The Glee Project (2011) s02e08 Episode Script

Tenacity

1 So, here's what you missed on The Glee Project The contenders got to live out their rock star fantasies, but it wasn't exactly a dream come true for everyone.
Shanna's meat dress was no picnic I'm about to throw up.
But even that couldn't land her in the bottom three.
Michael struggled with being too in his head.
That was terrible.
But Blake, his best friend and biggest competition, was flawless.
Well, that was passionate.
Yet again.
Aylin and Lily are still getting on each other's nerves.
I'm just not getting along with Aylin.
But that's not moving.
Abraham wants everyone to like him.
You're an awesome person.
You really like to suck up.
In the end, Nellie was the one.
Who couldn't convince the mentors.
That she was the one And was sent home.
Now seven contenders remain.
To compete for a guest-starring role on Glee, and that's all you need to know so far on I just really want Robert to come in.
So that we can find out the homework assignment.
I'm so pumped because we're so close.
At this point in the competition, I want this bad, just knowing how far I've come and how hard I've worked.
This means more to me than anything.
It's almost near the end.
I think that's the important thing now, is that, like, everything matters.
Yes.
It's actually getting to that, like, heated competition point.
There's only six more people I've got to beat to win.
- Oh, yay.
- Let's go! Finally.
- Wait, is this it? - Yup.
- Yup.
- Seven.
Getting smaller and smaller.
Congratulations to you for making it this far.
I know it has not been easy.
You should all feel really proud of yourselves.
Throughout this competition, I've grown so much, and it would be the worst thing I want it so bad.
The theme of this week.
Is something that you've all demonstrated.
By making it this far, but you're gonna need to show a lot more of it.
To make it all the way.
The theme of the week is Tenacity.
I think at this point, you can tell me what tenacity is.
What do you guys think it is? Being tenacious means, like, when an obstacle comes your way, like, looking at it as an opportunity and using it.
Because of my wheelchair, I grew up in a house.
Where the theme was never give up.
So tenacity is a very familiar word to me.
Tenacity is what you need to continually push you ahead, that persistence and that drive.
Your homework assignment this week.
Is a song which embodies this idea.
Your homework assignment this week is Survivor by destiny's child.
We can all relate to this song.
At this point in the competition, and I think this is the perfect song for tenacity.
And as usual, you guys will decide.
Who sings which part.
And figure out the choreography.
Tomorrow, you'll perform for me.
And another incredible guest from Glee, so I really look forward to seeing this, and I'll see you soon.
- Thank you.
- Thank you so much.
Honestly, all these lines are awesome.
- I'll do two.
- I think, I want, um, six.
I think I'm an embodiment of tenacity in a lot of ways.
Like, I was supposed to be a lawyer.
Until I decided to be Abraham, the performer.
I gave up a lot to be here.
Do you guys want to just jam? Jamming on the last one, the like, I'm a Would be amazing.
I've been tenacious since I was, like, five years old.
And didn't even know what the meaning was.
Because my mom was involved in drugs, so this week is, uh, I just I am so ready for this week.
I'm a survivor I'm gonna make it I will survive keep on survivin' Oh, whoa, that ending got a little confusing - Got a little flat too.
- I forgot the words.
'Cause the tenacity, we can bring it up to an 11.
Oh yeah, tenacity, we bring it up.
- Hey.
- Hi.
So how's everyone doing? Feeling tenacious this morning? Oh, yeah.
I hope you really are ready to bring it.
Because we have a guest today.
Who has some personal experience with this song.
- Yes.
- Yes, yes, yes.
Oh, my God.
So as you can see, this is the incredible Amber Riley, who plays Mercedes on Glee.
- Hi, guys, how you doin'? - Good, how are you? The guest mentor is Amber Riley, and I am so excited to have another woman.
Who can belt to Jesus walk in the door.
I'm just so excited to belt for her.
Speaking of tenacity, Amber is standing here today.
