The Glee Project (2011) s02e02 Episode Script

Dance Ability

1 So here's what you missed on The Glee Project.
14 very diverse contenders arrived at the glee project campus to begin the ride of their lives.
There's pretty girls that come in all sizes small, medium, and large.
There's even one on wheels, a transgendered male, a cute blind guy, an Asian guy with red hair, a Justin Bieber look-alike who's actually a girl, and plenty of hot guys who are smart too.
I love calculus.
Shanna was off to a great start when Lea Michele chose her as the homework winner, while Aylin's fire seemed to fade, and Tyler just couldn't get his feet to cooperate with his brain.
In the end, it was maxfield that was sent home.
Now 13 contenders remain to compete for a multiple-episode guest-starring role on glee.
And that's all you need to know so far on The glee project Week two, baby.
I hope we get a cool song.
Yeah, that's what I want to see what it is.
Last week, I was on the bottom three.
This week, I'm just gonna work on getting my confidence back 'cause I'm a spunky, badass turkish Muslim, and not many people can say that.
- Hey, guys.
- Hey! Kind of gather around over here.
So you ready to find out the theme for this week? Yes! Get ready to sweat.
- Oh? - Because it's dce-ability.
Yes, yes.
Dance-ability week.
Really? After I was in the bottom three last week for my horrible dancing abilities? It had to be the second week? I'm just gonna make sure to have fun with it 'cause I'm not the best of dancers.
I'm really nervous with it being dance-ability week because dancing's not my strong suit.
I'm more of a coffeehouse performer, and this is going to be really challenging.
Your homework assignment is We got the beat by the go-go's.
You all know it? I'm really excited aboutwe got the beat.
Mario, I have your lyric sheet in braille.
And it's up to you to decide who gets what part and come up with your group choreography.
Tomorrow you'll perform for myself and a special guest.
Good luck and I'll see you tomorrow.
Thank you.
I like number five.
That's my top.
I'll take four.
All right, Ali.
Ali? - I would like 13.
- Mario.
I really, really, really, really, really, really, really want 13.
When I heard it, I just had this idea I can do this thing spinning around and around and then seeing that line, like, when I'm I was thinking the same thing.
Mario, are you okay with Ali taking that? Uh, no.
I was thinking of doing something really vocally cool right there.
I think it should also be a group piece.
Can I can I talk through it, please? I didn't want her to have the line because I thought that, like, it would be cliche for her to get the "round and around and around" part 'cause she's in a wheelchair.
The backup has already been taken, which was number nine.
Nellie has number nine right now.
- I'll take the first line.
- Perfect.
- That's cool.
- Okay.
It got a little weird when Mario and I were picking lines.
I think that Mario is starting to rub people the wrong way, and it's only week two.
All the people who are interested in actually, like, choreographing it, raise your hand.
I think it should be a group effort.
I think we should pick a leader.
I think we can all come up with ideas.
- A ehoreographer.
- No, no, no, no.
A choreographer who works with other people's ideas.
- Absolutely.
- We just need one person.
- We need one central person.
- You're totally right.
Everybody gonna get a chance to talk.
So all this "wait, I'm talking" is getting on my nerves, quite frankly.
I think we need to just start doing it instead of talking about it.
- Yeah.
People be fighting for the floor.
Everybody gonna get a chance.
Like, it's irritating.
There are 13 people in the house, and I'm very good when I work alone.
I know that I get it done faster, but working with other people, especially the people here, is a little irritating, you know? Yeah! Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
You don't get the beat, wegot the beat.
- Hi, ma.
- Taryn! Nothing.
Miss you.
I'm having, like, just doubts about whether I want to be here or not.
It's hard being in this new situation, and I miss my mother, and just my mind is not in it as it should be.
- I love you.
- Love you.
- Bye, baby.
- Bye.
Hey, guys.
How are you? - Hi.
- Hi, Robert.
Why don't you come gather around? - Hey, guys, Robert's here.
- Guys! So I'm here to let you know that taryn has left the competition, and she will not be returning.
I'm shocked that taryn is leaving the competition.
This is such a huge opportunity for her.
Being in the show and dealing with the competition, as you know, and living in a group like this, is extremely stressful.
