Thanks to the family's nanny who staved off the attack while the parents were out, an 11 year old girl has survived without injury.
The assailants? Two members of this very same community.
18 year old Madison Ainsley and Ann Watkins, both locals.
Best friends who met at Aldea Academy, an elite private boarding school.
With the discovery of diaries, texts, and emails between Ainsley and Watkins dating back several years, investigators are still piecing together the extensive planning and disturbed motives behind this attack.
Initial reports indicate that the young women wanted to terrify a community they described as bland and monotonous and were fixated on the idea that this attack would make them notorious, hoping to aspire others to do the same in their own neighborhoods.
With Watkins dead and Ainsley in custody following Thursdays - foiled attack, - (DOOR KNOCKING) attention has focused on the unlikely hero, 36 year old nanny Araceli Gomez.
The family has expressed profound gratitude that she was there to protect their young daughter.
(SIREN WAILING) (DOOR POUNDING) (SUSPENSEFUL MUSIC) Who is it, mommy? Hide.
