Ghost Hunters (2004) s10e12 Episode Script

Rockets Red Scare

[ Creaking .]
STEVE: What was that sound? Whoa.
It just felt like something touched my neck.
On this episode of "Ghost Hunters" JASON: The USS Constitution.
There's been reports of activity on the ship forever.
I saw someone standing there.
So I turned back, and they were gone.
[ Flashlight clicks .]
JASON: Hear the heavy footsteps? There's nobody there.
A figure crossed in front of my space.
I just watched it in horror.
What was that? I have no idea, dude.
And later Old Fort Harrod in Harrodsburg.
Yeah, it was constructed back in the mid-1700s.
COLEMAN: The ground literally where we stand, there was multiple deaths all around us.
A voice said, "Get out now!" What the hell's that? STEVE: If you're trying to get our attention, can you try that again? What was that? -- Captions by VITAC -- CAPTIONS PAID FOR BY PILGRIM FILMS AND TELEVISION, INC.
All right, Steve, the USS Constitution.
Oh, yeah.
Massachusetts -- my state.
I know.
I love getting out here to Boston.
JASON: The USS Constitution never lost a battle and is the oldest commissioned warship still afloat in the world.
Originally built in 1794, today, "Old Ironsides," as she's known, is still a part of the United States Navy with a crew of 60 officers and sailors.
There's been reports of activity on the ship forever.
You know, they're claiming to hear things.
They're seeing apparitions.
Yeah.
And I guess there's claims of people seeing children apparitions, as well.
Mm-hmm.
And you got to think, over 300 people died aboard this ship.
It's so crazy.
You can imagine the sort of emotional connection they would have to it.
Absolutely.
The Constitution is going to be dry-docked soon for her most comprehensive restoration yet and won't be returned to the water until 2018.
The Navy is opening their doors to TAPS so that we can investigate the ship before her overhaul takes place.
TAPS case -- the USS Constitution, Boston, Massachusetts.
Commander, how are you? Jason Hawes.
I'm doing well.
Sean Kearns.
Welcome aboard.
Welcome to Constitution.
Sir.
Steve.
It's a pleasure.
How are you doing? Hi.
I'm Dave.
Hey, Dave.
Nice to meet you.
Welcome aboard Old Ironsides.
Wow.
What a beautiful ship.
I'm telling you.
She is, isn't she? It's an honor to be in command.
So, what's some of the history of her? Well, she really is one of the ships that represents the start of our permanent standing Navy.
The country had a Continental Navy when we were still fighting for our revolution, but that was sold off.
And in response to pirates and some other events that were going on, Congress passed an act for naval armament in 1794.
And President George Washington signed it into effect, and it authorized six frigates to be built.
Constitution was the third of those frigates, and she's still with us today.
Really? Now, is she the only one that is still with us? The only one still in existence.
That's correct.
And, arguably -- and it's certainly my opinion -- the most glorious of all six.
She really is.
Now, when this ship was in operation, how many sailors would be on here? Her crew compliment during the years where she's most well-known, which was during the War of 1812, was about 450 to 500.
Wow.
And that was made up of about 60 marines as well as a crew of about 350 to 400 sailors and then about 50 officers, ship's boys, and whatnot.
Wow.
And the ship has lost sailors and marines in battle, to sickness, to just injuries, because it's dangerous -- sailors and ship's boys falling from the rigging and things of that nature.
These ship's boys could explain why some of the claims on board Old Ironsides are that of children.
DOWNS: I was coming down from the gun deck to the berth deck, and as I came down, out of the right side of my eye, I saw someone standing there.
So I turned back, and they were gone.
Now, because of the height of their head, they couldn't have been but maybe, I'd say, 8 or 9 years old.
What other things have been going on? Noises, sounds, seeing things, hearing things, doors slamming, the sound of footsteps when no one else is aboard.
Other claims involve life jackets and harnesses rattling and falling off the walls.
I have not personally experienced anything, but I have heard some pretty compelling stories.
And some of the more common themes that I've heard are, in the wardroom area, where the officer's quarters were, some sort of an apparition, you know, and the sounds of cannonballs rolling on the deck.
