This is our evidence our ghost adventures.
Once the largest city west of the Mississippi, this mining town of Butte can accurately lay claim to the title of Montana's most historic city.
Now an inn and museum, the Dumas brothel was an active bordello from 1890 to 1982, making it the nation's longest-running house of prostitution.
The Dumas was connected to the mines via tunnels, exposing the working girls to abuse, murder, and suicide.
People once came here for sex, but now pleasure has turned to fear, and the owner has called us for help.
He claims something sinister resides in the basement And it's attacking people.
[ Metal clinking .]
I hear somebody.
Things are weird right now.
We've just kind of been sitting here for two hours waiting for the owner, and he just now showed up, so we're going to go meet him.
We're at the Dumas brothel.

I have had it almost five years.
-What's that been like? It has been probably the most challenging and awakening experience of my life.

-So, what's going on here? Are they disturbing you? Are they messing with you? Are they affecting you on a negative level? Oh, yeah.
The best way for me to describe this is to say that there is, you know, things like bipolar disorder.
I'm not diagnosed with that, by the way.

Okay, have they changed into a sudden aggression? Um not so much a sudden aggression.

I'm beginning to wonder if something is trying to take control of his consciousness.

When you get Michael in this place, he is a whole different person as to when you were to take him outside.
Ginnie has spent many hours with Michael in the Dumas.
Do you believe that he's affected by the spirits here? He is.

Who? The guy that built this place as a brothel.
Out of all the houses in Butte, Montana, Michael bought his home and he bought his business, and he didn't even know that.
Out of all the Butte -- So, wait.
Michael, who I just talked to, who is, I believe, affected by this place, unknowingly bought the guy who opened this in the 1800s, bought that guy's home, too -Yes.
-and didn't even know.
Right.
He is reincarnated.
So, he's very, very attached to the building, to the spirits -- He's getting rid of his house to save this place.
-He's going to live here? -Mm-hmm.

Michael got pushed backwards right there.

It scared Michael.
He was traipsing through here like this and all of the sudden, he landed flat on his back.
He got grabbed, picked up, and thrown on his back here? He was walking like this, and all of the sudden, right in his tracks, he went boom! So what picked him up and threw him on the ground? We don't know.
We don't know, and there was nobody else in here.

So this is, obviously, down the basement that we're going right now.
And this is where Michael said that a more sinister presence resides.
I don't come down here.
I come down here as absolutely infrequently as possible.
There's definitely a man, an old -- older man.

Do you believe that the old man pushed you? Uh, yeah.

There's more going on here, I think, than what any of us could ever wrap our minds around.
ZAK: Is the spirit of the original owner abusively manipulating Michael? Has there ever been a possession in here? Several people.

They've ran out of this building, gone out, and vomited.
[ Both retching .]
The furnishings of this basement are the most authentic and original.
There's original stuff that was there from when the room was in operation.
There's a woman named Sarah.
This was her room.
This letter is from her lover.

" "I will get you out of the Dumas.

" So, this was from a miner that fell in love with a prostitute.
So, he writes this.
He dies in the mine the next day.
She kills herself in this room.
Yeah, you see these mine towers, and they got the sign and they'll say how many deaths are on there.
[ Bell tolls .]
ZAK: While Michael takes a breather, Aaron and I head to the top floor to shake off the cage-rattling energy of the basement.
The energy in there would just shoot through your chest and just boom! You feel it.
The spirits are still there.
Hey, they never left.
It looks just like it is.
They're probably still there, the loved ones we were talking about.
Dude, they're probably in that room.
Right, and just imagine, like, a spirit zoo.
Like, these are all the different cages and exhibits for these ghosts.
I could just see them in those rooms, just sitting there on those beds, just staring at you.
Michael rejoins us, but he still seems emotionally compromised.
He tells us about an aggressive spirit he encountered on this floor.
I sensed the presence of a woman, and I felt like she was very territorial and pissed off that we were in her room.
I also got this sensation of, I can't breathe, or choking.
Almost maybe like she might have felt.
I don't know, I can't explain it.
Right, right, like a residual And then, I felt like we got interference from another.
Like, the man.
And he was telling us to get out.
Did you feel like you took something home with you? -Yes.

