[thunder rumbles]
[static crackling]
Jereme, there's somebody standing
at the head of me.
There's energy above me right now.
It's a woman energy, younger female.
Something happened to her due to a male,
but it's almost
there's multiple at the same time.
It's not just one person.
Jereme, they're surrounding
the casket right now.
I keep hearing, "Get out."
They want me to get out.
It's a male energy I'm not liking
right now.
Something just touched the top of my head,
Jereme.
All right. Let's pull you out.
I'm turning the lights on, okay?
Oh, that was so intense.
Jereme wanted to put me in a coffin
for the first night of our investigation
to stir up the energy.
It was one of the most
terrifying things that I've ever done,
but it helped me gain clarity
on what I was picking up.
We found a photo of a family,
and now I know that something very tragic
happened to them.
And I feel that a very strong force
does not want us here.
[narrator]
What Brandy and Jereme don't know
is that their coffin session aligns with
recent hauntings at Madison Dry Goods.
Visitors report hearing faint whispers
that grow deafening.
Get out! Get out! Get out!
And many have described
being touched or poked
by the ghosts of disfigured
women and children.
Ed and Lorraine Warren's son-in-law,
Tony Spera,
is carrying on his family's work
in hoping to prove that the theory,
called the 28-day cycle, is real.
The investigators made it past
a big hurdle by surviving night one
in three extremely haunted locations.
But this is where most
paranormal investigations end,
and their work is just beginning.
We're entering into
this uncharted territory,
because these investigators
are fully embedded now.
They're not leaving.
And I think that the spirits
are starting to pick up on that,
and they want these houseguests out.
Yeah, this is really going to ramp up.
[narrator] In Ed and Lorraine Warren's
thousands of cases,
this period of the cycle,
days two through seven, were crucial.
As they began to pry into the secrets
of the locations,
dark entities did not want to be disturbed
and started launching
psychological and spiritual attacks.
The Warrens reported
that during this period,
spirits would take advantage
of moments of vulnerability,
like when they felt exhausted,
scared, isolated,
or even while they were sleeping.

into the mystery of a double homicide
that took place several decades ago.

on night one.
We've already connected
with the spirits of two girls
that we think were murdered here.
Tonight, we're gonna investigate
the basement,
which we weren't able to do
on our first night.
We got the word "basement"
on one of our Estes session.
So we think something may be down there.

[Amy, grunting] Okay.
[Shane] This tunnel looks like a tomb.
It's dark, it's damp in there.
The air is thick.
And on top of that, just the energy
There's a feeling of dread,
feeling of claustrophobia.
And if that heavy door closes behind us,
we may be part of this tunnel forever.
- It doesn't feel good in here.
- [Ray] What? Is that a manhole?
- [Shane] Shine the light.

Wait, look, you can see there's light.
[Shane] Yup, that's definitely a manhole
to somewhere outside.
[Ray] What if they kept somebody prisoner
here and fed them through that hole?

Whenever Ray and I feel energy
in a new spot in a haunted location,
we always like to start
with the Estes method.
[Ray]

[warbling static]
[Amy] Something here.

[Amy] "Marianne."
- [Shane] It feels heavy right now.
- [Ray] Mm-hmm.
[Shane]
Feel it? In your shoulders and stuff?
[Ray] It's getting thick.
[Amy] "Get out."
"It's me."

[Amy] "Some kid."
[Ray] Is there anyone out there?
Why don't you show yourself?
Shh! Turn it around.
Turn the camera around.
I just saw a full-out shadow.
[Amy] "My house."
[Shane] This is your house?
[Amy] "Get out."
- [Ray] Oh!
- [Amy] "Warned
you."
[Shane] Dude, I'm nervous as hell.
Who's out there? Tell us your name.
[creaking]
[Ray] Did you hear that?
It's coming from the manhole.
[Shane]
Something does not want us here.
- Amy, Amy, let's get out of here now.
- [Ray] We gotta go.
- [Amy] What happened?
- [Shane] There was a loud-ass clanging.
- Let's get out of here.
- [Amy] All right.
I'm out of here, let's go. Oh!
My gut is telling me something
is not right about this tunnel,
especially when we don't know how powerful
the entities are in this house.
I'm the last one out of here.
Here, grab this so I can climb.
[Amy] This is now the second time
this has happened,
and I am connecting with two spirits
named Cara and Marianne,
but there is a powerful entity
that seems to be blocking me.
Something's here.
- We're close to something.
- Right.
I feel like there's a deep, dark secret
in this house,
and it goes way beyond the murders
of these two women.
Something here really doesn't want us
to find out what that secret is.