With stress fractures in both feet.
I think, we've done, like, three or four numbers in heels, and that's kind of how I got the stress fractures, you know, kind of pushing through the pain.
That just shows she is the epitome of tenacity.
- Thank you.
- It's true.
So your homework assignment was survivor by destiny's child, which is a little intimidating because Amber sang it on Glee, so no pressure.
None at all.
I wanna see that tenacity.
I wanna see that strength.
I wanna see that attitude when you guys do it, so let's get to it.
now that you're out of my life I'm so much better you thought that I'd be weak without you but I'm stronger you thought that I'd be broke without you but I'm richer you thought that I'd be sad without you I laugh harder you thought I wouldn't grow without you now I'm wiser thought that I'd be helpless without you now I'm smarter you thought that I'd be stressed without you but I'm chillin' you thought I wouldn't sell without you sold nine million I'm a survivor I'm not gonna give up I'm not gonna stop I'm gonna work harder I'm a survivor I'm gonna make it I will survive keep on survivin' thought I couldn't breathe without you I'm inhaling you thought I couldn't see without you perfect vision you thought I couldn't last without you but I'm lastin' you thought that I would die without you but I'm livin' thought that I would fail without you but I'm on top thought this would be over by now but I won't stop thought that I would self-destruct but I'm still here even in my years to come I'm still gonna be here I'm a survivor I'm not gonna give up I'm not gonna stop I'm gonna work harder I'm a survivor I'm gonna make it I will survive keep on survivin' I'm a survivor I'm not gonna give up I'm not gonna stop I'm gonna work harder I'm a survivor I'm gonna make it I will survive keep on survivin' Great job, you guys.
Yes.
I think all of you guys did an excellent job.
I wanted to get up there and dance with you guys.
Oh, Abraham, I loved the diva, but you have to remember.
Sometimes you're playing a character too.
I wanted to see a little bit more vivaciousness.
Lily, you have a great voice, but I didn't really feel that you connected with that song.
You have to make that connection between what you do physically.
And the inside.
So Aylin, I thought that you did a wonderful job.
You sound great.
I really, really, uh, love your voice.
I love your voice a lot.
Thank you.
Ali, you were moving, almost more than everyone else, and I felt like you really, really, really went for it.
Thank you.
So Amber, who are you going to pick as the winner? This was really hard.
I thought all of you guys did an excellent job, but the person that I think.
Personified tenacity.
Was Ali.
Oh, my God.
Thank you.
I'm on a winning streak.
I'm really, like, you know, picking up my pace.
At the end of this competition.
Two in a row, Al.
I wanted to win the homework assignment, and it sucks, 'cause I think I deserved to win this one.
So Ali, congratulations.
That means you'll have.
A one-on-one mentoring session with Amber.
As well as a step-out moment.
In the big group number, which is Eye of the tigerby survivor.
- Oh, no! - Yes! - Yes! - That's awesome! It's going to be an amazing piece, but it's going to require.
A lot of tenacity from you guys to pull it off.
The entire music video is going to be one single shot.
You will have to complete.
A physically-challenging obstacle course set in a gym.
If anyone of you messes up your part, you'll all have to start over from the beginning.
If we end up doing this video shoot for, like, 12 hours, I will hate the bitch that keeps messing up.
Good luck, and Ali, I'm looking forward.
To spending some time with you.
There's no choreography session this week, so I'll see you at the shoot.
This song does not really live.
In any of the contenders' vocal range, and they're really gonna have to prove.
That they can bring power on these lines, even if it's somewhere way out of their range.
Hi.
Hi.
Let's get down to business.
Just a girl and her will to survive In the studio today, these contenders are gonna have to be tenacious.
And reach places that they probably.
Would never otherwise have to.
You trade your passion for glory Yeah, yeah, I like that.
Went the distance now I'm back on my feet It's just that, di just that one.
- Di - yeah.
Went the di Went the di went the distance, now I'm back on my feet All right, let's do it.