FERGUSON: I was asleep in the middle of the night.
and woke up to what sounded like the guns firing.
It just sounded like a background sound of, like, a battle taking place.
Then a figure crossed in front of my space.
It was tall, very slender, and kind of hunched over, like it was trying not to hit its head.
I just sat up and just watched it in horror.
It gets to the point where some of the crew feel it goes beyond coincidence.
And we're excited to share the ship's history and the history of the Navy with you, and then, you know, the crew's curious to see what you guys might find.
That's perfect.
That's great.
Thank you so much.
All right, great.
Well, thank you very much.
We're gonna go talk to the rest of our crew.
Nice meeting you, glad to have you here.
Thank you.
Absolute pleasure.
So, we just got done talking with Commander Kearns about the activity that seems to be going on on the USS Constitution.
And the activities can definitely be unsettling situations to deal with.
They're opening up the ship, giving us full access, which is unheard of.
So it's just an honor to be able to be here and try to see if some of this activity that they're experiencing we're able to document and help back up a lot of their claims.
The ship is on the water.
Hopefully, that'll help fuel activity.
They've done a lot of renovations.
They've tried to keep the ship alive.
Sometimes, that'll spike up activity, as well.
So we're just gonna set up and do our best to see what we can catch.
All right, so we're setting up this DVR camera here.
This is the captain's quarters, and the reports down here are that some of these doors open and close on their own.
So if there's any movement down here whatsoever, we'll be able to capture it on this.
Okay.
Keep going, keep going, keep going.
Right there.
Okay.
That's good.
STEVE: Over 300 military personnel died aboard that ship, and, unfortunately, other people's trauma and turmoil sort of gives us the opportunity to do what we do.
So the deaths that occurred is gonna make it possible for us to have some experiences and possibly communicate with something.
Yo.
DAVE: Hey, guys.
We have six cameras.
We'll start with camera one.
This is the officer's wardroom.
This is where they've seen the apparition of a hunched man.
Yep.
Hunched.
Right.
Camera two -- this is the lowest part of the ship.
This is the orlop.
If you see right here, there's harnesses, and there used to be life jackets here, as well.
And they just move on their own.
They move on their own.
Exactly.
Camera three -- this is the captain's quarters.
These doors right here shut.
Okay.
Camera four -- this is the spar.
This is the top of the ship.
I just wanted to have this just to see who comes in and out of the ship.
Smart.
Camera five -- this is the berth deck.
This is where they see apparitions of children.
Okay.
This is where they are.
And camera six -- this is the gun deck, as you can see.
That's where a lot of the deaths took place, as well.
Right.
Yep.
And we've got the GoPros and the thermals and all that.
We have everything.
Yep.
All right, let's get the lights out -- start the investigation.
Good job, Dave.
Good job, bro.
Thanks.
[ Light switches clicking .]
DUSTIN: Okay, this is Dustin and K.
J.
-- D.
Pari and the Spaceman.
We are on the USS Constitution down in the officer's ward.
All right, so we have a hunched over apparition, which obviously needs to be hunched over because how else would you walk down here? K.
J.
: Makes a lot of sense right there.
Oh -- pbht.
Completely logical.
And also, down here, the reports are that some of these doors open and close on their own I think even though some of them were supposed to be locked.
Somehow, they find them open.
Mm-hmm.
Is there anybody down here with us that can communicate tonight, open up one of these doors? I just saw some light bouncing off of those windows or something.
Did you witness that there? No, I didn't see it.
No.
I didn't think that there was any roof access.
It was right where we came in, I think.
Can you step forward for us? Show yourself.
JASON: Jay and Steve heading into the berthing area of the USS Constitution.
That hammock's swaying.
STEVE: That one's not, though.
Mnh-mnh.
Which, if it was the boat rocking They would all be moving.
they would all be moving.
You should try to get in one of these.
I'd get in one of those.
Maybe in doing so, we'll spike something up.
My name's Jason.
This is my friend, Steve.
Can you do anything to let us know you're here with us? If something's watching us, something supernatural -- [ Creaking .]
What was that sound? Whoa.
It just felt like something touched my neck.
I mean, if something's watching us, something supernatural -- [ Creaking .]
What was that sound? Whoa.
