The Dead Files (2011) s03e05 Episode Script

A Widow's Rage & Death Sentence

Tonight Physical pain here.
On "Dead Files Revisited" A second look at some of Amy and Steve's most terrifying cases.
It's kind of creepy.
New information.
Scared the hell out of me.
Startling revelations.
My fear was real.
First a return to Uriah, Alabama.
Where violent encounters I fell through the ceiling.
Were just the beginning.
I heard a little girl scream.
What happened after the investigation? It was terrifying.
- Then - A lot of blood in my mouth.
We travel back to Santa Fe, New Mexico It was haunted.
To a notorious prison overrun by evil.
Far worse than any demon.
The monster turns one woman's world into hell Somebody can see into my head.
And leads to a life-changing decision.
It was a bad idea.
Did she follow Amy's advice? I can't even look.
There's something down there.
My name is Amy Allan.
A lot of dead people are here.
I see dead people.
This is not good.
I speak to dead people He is very pissed off.
And they speak to me The house is angry.
But there's only way to know if my findings are real.
He's killed people.
I rely on my partner.
I'm Steve Di Schiavi.
I'm a retired New York City homicide Detective He got shot at his house? And I know every person, every house has secrets.
Aren't you terrified being here? It's my job to reveal 'em.
That sounds like something out of "The Exorcist.
" But Steve and I never speak We never communicate during an investigation.
Until the very end.
It's bad.
When we uncover if it's safe for you to stay I'd like some answers.
Or time to get out.
This investigation took us to a tiny town in Alabama called Uriah.
About an hour from Mobile.
The investigation started with a call from a woman named Robin.
She's never believed in the paranormal, but sometimes a near-death experience will change the way you look at things.
Pretty much since we bought this place, you know, strange things have started happening.
I've seen and heard a few things, but recently, I was physically attacked.
And I can't explain it away in my head.
I haven't felt comfortable telling anybody a lot of this stuff, and for a long time I didn't.
But Steve he didn't make me feel like I was a lunatic, which I was afraid of.
So, Robin, you never believed in the paranormal before, but you do now? Yes.
- Why not just move? - It's not really an option for us.
You know, we've, we've put our life savings into this place and, you know, there's really nowhere for us to go.
On the drive to the house, I was swarmed by powerful entities.
As soon as I stepped out of the car, two of them came right after me.
There were two men.
They're both kind of freaky.
I also did see the word "poltergeist.
" I don't like it here.
What's wrong? He doesn't want me here And he doesn't want me to talk about him.
And he threatened me, and I'm kind of scared because Because, like, I think he can, like, really do [Bleep.]
And I don't like him.
I've gotten used to people telling me they've seen and heard terrifying things.
But what happened to Robin had me wondering how she was still alive.
A little over a year ago, I was following my brother-in-law from one side of the attic to the other, and He had just walked across a plank, and when I stepped on the middle of the plank It cracked, and I fell through the ceiling.
I fell from there all the way to the floor in the entryway.
You fell from that hole in that ceiling all the way down to here? Yes.
All the way down.
That's amazing that you're not dead.
I know.
I should be.
So this guy can kill people.
How? Strangle them, beat them, throw them down the stairs, give them a heart attack, anything he wants, really.
This guy was so dangerous.
I couldn't believe people lived in that house.
I didn't even want to be there one night.
This area is not safe.
So, Robin, what's going on in here? One night, uh, I was awakened, and when I looked back this way, there was a tall, thin outline of a man.
No details, just sort of, you know, shades of gray.
That's bizarre.
I don't have any explanation for it, Steve.
I'm I'm at a loss.
It likes standing over the beds.
- It feels better when I - And what is it doing when it does that? Mm It tries to kill people.
Does it? I think it could.
So, Ty, I was talking to your wife.
Um, she's experiencing some pretty bizarre things in the house.
Um, how about yourself? Anything? No, I haven't I haven't seen anything in the house.
I mean, she's, you know, tried to point some things out to me at times.
But nothing.
I-I can't see it.
Do you believe her? I believe she sees something.
At first, Ty told me he hadn't seen or heard anything weird.
But once we got talking, he confessed to a crazy experience of his own.
A buddy of mine Danny and myself had come back by the house on our way to Mobile.
When I go in the house, I heard a little girl scream.
Just like a kid screaming? No, it was like I had startled the child.