I start feeling that on my neck.

AARON: It's really red right here.
It's, like, getting darker and darker.
So, just talking to Michael about his experience in this room, I started feeling something on my neck.
[ Camera shutter clicks .]
Oh, my God.
It's a whole patch of red on my neck.
Looks like a handprint to me.
It looks like it's just a big, red patch.
Like, slapped.
It almost looks like a rash or something.
It's still doing it.
It hurts.
-It does feel like a rash.

ZAK: Ginnie has an involuntary startle reflex -- proof that she's seeing something on the upper floor.

ZAK: I ask Ginnie to take us upstairs, where she's seeing the spirit she calls "the judge.
" Can you introduce me to the judge who doesn't like me? This place is getting really, really weird.
Do you feel him now? -Yeah.
-What's wrong? He's up here.
He doesn't like that I'm up here? Mnh-mnh.
You put a threat to him when you're here.

Just see how people change when they come in here, versus outside.
Ginnie seems more and more affected so I ask her to try to make contact with the judge.
Judge, why don't you want Zak up here? Why don't you like me? Is it true you don't like me? He's behind you.
Yet again, I felt that before you even said that.
Can I see that? ZAK: Why don't you like me? Is it true you don't like me? Who is that? Those spirits -- they don't like us.
Why don't you like me? They're going to want to do harm.

They're going to want to kill me.
ZAK: We all gather at the Dumas brothel in Butte, Montana, to listen to the EVP we just captured.
So, Billy, explain to us what's going on.
BILLY: We just captured it from your digital recorder and put it on the computer, and it's plain as day what that spirit says when you ask the question, "Why don't you like me?" Okay.
ZAK: Why don't you like me? [ Speaks indistinctly .]

Interviewing you, you're very passionate, because it's based on you being affected by the spirits here, or you connecting with the spirits here.
I know where they're at.

I think the building has a lot that plays into that, with her and with me.

In the short time that I've been in here, I'll be honest to say that I've felt what you guys feel.
It's very, very powerful.

It's hard not to feel what's upstairs.
I mean, we all felt it.

Whether he likes me or not, or, you know, what's ever going to happen the further we take the investigation, it's whatever they want.

ZAK: Before we wrap up, Ginnie shows us the room in the basement where she was attacked.
Outside the door, something negative crosses her path.
[ Gasps .]
We've discovered it is a common occurrence at the Dumas.
Ugh, gosh! This is crazy! I am just getting jolted with stuff.
I feel like a piece of popcorn in a hot kettle, just bouncing all around.
AARON: Dude, I keep doing that.
I keep getting jolts.
Like, just [makes zapping noise.]
, you know? Yeah, my camera will be shooting.
I'll be like -- Like twitches, and it's just weird, like, what the? ZAK: Jay and I step outside to break down the evidence.
These two are severely affected by this location.
I felt it.
I heard it.
Whatever is affecting them is very powerful and has control of them, and that's a scary situation.
When they're outside, they are -- like she said -- they're completely different people.
But when they're in there, those spirits have control of them.
When I was interviewing her, the man that she was talking about was channeling through her.
I could tell.
He would pop in, pop out, and she would let him.
There was times where like, "the man doesn't like you.
" "The man will harm you.
" And the man was in her.
I can see it through her eyes.
And I'll tell you what, she's right.
Those spirits -- they don't like us, because we are intruders, and we are there to try to break that barrier between those two and the powerful spirits that have control of them.
So, we're a threat.
We're jeopardizing this whole situation.
I believe that if we go in there and we try to break this bond and call this man out, call these other spirits out, they're going to get pissed.
And like she said, they're going to want to do harm.
They're going to want to attack.
They're going to want to kill me.
Looking at the picture of the mark on my neck, we realize the attacks have already started.
Oh, my God, are you kidding me? This reminds me of what was on your neck Right, and at Locke.
when we did the Scientology place.