It just felt like something touched my neck.
From the side.
Can you let us know if you're a marine or a sailor? Was that you that touched my neck? [ Thud .]
Whoa.
That was a loud bang.
That was a loud bang -- on command.
Yeah, that was.
Is that that rolling sound? Mm-hmm.
That was one of the claims.
It's the sound of -- like a cannonball's being rolled.
Steve and I have been sitting here, trying to make contact, and numerous times, we've gotten what sounds to be bangs in direct responses when we've asked questions.
I'm gonna count to three.
When I say "three," you can make a loud noise.
It would really help us to know that you're definitely here with us.
One, two, three.
There's a rolling sound.
There's the banging sound.
Yeah.
I wonder if it would make sense for one of us to lay here for a good five minutes.
You do that.
I'll walk around a little bit.
It's funny.
You get down to this end of the boat where all the banging's coming from when you're down there, and then, all of a sudden, there's absolutely no banging.
That just sounded like movement.
Whoa.
What is that? [ Thud .]
Whoa.
Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa.
[ Thud .]
What was that? There's that rolling sound again.
Stay focused all the way down there on the end.
Okay, all the way down there.
Seriously, honestly, it looked like something just totally blocked out the light way down there on this side of the stair.
Hear the heavy footsteps? Listen to that.
Boom, boom, boom.
I don't know, man.
There's nobody there.
Oh.
[ Flashlight clicks .]
Well, I can definitely see why it'd be unsettling for some people to be on the boat alone at night.
SAMANTHA: Sam and Shari on the berth deck of the USS Constitution.
So, the first claim down here is the apparition of a little boy.
Little boy -- there were the ship's boys.
They were used to do all the more dirty work on the ship.
We hear there is a ship's boy.
Trying to figure out why you're still here.
Can you tell us your name? Are you the gentleman who stayed in this room? Are you maybe a little boy who helped out on the ship? SHARI: If there is somebody with us, can you maybe give us a little knock somewhere? Maybe [ Thud .]
Did you hear that? Yeah.
DUSTIN: This is D.
Pari and the Spaceman.
We are on the orlop deck, the lowest level of the USS Constitution.
People say they see apparitions of children all over this ship.
Somebody likes to pull the harnesses and life jackets off the wall.
If you can do any of these things, if you can make loud sounds, knocking sounds, let us hear your voice, gently interact with one of us -- any of these things we would appreciate.
K.
J.
: We want you to know that we come here with the utmost respect and admiration for your service for your country and fighting for the freedom that we now live with today in the year 2015.
My name is K.
J.
, and this is my good friend, Dustin.
If you understand what we're trying to do, could you make a loud sound somewhere down here? Loud banging sound, whistling sound? K.
J.
: We're doing an EVP session.
We're trying to just establish a relationship and a comfort level, communication.
We're gonna continue to see if we can capture some kind of EVP response, disembodied voice -- any kind of communication would be really important right now.
If you're able to come forward and let us see you let us hear you tap one of us on the shoulder.
Let us know you're here.
Whoever's here, we ask you to please -- [ Thud in distance .]
What was that? I have no idea, dude.
Whoever's here, we ask you to please -- [ Thud in distance .]
What was that? I have no idea, dude.
I was gonna ask you to please come forward, but I'll take any signs or sounds that you can give us, as well.
That's, like, all rumbly, man.
I felt the whole ship shake right now.
K.
J.
to Jay and Steve -- are you there? Do you copy? STEVE: Steve.
Hey, Steve.
Could you confirm your 20 right now? We are in the TAPS van.
Can you confirm that Dustin and I are the only team on board right now? It's just you two in there right now.
Sweet.
10-4.
Copy.
That's awesome, man.
That's incredible.
STEVE: So, where's the captain's quarters? Straight up here? Yep.
DAVE: Steve and I are in the captain's quarters of the USS Constitution, and in this area, there are claims of sounds of doors opening and closing.
So the sounds of doors closing.
Can you close or open a door for us? This door here won't even close the whole way.
DAVE: Every ship we've ever been on, that's been the claim -- doors opening and closing.
I just feel like there's way too many things that are just moving.
And as the ship -- I mean, we saw the ship rise 10 to 15 feet in just an hour.