And, unfortunately, taryn just wasn't coping well with the pressure, so - I'm really sad I didn't get to say a proper good-bye to taryn 'cause she's a close friend and I think it sucks that she went home.
So we have to figure out what to do with her part in the homework assignment.
So I'd like to ask last week's homework winner, Shanna, to take on her line.
Can you do that? Yeah.
So do you guys think that you can put this behind you and have fun and focus on dance-ability this week? - Oh, yeah.
- Yes, sir.
The competition is just getting harder and harder, and it's heartbreaking to see taryn leave this competition, but I'm confident she's gonna be okay and do great things.
- Hey, Robert! - Hey.
How's everybody doing? Good.
- Good, good.
Well, I can't wait to see what you guys came up with, and I know our special guest is super excited to meet you all.
This person knows very well what it takes to stand out in dance-ability week.
As one of the newest cast members on glee, you'll want to pay close attention to their advice.
I'm gonna die.
Bring him out, bring him out.
Shut up.
Happy to see you.
Samuel Larsen walks through that door.
Strap me down to this chair right now.
He is so hot, especially in person.
So I'm sure you all recognize Samuel Larsen, one of our winners from glee project season one and now playing Joseph hart on glee.
Good to see you guys.
Wow, this is crazy.
Sam, you won this challenge last year.
Any tips for success? I think my biggest advice to you guys would be to be completely confident in yourself.
If you see Michael Jackson onstage stomping his foot, he, like he'll just he'll fricking do it.
You know what I mean? So do that.
Do you, but do it hard.
- You guys ready? - Yeah! - Let's see it.
- Whoo! see the people walking down the street fall in line just watching all their feet they don't know where they wanna go they're walking in time they got the beat they got the beat they got the beat yeah they got the beat all the kids just getting out of school they can't wait to hang out and be cool - hang around till quarter after 12:00 that's when they fall in line they got the beat they got the beat kids got the beat yeah kids got the beat gogo music really makes us dance do the pony puts us in a trance do it will you, just give us a chance that's when we fall in line 'cause we got the beat we got the beat we got the beat yeah we got it we got the beat.
Everybody get on your feet we can make you dance to the beat - jump back and get down.
- Around and around and around Whoo! We got the beat we got the beat we got the beat we got the beat That was incredible.
That may be the best homework assignment we have ever seen.
Yeah, it was really, really good.
Tyler, you are a proper nerd.
I would just completely own it just a little bit more.
Aylin, you were very cute with it, with all the choreography things you would do, your own little moments that weren't necessarily with everyone else.
So that's really, really good.
Thanks.
Abraham, you weren't just dancing with your body and stuff, you were dancing with your entire face.
And you were very intense with it.
- Thank you so much.
- Shanna, I would say you have a sensuality to you in using your whole body to interpret the song.
That's important.
Thank you.
So, Samuel, who are you picking as the homework winner? You guys were great.
I think I have to go with Abraham.
Oh! You just had that extra, extra intensity, and you made me believe it.
I'm really happy that I won this homework assignment, but I just didn't see myself winning it just because there are so many talented contestants here alongside me.
So hopefully I can gain more confidence throughout this.
Congratulations, Abraham.
That means you're gonna have a one-on-one mentoring session with Samuel, as well as a step-out moment in the big group number.
Thank you so much.
- Which is - It is - Yes? Party rock anthemby lmfao.
- Yes! - Whoo! Oh, my God! Party rock! Dude, party rock anthem.
Oh, my God.
This is going to, like, be crazy.
The concept for the big group number is a high-school house party.
Zach is waiting for you.
Good luck, everyone.
Skadoosh.
This week is dance-ability.
Concept of the video is a house party Abraham's house party.
Everyone's there.
You're playing spin the bottle.
- Oh.
- How about that? How about that! According to my turkish Muslim mom, I have never kissed a guy before.
Little does she know, I have kissed many boys.
What we're judging you on will be when we break you into smaller groups, and then your individual eight count, where you're doing your own thing.
Please don't do stupid wedding dance.
What's the wedding dance? Like, you know, "this sure is funny when I do this, and people really laugh when I do that.
" You know what I mean? Go over there.
I'm anxious to see what you got.
Hey! Ho! Ho! Hey! Ho! Ooh, yeah! Ho! As this week's homework assignment winner, I won a one-on-one mentoring session with Samuel Larsen.
