It's a new dawn Oh! It's a new day Oh! It's a new life DALY: This is "The Road to the Live Shows.
" Hi, everyone.
I'm Carson Daly.
Welcome to "The Road to the Live Shows.
" Tonight, we're getting you up to speed on which artists our coaches are taking to the live playoffs.
We're gonna start with our newcomer, the great Kelly Clarkson.
Kelly proved herself amongst our coaches and fit right in.
Yes! KELLY: My first season has been so good.
I think Alicia, Adam, and Blake did a really good job of messing with me.
Kelly has absolutely no experience on this show whatsoever.
I had enough experience that he had me mentor his team on the second season! [Cheers and applause.]
Ooh.
Whoo! BLAKE: Even though Kelly is the new coach, I don't feel like this feels that new to her.
I'm just saying.
He had to phone a friend.
[Laughter.]
ALICIA: Kelly she's completely in her emotions and her feelings.
I'm gonna cry.
Oh, no.
She's very sensitive.
The fact that you picked that song it was cool.
You know, Kelly she feels everything.
Oh, and now you're holding hands.
I'm totally gonna cry.
Okay.
I hate this part.
[Chuckles.]
What I love most about Kelly is she's so real and so giving.
ALICIA: Kelly's pitch style is basically an auctioneer.
She's just a firecracker.
I go on tour, too.
I know a lot of these people take people out on tour and make records afterwards.
I would love to have you go out on tour with me.
You know, Kelly talks a lot.
Blake, 7,476.
What do you think that number is? If you say it's how many words I just said, I'm gonna kick you.
It is! [Laughter.]
I'm sure wherever she is right now, people are passing out because there's no oxygen left in the room.
[Laughter.]
A lot of times, you don't get to hear the people in the back.
Kelly can talk all she wants.
I will never not love it.
I think she's hysterical.
We are learning she does talk a lot.
You're learning that? [Laughs.]
DALY: But when the talking didn't pan out, she had another strategy in mind.
Don't you want to stay here a little while? [Cheers and applause.]
She's perfectly willing to bust out in song when she's pitching herself to an artist.
playing out.
Some people want it all ALICIA: Yeah! [Cheers and applause.]
I will sing for food at some point.
Like, I just kept singing.
Hard to get high when you're living on the bottom Oh, whoa Oh, whoa [Cheers and applause.]
Yeah! It works sometimes.
[Whispers.]
Not most of the time.
ALEXA: Sing, sing, sing, sing Okay, I have this thing I do that I've realized.
ALEXA: I got the music in me RAYSHUN: Crazy, baby RAYSHUN AND TISH: Baby, now I just have this bounce.
I'm like, "Yes", like, and you're feeling it.
Crying, baby, it's a sign of the times It's the bounces, the rolls.
She's, like, breaking it down.
Middle of the night in my dreams I love Kelly's down-to-earth personality.
She acts so equal to us.
Creole Lady Marmalade No shame with the bounce.
I'm gonna bounce my way to the winner's seat.
DALY: Now let's see how Kelly molded her live playoff team.
And to help guide them through the knockouts, she brought in Season 3 champion, CMT award winner, and Grammy nominee Cassadee Pope.
It's almost like a nice pay-it-forward moment.
Yeah.
I got to sing with Kelly when I was on Team Blake.
Catch my breath Won't let 'em get me down CASSADEE: It was incredible.
It's just an honor to be asked to come back.
Oh, hi! Hi! [Laughs.]
KELLY: My favorite things about having Cassadee Pope is that she was with Blake before, and now she's come to the better side, which is my team.
- Hi.
- Oh, my God.
She's not only smart and knowledgeable about the industry and, like, what goes on in this kind of competition, she's also been nominated for a Grammy, which is pretty awesome just to show them there is longevity after this show.
Here comes goodbye DALY: The youngest artist in the competition, Brynn Cartelli, continued to shock Kelly with her vocals.
He was right here in my arms Damn.
Whoo! You are 14! Oh, my God.
Oh, my God.
You are a born storyteller.
Yes.
Thank you.
You just took us on a journey.
I have one thing.
I have one thing.
It's, um Arms That big note? "Arms"? Yeah.
