Wolfblood (2012) s04e12 Episode Script

Protocol 5

1 In her, he saw a leader.
A natural alpha.
And he thought again of her vision of a future and he knew that she would never allow some faceless corporate to compromise that.
She would never let others use her for their own ends.
She would always be true to her wolf.
I need your help.
You know how serious the situation is.
- We need to work together.
- By kidnapping my friends? We locked down the problem.
They're safer with us than anywhere else.
They're my pack.
One pack.
You're one alpha.
What protects all our kind? What protected you in the wild? Made it possible for you to come to Stoneybridge? Here? The secret.
Always the secret.
- They would never betray wolfbloods.
- And yet here we are.
The only way to save your friends is to protect our secret.
You and I together.
- How? - [She sniffs.]
- Who's with you? - No-one.
It's just Selina.
What's she doing here? Probably looking for TJ.
I'll get rid of her.
TJ? Bring her up.
- Why? - Because we can use her.
You know I'm right, Jana.
When I say run, we run.
(Go!) I was wrong about Jana.
Put her on the list for Protocol Five.
My heart still beats And my skin still feels My lungs still breathe My mind still feels - Are we running out of time? - Time.
There is nowhere for you to hide The harvest moon is shining I'm running with the wolf tonight I'm running with the woo-olf I'm running with the woo-olf.
[wolf howls.]
"No free man shall be taken or imprisoned, or disseized" "of his liberties but by the law of the land.
" And that is the Magna Carta, the foundation of English law and YOU are in breach of that! And so are you! For not telling us that we've been going to school with a bunch of werewolves! If one of you had of told us the truth, none of this would have ever happened! - I made a promise.
- So did I.
We're supposed to be your besties.
You should have trusted us.
Yeah, because you reacted so well when you did find out, right? Now Don't you start! You're just as bad as she is! - And we're not your pupils any more! - I'm not trying to be your teacher.
You should have told us they were dangerous! They're not dangerous.
Yellow eyes, fangs, full moons? We're probably going to be werewolf chow! Stop! They're called wolfbloods.
And Jana and her friends aren't dangerous.
And yelling isn't going to help! We're going to stay calm and be ready.
Because Jana will save us.
- Because she's the alfalfa.
- (It's alpha.
) I understand your situation.
If I had a son who'd made a mistake, I might have hidden it from the rest of us too.
Where is he? - Carter Hall.
- [She snarls.]
You really think teeth and claws are going to fix this? Grow up.
Give me a reason to spare TJ.
What kind of reason? Jana has a den somewhere in the city.
- don't know where it is.
- TJ does.
Get him to tell us and you can both go home.
Untouched.
Do we have an agreement? Take her to her son.
I'll be there as soon as I've spoken to our human guests.
Ms.
Cipriani? Why are you doing this? You have no right to keep us prisoner.
You are my guests here for the moment.
We all have a problem, and I'm here to fix it.
Just like old times, Mr.
Jeffries.
- What do you want? - A simple public statement.
Then everything goes back to normal.
You help us, we'll help you.
You? Help me? We have a medieval archive in need of a historian.
You need never teach again, or write another bad novel.
Further education is very expensive these days.
Our scholarship fund would cover it all.
And if we don't cooperate? You need me to tell you that? With just a few words, you help yourselves and protect wolfbloods.
It's best for everyone.
- We agree.
- Yeah.
If it gets us out of here.
Wait a minute.
What about Jana? And TJ and Matei? Where are they? - Katrina! - No.
If Cruella de Vil here wants us to cooperate, then she'd better start telling us where they are.
Wait! Where's Jana? [She sniffs.]
-You two! - [She strains.]
Imara, start the car.
[She snarls.]
Imara! [They snarl.]
Carrie? I was asked to come and talk to you about the treatment.
What treatment?- - They're going to take away your pain.
- This way.
- Victoria's plan.
What is it? Protocol Five.
What's Protocol Five? No more lies, Imara.
What do you mean? It's freedom to be the person you should have been.
It's freed me.
I'm different now.
- I'm happier.
- I don't understand.
I think I'm starting to.
The anger.
The fire burning inside.
It's it's gone.
We're going to be de-wolfed.