And when I got in the truck, Danny asked me, he said "Tell me you heard that.
" I said, "heard what, Danny?" He said, "well, I heard a little girl scream.
" But there's no small children in this area, and it sounded like it come from in the house.
I am hearing residual screaming.
I don't know what that's about.
Females - Screaming.
- Words or just screams? Nah, just screaming.
High-pitched screaming, pain.
Can other people hear these screams? If they're a little bit sensitive, yeah.
That house was buzzing with activity.
But every time I tried to communicate with a dead person.
One entity kept blocking them.
Are you all right? Then his interference turned into physical attacks.
Wherever this guy is, it's hard to breathe.
He makes it hard to breathe, but it's, like, from inside.
It's really weird.
I don't like it.
Mm, he's trying to smother.
That's when I realized why I'd seen the word "poltergeist.
" He's all over here.
He can move things.
He's like a poltergeist manifestation.
How does he feel about the people in the house? Um, he would like to kill them.
Coming up next They look like zombies.
An evil entity stalks Amy.
I don't like it.
And in our second investigation, a return to one woman's portal to hell.
I can't even look at that.
Did she listen to Amy I was freaked out.
Or is she paying the price? I can't live like this.
Amy and I investigated an old plantation home in Uriah, Alabama.
Our client was Robin, a woman who felt something in the house was trying to hurt her.
I fell through the ceiling all the way to the floor.
At this point, I didn't have much to go on.
Local property records went all the way back to the 1880s.
But there was absolutely nothing on the house.
That was unusual.
I knew I had to find out why.
So I tracked down the woman who sold the house to Robin and her husband Ty.
Anna, maybe you could clear something up for me.
The house records and the property records aren't matching up.
Uh, does that make any sense to you? Yeah, the house was not there originally.
Anna explained that the house had been moved from its original property on the Alabama river 90 miles away.
You could see the river from three sides of the house.
There was another structure, and it was moving, moving, moving.
Mm-hmm.
And there's A river Which is important? Now that I knew the history of the house, I was able to locate a descendent of the man who built it in the 1880s.
Going into this interview, I hoped to get some more history on the house, but what I found was a lot of death.
The house was originally built by a man named William "Doc" King he went off to The Civil War, caught Yellow Fever, and came back home to a-a run-down plantation.
He was very sick.
And they lost, uh, two of their young children, a toddler daughter, Rebecca Who was named for his wife passed away, and then William passed away the next day.
And then several years later, she loses a daughter.
- Do you know what they died of? - Yellow Fever.
Do you think all the family members died in the house? There were no hospitals at the time, so these children died at the house.
So we have, like, five dead kids.
They'll play and You know, do normal kid things But they look really creepy.
Like, they're creepy little kids.
They're, like, pale and they have the dark circles around their eyes.
They look like zombies.
Rebecca she lost everything Their fortune and family members.
So how did she handle that? Uh, I'm sure it was really hard for her at that time.
It was pretty dark times for the family at that point.
When I look back on it, Tim had the most important information in the entire investigation.
Everything he said pointed to one tragic figure Rebecca.
There is a depressed lady who wants to kill herself.
Thinking, how do you do it? What do you do? How do you do it? How do you do that? Cut her wrists or Hang? Looking at the suicidal woman, I sensed she was the one responsible for the dark entity who tried to suffocate me.
I needed to sketch her.
And there's this dark shadow man.
And how tall? He's probably like 6'5 Amy, is this what you saw? Yes.
Next, the emotional reveal and Amy's terrifying vision.
I've never seen a sketch like this before.
Creepy.
And for the first time, what happened after the investigation.
It's terrifying.
Robin's gone through some terrifying ordeals.
And to be honest with you, I think it's a miracle you're still alive.
It is.
I didn't know anything about Robin, but based on what I knew was hiding inside this house, I had to agree.
She was lucky to be alive.
Question is, is it safe for her to be here? That's why they called us in.
Sitting across table, I was very nervous.
I was very apprehensive.
Because when something that you can't explain has a physical affect on you.
It's terrifying.
So maybe you can tell us a little bit about your walk.
During my walk, one of the things that I got was a river and water, and I was getting that that was very important.
Amy floored me.
I'd uncovered that this house had been originally built in the 1800s about 90 miles away right on the Alabama river.
And it was moved in the 1960s to here.