I just want to hear it with a tiny bit of vibrato.
In my arms I don't want anything to stray from the perfection that's happening right now.
He was right here in my arms tonight Just being 14, you have a maturity that's way beyond your years.
And even if you were 30 To be that good at that age is is remarkable.
Yeah.
[Applause.]
Thank you.
ADAM: Brynn she's effortless.
She's not nervous.
There's this combination of the elements with her, and there's something about this girl.
She's a star.
DALY: Coming up, we'll see how Kelly built the rest of her live playoff team.
Creole Lady Marmalade DALY: And we've got a save! And later, a timeless performance you don't want to miss.
It's a new dawn It's a new day Plus, hilarious, never-before-seen footage.
I enjoyed it so much.
[Laughs.]
This is "The Voice" DALY: Welcome back to "The Road to the Live Shows.
" Let's continue to see how Kelly's team did in the knockouts.
Family man Kaleb Lee edged out his competition, making him the only country singer left on Kelly's team.
- I have something for you.
- Oh, you do? These are my kids.
They wanted to send you a message.
[Gasps.]
Thanks for stealing our dad! Oh, my Thanks for stealing our dad! KALEB: I wouldn't be here today if it wasn't for the encouragement of my wife and my kids.
We're free as we'll ever be Oh, my God.
Okay with that tone.
[Laughs.]
I can't wait to rub this moment in Blake's face.
When I win this show, we made a bet.
He has to call me Queen Kelly Clarkson.
I am elated that I stole Kaleb.
Blake is so dumb.
I wanted one more moment of that Ever be It's a money spot in your voice.
Yeah.
Just harness your strengths.
- Yeah.
- Cool.
Kelly's been here.
She's been in our shoes.
She's really trying to pay it forward to us.
She's a person you want in your corner.
We're free as we'll ever be Yeah! It's no secret.
I really wanted country people on my team.
And he has this really cool, like, solid country sound with his rasp.
I'm really excited to move forward with Kaleb.
Seeing you perform like that, this is gonna be something I am never going to hear the end of from this person right here.
So, that's a feather in your cap, man.
I screwed up.
I forgive you, Blake.
[Laughter.]
So goodbye yellow brick road DALY: Alexa Cappelli showed Kelly that she had what it took to make it to the live playoffs.
You can't plant me in your penthouse I'm going back to my plough Alexa, you have this really powerful voice.
You don't quite come off like you're gonna just bang like that.
I think you really continue to surprise.
You have all of what it takes to really, really be an incredible singer.
KELLY: Alexa something comes alive in her when she's onstage.
She shocks me every time.
And you are the best thing You're the best thing, ooh DALY: And Kelly added to her live playoff team, stealing back Dylan Hartigan.
[Cheers and applause.]
We got a steal! You got him! Again! You're so good, so I had to.
Congratulations, Dylan.
Thanks a lot, man.
Dylan can throw down on some vocals, and he proved that.
The knockouts was his best performance on this show yet.
Your love is fading DALY: For an epic showdown, Kelly paired her two powerhouse vocalists together D.
R.
King and Tish Haynes Keys.
CASSADEE: You're a beast.
Thank you.
He has this incredible range, too, this incredible falsetto.
There's this one part that I thought I wanted you to do it.
It was that one part in the middle.
Oh, yeah Okay.
No one is doing that on this show like that.
No.
[Laughs.]
Hey, hey, hey Giuchie, giuchie, ya, ya, dadada For me, it was tough growing up.
I was pregnant at 14.
I had my daughter at 15, but now, oh, my goodness.
I'm on Team Kelly Clarkson.
I feel like I just was, like, trying to be your coach, but like But, like, it's next level.
CASSADEE: Yeah, yeah.
You're the most talked about coach.
Everybody just loves you, and I'm talking, like, from every team.
Oh! That's really nice.
That's really nice.
- That made me feel really good.
- Seriously, for real.
For real.
It's there when you speak my name It's not the same Oh, honey, I'm losing you KELLY: D.
R.
comes out here and he floors us.
Just did such an insane version of the song.
Creole Lady Marmalade KELLY: And Tish is one of my favorite singers in this competition.