What's up, Sam? Good to see you, man.
All right, I want to see you dance.
- Bring it.
- Ready? I love that intensity that you have when you're dancing - Uh-huh.
- But have fun.
Even if you're serious with it you can still be having fun on the inside.
And don't worry, "what am I gonna do next? Oh, my gosh.
There's a camera right there.
Oh, my goodness.
" Follow the song.
Okay, cool.
Samuel's advice struck a nerve with me because I tend to overthink things a lot.
When it comes to dancing, you have to lose control and let the music take over.
- LA, LA, LA, LA.
- I have, like, these really weird dance moves.
I'm making everybody laugh.
I'm making Zach laugh.
And that's kind of what my goal was.
Oh, my God.
Even though he told us not to do that, but we'll see.
So group one Aylin, Charlie, lily, and Abraham.
This week, in choreography, they will each have to do their own little step-out moment.
And then I have them in four small groups, and all they have to do is learn one eight count.
- Go.
Toe-heel, toe-heel, slide out.
- Oh,.
Oh, you're good.
Six, seven.
I've had no formal dance training whatsoever, and these steps are way too fast for me.
Push.
Leave your weight on your left.
- And then you step.
- Use your knees.
Other knee.
I never feel comfortable dancing because I'm transgender, and I'm undergoing testosterone therapy, so my body is changing.
And I'm just getting used to it and how it moves, and I'm still awkward.
All of you have homework practice, 'cause otherwise you'll look just sort of ridiculous.
All right, cut, cut, cut.
Uh, all right.
- That was absolutely horrible.
- Horrible! I mean, hopefully that was just called getting the kinks worked out.
- Hey, how are you doing? - Hi, there.
Are you ready to start off this song? - Oh, yeah.
- Here you go, from the top.
Party rock is in the house tonight Can you turn him up? The theme of this week is dance-ability, and despite that, I am still expecting the contenders to give 100% in the vocal booth.
- Get up get up.
- Get up get down put your hands up to the sound - Little more simple at the end.
- Yep.
Stop going for my wenis.
Why are we having a wenis fight? I have become particularly close with Aylin.
I hate you right now.
She is sexy.
She's got swagger for days.
Talent is attractive to me.
Why are we having a fight? I don't really know, but I have the feeling Charlie has a little crush on me.
He's cute.
I guess I'm just super flirtatious.
But I didn't come here for a romance, I came here to be on glee.
Okay, so talk to me about your house party experience.
I was the girl that had all the parties.
Okay, so you're a wild child, is what you're saying.
Mmhmm.
My strength for this competition is my musicality.
I have classical voice training and musical theater training.
Everybody just have a good time Little overshoot there on the "everybody just" - okay.
Party rock is in the house tonight Whoa, lily.
She struggled even with pitch and timing the basics, which is a surprise, because she is one of our only trained singers.
She has a high range, but she doesn't have as much control up there, like when she tried to do the octave.
I was a little bit disappointed.
Come on in.
So it's dance-ability week, and obviously they're not dancers.
I think the main objective now is to be able to get through a number even if you miss a couple steps but have confidence and make it look like you're having fun.
In the end, we will see if any of them can impress me and who's going to sing for Ryan.
Spin the bottle.
We're gonna get Blake and Shanna.
We got Mario's gonna sit in too.
How do you think the contenders will take spin the bottle? I think it depends on who they spin.
So, Mario, you're gonna say your line, and you're gonna spin the bottle right after your line.
I'm not too excited to be playing spin the bottle.
Like, I don't just kiss people.
Let's roll the sound.
It would have been fun if we were all in the scene though.
Yeah.
I want to be in this! Yeah, right? Where was my call for this? All right, we good? Here we go, and play back.
We party rock let's get it party rock is in the house tonight - Yeah! - Whoo! Yeah! Yeah! I win you! - Ooh! - Oh, my God! Oh, my God! Are you sucking his soul out? - All right.
- All right, let's keep going.
Keep going, keep going.
I'm, like, ying at this point because it's, like, one of the hottest things that has ever happened to me before.
Sorry, mom, but just look at Blake.
It was as though they'd been waiting to do that for days.
Yeah.
- You! - Me? - Yeah, you.