Went the distance, now I'm back on my feet - That'll work.
- Thank you.
Don't lose your grip on the dreams of the past Okay.
Once again, great.
What can I say? Thank you.
Like, risin' up risin' up yeah.
Yeah.
Go get it.
I love it, I love it.
Risin' up, back on the street That is some serious business.
Nice.
I love working with Blake.
He's open and willing to try, and that's one of the biggest things.
To being in the studio.
He's the one to beat for the guys.
Picture yourself with boxing gloves on.
It really helps.
Did my time, took my chances Is it pitchy on "chances"? Yep.
I definitely struggle in the studio consistently, so I really got to step it up this week.
And push myself really hard.
Blake was able to hit it.
Yeah.
Well, let's do this.
Just, like, hard to the end.
Risin' up, back on the streets did my time, took my chances I think we have what we need.
- Okay.
- This line for sure.
Thanks.
- Hi, guys.
- Hey.
Are you ready for groups? - Yes.
- Okay.
and he's watching us all with the eye of the tiger Lily.
Lily.
She's really loud.
Sorry.
What Aylin said really struck a nerve, 'cause it's been a big insecurity of mine.
I have, uh, a amazing, huge, booming voice, which is great, but when you get into group, it's hard.
Are you ready to go for it again? Yeah.
- Okay, go after it.
And he's watching us all with the eye Lily, back up a little bit, 'cause I can only hear you on the - Sorry.
- Look how red Lily is.
The only thing that was distracting in the booth.
Was just hearing Lily's voice and only Lily's voice.
She's pretty loud.
We just gotta nail one and then you're done.
Up next - Why can't I get it? - What the hell? If you mess up, you keep going.
Don't worry about anything.
Stop thinking about it.
Just believe it in here and believe it in here.
Come on, please.
Welcome, welcome.
Nikki just called and said.
She's really sorry she can't be here, but she has to do recording on Glee today.
Mmhmm.
This week's theme is tenacity, and this is probably gonna be.
The most difficult shoot for the contenders so far.
They have to do this extremely challenging obstacle course, and they have to do it in one take, and if they screw up, they start from the beginning.
Everyone walks in.
Blake, you take control.
Now camera's following Blake.
Michael, you're getting in position.
I'm running up bleachers, singing my line with a basketball in my hand.
Michael, jump through the hoop.
That's when you see me jumping across 12 tires.
Camera will come back to Aylin singing her line.
Aylin passes a ball to Lily.
Lily has to take the ball and throw it to me.
I have to hit the ball with a bat.
Eh.
Blake, you should be back over here.
Leave your clothes right there and just keep going.
I have to wheelbarrow Blake, which is extremely difficult for both of us.
All right, let me see you guys double-Dutch.
Singing your lines, always singing your lines.
If you guys do not sing your lines, we will stop and we will restart.
It's the eye of the tiger it's the thrill of the fight.
Now, Ali, you're gonna slalom through the cones.
Meanwhile, everyone's sprinting around and out.
Through the door that's out of frame.
And coming in this door.
As Ali throws the bottles of water - Sorry.
Catch, and you head out.
Now we're following Ali.
You guys are already getting into your pyramid.
and he's watching us all with the eye Collapse the pyramid.
Ali comes in the middle, sings her final line, takes the basketball.
And throws it over her shoulder into the hoop, and we will all go home, right? Yes.
It's all in one shot, and on top of that, having to lip-synch? Fun.
No, okay.
I'll get it, I'll get it, I'll get it.
I'm nervous because I'm not a great shooter, but I need to remember my mentoring session with Amber.
Tenacity for me has had to be, like, emotionally and physically, just like from my injury.
Well, I was hurt when I was two, so like, I, like, had to do, like, physical therapy and things.
When I was, like, three and four years old.
And that same drive.
That you had to go through the physical therapy.
Puts you in a great position for tenacity.
You are what tenacity is, and you have to work a little harder than most people do.