A woman that can come out here and nail Aretha Franklin, Chaka Khan, Patti LaBelle I mean, I don't know anybody that can do that.
ADAM: D.
R.
, in any other situation, that would have been the illest thing - I've ever heard in my life.
- Right.
But then Tish had to mess it all up for everybody.
[Laughter.]
Both of you equally fricking killed it.
I would dream of having a performance like that.
DALY: Kelly, who's the winner of this knockout? D.
R.
King's my winner.
D.
R.
King, congratulations.
You are moving on.
KELLY: I couldn't imagine not taking D.
R.
to the live playoffs.
I think the public needs to hear all that D.
R.
has to offer.
DALY: And in a "Voice" twist, Kelly used her only save to strengthen her team.
Tish is available And we've got a save! There it is! The steal! I think I want to just take this to the top with my new coach.
Yes! - Aw.
- Yeah! ADAM: Tish is a legend that hasn't been discovered yet.
She's special.
I hope Kelly knows what she's got.
- Team KC.
Team KC.
- Team KC, baby.
I cannot wait for my first live playoffs.
My team is super diverse and represents, like, almost every side of the industry.
I literally have such a great team.
DALY: Do you have a song for your "Voice" favorites to perform? Tell us using the "Suggest a Song" feature in the "Voice" app, brought to you by Xfinity.
This is "The Voice" DALY: Welcome back to "The Road to the Live Shows" from Universal Studios Hollywood.
Now let's see how six-time "Voice" winner and reigning champion coach Blake Shelton did this season.
Yeah! Season 14 has been a wild ride so far.
Yes! [Cheers and applause.]
This season, I am the best dancer among the coaches.
I don't think you've lived until you've seen Blake's happy dance.
[Cheers and applause.]
Yes! There is so much wrong with that.
Blake's a bad dancer.
There.
I said it.
I'm just honest.
You ever seen him dance? Shufflin' Shelton.
Shufflin' Shelton.
That's what th That's what they call me back in Oklahoma.
Yeah, that's what they call him.
One of my favorite thing that he does is when he waves to everybody 'cause he did something that he thinks is good.
The Presidential wave.
It's pretty funny.
Thank you very much.
Thank you.
Thank you, guys.
Thank you.
Thank you.
BLAKE: Kelly and I went head-to-head against each other in the blinds nine different times.
You turned at the very last second.
- No, duh, duh.
Duh, duh, duh.
- I have [Laughter.]
It felt like 100.
[Laughs.]
You want to fight? [Laughter.]
Even when Blake and I jab at each other for fun, we love each other, we respect each other.
There's kind of a, you know, brother/sister camaraderie.
What is wrong with you?! I love that song.
I love her.
You don't even know her.
I love that Blake does not hold back Hi, Kyla.
I know Blake has won a lot on the show, and I'm the rookie.
Pretend like I didn't get rudely interrupted.
and then literally says the most perfect thing that you need to hear.
Dude, it sounds like you smoked a pack of cigarettes and drank a bottle of whiskey right before you got onstage, man.
It's not true, Mom.
It's not true.
The thing I love about Blake is that he's just a normal person.
I'm not playing in front of either one of you two guys.
I don't want to look like I need lessons.
I think Blake is just so authentic.
This is the first time I've seen Trace smile today.
[Chuckles.]
That's true.
And I feel like when he's speaking to you, he's really speaking to you.
I think you have the opportunity to turn the country-music industry on its ear.
ALL: I pick Blake.
Yes! DALY: Now let's take a look at how Blake shaped his team for the live playoffs.
To get his artists ready for the knockouts, he enlisted help from his former team member with the highest-charting knockout performance ever and reigning "Voice" winner Chloe Kohanski.
You're already back on "The Voice" again.
Yeah.
She's the perfect adviser 'cause nobody can relate to these people like someone who was just on last season.
- Is that Chloe? - Hello.
This is family.
This feels like home.
- Hi, Chloe.
- Hi.
And if I have a chance to help somebody else, I'm gonna do it, and I'm excited about it.
DALY: In a unique pairing, Blake matched Spensha Baker and Austin Giorgio.
What a day this has been Chloe Kohanski is our adviser.
So cool 'cause here's someone that's done the journey.