- Me and Blake? Your lipstick's all over your face! We get back to the dressing rooms, and Charlie has a really sad look on his face.
Were you a little disappointed I wasn't there? 'Cause I was a little disappointed.
What kind of question is that? - Whoa! - Whoa! Oh, my God.
All right, not disappointed anymore at all.
Okay, now stop talking.
It's okay, I was into it.
I think my kiss definitely made Charlie's day.
What the hell just happened? What a day.
What kind of day has it been? All right, so you remember? This is your part now.
Yes.
And play back, please.
In the club party rock looking for your girl? She on my jock Cut, cut, cut, cut, cut.
It's too thought-out.
I was really, really nervous just because I had won the homework assignment.
So now there's a lot of pressure on me, and I have to perform.
You get a spotlight.
What are you gonna do with it? Don't try to perform it too much.
- I conceptualize too much.
- Yeah, let me see it again.
Looking for your girl? She on my jock Cut, cut, cut, cut, cut.
Don't think about it.
I see your brain moving.
I don't know if we've had a contender need this many takes ever.
Let's roll it.
Let's roll it.
Where the drink? I gots to know tight jeans, tattoo 'cause I'm rock and roll "Rock and roll" should be, like, when you - rock and roll, huh? - Yeah, yeah.
Dani has one note.
Can she be in a party and look like that energy's different than what her normal, like "hey"? These lines feel real, like, swag.
Right.
And they're, like, real, like, "huh," you know? Dani's so unique and specific, which is wonderful.
And she'd be a great recording artist, but will she be able to be versatile enough to adapt to the glee project and eventually glee? Let's roll it.
Roll it.
Half-black, half-white, domino game the money op-a-Doe Tyler hasn't relaxed yet, which I get it.
Like, you have a whole new body, you have a whole new voice.
You're a completely different person.
But it's, like, up here, you got to let it go, you know? Now we're moving on to the choreography in the video, and they've had plenty of time to practice, so I'm excited to see what they've done.
All right, good luck.
Play back.
Everybody just have a good time I don't know what they were doing.
They are nuts.
Sing! What's wrong with these people? I don't know.
Wow.
Yikes.
- They know nothing.
- Yikes.
They look the best.
That was the best.
Hey, shut it.
That was absolutely horrible.
Horrible.
I mean, horrible.
Did anyone rehearse? Yes.
Well, hopefully that was just called getting the kinks worked out.
It's pretty upsetting to hear Zach tell us that this is awful because I felt like we were all doing a fine job.
From what I saw, Nellie didn't connect with the camera.
Abraham, you were off.
Tyler did not sing or connect to the camera.
Group three, when y'all come out for your bit, don't do what you were supposed to be rehearsing 'cause it's not even usable.
Do something that looks like you're having fun.
Got it? It's very, very disappointing, especially since we knew we could all do it.
Let's do it again.
We're talking too much.
Okay, stand by, guys.
Here we go.
Watching them do their group choreography was almost as if everyone got amnesia at the same time.
Tyler has no confidence in the way he moves.
Abraham keeps forgetting his lip-synch.
Sing! I don't understand what Dani or Nellie practiced at all.
We're just gonna play the track.
Keep your energy crazy, and just keep using this.
Good luck.
Now it's time for their freestyle moment as opposed to the group choreography.
And at this point, I think standing would be better.
Party rock is in the house tonight everybody just have a good time All right, cut, cut.
Cut, cut, cut.
Uh, all right.
Aylin, change it up.
Don't do that every time.
Everyone, you all need to step it up.
Change something.
Overall, the whole group is sort of just a mess.
There's this bit where they're doing Over and over.
That's all they're doing.
Lily keeps doing her wedding dance booby-shaker thing.
There are a couple of people that stepped up to the plate after we gave them that initial note.
Blake and Michael made it look the easiest and the most together.
In the end, some of the contenders, of course, did better than the others.
I know Erik will have to struggle to find the good shots, but I know he'll make it work.
And marker.
Here we go.
And cue play back, please.
Yay! Party rock yeah party rock is in the house tonight everybody just have a good time and we gonna make you lose your mind we just want to see you.
