Trollhunters (2016) s01e25 Episode Script

A Night to Remember

1 [music playing.]
[Jim.]
We need help! Please! - [gasping.]
- [horn honking.]
[troll.]
Humans in Trollmarket? - What's going on? - Fleshbags.
- What are they doing here? - They don't trust him.
They don't belong here.
[Barbara panting.]
[Barbara.]
Where are we? Just hold on, Mom.
You're somewhere safe.
I can't.
It's hard to breathe.
We need Vendel! Where's Vendel? - Jim! - Great Gronka Morka, what happened? Angor attacked Strickler.
The binding spell! - The changeling! - Let's crush him! - No! - Stop! Not unless you want to kill his mother too.
Quickly! Bring them both to the examination dwell.
[yelps.]
[screams, groans.]
You're going to be okay, Barbara.
Mr.
Blinky? Quickly, this way.
I closed the gate before Angor Rot got in.
Vendel's going to be able to fix this.
Right, Blink? Only the Fates can tell now.
Barbara's only hope is to break the spell that entwines her fate with Strickler's.
If Vendel can, maybe, just maybe, she'll be strong enough to survive on her own.
Bring the changeling.
I must treat him as well.
[Barbara moaning.]
[gasps.]
Vendel, how's my mom? She is resting, for now, but we must move her to the Heartstone.
Blinky says that we need to break the binding spell.
I agree with his assessment.
She cannot properly heal while still bound to the changeling.
Unfortunately, this is Gumm-Gumm magic and thus, I don't know the proper incantation.
No, but he does.
Are you waiting for an invitation, or do I have to beat it out of you? - I don't have it with me.
- [Aaarrrgghh!!! growls.]
It's in the Book of Ga-huel.
In my office.
- We have to go get it.
- We'll have to be careful.
- That crazy psychopath will be there.
- Oh! I forgot about Angor Rot! No, Coach Lawrence! It's the Spring Fling Dance and he's gonna be roaming the halls.
The Spring Fling, it's tonight.
I forgot.
Your mom's life is more important than a stupid dance.
I know, but I was looking forward to our stupid dance.
Me, too.
Toby and I will get the incantation.
You need to be here for your mom.
You must go now.
Make haste! We got this! Let's go, Toby! Come on! - What about the changeling? - Take him to the stronghold.
- [grunts.]
- [bangs.]
Haven't I redeemed myself? The humans have a saying I would describe as accurate.
"Not even close!" - [boy 1.]
Did you hear about - [boy 2.]
Yo! Wait up! - Yeah, tonight's gonna be awesome.
- [girl.]
Selfie.
Did you see what she was wearing? Oh, my gosh! I can't believe Made it.
Keep quiet.
Angor Rot's still out there.
Whoa! Agh! - Shh! Toby! - Sorry! Didn't stick the landing.
Come on.
Dr.
L.
doesn't have much time.
[gasps.]
All right, back to the dance, you two.
[boh moan.]
[stomach gurgles.]
[gasps.]
Wha? Hey, come back here, you hooligans! [Toby whimpering.]
- Oh, come on! I see you! - Quick, get us into Strickler's office! [Coach.]
Get back here! All right! [stammers.]
That's weird.
That was close.
Let's make it quick, huh? I'm not a fan of this room.
Man, Strickler's got a lot of creepy books in here.
Medieval Torture? Cryptography and Secret Codes? - Hey! I think I found it! - Seriously? - Here, you speak Troll.
Have a look.
- Okay, okay.
Let's hurry.
[Toby.]
Ooh.
Eh? [gasps.]
What's going on in here? Oh.
I know what this is.
You two lovebirds sneaking around playing "romper room" unsupervised! - Us? No way.
- Yeah.
No.
What is that? Give me! - No! No! Coach! - It's not what you think it is! [sniffs.]
What is this thing? This illegal? A tube, tube-ish kinda All right, that's it.
You two, with me! [Toby.]
Oh, boy! Great.
Now what? Kanjigar warned me about this.
Trollhunters shouldn't have personal connections.
Yes, and forgive me for disagreeing, but Kanjigar was wrong.
If there's one thing I've learned in my time as a member of your species, Master Jim, it's that the human bond, your love for each other is your greatest strength.
No matter what magic Vendel is able to work, make no mistake, it will ultimately be the love you share with her, that will see her through.
You're just saying that to make me feel better.
Of course, I am.
But I'm also saying it because it's true.
Now, go.
Your mother needs you.
[Barbara.]
So, when you and your friends said you were going camping We were getting a Triumbric stone from a place called Gatto's Keep.
Right.
And when Steve crashed his Vespa? Um vulture troll.
And your guidance counselor? Blinky.
He does give me a lot of guidance.
I just can't.