And both of those were spirits that were pissed off at you.

But before we begin our lock down, we love experiments.
This one is a human experiment.
What we do know so far about this brothel is that there is an older man, a spirit, that is very mean and very protective of the girls that are in here now.
From the attack that I got on the neck AARON: It's really red right here.
It's, like, getting darker and darker.
From the class-A EVP, from the feelings Why don't you like me? Who was that? and everything that the owner is going through with this building, I thought it would be a good idea to actually bring what this old man wants -- women.
Each girl will be completely isolated in a separate room, so that we can monitor them for different types of paranormal experiences.
They will also be visited by us, where various pieces of equipment will be used to take the investigation even further, in an attempt to document evidence.

ZAK: If these footsteps are from the malicious spirit that's known to attack the living, I don't want to put McKinley in any danger.
So, I immediately head down there with the spirit box to see if this entity will speak to us.
Do you like that I'm in here? [ Oscillating static .]

-Holy -- Did you hear that? -Yeah.
It sounded like a little girl, didn't it? It was like, "Thank you.

Well, now that you're reacting to their voices, this is when they get really excited.

AARON: Whoa, whoa, whoa! ZAK: I'm communicating with a spirit at the Dumas brothel, but that's not the only activity we're stirring up.

McKinley is in full panic mode as I inform her that she will have to remain down here a little longer by herself.

We are completely blown away, because we are seeing an unknown figure in the same area where the anomaly appeared only moments ago in this chair.
We are documenting scientific evidence of this spirit dropping the temperature around Caitlyn, and even touching her arm.

ZAK: Yes, and at one point, it even reached out and touched your arm, and it just stayed like that.
I now call for all of the ladies to come into this room to see if I can document further proof of this spirit's presence.

ZAK: As all four of the ladies continue to feel this spirit that keeps touching Caitlyn, I document an unexplained five-degree temperature drop directly where they are feeling this spirit.
As we release the ladies from our investigation, it seems as though this angers the spirits, because Billy immediately has a disturbing experience up in the attic.
We're getting ready for the transition to begin our investigation, and Billy was upstairs up top, setting up a thermal imaging camera.
I was down here rearranging nerve center, and that's when you started screaming for us.
You know what's weird? I just tripped out.
When I walked from there to there, I was like -- I didn't realize where I was just now.
-Really? -Yeah, I feel really lightheaded right now.
My head's buzzing, Jay.
I didn't know where I was just now.
JAY: That's weird.

If there are multiple spirits here, I'm only talking to the one older man that seems to be aggressive and violent.

-Dude, I have the chills BILLY: What the hell? ZAK: The spirits at the Dumas brothel seem to be lying in wait, so we have to smoke them out.
Jay, there's an area of the brothel we've never been in.

ZAK: As Jay climbs down the stairs to the basement, he turns back as we walk by, and these two strange light anomalies, which we debunked as not being any type of lens flare, appear to shoot right into my back.
-Whoa.
-Hey, Bill.
-Yeah? -I think I just saw something following Zak up the stairs.
-Just now? -Yeah.
I saw something weird, too, and my camera would not focus.
-I tried to -- -Yeah, I got it.
You caught it? -I caught it.
-What did it look like? JAY: Looked like some kind of weird light, literally following Zak up the stairs.
My camera -- I was trying to film him, and it was totally fuzzy.

-Yeah? Jay Wasley said he captured a light anomaly following you up the stairs just now.

ZAK: Because we feel there is a transient spirit moving around us, causing our bodies as well as our equipment to react to it, Billy begins using the Paranormal Puck 2 device invented by Bill Chappell to make contact and see who this is.
It collects the energy, electromagnetic fields around it, and then computes that into words and answers when we ask questions.

" Elinor, the only way that we can know if this is you is, can you tell us, what did you take when you died? Like, what did you drink? What did you take? What caused your death? Chloride.

I am just completely lost in time, and I start unknowingly wandering away from the guys.
