[Claudia narrating]
[Claudia] I kept the magical map
to the Garden of Innocents
in Kpp'Ar's secret basement.
[Terry gasps] Wow.
It's gorgeous.
[Claudia] The map.
It's completely blank now.
There's nothing on it.
[Aaravos] Young Terrestrius
has what we need.
We must let him guide us.
[Ezran] You killed my father!
Soren, arrest him!
[Rayla]I have to stop this.
I'm going to get Runaan out.
[Rayla] I won't let you have him.
[Callum] Frigus pedes!
I'm sorry, Ezran.
[theme music playing]
[serene music playing]
[people shouting]
Traitors of Lux Aurea.
Today, you face judgment.
You have followed a betrayer
down a path of violence.
Our laws dictate the punishment is death.
[people gasp]
[Janai] However
Queen Amaya and I believe
in second chances.
We believe compassion will build
a stronger, brighter future
for the Sunfire kingdom.
So we have decided
on forgiveness.
Each and every one of you
will be pardoned.
[gasps] Oh. Oh, my goodness. Oh.
Oh, thank you so much. Thank you.
[indistinct chatters]
Let today be remembered
as the Day of the Great Amnesty.
Understand that you must
earn back the trust, respect,
and honor of your fellow elves.
That is how we heal.
Do not stray again.
There will be no third chances.
All hail the queens of mercy!
[soldiers] Queens of mercy!
Queens of mercy! Queens of mercy!
Queens of mercy!
Queens of mercy! Queens of mercy!
Whoo! Whoo!
That was so beautiful.
I'm so proud of you.
But, Janai, you can't avoid making
a decision about your brother forever.
- Will you pardon Karim as well?
- No.
Karim's army was led astray,
but he is the one who led them.
If I choose not to blame
the thousand elves who turned against us,
then I have to lay the blame upon Karim
a thousand times more.
But he's your brother.
Yes, he is.
My brother tried to take
everything from me.
From us.
How can I ever forgive him?
I'll never forgive him.
[grunts]
Callum betrayed me.
He betrayed all of Katolis.
We can't let him get away with it.
Corvus, I need you to track them.
King Ezran, we already know
where they're going.
The Silvergrove.
Right. And that's why I need you
to intercept them before they get there.
You're the bread.
- [whimpers]
- Not now, Zym!
King Ezran.
Could I have a word?
[sighs]
[Aaravos] The unicorns had many secrets.
And their oldest secret
was the Garden of Innocents.
A beautiful place hidden from prying eyes
where unicorns could find peace
and tranquility.
Sounds absolutely lovely. [chuckles]
- [Terry] Hmm.
- What's wrong, Terry?
We should be at a bridge.
A bridge next to a tree
and over a rainbow river?
Seems hard to miss.
See? Take a look.
Ah, sure is weird.
These look like hoof prints.
I remember!
[chuckles]
Uh
[Terry] Claudia, watch out!
[laughs]
Yes! The tree is the bridge!
[Terry laughs]
- [Claudia] Mwah!
- [Terry giggles]
Come on. It's easy!
Um, Claudia.
I don't think I'm doing this right.
You have to run and jump, Terry.
Run and jump! [laughs]
[quacking]
[Ezran] Callum and I
used to feed the ducks old bread.
The ducks told me they like berries better
but Callum didn't believe me.
[grunts]
[quacking]
[grunts]
[somber music playing]
I know it hurts right now, Ezran,
but you need to know
that you and Callum are not broken.
The both of you will heal one day.
- You're brothers.
- [sniffles]
[Zym grunts]
It's okay to be angry,
and it's okay to be sad.
But I think you should let this go,
for now.
You are the king of Katolis,
and your people need you.
You're right. I need to protect them.
There's something I want to show you.
A secret place in Duren.
[scoffs] What is it?
My Queen, it's about General
that is, it's about the other prisoner.
- Miyana.
- Miyana, who conspired with Karim?
Who stole the Sun Seed and our future?
She may be one of your own,
but I will not be swayed.
She will be granted no amnesty.
I understand.
But, Queen Janai,
circumstances have "changed."
Circumstances? What? What circumstances?
Miyana has informed her guards
that she is
- with child.
- [coughs]
[tense music playing]
[ethereal music playing]
[gasps]
Oh! That's the rainbow river.
[birds chirping, hooting]
[chuckles] Imagine what it was like
when it was full of unicorns.
It's too bad they're all gone now.
It is beautiful, indeed,
but there's work to be done.
I have a favor to ask, young Terrestrius.
A favor?
To make a primal stone,
Claudia and I will search
for an ingredient here in the garden,
but I need you to go back to the forest
to find something just as important.
Uh, what is it?
Two shimmercrow feathers.
A large feather and a very small one.
Two feathers? That's all?
That is all.
Oh, thank goodness!
I thought you were going to ask me
to find something weird or creepy.
[chuckles] You know, the usual.
Find us the prettiest, fluffiest feathers
in the forest, Terry.
We'll explore the garden when we're done
with all this mage work.
Right. Easy-peasy.
I'll be back in two wiggles of my waggle.
[blows a kiss]
Come, Claudia. Let's begin.
[majestic music playing]
How much do you know about the Mage Wars?
Only what my tutors taught us.
When humans were banished from Xadia,
they found that the western half
of the continent
was almost completely barren of magic.
That is not the whole truth.
- What do you mean?
- The West wasn't barren at all.
Before the Mage Wars,
the land was the same as all of Xadia,
full of life,
full of riches, full of magic.
In the new lands,
the humans who rose to power
were those who knew how to use its magic.
The mages became warlords.
[crowd cheering]
The mage warlords waged
bitter, bloody battles
for control of the lands they claimed.
