Quota

[LIGHTER CLICKING.]
Hey, Tina! [LIGHTER CLICKING.]
You said one cigarette.
I'm done.
Relax.
He said heads will roll if we didn't get everything done tonight.
Woah.
I thought you was giving up on them caffeine pills.
Because they weren't working.
But I raided Gus's stash.
He's got the good stuff.
I don't get you guys.
Killing yourself for a company that [CRASH SOUNDS.]
[RAT SQUEAKING.]
- I thought I saw one.
- Oh God, you and your rats.
It's out of control.
I filed a complaint.
As long as them suckers ain't nibbling on product, corporate doesn't care.
[FAINT CHRISTMAS MUSIC.]
You okay there, grandpa? What are you doing? Nothing.
Come on.
We've wasted enough time.
Let's get to it.
So, grandpa, huh? Okay, let's see you keep up with this old timer.
You're too soft with your team.
You think you're still one of them, but you're not.
You're their boss.
I'm tough when they need it.
Look, our competitors are eating our lunch.
If we want to compete with their one click, 24-hour delivery, idle workers cost us $10.
5 million last year.
I can do what needs to be done.
I hope so, because if you don't exceed quota tonight, my hands are tied when it comes to your bonus.
What? Daniel, you said my bonus was guaranteed after 90 days.
The bank will foreclose on our house if I can't I'm really sorry.
I really am.
We changed company policy.
Christmas bonuses are for exceeding quota.
Fine.
I can get the team to stop taking smoke breaks.
If you could, you would've already.
Well, I know DKL locks their employees in.
We could just do that.
Yeah.
That's a great idea.
Wait, what? I'm going to set it to this door code on my way out.
Uh, you won't need it, but keep it here just in case.
Okay, hold on.
I was just joking, Daniel.
We're not seriously saying we're locking people inside.
That's Sarah, if this works, then we exceed quota.
Everyone wins.
[SIGHS.]
Like I said, I'm going to lock the door on my way out.
Only use the code in case of emergency.
I know you, Sarah.
You gotta stop being so soft.
Trust me and let me help you succeed.
[SIGHS.]
Hey Doyle, quit it.
You're making us look bad.
[GARBLED NOISES.]
It's just wrong.
The company shouldn't be able to take our phones away before every shift.
I'll ask again if we make quota.
Daniel's usually more open.
Thank you.
Can't believe we finally have one of us as shift manager.
Own it, girl.
I bet you Jamal happy.
Yeah, now that I'm making more but he's still out of work, and it is not easy looking after Kayla all day.
Hey, did you talk to Daniel about that We can't bring in any exterminators.
Daniel will never sign off on shutting everything down to take care of a few rats.
It's more than just a few.
Okay fine.
What about this then? Isn't this stuff toxic? Can't we at least lock it up someplace safe instead of having it laying around everywhere? You know, you could help me do something about all this if you joined management.
[LAUGHS INCREDULOUSLY.]
Okay, then at least have my back tonight.
Daniel will let people go if we don't meet quota.
Fine.
We'll look out for each other.
I'll keep the line tight.
[SNARLING.]
Hey Doyle, you all right? [SNARLING.]
Hey, old man.
Ugh! [GROWLING AND SNARLING.]
WORKER: Doyle, stop! Get off him! He bit Gus? Yeah.
Just before I got there.
Gus knocked his lights out and the guys brought him here.
I don't need this.
Why would they start fighting now and biting? I don't know.
Him and the guys always going hard on caffeine pills and uppers.
Maybe it's a side effect.
- We should get him to a hospital.
- Listen to me.
We need to keep this under control.
There's plenty of time after the shift.
After the shift? You lost your mind.
He bit somebody! [GROWLING.]
Doyle? Hey, you okay? What the hell happened? [GROWLING AND SNARLING.]
Doyle? Doyle? What's going on? [GUTTURAL SNARLING.]
What the hell kind of pills was he on? Wait Tina! [SNARLING AND GROWLING.]
We can't mess around with this.
We need to call 911.
No.
No way.
The cops will make everything worse.
Let's just get through this shift.
Sarah.
Doyle just went crazy.