And I think you should use that.
I will, thank you.
We'll start from the top.
I think my only notes for all of them.
Would be "good" and "luck.
" Yeah.
Let's do it.
Tenacity, stay focused.
Take one.
Yeah.
Risin' up, back on the street did my time, took my chances - Cut.
- Hey! Cut, cut! That one hurt.
Just a little high on that one, Blake.
The one that's gonna be exhausted is Blake.
- My bad, dude.
- You got it.
Blake's, like, my best friend here, but this is a competition, so I'm gonna think, "what would Blake do?" And then I'm gonna think, "I'ma do that way better.
" Now we're on take two.
risin' up, back on the street Yeah! Did my time, took my chances went the distance To camera, to camera.
Aylin, right to camera.
Nice, nice, nice.
So many times, it happens too fast you trade your passion for glory Nice, nice.
I love it, love it.
Don't lose your grip on the dreams of the past you must fight just to keep them alive - Now, get it.
- Oh.
All right, cut, cut, cut, cut, cut.
Lily mae, you just needed a hair more time, right? I can't get my pants off and all I can think about is, "okay, this is gonna put me in the bottom three.
" - Can you help Lily? - Strip? - Yeah.
- Yeah.
Lily? I'm wondering if, like, you lay down and let her strip you.
Okay, and I can do the top? I'm trying not to make a big deal.
Out of what Aylin said about my voice, but, like, the person I don't wanna talk to right now has to help me.
Great.
From the top, we're on take three.
- it's the eye of the tiger - sing it, sing it.
It's the thrill of the fight Sing to camera.
Come on.
- Who's not singing? - Lily.
Cut.
They need to keep singing.
Take five.
Keep singing.
Sing it.
Stay focused, stay focused.
Eye of the tiger Cut.
Camera's here.
- With the eye - to camera, to camera and sing.
- Of the tiger - cut, cut.
The jump roping section is just falling apart.
They are messing up the lip-synching, and it's just so frustrating.
Take nine.
The jump roping section is really hard.
Because it's so hard to be on the same page as three people.
And then sing to a camera.
Take 11.
Aylin, sing, sing.
Come on, Abraham.
Of the cut cut, cut.
Eye of the cut! What the hell? Abraham, you were losing focus.
You weren't singing the chorus.
You were you were lost.
So let's go again.
It's that group of jump ropers that no one's taking control.
They literally go like this.
They just looked defeated.
Mmhmm.
And that can't be what the video is.
Everyone's starting to really feel it.
It's 2 1/2 minute takes, which doesn't sound like a lot.
But when you have to do it perfectly every time, it kinda adds up.
Do you wanna try to go single? Let's try single really quick.
It's the eye of the tiger it's the thrill of the fight Yeah, all right, all right, all right, all right.
From the top.
Let's get it.
This is the one, this is the one.
Get to that rope.
Let's do it, guys.
Let's do it.
It's the eye of the tiger - Come on, y'all.
- the thrill of the fight risin' up to the challenge of our rival Sing.
And the last known survivor stalks his prey in the night Yeah, yeah, that's how you do it.
And he's watching us all with the eye of the tiger that's great.
Great.
Come on, Ali.
Face to face, out in the heat You got it oh.
There you go.
It's the eye of the tiger Aah! - Cut.
- Are you okay? - Cut, cut, cut.
- What happened? Hey.
- What? - Here.
Dude, you all right? - I'm fine.
I'm fine.
- What happened? What'd you? Oh, I just fell on, like, the bump.
I'm fine.
Are you sure? Yeah.
I twist my left ankle and I got hurt, but Where there's a will, there's a way, baby.
Like, if that's not tenacity, then you tell me.
Let's go, guys.
Lucky 13.
Lucky 13.
Take 16.
Take 18.
20! Cut, cut.
Take 22.
Let's go! Let's go! Cut.
Sing it.
Cut.
Sing it.
Stay focused.