The names Cara and Marianne
have been coming through
during the team's Este sessions.
What they don't know
is that in October of 1970,
two women, 18-year-old Marianne Weaver
and 17-year-old Cara Lee Knoche,
were found slain in their apartment
in what is now the Valentine Suite.
The killer was never caught.
They are getting somewhere.
They're making headway.
The team has touched a nerve here.
They set something off.
[Aaron] Cara and Marianne.
It's amazing that all three members
of this team
got these names either through
the Estes method or psychically
without knowing a thing
about what happened at this property.
Now, this is not proof that
the 28-day cycle exists yet,
but it is impressive,
considering we're at this early stage.
[ominous music]

[Sean] There's a lot of spirits here.

The other night I was just, like,
sitting there
and just listening to all
the responses coming through. It was
It almost puts you in a trance,
like, all the voices.
Give us some names of the spirits
that are with us right now.

They were all intelligent.
They were responding to me, to you.

- Responding to all three of us.
One thing's for sure, we're communicating
with many different spirits in this place.
And it's a little tough to figure out
who, what, where, and how
for all the years that have gone by
and the walks of life that's come here.

Captain Grant's Inn has a rich history
that may account for the abundance
of spirits on the property.
Built over 250 years ago,
the inn sheltered continental soldiers
during the Revolutionary War.
And over a century later,
it became a safe haven
for runaway slaves during the Civil War.
And just a few feet
from the back of the inn
is one of Connecticut's oldest grave sites
with hundreds of buried souls,
spanning nearly three centuries.
All right, back at it.
Normally, I'd go into an investigation
with a bunch of historical data.
I'd know names, dates.
But, as of right now, all we know is that
this place is called Captain Grant's Inn.
It'd be nice to figure out if the spirits
here are tied with the Captain Grant
that this place is named after.
Why don't we try
to contact Adelaide tonight?
I definitely believe that she's here,
and she could be a core element
of this mystery.
- [Aaron] Yeah.
- Cool.
Spiritually, Adelaide seems
to come through a lot
in our communication sessions.
I think that she's definitely trying
to tell us something.
And tonight, we're gonna try to figure out
what that is.
[Sean]
When I hear names or words telepathically,
most of the time I don't hear the voice.
It's literally a message.
It's a thought, it has energy.
And they're able to transmit it to me
like I'm an antenna.
And that's how I came up
with the name Adelaide.
We're doing this because we want to try
to give Adelaide all the energy she needs
to be able to communicate with us clearly.

you know, it's a little bit low.

I'm pretty sure that said, "My Captain."

It just said, "Wife."
[voice] Wife.
That's two intelligent responses in a row.
"My Captain."
Who are you to Captain Grant? "Wife."
Wow.
Why do you stick around here still?
[static crackles]
Did you love this place, living here?
[Nick] Oh, did we lose her?
[Sean] Damn. I think she's gone.
I'm picking up that Adelaide
was Captain Grant's wife
and this was their home.
Psychically, I'm getting this tremendous
sense of longing from Adelaide.
Is her spirit still here because she's
waiting for her Captain to come home?
[static crackles]
Adelaide, why are you stuck here?
[crickets chirping]
[wind whistling]
[ominous music]
- [Shane] How'd you sleep?
- [Ray] Same.
[Shane]
Keep on having up dreams.
Really?
So, I had a dream last night.
Fleetwood Mac was playing real loud.
So, I get out to go look,
and it's coming from Amy's room.
So I'm thinking
- [scoffs]
- [Amy] How?
[Shane] "How is she playing music?"
I open the door and I go in there,
and I see a piece of a dress
from underneath the bed.
And I look under there,
and I see this girl all contorted.
[shrieks]
And I about shit myself,
and then I wake up.
I've never had vivid dreams like this.
- [Amy] Me either.
- Ever.
Mm-hmm.
[Ray] I absolutely believe
Shane has intuitive abilities,
and this dream
could be more than just a dream.
I think that he's got the abilities.
I think that he's got the right mindset.
I think he's got a love for this.
And I think that if he opens himself up,
that the sky's the limit for all of us.
[Amy] You guys ready to get to work?
[Ray] Let's go.
From day one, I've been picking up
on this tragic event
that took place in the Valentine Room.
I feel strongly that two girls
were murdered here.
[Ray] Shane and Ray, double Estes.
Even Amy, with her psychic abilities,
keeps getting blocked.
So Shane and I wanna try
a double Estes session.
Whenever we do the double Estes method,
you're essentially having two people
communicate side by side,
but they're not able to see each other
and they're not able to hear each other.
So it gives you that extra affirmation
that anything you hear is legitimate.
Hopefully both of us working together
can find a way to communicate
with the spirits of Cara and Marianne,
and help give us the power
to have a breakthrough.