Shake that in the club party rock looking for your girl? She on my jock nonstop when we in the spot Booty moving weight like she on the block where the drink? I gots to know tight jeans, tattoo 'cause I'm rock and roll, huh half-black, half-white, domino game the money op-a-Doe yo, I'm combing through my hair like stamos I got that devilish flow rock and roll no halo - we party rock.
- Yeah, that's the crew that I'm repping on the rise to the top no led in our zeppelin let's get it party rock is in the house tonight everybody just have a good time and we gonna make you lose your mind everybody just have a good time party rock is in the house tonight everybody just have a good time and we gonna make you lose your mind we just want to see you.
Shake that - shuffling shuffling.
- Get up get down put your hands up to the sound get up get down put your hands up to the sound get up get down put your hands up to the sound put your hands up to the sound put your hands up to the sound get up, get up, get up, get up get up, get up, get up, get up get up, put your hands up to the sound to the sound put your hands up put your hands up put your hands up put your hands up party rock is in the house tonight everybody just have a good time and we gonna make you lose your mind everybody just have a good, good, good time whoa - put your hands up.
whoa - whoa.
- Put your hands up every day I'm shuffling - all right, everybody, today that is a wrap.
Give yourselves a round of applause.
Usually we have such a hard time choosing who's gonna be in the bottom three.
And now it's picking, like, "well, who sucked the least?" This week was all about dance-ability.
Well, it's been a roller coaster of a week.
We had our best homework assignment performance of all time and our worst music video shoot of all time.
It was an absolute catastrophe.
I was shocked.
Usually we have such a hard time choosing who's gonna be in the bottom three.
And now it's picking, like, "well, who sucked the least?" However, that being said, there were some standouts, this week, whose hard work really did pay off.
Aylin, the girl we fell in love with at the beginning is back.
So, Aylin, Shanna, Blake, and Michael You guys are called back for next week.
Aylin does her little happy dance.
I feel like it is a little bit inconsiderate.
You know, we're all still awaiting our fate.
Thanks, guys.
She's rubbing me the wrong way.
Ali Charlie and Mario You're also called back this week.
Oh, my God.
Oh, my God, thank you.
Oh, my God.
With it being such a visual week, being safe has me on cloud nine times nine.
Unfortunately, it's time for us to name the bottom three contenders, who will do last-chance performances for Ryan.
Dani and Nellie, I completely don't understand what happened.
We rehearsed it a lot.
We had it down.
And that's what was so frustrating.
We felt like we had it, you know? And then the second it was, like, rolling, it, like, completely fell apart.
I understand what you're saying, but that is part of what this show is.
Even if you have no idea what your body's doing, this is the most important thing that we have.
And, Dani, I think your fault in the video challenge was when everyone else around you was up at a 12, it almost looked like you were at a house party waiting for your ride.
You know what I mean? Like, "hey.
" You just have to learn to adapt and to be different characters, at least in the videos.
Tyler, you're in the whole transitional point in your life, and now you're in this very isolated competition.
We all love you.
And I know that you're a performer.
It's there.
And I don't know how else to yank it out of you.
Lily, for you, your and Aylin's note was sort of the same thing.
Like, y'all are sort of like that "the girl dancing in the club" thing.
You know what I mean? That's confusing to me because I guess I thought that I was doing it and I never got a note saying otherwise.
When we're sitting there saying to the group, "I need you guys to switch it up and try things.
" I know.
And also, I guess, camera-wise, doing the same thing every time, like, take-wise - couple of things continuity is extremely important.
You must have - right and - hold on, hold on.
These were solo moments.
We do have freedom, this being a music video.
I kind of feel like you're reaching for all these different things right now.
No, I understand now.
I understand.
Abraham, you had a lot of weight on your shoulders in this video, and it just seemed to not happen.
You know what I mean? Um, I think I felt a lot of pressure at first, and I always try so hard to be perfect.
You are a great dancer, but I think you might need to learn to be looser, freer.
You have to let yourself be more open, like you are now.
You have to stop trying so hard.
Abraham Nellie your on the callback list.
You're safe.
Thank you.
Oh, my God.
Being safe was just such a good feeling.
Now all I have to do is take these lessons and believe in myself.
Dani, Tyler, and lily, you three are performing for Ryan tonight, and then Ryan will decide who's called back for next week and who goes home.
Okay, Dani, your song is landslideby fleetwood Mac.
