Sleepy Hollow s04e12 Episode Script

Tomorrow

1 Previously on Sleepy Hollow LARA: Dreyfuss won't rest until he's gotten the gun.
It raises the Horseman of War.
- How about a name? - It's Lara.
Despair's webbing that's how Henry was created inside Crane's mind.
DIANA: Dreyfuss isn't acting like someone looking to burn the world to a cinder.
- Maybe he's got other plans.
- I am destined to become the best thing that has ever happened to America.
Four totems, four riders.
And we're just outside of Camp David.
Dreyfuss is raising the Horseman to take out our commander in chief.
DIANA: You seem to know a lot about Malcolm Dreyfuss and his plans.
She is from the future.
- Molly? - Yesterday was the last day that I remember seeing you alive.
When Dreyfuss fires that gun, it will be a disaster like no other.
(gunshot) Oh, beautiful For spacious skies JENNY: A long time ago, there was a land called America.
Where food was aplenty, people were free, and there was more TV than you could ever imagine.
- (children laugh) - Seriously.
You could watch anything.
Even shows about cupcake wars.
But then along came the Dreyfuss.
CHILDREN: Boo! He took the power from the people and he kept it all for himself.
The world you grew up in was one he created.
America was no longer America.
But there were those who fought back.
Brave people like your moms and dads, who refuse to accept the darkness, have been fighting for years for freedom.
To bring down the Dreyfuss.
I heard if you chop the Dreyfuss' arm off, he grows another arm.
My brother says if you look directly at him, your eyes melt.
- (all murmuring) - (chuckles) I'm sure you've all heard lots of stories, but he is just a man.
One who can and will be defeated.
Now, I want to thank you all for these lovely pictures.
And remember, we don't talk about this class with anyone, right? - Yes.
- Because if we talk about freedom CHILDREN: The Riders will come.
Very good.
We have a code black.
How long? Five, six minutes out.
Okay, children, that's all for today.
Find your safety buddies and head to the common area.
Your parents will meet you there.
Bye.
(indistinct chatter) Which one is it? It's all of them.
Damn.
Tell Julian priority is getting everyone to safety.
Go.
Let's hope you're as good as advertised.
(horse neighs) JENNY: Fire! Aah! (grunts) (screaming, shrieking) (grunts) (grunts) Fall back! Fall back! Run! Come on.
(high-pitched ringing) (gunfire, shouting continues) (grunts) Molly.
Don't call me that.
I'm not calling you by the name Dreyfuss gave you.
He gave me more than a name.
He gave me a life.
One based on lies.
You have to know that.
What I know is I finally caught you.
Malcolm wanted your execution to be public to show everyone what we do to terrorists.
So you're gonna kill me? I don't think you can.
You know that this is wrong.
You should be fighting Dreyfuss for turning your mother into this.
My mother is dead.
And your attempts at mind games are pathetic.
I'm not lying.
Ask Crane.
Crane Who's long dead.
You sure about that? Everything you have been told is a lie.
Molly, lis - I told you not to call me that! - It's your name! It's who you are.
Who I am? Do you want to know who I am? I'm the girl who lost her mother because of you and Crane.
The teenager who Malcolm Dreyfuss saved from a life of misery.
The woman who's going to make sure that nobody else gets hurt the way that you hurt me.
And I'm the one who'll make you pay.
(grunts) (groans) (gasping) Diana.
I'm sorry.
I failed.
No.
No, it can't be.
DREYFUSS: This is Delilah's Dagger.
Legend has it this blade can cut through any substance.
Even a Horseman's armor.
We're lucky she wasn't able to do more harm with it.
Malcolm, I I saw something.
Yeah? Jenny told me something crazy about War.
She said that War was actually Lara.
Jenny Mills she was just a creature of dark times.
Someone who was desperate enough to say anything.
About me, about you, and even about your mother.
I-I never said that she mentioned my mother.
Well if you didn't, trust me I've heard that lie many times before.
Many times.
Malcolm, you emptied the prisons, right? After executing Crane and the other political prisoners? My dear, you've got to stop letting these whispers get to you.