Yeah.
There's got to be some rocking during that time.
Going, like, leaning one way -- more one way than the other.
STEVE: They claim to hear battle sounds.
Like, sounds like the ship is -- What if we just went over to where the guns are, and, like [Snaps fingers.]
Ooh.
"Come on.
We've got to, you know, put the gun powder in.
" It's worth a shot.
Try to recreate that kind of a situation, some of that energy.
Let's give it a shot.
Let's try it.
STEVE: Load these cannons! Where are you? I'm over here.
I need you over here.
What do you mean? There's lots of cannons over here.
What? There's cannons over here.
Man, we wouldn't last two seconds.
[ Laughs .]
What were they called? Cannons.
No.
Guns.
Right.
Gun powder! We need gun powder.
Quick.
[ Thump .]
Almost sounded like a gunshot.
Like a gunshot, I'll be honest.
Tango to Dustin and K.
J.
DUSTIN: What's up, buddy? Hey, did you guys make, like, some type of, like, thumping sound maybe 30 seconds ago? It sounded very -- It was just a chair movement.
K.
J.
was getting up.
Can you do us a favor? Wherever K.
J.
was sitting down and made that chair sound, can you do that again? Yeah, he's going back there now.
That's it.
That's it.
That's it.
That's it.
Thank you very much.
That was it.
That was crazy.
Yeah.
That sounded just like a gunshot.
[ Gasps .]
Could that be what it is? It could be.
People getting out of the chair down there and it sounds like a gunshot.
It happened to us.
It sounded like a distant cannon fire or something.
It really did.
It sounded like a battle was going on.
JASON: Jay and Steve entering the orlop deck of the USS Constitution.
Hello? STEVE: Whoa.
Hold it now.
That's just a big drop.
Be careful.
JASON: Take the stairs.
Wow.
This is -- this is cool.
JASON: So, now you're down to some of the original parts of the boat, man.
Yeah.
See? Yeah.
So, none of these are swaying or anything right now, though they claim to hear these rattle.
I wonder what could make them start to rattle.
Maybe -- Oh, maybe when the sprinkler system turns on? There's a whole bunch of machinery back here and an air compressor connected to the wall.
I wonder if when that turns on and starts running if those things shake.
Sprinkler system shouldn't turn on unless it's called for.
It's just gonna stay pressurized.
Right.
Ooh.
You just hear that? [ Tap in distance .]
It was just, "bump, bump.
" Listen.
Just did it again.
I hear that but sounds like it's coming from above.
[ Flashlight clicks .]
Yeah, but not four decks above or three decks above.
Well, that's true, but we also don't know how sound carries.
Sounds like somebody's dragging something.
It's not just the normal sounds of a ship.
No, they're not.
Jay to Dave.
Go for Dave.
Dave, are you guys on the deck of the boat? We are.
Okay, are you guys at the bow or the stern? On the stern.
All right, do me a favor -- where you are, stomp really hard for a minute.
Copy.
Hold on.
Did you hear anything? Nope.
We got walking right above us.
That's why I was wondering.
Wow.
That's awesome.
[ Tapping .]
It's like somebody wheeling something, like somebody rolling something across the floor.
[ Tapping .]
It's like somebody wheeling something, like somebody rolling something across the floor.
Yep.
Yeah.
There's a whole lot of sounds going on here that don't really make much sense.
Hey, guys, it's late.
Why don't we get the lights on? It's time to wrap.
STEVE: Tonight's investigation of the USS Constitution has been an amazing time.
Jason and I, we were hearing some things we couldn't explain, possibly the sound of a cannonball rolling around, a possible voice.
We saw some hammocks swaying that didn't quite make sense, and we had some really interesting things happen.
We'll see what sort of data we come up with, and what we can present to Commander Kearns.
So excited to get over there and just talk with Commander Kearns and just show him what we found.
What we captured is really intriguing.
JASON: The USS Constitution played a pivotal role in America's history.
Her storied past has led to the unexplained activity taking place on board, which TAPS came to investigate.
After reviewing our evidence, we're back to share what we found.
Hi.
Hey, Steve.
Commander Kearns, good to see you, sir.