The family that owned the house and built it was, uh, William King and Rebecca Tait.
William King and three of his children all died gruesome deaths from Yellow Fever.
Basically, you kind of look like the walking dead when you get this stuff.
That's interesting.
Well, why do you think it was interesting, about the Yellow Fever? - And what I said about the wa - Yeah, the walking dead, because I got children back here, and they looked like zombies.
I was curious about the dead children I encountered, but the bigger threat in the house was the dark entity that attacked me.
And it scared me and it put really negative images during my whole walk of throwing someone down the stairs Strangling someone.
It just feeds off of that.
The hair stood up on the back of my neck when she said that.
A little over a year ago, I had to go up in the attic for something.
My brother-in-law was up there, and I walked across a-a board that he had just walked across, and it broke on me.
I fell from up in the center Down to the floor in the entryway.
Oh, my gosh.
It really should have killed me.
This case was really disturbing.
There were a lot of unexplained things going on, with no way to tie them all together.
Until we revealed Amy's sketch.
Hmm.
Well, I've never seen a sketch like this before.
Creepy.
The sketch scared the hell out of me.
Because I had seen that thing.
The information Steve came up with helped me put it all together.
I believe the suicidal woman I saw was Rebecca.
And she had trapped the spirits of her dead children in the house.
She couldn't handle losing her husband and her children.
So she goes into this major depression, and she may have had this ability psychokinesis.
Simply put, psychokinesis is when a person, in this case Rebecca, has the ability to create an entity that can attack the living and the dead.
This thing needs to feed itself, like an animal.
And its food is Despair, anger, death.
The fact that its ultimate goal was to cause death It's it's a pretty frightening prospect.
You guys have heard the term "poltergeist"? That's a step below this.
This is severe, p.
K.
Manifestation You've created an entity to basically do your bidding.
It's not like she knew she was doing this.
- So it's unintentional? - Yeah.
So I know this was a lot for you to absorb tonight.
Question is, though, how do you get rid of this thing, and if you're safe? Um, the only one that can really answer that is Amy.
What I would suggest is having a medium come in and first deal with the children and moving them on.
And that way, the psychokinesis will begin to diminish, but it can still harm in the meantime.
There's cleansing techniques to protect yourself by bringing in someone who is religious, like a priest And make it leave.
So are the two of you gonna take Amy's advice and get a medium and try to take care of this? This whole experience has been a life-changing event for me.
My husband contacted the church that he grew up in, and several members of the church came.
I wasn't here.
I was so afraid that it wouldn't work that I was just too nervous to be here.
But after this was done, it just felt like a different house.
We haven't had any more experiences.
It's just peaceful now.
I'm glad that Robin and Ty took part of my advice, but it's only a temporary solution.
They still need to bring in a physical medium to get rid of those children, or that dark entity could remain a serious threat to everyone in that house.
In all my years as a Detective, I've been inside of a lot of prisons.
But the New Mexico State Penitentiary in Santa Fe creeped me out more than any of them.
Of course, now I know why.
Our client, Sandi, had only spent two days there filming a movie.
And the minute she left, her whole life went to hell.
Tell me what happened when you were here? There was a lot of real spooky things that happened, just hearing things, seeing things, feeling things.
When I met Steve for the first time, I felt like I could trust him.
I felt like he was really there seeking answers.
I need to know what's going on.
Everything that's happened since then has made me sick.
I can't sleep half the time.
And I just have, like, this sense of doom.
You don't strike me as a woman that's really afraid.
- I am not usually afraid of anything.
- Hmm.
And it really does creep me out to be in there.
You gonna be all right to show me some of these places? - Yeah.
- Come on.
I've been to Santa Fe many times.
And every time I've sensed an energy that just feels wrong to me.
But that prison and the land it was on felt like pure evil.
There was one event that happened and And the Earth absorbed it here.
It might've been two Native American tribes.
And it Hasn't been good since.
A lot of people who stayed here saw [Bleep.]
.
People having all these weird experiences and, uh, physically weird [Bleep.]
happening.
It's, like, haunted.
The whole place is haunted.
Coming up next A lot of crazy people.
Amy's terrifying walk into darkness He's killing someone.
And the evil creeps beyond the prison walls.
Did the stuff at your house stop? No.
Amy and I were investigating the abandoned, New Mexico State Penitentiary in Santa Fe.