- [Shane] Something just grabbed my leg.
Jesus Christ.
[Amy] You scared me.
[exhales]
- [Amy] From under the bed?
- Something grabbed my leg.
- [Ray] You want to look under the bed?
- No!
[Ray] Is there something on this side
closer to here?
[Amy] Here, move. What is that?
Move his thing.
- [Shane] I don't see anything.
- [Amy] Thanks.
[Shane] Scared the shit out of me.
- Nothing.
- [Amy] Nothing.
While I was doing the double Estes,
the image of my dream came back to me.
That contorted girl under the bed.
But this time, she grabbed me hard.
Maybe my leg hit up against something,
but it felt like something grabbed my leg.
- Right here.
- [Amy] Yeah, nothing down there to hit.
This is crazy. At any point
during a paranormal investigation,
you might have some sort
of physical interaction,
but what Shane experienced,
that seemed like a violent grab.
This dark entity is trying
to block the Lumber Baron team,
despite Cara and Marianne's strong desire
to communicate with them.
The danger is that, as the cycle continues
and the veil between realms gets thinner,
the dark entity can do
more and more damage,
whether that's physical, mental attacks,
maybe even possession.
[ominous music]
[loud thud]

From everything that I'm feeling and have
received through spiritual message,
just within the last few days
of us being here,
and especially during
the coffin experiment,
I do believe this family from the picture
is connected to this place
and the story behind it.
She's the one who was hovering over me.
While I was in the coffin, I had seen
the oldest daughter from the photo.
It was so intense.
She showed me visions of blood everywhere.
She was crying. She was shocked.
I felt the depression within her.
I felt the hurt, the fear, the pain.
It was so overwhelming.
I want to help this family,
because I feel their pain,
and their pain becomes my pain.
There is another energy here that does not
want us prying into the mystery.
And, quite frankly, I'm scared,
because I don't know if I can handle it.
I think the daughter, the oldest daughter,
she's wanting to speak and communicate.
So I think she might be
one of the key factors.
We should focus more
on her energy tonight,
try to make a connection
with my mediumship abilities
to see what kind of messages
we can receive from her.
When I communicate with spirits,
it's not just speaking out loud.
It's important for me to be able to build
more of an emotional connection with her.
That way, it would make her feel
that she was safe with me
to explain to me what happened
within the family.
The oldest daughter energy,
I need you to come to me.
It's okay. You don't have to be scared.
She said, "We had to always pretend
everything was happy and okay at home."
"Put on our best faces
whenever we went out."
She said, "I was tired of doing it."
[voice] Where's the baby?
Something about the baby.
The oldest daughter keeps saying,
"The baby."
With the oldest daughter, she's making
me feel like she's carrying a child.
[exhales]
She held it in like it was a secret
within the family.
Like, she couldn't speak to nobody
about it.
She felt so helpless.
"I told my dad I was pregnant."
She's showing me that he went upstairs,
the father figure, father energy.
He was walking upstairs,
and now I see all the blood.
[narrator] Brandy's psychic abilities
are connecting her with members
of a murdered family.
In 1929, the Lawson family,
including several young children,
was violently murdered on Christmas Day.
All of the bodies were embalmed and held
at what is now Madison Dry Goods.
But who killed this family and why?
There's something dark over here.
I feel like I'm being surrounded
right now,
like, from all directions,
like they're forming a circle around us.
They're coming too close to me.
It's coming from the attic.
It's something that's
with the father energy.
Something very dark.
My back just felt like it was on fire.
Literally like a hot spot
right on my back.
Like, very hot.
It's not there no more.
It felt like somebody, like,
took something really hot
and put it next to my back,
and I could feel the heat from it.
[Jereme]
My hands got goose bumps, even.
During this phase, you've got dark spirits
who've been holding on to secrets
for nearly a century,
and they don't want the truth coming out.
So when you have someone
like Brandy come along,
they're going to do everything they can
to keep her from uncovering that truth.
[Brandy] Turn that light on.
I know there's more to this story,
but I need to keep strengthening
my connection to the oldest daughter
to find out what it is.
Every time we've investigated
in connection to the family itself,
I can physically feel
with my abilities
that negative force
coming from the attic to downstairs.
[Jereme] Before we can move forward
on anything else,
we need to investigate the attic.