Please.
I'm sorry, Malcolm.
It's okay.
Don't you worry.
Come here.
Yeah.
That's all right.
Hey, if I can't be here to ease your mind, then what good am I, right? - (door clangs open) - LARA: Hello? Anybody here? Hello? You're dead.
You're supposed to be dead.
Molly.
Don't don't call me that.
Oh, no.
He changed your name.
Oh, you mustn't let him.
Don't let him don't let him take your history.
- Your family, your - My mother what happened to her? Dreyfuss transformed her into the Horseman of War.
But you know this, don't you? All this time it's all been a lie.
Molly All of it.
I am happy to see you well.
Not sure how well I am right now.
What did he tell you? He told me that you believed I was special, while my mother wanted to protect me Yes, you-you are special.
And your mother did want to protect you, she wanted it very much.
We all did.
We wanted to help you, we wanted to help you grow as a Witness.
(sighs) There is no such thing.
No, now, that is Dreyfuss speaking.
We are the Witnesses.
Why do you think he's kept me in here, locked up, for years? It is because he wants to know that he has control of the both of us.
I need to get you out of here.
- No.
- W We can, we can run.
We can hide up north.
There is nowhere on Earth where the Horsemen will not find me.
No, no, no, no, I have to make this right.
There is another way.
Everything hinges on the moment Dreyfuss shot your mother.
If we stop that from happening, we can prevent this world from ever existing.
What do you, what do you mean, stop this from happening? A very long time ago, my wife Katrina attempted to change history by jumping back into the past using a powerful invocation known as the Traveler Spell.
The Traveler Spell.
It can be located in an ancient volume of black magic known as the Grand Grimoire.
Here.
Molly.
Find it and you can save us all.
But to do so you must save your mother.
Go, go, go, go.
(reciting in Latin) (whooshing) DREYFUSS: Lara! Please don't do this.
I know the truth, Malcolm.
I know what you did.
What-what did I do? I I rescued you from darkness, Lara.
I gave you a life of privilege.
You took my mother from me! Lara no.
No, that wasn't me.
That was fate.
Some things really are just meant to be.
So even if you go back, you won't be able to change anything.
We'll see about that.
- Lara! - (gunshots) (whooshing) LARA: When Dreyfuss creates the Horseman of War, it's the beginning of the end.
Malcolm, you don't have to do this.
- (gunshot) - Mom! (gasps) I did it.
I saved you.
(exhales) - Agent Thom - No.
- DIANA: Oh, my God.
- (Crane gasping) Well, I did not see that coming.
I can feel it.
The blood.
The fear.
(demonically): I am become War.
(chuckles) But you know what? I think we can work with that.
War, what is it good for? Absolutely everything.
I truly did not want this to happen.
I mean, I had big plans for Crane.
But I guess you got to learn to roll with the unexpected in life, right? Bring him back.
Bring back Crane.
It's kind of a one-way ticket.
Yeah.
I mean, that's-that's why my plan was to shoot you.
Forgive me, but you're expendable.
You, on the other hand I could really use someone like you.
(chuckles) Actually, sounds like I already have.
Or I will one day come to use you.
Right? Boy, time travel sure complicates verb tenses, doesn't it? I'll make it simple: screw you.
I knew there was a reason I liked you.
Well, I got a funny feeling I'll be seeing you again sooner or later.
Would you be so kind as to, uh kill them, please? DIANA: Crane you can fight this.
(grunts) We need to go! (tires screech) I think we're okay.
(mutters) - What are you doing? - Just hold on a second.
- Mom? - Oh, thank God.
You okay? Uh, yeah, why wouldn't I be? I'll explain later.
Just nothing weird - has happened, right? - Well, I mean, Evie tried to stuff 20 marshmallows in her mouth and Maddie showed us her double-jointed elbow.
But other than that, no.
Okay.
Honey, I'm just gonna come get you, all right? - Now? - Yes.
- Right now, yes.
- No.
I mean, we're about to make French toast.