Take 25.
Oh, my God.
- Yeah, let's see it.
- eye of the tiger Oh! So good.
Oh! Ali, that was so close.
Oh.
I feel like I'm about to pass out.
My knees are quivering.
- Are you ready? - Yeah.
But I just want this so bad.
That I'm willing to do whatever I have to do.
To get the job done.
- Abraham, how do you feel? - I'm good.
- You good? - Yeah, I'm gonna keep going.
But I was just wondering if I could get an ice pack, but I'll be fine.
- Yeah.
- But I'm good though.
We are all in pain, and I think Abraham worrying about playing up his ankle.
Is what is messing him up today.
That was rude but true.
All right, take 26.
Yeah.
Come on! The eye of the tiger Oh.
Cut.
From the top.
I can't get it, and everyone has to start again.
I wanna get it right, for everyone and for myself.
Come on, baby! Let's go! Let's get it! Let's get it this time, baby! Come on! This is it! The eye of the tiger Oh! Oh, my gosh! So close! Almost.
Oh! Can they lift my chair up and I can dunk it? All right, you guys, start liftin' up.
- Okay.
- Ali is amazing.
Like, nothing gets in Ali's way.
Nothing.
Nothing.
Why can't I get it? I wanna get it.
- No, you're going to.
- I wanna get it! Al.
Ali, Ali, Ali.
You're going to get it.
Come on, please.
Don't worry about anything.
Stop thinking about it.
Just believe it in here and believe in here.
Everything's gonna be fine, okay? Here we go.
And cue playback, please.
risin' up, back on the street did my time, took my chances went the distance, now I'm back on my feet just a girl and her will to survive so many times, it happens too fast you trade your passion for glory don't lose your grip on the dreams of the past you must fight just to keep them alive it's the eye of the tiger it's the thrill of the fight risin' up to the challenge of our rival and the last known survivor stalks his prey in the night and he's watching us all with the eye of the tiger face to face, out in the heat hangin' tough, stayin' hungry they stack the odds, still we take to the street for the kill with the skill to survive it's the eye of the tiger it's the thrill of the fight risin' up to the challenge of our rival and the last known survivor stalks his prey in the night and he's watching us all with the eye it's the eye of the tiger it's the thrill of the fight risin' up to the challenge of our rival and the last known survivor stalks his prey in the night and he's watching us all with the eye of the tiger the eye of the tiger the eye of the tiger That is a wrap.
Yes! - Nice, nice.
- Yes! Up next It was you that really held up the shoot.
It was truly this moment of You looked defeated, like you just sort of gave up on it.
It's that time again, I'm afraid.
Three of you.
Will be doing last-chance performances for Ryan tonight.
So he can decide who will be called back.
And who will leave the competition.
This week was all about tenacity, and I have to say, as a group, again, you wowed us.
You did 34 takes.
It was remarkably tenacious.
Eric said that that was the most challenging video shoot.
That we've ever had on the Glee project.
Who's in pain? Yeah.
As a team, it was just incredible.
And I I'm so sorry I couldn't be there, but I did see some of the video, and I gotta say, you guys are gonna be so pleased.
Ali, you won the homework assignment.
You just had an amazing week overall.
Thank you.
Shanna, in the video shoot, you showed tenacity on so many levels.
Thank you.
There's someone else who also did well.
In the homework assignment, killed it in the studio, and on the shoot, completed the most physically demanding role.
Perfectly for 34 takes.
Blake.
Oh, man.
Congratulations.
You all three showed true tenacity this week, and you're all called back.
- Thank you.
- Congratulations.
Thank you.
I am so excited.
I'm so close to being on Glee right now, I can taste it.
So Aylin, Michael, Abraham, and Lily.
That means that three of you four.
Will be performing for Ryan tonight.
It was the four of you that really held up the shoot.
The jump rope section was an utter failure.
It was truly this moment of, you guys looked defeated, like you just sort of gave up on it, you know what I mean? You disagree, Michael? Uh, no.