How are you, Jason? Good to see you again.
It's good to see you again.
We've got a bunch of stuff we'd like to show you.
We'll start off with a couple little things and just work our way up.
Okay.
So we've got a piece of audio that we'd like you to listen to.
It was two of our investigators, Samantha and K.
J.
, and they were on the gun deck.
And there was just a voice that seemed to come in as K.
J.
was talking.
K.
J.
: [ Chuckles .]
Like, "Damn, where did I put my walkie?" Where's my walkie? Where's my walkie? You hear that voice as he's talking? walkie? Where's my walkie? Where's my walkie? That's interesting.
I can't really make out what it might be saying.
It's not something you can really pin to.
Now, experience that Steve and I were able to have -- at one point, we headed down into the berthing deck where all the hammocks are.
While we were down there, all of a sudden, two of the hammocks started swaying back and forth while the rest did not move at all.
We decided we were going to spend some time in the hammock, seeing if they could draw some of the things that are here.
There was just -- sounded like a voice.
And so, we started thinking, it might have been a small child.
'Cause you were saying there were children who worked on the boat at that time.
Right, in kind of an apprentice fashion.
Right, the ship's boys.
That's right.
We heard a tremendous amount of noises -- very distinct footsteps.
Well, that's a common, you know, claim that we hear over and over.
Right.
Well, and it could be expected somewhat to a point, because it's wood floors and you getting the popping, the creaking.
But these were 100% footsteps.
Whoa.
That's pretty much -- Oh, yeah.
I could definitely hear them.
That's footsteps.
It's somebody moving around.
And the ship was locked down at the time, and there was nobody coming on or off.
Well, now, this next piece we want you to hear, I know that there's claims of cannonballs rolling across the floor.
Numerous times while we were on the boat that night, it sounded as if a cannonball was rolling across the floor.
There's a rolling sound.
STEVE: There's a banging sound.
Yep.
And it is a distinct rolling sound.
Well, hopefully, we've answered some of your questions.
We've been able to document a lot of the experiences, and -- Well, I know the crew will be excited and interested to kind of validate their experiences.
Well, we want to just say it's been an honor coming out and hanging out with you guys.
You guys have been wonderful.
You guys have been great guests Thank you, sir.
and shown nothing but courtesy and respect to both the crew and the ship, and we appreciate that very much.
Awesome.
All right.
Well, thank you very much.
Come on.
Let's get out of here.
Thank you very much.
KEARNS: The claims that have been made over the years are consistent with some of the sounds that TAPS was able to record during their investigation.
People can agree or disagree with what's causing them, but they definitely did capture some of the same noises that members of the crew have heard over the years, which was really interesting.
JASON: I think that went great, man.
STEVE: Oh, I think it was awesome.
And it was just an honor.
I mean, an absolute honor.
Absolutely.
I love dealing with the military.
They're so respectful when they have activity to allow us in to check it out.
Yeah, this was a great case.
Well, good job, brother.
Thanks, man.
That was a lot of fun.
On to the next, man.
Old Fort Harrod in Harrodsburg.
Yeah, it was constructed back in the mid-1700s, and James Harrod sort of built the community.
But the problem is, they'd get attacked by the Indians, and they'd come in, they'd burn down the crops, they'd scalp people, and the place saw a lot of death.
JASON: TAPS is on the road to the site which was once the historic Fort Harrod and is now a state park.
The activity that's happening there, I mean, full-bodied apparitions, you know, females seen.
Yeah, they've got all different types of activity, and David, who is running Fort Harrod, he's got a lot of concerns.
They've got re-enactors, and they're scared, because of a lot of the activity that they've been experiencing there.
JASON: TAPS case -- Old Fort Harrod State Park, Harrodsburg, Kentucky.
[ Chuckling .]
Hey, how are ya? Doing well.
How are you? Good.
Hi.
I'm Steve.
David Coleman.
Good to meet you.
So, what's some of the history here? Well, the town itself was founded in 1774, the fort was built in 1775, and this was the beginning of all things Kentucky.
In 1774, an expedition led by James Harrod started the first settlement to the west of the Allegheny Mountains.
As the community grew, a fort was constructed in 1775 to keep the pioneers safe from the Native American attacks.