Honey, I'll call you back, okay? Just do not go anywhere.
- Okay.
Bye.
- What? The safest thing for her is to stay where she is, away from us.
Are you kidding? You said that Dreyfuss is gonna take her.
Not for years.
He wanted to make sure I knew what misery was before arriving to save me from it.
And after you after you went away, - they tried looking for Dad.
- Mitch.
And he was reported missing in action, so I got shuffled around in the system.
Malcolm found me there.
I cannot understand this.
I can't.
You're Molly, but you're not my Molly? I am Molly, just from another time.
And now that I've come back and changed everything, the young girl who is your daughter will have a completely different future.
We'll always be two different people.
I just I don't know what kind of future it'll be.
Crane, uh, he wasn't meant to be shot.
Meaning what, that Dreyfuss might still take over the world? I-I don't know.
Well, if we save Crane, then maybe it'll stop Dreyfuss.
Yeah, maybe.
But then what if Dreyfuss still goes after Molly? I don't I don't know, I don't know.
Okay? None of this should have happened.
And nothing that I remember will happen anymore.
I don't know what's to come in the future.
Welcome to the club.
We got your message.
We've already started researching how to save Crane.
So this is really Not-so-little Molly.
Lara.
No one's called me Molly in years.
Years.
As in years from now.
And I thought, uh, Crane's time travel act was trippy.
Save the questions for later.
- What'd you find? - Not much.
There's practically no literature on how to save someone who's become a Horseman.
Because it's not possible.
I saw a piece of what was inside War, and what was left wasn't human.
I don't believe that.
Crane's blood.
What? That means he's still flesh and blood in there.
Okay.
This means we can still save him.
- What about Dreyfuss? - If anybody knows about this kind - of transformation, it's him.
- Yeah, probably, but there's no way to get close to him now.
His security is on high alert.
We barely escaped from that compound alive.
Compound? Yeah, outside of Camp David.
We got pictures.
They were taken outside of Catoctin State Park.
(light rattling) Here.
This is bad.
Dreyfuss has the Horsemen in striking distance of the president.
JAKE: Look, they're not the Fab Four yet.
We saw the coffins, okay? The one for Death is still open.
No doubt Dreyfuss is working on filling that vacancy very soon.
I've located the rune we need to recharge Death's totem.
It was shielded from my senses.
But nothing stays hidden forever.
Not from me.
I love it when you get all ominous like that.
Gives me the best kind of chills.
Ah.
And right on cue.
Oh.
Ho, ho, ho.
What happened here? They actually managed to hurt you? Unlike our other hosts, Crane didn't have the opportunity to fully bond with the Avatar of War.
A short regenerative period should restore him.
(grunts) By the time I return he should be at full strength.
Well, what are you standing here for? Go get me my last Horseman.
(sucks air through teeth, exhales) DIANA: First things first, we save Crane.
That'll also deny Dreyfuss one of the Horsemen.
- But we don't know where Crane is.
- Or much less how to save him.
And I'm telling you again, you don't want to mess with the Dark Riders.
(alarm sounding, windows slamming) That's Banneker's security system; it means that there's a supernatural threat in the Vault.
Just spread out, be careful.
(man clears throat) Oh, I'm sorry, am I interrupting? A bit of my soul trapped in a creature's foul humors, mingles with the blood of War, and I am whole again.
What a serendipitous conception.
But I suppose all birth is a miracle.
I-I mean you no harm.
I-I was conceived out of Ichabod Crane's memories, and as such, I am the son he chose to remember.
(scoffs) That's funny.
The Henry Parrish I remember was a real bastard.
Yes, I-I had my share of demons, both literally and figuratively.
This is Crane's son? He's kind of old.
Tell that to your grown daughter over there.
Point taken.
Your colleagues have been gone for some time.
You sure they're all right? They're resetting the security system - so we can get out of here.
- HENRY: Oh! Maybe not all of us.
Out of curiosity, how did you come to find the Horseman of War's blood? It's Crane's blood.
Only the essence of War should've been able to rouse my spirit, given that I once wore the Horseman's mantle.