That's just unfortunate.
That's definitely not the attitude.
That I went into it with.
Well, in the studio, Michael, you struggled the most out of all of the contenders.
Yeah, I mean, I definitely felt that, like, I was going in with lower energy.
Yeah.
Just 'cause that's how I thought.
The song would flow, and I felt like I brought it up.
Yeah, you did.
It just took a really long time.
Abraham, in the recording studio, you had a hard time finding the note.
In the video, the majority of the takes, it literally just became flat.
Lily, when you watch yourself on video, you're gonna be so happy.
Because I think you have moments that you popped.
More than you ever have.
Lily, despite that, you really need to learn to blend your voice.
With the rest of the group.
Aylin, I was waiting for you.
To hit one those hurdles over.
34 takes, did you even knock one over? - No.
- That's pretty That's pretty impressive.
It really, really is.
Thank you.
However, Aylin, during the video shoot, you seemed to lose your focus, and that's something you need to work on.
Michael, I'm sorry, but you will be performing for Ryan tonight.
Abraham, you will also be doing.
A last-chance performance tonight.
Aylin, Lily, we went back over the two of you for quite some time.
And Aylin, you're called back for next week.
They call Aylin's name.
It hurt.
Thank you.
Oh.
I didn't get the job done, and there are no excuses.
And I just want to get my song and get going.
You three are in this competition 'cause you're all amazing, amazing performers, so view this today.
As another opportunity to perform for Ryan, because this was really hard.
Okay, so let's talk about.
What you're gonna sing for Ryan.
Lily, your song is I'm the greatest star.
From the musical funny girl Oh.
Made famous by Barbra Streisand.
I don't know all those words, but let's go.
Let's do it.
Michael, your song isbrick by Ben folds five.
I'm excited.
Abraham, your song isman in the mirror.
By Michael Jackson.
I know the song.
It's it's challenging.
It's, like, the king of pop.
And Abraham, when you come out here for Ryan tonight, he's asked us that you try to be yourself.
And not kiss up to him.
Okay.
You have two hours to rehearse.
Good luck, guys.
Brick.
"6:00 A.
M.
, day after Christmas, I throw some clothes on in the dark.
" I really don't want to do a last-chance performance, and it sucks, but I'll just own it.
And give it my all and do my best.
Wow, this is a lot of words.
I don't know these words at all.
It's gonna be a long road.
If cheer each toot hey, I heard it's terrific I'm gonna make a change for once in my This is my third time in the bottom, and it's definitely hitting home for me, like, emotionally.
I didn't want to be here today, but I'm not gonna go down without a fight.
It's now or never.
The man knows They'll cheer each toot Hey aw,.
You're either gonna win or lose.
Because of whether you came out and sang well.
That's it.
I'm not fricking leaving.
It's ridiculous.
I like this.
The thing Michael has shown us is that.
He's really good with comedy, no more so than when he's putting on a jock.
So guys actually wear jockstraps? Yeah.
If there's no pouch for, like, the cup, they just wear jockstraps to protect themselves.
How do you have a cup without having a jockstrap? For football, there's like a pouch.
Where you put the cup in.
Sobut doesn't a jockstrap have Have to have to cup in it or else, what's the point of wearing a jockstrap? It's like wearing Yeah.
- Just, like, skimpy underwear.
- Mm-hmm.
So the theme this week was tenacity.
The video was intense.
It was the most intense.
It was awesome.
We had to make the decision.
As to who to put in the bottom.
By the four people that had a problem.
With this jump roping section.
And so then, we just had to analyze their entire week, and ultimately, it was Abraham, Michael, and Lily that ended up in the bottom three.
The first person up is Michael.
He had a problem in the recording session.
- Is he a good singer? - He's a good singer.
But when you compare him to who's left in the competition, they're a powerhouse.
He's not as good as Blake? No.
Okay, well, let's bring him up.
- Hi.