It's just it's too much.
You really shouldn't be putting yourself in danger like this.
I'm your mother.
I protect you.
That's the deal.
I'm fine, Mom.
You don't need to protect me.
I think this is what I was meant to do.
[hums.]
Whoa.
I should've told you sooner.
Maybe none of this would have ever happened.
[sniffles.]
You're supposed to be able to tell me anything.
I never should have lied to you.
- [door opens.]
- Jim.
A word? Is everything okay? Did Claire and Toby get the book? They have not returned yet.
But I'm afraid we have a new problem.
What do you mean, you won't undo the binding spell? I thought you cared about my mother! I do.
Much to my surprise, and quite deeply.
- In fact, I might even love - Do not finish that sentence! If you really cared about my mother, you would undo the binding spell.
And then what? You see my predicament, Young Atlas.
I have my own interests to consider here.
What interests? The spell has been the only thing keeping you from harming me, for one.
I won't harm you.
I promise.
[growls.]
And what of your troll friends? They have no love for me, as my present confinement demonstrates.
What's to stop you from throwing me to the wolves the second my connection with your mother is severed? It's called "honor.
" I don't expect you to understand it.
Touché.
But you can understand my reluctance.
Once my mother's okay, you can leave.
No strings attached.
I won't let anybody hurt you.
I give you my word.
[moans.]
You've given me much to consider, Young Atlas.
- What is this thing? Illegal? - Oh, my! What on Earth is that? Don't move, knuckleheads, until we figure out what you're in trouble for! We gotta get this spell back to Jim's mom.
Any ideas? [sighs.]
Fine.
I have an ace in the hole I was saving for swim class, but [inhales.]
[babbles.]
Blech! Ugh! [grunts.]
Mr.
Domzalski! What in heavens is wrong with you? [grunting, gasping.]
He's going into anamorphic shock! He's having an attack! That's his medical thingy.
Inhaler! He needs it! - Oh, come on! The kid's clearly faking.
- He looks to be in some distress.
I am! I am! A lot of it! A lot of distress! [groans, gasps.]
Back up, everyone.
I know CPR.
No! No, no, no, no! No, no! [gasping.]
Ugh! Remind me never to choke.
- What are you waiting for? - Okay, take it! Take it! Take your medical thing! Whatever! Okay! Whatever it is, I don't know! [Janeth.]
You're going to be just fine, Toby.
Always wanted to do CPR.
Ugh! I should probably take him to get some air.
Kids today.
[Barbara groans.]
It's okay, Mom, just hold on a little longer.
- Thank you for doing this for me.
- I'm doing it for her.
Come on! Nobody will see us up here! Let's get the portal open! [grunts.]
Come on, hurry! Angor Rot could be anywhere by now! - I'm trying! - Concentrate! - What do you think I'm doing? - Talking to me! [moans.]
Claire! Claire! Claire! Claire! Claire! Claire! Claire! Keep saying my name.
It's really helping my concentration.
- No, Claire! He's here! - [gasps.]
The weak human thinks she has the will to power the Skathe-Hrün.
[Claire yelps.]
[yelps.]
Ooh! [panting.]
- Oh, no.
- Toby! Get behind me.
Tell me where's the key to Trollmarket, and I'll let you live! Toby, run! Claire, come on! We gotta climb! [snarls.]
[growls.]
A staff of such power is not meant to be wielded by man! I am not a man.
Now that is power! - [clanks.]
- [grunts.]
- [Toby laughs.]
- [roars.]
Eat brick, hamburger face! When I've finished with the girl, I'm coming for you ugh! Rule number three.
[moans.]
- Did you see him? Where'd he go? - Who cares? Let's go! [Toby screams.]
Leaving so soon? Toby! You sought to break my enchantment, but you have failed.
A pity you're not better warriors.
I'm not a warrior, but I threw javelin in track and field! - The incantation! - But where are Toby and Claire? We must prepare the conjuration at once! [mutters.]
Oh, it seems there is another problem.
What do you mean, "there's another problem"? [moaning.]
[roars.]
Don't hurt me! [Claire gasps.]
[both scream.]
[blade rings.]
[Toby sobs.]
[gasps.]
[screams.]
Oh, yeah! [Toby yelling.]
[screaming.]
- [Claire.]
Ow! - [Toby wails.]
Uh! That hurt.
I'll be seeing you again soon! [chuckles.]
[roars.]
[Toby sighs.]
You two again? Oh, yeah, just "getting some air.
" Right.
Back to the dance.
[Vendel.]
The incantation, as you know, makes Barbara experience whatever trauma befalls Strickler.
Unfortunately, breaking the binding spell will also erase her memory.
What are you saying? I'm gonna forget Trollmarket? That Jim's the Trollhunter? I'll leave you both with a moment of privacy.