So, how many people actually lived here in its heyday? Well, Fort Harrod was a refuge for people who would live in the surrounding woods, but during a raid or a siege, when the Native Americans were attacking, it would balloon up to 400 or 500.
People would have to cram in here for weeks, and sometimes months, on end.
Strangely, the fort's founder, James Harrod, went missing in 1792.
Although it's suspected that he may have been killed by Native Americans, his remains were never found.
How many people would you say actually lost their lives here? Hundreds.
Hundreds.
Yeah? It was a very, very violent place to live.
The ground literally where we stand, there was probably multiple deaths all around us.
One particularly violent death was that of Barney Stagner, who took his horse outside the forest walls to graze and was then killed by Native Americans and had his head placed on a stake for all to see.
Stagner's remains are still buried in the Pioneer Cemetery.
After the war of 1812, much of the fort was torn down to make way for the expansion of the town, Harrodsburg.
The Old Fort Harrod State Park was built in 1927 on some of the same land that overlaps the original fort.
It was created to honor the men, women, and children who began the westward expansion of the United States.
Now, you've got a lot of paranormal-type activity that seems to be going on here.
That's correct.
The Conference Center seems to be the hotbed of all of our activity.
One of the strangest claims in the Conference Center, which was built on Stagner's murder site, is that people see a head with no body floating in a booth on the second floor.
It was built as a theater, and there's a control booth upstairs with glass sides.
They had said that there was a man's head looking down at them, and that door's locked.
Re-enactors have also heard voices in the building.
Right behind me, a voice said, "Get out now!" And I turned around real quick and I checked in all the rooms.
And I know there's nobody up there.
What are some of the other apparitions? They're all over the board from males to females.
From a personal standpoint, I was mowing in the yard one day, and I could see someone walking upstairs in the museum.
And it was locked with the alarm still set.
I know there wasn't anyone in there, but I saw him plain as day.
LEWIS: I was in the museum and I looked up, and right down the hall from me was a woman in period clothing, but you could see right through her, and she just kind of, like, went across the hall without even stopping.
And I went to see who could have been, and there was nobody there.
And, plus, we have lots of people that visit up here, and they take lots of pictures.
And, inevitably, someone will come up and say, "I took this picture in the cemetery, and I got this funky orb in the background.
" So, what are you mainly hoping we're able to accomplish by being here? Well, we want to prove or disprove whether or not we actually have something not of this world, you know? And we do a lot of re-enacting, and I really don't want the re-enacting world to be fearful to come here.
Right.
That's the big thing.
Plus, we get a lot of school kids coming here.
We don't want them to be afraid and not want to come here, too.
Well, great, then.
We'll go talk to our crew and start figuring out how to set up the equipment.
Sounds great.
Thanks a lot.
Thank you, sir.
Appreciate it.
Thank you.
STEVE: David just filled us in on everything that's happening here at Fort Harrod, and there's quite a bit of activity.
And the fact that there are people doing re-reenactments here -- You know, they get into it.
They put on the full costume, and we see, time and time again, that when things are happening that could remind this conscious, you know, energy here or spirit of what it was like when they were alive, there's a good chance that that could be working as a catalyst and fueling some activity.
DAVE: So, I'm setting up a camera in the James Harrod Conference Center.
This is where a lot of people saw a face of a man looking back at them, and there was no one up there.
So definitely want to have a camera pointed in that direction where people saw this face.
STEVE: What I'm excited about is, with this case, we have history, we have names, we have a lot of knowledge about what happened here, and that gives us a tremendous amount of ammunition to use to try to elicit some activity.
All right, Dave.
Hey, guys.
I see some thermals going there.
Yeah, got a couple thermals, six DVR cameras, plus two GoPros -- eight cameras all together.
Awesome.
Let's get some teams going.
Lights out.
Let's do it.
[ Light switches click .]
JASON: Jay and Steve in the museum at Old Fort Harrod State Park.
Now, you look at this stuff, and you wonder, "What energy could be attached to some of these things?" STEVE: Absolutely.
I mean, just say a soldier or somebody, a family member defending this fort, had this rifle, shot it, killed somebody.
That thing saved his life.