So that's what Protocol Five is? It would prove they're not wolfbloods and the video was fake.
- What, and you let them do this? - Carrie needed it.
But we need to save TJ and Matei before it's too late.
This is it.
There are tools in the car.
Wait there.
We don't need "curing".
This isn't a disease, it's who we are! You wanna live with this thing inside you? Doesn't it just burn you up inside? Hmm, let me think.
No! That's not the wolf.
That's you hating yourself.
It's the wolf.
It's evil.
- It makes you do bad things.
- Yeah, like what? What could you have done that was so bad for them to have done this? [They snarl.]
You think you can come and take our wolves as easy as you took hers? - Come and try.
- You don't understand, Matei.
- I understand enough.
- You took her wolf! We took her wolf for her own good.
And it was what she wanted.
She's just a kid.
How could you? Because she killed your parents.
It wasn't my fault.
Segolia sent me to your dad for counselling.
He said I could learn to love the wolf.
He transformed to show me that his wolf wouldn't hurt me but it freaked me out.
And I panicked, knocked things over, something caught fire.
I don't know how, it just happened and I ran.
- You killed Matei's parents? - The wolf did! [He snarls.]
Thank you, Carrie.
It was the wolf.
And now it's gone.
[They breathe heavily.]
We do what we have to.
For Carrie.
For the secret.
We've organised a press conference.
Jeffries will say that the video was an online promotion for his book.
And you two will provide blood samples for testing, proving that you are entirely human.
Yeah? How about we tell the reporters everything? You could.
Or you could think about all the wolfbloods you'll keep safe by your sacrifice.
Like your sister.
- My sister? - She's in the video.
And if you want to help keep her safe, you'll do this for her, and the rest of the wild pack.
- And as for your mother - My mother didn't know! Well she should have.
So, are you going to help me keep the secret or not? On the couches, please.
Well, at least I got to wolf out once in my life.
[Mobile phone rings.]
- Yes? - It's Imara.
- Wait.
- I'm coming.
You win.
- Where? - First, I speak to TJ.
- It's your mother.
- Mum! Are you all right? - Mum, they're going to de-wolf us! - No, they won't.
- Talk to me.
- I bring them in, your offer stands.
Agreed.
We'll come in through the old tunnel network.
Don't do anything yet.
You, keep an eye on them.
On me.
- Are you OK? - I will be once I get TJ back.
OK, I'm going to need you to pull.
Come on! I'll close the gate after you go through.
Here.
Why are you even doing this? Come on.
You know it's wrong.
I don't have a choice, TJ.
And besides, it's the only way to protect all wolfbloods.
The end justifies the means.
Because that always works out well, doesn't it? We're in.
What are you doing? They've got TJ.
What choice do I have? - Jana! - Selina? - You all right? - I'm fine.
- Mum? - TJ, you're coming home with me.
What? Mum, no.
You're safe now.
Come on.
- Don't touch me.
- TJ.
It's OK.
Go.
No, I'm staying with my pack.
Dr.
Whitewood? Who is next? TJ, just go.
Please.
- Yeah, go on.
You get out of here.
- How could you do this? How could you possibly think this is right? - [She snarls.]
- Back off! This isn't helping TJ.
When I want parenting lessons off you, I'll ask.
Until then, are you willing to sacrifice your own wolf? Or are you going to let us go? Don't give me the excuse.
Let them through.
There's no way you won't be found.
You planning on taking me with you? Cos that's the only way you're getting out of here.
I've got her.
Everyone in.
This doesn't change anything.
Segolia will hunt the wild pack down.
We'll hunt you all down! Now, I'll take your serum.
Do your press conference, whatever you want, - so long as you leave my pack alone.
- Agreed.
This pack, and the wild.
- What's happening? - Get in the car! Jana get in! You have my word.
Imara, get them out of here! - Jana! - Now! - Jana, no! - We need you! You will be the stuff of legend, Jana.
The wild wolfblood alpha who sacrificed her wolf to save our secret.
We salute you.
I'm so sorry.
[She gasps.]
What's happening to her? She's wild.
Her immune system's strong.
- Her wolf's fighting back.
- What do we do now? Let it die in its own time.
- The press conference.
- I know.
- Is she ready to move? - Not yet.