I want you to hit Almost like being in love I think it's important that you hit that melody.
You could even maybe like Almost like being in love at the end.
It's like people are just being swept away.
Gotcha.
Seen my share of broken halos When I was very young, I had a really successful career in gospel music.
I lost the passion for it.
I was totally done until now.
I feel like you're really quick to fall off of notes.
What I want to hear you do is Seen my share of broken halos Seen my share of Broken halos Broken halos that used to shine It's almost like being in love Thank you so much, guys.
Thank you! Austin, I love you.
That kind of confidence is so sexy.
Spensha, there's so much undiscovered in you.
This is a tough one for me 'cause you are two of my favorites.
The winner of this knockout is Spensha.
[Cheers and applause.]
I think Spensha is a true country vocalist, and I could not be more excited that she's the person that represents my genre of country music in the live playoffs.
I just really want to say thank you so much for all your time and consideration.
You really are what people say behind closed doors.
I'm not letting you go.
Whoa! [Cheers and applause.]
Even when he's up there crooning and then doing all the loungy stuff that he does, he's laying down a perfect vocal every time.
That's why I saved him.
I'm not letting you go anywhere.
What's the matter with you? Will it go 'round in circles? DALY: Gritty bluesman Pryor Baird delivered another strong performance, securing a spot in the live playoffs.
Will it go 'round in circles? They're gonna, like, start throwing, like, bras and stuff.
[Laughs.]
I love your tone.
Just that rough, tell-a-story, you-can't-hold-back kind of tone.
ADAM: Pryor's definitely a potential finalist.
It's really hard to have rasp that you can control in that high register.
He's ridiculous.
Ain't about what's waiting on the other side DALY: Pop rocker Wilkes also impressed Blake, winning his knockout.
Wilkes, I don't know if this is, like, your secret weapon.
You dial it all the way back, and then the music takes over you, and, like, wow.
BLAKE: Wilkes is such an incredible vocalist with a huge range.
He's definitely the the dark horse in the competition.
I've been licked, wrapped up for years DALY: And Blake used his one and only steal to pick up Gary Edwards.
It's only my pride Gary, you sang the hell out of that song.
Whoa, we got a steal! BLAKE: You know, I pushed for Gary in the blinds, and I was not gonna miss the opportunity to steal him if he ever became available.
And don't tell me what to do DALY: Kyla Jade also secured a spot on Blake's live playoff team.
KYLA: Before the blind auditions, I was touring as a background singer for Jennifer Hudson.
I'm challenged every round being on "The Voice.
" Ooh.
Wow.
I felt like that you weren't quite sure what you were gonna do with the ending.
Figure that out.
I love this element of being planted, but your arms and you and who you are is is just it's filling the whole space of the room.
You don't own me No, no You don't own me Whoa! Kyla is in the other coaches' minds, t-the one that got away that's gonna haunt 'em for a long time.
Own me Me [Cheers and applause.]
What?! What?! Kyla.
We just all died.
You know what I mean? Kyla, you're beginning to own the front of the stage.
The winner of this knockout is Kyla.
Kyla her voice is insane.
- You are incredible.
- Thank you, Blake.
Like, she can literally sing anything, and I would buy it.
BLAKE: Going into the live playoffs, I have pop, rock, soul, blues, R&B.
I've got a crooner.
Obviously, I've got country.
Got a little bit of everything, and that's exciting.
Team Blake is gonna win "The Voice" this year because that's just what we do.
DALY: Still to come, we'll see who Alicia chose to advance to the live playoffs.
Yo respiro - Yes! - DALY: And later, step into another era with our coaches who put on a performance like nothing you've seen before.
Fly me to the moon The is "The Voice" Welcome back to "The Road to the Live Shows.
" Tonight, we're catching you up on all the talented artists before you have a chance to vote for your favorites in the live playoffs starting next week.
Let's see how three-time "Voice" coach Alicia Keys returned to try to reclaim her title.
Season 14 has been really cool.
Alicia Keys! I mean, the best part of it all is being able to introduce these incredible artists.
What's it gonna be ALICIA: and show them how to bring it all out, and in that way, they bring it out of me, too.
Me, you, us.
Yes, it's gonna be crazy! I'm ready for my second consecutive win.
