Wolfblood Secrets (2016) s01e09 Episode Script

Lies

In a secret location, the investigation into wolfbloods is at a critical stage.
What have you heard about the Morwal? You don't like us knowing about that, do you? Ma'am, it is my strongest recommendation that the wolfblood known as Jana be placed immediately in confinement.
[She growls.]
Ma'am, I strongly advise that you make a decision now.
I have to agree, at this moment in time, I consider it prudent to recommend What? To lock me up for something I haven't done yet? Look at her.
Security! Why not arrest him, because he might run someone over one day? Or the guards who are about to come in here through that door, for, I don't know, punching the next-door neighbour in ten years' time? It's the only way.
Cage me for this, and you will have an uprising, I promise you that.
It's your choice.
I think I think we need more evidence.
Oh, you can't be serious? After everything we've just heard? Let's break there, for today.
Get off! You are making a big mistake.
Mr.
Smith, remember who I represent.
You speak to me like that, you are also speaking to him like that.
We'll resume later.
Recording ended, 17.
21.
[Beeping.]
[Door opens.]
Yeah.
I need you to come in.
Can I just say, upfront, I didn't realise it was actually superglue.
I thought it was just glue.
That's not what you want to talk about, is it? I want to talk to you about wolfbloods.
Doesn't everyone now? No-one wanted to before though, did they? I knew you were ahead of the game on this.
I would be, it's in my blood.
Amazing, isn't it? It's probably just a big dog, or a massive badger, yeah? Badger hunting doesn't run in my family.
Oh, and werewolf hunting does?! As a matter of fact, it does.
My dad was telling me this morning, my ancestor was a werewolf hunter.
What's going on? Liam reckons his dad ploughed up a werewolf skeleton - this morning.
- I don't reckon, it's true.
Look, that is a werewolf skull, and my ancestor killed it.
You know, we always had that old stuff up in my attic.
I never really paid much attention to it.
If your ancestor bagged a werewolf, why did he leave it in a field? I don't know.
Dad said he shot it in Aern Hollow, wherever that is.
It probably stumbled into the field after it got shot, then over the years it just got buried.
What about this? [He laughs.]
His name was Abraham Runcorn Hunter.
People at school, they never really saw me as cool, if I'm honest.
That's him! But, man, silver bullets in my loft, I thought, this is the coolest thing ever.
It didn't really work out that way, though.
I'm telling you, my ancestor killed that thing.
Calm down, Maddy.
Look, sir.
It's delightful.
See? My ancestor was a werewolf hunter.
He was never! But I say, if you can't be cool, be dead annoying.
It's good to have a goal in life.
People didn't really like me going on about it, so I just kept going on about it.
When Jeffries said we were camping in Aern Hollow, I recognised the name from Abraham's journal.
Seriously, get a new book.
I've got free ones on my phone.
It was round here that he first saw the werewolf.
Going on about things like, did the place where Abraham found the werewolf still exist? Supposing we find this den.
- What would you do? - Laugh at the others for a change? OK, but what would you do? I don't know, take photos, phone Dr.
Whitewood, tell the world.
I don't know, it depends what we find.
Well, suppose we find an actual werewolf, then? Stop nagging me, Mads.
We're not going to find a werewolf, are we? You don't know that.
OK, so what do you do if you find one, then? What are you going to do? Have people experiment on it? - Does it matter? - Of course it does! Because you don't experiment on people, do you? - They're not people.
- You'll not say that.
Suppose it was me.
Suppose I was Mads! Look, if you two are going to keep arguing, then I'm going back.
She started it! It's like you're taking all this personally.
I'm not.
I just I just like people, and I like animals.
OK? That's all.
So do I.
But a werewolf? That's neither an animal or a human.
It's a monster.
Well, guess what? The ancient powers of detection got passed down through the generations, because I found that secret den by, you know, like, instinct.
Look, we know where it is now, let's just get Liam away, - and we'll come back later.
- Yeah, but it's here.
What? Just calm down, all right? Liam! Liam? Help! I'm stuck! - It's impressive.
- If you'd seen the danger I was in, - you would've been impressed.
- This is it.
This must be the werewolf den.
There's tunnels and everything! It's probably just a badger tunnel.
No, I can see the support beams.
I bet it's one of those old mine things.