Bring her when she's ready.
My name is Tim Jeffries.
And I would like to clear a few things up.
This video was a promotion for my novel, Bloodwolf.
I had no idea the video would prove so popular.
They should be here by now.
Find Whitewood.
Human or not, she stays our alpha.
She was there for us, all of us.
[They sniff.]
And I'm sorry for what I said to you, Mum.
Don't be.
Yeah, but it was a Trojan horse wolf.
Cunning, smart.
- Pretending you was on our side when - I wasn't pretending.
What? You wouldn't come.
You wouldn't abandon your pack.
And that left me with no choice but to save all of you.
And you can hate me for it, but one day, you'll have your own cub, and you'll understand.
- But - There are no buts.
I'd sacrifice a thousand packs for you.
[They sniff.]
Jana? - You're still a ? - A wolfblood.
- What? - How did you fool them? I think you'll find I fooled them.
The worst thing about being a scientist - everyone always takes credit for your work.
Though it was Jana who locked our guard in a broom cupboard, so I gave her the same serum I gave to Meinir.
Nice dramatic reaction to fool Victoria - but no harm done to her wolf-self.
- I didn't know until afterwards, I So what are we going to do now? We can't hide here forever.
They'll go after the wild pack.
And that's why we need to end this, once and for all.
How? What can we do? The only thing we can.
Mr.
Jeffries was our teacher, so of course we said we'd help him with his video.
The idea was to post a video online as if it was real, because if he did it himself, it would be way too obvious.
It was all scripted.
Dr.
Whitewood's not answering her phone.
We told Katrina what to say Some of you think we're hiding a den of werewolves in the basement.
[They laugh.]
But as a company at the cutting edge of medical research, we're vulnerable to public opinion.
Any allegation of "Frankenstein science" harms our business.
So where are the teenagers that actually feature in this video? We do have one of those appearing in the video coming right now to provide us with a blood sample.
What's going on? [Excited murmurs.]
You want the truth? Well, here we are.
- Are you aliens? - Are there more of you? [They all clamour.]
The wolfblood revelations that send shock waves around the world.
Questions are being asked.
- How many are there? - Why didn't we know about them? - Is it a conspiracy? - And are we safe? - - Full moon! You get it? Full moon! [They laugh.]
Well, thank you, Seloglilia.
Thank you.
Thank you, Selogli-li-lia! So, I suppose you're going to be writing another book, are you? - "Bloodwolf: The revenge.
" - [They laugh.]
Wait, "Planet of the Bloodwolves!" Nah, nah, nah.
"Bloodwolf Vs The Wolfblood"! - Taxi for Jeffries! - [They laugh.]
We can deal with all of that tomorrow.
You and me, the pack, shoulder to shoulder.
[They sniff.]
[Knock on door.]
You two? I'm surprised you want to be seen with us.
Look, Katrina, we're the K's.
Nothing ever changes that.
So we're sorry.
For posting that video.
But we were only doing it to protect our friend.
There's nothing more important than that.
Apart from family.
Or pack.
All right, there's nothing more important than friends, family and pack.
I'm the alpha here, you're supposed to agree with everything that I say.
Now wouldn't that be boring? [They chat.]
There's plenty of food, so To our pack.
Whoever and wherever they are.
ALL: To our pack.
Cheers.
- So glad to have you back.
- We missed you.
[Phone vibrates.]
Turn it off.
Hello.
Segolia's finished.
Share prices have flat-lined.
Wolfblood employees have mainly fled.
We can't protect anyone any more.
Lies don't protect anyone.
They make us turn on each other.
You think honesty keeps us safe? Humans can learn to accept us.
I hope you last long enough to see that day, Jana.
Because right now, you and your friends are the most visible wolfbloods in the world.
That's a responsibility - a weight.
It also makes you a target.
You've spent years protecting wolfbloods from humans.
You've seen the worst in both races, but what about the good things? What about the humans that have accepted wolfbloods, been their friends, become part of their packs? I have to believe in a better world.
You'll forgive me if I don't hang around to find out.
Why did you want to see me? To warn you.
It's not humans that will come after you.
There are wolfbloods who'll never forgive you for what you've done.
So keep your pack close.
And watch your back.