KELLY: Alicia came here to take the title back, but, I mean, I'm not scared.
Not This is what fearless looks like.
I'm not after you, Kelly.
I'm after him.
[Laughter.]
The only reason Blake won last season is 'cause I wasn't here.
I have won this show.
I plan to win it again.
I'm a monster.
I'm a beast.
I don't stop.
Blake's going to have a hard time this season, and I think Kelly's gonna give him a hard time, too.
Adam? Sadly for me, there's you.
[Laughter.]
Meh.
You were obviously put on this planet to do what you just did.
When she's talking to you, it's like you're the only person in the room.
I want to be on her team.
She's got that Alicia way, and it's it's very disarming.
I love her for that.
That was beautiful.
I love the individual, one-on-one thing that she has with every person.
It's absolutely fantastic.
It's the craziest feeling because it's like when divinity enters the room, and you can feel it.
Like, if I ever did anything right, it was come to this show only to meet you.
Alicia is definitely a life coach along with a "Voice" coach.
The thing that you probably have to work the most on is not closing down your greatness.
Now, listen.
I only have one pair of lashes.
I have to actually look down to be sure that's not Dr.
Phil.
[Cheers and applause.]
DALY: And now we'll see how Alicia formed her team going into the live playoffs.
To strengthen her artists, she asked Season 12 champion Chris Blue, fresh off his hit single "Blue Blood Blues," to advise them in the knockouts.
I know exactly what they're going through.
Do you? I know.
This is a big stage.
This is a big show, man.
It feels so good to be back, you know.
This place is like home.
I brought Chris Blue to meet y'all.
DALY: In Alicia's toughest knockout decision, she paired Christiana Danielle and Terrence Cunningham.
'Cause I got an elastic heart Oh, my God.
When you started out the song, there was hesitation and reserve, but the more you sang it, the more comfortable and relaxed you got.
This is what you do.
Just go there.
Tell me something good This is, like, one of the world's most sexiest songs ever.
Right, right, right.
So now it's time to, like, turn up the fire.
It's in there.
Bring it out.
Tell me something good Oh, oh, oh It was the perfect song, the perfect style like how you did it, where you took it.
That moved me.
[Laughter.]
And it was good.
'Cause I got an elastic heart Christiana, post-blind auditions, you have been great, but I still think there's more, and I think that you're gonna find your way and be really one of the best.
The winner of this knockout is Terrence.
DALY: Terrence, congratulations.
ALICIA: Christiana and Terrence, I think they're both obviously very special.
Like, when you watch them perform, you remember why you love this show so much.
Ladies and gentlemen, give it up for Christiana Danielle.
That is a save! [Cheers and applause.]
Oh! Whoa, now we got a steal! [Laughs.]
I mean, she didn't pick you! No.
DALY: We got another steal! It would be devastating for me to lose you.
This was my glory moment because I could get both of my favorite, beautiful artists that are on my team.
Please stay.
- I pick Alicia.
- Yes! KELLY: Christiana I love.
I think she's ridiculously talented, but she chose to stay with Alicia, obviously.
We gotta do this! There's so much we can do! DALY: Latin singer Johnny Bliss continued to impress Alicia.
We grew up surrounded by all these demons drugs, alcohol.
All I had was the music.
Standing here today, I feel like I've defied the odds.
In spite of you Ohh My secret weapon is definitely Johnny Bliss.
I mean, he's a powerhouse, and when he sings in Spanish, it's even crazier.
Yo respiro Johnny Bliss.
You have such a voice.
Wow.
This dude is dynamic and interesting and switches it up to Spanish halfway through.
You're amazing.
DALY: Teen folk rocker Britton Buchanan also advanced to the live playoffs.
BRITTON: I'm from Sanford, North Carolina.
Sanford is kind of slow around here.
While everyone else is making friends and partying, I was just this 17-year-old that just happened to be in bars every Friday and Saturday night playing music for a bunch of people.
Me, I'm taking a Greyhound On the Hudson River line I'm in a New York state of mind Britton, this was almost like a really soulful, crooner-type thing.
Like, you almost have this like old-school rat pack thing about you, as well, that I never saw before, and I think that that's really cool.