So I don't Ichabod has become the Horseman of War, hasn't he? Huh.
Like father, like son.
Or is it the other way around? Is this guy telling the truth? He was the Horseman of War? JENNY: Long story, but yeah.
Okay, so that means that we can bring people back if they've been turned.
Trust me, we can't do it like we did it with him.
HENRY: There is another way.
I know of a-a decoupling ceremony.
It was going to be performed by a powerful witch to release the human soul from the Horseman of Death.
Katrina.
- Crane's wife? - Yes.
She wanted to release Abraham van Brunt from the Headless Horseman, but she died before she could try.
Oh, no, Malcolm cornered the market on all spellbooks, and if such a thing existed, it would've been in his collection.
I've never seen, never heard of such a ritual.
No, you wouldn't have found it.
Crane kept all of Katrina's possessions back at their old place in Sleepy Hollow.
Oh, how did I know that we were gonna get dragged back there - one way or another? - LARA: Wait, you're gonna believe the man who was a jar of goo five minutes ago? JAKE: Okay, we're about to raise the barriers.
Stand back! Unless anyone has any better ideas than the jar of goo? LARA: A Masonic cell? Is this place strong enough to hold him? We held the Horseman of Death in here once.
Should be strong enough.
- Okay, got it.
We'll be right up.
- That was Alex and Jake.
They need us in the Archives right away.
They've got something they need us to see.
Perhaps I could be of more assistance? I think we've got it under control.
It's just that I would like to do more for my father.
Shakespeare said, "It is a wise father that knows his own child.
" In my case, the wisdom had to come to the child, as well.
Your track record as the good son is a bit spotty.
I-I don't fault you for being cautious, Jenny Mills.
Just know that I have been reborn in a very literal sense.
I'd like to believe that, Henry, but I just can't.
Not yet.
I understand.
Not all reawakening is welcome.
At this moment, the Avatar of War is breaking my father's psyche down, bit by bit, and soon there will be nothing left of the man known as Ichabod Crane.
You must reach him before that happens.
Save him.
For that is a rebirth no one wants to see.
It's a question of which Henry we're dealing with, because if it's the Bad Henry, then he can cause a lot of damage.
We found it like this.
Either the Archives has a serious raccoon problem Or someone pulled an old smash-and-grab.
You should see this.
Oh, no.
(gasps) Spare jewelry? Something slightly more valuable.
The most dangerous magical items in our possession.
This is still fresh.
We have a chance of catching up to whoever did this if we act fast.
Yeah, it would help if we knew what was taken.
Well, knowing our track record, I'm guessing it's something that'll give your nightmares nightmares.
I can figure out what it is, but it's gonna take time and Crane.
Divide and conquer.
You guys work on this, I'll get the spellbook.
You said it was in a cabin? Yeah, Corbin's cabin.
It's where Crane used to live.
Look, no offense, but your magical know-how isn't exactly state-of-the-art.
You could end up grabbing her recipe collection.
LARA: I'll go with her.
I know my way around spellbooks.
You good with that? (sighs) Think I can handle it.
You still draw? Uh, not much.
What about soccer? Look, I can tell you right now, my life didn't turn out anything like you thought it would.
You're angry with me.
I was, for a long time.
I remember learning you were dead, and feeling numb, and then angry, and then miserable.
You and Crane had told me how I was special, and how I would never be alone.
But I was alone, and that made me angry again.
And that's when Dreyfuss came to you? Yeah.
He was kind.
- He-he was my father.
- No, come on.
That's the way that I saw it.
That's why I told myself that the things that I did for him were okay, but now that I'm here, telling you about all the evil that I've done (sighs) I know this isn't the life you wanted for me.
Hey, listen, the only thing that matters is that you survived.
If there's anything I've learned from my time with Crane, it's that you do not know what's coming around that corner.
Think you have it all under control, and then, one day, a 250-year-old British guy shows up and tells you that your little daughter is a Biblically-prophesied Witness.
Malcolm told me the Witnesses was just some story that you No, it's not.
It's what you are.