He's gonna be connected to that for eternity.
Oh.
Hey, you know, that's funny.
Claim here is that they see a woman in white, and we have two women in white.
We have two of them.
JASON: It almost makes you wonder if people are actually seeing a lady in white, is it the energy from that? Is there anybody that would like to talk to us? STEVE: Daniel Boone? No way.
JASON: Yeah.
[ Thud in distance .]
What was that? [ Tapping .]
Sounded like a cough.
[ Thud in distance .]
What was that? [ Tapping .]
Sounded like a cough.
No, it sounded like a [Coughs.]
like a cough.
STEVE: Could it have been the wood, maybe? Oh, man, I don't think so.
We were both in here.
Hello? If you're trying to get our attention, can you try that again? All right, so, first thing is when they saw the face.
A man's face.
A man's face looking down at them from down here.
And they think it may be Barney Stagner.
He was the one who was beheaded right around the outside of this building.
And they also hear people talking in that hallway upstairs on the second floor.
Let's start up there.
Yeah, 'cause everything is up there.
Pretty much.
Yeah, that's true.
Even the face was up there.
DAVE: All right.
There's half a mannequin.
Hmm.
[ Clicks tongue .]
There's a mannequin, and it doesn't have a head.
Right.
We should probably see what else is down the hallway.
[ Chuckles .]
Yeah.
I mean -- There's bags.
There are literally bags of heads.
That's the claim.
You know, they see a head, and there's heads everywhere.
But that mannequin's -- it's foam.
It's black foam.
Right.
So, I mean, if it was turned -- they're not saying they saw a body.
They're saying they saw a head.
I mean, what if somebody was up there setting up stuff? Yeah.
I mean, it would be different if they said, "We saw a Native American up there," because they believe Native Americans are buried here.
But they're just saying they saw a head.
DAVE: They saw a head.
Again, I don't want to say that's what they saw.
I'm not trying to doubt them, but I mean, put two and two together.
it's hard, because there are things like this around.
Right.
Exactly.
SAMANTHA: So, I mean, did this person come in and see the head -- no body, because that mannequin's black foam and the room's black -- but come in and see a head and leave and not go up there? DAVE: Right.
Because, I mean, if somebody was just moving some of these props around -- Yeah, and, to me, it sounds like they came in, or whoever it was, came in saw it, got startled, left, and then -- right.
Yeah, instead of checking it out.
Which most people do.
Which is why you should always check out what it is you're seeing, because But people aren't -- they don't do what we do.
That's the thing.
[ Chuckling .]
Right.
All right, so this is the spot where that photograph of the apparition was taken, right? We had three photographs there with a series of looks like a moving figure.
First one we have on the ground.
The next one, it's, like, moving up above that wall.
Okay.
And then it's way up high.
Way up there.
Right, and it looks like we're standing in the exact spot where that photograph was taken.
Okay.
We're not just getting one photo with something anomalous on it, but we have three photos, and it actually shows the same shape in three different positions actually moving up, like, into the air.
Right.
We are here in an attempt to communicate with the spirit that was seen in the photograph.
Is there any way that you can make yourself known? Somebody thought they saw you here.
Let's try and take some photos from a very similar angle, and it looks like -- yeah.
So if you kind of frame it up so that we can capture, like, half of this little crypt here and some of that placard.
Okay.
All right.
Just hit it.
All right, so let's look at those and see what we've got.
That's a weird streak.
Hmm.
Yeah.
Oh, see, that's Mm-hmm.
That's -- yeah.
It's cool how the raindrops are, like, streaking across there, huh? You know, there's multiple explanations, especially on a night like tonight where we've got this light mist.
Occasionally, we have a little heavier rain and everything.
They're taking photos.
But those raindrops are gonna look like orbs.
But, you know, obviously, there are unexplained phenomena out there.
Yeah, I don't know.
Well, very cool.
All right, let's get this party started, brother.
All right, it's D.
Pari and the Spaceman.
We are in the Conference Center.
If there are any spirits that are here with us tonight that would like to communicate, we ask you to please come forward and do so at any time.
People say they see a face upstairs in the second floor.
They also hear a man's voice here.