Our client, Sandi, had some terrifying experiences.
And she was convinced that whatever she'd encountered had followed her home.
So, Sandi, what happened in this part of the prison? When we were in this room, there was a lot of strange things happening, like noise.
What kind of things were you hearing? We heard, like, clanging.
Like, if somebody was kind of shaking metal.
Right.
But the strangest thing for me was seeing the shadows.
It scared the heck out of me.
Now can you describe what the shadow looked like? It was quick but it it it looked like a Like somebody was running by.
One minute they're here, the next minute, you turn to see, and they're gone.
Almost as if something didn't want you to see it.
Aw, there's just nasty stuff down here.
Like what? There's, like, a lot of crazy people down here.
They don't even know who they are.
Really crazy.
That was the most active prison I've ever walked.
And one particular entity in the laundry room was really scaring me.
Oh, boy.
I don't My heart is jumping Because I'm nervous.
He's a shadow person.
Man, this thing's, like, a monster.
It was like an insane asylum filled with people going crazy.
And this shadowy figure seemed to be causing the insanity.
This guy can do stuff.
He's, uh Very, very well-formed.
Very well-formed.
He's like, uh, advanced.
So what can it do to people? It can do anything from, like, rape to, like Killing someone.
Okay, Sandi, why'd you take me to this room? In between takes, we were down here, and I found this really neat hat.
And I thought, oh, my boys would love this hat.
So I grabbed it and I took it home with me.
All right, so let me get this straight.
You saw shadow people, and at the end you take something from here and bring it home? Yeah.
Obviously, I'm no paranormal expert, but swiping a souvenir from a haunted prison didn't sound like a good idea.
Some scary stuff started happening in my house.
I did not think that taking a hat was gonna bring negative energy to my home.
That was the furthest thing from my mind.
I bet you wish you didn't take that hat now.
You got that right.
It wasn't until later on that I realized it probably was a bad idea.
- What'd you do with it? - I burned it.
- Where? - In the fireplace.
Did the stuff at your house stop? No.
He's like a Maybe not a shadow person.
I think he's more than that.
The more I observed this thing, the more I realized I wasn't dealing with a shadow person.
It was something I'd never seen before, and it was even more terrifying.
Where does it come from? Uh, not from a good place.
This is, like, ancient and like I don't know.
Devil.
I could sense this entity liked to create havoc and feed on death and negativity, but that wasn't the worst of it.
I think it could follow the living out of this place.
Next I'm seeing a throat being slashed.
A shocking twist reveals new dangers.
All hell breaks loose.
And Amy comes face-to-face with an uninvited visitor.
It came out of the hole.
Amy and I investigated an old prison in New Mexico.
Our client, Sandi, has spent two days there filming a movie, and after that her life fell apart.
Everything that's happened since then has made me sick all the time.
This part of Santa Fe had a long history of violence.
In 1680, 400 Spanish settlers were slaughtered in a Native American revolt.
Years after the prison was built, it was the site of one of the bloodiest riots in U.
S.
history.
I needed some questions answered, so I set up a meeting with a local reporter who covered the story.
You had probably the worst riot in the history of prisons in the country.
We had 33 inmates dead, more than 90 wounded.
So, Mike, where did it start? It starts at a dormitory called E-1.
All hell breaks loose.
You had be-headings.
You had, uh, inmates who used, uh, acetylene torches.
Inmates were beaten with pipes and then thrown dead or alive into, you know, burning fires.
There were, uh, guards that were Were just brutally and severely beaten, uh, and sexually assaulted.
I expect to see a certain amount of negative activity inside a prison, but as soon as I reached the dormitory area, it felt like I was being ambushed.
- Who the [Bleep.]
is this? - What? Someone's "Jack.
" "Jack.
Jack.
" "Oh, no.
We've got a situation.
" I think he got killed.
Well, I'm seeing a throat being slashed.
I feel like my neck is breaking and Ow, my head.
And It's, like, all right here.
Are you okay? Amy, what's wrong? Oh, God.
There's, like, a lot of blood in my mouth.
When Steve and I conduct an investigation, we never discuss the case until the night of the reveal, unless someone's safety is at risk.
Then it can't wait.
There is something very, very evil there.
And things from that location, could follow someone.
Oh, it's funny you say that because the client is having some issues at her place.
You want to do a walk on her house? Yes, I think that would be a good idea.