- Hi.
My name is Michael, and I'm going to singbrick.
By the Ben folds five.
6:00 A.
M.
day after Christmas I throw some clothes on in the dark the smell of cold car seat is freezing the world is sleeping I am numb and now she's feeling more alone than she's ever felt before she's a brick and I'm drowning slowly off the coast and I'm headin' nowhere she's a brick and I'm drowning slowly I'm drowning slowly - Very nice, Michael.
- Thank you, Mr.
Murphy.
It's a really hard song to sing.
It's a beautiful song.
I like what you did with it.
Thank you.
But you have a really hard road.
When you're up against Blake, who I think would never have stumbled.
If he had had a jump rope malfunction.
You have to think about that.
There were a lot people.
In the jump rope fiasco of the week, but you were the one who, I think, took it the worst.
Who cares if you screw up? Be a star.
Smile.
Do something crazy.
Grin.
I mean, you've done that before.
You didn't do it this week, and that's why you're here.
Remember that.
Thanks.
- Thank you very much.
- Thanks, man.
I thought he did a really nice job.
Next is Abraham.
He was not only part of the jump rope debacle, he was suffering from an injured ankle.
Okay, well, let's bring him up.
Hello, my name is Abraham, and I'll be singing.
Man in the mirror by Michael Jackson.
Oh mmm I'm gonna make a change for once in my life it's gonna feel real good gonna make a difference, gonna make it right I'm starting with the man in the mirror I'm asking him to change his ways and no message could have been any clearer if you want to make the world a better place take a look at yourself, gotta make a I'm starting with the man in the mirror oh no message could have been any clearer if you want to make the world a better place take a look at yourself, gotta make a change you gotta get it right when you got the time 'cause if you close your heart then you close your your mind stand up and lift yourself now now Good.
Well, you know, let's just talk about the work, because I think that's the most important thing.
Usually with you, I see a real laser focus.
That I did not see this week at all.
And I don't know if that was because you were injured.
Or because it was difficult, the exercise? A lot of it had to do with, like, my injury.
Okay, well, that's legitimate.
But I felt very I'm not I'm not using this as an excuse, because I I totally understand - Anybody who says, "I'm not using this as an excuse".
Is using it as an excuse.
That's the truth.
I fought through that video.
With what I was working with, I was trying my best, and I did not stop once.
And there were so many times where I wanted to stop.
Okay.
Thank you.
Thank you.
I root for Abraham, and I believe in his talent, but I don't believe in all the other stuff.
That seems to be sort of mucking him up.
Next is Lily.
In the homework, Amber felt Lily didn't connect.
With the emotion of the diva.
And was being a little theatrical.
My name is Lily mae harrington, and I will be singing I'm the greatest star.
From funny girl.
I'm the greatest star I am by far but no one knows it Wait! They're gonna hear a voice a silver flute, ah, ah, ah, ah each time they'll toot I hear it's terrific.
Then I'll expose it see the look to me I'm a natural Camille as Camille, I just feel I've so much to offer They look to me, but can't ya see that I'd be I'm a natural cougher Look to the sky, you'll never see me looking down, you'll never see me fly ta ra ra ra da ba ra pa da ba ba ba ba I'm the greatest greatest star - Lily mae.
- Hello, again.
Thank you for that.
There was a couple moments where you flubbed.
You didn't know all the words, but I still was never taken out of it 'cause you kept in it.
You had a tenacity.
But what would you have done if we had asked you.
To perform that with a jump rope? - Ah! - Um So let's talk about the jump rope.
What happened? I was very frustrated.
At the beginning of the day.
Why? Aylin said a very rude comment to me in the studio.
- Which was? - "Lily's singing so loud,".
Which is a huge insecurity of mine.
So that's something I've worked on really hard.
Well, if you're lucky enough to stay on next week, I guess you gotta go show her a thing or two.
She can't take her own medicine is the problem.
Is that true? - Mm-hmm.
