There is this company

They've been snatching up the best
cannabis-producing land in Edgewater,
and they're using hardball
tactics to get it.

Your client continues terrorizing
the residents of this county.

Well, your mom, she starts flailing,

I'm bleeding worse than the fish,
and I got my thumb down its gullet,
it's going crazy, and your grandmother
jumps down and she snipped the line,
she threw the trout back in the water and
she scooped your mama up in a big old hug.
Your grandmother was
one hell of a woman.
I see her every time I
look at the two of you.
You're feeling awfully sentimental today.

mastermind of a criminal cartel
operating right here in Edgewater.
We're still piecing it together,
but six months ago,
Henshaw used her influence over Edgewater
growers to form a so-called co-op.
It's really just a
homegrown cannabis cartel.
The money you recovered in the woods,
that three million dollars?
The money you took from my department.
It's cartel money.
The proceeds of an interstate drug deal
brokered by Mama Joe and
her cartel counterparts,
with some dealers out of Colorado.
We took these two days ago
outside of Mama Joe's cabin.
That is Tanner Cook, six years
in prison on federal weapons charges.
Martin "Brownie" Ball, who's
been in and out of your county jails
for half his life, and Luna Miller
- A legal grower.
- Who just this year was involved
- in a shootout on the open road.

Alec, trying to pay her taxes.
Growing weed in

We're not charging them

The second that they sent
drugs across state line,
it became the DEA's problem.

My contacts in Colorado
gave me two names
Dale Hawkins and Tanner Cook.
My agents are with Dale in the
hospital now. He's not talking.
So we put our focus on Tanner.
We surveilled him outside of
Mama Joe's cabin in Deadwater.
And as you can see, they were not alone.
This morning, we served a search warrant
on Mama Joe's cabin and
several other locations.
We recovered a portion of the
stolen money buried ten feet
outside of Brownie's front door.
(sighs) And Mama Joe?
By the time we got to her cabin,
she was gone.
Looks like she's on the run.
All right, I'll put out a BOLO.
(knocking)
We just got a call.
Building manager
requesting a welfare check.

The address belongs to Liman Ford.
The lawyer for Emerald Eden?

- MICKEY: Somebody who's
been intimidating local growers,
trying to get them to sell their land.
Ford is the lawyer who papered the deal.
NEWSWOMAN: The federal Drug
Enforcement Administration
has carried out a series of
dramatic early-morning raids
across Edgewater County.
No statement has been issued,
but we're told that several
arrests have been made
in a sweep reminiscent
of the so-called CAMP
or Campaign Against
Marijuana Planting
raids of the 1990s, when
(loud banging on door)
(banging continues)
What the hell's going on out there?

I got the warning when I heard the DEA
was moving up the mountain.
Threw my dogs in the truck,
hauled ass out the back.

you're just gonna off yourself?
Maybe someone else scrubbed them,
like Emerald Eden,
trying to tie up loose ends.
Ford's not the only person that works
for Emerald Eden that we know about.
Frank Stokes.
Guy we arrested for
intimidating growers.
MICKEY: He's still sitting
in jail for assault.
Why don't you guys go pay him a visit?
Now that's he's got a dead accomplice,
he might be more cooperative.
And get a rush on the autopsy.
Emerald Eden's been terrorizing
Edgewater for six months.
I have a feeling they
just graduated to murder.