Okay.
While Amy was walking Sandi's house, I located a former inmate who was involved in the 1980 prison riot.
He asked me to protect his identity.
And once he told me his story, I understood why.
You were here for the riot? I was here for the riot.
Did you see any of these guys get murdered? Yeah, I saw quite a few of them.
I saw killings.
One inmate got his head chopped off, you know.
They paraded his head on a broomstick.
That [Bleep.]
riot was like Vietnam.
I mean, it was, like, crazy, you know? This building is a devil's shop.
It's the devil's house.
It needs to be destroyed.
Hmm, I see somebody getting their head chopped off.
I don't know.
It's like a flash of It feels sacrificial In some way.
I definitely sensed that the hostility from the prison was also inside that house.
And once I walked toward the back, I figured out how it got there.
There's, like, a Thing that came in from the Outside, and it's a dark Just mist.
Mist.
It came out of the hole.
Right there.
- The hole in the tile? - Yeah.
Very, very, very bad.
I was pretty sure that our client saw the same dark figure I saw in the prison, and she probably felt the creepy insanity, too.
So that's the part of my walk I decided to sketch.
So, Amy, is this what you saw? Yes.
Next, Amy reveals the monster hiding inside Sandi's house.
Far worse than any demon.
But did Sandi free herself from its grasp? I can't right now.
Sandi actually filmed a movie here, and she's had some pretty wild experiences while she was here.
Uh, since then her health has deteriorated.
I was starting to get a little freaked out.
I had that feeling in the back of my mind that she was gonna have something to tell me that I was not gonna like.
When I first got here, I saw Two tribes that were fighting over I think land.
That sounded a lot like the Native American uprising I had found during my research.
During that revolt, there was - Well, that's interesting.
- Why is that? The land has always been bad.
You know, as soon as as the Prison was built, it was haunted.
I ended up down by the laundry room And I saw The thing that made the Earth bad here.
There was, like, this gray mist.
Then I Saw this thing.
I mean, some people would Say it's a devil.
And this thing is Far worse than any demon.
It likes this place a lot because it's scary.
And it was surrounded by these insane men.
So what I did was I sketched the scene that I saw.
Let's take a look at it.
Jeez.
I couldn't look at it, because I've seen that.
I've seen that scene.
It was like seeing a dream, like somebody could see into my head.
So that's what I saw down there.
And he's the really, really bad one.
He's, like, the devil thing.
He can make people sick.
He can rape.
He can murder.
Sandi, why don't you tell Amy about the shadow figure you had seen? I can't right now.
I can't even look at that right now.
It's okay.
I see that man a lot.
Have you had experiences before? - Yeah.
- Yeah.
They'll be attracted to us.
He has never been human, and He has grown to what he is.
By all of the horrors that have happened here.
Anything else on your walk? I saw another guy getting his throat slashed.
And there was, um, one guy who got bashed in the head.
Yeah, it is a prison but it's also, the scene of probably one of the bloodiest prison riots in U.
S.
history.
- They raped these guys.
- Oh, my what? They beat them.
They set a couple guys on fire with an acetylene torch.
They cut another guy's head off.
And they paraded it around like a trophy.
What's that look? During the walk of your house I saw a man getting his head cut off.
It was like a sacrifice.
Wow.
I knew there was a connection between the prison and Sandi's house, but I still wasn't sure how, until Sandi told me her story.
I found a hat down there that I thought was cool, and so I took it.
And I brought it home.
I mean, I realized after I got it home that it was probably a really bad idea, because then things started happening in my house.
Hmm, boy.
So I burned it, but I burned it in the fireplace.
- In the house.
- Oh, [Bleep.]
.
What I'm thinking is that you brought a little piece of this negative To your home.
What you need to have happen Is for a medicine man, to.
.
Come to your house And do A Ritual cleansing.
The other thing is that you need a cleansing ritual of your body, because it does like to attach.
In a very physical way.
These two things need to be happening simultaneously.
Okay? You gonna take her advice? I did have a medicine man come to my home.
We walked room to room.
And we prayed.
I did not get a body cleanse.
I really didn't feel like I needed it.
I believe the devil, his minions They can't hurt me.
If Sandi's medicine man performed a proper cleansing, her home should be safer than it was.
But this thing is also attracted to her personally.
So until she cleanses herself, I believe she's still in danger.