You should know that by me coming here, the future has been rewritten.
No matter what happens, Molly your Molly she won't end up like me.
Thank you for giving her back her future.
Let's hope it's a future worth having.
JENNY: Thracian Phial, Jincan venom, the Egg of Asag.
So that just leaves Damn.
What is it? The Draugur Stone.
A Norse artifact that can raise the undead.
Undead? Kind of like zombies? (whooshing) Exactly like zombies.
What'd I tell you? Nightmares.
I've seen a drawing of this before.
At Dreyfuss' cabin.
He must have sent his demonic gofer to retrieve it.
So in addition to everything, Dreyfuss can now harness the power of the undead.
Harness.
That's what he's doing.
Dreyfuss is charging up artifacts to raise the Horsemen.
The final totem left is Death's Axe.
What if Dreyfuss wants to harness the power of the undead to charge the axe? JENNY: A charged axe would allow him to revive the Horseman of Death.
He would need to raise bodies with strong spiritual ties to the Horseman.
Uh, family, relatives.
Followers.
The Horseman used to command an elite group of Hessians, mercenaries whose devotion to him bordered on fanatical.
Where might these Hessians be? They all drowned when Washington sank their boat in the Hudson.
(water gurgling) They were on their way to launch an attack.
An attack on Sleepy Hollow.
(grunting) What's this spell book look like? A book with spells in it.
Very helpful.
Okay, I think I got something.
Here.
"Incantantio Separatio.
" Spell for separation.
This must be it.
Problem? Let me guess.
It's insanely difficult and requires some impossible-to-find ingredient, like tears of a unicorn or dragon's spleen.
No, it's actually fairly simple.
It's basically just a ritual to reach into someone's mind and communicate with a trapped spirit.
I could do it right here.
The hard part isn't the spell, it's convincing the imprisoned soul to come back to our world.
Crane's made it back from situations like this.
He can do it.
Okay.
All I need is, uh, something that holds a piece of his essence.
Like a piece of clothing? A photo? Or you.
The soul of a loved one can create a powerful psychic bridge.
Okay.
What do we do? Okay, we got to clear a space.
Oh, and dragon spleens? You definitely don't want to mess with that stuff.
Totally messed up a friend of mine.
You're joking, right? Yeah, I am.
You always were easy.
JOBE: I thank you for lending me your energies.
Now you are free to answer your master's last call.
Will you at last bring death to Sleepy Hollow? (roaring cheers) JAKE: So, zombie Hessians are gonna wipe out Sleepy Hollow? That's what the undead usually do: try to finish their unfinished business.
Okay.
Greek fire rounds.
All of the pop of the unquenchable mystical flame, but in projectile form.
These should take out the Hessians.
And so, what's the catch? These are all we've got.
Make every shot count.
Right, so, no pressure at all.
Hey, you've got this.
Trust me, I've seen what you can do.
That's right, we got this.
Yeah, we'll just let's go.
(reciting in Latin) DIANA: Who are you? Ichabod Crane.
Is this Agency 355? - in a dream.
- DIANA: Dreams.
I ask if it bothers you, you just change the subject.
CRANE: Molly shall know no fear.
DIANA: That's what we are, a team.
Crane? I'm here to get you out.
CRANE: Get out! You can't be here! I'm afraid! He'll come for me.
Go away! This is some kind of transformation chamber.
A chrysalis created inside your psyche, so all of this has been constructed in your head.
CRANE: Get away from here! What do you want? He's going to hurt us! The voices are anger, disgust, fear.
Primal emotions.
At this moment, the Avatar of War is breaking my father's psyche down bit by bit.
You are being deconstructed.
Easier for the Horseman to take over your soul if you're in pieces.
Okay, so how do we put Humpty Dumpty back together again? (metal clanks) (grunts) CRANE (echoing): He's here, he's here He's here! He's here! He's here.
He's here.
Yeah, no kidding.
He's here, he's here.
He's here! JAKE: So are these zombies slow or fast? JENNY: They ain't slow.
ALEX: But you beat them before, right? Yes, barely.