Their armies scoured the lands
for magic and bled it dry.
[unicorns neigh]
[Aanya]And they hunted
the magical creatures to extinction.
When one mage rose to power,
another was quick to dethrone them.
It was a violent, terrible cycle.
The wars only stopped
when there was nothing left to fight for.
All the magical resources
were consumed or destroyed,
and magic all but disappeared
from the West.
How could I not know that?
What really happened.
History has a way of burying
the ugly truths of those who write it.
So, why are you telling me
about all this now?
After the Mage Wars,
some things were hidden.
What I'm about to show you is a secret
Duren has kept concealed for centuries.
[crickets chirping]
- Something is bothering you.
- Yeah.
I feel bad about Terry.
You made the garden sound so beautiful.
Like it's just some wonderful,
peaceful place of rest.
It is beautiful. It is a place of rest.
Those are not lies.
But it's not the whole truth, either.
Just like with the map and those feathers.
We didn't tell Terry that unicorns
come here to rest forever.
That this place is a graveyard.
[sighs]
Ossa revelare!
[ominous music playing]
Huh?
[gasps]
Oh.
[ominous music continues]
[snorts]
[neighs]
[snorts]
Oh.
There is nothing to be afraid of, Claudia.
No ghost or specter stands before us.
Your spell has merely reassembled
and reanimated these parts
like a puppet on strings.
It's just a pile of old bones.
Nothing more.
Well done.
[cracking]
All right.
We've turned the unicorn bones
into unicorn bone goop.
Now we've just got to make the goop
into a ball, right?
Hmm, does a primal stone
always have to be a ball?
Oh! What about a primal jelly tart?
Or a primal mustache. Uh-huh. [chuckles]
[mimics Soren]
Who wants to do some pushups?
Well, it suits you, Claudia,
but I'm afraid it must be a sphere.
I was joking.
You could smile a primal smile.
[chuckles]
You remind me of her.
Of what my daughter would have been like
if she had lived to be your age.
Oh? What do you think she'd be like?
Brilliant and clever.
Strong and special.
And silly as a baby pufferbat
chasing a butterfly.
[chuckles] She sounds like someone
I'd be friends with.
All right, look. It's a boring sphere.
- Happy now?
- Boring?
That sphere will tap into all the power
of the moon itself.
Is that boring?
Eh, a little bit.
You know what's not boring? Think fast.
[chuckles]
[ominous music playing]
[door creaks]
Sun's first, brother.
[Karim chuckles] Now look who's talking
like someone living in the past.
I am looking towards the future, Karim,
and so I bring you an offer of mercy.
Oh, like the amnesty
you bestowed upon my soldiers?
All you did was show your weakness.
No.
Their amnesty will be earned.
Just like yours.
[chuckles]
And what would you have me do?
- Relinquish your name.
- My name? Tsk!
You've already stripped me
of all my titles and inheritances.
Relinquishing my name is meaningless.
There is power in a name.
You always were a terrible liar.
You're not telling me everything,
are you, Janai?
Power in a name.
But why would you?
Something has changed.
[gasps] It's Miyana.
She is carrying my heir, isn't she?
You're afraid to execute me
because it will make me a martyr.
You will set the wheels of history
in motion
and one day, my child will avenge me.
[grunts]
[sniffs]
Enough, Karim!
Not everything is some scheme or plot!
You're my brother!
How many times do I have to attempt
to spare you?
I am trying to give you another chance,
another one, and you refuse to take it.
All you do is look at me with contempt!
[door shuts]
[whistling]
[Aaravos] Because they come
from the realm of the moon,
they won't be able to survive
in the sunlight.
And that is why
we must bring forth eternal night.
Umm
[clears throat]
Hello. [chuckles]
Didn't mean to sneak up on you there.
- Oh. Hi, Terry. You're back.
- Yep.
I'm a little early, with the feathers.
I hope that's okay.
So, um, what are you two talking about?
Oh, you know, dark magic stuff.
Look, we've almost got a primal stone.
Looking marvelous.
- What makes it shimmer?
- Magic.
[enchanting music playing]
- What is this place?
- This is Duren's greatest secret.
Wow! A secret cave.
[whispers]
We have plenty of those in Katolis.
The secret is obviously
what's inside the cave, Soren.
Yes.
But before we go in,
there's something you should see.
It's a fire ruby.
My mages have learned a way
to amplify the magic
inside of these with special runes.
So what's it do?
Watch.
[dramatic music playing]
[explosion]
Whoa! Shablow!
After the Mage Wars, fire rubies
became exceedingly rare and hard to find.
Follow me.
[dramatic music builds]
[gasps]
[grunts]
Bigger ruby, bigger shablooey.
Shablow plus kablooey.
- Heh, I'm I'm a poet.
- [sighs]
Indeed.
With these, we can build weapons
to protect the human kingdoms,
even from dragons.
[grunts]
Thank you, Queen Aanya.
This may be exactly what we need.
Miyana will be given amnesty,
but she must live a humble life,
never to hold a position of power again.
And Karim? Is he to share this mercy?
No. Karim's sentence is death.
Set a date for his execution.
[dramatic music playing]
The final step to creating
a moon primal stone
was once a troublesome task.
The stone must travel all the way
around the world.
- Oh, I get it. Like a mini-moon.
- [Aaravos] Yes.
Mages would spend years of their lifetimes
traversing the deserts, mountains, oceans,
a dangerous journey
that many perished in attempting.
But with my magic
Potentia fugae.
It can circle the world by morning.
The primal stone will be complete.
Wow, so that's the big feather spoken for.
What about the very small one?
Patience, young Terrestrius.
Now fly.
[ominous music playing]