Barney Stagner, you were attacked just a couple hundred yards from where we are now.
Are you here with us tonight? You want to just go check out that room, man? K.
J.
: Yeah.
Upstairs? Yeah.
We want to let you know that we do this for a living.
We do this professionally.
Was that noise from you, K.
J.
? No, I was just gonna ask you the same thing, and I can tell that you're not moving.
No, it sounded like it was over here, so maybe one of these rooms? This door's open.
Take a look.
[ Door creaks .]
You know, they say that the people that come here to re-enact the battles are frightened of you.
The sounds that you make, the voices that they hear -- are you trying to scare them? [ Thud .]
What the hell's that? DUSTIN: You know, they say that the people that come here to re-enact the battles are frightened of you.
Are you trying to scare them? [ Thud .]
What the hell's that? You hear something, Spaceman? I want to go back to our original positions where we first started.
Okay.
You know, Spaceman and I, we heard some rustling sounds.
So maybe if we go back to those spaces, maybe it will happen again.
So, we're trying to give you your space again and trying to make it easier for you to come forward and communicate with us.
We'd like to know what your face looks like.
Maybe we could determine who it is that you are.
JASON: Hey, guys.
It's getting late.
Let's get the lights on.
It's time to wrap.
STEVE: Tonight's investigation was awesome.
As an investigator, it was very rewarding.
You know, we got to the bottom of a lot of things, and we still have to go through all the evidence.
And I think all this information is gonna be very valuable to our client.
JASON: TAPS was called in to the Old Fort Harrod State Park to see if there could be anything paranormal behind visitors' frightening experiences.
We've analyzed all of our evidence, and now we're back to tell our client, Dave, what we found.
Hey.
How are you? Good to see you again.
How are you doing, sir? Doing well.
Good to see you.
Good to see you.
Thank you.
Have a seat.
Well, that night we came, we set up our equipment, we looked all around for a lot of these different claims that were going on.
It was really quiet for us that night.
Yeah, we implemented a lot of different equipment, and there were some investigators that did claim to have a few small experiences.
Jason and I had a little bit of an experience in this house, hearing some things.
We were able to get to the bottom of a few things.
For instance, the photo that was taken in the graveyard.
And we'd snapped some photos, and it looked just like that.
So there's a good chance that that might be what they captured.
And, you know, the face peering out in that control booth in the actual Conference Center, we did find a mannequin.
And what people are seeing could be a reflection of that mannequin or a reflection of something else up there.
But, you know, that's not a definitive, you know, disprove of that particular claim.
Right.
And while we were in here, we did hear a couple of times -- It sounded like voices.
Also, movement, which sounded like somebody walking on the floor in the hallway.
A couple of the other team members had similar experiences.
We do have one thing we'll show you.
It's just a knock to a response that one of our teams had.
DUSTIN: So if that's you making those sounds, please make it again for us now.
[ Tap .]
Yeah.
All right.
Are there certain times of the year that the activity is greater than others? We find that it's more in the wintertime.
What would you think about us coming back during that time of the year, when it's winter, when you guys are experiencing -- That would be fine.
All right.
Well, then, we'll set that up.
Yeah, that would be great.
All right.
Well, that sounds good, man.
If you need anything before then, you just give us a shout, and we'll get here as quick as we can.
All right.
Thank you very much for your time.
We appreciate it.
I hope you come back soon.
All right, sir.
Thank you, sir.
You find some good things.
[ Chuckles .]
Bye.
Have a great day.
You, too.
COLEMAN: I'm heartened of the fact that they didn't find a lot of things.
So we can disseminate that information out to re-enactors and stuff that we had, you know, the best of the best come and investigate this, and they couldn't find any credible evidence that we were being haunted.
So, hopefully, people can look at this evidence or lack thereof and see that there's nothing going on here that's out of the ordinary.
JASON: Well, that went well.
STEVE: That went great.
Not a lot found on this case, so it is what it is.
It is what it is, but we were able to disprove a lot, as well, there.
You know, we got to the bottom of a lot of claims.
Yeah.
You know, and we can't misinterpret, we can't exaggerate.
They're just looking for the truth.
Well, you know what, brother? Good job, man.
Thank you.
On to the next.
