emotionally done.
la-da-da-da-da I came here and I told myself I was going to be very open, And now I'm gonna be left empty-handed, Because I'm the guy that left two women Standing at the altar last time.