Then we should enact the conjuration.
Guess we're gonna have to have this conversation again.
Jim, listen to me.
Promise me we will.
Okay? It took all of this for you to tell me about [winces.]
your other life.
I just didn't want to worry you.
And I know I have.
Yes, yes, you have.
I am worried.
I'm scared.
But listen to me.
It is my job to worry.
And it's not your job to protect me.
I want you to know something.
Even before you found this amulet way before all of this you were always my hero.
My beautiful boy.
I love you, Mom.
[door bangs.]
The time has come.
Place your hands upon the gemstone.
- Barbara, I - Don't talk to me.
You're the one thing I'm looking forward to forgetting.
[sighs.]
Hmm.
[stone hums.]
[Vendel chanting.]
Jim, promise me.
After this is over, don't keep your trollhunting a secret from me anymore.
Promise me.
[groans.]
Oh-hh! [Vendel chanting.]
[Barbara, Strickler grunt.]
[gasping.]
[chanting continues.]
[groans.]
[Strickler screams.]
[Barbara moans.]
[chanting continues.]
Forgive me, Barbara.
[gasps.]
Jim, promise me! - Great.
Now what? - Why did Angor steal my purse? - [ringtone playing.]
- Is it Jim? Ooh! Hey! Looks like Doctor L.
is gonna be a-okay! Mission accomplished, am I right? [dancers.]
Whoo! [Claire grunts.]
You know, I may not be Jim, but I can cut a rug like a jitterbug.
Sorta.
I would love to.
[gasps.]
[girl.]
I hope he sees me tonight.
[music playing.]
[gulps.]
Go dance with her.
We both know you want to.
- I don't know who "her" is.
- That's what makes it romantic.
[music continues.]
[boy.]
Guacamole! Awesome! Uh, hi.
May I have this you know, this jitterbug? I mean, dance? Toby, stupid, stupid, stupid, stupid.
- [ballad playing.]
- [gasps.]
Oh, no.
[gasps.]
[gasps.]
Uh! [gulps.]
This is nice.
Is this nice? Feels nice.
Sorry.
I'm a little nervous.
A lot nervous, actually.
I think I'm in love with you! [tapping microphone.]
Hello? One, two, hello? It's now time for the moment you've been waiting for.
Announcing the Queen and King of Spring Fling! This year's king is Steve Palchuk? - Whoo! - [crowd applauding.]
Who's the king? Say it! - [boy.]
Steve Palchuk.
- Yeah! [moans.]
Aw! I really thought this was gonna be the Year of Eli.
Really? Moving on.
And this year's queen is none other than our Darci Scott.
[crowd cheering.]
Where's Darci? Is Darci here tonight? [gasps.]
[gasps.]
Wha aa t? Popularity is a lot of work.
This way, I can just be myself sometimes.
- But I asked you out.
You said no.
- You asked out every girl.
I wanted you to go to the dance with me for me.
But after what you said, you're reasonably cute.
- Really? - You may be my duke.
Awesome sauce! [chuckles.]
[sighs.]
[woman on P.
A.
.]
Dr.
Hammond to Radiology.
Dr.
Hammond to Radiology.
You'll be safe here.
Jim? Is that you? Honey, what happened? Mom, something happened last night.
Something you can't tell anyone.
What is it? Why do you look so worried? Well, uh there was an accident.
You fainted, you bumped your head.
And I drove you here.
My hero.
I know there are things going on with you, Jim.
Things you don't want to tell me There are? I mean, you do? Well, sure, you're 16.
You have your own life.
I just want you to know there's nothing you can't share with me.
Whatever it is, I can take it.
I know you can.
- Hey.
- Hey.
- How's your mom? - She's gonna be all right, thanks to you.
She's not tied to Strickler anymore.
But she won't remember much, you know.
The the dance isn't over.
Uh, I just kinda wanna get outta here.
Didn't want our first dance to be in a stupid gymnasium, anyway.
- Oh, okay.
- But I got someplace else in mind.
[gasps.]
[motor putters.]
[Spanish ballad playing.]
[chuckles.]
[vocalist singing in Spanish.]
- Gotcha.
- [Claire chuckles.]
I know you'll be devastated, but you lost.
Steve is our Spring King.
It's funny, I don't feel like a loser.
Eres tan embriagante Eres tú - [Claire gasps.]
- [Jim chuckles.]
Eres tú [chuckles.]
[music continues.]
[gasps.]
- No! No! - What? Is it my breath? No, no, no! I know why he ran off with my purse! He has it! - He has it! - What? You saw him? - He has it! - Claire! Angor Rot has what? He has the key to Trollmarket! [humming.]
You cannot hide from me now, Hunter.
[music playing.]
