So good to have you here.
Thanks for having me.
You sound incredible and you look great.
Guys, something incredible happened earlier today.
Our top nine got to meet the one and only Dolly parton for a special mentoring session, a once-in-a-lifetime chance for our artists to absorb all they could from this music legend.
Take a look.
Hi.
You'll only hear this maybe a couple of times in your life.
Meet Dolly parton.
Hello, everybody.
I know you.
I watch you.
I am really not this short.
It is just that he is that tall.
Sit down there.
Y'all have fun.
Thank you.
I feel very honored to be in the presence of all of you.
What I love about this show is that they pick you based on your talent.
I know that some of you are gonna be having to go home tonight.
Just because you don't win does not mean that you are not winners.
To me, a truth is being who you are and hope you just make $1 billion.
A lot of us are aspiring song writers.
Is there a song that hit you like a lightening bolt.
When I did the movie "nine to five five" it was about secretary taries.
I have these acrylic nails.
Every day I knew what to write.
It was such a thrill when somebody took a song I have written and had people clapping along.
You have performed so much in your life.
Do you ever still feel that swinge? I still get those butterflies.
Once the spotlight hits me, I'm okay.
If I mets up, I try to make a show of that.
You get out there and do it.
Do you ever have things you do when you get homesick? I pick up my guitar and that's when I write some of my best songs, Tennessee Mountain home.
Be true to yourself.
It is more important that you be real in here.
You're a home girl.
How do you get so high? I love you.
I'll be watching you.
See ya tonight.
Special thanks to Dolly.
That was an unforgettable time for our artists who stand with me now.
A tense night here on "the voice" as nine become four.
Another history-making night of performance.
We had the most votes last night than any other "voice" show in history.
On iTunes, eight of the top ten songs were by your semifinalist, which is a "vice" first.
Before we get to the results, a quick question for you.
Last night, Blake said he has never worked with anybody that gives as much to their performances as you do.
Should you advance to the finale, what would that mean to you? It would mean everything to me.
It is no secret I have two beautiful kids and a beautiful wife at home.
I'm going to make a life for us making music somehow.
I think that would give me a great opportunity to do so.
I sure hope I get the chance.
Thank you, Barrett.
I will now reveal the name of the first artist advance together finale.
Remember, I will reveal these names in no particular order.
3 .
Congratulations.
Our first finalist on "the voice" tonight.

Before the break, we found out that Jordan Smith from team Adam is our very first finalist.