Britton is just clearly one of the favorites on this show right now.
This This kid's so talented.
- All right, let's go.
- Thank you.
DALY: Kelsea Johnson left it all out on the stage with an emotional performance of "Rise Up.
" You're broken down and tired I'm a little nervous.
Are you afraid of disappointing yourself? Are you afraid of disappointing somebody? I'm trying to make everybody proud.
Don't put that pressure on yourself.
I think the reason you chose this song is because you have to believe in yourself.
Got it.
And I'll rise up I'll rise like the day I'll rise up Ah! In spite of the ache I'll rise up I don't know if you watched last season or not, but Chloe, both your voices break up, and the thing that Chloe figured out was that's what people actually like.
That makes me excited as a listener.
ALICIA: Kelsea draws you in, and you know that there's something inside of her that has yet to be tapped that is just an overflowing well.
You did it.
I'm really proud of you.
- Thank you so much.
- You found it.
Save me from the nothing DALY: In one of the most shocking moments in knockout history, Alicia came out on top, snagging pop-rock singer Jackie Foster away from Adam.
To life, oh - Oh! - Oh! We've got a steal from Kelly Clarkson! A save from Adam Levine! We've got another steal! [Cheers and applause.]
You told me when we went backstage the first time, you're like, "I want to do rock 'n' roll music," and I just don't think that there's any other place for you, considering what you want to do.
Do I think Adam would make a great coach? Totally.
Is home nice? Yes! [Blake laughs.]
I am the only one who has never kicked you out of the house.
[Laughter.]
And I've pushed for you twice now.
DALY: Oh! Three steals and a save! We've never seen it! Well, I didn't want to be left out.
This was so exciting.
[Laughter.]
We were so good for each other.
Rock 'n' roll was born from the blues and soul.
[Cheers and applause.]
That is true.
DALY: Who is your coach? Please.
Come on, Jackie.
Alicia.
DALY: Alicia Keys steals Jackie away from Adam! Oh, my God! Who do you pick as your coach? Me.
[Laughs.]
I was totally shocked.
Jackie is fierce.
She has a powerhouse voice.
She was incredible.
Yay! Jackie! Thank you so much.
[Laughs.]
O-M-G.
We're going into the live playoffs, and it's crazy.
It's like artistry at its finest.
Alicia Keys has the best team, period, this season.
It's killer, unique, dynamic individuals who are gonna blow your mind.
Like, you're gonna love to hear what they're singing.
You're gonna be moved by it.
This is "The Voice" DALY: Welcome back to "The Road to the Live Shows.
" This season, veteran coach Adam Levine was on a mission to take home another "Voice" victory.
And he proved it right away.
You say "Don't Stop Believin'"? I'm gonna start believing right now that I'm just your coach.
Adam he knows what he wants.
He knows what he likes.
I pick Adam! Oh! [Cheers and applause.]
ALICIA: I felt like I had that one.
Perhaps that just showed me, you know, it's not over till it's over.
Oh! C-K-E-D.
Yes, good.
Good work, Kelly.
[Laughter.]
Our plan is working.
BLAKE: You know, I think there is probably a moment or two where Adam and Kelly are close to teaming up against me.
Blocked.
Blocked.
What's wrong? Waah! But then Adam just can't help but burn those bridges every time he almost has one built.
On my phone, it says "Queen Alicia.
" It doesn't even say "Alicia Keys.
" What the hell does my name say? Yours says "Kelly Clarkson.
" [Laughter.]
I look really good.
[Cheers and applause.]
I love that shirt.
- You're the only one.
- "You're the only one.
" Blake makes fun of the things he fears.
Oh, my God.
I love your [Laughs.]
One thing he's very afraid of is style, and therefore, he fears me.
You look like a set piece from Broadway's "The Lion King.
" You know, he was feeling real tropical.
What can we say? Don't look at my hair.
Can I be looking at your hair - because I like it? - Yes.
When we started this season, I was the only blonde.
Now Billy Idol's come back.
For real, like, he dyed his hair again.
Maybe you should Start again I'm starting to wonder if the bleach is getting to Adam's brain a little bit.
[Laughs.]
DALY: And now let's check out how Adam built his live playoff team.