[Sean] I very often get messages
from spirits while I'm sleeping,
and this is because
you're in a meditative state.
And this is when you're most susceptible
to the spiritual realm.
And the spirits know this,
so they will come to you
to try to give you that message.
And last night, I was visited
by the spirit of Adelaide.
And she showed herself to me
walking the hallways of the inn.
And I just felt this tremendous sense
of longing and loss for someone.
Is this Adelaide desperately waiting
for her Captain to come home?
Was Captain Grant lost at sea?
Then she pointed out the window.
After my dream with Adelaide, I realized
she was pointing out the front window.
I'm not exactly sure where,
but she's trying to send me a message.
So we're gonna head out on the property
and try to figure out
what she's trying to tell us.
You see that headstone back there, dude?
[Sean laughs]
[Sean] We're going in the direction
where Adelaide was pointing in my dream,
and we stumble upon a cemetery.
It's incredible that she's able
to communicate with me
directly through my subconscious
and give me this information.
[Aaron] Wow, this is awesome, guys.
Wow.
[Sean] I think Adelaide is trying
to show us where she is buried.
It's huge.
[sighs] We pretty much
got to look at every grave.
[Nick] Yeah. Well, we'll split up.
You go straight, I'll go this way,
and then we'll just yell.
[Aaron] All right.
[Sean] When you have old cemeteries,
you have so many different energies
and emotions that can affect me
because I'm sensitive to it
and, you know,
just walking in there,
I have this pressure on my head,
and just things kind of pulling me
in different directions.
[crow cawing]
Hey, I got it. It's right here.
Right here. Adelaide.
"Wife of Captain Grant."
She lived to 80, died in 1861.
- March 12th.
- [Aaron] Yeah.
I'm curious about this one.
[Nick] Oh, my gosh, yeah.

- [Sean] Doesn't it?

Maybe you'll pick something up.
[Sean] I've been getting
this nauseous feeling of, like,
missing someone,
wanting to see them again
as if she's been waiting for her Captain
to come home.
Why would she think that if he was buried
under the ground we're on now?
I would think, for me, personally,
knowing that he was here next to me,
I would want to go meet him in the light.
[Aaron] Yeah, yeah, absolutely.
What if she's not really waiting
for her Captain?
What if something's forcing her to stay
on the property?
She wants to move on,
but something's keeping her.
[Nick] Now that we realize
that Captain Grant is laid to rest here,
it makes me realize this longing
that I've been feeling
is not about how Adelaide felt
when she was alive,
it's about reuniting with Captain Grant
in the spirit realm.
Because we've had no contact
with Captain Grant,
I really do feel as if his spirit
has crossed over.
But one thing's for sure, is that I do
believe there's a dark force here at hand,
and is trapping Adelaide
and other spirits here
from transitioning and finding
the peace they deserve.
[crickets chirping]
[Aaron] Why might a spirit be trapped
at a location?
Might be that they have unfinished
business they're trying to see through.
Maybe they're trying to protect someone.
On the other hand, if an innocent spirit
is still trapped at a location,
I kind of wonder if it's because
another active spirit
that's anchoring them to the spot.

