Thunderbirds Are Go! (2015) s03e16 Episode Script

Chain Reaction

This is guard 624.
I'm beginning my search of the Shackleton powerplant.
WOMAN: Copy that, 624.
You doing OK? Yeah.
Just fine Don't worry.
There's nothing to be scared of.
Scared? Oh.
I'm not [STRANGE NOISE.]
What was that? Try to relax.
As long as your radiation level remains green, you'll be OK.
- Green.
- Just go in, check the sensor and get out.
No sense worrying about "The Beast.
" Beast? What beast? Oh, nothing.
Just an old story about a guard that was trapped during the meltdown.
The guard was changed into the Shackleton Beast.
Shackleton Beast? They say it roams the halls to this day, searching for a way to break free.
But that's just a story.
[LAUGHS NERVOUSLY.]
A story.
Right.
Nothing to be afraid of [GASPS.]
[YELLS.]
[PANTING.]
Is someone there? Please, help me! [THUNDERCLAP.]
Heeeeeelp! ANNOUNCER: Five Four Three Two One.
[THRUSTERS.]
[TITLE MUSIC.]
Thunderbirds are go! [FILM PLAYING.]
Arise, mighty Kraken.
And may all the creatures SCOTT: Gordon? Alan? Anyone? Go forth and destroy.
Destroy! So much for a family movie.
I picked a good one, too.
John, I don't suppose you're beaming in for the movie.
Sorry, Scott, we have a situation that needs a fast response.
FAB.
I'll see you in the sky.
Don't go anywhere.
[MUSIC.]
[GEARS WHIRRING.]
[WHOOSHING.]
Five, four, three, two, one.
[ENGINE ROARING.]
SCOTT: Thunderbird 1 is go.
The GDF guard is trapped in a lift shaft and needs help right away.
The GDF need help with a lift rescue? Turns out it's inside the old Shackleton powerplant.
Shackleton? That place is still radioactive.
Extremely.
Even with a protective suit, the radiation's dangerous.
If you're inside too long It's like taking a bath in poison.
A little dramatic, but sure, that works.
I'll get the guard before his radiation levels spike.
Anyone else inside? That's just it.
The guard said he saw something.
But nothing is showing up on scans.
The GDF are sending their nuclear expert to investigate.
[THUNDER, LIGHTNING CRACKLES.]
- Scott! - Marion van Arkel.
It's Lieutenant van Arkel these days.
Shall we? I had no idea you were the GDF's top expert.
For once, growing up in a uranium mine came in handy.
To contain the threat of radiation, Shackleton was designed with these blast doors.
One way in, one way out.
Except in emergencies.
[BEEPING.]
What happens in an emergency? Lockdown.
No way in, no way out.
[LIGHTS CLICKING ON.]
How is this place still running after a meltdown? Shackleton was the cutting edge of nuclear technology.
Everything was built to last.
Keep a close watch on your radiation level.
The longer we stay, the closer it gets to red.
And red is bad.
Got it.
We never meet when things are normal, do we? This is as normal as it gets for me.
- But I've grown a lot with the GDF.
- I can tell.
- Last time we met, you were a little - Rude? You attacked me with a giant mech suit.
Hello? Is someone up there? It's International Rescue.
Are you OK? Yeah Sort of.
Sorry for all the trouble.
- Don't worry, we'll get you out.
- But be careful.
Something else is in here.
Let me guess, you saw the Shackleton Beast.
Yes! Well, no, but I heard it.
Very groany.
Sort of a [MIMICS BEAST.]
Or maybe like [HIGH-PITCHED GROWL.]
- Right.
- But that's not what I meant.
The sensor didn't go off by mistake.
Someone else is here.
OK.
We'll look around after we get you to safety.
Actually, no.
You rescue our guard, I'll find the intruder.
Marion, wait.
That's the GDF's job.
And you're the GDF You know, I don't believe I got your name.
It's Cameron, sir.
Hold on tight and we'll be out of here in no time.
There's nothing to be scared of.
Scott to Marion, how's it look? [MUSIC.]
Dark and creepy, as expected.
But we need to hurry.
Our levels are starting to rise.
[DEEP BOOMING.]
[SCREAMS.]
Hold on! [CAMERON PANICKING.]
[METAL GRINDING.]
Don't move.
[GROANING.]
[GASPS.]
[DEEP BOOMING.]
[STRAINING.]
[METAL CREAKING.]
[GRUNTS.]
- Bingo.
- Scott, I've found the intruder.
Tall, purple armour and trying to steal the uranium.
Anyone you know? That would be Fuse.
He's one of The Hood's Chaos Crew.
He doesn't look so tough.
Marion, do not confront him.
Fuse is dangerous.
Dealing with him is a job for the GD Never mind.
What I'm saying is you need backup.
I think I just found it.
This one, then this one.
Was it the purple or the white? And what's the orange one for? THE HOOD: Fuse, what's taking so long? Sneaking around and cutting wires is Havoc's job.
Can't I just blow it up? Do that and the uranium will finish you off.
Oh, yeah.
Hang on.
I've worked it out.
Power punch! [ELECTRICITY CRACKLING.]
[ALARM SOUNDS.]
[PISTONS CLANGING.]
[MUSIC.]
[CHUCKLES.]
Step away from that uranium.
[GEARS WHIRRING.]
[ELECTRICITY POWERS UP.]