To help them prepare for the knockouts, he called on Season 9 winner and top-selling "Voice" artist Jordan Smith.
You are literally the best singer ever.
Oh, stop.
You know it's true.
Keep going.
Jordan Smith was my adviser for the knockouts 'cause who better to show the ropes to these guys than a former winner of "The Voice" who also happened to be on my team.
[Scottish accent.]
Drew and Jackie! DALY: Adam paired two very different but equally strong singers when he matched Drew Cole and Jackie Verna.
What song are we singing today? "Slow Hands" by, uh, Niall Horan.
Don't you know that I want you, baby? Yeah With a song like this, you have to have a certain swag.
Yep.
That shows this is artistry.
I'm so happy he's here to give this advice.
And now Jackie.
Ahh! JACKIE: I really started in more of a pop-R&B kind of vibe, but when I was recovering from a really bad car accident and started playing piano, I realized I loved country.
There's a wild, wild whisper Jackie has the sweetest voice to match her heart.
Sometimes it feels like her voice goes away.
- On the low-end stuff? - Yeah.
So I think it's just making sure the lower notes - Mm-hmm.
- are really supported.
Oh, nothing sweeter than summertime And American honey Can't you tell that I want you, baby? Yeah I feel like this is pretty evenly matched.
Jackie, you have this quality that's like angelic and pure, but you also have this big, huge voice.
ADAM: Both of you have made such strides.
There is no real right choice.
The winner is Jackie.
Jackie, congratulations.
That means you are moving on to the live playoffs.
ADAM: Jackie's amazing.
I think she's one of the best country singers in the competition.
DALY: Whoa! There's a save! - Whoo! - Immediately.
Your coach doesn't want to let you go.
There it is! The steal! Drew, it is up to you.
Who do you pick as your coach? I pick Adam.
Again.
ADAM: I saved Drew Cole.
He can kind of dip his toe into whatever water he likes, and and I think he's got range as far as what he can do going forward.
Go away.
You leave my Stop hassling my team.
You go away! Oh, oh, oh, I DALY: Adam's knockouts continued with an impressive performance by Rayshun LaMarr.
RAYSHUN: Having to go through cancer and having to deal with not knowing if you're gonna be able to live to sing again, to make it here is super crazy to overcome that.
Rayshun, I'm so glad that you went for that very bold thing.
Rayshun sang my song, and it was, like, bananas.
He's a man, but he reached those notes.
[Laughs.]
DALY: Reid Umstattd also landed a spot on Adam's live playoff team.
I'm gonna let him fly You really did an amazing job of transforming the meaning of a song.
And the artistry of that is really special.
ADAM: Reid just has a really special voice and a range that I think is unexpected.
She was standing there DALY: And in an exciting steal, Adam gained passionate singer Sharane Calister.
Being in foster care, sent from home to home, not raised by your mother or by your father, that was the roughest part of my life.
The fact that I get to be here, this is a huge step.
Sharane.
You are so connected emotionally to what's going on, it's, like, there's no turning back.
[Cheers and applause.]
You belong here on my team.
Adam stole Sharane.
It made my heart relax because she's such a special person.
I really wanted her to continue, and now she is.
Oh, my God.
Thank you so much.
DALY: Mia Boostrom continued to surprise Adam heading into the live playoffs.
Mia brought out the soul of someone much older than she is.
She has something very special.
Even being on the stage from where it was in battles, I feel like I was very tense, and that was your note.
You were always, like, "Get out of your head.
" And now I feel like I am just in the moment completely.
Well, you're you.
You know, you've arrived.
Wade in the water Wade in the water, children Wade Mia, that performance right there was brilliant.
Mia is probably the most surprising thing that's happened.
She absolutely blew the doors off.
My team going into the live playoffs is incredible.
I have a team full of amazing singers that I love and respect, filled with talent and potential.
Now that you're all caught up on the teams for the live playoffs, let's check out Adam and Blake's spin on an old classic.
[Applause.]
ADAM: Thank you very much.
How you feeling tonight, Blake? You feeling good? I'm feeling good.
I'm feeling, uh, almost normal.
Yeah.
Once you get a couple down, you start acting normal again.
Two more away.
[Laughter.]