It's the house telling me

We need to make contact with this dark
entity that keeps blocking us from
communicating with the two girls
we think were murdered.
We still haven't explored the attic,
but we keep feeling
there's a dark energy up there.

Except for that.
That seems a little more older generation.
[Ray] So this is like a banquet hall,
like a reception area.
[Shane] Yeah, something like that.

This is a very intriguing room.

Are you guys feeling anything in here?
[Amy] My ears are ringing.

What does that mean?
I have a message.
I was born partially deaf.
It's mostly in my right ear.
Obviously we know when you take away
one of your five senses,
the other ones heighten,
so I do feel like being partially deaf
has definitely contributed
to my sensitivity in the abilities I have.

A lot of pressure in front of me.
[Ray, whispering] Hey.
[Amy] What the hell?
[Shane]
That is moving on its own.
That That right there is weird.
[Amy] Don't freak out.
[Ray] It's just that one moving.
So you can't explain it away
as a breeze or anything like that.
- All the other ones are completely still.
- [Ray] Yeah.
Just that one.
My head's hurting again.
I just heard,
"Amy, I'm the one who moved the candle."
"You'll hear me make a sound."
[distant whistling]
[Ray] What is that?
[Amy] What is that?

- [Amy] What is that?
- [Ray] That was outside.
Yeah, but what was it?
There's no car that went by.
I don't know.
[Amy] What was that noise?
[faint whistling continuous]
It's still going.
[Shane] Let's get out.
Oh, my God.
You see the door open?
That was shut.
[Amy gasps]
[Amy] Look!
[Shane] Look at the cabinets!
[Ray] Oh, my God.
Oh, man, I don't feel too good right now.
- Seriously.
- Oh, my God.
We've never physically witnessed something
this powerful in our entire career.
If you have that much energy
to blow open the doors of the place,
you're capable of anything.
[Ray] How do you explain this?
This feels like a warning.
These cabinets, just moments ago
we know for a fact
that these were not open.
I want to get rollback on this.
[Tony] It's highly unusual.
This is the point at which the spirits
realize the investigators are not leaving
and start to make contact.
These guys got to be careful.
[Aaron] Now let's talk about
how these locations compare
to what Ed and Lorraine
experienced at this phase of the cycle.
Being visited in dreams,
getting physically touched or grabbed,
or having objects move on their own,
that puts these places on par with some
of Ed and Lorraine's most famous cases.
It might even exceed them.
If this paranormal activity
continues to intensify,
as the theory suggests,
I'm actually worried about these guys.
[eerie music]

[Brandy] I go where energy leads me,
and right now,
I can feel this heavy negative energy
coming from upstairs in the attic.
It feels heavy.
We haven't investigated the attic yet,
but I feel like there's a very dark energy
up there.

- [Brandy] Yeah.

the top floor.
And I'm going to sit right here.

- There's a noise that happened over here.

There's a lot of energy up here right now.
She just sat down next to me,
the oldest daughter.

The kids are standing right here.
The father is absent, though.
I feel his energy,
but it's very distant from theirs.
I don't know what's
They keep showing me the image
of me being shot,
and I'm blown back to the wall,
and I literally just fall down.
Like, I'm shaking right now.
I feel so sick to my stomach right now.
It's like I can feel the children
wanting to run.
Like, they're running and hiding,
but they didn't get a chance to escape.
I just
All I can see is just blood everywhere.
She shows the shotgun
in her father's hand
and then multiple of the kids, gone.
Dead. Blood everywhere.
Almost like the father
murdered his family.
[exhales]
[thudding]
[Jereme] Oh, shit.
There's someone trying
to come up these stairs.
Something's over here telling me
to get out, but it's not
It's not human form.
I need you guys to come closer to me.
Don't let that energy push you back.
I need to communicate with you.
I feel like it's really amping up
with negative energy right now,
whatever is trying to stop them
from communicating.
But I literally feel like I'm going
to be gripped by my throat.