Cool.
I'm gonna bring it.
- I guess you know it? - Yeah.
I mean, I don't know every last word of it, but I will.
Tyler, your song isDanielby Elton John.
Thank you, thank you.
Lily, your song is man! I feel like a woman! By Shania twain.
All right, okay.
I know it.
I know the chorus.
I will learn it.
Okay, so you have two hours to rehearse.
- Thank you.
- Good luck.
Thank you, good luck.
Being in the bottom three again sucks.
I left last week with Ryan telling me that he doesn't think I'm as talented as the rest of the contenders.
But I'm taking comfort in the fact that I love Elton John, and his songs fit my voice very well.
- No.
you're a star.
- "Color my hair.
Do what I dare.
" Not what I thought these words were.
I've never watched a show and seen a big girl be the lead, be the ingenue, be the sexy character.
I think I'd be a great role model for really anybody that's self-conscious about their looks.
I'm gonna put all my power, all my ability, all my talent, all my confidence into this song.
"Really go wild.
Doing it in style.
" I took my love and I took it down This song is so emotional for me.
It is speaking to, I mean, exactly how I feel in this moment.
I climbed a Mountain and I turned around It couldn't be more appropriate for what I'm feeling right now, so I hope I do it justice tonight.
You're doing that in your life.
Why aren't you doing that on this show? Do you cut someone because their attitude sucks? Tyler's laugh is really endearing.
'Cause I have thunder thighs.
It's sort of like a cross between a a goat being scorched with a flamethrower and spongebob.
Kind of, sort of.
Like a troll on helium.
Pizza.
I've always been told I have a unique laugh.
That's not that's, like, not even not even a question.
So this is dance-ability week.
Compared to last season, it was an absolute catastrophe.
We had to actually make them stop trying to do the choreography and just stand there 'cause you couldn't even shoot it.
I saw the footage from the video shoot.
- The lip-synch - The lip-synch was hideous.
Oh, the lip-synch was bad? - Really bad.
- Like "not usable" bad? Wow, okay.
Well, let's start here.
Who's first? Dani.
She is the coolest performer she's a real artist but the second that she has to adapt to any situation, she's pretty dead.
Okay.
- Llo.
- Hello.
I'm Dani, and I'll be singing landslide today.
I took my love and I took it down I climbed a Mountain and I turned around and I saw my reflection in the snow-covered hills but the landslide brought me down oh mirror in the sky what is love? And can the child in my heart rise above? So if you see my reflection in the snow-covered hills well maybe the landslide will bring you down - Are you having a moment? - I am having a moment.
I've been having a moment for the last two hours.
I think that your talent is without dispute.
You're a very soulful person.
One of my dreams is to be a new voice for this generation, to touch people so deeply.
And I'm learning how to do that, you know? Like, I know I can write, I know I can sing from the heart, I know I can do these things.
The thing that I think is your dilemma is I think you're an artist, but I don't know if you're a performer in the way that the show needs performing.
But I think you can really bloom if you just sold it a little bit more vividly because I can tell you want to.
Yes, I do.
I want to take the challenge if you'll let me.
- Thank you very much.
- Thank you.
Bye, guys.
- Bye.
- Thanks.
There's no disputing she's fantastic, but she's not in the Broadway pop style of what the show is.
Next is Tyler, and Tyler actually did much better in everything until he got to the dance moment.
Okay.
Hi, my name is Tyler, and I'll be singingDanielby Elton John.
Do it.
Daniel is travelling tonight on a plane I can see the red taillights heading to Spain oh and I can see Daniel waving good-bye God it looks like Daniel must be the clouds in my eyes oh God it looks like Daniel must be the clouds in my eyes Thank you.
Very nice.
This week, I thought you came up, like, 3,000%.
Thank you.
This week was dance week.
- Yeah.
- How was your dancing? Oh, no, was it that bad? Why do you think you're here? Because I didn't let go enough.
And, like, trying making a conscious effort to not make a conscious effort, if you know what I mean.
You're a very brave person, and what you're doing in your personal life is incredibly brave.
You're doing that in your life, why aren't you doing that on this show? I think you really need to think about that.
- Okay.
- Just take it week by week.
And think of the people who will be inspired by you because those kids need role models.