This was made by werewolves.
But it's underground, that's why no-one's seen it.
Can you grab onto something? Pull yourself up? [He cries out.]
Liam! It's a pity you didn't inherit the ancient powers of escape.
Maybe it was a ruse.
Maybe I was faking, to draw it out.
- Maybe you were.
- It worked, anyway.
Maddy, can you still hear me? Maddy? Maddy, there's something in here.
I can hear it.
Maddy? It's coming for me! It's a werewolf.
[Barking.]
Get out of it! Maddy! Maddy? - Maddy! - Calm down.
I'm here.
Did you see it? See what? The werewolf.
He's right there, where you are now.
I didn't see anything.
It must have been a badger.
Badger? Badger.
You saw werewolves? - Yeah.
- Did Maddy see this werewolf? That's what's weird.
Imagine people still treating you like a fool after that.
I know.
Maybe, Liam, Maddy didn't see it, because it wasn't there.
I know what I saw.
She was right on top of it, she had to see something.
Unless Unless what? Unless she's the werewolf.
[He sniggers.]
- Maddy Smith? A werewolf? - Yes.
Seriously man, you're concussed.
Laugh all you want, but I know what I know.
And it all fits together.
I wasn't going to leave it there, though, was I? I just needed evidence, that's all.
Look.
I think I saw something.
Then they'd have to believe me.
- It's a wall.
- Hello? Anyone there? [Quiet growling.]
What was that? [Growling.]
[They scream.]
I wasn't going to be scared away.
Not when I was that close.
What are you doing here? How did you get in here? Get out, or I call the police! - Did you hear me? - I know what you are.
I know what you all are.
I got it, the proof.
All anyone had to do was listen to what I was saying, but But what? I've been hearing a lot about werewolves recently.
But today isn't a full moon, and as you can see, these are our family pets.
A pair of domesticated timber wolves.
They made me a laughing stock.
Werewolves? Yeah, right! We keep them in an old cavern in our house.
It was built about 300 years ago, and we think it's some sort of medieval mine, but the wolves like it.
So, we make it like home for them.
Turned my friends against me.
So, that was your big secret? Yeah.
- Last time I listen to that spanner.
- He conned us, didn't he? Even the teachers had a pop.
Ah, Liam! Our very own Indiana Jones returns.
I trust you are fully recovered? - Yes, sir.
- Excellent.
Next time you want to miss school, there's no point in throwing yourself down a hole, just catch a cold like everyone else.
It actually got quite vicious.
[She roars.]
Maddy! Maddy! [She growls.]
- Maddy, get off! - Stop it! Ow! You're the wild animal around here! Jana attacked you, did you say? No, not Jana.
All the rest, though.
They made a joke out of me.
If it wasn't for them, I could have been famous, been in a movie, made millions.
You know, you're the first person who's wanted to hear my story.
It's so good to have someone who just wants to get the truth out there.
I'm not really here to do that.
No? What, then? I need you to say, on the record, that Jana attacked you, and not just handbags like you described That was more than handbags.
I'm talking serious assault, in wolf form.
She caused you physical damage, psychological damage, you name it.
I don't know, threatened you, stalked you, add anything you like, you're an imaginative boy.
What? We're going to take them down, Liam.
Starting with Jana.
We're going hunting.
You want me to lie for you? No, I'm not going to do that, I'm not a liar, that's the whole point.
Yeah, I think you are going to do it.
What kind of lowlife do you think I [Recording.]
: "I, Liam Hunter" What's that? "promise never to spy on the girls' changing rooms again.
" You know very well what it is.
"Like a massive, creepy weirdo.
" Repeat after me.
I - Liam Hunter.
- I, Liam Hunter, promise never to spy on the girls' changing rooms again, - like a massive, creepy weirdo.
- I wasn't spying! And those weren't the magic words.
"I, Liam Hunter, "promise never to spy on the girls' changing rooms again.
"Like a massive, creepy weirdo.
" That's the one.
That's not what it looks like.
In this world, Liam, all that matters is what things look like.
Rhydian was supposed to delete that, he said Well, luckily he kept backups.
The shame of this Liam, it's going to mess up your life, there's going to be no film deal, mate, no nothing.
Come on All you need to do is sign one little piece of paper.
I can make all this go away.
For good, this time.