Fuse, you are under arrest.
We can do this the easy way, or the hard way.
Hard works.
[MUSIC.]
[GRUNTING.]
[METAL GRINDING.]
This is all my fault.
Don't talk like that.
We'll find another way.
Sorry.
But what can we do? There's no getting around that lift.
You're right.
We can't go around it, so let's go through it.
[GRUNTING.]
[STRANGE NOISE IN DISTANCE.]
Again? What is that thing? The Beast Fuse, listen to me.
You have no idea how dangerous this uranium is.
Do you really want another meltdown? Sounds fun.
[LAUGHS.]
[HIGH-PITCHED WHINING AND BEEPING.]
[BEEPING INTENSIFIES.]
[EXPLOSION.]
Hold on.
[CAMERON YELLS.]
I think we missed our floor.
[DISTANT IMPACT.]
[LAUGHS.]
He's getting away! Don't leave me! [FUSE LAUGHING.]
[DOOR CLANGS.]
He's locked us in.
[STRAINING.]
He can't force his way out this time.
The door's magnetically sealed.
Enough of this! [BEEPING.]
- Fuse, you need to get out of there! - What's it look like I'm doing? I'll be fine.
My armour can take anything.
Not this time.
If that goes off, it'll take the uranium with it and you, too.
I've never had to turn these off before.
What if I? Uh-oh.
Boss, I've got a situation here.
Boss! Boss?! [STRAINING.]
Havoc! Boss! Somebody help me! Will the doors protect us from the uranium if that thing blows up? Yes, but not him.
There's nothing more we can do.
That's not true.
What are you doing? He's a bad guy! Bad guy or not, he needs help.
[BEEPING INTENSIFIES.]
[EXPLOSION.]
The airlock's been compromised.
[GASPS.]
We're in lockdown.
- No way in - And no way out.
Can't we yank this door off, too? The lockdown door is made from the strongest material on Earth.
We're trapped in here because you let him get away with the uranium! - It was the right thing to do.
- He wasn't worth saving, Scott! Everyone is worth saving, Lieutenant! Um, sorry to interrupt, but this radiation's not getting any lower.
We've been in here too long.
If it reaches red, the radiation will seep inside our suits.
- We need options, now! - Um? You don't need to raise your hand.
What is it? I might have a way.
There's a backup door deep inside the building.
Here are the Shackleton blueprints.
Looks like you're right.
It's an older exit from when the plant was first built.
[BEEPING.]
Exactly.
It won't be as strong as the front entrance - and it won't be on lockdown.
- How do we get to that door? Getting to it isn't the problem.
It's the 400 tons of concrete on the other side.
Then we'll clear the path first and I know just the man for the job.
Virgil, we need you here.
Now! FAB, Scott.
I'm on my way.
[GEARS WHIRRING.]
[MUSIC.]
Five, four, three, two, one.
Thunderbird 2 is go.
SCOTT: Take the mole pod and drill through the door.
We'll be waiting on the other side.
Mm-hm.
FAB.
Wait, is that my popcorn? I thought you were finished.
[SIGHS.]
The fastest way is through the reactor core.
But that area is the most highly radioactive of all.
And we're almost to orange.
At this rate, we'll never make it.
[STRANGE NOISE IN DISTANCE.]
[GASPS.]
- The Beast? - Ah! Where? [WHIMPERS.]
Soldier, stand your ground! [LAUGHS.]
[RATTLING, BEEPING.]
That's the Shackleton Beast? It's just an old transport buggy.
Probably been on since the meltdown.
I can't believe I was so scared.
If it's designed for transport, then this may be our answer.
The cargo area can protect us from radiation.
We'll ride inside it.
Can one of you set a path? - Oh, yes, me! - [SIGHS.]
Stop raising your hand.
Mole pod is go.
- 30 seconds to the door.
- Let's hope that's enough.
We've entered the core.
[BEEPING.]
No going back now.
Virgil I'm here, but we have a problem.
I'm on max power but I can't break through.
This door's not on lockdown like the others.
That's Shackleton for you.
Built to last through anything.
Does this door have an override? It would be all the way back in my guard tower.
There wouldn't be time.
We're going into red.
[BEEPING.]
[ALL GASP.]
[ALL CHEER.]
Radiation levels are dropping.
That was some rescue.
Good work, Virgil.
Thanks, but I didn't do that.
If you didn't, then who did? The radio's turned on.
Someone's been listening to us.
Guys, you won't believe this.
Fuse.
He must have switched the override.
Your uranium, Lieutenant.
You were right, Scott.
What you did for Fuse saved our lives.
Well done, soldier.
I look forward to reporting how well you did.
You will? I did well? You're the one who remembered the door.
That was some fast thinking, Cameron.
Huh? Oh [CHUCKLES.]
Well done, soldier.
Well, duty calls.
See you around, Lieutenant van Arkel.
[CHUCKLES.]
Hopefully somewhere far away from radiation and dangerous thieves.
- Speaking of thieves - VIRGIL: I know.
I owe you popcorn.
THE HOOD: Fuse, do you have the uranium? Uh, International Rescue and the GDF got in the way.
- I had to ditch it.
- [GROANS.]
Of course you did.
I don't know what I expected from you, you pathetic lump of! Report back to the Chaos Cruiser.
Copy that, boss.
[TYRES SCREECH.]
[MUSIC.]