We'll start with Adam.
Congratulations on Jordan.
Adam, you are most famously, probably one of our more competitive coaches.
What is this night like for you? Me? Yeah, you.
What's tonight like for you and your team? Tonight is, I've been telling these guys, listen, it is the second to last show this season.
We have had a blast.
It has been tough.
It is always tough when people get eliminated.
At the same time, you have to appreciate the fact that we have come this far and everyone is doing amagz.
They are going to continue to do more amazing things.
I think we are all in a good place.
I agree with that.
You have been so nurturing to Braden and Jeffrey.
What would seeing them advance to the finale mean to you? It would mean everything.
We have been on this journey and every single time, it gets closer and more intense.
I feel like they deserve to be here.
They have come so far.
I want to see them going.
You have your lucky penni thank you, guys, very much.
Let's bring out our eight remaining artists.
A quick question to Amy.
You have gone from singing in small Brooklyn bars to standing here as a semifinalist tonight on "the voice.
" What has this whole experience taught you about yourself as an artist? Well, this experience has been the most amazing thing I have ever been through.
I think the biggest thing I have seen through this show is that nothing truly great happens alone.
There are so many amazing people behind this stage and behind each performance, that not only make them one but make them spectacular.
It has been an honor to work - with them.
- Thank you.
Be best of luck to you.
I will now name announce the name of the next artist moving on to our finale.
Here we go.
Your second finalist is from team Blake, Emily Ann Roberts.
You have made the finale.
Congratulations! Team Blake, now joining team Adam in the finale so far.
Both Jordan Smith and Emily Ann Roberts are advancing.
Seven of our remaining artists on stage still at risk to go home tonight.
What a night.
We are going to announce another finalist when we come back and the one and only Dolly parton will sing "coat of many colors.
" Welcome back to live eliminations.
She is an icon, a trailblazer, an eight-time grammy winner and one of the most successful music stars singing her favorite song she has ever written "coat of many colors" please give it up for the one and only Dolly parton.
Thanks.
Thanks so much.
3 f2 démosle un gran aplauso a back through the years I go wanderin' once again back to the seasons of my youth I recall a box of rags that someone gave us and how my momma put those rags to use there were rags of many colors every piece was small and I didn't have a coat and it was way down in the fall momma sewed the rags together sewin' every piece with love she made my coat of many colors that I was so proud of as mama sewed she told a story from the Bible she had read about a coat of many colors Joseph wore and then she said I hope this coat will bring you good luck and happiness and I just couldn't wait to wear it and momma blessed it with a kiss my coat of many colors that my momma made for me made only from rags but I wore it so proudly although we had no money I was rich as I could be in my coat of many colors my momma made for me so with patches on my britches and holes in both my shoes in my coat of many colors I hurried off to school just to find the others laughing and making fun of me and my coat of many colors my momma made for me and oh I couldn't understand it for I felt I was rich and I told them of the love my momma sewed in every stitch and I even told 'em all the story momma told me while she sewed and why my coat of many colors was worth more than all their clothes but they didn't understand it and I tried to make them see that one is only poor only if they choose to be it's true we no money but I was rich as I could be in my coat of many colors my momma made for me made just for me - thank you.
- How about that, everybody! Dolly parton on the vise tonight.
Awesome.
Thank you.
Thank you.
Dolly parton is here.
This is awesome! We're so honored to have you here tonight.
- Thank you.
- Dolly was sweet.
You probably couldn't hear with the applause.
She was honoring the band.
That was so gracious of you, of - course.
- You had a chance to spend time with our semifinalists.
What was that like for you? They were so sweet and so nice.
That reminded me of me when I was young.
They asked for advice.
I said, I don't do advice.
I will give you some information.
They were great.
They are so talented.
I love the show.
They are great.
I watch it.
- I love this group here.
- They are all right.
I was happy to be part of the show and get a chance to touch some of that greatness with the kids.
Some of them you can already tell are going to be big in this - business.
- That means a lot coming from you.
That song has a lot of meaning.
Tell me why that song is so special to you? I wrote it years and years ago.
It is a true story from my childhood.
I am from a family of 12 up there in the smoky mountains.
Mama made all our clothes and the quilts for our beds.
It is a sweet little song.
It means more to me than the others because it talks about mama and faith and family and hope and you don't have to have money to be happy.
You can be rich in hope and love and understanding.
The "coat of many colors.
" Your special airs this week.
It is the movie of the week.
It is a good time for it.
It is not a Christmas movie but it is a show that has all those elements that this time of year has.
Anyway, it is really a sweet faith-based story.
It shows my family and where people like me come from.
I think people like to know who you are.
Everything that I am that's good came from my family an from my faith in God.
That's what the show is about.
It is more about mama and daddy and our whole family than it is about me.
- It shows how I fit into that.
- We look forward to that.
"Coat of many colors" airs this Thursday.
You are going to see a special preview of that in the next commercial break.
How cool.
The one and only Dolly parton.
Thank you, Dolly.
Thanks for having me.
Merry Christmas to you.
Back to the business at hand.

We will get to our result in a second.
A quick question to Braden.
Last night, they said you aren ainspiration to so many kids watching.
What would you like to tell your fans everywhere that have big dreams just like you.
That's hard but I would say to anybody out there that wants to do something like this, just try it.
I didn't think I would make it through.
I thought it was a waste of gas money.
Give it a try and see how it goes.
It will turn out better than you expect.
- Trust me.
- Thank you, Braden.

Well, coach, Blake, you've got Emily and Robert, Barrett baber, already in your finale.
Your chance to have all three of your artists next week, was that enough? What do you have to say? I'll tell you what it was enough of.
To make me believe, dude, you're a star.
There is no question about your stage presence and the things that we have seen you do and work so hard at to make it to this point.
The thing that I can't overstate is that what a great country singer you are and how cool it would be to have a guy like you, at your age, who is a traditional country sounding singer again.
That's why I want you on stage.
That's why America needs to vote - this guy in.
- Thank you, Zach.
Two more performances to go.
Singing, don't dream, it is over for her.
The only chance to become a finalist.
From team pharrell, madi Davis.
There is freedom within there is freedom without try to catch a deluge in a paper cup there's a battle ahead many battles are lost but you'll never see the end of the road while you're traveling with me hey now, hey now don't dream it's over hey now, hey now when the world comes in they come, they come to build a wall between us we know they won't win now I'm towing my car there's a hole in the roof my possessions are causing me suspicion but there's no proof in the paper today tales of war and of waste but you turn right over to the tv page hey now, hey now don't dream it's over hey now, hey now when the world comes in they come, they come to build a wall between us you know they won't win hey now, hey now don't let them win 3 f2 let's get some comments from your coach.

I've got to tell you, like, from what I can see and what I hear and what people say to me all the time, America loves you.

This may be the end.
It may not be for the show.
It is not the end of our friendship.
That's not going anywhere, brother.
Thank you, coach.
Pharrell, some last works for madi.
It is just amazing to me.
You are the youngest person on that stage.
You are 16 years old singing like that, arranging your own songs.
You write songs.
It is just amazing to write a girl from Kentucky to live out your dreams in this way and come and do this the way you are doing it.
It is just amazing.
Thank you, pharrell, Gwen, quickly for jeffery.