- I love a good duel.
Oh, I didn't want to go here.
- So you were thrown? - Yeah.
You're too good for that.
And I feel tonight you've kind of felt.
That you were good, am I right? I felt I felt good.
Yeah.
You did.
I could tell.
Thank you very much.
Thank you.
So she was amazing.
Sometimes they just come out and blow you away, and I think she got the lesson of the week.
I agree.
I think they all have improved over the last eight weeks.
I think all three of those kids could be onGlee.
We could put them on that show tomorrow.
It's the first week that that has happened, and I think that means.
We're getting down to the nitty gritty.
Oh.
- Hi.
- Hi.
Sorry.
I want to apologize for the performance.
That I gave this week.
It definitely was not my best, and I feel like it was actually my weakest.
Thus far in the video.
Mmhmm.
Ryanand this isn't me kissing your ass.
I will give my blood, sweat, and tears, and you know that too, Ryan.
And I know that you saw that in me.
When you first met me at callbacks.
No, I did.
I'm not freaking leaving.
Until I either win this competition.
Or you write a role for me on Glee.
I hear you, but what got you this week.
Was your using your bravado and your personality.
To overcome the fact that you didn't bring.
The level of performance that you needed to bring.
I thought, when you were walking back out here, that you were going to ask to sing again, that you were going to say, "I was bad.
"I didn't nail it.
"I didn't try hard enough.
I didn't rise to the level of my talent.
" And instead, here you are.
I really don't care about pontification.
And your place in the world.
I get that.
I see that.
What I care about is your talent.
Can you come out and bring it in a crunch? That's it.
All right, thank you, guys.
Thank you.
Abraham's, honestly, been doing great.
I know that this was crazy.
Here's the thing.
I really like Abraham.
Ilike I've told you.
- I do too.
I think he's a very special energy, and even though he did not kill it this week, I could still write for that kid.
I'd be really sad if I left.
I hope I don't.
Okay, Michael.
I thought he was just, you know, charm on a stick with that performance.
It was like, "so you're here because of jump rope.
" If I go home, I'll be really disappointed in myself.
The thing that I worry about is that I don't know.
That he believes that he's worthy of winning.
Compare that with Lily tonight, who just literally ate the stage.
I don't know if I'm going home.
You never know.
Sometimes, positive feedback, the person's out the door.
I think the hard part about this week is, you have to just look at the week, and you have to look at the performance, and you have to just judge them as competitors.
It's a tough choice, but I think we've made our decision.
- Yes.
- I do too.
So okay, guys, the list is up, so go take a look.
Yep.
You got it.
I love you all.
I really hope I don't go home.
There's more for me to do here, and I sincerely hope that I can stay.
There's a part of me that feels like I'm going home.
There's, like, this peace, but there's this other side of me.
That's like, "I'm not going home.
" Like, I don't want to go home.
This is my fourth time being in the bottom.
That's not good.
I don't want to go home.
I don't feel like I deserve to go home.
After that performance.
I'm a little surprised to be leaving.
I think I just wanted it so bad.
That I really believed that I would be here.
Till the very end.
I'm leaving now with some amazing friends.
And some amazing experiences that I'll never forget, and I know it's gonna be a foundation.
For what will be an amazing adventure, so these are tears of joy, not sadness.
Ah ah bah bah bah bah bah bah bah bah bah bah bah bah bah bah bah bah bah bah bah bah, ah ah there's nothing you can say there's nothing you can do there's no other way when it comes to the truth so keep holding on 'cause you know I'll make it through I'll make it through On the next Glee project The theme for this week is romanticality.
- Oh! - What? There's two guys.
I want to beat Blake.
Have you had a good week so far? It's a very lesbian week.
I need you to be a little bit more realistic.
It just doesn't look natural to me at all.
Maybe we should put them both in the bottom.
- Oh, my gosh.
- You forgot the words.
If you want to win this, you have to show something I haven't seen yet.