Okay, thanks.
Thank you very much.
You can tell that he's figuring out everything during the run of the show.
I also think he didn't even try to hit a note.
He's all about safety He's very safe.
And covering it up and being cautious.
And he needs to not be that, or he's off.
Next is lily.
She did great in the homework assignment, and then she got to the dance portion.
All of us expected a lot more from her.
All right, let's bring her out.
My name's lily mae harrington, and I will be singing man! I feel like a woman! By Shania twain.
Come on, girls.
I'm going out tonight I'm feeling all right I'm gonna let it all hang out wanna make some noise really raise my voice yeah I wanna scream and shout Ahh.
The best thing about being a woman is the prerogative to have a little fun and oh oh oh really go crazy forget I'm a lady men's shirts short skirts oh oh oh really go wild and doing it in style oh oh oh color my hair do what I dare oh oh oh I want to be free to feel the way I feel Man I feel like a woman yes, you do.
The old lily is back.
I've never seen a contestant flirt with the band before, so good on you for that.
Thank you.
So what happened to you this week? Well, last week wasn't my strongest either, but Zach gave me a note back in the studio, and then when we got in the shoot, I continued to do that.
And then corrected him.
- Corrected him earlier today? - Yeah.
I don't know if I'd say "corrected him," but, um, it's hard for me to accept defeat.
I felt confident.
And then coming here today and hearing what I thought was me being me wasn't okay.
Hold on, now.
You knew we said, "don't do the wedding move.
" Listening is hard, especially when you're being critiqued.
If you're always thinking about the next quip that you're gonna throw out, you're not hearing anything that's being said.
I think it's bad to be, this early on in a competition, fighting with people that are rooting for you and will determine your fate.
Do you have a history of that? With my high-school chorus teacher I did.
- You did? Yike.
- But - well, I'm the high-school chorus teacher of this world, so that doesn't make me feel very good.
And how would you adjust if you came back? I will take everything that you said, and I will do it.
Okay.
Thank you very much.
Thank you.
Pick up your clothes and leave.
It's a little unnerving to hear of her constant fighting and tribulations, and do you cut someone because their attitude sucks? I was trying to defend myself, and I kind of just dug myself a hole.
You know, it's not just the performance that they take into account, which is what is scary.
Dani.
To me the drawbacks are I don't know if she is the show.
I don't think she will ever be perky.
I mean, that's just not her.
And you don't want her to be, but you still have to be believable in different situations.
That's very hard, especially for someone like her.
I want so badly to take what they've said and apply it and then see where I'm at, you know? Tyler sort of has a very inspirational story.
He did improve vocally.
He does have a long way to go.
I don't think you can ever say, like, "I feel safe.
" 'Cause, like, if you're in the bottom three, there's always a chance, but, like, I feel confident in myself.
To me, sadly, this is the person who should go.
Just don't think they're gonna, you know, be in for the long haul.
Being here just these two weeks has opened my eyes to see a lot of different things in the world.
I just want you to know how much I really do care about every single one of you.
Hi, everybody.
I'm so sorry, but the list is up, so go take a look.
I've learned so much being here, and what if I go home on the second week? I don't even want to think about that.
I don't want to walk up to that list.
I don't want to see my name on there, I don't want to see Tyler's name on there.
I don't want to see Dani's name on there.
I wish we could all stay.
It's definitely nerve-wracking walking up to the list.
My stomach is all in knots and like, "oh, God, oh, God, what's gonna happen?" Yes! Yes! ah ah ah ah.
- I really, really wanted this so bad.
From the glee project, I will take what I hope to be some lifelong friends.
I will take the advice of four wonderful mentors, and I'll take this as a huge learning experience.
And I'll hopefully grow a lot from it.
ah ah ba ba ba ba ba ba ba ba ba ba ba ba ba ba ba ah ah there's nothing you can say there's nothing you can do there's no other way when it comes to the truth so keep holding on 'cause you know I'll make it through make it through The theme for this week is vulnerability.
Oh, God.
This is gonna be deep.
Wait, wait, wait.
Cut! They would, um, taunt me and say, "she's a crack baby.
" My competitive edge is definitely arising.
Oh my God! This is not just a competition, this is also a bootcamp and just so there is no confusion here, not one of you is ready yet.