Look, if we're going to shut everything down, - let's at least be sure, okay? - What does that mean? Find out exactly what happened to him first.
And what if he gets worse? Tina, a bunch of our people are going to lose their jobs if we don't make quota.
Let's just be sure.
I'll talk to Gus.
Maybe he can tell me exactly what happened before Doyle went crazy.
- Okay.
- Okay.
Please don't let me regret this.
[DISTANT SNARLING.]
What? [FEEDING SOUNDS.]
[FEEDING.]
[GASPS.]
Oh! What the hell's going on? Elizabeth! [SNARLING.]
[STRUGGLING GRUNTS.]
[SNARLING.]
[SCREAMING.]
[CRYING.]
[SNARLING.]
Did I did I kill him? I don't think so.
You didn't hit him hard enough.
[GASPS.]
Ugh.
Whatever it is, I think it got him.
BOTH: Doyle.
Come on.
- We need to get out of here.
- Okay.
Okay, we just have to get back to my office, - unlock the main doors.
- What? We're locked in.
I was talking to Daniel and He locked us in? Call his ass right now.
I know, I'm sorry.
When I said "lock them in," I didn't think Wait, wait.
When you said "lock them in?" This was your idea? And now we're trapped in all this craziness? It was a joke.
- There was no way I could have known - I don't believe this! God, you are such a sellout.
You keep pretending like you have all the answers, but you're just scared and thinking of your own damn self.
- Tina! - I don't even know - who you are anymore! - Tina, no! [METAL CRASHING.]
Tina? Tina? [GAS HISSING.]
[COUGHS.]
[PANICKED BREATHING.]
[SNARLING.]
[SNARLING.]
[GAGS.]
Okay.
[COUGHING.]
[SNARLING AND GROWLING.]
[SCREAMING.]
[GROWLING AND SNARLING.]
[POUNDING.]
TINA: Oh, my God.
They all have it.
This is messed up.
How are we going to get out of here? What's that? It's the code for the door lock.
We just have to get to the front without those things getting us.
- Sarah? - What? Your nose.
Tina You [GASPS.]
Oh, oh! [COUGHING.]
[SNARLING.]
[PANICKED BREATHING.]
That'll be us before we know it.
Maybe not.
Doyle got sick at the start of the shift.
Then he bit Gus.
Then it spread to the whole team in under an hour.
An hour.
[PHONE DIALING.]
[RINGING.]
Hey Kayla, what are you doing up? I'm so sorry mommy's been working so much.
I thought I could make things all better, but I was wrong.
No, sweetie.
Just give him a big kiss for mommy and tell him I love him.
I'm sending you a big hug through the phone.
Can you feel it? Yes, baby.
[TEARFULLY.]
Mommy loves you.
[COUGHING.]
[PHONE RINGING.]
Come on, pick up Pick up Please.
[SOBS.]
[COUGHING.]
Damn gas.
[COUGHS.]
The only thing keeping this thing from the outside world is that the warehouse is locked.
We have to call the cops.
The CDC, somebody.
Let them know when they find our bodies we could be contagious.
We can take care of this problem ourselves.
Tina.
This place deserves to burn for everything it's done to us.
At least this way we're protecting the folks we love.
[SOBBING.]
I don't have a husband like you do.
Or a family.
Only my two boys.
Five and seven.
[SOBS.]
They'll go into the system without me.
I can't believe I'll never hold them again.
I, I have to see them again.
Even Even if I can't hug them.
Sarah, there's no way! Sarah, no! No! [BEEPING.]
No, no, no! [DISTANT SNARLING.]
No, no, no [SNARLING AND GROWLING.]
DANIEL: Trust me.
Let me help you succeed.
Oh, my God.
Daniel, what did you do? [GROWLING AND SNARLING.]
Okay.
The only thing keeping this thing from the outside world is that the warehouse is locked.
TINA: We'll look out for each other.
I'll keep the line tight.
[DOOR CLOSES.]
[BEEPING.]
[SNARLING AND GROWLING.]
[SNARLING AND GROWLING.]
[EXPLOSION SOUND.]
[RATS SQUEALING.]