(snarling in distance) Go, go, go.
Okay, don't engage until they're close.
Take it one shot at a time.
And remember, watch each other's backs.
- ALEX: Okay.
- JENNY: Ready? (guns cocking) Now! Is that it? Did we get them all? (laughs) Messin' with the Hessians.
Am I right? - Huh? - Shh.
(footsteps approaching) You had to say something.
Why has there always got to be a round two? Crane, the Horseman is trying to make you lose yourself.
Remember who you are.
I remember how you were there for a confused girl.
I had forgotten, but not anymore.
I remember you.
You are Ichabod Crane.
(groans) (coughs) (gasps) Lara? There's something else, Crane.
Another reason why you can't let this bastard win.
It's this bond between us.
I tried to forget it, but it's part of who I am.
I guess I've always known, even when Malcolm told me that it wasn't real.
You and I we are the Witnesses.
Yes, we are.
All right.
All right, all right.
All right, rest here.
Mom always said you had a flair for the dramatic.
Yes, well, your mother is incorrigible.
(chuckles) And thanks to you, I am no longer bound to the Horseman of War.
So why are we still here? Not that the inside of your psyche isn't comfy and all.
Before I fully disengage from the Horseman, I want to use his power for one final deed.
(breathing unsteadily) All right, all right.
"And if any man will hurt them, "fire proceedeth out of their mouths and devoureth their enemies.
" Hey, I remember that.
In the Bible, about the Witnesses.
You-you told me that at my birthday.
Do you remember what I told you it meant? Yeah.
That I'll never be alone.
(gasps) (panting) Are you okay? I think so.
Crane did you reach him? Yes.
He's free.
Oh.
Okay.
And he told me to tell you something.
He told me that you should let Molly have that new cell phone that she's been asking for.
- He did, did he? - Oh, yeah.
And those earrings.
The big Yeah.
I know the ones, yeah.
He said he had something to take care of.
- I'm out.
- Me, too.
Look out.
(horse neighs) (horse snorting) - (pained groans) - Crane? Crane - (groans) - Are you all right? Yes, yes.
I am pleased to see all of you.
Same.
Now how the hell did you do that? Lara and Agent Thomas.
They succeeded in freeing my spirit from the clutches of the Horseman.
But before I fully divested from the avatar, I took advantage of its power to come to your aid.
Wait, so instead of the Horseman controlling you, you were controlling it? As they say, turnabout is - Is freaking awesome! - (others chuckle) Close enough.
So does this mean War's gone for good? I fear not.
I can still faintly hear its siren call.
Which means it has not left this earthly plane.
Three guesses who's going to be trying to get it back in the game.
Malcolm, there is a problem.
Crane's allies were able to release him.
He is no longer the Horseman of War.
How, Jobe? Not to fear.
War's spirit was not destroyed, it was but separated from Crane's.
It can be recalled, provided you have the right host.
One whose soul has already been primed to be the Horseman.
Perhaps I'll do.
(Dreyfuss laughs) Jobe, what, uh Who the hell is this guy? Malcolm, allow me to introduce to you Henry Parrish, son of Ichabod Crane, and former host to the Horseman of War.
"Rightful.
" The word he is looking for is the rightful host for the Horseman of War.
Thank you for freeing me from those unpleasant quarters.
- Don't mention it.
- Jobe, Jobe Jobe, Jobe.
(chuckles) Uh, you seem to be saying, "Hey, Malcolm, "this random man out of the woods, this is Crane's son.
" As if we've got every reason in the world to trust Crane's son.
Henry Parrish is not on the same team as his father.
Though I do play the part rather well, if I say so myself.
"I-I mean you no harm.
"I was conceived out of Ichabod Crane's memories "and-and as such, I am the son that he chose to remember.
" What fools these mortals be.
Henry, is it? I think this is the beginning of a revolutionary friendship.
What do you say we go inside and have a little chat, huh? Would you care for a drink? Oh, would, uh would you happen to have hot tea? Oh, Henry, you know, I have a sneaking suspicion that can be arranged.
